  • why would i waste a perk slot for that?

i just go over to the furthest gens and force them off of them myself, then pop their progress down.

the only killer i can see this perk working on is Trapper, maybe Hag - because they are setup killers who cant just walk over there and interrupt it themselves.

  • one of us

    one of us

    ONE OF US

  • the future they talked about doesnt have to be now though?

they never said that this legendary skin was going to get special sound design, it was you who made that assumption.

  • fun fact: if you play the game, you wont be punished.

the punishment only comes in when you decide that you, despite being in a game right now, no longer wish to play it and quit early.

you do understand that this is a MULTIPLAYER game, right?

just because you dont like something, doesnt mean that you have the right to ruin the experience of four other players.

Where do people get this its +- 6 Ranks at? Was it something from years ago that they said and people still believe for some reason?

I started playing in January and matchmaking has never worked keeping people I play within 6 ranks.

yeah, because matchmaking has been broken for years now.

its supposed to be + - 6 ranks

  • as a Rank 6, you actually are in the rank range to be matched with Rank 1s.

its always + - 6 Ranks, so this matchup is actually something a functioning matchmaking system could provide you with.

  • so you dont like it, which justifies it being taken away from everyone?

if you dont like it, just close it. thats why the feature is there to begin with, so people who, like you, dislike the chat can have it inactive, while everyone else can use it.

you're basically trying to force your opinion on other people here, even though you already have all the freedome you need to take care of your "problem" without having to restrict others.

i for once like having a good chat with the others in endgame. whether that be with my survivor teammates, the killer, a specific player or generally everyone doesnt matter, its always nice to have.

@C3tooth found one where the trapper's traps can spawn inside of objects on the reworked maps:

If he could repost the picture here confirming it that would help as Idk how to quote cross thread on this forums.

hey cool, ANOTHER downside to this stupid mechanic of him havint to run across the entire map to get his power.

    sigh

  • thanks ^^

i just checked again, nope i dont have it.

has this been reported to the bug report section already?

  • i didnt get it, apparently.

out of curiosity: is it a side specific charm? and what rarety does it have?

  • Caleb "The Deathslinger" Quinn

    1. His Redeemer - more specifically the playstyle it offers, which is vastly different to any other Killers playstyle
    2. Reeling in long range shots - Sniper score events on their own are always super satisfying
    3. His laugh

yeah i think i can officially say that i moved on from being a Trapper main for so long. Sorry Evan, but unless the Devs finally listen and give you the major buff(s) you need to be viable, i simply enjoy playing this man a lot more.

  • at some point you just come to accept that there are some things you simply cant beat.

which means you wont get triggered by it anymore, which in return allows you to keep playing.

for example, i just had a very, very sweaty 4 man SWF (4 good items, everyone stacked with meta perks and super coordinated on gens) that obviously tried to upset me as good as they could. you know, teabagging in the exit gate and, when they didnt get the reaction they wanted, one of them resorted to spamming "ez" in the end chat.

a single look at their perks was enough to confirm to me that i didnt really stand a chance from the beginning anyway. 4 DS, multiple Unbreakable and BTs, Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Lithe, you get the idea (plus i was playing a rather casual killer, who definitely wasnt my strongest, with weak Add Ons).

instead of triggering me, all they achieved was confirming my suspicion that none of them could survive without bringing all the OP stuff they had (they were pretty medicore players - only one of them was actually decent. everyone else just ran as far away from the gens as they could, so their mates could rush them easily in chases and then got mindgamed at the very first loop they actually tried playing on), which just made me more sad than anything.

still got 26k BP tho, which combined with BBQ was a very nice thing to have.

  • we got a lot of meme fodder.

    i approve of these cosmetics.

  • killersided hitreg.

it always looks perfectly fine for the killer.

  • right now would be because i'd rather finish my Tour of Duty in hopes of getting an aussie drop.

usually i pretty much only play killer though, unless friends want to play with me / i gotta do some tome challenges.

  • the killer i find to be the most annoying to face would be a Blight with Ruin Undying Tinkerer.

so basically every Blight out there...

"gamesense to predict and dodge incoming shots"

Once he reloaded, yo ucan't predict when he will shoot. It's quickscope, on a straight line from a loop to another, you can't know when he will shoot, it has nothing to do with game sense lol.

But guys, as you are pros, go on a game in red rank, find a gunslinger and record the game, post the video here, we are waiting.

Also, do the same against other killers listed in my 1st post.

And don't post Noob3 or Ayrun videos cause clearly there are only 2 players like them in DbD, no one else is nowhere near their skill level.

BTW, Noob3 stopped playing because balance problems and bugs and servers :).

... i think you should play some Deathslinger.

then you'll get what i mean by "gamesense to dodge shots".

Ahh yes holding m1 on gens is very fun gameplay. Let's be honest chases are the most fun part of the game and when killers just ignore your loops it is frustrating considering it is why most people play the game. Hag is pretty much uncountable unless you know before hand it's hag or are in a swf bc solo teammates are trash. Deathslinger can just suck you around loops and hit you. Ph can still just fake his power and puts you in the lose/lose scenerio and I don't need to talk about spirit because she's almost universally considered anti-fun

first of all, fun is subjective.

regarding your "i cant loop them into oblivion" part, have you ever considered that maybe you will have to loop them differently than you do with any other killer?

yeah, if you try to loop a Deathslinger the way you would loop a Wraith you are going to die. every time.

