It's also important to note that being a 4-man team that is individually weaker than the killer, Survivors need coordination to pull off their wins over a killer. No survivor can win alone.
A killer is neither bogged down or helped by teammates. This allows the killer to be more consistent. It's all his skill.
Survivors don't have that luxury, and when the teamwork goes well it's a multiplier effect on their skill levels. Whereas if the teamwork is bad even the best survivors will be brought low.
The balance frankly is fine. I don't think the game is "survivor sided" because it takes a lot more skill to get that perfect coordination (even with comms) in the survivor team than even the highest skill ceiling killer needs.
If survivor can pull it off, more power to them. They outplayed the killer. If the killer outplays them, more power to him. People are focusing too much on "survivor-sided" when the truth is, this is only the case in the most optimal conditions -- and those aren't common.
-
Indeed, it doesn't! Hahah.
-
Good to know it's being fixed. I hope it comes soon, it's game breaking sometimes.
Like in one game I was asleep and people couldn't wake me up so Freddy just slaughtered me. :D
I'm thinking it's one big bug related to all the other similar bugs. Not just the no heal but also the issue when you miss a skill check the same time you leave a hook. But I really don't know.
Just hope it gets fixed soon it's really, really inconvenient and breaks some games.

Changing the corn would be actually such an easy task. They could just remove every 3rd line of corn which would make it much much less pain the ass.
@Peanits I think this idea is actually really easy but would have such a great impact for those suffer with cornblindness or is playing short killers.
That's really not a thing of "git gud" because I by myself and many streamers who played since release still couldn't adapt to cornvision issues.
Some people just don't have the capability to improve their eyesight for that.
Don't even want to think about colour blind people, must be a hell for them
And how do you intend to compensate Survivors for this straight out blatant nerf?

Meeting the requirements of games is one of the basics of PC gaming.
If you can't play it and you want to, it might be time to upgrade.
I wouldn't mind SOME more options, but we would never be able to set it so pixelated.
The pixel art look is interesting but seriously a game should never have the ability to be reduced graphically to the point that it gives an unfair advantage.
We used to do this in Counterstrike disabling meshes and grass so we could see through the bridge in CS_Aztec and other spots. It's without a doubt an unfair advantage, and it's huge in a game like DbD that is all about hide and seek.
-
The game seriously doesn't need any more aura reading perks for killers. I like the double damage idea, it enables more basement camping shenanigans other than Leatherface.
-
Myers, because I like sneaking around and grabbing survivors off gens.

Exactly. Without cooldown and this requirement to be outside of the TR, the perk could be actually good.
That's not pretty good. That's ridiculously broken as heck. It would put the nail in the coffin of stealth and make it impossible to juke.
-
I do. It's just not the same going against 3 survivors, I can't bring my "serious" game into it knowing that I had a huge advantage in the fight.
-
Quentin for sure. Almost nobody plays Quentin. I see more Tapp players than Quentin players.

I was never good enough to get left behind. :D

If you don't know how to interpret data and just want to post toxicity why do you even reply?
You're one to talk about interpreting the data when you by your own admission think the data is just wrong and disregard it as irrelevant.

Just because most SWFs don't, doesn't mean that none exist that do. Depip squad shows what can and usually will happen when people play like that. Killers stand no chance. Depip squad wasn't even a team of good survivors, either. Just a bunch of killer mains.
Just like how killers at red ranks bring most broken things like omega blink nurse and ebony moris to completely offset a game, survivors too, can bring the most broken perks into a match with incredibly powerful add-ons and the most broken thing of all -- Discord. Two of those three things can be reused every match for free and arguably are the two most powerful assets in a survivor's arsenal.
And I'm saying that in the very small number of cases where they do, it's FINE. Killers are allowed to lose!

They are so new they don't even know how to use the Loadout screen. It happens.

