  • oh im gonna get shat on so much for saying this...

    because they are not overpowered.

the overpowered Add Ons are the Leather Loop and Infantry Belt.

remove those two and suddenly the Iridescent Head is significantly weaker than before in a spot where imo its actually a little worse than just not running it at all.

They started buffing killers late 2016 and early 2017 when player base was literally dying. I remember waiting with my friends for a game for 45 minutes and no game. Even as a solo survivor high rank wait times were sometimes ridiculous, killer queque were instant. Then they gave massive killer buffs to recover the killer playerbase and later removed a lot of the buffs slowly. At one point there was barely any pallets, which again got reverted few patches later.

maybe that was because pallets are kind of needed for survivors to be able to play the game?

their new policy is "have a lot of unsafe pallets around" - you wont have scenarios wherethere are only like 5 pallets on a map, but if the killer is good they can play around every pallet and achieve hits. there are only very few exceptions to this ("god pallets").

killers are not in a bad spot right now. not at all.

  • Legion.

people are gonna hate me for this, but imo they are not a bad killer.

they are definitely not a top tier killer, but they can be quite dangerous to go up against.

Mkay 1 and 2 are right,

3 is objectively false, bloodlust 1 is after 15 seconds and ontop of that pallets and windows may not be able to be looped indefinitely but the fact that they can stall a killer and the only option is to LITERALLY GIVE UP is bad freakin design.

    4. This alone doesnt but with their comments over several patches, I would argue it is an obvious thing they do care more about the survivor experience than the killer one.

    5. Well good for you but a lot of people are noticing it, and even if it isnt a big change it is still important to note!

    3) is exactly what this experiment is for. they want to find out whether loops like that still exist and if they can deactivate BL now or if their maps need further balance changes first.

    4) seeing how the game has developed over the years, i have to disagree. if they really preferred the survivor experience so much more than the killer experience, a lot of the later killer buffing patches would have never made it in. i agree that they have had some poor wording at times though, they could improve that a little xD

    1) change of ruin was an "experiment" initially.

    2) I see you don't think its an experiment either since you've already changed your position to saying BL isn't needed.

    3) Correct. A killer getting BL 3 is bad at chasing. Taking it away will just make this already bad killer do even worse. Matchmaking may be the main issue here, but BL helped a bit in these cases. Removing it will only make such killers do even worse.

    4) I can give a long list of killer nerfs if you'd like. It's not just this "one" time they've nerfed killers.

    5) Good killers wont notice it since good killers dont bloodlust. Its faster to successfully mind game chases or play loops properly. Like I said, this will mainly impact bad killers, making them do even worse than they already are (allowing survivors to bully them even more).

    1) no it wasnt. it was an intentional nerf to the perk - they didnt need to test it, as they already had all the data they needed.

    2) its still an experiment. the experiment isnt about whether BL should stay or go, thats already decided. its about whether now is a good time to get rid of it or not.

    3) but thats the point of it: killers who can currently only hold their rank with BL are supposed to derank into a more friendly environment for them. one that allows them to play without struggeling every game, one where they meet people of their skill level and can have a good time instead of going against people who are better than them and who keep kicking their ace. Matchmaking is definitely the main issue here, i completely agree. one that i really hope is going to be fixed soon.

    4) and i can give you a long list of survivor nerfs / killer buffs. again: they dont favor one side over the other. both get changed constantly, which usually leads to the community calling the devs "survivor sided" anytime a killer nerf goes through and "killer sided" anytime a survivor nerf goes through.

    5) this ties in a lot with 3), but also try looking at it from the other side. imagine you play survivor and your skill level is way above the killers. imagine you outplay them hard and they just get faster and faster until all your mindgames have become obsolete and they just catch you because the game did the work for the killer - you dont deserve to be on that hook now, getting facecamped to death while watching your team opening the gates and leaving, thats just unfair.

so can we agree that once matchmaking is fixed and matches games fairly for both sides, aswell as the older maps being reworked to fight some of the loops that are unfair without it, BL isnt needed anymore?

  • we need snowballs we can throw at each other.

    that'd be fun.

  • 1) its an experiment. its only for a few days.

    2) they explicitly said that Bloodlust was only going to be a temporary fix to how unbalanced maps were when they first introduced it. now with the map reworks its no longer needed on a lot of maps.

    3) bloodlust rarely ever helped you win to begin with. if you needed bloodlust to down someone, you already lost simply because you have no map pressure and gens are gonna get done faster than you can hook people.

    4) no, just because they nerfed killers this time does not automatically make the devs survivor sided.

    5) i barely even noticed the change in my games.

  • "Leprose Lichen(New)-Downing a Survivor will causes any survivors nearby to Scream, become Oblivious & gain the Blindness Effect for the Next 15 Seconds"

so the're gonna scream for 15 seconds?

poor guys, their lungs must hurt after that (:

  • you pick the killer, you expect to lose from the very start and then you just go at it.

you'll be losing a lot, but once you get the hang of it you can see yourself improving more and more.

and if its a 115% mms killer you can always just fall back to "normal" killergameplay if you cant handle their power yet, which makes them easier than their 110% mms collegues.