Deathslinger, despite his great chasing ability is still loopable. you just need to use LoS blockers to your advantage and use gamesense to predict and dodge incoming shots.

you cant loop him as long as you can loop a Wraith, but you can still run him around for a bit - same applies to the others aswell.

Hag is someone you dont want to loop around her setup, so leave that area / ruin the setup whenever she cant use it (they should remove that dumb automatic cam focus on her phantom tho)

PHs faking ability has been nerfed just recently and while it still is there, you can play around it a lot better now.

Spirit is the only one in here where i think that she'd need some actual changes. first of all a bugfix so you can actually hear her footsteps again and then they should cut the chase music as soon as she goes into phase. that would be all the changes she, imo, needs rn.

I certainly have no problem spotting him when I have line of sight. Most generators have significant obstructions to your vision, though, so the TR is very important for knowing when a killer is nearby. If it's that easy to just spot the tall guy walking to the gen, how is Tinkerer meta?

    exactly:

if he is able to shoot you with no TR, you should have direct LoS to him.

and if you dont have a direct Los to him, you will get his TR as a warning before he can approach you and line up a shot.

and that you brought Tinkerer into this just shows that you dont understand the current meta and why it is the way it is.

Tinkerers stealthy approach has nothing to do with why its "meta" - the perk itself isnt even meta, its just the combination of it with Ruin and Undying. the thing that makes it meta is the early warning a Killer gets whenever a gen is about to be repaired.

This warning allows them to go and interrupt the gen progress and allow Ruin to take effect. This makes this combo of perks on any high map pressure Killer can apply insane amounts of pressure on both generators and totems.

the stealthy approach is a nice bonus to the perk, but its not at all the main reason why it is used in this combo.

  • just walk into basement and let your friendly neighborhood killer hook you 3 times ^^

The only thing Slinger needs is a very slight range buff, but only because I love going for Iri Coin downs but they will be just 1m out or range of it. :(

the problem here is that your chains durability wont be enough to reel them in anymore with an increased range on the gun.

he already struggles reeling in a 17 or 18m shot, so making the shot go further wont help, unless you wanted the chain to break on them to begin with.

  • i think he is fine the way he is.

what you are describing here seems more like a latency issue to me.

which is true - if you have some lag, then hitting a shot with this guy gets ridiculous.

  • probaply Midwich.

visually astounding (and you can see how much love they put into it with all the little secrets and details), but from a gameplay perspective i absolutely despise this map both as killer and survivor.

  • i love him.

amazing design, both from a visual and audio standpoint and a very unique and fun to use power.

the only downside i can see on this killer is that the slightest amount of lag can cost you a lot of shots that (on your screen) should have hit.

oh, and that he destroys solo teams where your mates have no clue how to fight him and all attempt to go for a 5 gen chase instead of fixing the goddamn gens.

How do you use stealth against Deathslinger without Spine Chill or Premonition? Every Deathslinger under the sun runs M&A and his unique TR effectively reduces his TR because it spins up so quietly. As a result the Deathslinger is probably going to be right on top of you by the time you know he's there.

Similarly, how do you break line of sight against a killer that starts chases from so close? You pretty much need to be running Sprint Burst. Otherwise you basically need him to miss a shot, or you need to use the speed boost from getting hit the first time and hope like hell you're near favorable tiles.

The other killers that can be countered by breaking LoS actually give survivors the opportunity to do this. You can break line of sight against Ghost Face and Myers because they have reduced movement speed while they stalk. You can break line of sight against Huntress because she needs to move slowly to charge her hatchet. You can break line of sight against Nurse because she is slower than survivors without using her power and she has a fatigue state after blinking. Deathslinger is roughly 110% throughout and there's basically no tell he's going to use his power, unlike Nurse or Huntress, who both have to loudly and visibly charge theirs. He just quickscopes.

    its called map awareness.

he is a tall guy, you should have no problem spotting him.

you should always be on guard whenever the killer isnt chasing someone else.

if you are not, the killer gets the jump on you and shoots you before you get enough time to react.

dont forget: in order to use the Redeemer, a direct LoS to the target is required.

  • they all have counterplay though...?

Hag - flashlights + ruining her setup whenever she picls someone up

Deathslinger - stealth and LoS blockers

Pyramid Head - stealth and not running in predictable paths

Spirit - when the bug is fixed, listen out for her audio cues, then react accordingly

these killers may be good in chase, but that doesnt mean they had no counterplay.

this game is more than just the chase you have with the killer. and just because the killer can beat you relatively easy in that, doesnt mean that they would automatically beat you in every other aspect of the game.

  • i try not to tunnel.

however, if tunneling is the only choice i have (eigther because they are the only one i found or because i know i need to kill someone now or lose the match), i will do it.

