Creators presented Freddy as killer with some special abilities - permanently invisible, with simple and smooth skills - put someone to sleep, then you are able to attack it. I like that, thats why i bough this DLC. And after while it gets complete rework, with senseless Traps OR fake pallets (Why THOSE skills? Is it somehow connected to original movie? Why ONE of those skills? Why teleport to generators? Why invisible ONLY in designated range? It really makes no sense). By my opinion Freddy became from "top fun" killer, to one of most useless and boring killers in game!!!

Its like when you buy new Porshe, after while you HAVE TO go to car service and get out from there with Fiat.

I really dont like this "scam".

Sorry, the ToS (Terms of Service), which you agreed to, state that anything currently present in the game can be subject to change later on.

honestly, if you ask me, in freddys case it was for the better. they changed the, at that time, worst killer in the entire game to an absolute nightmare to play against (pun intended).

freddy has gotten tons of cool new mechanics without having any major downside, while old freddy had only few upsides compared to many incredibly harsh downsides (such as an survivors invulnerability while awake).

and since you asked why only one of the dream traps, this has two different reasons:

    1) balance. it would be immensly broken to let freddy have not only the snares but also the dream pallets.

    2) he'd have too many abilities, as he now had multiple power abilities and a passive ability. this would mean that you'd have to add an extra button just for him having multiple abilities, so he'd have snares with M2, gen teleport with CTRL and fake pallets with another button to press. that'd be a little too much at some point, honestly.

  • @StrickxNyne said:

Yeah, the store still says Freddy is the old way then when you hit buy he's not that's definitely false advertising. Can't claim someone has something for a sale then it not be there. Also Freddy was insanely hard the old way, now we can run circles around him so I fully see why you want a refund. I never won an old Freddy game and now I win nearly every single one. Not being able to see Freddy and him hitting me which hurt and put me to sleep made original Freddy nearly impossible to beat, he essentially got a free hit.

i highly doubt you ever played the old freddy.

or you forgot the /s, one of the two.

ill make it short: old freddy was said to be the worst killer in the game - for a good reason.

his power literally worked against him and it was 100% luck dependent whether it would benefit you or they got rid of it immediately.

the new version is an overall improved killer, who is even considered to be top tier. i highly doubt that you have a much easier time against him nowadays.

  • so i played Legion (i currently play him a lot, idk why) and faced this super toxic SWF. like, multiple flashlights, an OoO guy with a clicky click and all in all just extremely annoying.

they were also pretty solid on gens and did 3 of them by the time i got one of the toxics down (not the 1st hook, but finally the guy that was staring at me with OoO all the time). he crawled into shack pallet, i picked him up and heard footsteps rushing towards me.

i was able to dodge the pallet stun however and downed the person that threw the pallet.

uppon hooking the first guy, another one ran into the shack and started healing their friend. i broke the pallet and they went down super easily. i now had 2 slugged inside the shack and one hooked at the corner hook in the shack.

long story short: i had 2 hooked and one slugged with no intention to leave this area, as it was super obvious the 4th was just waiting around to go for the save. i thought i heard crows at one point, so i went away from my proxy camp and checked, whoch allowed him tp slip past to get the OoO user from the hook - who immediately ran at the other guys hook. i downed him right in front of it and had no intention to pick him up within the next minute, though the 4th also got the slugged up, so i had something to do. i injured the 4th during this process and reslugged the 3rd.

the hooked guy and the OoO user both ragequit (endchart revealed both had DS btw), so i hooked the 3rd guy, found and closed hatch (which i discovered earlier when i got looped by the OoO guy). found feng at an gate and ended with a 4k.

    the moral of the story?

you are not the only ones that can be toxic, dear survivors. piss me off and i wont let you go once i got you.

  • sadly your loud af bell allows them to make enough distance to reach the next loop before you get to end the chase quickly.

the only way to avoid that would be by using an ultra rare add on, which is not gonna be available at all times.

  • wraith is a very simple killer. he is easily loopable and i see not a single reason as to why he should be considered above avaerage.

in the end, he is one of the most average killers out there. not bad, but also definitely not strong enough to hold up to the top tiers.

i always say: if you end chases quickly as wraith, you are gonna end them twice as fast with hillbilly.

