you’d be surprised at how many red ranks make simple mistakes often and still use self care with urban evasion.
I've encountered red ranks that couldn't even loop or run away properly. They played like a rank 20 and were downed within 10 seconds.
I don't ever remember matchmaking being this bad.
-
Nurse is unplayable on console.
You're wasting your time.
-
Solo survivor wouldn't be bad at all if the ranking system actually sorted out all the lousy players.

Same could be said for killer mains lol, iv seen some very bad game balance ideas.
Survivor mains want to maintain the status quo (which is in their favor). Killer mains know the game is horribly balanced, and make recommendations that give more power to killers (which is justified).

As well as the severe imbalance between roles when not playing with a team, not being able to communicate to their team, a lack of emotes other than point and come here, the fact that a solo team gets crushed by an ebony but a swf stands a chance, the unreliability of teammates, that they need perks to get information other people get for free, that kindred is basically a necessity if you want a good fun game.
"Oh but I need [insert required perk] on killer so they know how it feels now!" Except it should never feel like that and that argument that I've seen many people use takes the side of "If I can't have fun, nobody can have fun" which is far inferior to "If they're having fun, how can I have fun with them".
Solo survivor is by far the weakest and most unfun role in dead by daylight. They have plenty to complain about.
You're wrong.
A full team of really good solo survivors can beat a good killer. The problem is the player pool is flooded with garbage players.
I do agree that the gap between solo players and SWF is a problem. But that's only because I want both sides to be equal.
Personally, I don't think SWF with comms should be in this game. Totally ruins the immersion.
If the devs had any initiative, they would put SWF in their place, balance the game, and then maybe you would have players in their appropriate ranks.
-
In all fairness, survivor mains have the worst game balance ideas.
Sometimes it can be hard to tell when they're serious or not.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Aha, yes, solo survivors who don't play with comms are unable to complain about killers because of a feature they don't want to- or can't- use. This logic is flawless.
Solo survivors don't have anything to complain about (except bad teammates).
-
The devs have yet to make a good ranking system.
-
Keys are also unfun.
Get rid of them as well.
-
This is what happens when the devs favor one side over the other.
-
Map design for this game is not complicated.
Maps should be relatively small and safe loops should be kept to a minimum.
The problem is survivors have way to much to work with (in most cases).
Even blood lust can't fix trash map design.
-
They both can be really terrible experiences. It's hard to say which one is worse.
-
I don't lash out at people.
Sometimes I'll argue, but never lash out at another player.
-
Anyone who didn't vote for Julie should have their eyes and brain examined.
-
To be honest, I've barely played DbD these past two months.
Matchmaking wasn't always as bad as what you see now.

HEY HEEEEEEEEY!
The changes seem good on paper, we'll have to see and ask all the low mobility killers how they feel during testing. Cause, I'm not gonna lie it might send my pig over the top. I hope not and that I'm just overselling how good I am and itll just make me as good as the other killers but, here's hoping.
At the very least, this is a big step in the right direction. We'll need to see how the devs execute their new plans, but for the first time in a long while I'm optimistic.

More like decisions you like, but anyways, yes, this mid chapter seems pretty good, lets see how this plays out in the PTB.
Not just me. These are desperately needed changes. Many of the veteran players know how bad map design is.
-
The devs have finally started making good decisions.
Credit where credit is due.

So it's better to have maps where there are just massive deadzones and all the survivors have is some bushes to hide in? That's bad map design. Maps where you are almost forced to play immersed instead of getting to the good part of the game (chases) is pretty boring.
Survivors don't need god loops and a plethora of ultra safe pallets to win.
-
Honestly, the game is unfun for both sides.

Half the killers in the game counter them. At red ranks most people are running killers that hard counter looping. Any M1 killer can also run bamboozle. Four years of playing and you still don't realize that?
These windows should not exist in the first place. It's bad map design.
-
@Peanits said:
You mentioned it yourself, it only hurt the people who already had a hard time and couldn't hit skill checks, which is the opposite of what you'd want a perk to do. The good survivors would power through it or find the totem in no time, leaving them mostly unaffected.
If it's only working against survivors that can't hit skill checks, I would argue you don't need a perk to help you win against them. You would already have the upper hand if you're a good killer at that point.
What you just said isn't true.
No matter how good a player might be, no one can consistently hit great skill checks all the time. Most survivors don't want to deal with the hassle, so they inevitably go look for the totem (which of course buys the killer some time to build up early game momentum).
Lastly, a good killer does not have the upper hand against good survivors. The game is heavily stacked against the lower tier killers.
You have to master one of the top tier killers in order for your own skill to truly matter. Not many people are willing to spend hundreds of hours to learn Billy or Huntress.
-
Because the devs are biased against killers.
The game is four years old and yet these god loops still exist.
-
Big booty Julie is allowed to camp me anytime.