This happened to me on PS4 too. I actually have the video clip saved too, as I wanted to re-watch to make sure I didn't imagine it lol. My friend unhooked me and the BT icon appeared for literally 1 second and then disappeared and I was downed almost instantly by a Michael who came back into the basement.
Never heard of that, sounds like a bug.
-
Make sure that you're in the killer's terror radius when you unhook. BT won't proc if you don't hear the heartbeat.
-
If it's hypothetical, then it isn't reality, so survivors DON'T have it easy.
It's not in most cases. It's HYPOTHETICAL.
-
You're referring to how to counter Myers right?
Hair Myers (Infinite Exposed) - is countered by genrushing. It takes him time to get to EW3 so just genrush like crazy.
NoEd is easy just cleanse totems. If you are having trouble use Small Game.
Aura reading, you learn to play around them if you stealth. It becomes second nature. Don't use junk like Distortion, just learn to counter. Perks like BBQ, you run into lockers or run close to the killer. Never heal in killer's radius. Then use typical stealth loadouts. If you loop, you don't give a damn and just do what you're doing and loop when the killer gets close.
Mirror Myers (Tier 1 with detection) - he is a slowish M1 killer, you beat him by looping. Very nasty on Lery's but that's the nature of the beast. Spine Chill is great against him.
Tombstone Myers (Kill on grab) is countered by genrushing. It takes him time to build up his Evil Within Meter, especially when combo'd with Hair, so just rush the gens. If he spots one guy, that guy can loop him pretty easily since he moves slowly due to the tombstone and is stalking you to boot. Let him loop around in a jungle gym or similar area with no clear lines of sight so that Evil Within build up slowly. Just finish all the gens asap then get out quick.
Another option is to stealth him, but everyone on the team has to be good at it. Since he's slow patrolling gens is hard for him and you can sneak gen repair most of the game. If you get found, go for jukes, he's relatively easy to juke.
It's tough but that's the nature of Killer Iridesecent Add-ons, they are ridiculous.
-
I agree, I don't get who designed this perk, it seems 100% worthless. Why is it so limited when other killer detection perks don't have cooldowns? And it's already severely limited to things that Survivors don't actually do.
That said, this game doesn't need more killer detection perks. Like, seriously. The perk should be reworked or just outright canned and replaced with something else.

The game is swf favoured,Imo.
Solo surv is not favoured due to braindead teammates.
Most games will not have God SWF teams that can take advantage of it, though.
Higher skill cap, higher reward.
In reality making the most out of the "survivor-sided design" requires an incredible level of skill, coordination and teamwork, even with comms. It's like Nurse: high skill cap, high reward. But the cap here is even higher.
The truth is that the actual stats show that survivors as a whole cannot play good enough to even just match killers.
-
It's about time.
I have always felt that there were people who got an unfair visual advantage by turning their graphics way down by editing the configuration files.
I've seen the screenshots, it is impossible to hide in the settings these people use, your blood is ultra visible no matter the surface or lighting and there is like no grass whatsoever and everything is bright and one-dimensional with no shadows.
This is cheating to be honest.

Probably this 30 minute game I had. Surprisingly it was against Doctor, my most hated foe.
We finished all the gens except for 1, but the last three gens were all in close proximity. One survivor had already expired. Doctor was in perfect position to do a 3-gen strategy. For the next 20 minutes we fought tooth and nail against doctor running around, tapping gens, fighting the Overcharge, struggling to get the last gen up. It was an incredibly taut battle with three of us, all solo-queue, fighting with incredibly harmony and precision trying to tear doctor's attention on two gens, getting ripped crazy countless times and stitching ourselves together over and over for the next third of an hour.
Eventually Doctor's concentration slipped and we managed to sneak the last gen by. Instead of running away I stayed to the last moment fixing the gen, and the Doc chased after me and smashed my head in. He put me on the hook as my team opened the nearby gate.
As my life dwindled into nothing Feng Min dove in for a suicide save, shielding me from the doctor. As I got off both of us were down 1 hit each and had to make a mad dash for the exit. The last Claudette fell in line behind us to protect all of us, but the DOc hit her, then hit the other Feng and she goes down.
Doc hooks her, Claudette and I move into position for the save as the Crotus Penn crumbles around us, but Feng makes the noble sacrifice and kills herself on hook so the rest of us can go.
End Result: 2-2 draw.
There were other times where I did hilarious antics and had a lot of fun, but this was the first time I ever got into a really intense, close fight that both sides fought tooth and nail to win.
Probably the next most memorable instance was when I did 2 hook saves in a row by sabo-ing the hooks just as the Nurse was dragging Feng Min onto them. The hooks were perfectly timed and I was able to predict twice exactly where Nurse was going to hook her, and I had both hooks prepped ahead of time. Feng wiggled out after the second hook (she was dead on hook) and we both ran out the exit gate. Both the killer and the Feng called me a Legend in endgame chat.

Complete Truth: But despite all my complaints I'm still playing this game and I'm buying Ghost Face anyway!