This nerf was very likely intended to combat pig dash and probably demo. That being said, I mean, come on bro even though the dash is nuts it's pretty overly restricted in how you get tokens and even without the nerf this perk is honestly a meme trash tier perk, nerfing this reminds me of gearhead.

its still restricted to 5 times a match.

honestly, just let them have something cool for once... its not like it was going to cheese them every single chase they take

  • oh no, how frightening!

and i bet the next rarity level aflicts Haemorrhage, does it not?

how are survivors ever going to deal with such huge negative effects...

  • i think there is going to be a charm shop at some point.

though i would like to have the tier 70 charms to stay exclusive.

  • if you fear a NOED play by the killer, do bones until you reach 1 or 2 gens left.

afterwards only remember totem spots and after the 5th gen pops quickly run from totem to totem to check for NOED.

you can cleanse the totems when you know about the location of all 5, but not before that. otherwise you risk NOED spawning in a location you dont know about which is the least optimal thing that could happen.

  • They had us in the first half, not gonna lie

  • @Blueberry said:

Nerfed an already bad perk basically.

im getting Gearhead vibes from this...

  • i tried playing with two friends (new / havent played in a long time, so both rank 20) and the killers we got were all AFK.

we literally stopped playing and went to a custome game, because all the killers would do each match was sit AFK in one spot, then get NOED and down someone who was trying to get some points in order to facecamp them afterwards.

(one of them was a super obvious bot btw. a Huntress that just stood still and spammed M1 in the same direction, unless someone was in her direct LoS which was when she super weirdls snapped over to the player to hit and then immedately snapped back to facing nothing again)

honestly, i feel like the Devs really gotta do sthg about that.

its really just no fun facing farm bot after farm bot...

imagine that being your introdiction to this game, wouldnt that be absolutely horrible? - i would probaply just think "######### is this broken game" and leave again, honestly.

  • because MMR is going to come back, so they dont see any reason to change it just to change it again later down the line.

  • i LOVE the Deathslingers Mori.

    its just too good

  • i literally had survivors spawn in my LoS a couple of times.

like, i spawn in, the cam goes around my character and i already see them standing on a hill xD

  • honestly, i think Michael Myers achieved that already.

i still remember when he dropped, it ment a lot to everyone who played back then.

I do run kindred in my solo build. Damn you all seem to be surviving quite a bit!

tbf, i have a rather stealthy approach, so i'm usually the one doing the objective.

the problem with solo survivor is, that you cant really rely on your team - and when you do, well, you die more often than not.

you always gotta play like you have been matched with teammates like that:

    DbD Matchmaking in a Nutshell.png

i have no idea how in the world this happened btw.

as a solo player my lobby should NOT look like that lol (and i was wondering throughout the whole match ######### my team was doing - yeah i died on first hook)

  • id say i have an escape ration of... idk 60% to 70%?

in case you're not currently using it, i highly recommend you run Kindred.

    Its an amazing solo perk.

  • the only thing in here that i can agree on is that the Deep Wound screen is too dark.

    everything else, no.

he is definitely not in a spot where he would deserve a nerf. He is solide mid tier, low top tier at best.

  • oh if you dont like the 15 minute timeout you will have a bad time when you do it again...

    id advise you not to.

. As I said countless times the only thing Undying really needs is there have the Aura reading taken away and given to something like thrill of the hunt instead.

Undying becomes a gamble passive protection that you don't have to invest too much time into if you have to hope you're lucky

Thrill of the hunt gets turned into more of a active protection system this will give you a lot at all actually stop people from destroying the totems but you have to put in the work to fully protect them

    i fully agree.

it would be so much more balanced without the aura reveal - or at the VERY least they should limit the aura reveal to Hex totems only.

Anyone who isnt an idiot would treat the totems like those perks are active. Same with BBQ or killers with DS.

luckily the perk reveals anyone near a totem aswell, so you dont even have to be aware of a totems presence to get revealed

and BBQ has a huge tell when it gets activated, while also being a lot easier to dodge (as you arent forced to get revealed by it in order to be able to win, while undying literally forces you to reveal yourself with totems).

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1750682#Comment_1750682

Eh, not really. There's a 50% chance that the hex totem you cleanse is Undying and considering how 90% of the time you'll spawn within 16 meters of a dull (or sometime a Hex if the spawn system bones the killer) thats not a big deal. I also see the auira reveal as a positive as it means the killer either has to drop a chase to stop me giving my teammates more room to breathe or just bite the bullet and let it happen. There's only 3 or 4 killers that can even do anything to stop you provided they're a decent distance away or only see you as the aura fades out.

I think if a few more survivors picked up Small Game complains about Ruin/Undying would fall through the floor and we'd see more killers using Corrupt again.

I'll add also that I've never seen a killer a chase to defend a dull totem. And this works against them because if they don't keep track of how many dulls they see being cleansed they can lose their hexes sooner than they're expecting.

here is why its a big deal:

    1) you have no idea Undying is in effect and are therefore not aware that your aura is currently being revealed to the Killer. You just spawned in and decided to touch a Dull Totem standing around - you dont know which Killer it is or that Ruin is even a thing, therefore you also have no idea that Undying is even a possibility.