I wish I had my old Nurse to combat the gen times, I never used ruin on her and I could cause mayhem even without addons, truly was the most enjoyable experience in the game just relying on skill, memory, and timing.
Yeah, I miss them too. The devs over-nerfed her because she was the only killer who could put the smack down on survivors.
-
The fact Ruin was nerfed in the first place should tell you everything you need to know about these devs.
-
There are quite a few DbD content creators. However, I would avoid many of them.
Some of the good ones include:
Fungoose
Tru3ta1ent
Marth
ZubatLEL
Scott Jund
CrunchyEggRollz
These guys are decent people as well as good players.
-
Julie because she's hot.
And Jeff because he's my boy.

They've been heavily improving the game for killers since 2018.
They were on a decent track for a little while there (mostly because they hadn't screwed anything up big time), then they took a complete 180 and nerfed Ruin.
At that point, there was no doubt left. The devs revealed themselves to be out of touch and biased.
-
I agree. Billy is a lot more fun.

They literally aren't biased whatsoever but alrighty. People love to forget the good things they do and only remember the bad things they do.
Their track record says otherwise.

I have not seen much difference since the Ruin-Nerf. In fact, for me it is a little bit more annoying, since I had no problems with Great Skill Checks, but have now problems with leaving a Gen. But overall, the consequences of the Ruin-Nerf are smaller than many people expected.
And hey, Survivors are now losing their Add Ons when escaping. And this was purely to give something to the Killers, there was no logical thought put into it. So far about "biased".
@Topic:
I like the game, but at the moment, I mostly play in the evening with a friend. And this is more socializing than actually playing. In fact, there are two things bothering me with the latest Chapter:
The Add On Change, because now escaping is even less worth for me. I dont care if I escape or not, but now its just not rewarding, in my opinion.
And Breakable Walls. When I read about it, I was really interested in the implementation, I thought it could give a strategic aspect to the game. But nope, the implementation is poor, I just hate the Saloon Map when playing Killer and Survivor. As Survivor, the Killer can make mindgameable Structures worthless to use and as Killer I have to break certain walls to have a chance.
And I feel when the Breakable Walls are implemented into other Maps, I might play less, because it is just a bandaid, but really, really poorly designed.
What gets me most excited are the Archives (really looking forward to Tome 3) and new Killers, but I hope they will slow down on new releases and start working on the game and dedicate ressources to it so that they only release new Content every 6 months and use the free timeframes for Balance and technical Stuff (mainly Dedicated Servers).
The Ruin change doesn't seem impactful when you play against inexperienced survivors. And now there are a lot of them in all ranks.
But once you play against survivors who mean business, then you'll start to see DbD for what it really is.
The survivor changes you mentioned are trivial.
If the devs wanted to do killers a big favor they would look into SWF and board up some of these god windows. But of course, they'll never do that. Because that would actually address some of the core issues with the game.
Survivors have always been number 1 and probably always will be.

Somedays when I'm supposed to be recording matches for videos I sit in the lobby thinking about hitting the ready button while I play Pokemon Go. This goes on for far too long and I shut the game down to play something else.
It's probably not going to change and players themselves are going to create limitations or mini-games to delay the inevitable.
I also believe that the devs are incapable and/or unwilling to invest time and energy into improving the overall experience with more than new layers of paint.
The devs made a big mistake when they nerfed Ruin. Because for the first time a lot players saw what many of us have been saying for a while now. The devs are biased.
And instead of listening to our feedback, the devs decided to march full steam ahead.
I think many veteran players are getting fed up with the game. I hardly see any of them anymore.
You can't blame them either. We've tried to give the devs good advice on how to improve the game for the better. But of course like usual our ideas get swept under the rug in favor of the status quo (which is perk updates every few months).
-
It won't be long now...
-
The devs will always cater to SWF.
-
This game is only playable on PC imo.
-
It's because the devs are biased
-
Wow, more band aid fixes. So excited!

It was a forum joke. The fact these two posts were right next to each other was amusing.
Relax.
True.
-
There is no balance. The game is survivor-sided.
-
I don't tunnel or camp survivors based on how they look.
I will however give survivors special treatment based on how they look (ie giving them the hatch).
But that's about it.
-
The challenge this game is facing is the devs' refusal to properly balance the game.
-
I'd tell them to find a new game. Because DbD is not in a good state right now.
-
Alright, I suppose.
DbD has become a terrible game imo. Which gives me one less game to play.
-
The toxicity in this game is pretty bad.
The balance is even worse.
-
Find a new game with better matchmaking.
-
BHVR is incapable of solving this issue.
SWF will probably always be the most powerful force in this game.
-
This entire game feels like punishment.
-
Yes, for one simple reason.
If the survivors stay spread out and do gens the killer is toast (in most cases).
