How about when a Killer carries a Survivor he has to spam space, if the survivor wiggles. Faster you let go?
No?
Then shut up about struggling in the hook.
It's a bad mechanic and frankly needs to go.
-
When I play Spirit I can hear footsteps and breathing just fine.
Your sound systems on your PCs are just bad. Use headphones for a cheap fix if you can't hear squat.
This thread is full of killers who are just bad at the game and are asking for Survivors nerfs just to compensate for their unwillingness to get better at the game.
-
The community says nothing. The community is made of disparate individuals who each either prefer one side to the other, or play both equally.
I prefer survivor myself.

Yeah pallets do need to be less especially at red ranks
If you like ssen pallets and shorten loops at red ranks. You will have nothing but a sea of blood and death on the lower ranks.
Any nerf to looping requires a change in the balance of stealth or some other way for Survivors to survive.
-
Billy is stupid strong but you can play around him. The problem is most PUGs have no idea how to play around Billy so they keep falling like flies to BBQ Billy.
-
The first thing they need to do is fix the goddamn lighting.
Dead in the Daylight is nowhere near as atmospheric as Dead by Daylight.

Object of Obsession destroys stealth killers. Why did I type that? For the same (close enough anyways) reason you wrote the opening thread.
Survivors and killers have perks that counter the other. It is just unfortunate that you are bound to face someone who has/will use a perk that isn't really going to be that useful anyways. Besides, the perk will only really find use in a chase, which you are unfortunate enough to have a build that will be countered by this perk. Assuming it ever gets used.
OOO destroys the survivor using it. It's rare to find a Survivor or team of Survivors who can make full use of OOO. Usually the OOO winds up dead.
-
Stealth was dead way back in 2018.
And it's funny because both the Developers AND Killer mains want looping nerfed... but the only thing they keep doing is buffing looping perks and systematically making stealth worse and worse with every patch.
That said... nobody actually uses Dance WIth Me so don't worry about it.
-
Many survivors don't know how to fight hag. They keep running after they get unhooked, newbs.
-
I would use Knock Out, Hex the Third Seal, Whispers and Sloppy Butcher.
Then Face Mask and Rules Set #2. No need to Mori use a Purple Mist offering to make it even harder for them to find their teammates and puzzle boxes.
-
I have to wait 10min to get into a 3 Surv lobby then I have to wait another 15min. No fourth Survivor. All 3 Surv finally leave. I get another 3 Survs lobby..
Start a new lobby for crying out loud.
There is a known obvious lobby bug that does what you describe. Easily fixed by starting a new lobby.
-
Should stealth killers be completely countered by Object of obsession?
Stealth killers are not countered by OOO. They just need to hunt the OOO down and tunnel him into the grave.
If you can't even do that when you have perfect knowledge of your prey.... GIT GUD.
-
Just have him unlock everyone else using shards. If he likes the game enough he'll be playing it more than enough to do so eventually, leaving only certain killers and suvivors in Auric Cell territory.
If he ends up not liking the game the default options are more than enough for everyone playing less than 100 hours.
-
It just means some strong survivors are near the bottom and they are way above your pay grade.
Happens during resets.
Also try harding for BP makes no sense, since you get less BPs for stomps compared to playing close, tight games.

There has to be some semblance of realism in anything, otherwise it goes too off the rails and becomes a joke
There is this concept called "suspension of disbelief" that has to happen with any given media source. This is necessary in order to ground whatever it may be into something believable.
Good example: JoJo's Bizzare Adventure constantly has completely unrealistic scenarios that occur, but it still takes the time to cut away and explain some science behind what is happening, like when Kars gets his Lava Shield, it stems from air bubbles protecting his body, similar to how pumice forms.
Case in point, just because some unrealistic stuff happens doesn't mean that there still shouldn't be some realism. You are in an otherworldly place that defies the laws of death, but otherwise physics still applies realistically as it does in our world
Thus, things like Survivors fast vaulting from a standstill breaks the suspension of disbelief, because while I can accept someone tanking a chainsaw in a supernatural world where death doesn't exist, I CANNOT accept someone defying the laws of physics and gaining momentum from something that never occured.
Yeah vaulting a pallet from standstill is no problem but running 20mph from standstill just because you revved your chainsaw is okay.
Whatever man. No bias here.
-
And people say this game is survivor sided!
-
This is the best time to play. I don't know what you're talking about.

It will no longer be possible to medium-vault Windows/fast-vault Pallets from a stand-still. You know, those scenarios where Survivors stand right next to a safe pallet and vault back and forth across it with full momentum, something which is not possible in reality.
Just like IRL, Survivors will have to run up to the vaults for a bit in order to get the faster vaults. This change is intended to lower the amount of safe pallets and remove some of the more obnoxious window loops.
This is a game where you can take yourself off of being impaled on a meat hook and. Not. Bleed to death, or tank a chainsaw.
We're well past the point of realism and worrying about being true to real life.
That said, this Is good choice and necessary for the game.
-
The grind is fine. There is no need to have everything handed to you on a silver platter.
-
Stop using Hex Perks then.