    2) the Killer gets an immadiate target right after the game started

this leads to the Killer getting his first chase basicall immediately on a Survivor who not only doesnt expect the Killer to know about him, but is usually also quite outpositioned and has no idea where stuff for chases is.

Otz made a really good example of this when he played Leatherface on The Game. He just spawned and started walking around the map when he suddenly saw a Megs aura. So he went to her location and acted like he was merely passing through the room, to keep the illusion for Meg that he didnt know about her - and 5 seconds later Megan (who was not only horribly outpositioned due to her trying to avoid Killer contact with stealth, but also completely unaware of the fact that Otz was actually targeting her) gets a chainsaw shoved in her face, which won him the game basically right then and there, as he could start his snowball game immediately.

this Meg had no chance to know he had Undying and therefore also no chance to act accordingly.

plus Ruin and Tinkerer made sure that he had a top tier gen defense, so while he was able to push his objective very easily the Survivors objective was incredibly hard to do, as they needed to take care of Ruin Undying first (every time risking getting chased next thanks to the aura reveal of course) and only then were able to touch the gens reliably.

so while that perk combo basically puts the Survivors objective to a halt (or at the very least tremendously increases the time it takes for it to be completed, while also making it extremely risky to do so) it also allows the Killer to get their objective started off pretty much instantly.

you dont need to be a good Killer to consistantly stomp Survivors when using this perk combo.

and if you are a good Killer its basically a free win every game you play.

the only way to counter this build reliably is by playing in an optimal 4 man SWF. Which means that anyone who isnt gets stomped. Which simply isnt healthy for this game.

I suppose that's smart. That said I'm a totem hound so I tend to tap a gen at match start. And if I see Ruin off I go. Unless its an indoors map because its not worth it.

which is where Undying bites you in the ace, because it not only allows the Hex to respawn, but also reveals you to the killer (without telling you) as soon as you get close to any totem.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1750244#Comment_1750244

I'm surprised this seems to have become meta because most if not all killers have a directional audio tell from at least 16 meters away. And thats if the survivor and gen isn't out in the open and they aren't very alert and isn't circling their camera.

The amount of times I've stealth juked a Micheal or Pig because I heard their breathing from a mile away without LoS is too high to count.

its not about the killer actually sneaking up on them, its about the notification they get, which allows them to get the survivors off the gen and Ruin to take care of it.

  • i bought it.

its a good cosmetic, i dont mind having all the pieces.

  • you do know that NOED isnt active while the hatch is open, right?

it only activates AFTER you closed it and the Exit Gates get powered.

so unless that hatch scenario took place after all 5 generators were repaired, NOED would not have changed anything about the outcome of it.

today I had 5 matches where one survivor was AFK, a minute passes and the match gets cancelled for the rest of the players

    currently experiencing exactly that.

tried playing two games now and both got cancelled like a minute into the match

  • fun is subjective.

if all you enjoy is running the killer around all game then no, you wont like him.

if you can enjoy the small things (like correctly predicting a shot and dodging it or succesfully avoiding contact with the killer) then yeah, you can have lots of fun.

  • might aswell get some BP after the offering screen told me im gonna lose

    Protip: Do gens.

Ruin is useless while u working the gen.

and thats why we slap on tinkerer.

  • why is it so hard to just admit that both are BS?

  • depends on how the survivors use it.

some tend to abuse the perk as an "get out of jail for free card" to unhook in your face / repair a gen in your face and get away with it.

others use it as an anti tunnel perk to get away from the hook and recover, which is where i dont think its getting problematic at all.

its those lose - lose situations that are BS and shouldnt be a thing.

  • those are all reskins of her original shirt though.

its been confirmed that the Silent Hill cosmetics sets are all linked due to licensing reasons, so im sure thats not going to be a rare sight on upcomming licensed skins.

  • welp, that sounds like the equivalent to an Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt + 1st hook Mori Huntress.

dont worry about it too much, there isnt a whole lot you could have done there.

  • number 2 is already a thing though.

you literally get a super loud ringing bell in your ear when he aims at you.

for 3, you'd have to drastically increase the durability of the chain aswell now, as otherwise you wouldnt have enough chain durability to pull them towards you.

and for 5 i'd honestly just want to get the current version of the Iri Coin completely scrapped and instead receive a silencer for his gun. and what exactly do you mean with "infinite range chain"? that there is no limit to how far he can shoot? or that the chain never breaks?

the others sound okay, but how exactly they would affect the game is sthg we cant really tell without playing it. a 24m range on him does seem quite far though.

  • that would make long range snipes (the thing that takes the most skill and is the easiest to escape from already) literally unwinnable for the Killer i fear.

i dont think that Slinger could "survive" a nerf to his chase ability i fear.

thats the only thing he can do, thats the only reason why he is a mid tier killer.

its the only reason why he is not a clown 2.0.

if you want his chase ability nerfed, you need to majorly buff him in other aspects to make up for it.
