Yes, and my engagement was NOT about who has what. My engagement was that you CAN loop Freddy, when you said a very snide comment about survivors "not liking being unable to loop a killer". It had absolutely nothing to do with anything that you've brought off topic. I don't count my hours either, because experience isn't anything if you don't have the data. You only see your experience, but again, not important because you're just trying to derail the thread into "survivor AT MY VERY SPECIFIC RANK have it too easy so all balance should go toward MY experience". You're just trying to poke at people on the other side. Now that I've addressed what MY engagement was about and how it was not similar to yours, I'm done with this.
The topic was about survivors who think Freddy is boring. I said survivors generally don't like anti-loop killers, which is true.
My original comment was on topic.

DS needs deactivation conditions more than anything.
Aside from getting themselves healed, survivors shouldn't have any protection.

IMO there should be 1 killer sided map and 1 surv sided map
LOL most of the maps are survivor-sided. In fact, I don't think any of the maps are truly killer-sided. Although, some are definitely harder for survivors to play on.
-
One of the major problems this game has is the maps are too survivor-sided. When you go up against survivors who know what they're doing, everything becomes clear.

And what you are saying, with your completely off topic tangent, is that non experienced survivors should always die regardless of whether or not they are more experienced than the killer. Because we all know a rank 20 killer vs rank 20 survivors will always get a 4k as is, but now only rank 1 survivors should live because clearly the maps need to be catered to the best killers. Either way, if you're not gonna talk about the topic, then I'm just gonna stop replying. So continue to go off on your off topic survivor vs killer tangent if you wish, I'm not gonna be here for it anymore.
You engaged with me first. And I tried to explain to you why this game has issues.
If you won't take my word for it, ask any of the veteran players. Many of them will tell you the same thing.
Once you acquire thousands of hours like me, you've already experienced everything this game has to offer. Which is why I'm confident with my statements.

Okay, then why does it matter? Boosted killers also skew the numbers. There will also be games with boosted killers vs boosted survivors. That makes the data accurate?
There are four survivors. All it takes is one weak link to bring the whole team down.
I've played this game at rank 1 on both sides for a long time. With that experience, I've learned why DbD has balance problems. It's because the devs refuse to balance around good players.

Are you saying that it's impossible for there to be bad killers at higher ranks as well?
I'm sure there are boosted killers as well.

Those statistics were at rank 1 I believe?
Here's the thing. There are a lot of really bad players that muddy the numbers. Many of these players should not be ranking up, they need to stay in brown ranks.
When good survivors are involved, the balance of DbD changes drastically. Unfortunately, the devs balance around bad players.

Again, disagree. Most survivor sided map before map changes was 53% kill rate. That's 2 kills on average. Many things have changed in favor of killers SINCE those changes, so I don't see how that makes much sense. Doesn't matter though as this is just an opinion, none of this is fact aside from the statistic I just mentioned.
I didn't call for nerfs, and I don't think this original post said anything about nerfs either. If anything I think Freddy needs to be reworked again. He's not fun, he just wins because a lot of things are in his favor just because. He's the Darius/Warwick/Caitlyn/Lux/Soraka(with even less skill expression of all of those champions) of Dead By Daylight, but with a likely better win rate. I'd like to keep the pallets, but all the other passive bonuses are just boring and there's no real reward for playing him because he doesn't have any skill expression at all.
I think it'd be better if the dream world was just automatically implied instead of had anything to do with his actual abilities. Just more like a "Freddy is the killer, so you're automatically in the dream world". Not "Oh but you have to go all the way across the map, or fail a skill check(if he isn't running a certain addon) to wake up and etc etc etc". Just because he can only kill people in the dream world in lore, doesn't mean you can't just automatically assume all players are in the dream world in a trial. That would solve both the issue of old Freddy and new Freddy, and then he could get more interesting addons.
Oh, so you don't even account for all the really bad players that muddy the statistics. No point in carrying on the conversation then.
Have a nice day.

redundant. better to combine Spine Chill with 3 other perks that help with other things.
Not redundant at all.
Spine Chill helps you with chases.
Kindred helps you coordinate with your team.
Every solo survivor should run those two perks. Both of them together are extremely helpful.

Did I complain about throwing the pallet early at all in my post? I will respectfully disagree on the second comment though.
I assumed you were playing devil's advocate. Point is, I don't get all the Freddy hate. Sure, his power isn't the most interactive.
But people should absolutely not be calling for any nerfs (I'm not pointing the finger at you). Most of the maps are survivor-sided, which is why I think killers like Freddy are needed.
-
I play both sides at rank 1.
Killers are justified when they complain because optimal survivors are stronger than most killer setups.
Survivors are justified when they complain about garbage teammates.

You can loop Freddy, you just gotta treat him like Clown. He's literally just boring. Most killers even complain about M1 killers(or used to), and Freddy is exactly that, so I'm not sure why survivors are the only people who would be saying Freddy is boring. I used to play him a lot, and I have a combo that can make me get a 3k for doing mostly nothing. Doesn't make him any more fun because that combo, like everything Freddy uses, is just passive bonuses.
So what if you have to throw down the pallet early?
Many pallets on the map are safe you know.

That's just a given.
People here tend to dismiss other people's opinions because what they think is fine for the game is different to what everyone else thinks is fine.
There's sometimes no reasoning with those people, so it's best to just ignore them.
You got that right.
Even when I give people evidence showing the game is survivor-sided, those people will still call you an entitled killer main lol.
Like you said, it's best to ignore them.
-
Because people let their bad side get the better of them.
-
Survivors don't like it when they can't loop the killer.
-
Since the bug hurts killers, nothing will be done.
-
The devs balance around unskilled players. Always been that way.
-
Depends on how sweaty the survivors are. Playing against potatoes isn't particularly stressful.
Not to mention, when you play killer in red ranks there's an expectation that you should play well. Makes it very stressful when you just want to grind some blood points.

that because deathslinger does a basic attack so it would appy SB if the chain breaks without him doing a basic attack then no SB
I'm not trying to argue the logic here about what is considered a basic attack or not. I'm just saying I think Legion's feral frenzy should receive the benefit of Sloppy Butcher.