  • this was implemented by the devs for Paulie Esther as a hint to where the golden toolbox was hidden on the map.

here, ill link you his video on the subject:

Cause u haven't read everything sometimes I wonder if we even play the same game twice in 2 days some know it all trys to say I'm wrong

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/286/5Z58NKDABSFO.jpg

there are different variations of bodyblocking, with only a specific kind of them actually being against the rules.

the report option you have shown is sadly not very specific in that regard, so let me get rid of some confusion here:

the bodyblocking that is referred to here is performed by the killer, where he blocks a survivor in a corner for extended periodes of time without allowing them to leave, therefore taking away their ability to play the game.

this is, with a video of the killer doing it for too long, a reportable offense that can lead to a ban.

however, the bodyblocking performed by survivors to help their team out is perfectly fine, due to the killer being able to do something against it - namely hit them. there are even specific perks / point score events just for this kind of behavior ("protection" hits - MoM literally requires one to do this).

in the end, bodyblocking is not reportable, unless its done by the killer for extended periodes of time (no you wont be reportable for blocking someone in a corner and chainsawing them right afterwards, dont worry).

  • no thanks.

i dont like the survivor playstyle that much - and i wouldnt want to piss off the killers i play with for "the greater good".

  • @Peanits said:

We are not. We have mentioned multiple times that if something needs to change about gen times, we're happy to take a look into it. Unfortunately we cannot do that when 80% of red ranked killers are using a perk that covers it up- it makes it impossible to tell what actually needs to be done. We'll keep an eye on it.

im sorry, but isnt the simple fact that more than 80% of the high rank playerbase uses the exact same perk and sees it as a "mandatory killer perk" proof enough that something might be wrong there?

like, even with old ruin there was an constantly ongoing debate about gens being done too fast - and ive seen sooo many people agreeing to that. it is really surprising to me that you didnt see that.

    again:

i support these changes, but i can not support the time they get implemented. you should have done something about gen speed first.

it doesnt even have to be overall genspeed, but early game gen speed. earlygame is what ruin was used for, earlygame is where killers have literally no map pressure and survivors have all cards in their hands. they have a full team, they have all the pallets and windows, the killer hasnt been able to get a snowball going on yet, etc.

  • i am here o/

  • i like their idea of new ruin.

it could be buffed a little, honestly, though i am happy with what they did there.

what i am NOT happy with is that they implemented it now.

they should have waited until they came up with an solution to fix the ridiculous survivor objective time.

but just taking away something mandatory to many many players without compensating for what they took is wrong imo.

  • i personally see nancy and steve quite a lot.

their perks however are more of a rare sight, due to them not being meta (but gimmicky and fun).

for the map, i have the feeling there are many maps i see very rarely. hawkins is by far not the only one. though i have to admit i dont dislike the map - it looks super amazing!

  • i wouldnt go as far as to say killer games are "frustrating" (yeah some are - especially if its an SWF that wants to be toxic and you cant get them or if all 5 gens are done in like 5 minutes or less), but killer games are stressfull.

like, the amount of pressure put on you all game is immense, therefore its easier to get frustrated when things dont go your way.

in the end, i enjoy killer more than survivor, so the game cant be THAT frustrating for killer (though, if i can say so myself, i am a rather good killer, therefore i probaply win a lot of matches others wouldnt).

it all depends on the player though. some get easily annoyed - and i can definitely see why killer would be pure frustration for them.

just imagine this one dude, who has been looping you rather well, finally screwing up, giving you a chance to down them, just to then deadhard back into safety. THAT is frustrating for a lot of players - and its not very uncommon.

so concluding i would say that killer is not that frustrating, even though there can be frustrating events / games. there is however a lot more pressure one needs to deal with, which is something not all can handle --> leading to frustration.

  • i use BBQ & Chili, Pop Goes The Weasel, Thanatophobia and Brutal Strength.

  • i played Doc.

i attacked my own illusion, thinking it was a survivor...

i am not proud of it xD

  • i always hort the good stuff and refuse to use it...

like, i have almost 400 red mories on my account now! HELP!

    Edit: i counted them. 596. holy #########.