Why are they trolls?
They seem to be playing legit. If they did 3 gens that sounds more than you did.

People who complain that a game against the Nurse is mostly dictated by her, seem to forget that for every other killer the survivors dictate the game.
We have 1 instance were one side gets broken, and 14 other instances where the other side is broken. Which one needs to be fixed first? I know where I would start.
This is 100% untrue.
The game is dictated by who is the better skilled side.
If the survivors are better, they dictate the pace of the game. If the Killer is better, he controls the game.
-
I would be amazing. I would just get down on the ground and crawl my way around. Killer will never find me.
-
Can't wait for crossplatform play so I can bully me some PS4 and Xbox killers.
-
I keep asking for BUnny Feng but I realize I'll never use it becuase the head would give me away when stealthing around low obstacles.
-
Hooks stay broken for 3 minutes. That's more than enough time for 2 gens to be completed.
With a dedicated saboteur it becomes 3 and a half minutes.
It's normal.
-
Looks like some tweaks need to be done.
But all this nonsense I hear killers spouting about how all the power is in the hands of the survivors, how the last two killers have powers that are controlled by survivors (ridiculous) is just so much noise.
-
We won't be seeing Sidney as BHVR can't work out a deal with the Scream movies owners.
-
This would just encourage more DCing as Survivors see it as their divine right to help other survivors avoid Tombstones, Iridescent Axes, Iridescent Kings, Mother Daughter Ring and other broken add-ons. You would see survivors DCing the moment they see these add-ons just to prevent killers from keeping them.
Many Add-ons are already broken as #########, we don't need them being permanent fixtures in every game.

Its an actual bug. Same thing happens when you miss a skillcheck with a medkit. It just keeps healing and healing but the bar never moves and you never lose charges. It's pretty nasty.
The missed skill check though is a different bug, but it also came out the same time as this bug came out. They are probably related but I do not know.
The missed skill check you can still heal them, but progress doesn't happen. This also happens with missed skill checks on hooks when you try to leave and the skill check triggers.
This bug I am talking about you can't even start the healing process. M1 (or whatever button you are using) doesn't show up at all. It's incredibly infuriating.

@weirdkid5 said:
Uhm, you do realize the Broken status effect keeps the Survivor from being healed, right?
This means if they are using No Mither, or get hit one of the various addons that cause the Broken status, then you can't heal them.
This probably isn't a bug fam.
What are you, an idiot? Of course I know broken stops survivors from being healed.
This is a real bug.
-
First off, Freddy and Ghostface have always been small.
Second, smaller killers are scarier, they're harder to see.

Advice for Hexyl
1. Stop thinking that only "strong" killers like Billy and Nurse are worth playing. This game is supposed to be fun.
2. Play someone else other than Billy. There is nothing wrong with playing killers other than Billy.
3. Fun is the only thing that matters in a game. Tying fun to your desire to win and stomp your enemies is a recipe for saltiness and discontent.
4. If you are going to threaten the Devs do it properly and not in such a passive aggressive fashion.
-
Get good.

I'm not wrong.
Good Survivors > Good Killer. That's just how it is. DbD favors survivors in most scenarios. Rank doesn't matter, because those SWF kill squads could be at any rank. The only killer capable of going toe to toe with skilled survivors is Nurse. And that's because Nurse isn't handicapped nearly as much by bad map design as other killers.
Except there aren't that many good survivors and there are a lot of good killers.
While the first part of your argument, "Good survivors > Good killer" may or may not be correct (debatable) the second part of your argument "DbD favors survivors in most scenarios" is clearly wrong, and the actual stats of the game straight from BHVR (survival rate) prove it.
And it takes a full team of very good survivors to really make your argument correct. That's not something you see in most of the matches playing this game. The vast majority of players are not in the red ranks doing 4-man SWF, the vast majority of players are potato survivors in green and yellow in 2-man SWF at best, where killers are at the very least on even footing with survivors, and if anything the stats suggest Killers have a slight advantage.
Sure, there could be 4-man bully squads in the lower ranks, but they are far from the norm and are exceedingly rare, once again putting a cog into your argument "DBD favors survivors in most scenarios."

It's a bug where sometimes the heal button is disabled on survivors. I see it come up maybe once every two days. I reported it in the bug section some time back and saw a few other people do the same as well.

Blah blah blah Killers just can't help but feel like victims and blame everything on Survivors having all the power.