He only knows your location when you look at him. You control when he gets that information.
And if you are playing SWF, if they are halfway decent, the only Survivor he's ever going to encounter is the OoO user. Everyone else will get fed his location info and high tail it before he even gets close.
There is a reason this game was initially balanced around solo players and the lack of communication.
Once again, killers pretending every match is against an organized 4man bully Squadette.

It isn't used because there are perks that are vastly more powerful and the stealth Killers are already too weak in the first place. Just because no one runs it, and just because there are stronger perks doesn't stop OoO from being extremely powerful itself. It is. People would just rather use their SC, DS and what have you combo for 2nd chances.
It's always been an issue for me. I've always felt Wraith should be invisible to detection perks while he is in stealth mode, same for Pig while crouched. The entire point of a Stealth killer is to be stealthy so that Survivors have no clue you are approaching them. It's the same exact reason Myers has this aspect in Tier 1 with Spine Chill and Premonition, but it should also be extended to Aura Reading. Either way, this is a strawman argument so I'm gonna end that here.
OoO is far from trash and suggesting it is such is absolutely hilarious honestly. Knowing where the Killer is 80% of the time is an easy win. If you know where he is, you only need to look at him every couple seconds to minimize the risk he sees you. Besides, this perk is GREAT for those that excel in the chase, as it makes the Killer chase you down usually, giving your team a chance to repair. Not to mention the information it provides to a SWF squad.
Detection perks shouldn't counter stealth Killers. Stealth Killers should be IMMUNE to detection perks while using their Stealth abilities. They are already super weak. This alone would be a very good change.
Besides, going back to your silly argument of no one uses it, if no one uses it, then this change will literally do nothing, so you have nothing to complain about.
However, you're going to say it will ruin it for the few that do use it. No, it won't, it'll just make it so that if they face a stealth Killer, the game isnt braindead easy.
Ohrrly?
Detection perks shouldn't counter stealth survivors. Stealth Survivors should be immune to Detection perks while using their stealth abilities. They are already very weak. This alone would be a very good change.
If I wearing my Blendette leathers and crouching with Urban Evasion, BBQ and Chili shouldn't work on me. Stealth Survivors are very weak compared to loop and chase survivors, so this change alone would make them viable against detection killers.
See how dumb that sounds?
-
You people are acting as if the killer knowing your exact location for most of the game isn't a serious drawback.
If there is a Survivor that can survive being the OoO and use it against the killer, kudos to him. Killer got outplayed. Deal with it.
If you think OoO is so powerful why don't you play twenty games straight with OoO and tell us how you liked the experience.
It's crazy how some killers think. Personally I find Doctor and Freddy screws my game plan entirely with their powers, you don't see me calling for Doctor or Freddy nerfs.
-
The emblem system is just a poor attempt by the devs to incentivize player behavior they want to see.
Newbies with less than 100 hours might want to try for it as they are used to climbing ranks in other games, but anyone past 100 hours doesn't really care about the emblem system, pips and ranking and have their own way of playing.
-
Plunderers and Ace in the Hole. My go to build.
Saboteur + Flipflop + Tenacity + No Mither - I've caused many killers to tilt doing this.
-
Shouldn't that ability go to balanced landing?
I agree with Victory that footstep noise should be affected, not drops.
-
Both are just as toxic. Some people swear survivors are more toxic but this isn't true at all.
I've been in many matches where the killer hols the then swings at your body over and over (something which the devs even considered removing from the game because it is toxic) while. None of the survivors did anything toxic, except maybe DC.
People claiming one side is lore toxic than the other is just a one-side main with a bone to pick and a narrative to push.
-
I disagree. Killer is inherently fun, it's just that the balance at the top when it comes to looping mechanics makes top tier survivors hard to catch.
-
This is a ping issue, I'm sure. A lot of people under estimate the advantage of being the server.
-
These past 3-4 days my queues are taking so long. There's something up with the game< I think people are so disgusted with the Ghostface PTB that they stopped playing or something.