It depends on what kind of playstyle you're into, in that case. Who has been your favourite killer(s) so far, and why?

nono, thats not particulary what i was trying to ask.

i wanted you to look at the killers and pick your favourite - and tell me why you chose that way.

the thing with all of these killers is, that i dont really like them / i really suck at playing them, which is why they are still unleveled characters.

if i were to look at the killers i enjoy most, their powers are all across the board, honestly.

i main Trapper, however i can also find great joy in playing Hillbilly, Ghostface or Doctor.

and i aim at having everyone maxed out and being able to play them efficiently, so all of them will get their turn - the question is just: who shall be the next one?

still, thanks for trying to sort out the one i'd enjoy most xD

  • that sounds really cool!

i didnt know that, thanks for the heads up :D

now regarding your idea, do we know if Ruin works with pop? and if so, how will it work? will it just apply pop to the next gen that starts regressing? in that case the survivors might actually be able to play around it by getting a random gen to 1% and then letting ruin pop it down to 0% again.

and does surge work while ruin is up?

does surge apply pop even when someone is currently working on the gen? (i hope so xD)

i think im gonna test that out when the new update releases... that sounds like there are some very interesting combos that'd be worth a shot.

  • damn...

some players need to figure out the difference between "camping" and "defending the hook"...

  • (judging from what ive seen on the PTB)

i have a couple of problems with his changes:

    1) the cooldown after the shocktherapy

this is too long imo and is lacking an animation that shows you how long it will take you to be able to attack again. usually players will, uppon hitting their shock therapy, walk up to the survivor and spam M1 until they are able to attack again.

if they wanted to buff him, that would have been a great thing to do: reduce the time between attacks and shock therapy.

    2) static blast going on a 60 second cooldown even without hitting anyone

another thing i disliked was, how the static blast would be on a 60 second cooldown, even without getting any use out of it.

one of the first things ive suggested was to reduce the static blast base cooldown and increase it uppon hitting someone. that way a missed static blast would allow you to recharge it faster, while, uppon hitting people with it, you would be unable to spam it.

also it should inflict them with the 2.5 second stun the shock therapy gives them. i dont think that was the case during the PTB.

calm add ons could state that the static blast would always be on a 60 second cooldown (since that'd be something you want to have now)

    3) the snapping out of it nerf

i honestly dont really mind a missed skillcheck only resetting 25% of the progress bar. lets be honest, that was only punishing to new players, since experienced players wouldnt miss these skillchecks anyway.

however, i dont like how it now resets your madness back to tier 1 and how you can save your progress bar.

imo you should have to look for a safe location to snap out of it instead of being able to adjust your position whenever you need it. i also dont know how exactly that works with the paused progres bar: will it reset uppon being shocked again? or will you be able to dodge any shock attacks by staying at 99% and then onetapping yourself to get back to madness 1 when the killer is not around? i didnt test that tbh, so if you know you can tell me down below xD

my main problem with getting reset to tier 1 is, that sysptoms wont apply to you there. i religiously use restraint (which, thank entity, they didnt touch) and now id have to keep them all in tier 2, since tier 3 would have a large drawback now. that would basically stop me from using the shock therapy during chases, as i would want to avoid them hitting tier 3, so i dont lose my illusions.

lets see what happens when the changes hit live though.

i honestly cant wait for the new lerys. that map is amazing!

The idea is "you used this broken tactic/item/perk/whatever, so you didn't actually beat me, the whatever did"

    Which is silly.

those are just excuses they try to find to justify their loss without admitting they might have played wrong.

you are definitely right, these are just silly.

    silly and hilarious xD

  • i think a shrine of secrets rework would be great, where every perk is available for a basic shard price, however every week 2 killer and 2 survivor perks get selected randomly to get a discount.

that way new players would be able to get all the perks they want with playtime without being forced to buy certain (cough cannibal cough) chapters with real money.

and maybe, if a perk was bought via the shrine, the perk should be added to your perks immediately on level 1?

i would also like to have perks level up passively by using them in games. that'd be a neat thing imo.

  • i always find it hilarious when ppl tell you you "had no skill" when you just beat them...

like, if you had no skill, what would that make them?

but they never think that far...

    also:

wow i havent seen "BbQ Op" in ages. and in red ranks? damn.

some people just won the lottery to get up there, didnt they? xD

  • just saying:

last time ive faced corrupt me and 2 others would sneak in circles around the affected gen until corrupt went away. it was actually fun (well, besides the fact that that one guy cheated by using urban evasion and therefore winning the race) xD

by the time the plague came to check on the gen, the 2 minutes had passed.

yeah she DCed before we could get the gates open :/ would have been a 4 man escape.

and idk about the others, but i was solo queueing.

the thing is, we wasted her perk by stalling it out. she didnt get any benefit from this slow down, as no pallets were used, no one got infected and nothing happened that somehow progressed her game. she just lost her early game slow down perk for nothing.

and thats the problem with corrupt: yes, it is a great perk IF you get a momentum going early on. however, if you dont its entirely useless.