    What is it then?

Edit: and if it's not worth it people should not be complaining

the problem isnt locating the totems, thats fairly easy on most maps. the problem is actually getting them, thanks to the aura reveal Undying provides the killer with.

on a coordinated SWF group, thats not a big problem of course - but for solo players this aura reveal can be devestating.

and as a cherry on top, the survivor just isnt told when their aura has been revealed, so the killer even gets the jump on them.

i dont think a nerf to the perk needs to be as drastic as Otz suggests (where everything that has respawned thanks to Undying gets destroyed when the Undying totem dies), but what they really need to do is to remove the aura reveal.

Iridescent muffler? "A muffler for the Redeemer, fashioned from the fog itself. No sound can pass through it's mysterious body."

    Y E S

  • Deathslinger:

Iridescent Muffler (previously the Iridescent Coin) - thx for the name suggestion @GoodBoyKaru

    • completely silences your gun for anyone outside of a 10m proximity to you

"Death often comes in unexpecting ways" - The Deathslinger

it would be so much more fun than what we currently have...

  • i think they are a little too dark (at least on ultra graphics you cant even keep track of a claudette running in a straight line - i literally have to chase survivors more with hearing and predicting them than actually seeing them...)

other than that i absolutely love the graphical changes!

  • i adore Monitor & Abuse.

granted, people dont exactly view it as a weak perk, but i think its a little underrated. it really messes with me as a survivor - and the a little more stealthy approach is amazing for any killer there is (except Doc - ya know, the guy who introduced this perk into the game xD)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1772803#Comment_1772803

Um... no? The Killer has a dual objective. Kill all the Survivors before they can escape. The Survivors meanwhile only have 1 goal... escape. They have multiple ways of doing so, but still only have that one goal. The Killer patrolling a 3 gen is still doing the second half of his objective. You may not like his methods, but keeping Gens from turning on is part of his objective. Your SWF chilling on the far side of the map is not doing anything to further your objective. Your SWF was indeed holding the game hostage.

    depends.

if they were sneaking around, not letting him find them then its their fault.

if they did not play stealthy though and the killer actively decided to never commit to a chase but instead protect his 3 gen (making it impossible to get anything done), then its the killer who is denying the survivors their ability to progress their objective while simultaneously not progressing their own objective.

holding the game hostage is something both sides can do.

  • Hey ^^

i hope you will enjoy your stay!

  • you just copy pasted the "the game is too easy for survivor" discussion with reverse roles, didnt you?

  • i dont think Tinkerer is the perk that needs adjustments in that build.

its already very medicore on its own and on killers without good map pressure its pretty useless most of the time.

i think we should just remove the aura reading from Undying, honestly.

  • when the survivors are doing nothing but hiding for extended periodes of time (so not even attempting to repair gens or cleanse your Hexes, just hiding for the sake of hiding), not progressing their objective at all they are the ones who can get banned for it ("taking the game hostage" - you'll need to provide video evidence for that though)

id say in the swamp scenario you talked about its definitely not a nice move from the guy who busted them, but i doubt anyone will be banned for that, considering the other two were basically AFKing in lockers. at the very least you as the Killer should be safe i'd say.

dunno for sure though, maybe a mod could clarify this?

aight nvm a mod already answered

  • i run Discordance and Pop.

the other two perk slots are different from killer to killer, as i try to use something that goes together well with their power. BBQ & Billy, Monitor and Nurses Slinger, etc.

i highly dislike the Ruin Undying Tinkerer combo, which is why i try to avoid running it as much as i can.

and it has worked so far.

  • pig i'd say.

people really seem to love her, i cant get behind that though.

i highly dislike her RNG traps and i think she doesnt really have that great of a basekit besides them.

  • i play to win.

im trying to be a nice killer / survivor, but that doesnt mean i wouldnt tunnel someone if they were the only one i found or that i wouldnt loop you into oblivion.

im trying to avoid toxicity though.

  • i usually dont enter a trial with an item.

so you could say i too am running open handed (:

  • so you're telling me we can not only get a meme outfit for Billy, but also a meme outfit that FITS PERFECTLY INTO HIS LORE?

i mean, the Devs have no choice now, do they?

Once bloodlust is back you should see a few more killers and a shorter queue.

seeing how its already been like this for months before this experiment, i doubt thats gonna change a lot.

  • its been like that for a while now.

probpaply because we have more survivors playing than killers, so it takes longer for surviovors to find a lobby while killers are almost instant

  • @Kolonite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1768247#Comment_1768247

I think they did originally and then made more survivor challenges because of queue times getting longer.

    thats horribly outdated then.

currently survivors are the ones with the long waiting times, so shouldnt they want to have more people play killer now?

  • and thanks to the 11 / 7 ratio they have you'll be able to enjoy survivor a LOT more :D

seriously, how hard can it be to give both sides the same amount of challenges?

there has been ONE tome level so far in all the existing tomes where there were actually more killer challenges than survivor challenges (it was one more and it was in Tome 1 Level 4)

  • yeah, its easy.

just play 25 hours a day and you'll be done in time ^^