You mean like how most killers HAVE to run RUIN or HAVE to waste 2 slots with Spirit Fury/Enduring? Yeah...
Prayer Beads are fine. Use a Mandatory slot for Iron Will like Killers have been doing for RUIN since Hag release.
You're not wasting slots because you're USING them to counter loopers -- which is what everyone does.
That said, Spine Chill itself is not a waste, it's a great perk against most killers in almost all situations.
I don't get why someone is saying Spine Chill is a mediocre perk. If I had the space to run it I'd use it all the time.
-
It's not OP but it makes it significantly harder to lose or juke her, and it enables things like Gen grabbing.
Now I love gen grab jump scares, they are part of the fun of being a survivor. Nothing like Myers or Rin yanking you off a generator. Some people don't know how to play around it though so they call it OP.
-
No.
The game does not need to make chases longer and looping stronger. If anything looping needs some hard nerfs, so that the game can be balanced in other ways to provide survivors other ways to stay alive, and objectives adjusted so that survivors don't spend 2 minutes holding M1 in front of a generator while someone loops a killer for 3 minutes.
Hopefully the game gets reworked so that Bloodlust doesn't need to be in the game at all.
-
I wish I could get coldwind all day everyday.
-
It's a good thing you don't do balance and game design for this game.
-
I all for these changes but we need compensatory buffs to stealth play in return.
Killer detection perks need nerfs and map lighting should be returned to how it was pre 2.3.

a solid no, you're comparing alpha squads to 1 person alone against them. There's different odds and if anything survivor feels like a breeze. Dead Hard, DS, MOM, Adrenaline etc. Oh but i'm sweaty for using BBQ or Ruin, or NOED.
i vastly disagree at the game's current state
4 Man Alpha Squads sound like the most boring thing yo play on a Sunday afternoon.
You sit behind a Gen, click m1 for 3 minutes and that's the game. Uh no BORING..
Sometimes I DC from deranking killers because it's boring as heck.
-
Then do a three Gen strategy, duh.

This is void when you consider just how rare it is that gens are close enough that you can patrol them all before at least one is done.

So what? Git gud or git out. Thats how it works in other games.
Killers should get out then because they're not getting good enough.
-
I do not agree with this idea.
All the sweaty survivors will be in Quick Match, while all the sweaty killers will be Ranked.
This kind of separate game mode doesn't work in a severely imbalanced asymmetrical game like this. That's why the Devs don't do it, 3 years later.
Basically killers are still going to have hell in Quick Match, Survivors are still going to have hell in Ranked.

Being a killer on PS4 is very stressful. My secret to success is that I ready up immediately and don’t pay attention to the lobby. Then I ignore pips and whack survivors with blunt objects until I get me points. It’s quite therapeutic.
Yeah I don't really play seriously enough to study lobby etc. I play the game to have fun. If I die or if the survivors don't die so be it. When I'm in lobby I am basically posting here hehe.
-
That's a little too strong. My suggestion is it gives you the opportunity to open a closed hatch by tugging on it, as if you were opening an exit gate, but it takes 40 seconds, so you don't have much margin for error to find it after the Killer closes it.

@Cymer said:
The stupid fun part is, most of the issues with killers and survivors can be cleared if you put in some time to learn the other side too.
I simply don't get it why people rather complain than just try and figure thing out in their own.
Having trouble playing against survivors?
Play some survivors, it will teach you, how you perceive the game and what are the typical reaction of a survivor.
Having trouble against a killer?
Play that killer for a while and you will learn what and why works for them and what counters the killer and it's powers.
You will learn and improve so much!
Today I had a match as the hag and got flammed for toxic play. But non of the survivors ever crouched to avoid the traps while unhooking. So the piled up in the basement...a hags dream.
(No ruin or similar, just Franklin's against the 3 toolboxes)
Playing the other side definitely helps.
But in this case those survivors were just potatos who didn't learn the game. You don't need to play Hag to learn that. I don't even have hag unlocked but I understand how to counter her.

i wanted to be kind but when i heard derank you should be ban and never find a game again.
I don't derank on purpose like killers do.
I derank because I get killed. I.e. -- I wasn't good enough so I lost pips.
Man I still haven't found a game. I'm pushing 3 minutes now. I have an awful lot of time to post as a result.
-
I have never hatch camped. I am always either productive (although that doesn't necessarily mean doing gens) or evading to avoid death.
But I get tons of hatch escapes, I play towards it and even build towards it. But I never just camp the hatch, even when I have gotten a key I still go for unhooks or do gens and never play it safe. I let the chips fall where they may, if I get caught even with the key then so be it, I won't leave teammates out to dry (unless they pissed me off big time which is very rare).
-
Heh well my PC is not good right now so I also don't get consistent 60fps. It's pretty annoying, I know the feeling.
-
By the way, does this mean on PS4 nobody plays Killer? I'd imagine playing killer is significantly harder on PS4 compared to PC.
As for luck, well, one or two games would be luck. But tonight all my survivor games take more than a minute to get into a lobby.
-
@Redd said:
Why not try the other role?
You act as if I have never played Killer.
And no, not a joke. Survivor Queues for me are usually 5 seconds. Tonight my queues are going 2 mins or so. And I'm playing Solo. Very unusual.
-
When I survive I like to be a potato so other amazing godly survivors can really show their stuff.
-
So it's like a Hag that sets portals instead of traps? Isn't the teleport distance a little too low?