How are you supposed to stay spread out if you don't know where anyone on your team is? And don't say run bond, because telling people to run 1 specific perk to counter a specific situation isn't a good argument. There's too many of those niche situations for that to convince me. "Just run BT for camping" "Just run DS for tunneling" "Just run sprintburst for deadzones" "Just run iron will for spirit" "Just run bond for legion" "Just run spine chill for stealth killers" etc etc.
I see plenty of red rank legions that combo the completely free feral frenzy hit with another loop-stopper like bamboozle or spirit fury + enduring. So now your free first hit comes with an easy second hit. That's where legion is annoying and strong, but I feel like too many people are focused on adding an extra 3 seconds to generators with thanatophobia to have figured that out yet.
Depends on the map. If the map is open, then I keep my eyes peeled for Legion. If I see the Legion going after someone else then I start moving away from my teammate being chased.
If the map is indoors, then that's a bit more complicated. I usually run Spine Chill, so I know if the killer is looking at me or someone else. Intuition is important here.
Point is, Legion can't down anyone with their power. So it seems fair to me that Legion be a killer who can keep survivors injured. Legion still has to chase everyone and walk across the map.

@Peanits said:
It's because Feral Frenzy is a special attack, not a basic attack. If it were a basic attack, it would have to work with other things (like Exposed, which would be pretty nuts).
Those perks work on Deathslinger though.
I just think changing Sloppy Butcher to work with FF would be a nice buff for Legion.

And you wanna know why ds is a hard locked perk for 90% of survivors?
Cause killers like to tunnel you to dead and do scummy things.
If you're doing a gen in front of my face then you aren't being tunneled, are you?

I'm not sure they distinguish between the different on-hit effects. If legion could apply sloppy on-hit with frenzy why can't demo with his shred, pig with lunge, etc etc?
Plus I still think it would be pretty dumb to be applying like 60+ seconds worth of damage every feral frenzy if the survivors were too close together. There are plenty of maps that are small enough that splitting up isn't a realistic option for solo Q teams. On maps like the game people can be in the next room to you and you would have no idea.
But here's the thing. Legion can't down anyone with his/her power. So it seems fair to me that Legion be able to keep survivors injured more effectively.
Even on smaller maps, you can stay spread out to minimize the feral frenzy damage.

@CashelP14 said:
They want all perks to be consistent. Before it was hard to tell if perks like STBFL or Sloppy Butcher would work on every killers ability.
I know they want things to be consistent. Just seems like a foolish design choice if you ask me.
-
@Shocktober said:
Pretty sure they did this because when it applied on hit, legion could get to 8 stack STBFL stacks within like a minute of the game starting, as well as injuring 3-4 people with sloppy while doing it. At that point he never had to use his power again because 8 stack STBFL was much better than using his power.
We're talking about Sloppy Butcher here, not STBFL.

It only works with basic attacks. Feral Frenzy does not count as a basic attack
Does it not work with Deathslinger?
-
You want to know why DS is a busted perk?
Because survivors use the protection to do stuff right in front of your face.
-
@Rattman said:
Its true, FF don't apply sloppy butcher. Just like Hatchets, Ambush, Shred and other stuff, which is not M1.
Are you 100% certain? A video clip would be nice.
-
A full team of good solo survivors can be nearly as strong as SWF. Just nerf survivors across the board.
Only really good survivors should be in red ranks anyway.
-
I like doing both honestly.

Why should the playing field be levelled? If you make maps too small, stealth/mobility killers essentially become useless because there is no point to being stealthy/ having mobility on a small map.
a killer designed to be slower should not be having the same ease as a mobility killer in getting across the map. Lol
Any killer with normal movement speed is hurt by big maps. They take too long to travel across, which wastes a lot of the killer's precious time.
There's no question that maps have to be smaller. All killers should be able to get across the map reasonably quickly. Many of the maps we have now cannot be traveled reasonably quickly.
-
My favorite killer to play against is Julie.

That is just not true at all.
Killers with high mobility now have a much easier time because map size went down.
It's more preferable imo to help the killers that are hurt by big maps.

how can you “abuse” swf...
its not like pressing the swf button magically makes the group a top 10 sweat squad
Voice communication is pretty much abuse imo. Being able to communicate valuable information among all four players is a huge advantage.
-
This is just completely wrong. Plenty of survivors will use DS because the perk can be abused.
-
Very hard to have fun with survivors when they abuse SWF and map design.
-
All of the maps should be small. Helps level the playing field for all killers.
-
I like playing against Legion more (especially if the killer is Julie).
-
Depending on the windows that spawn, survivors can abuse the hell out of that map. Very unfair for killers.

So you are suggesting eliminating all pallets so survivors have nothing to interact with or no way to escape the killer? Wow. That will require so much skill from killers and make the game super fun (sarcasm), Maybe you should practice mind games and quit complaining
You can't mind game safe pallets against good survivors. It just doesn't work.
The devs have to reduce the number of safe pallets so killers can consistently end chases quicker. As it stands now, survivors can still run to safe pallet after safe pallet, which wastes too much of the killer's time.
-
Survivors want to remind killers that they still run the show.
-
The game is still survivor-sided. Plenty of safe pallets for survivors to delay the killer.