its really rare that you actually have some time to waste.

i personally stopped playing killer excessivley a long time ago. im currently playing a couple of matches in the evening and thats it, nothing big.

i still dont understand how many content creators can stream killer for like 6 hours straight, to me that would be undoable xD

Woah bros, I thought I already explained earlier that killers can set up a 3gen from the start of the game, and that whether survivors get 3genned is sometimes out of their controoool. But apparantely killers can't camp gens from the start of the game, I probably missed that reeeeeeally obvious detail, right?

when a killer only defends 3 gens, why didnt you pressure them earlier?

a 3 gen is usually not that good, all you need to do is have one survivor on each gen and the killer is screwed - thats easily doable when he has been ignoring you all game / you do it early on.

and when the killer gets to your gen? run towards the other side of the map - he follows you? the others get the gens done. he doesnt? go back to your gen asap.

the killer can not pressure all 3 gens at once, he is going to lose one at some point.

and if he isnt chasing you or hooking anyone, he lost the game.

  • okay, but when i dont hook anyone i will still lose.

and if they dont do that for extended periodes of time (while still making it impossible for you to progress), its reportable :o

nevertheless, it is still YOUR fault, as the survivor, that you even got 3 genned in the first place, mate.

Woah, its almost like the improved regression allows you to camp the totem and the 3 gens closest to it, which makes it so you caaaaan't really cleanse it, isn't it?

Also, Bean, from what I've seen you type you're not really the brightest of the bunch, so I'ma be extra clear here. I know they didn't go ahead with it, the issue I have is that they even thought it was an option in the first place. The fact the devs thought it would be ok to blindfold us instead of fixing an issue clearly shows how they don't really care about fixing the bugs in the game. Was I more clear? With people like you, I never know.

yeah just camp 3 gens and a totem at the same time as you chase and hook the survivors who, if they have a brain, will run to the other side of the map to prevent you from doing exactly that.

why didnt i ever think of that...?

  • when writing things like this, you need to put an "/s" at the end, otherwise some might take it serious...

and in case you were actually serious, play some high rank killer yourself.

  • dude, chill.

    the devs thought of that.

its a hex perk after all.

thats literally the reason why they made the perk basically useless in 99.5% of the games, because its good for 3 gen scenarios (which are usually the survivors fault anyway, but we cant punish them for that), so they made it a hex that gets killed before they even pop 2 gens anyway.

  • @Xerge said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/990650#Comment_990650

If you are close enough to the exit gates and they're opened you could crawl or use ds if the killer picks you up.

do you have any idea how rare this scenario is?

also, you, the survivor, screwed up. why do you want ANOTHER second chance? you already have tons and tons of these already!

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Killers should stop crying, seriously. They are acting if Ruin was the only reason they won games, which is simply not the case. They are acting as if the Ruin Changes mean that Killers cannot use M1 anymore.

Only because a Perk which is not even that good and gets worse the better the Survivor are gets changed.

you missed the point of 95% of the complaints.

we are NOT complaining about the nerf itself (imo thats a pretty cool idea actually) - we are complaining about them taking away the #1 tool to slow down early game, but dont do ######### to help us compensate for that.

their timing is god awful. they should not touch ruin until they finally come up with an idea to fight genrush - and especially early game is important for that.

THATS what we are complaining about - the time they implement this nerf.

sure, there would also be complaints when they release the ruin rework together with secondary objectives (or any other way to actually slow down the game), but these wouldnt have been nearly as bad as the huge shitstorm that has been going on now.

oh and have you read the dev notes? those were super survivor biased. so thats another thing that set many players, including me, off.

  • so you can be instadowned, slugged for 1 minute and then rehooked?

why waste everyones time, the match is over at that point.

  • stun a killer 4 times with a pallet at red ranks.

i use it quite a lot too.

not on every killer ofc, killers who want a big TR (like Doc) or killers who already have a good stealth ability (like Wraith or Ghostface) dont need it, however everyone else can make some good use from it.

i always use it on my Trapper, Billy and Myers, though it can also appear on my other killers.

  • yes.

when i started playing without ruin, i looked around for replacement perks.

i used sloppy butcher a lot when it got buffed, however when the "dont heal, reapir and equip adreanwin" meta started that perk was basically useless, so i switched to pop.

it is now a perk that is present in most of my killer loadouts.

and dont forget that when they released these stats the Trapper tome was out, which required you to eigther play as him or use his teachables.
