Kinda sad. Not sure why they had to change the names to beggn with.

Isn't it just undoing the last buff his speed boost got? He was still fine before that last buff, so I wouldn't think this would destroy him (he still doesn't need the nerf at all and they need to cancel the nerfs). Unless they're nerfing him even more than I'm thinking they are?
Also if you read the reasonings behind each change, you'll notice how the devs switch from "this wasn't performing where we wanted it to" to "Wraith was a wee bit OP" and that he had "obviously overpowered elements". It makes it sound like a dev lost to a Wraith, got angry, and went back to work with the intention of nerfing him just because they were mad.
As a matter of fact, he got the uncloak boost BEFORE the movement speed one.

the first page is filled with people thinking this post is yet another rant about noed unfair. And if you think thats agressive im sorry but its really not as much.

The fact that you couldn't reproduce a bug doesn't mean there isn't a bug.
what you mean is not a bug. specially when you are close to him, a killers attack is almost automatic. if a nurse lands right next to you, she will attack, but since you are close to her she, of course, wont do a full lunge, which cancels the animation. and since she also goes into fatigue, welp, it looks rather weird but no bugs here.
to reproduce this, go kyf, stand next to the killer and have them m1 you. the hit is almost instant. same deal here.

A lot of people would and were, I would put her just above legion who is the 2nd worst (ghostface is the worst) because most survivors who have played vs her more than a few times know not to cleanse and that makes her a straight up m1 killer with 0 powers. Legion at least has a speed boost if the survivors decide not to heal.
How is ghostface the worst?

I gotta disagree on the DS position. I think DS is pretty balanced now, and honestly the amount of times I see a killer get hit with DS and still tunnel the survivor down is immense.
Also, I rarely see a killer respect DS, if they intend on tunneling, that is what they will do. I also think it is a good strategy to eat the DS early as opposed to later when it will indeed cost you a kill, say at EGC.
thats because for some reason people stopped running DS. seriously, even the stats of it showed how the people who used it still escaped the same amount of times.

For my side, Killer:
Survivor in-game toxicity (e.g t-bagging, flashlight clicking). It's perfectly natural for the opposition in PvP games to taunt the other player, DbD is no different. If anything, a game like DbD amplifies it because you're in a group of four Survivors against a big scary monster, taunting the big baddy is a tempting thing to do when you're able to do it. At first it can feel insulting because you feel that you are supposed to be the power role, but the game doesn't work exactly like that. Four Survivors coming together and working through the objective and helping teammates flawlessly is on par with the power of a Killer, arguably stronger than a Killer.
I think trying to ban t-bagging or flashlight clicking or punishing people for it is silly. Yes, in-game toxicity can be annoying, but if it gets to you then it's working. It gets to me sometimes, but I tend to not let it tilt me too far. People do it to draw attention and taunt, it's not a new concept or exclusive to DbD. Besides, it makes catching them all the more worthwhile.
End game chat toxicity is a different subject entirely and I think everyone can agree that it's wrong.
you see, normal pvp taunting is during an interaction or after you won something. this ######### is like if someone taunted you from the moment you entered the server to the moment you leave.

monstruous shrine
Dead hard.
a fair exchange.
-
yeah this happens to everyone. from the time to time you just assume everyone is gonna use unbreakable, will deadhard to a pallet, the unhooker has BT, that everyone who enters a locker has head on, and everyone who is slugged under a pallet is running powerstruggle flip flop.
basically every survivor is running everything and nothing at the same time

Let's review his other addons then.
Philly, Telephoto Lens, Knife Belt Clip, Night vision Monocular (Reduce Stalk time when stalking and not leaning): So the base not leaning stalk time is 5 seconds. Running the Night Vision Monocular and Knife Belt Clip you reduce it to 3.75 seconds. Lean Stalk is 2.5 seconds. Ghostface should be spending most of their time stalking survivors while leaning. The only time you would not lean stalk is to pop a 99% stalk'd survivor or the game decides you can't actually lean. Not terrible addons, but largely useless when lean stalk to 99% is how you play Ghostface effectively.
Headlines Cut-outs, Olsen's Journal, Olsen's Wallet (Increased Movement Speed while Stalking): So as I said previously the effective way to play Ghostface is to lean stalk to 99%. While leaning you can't move so extra movement speed while leaning is worthless. At least the reduce stalk time while not leaning can help if a survivor isn't quite 99%.
Cheap Cologne, Telephoto Lens, Last Perfume (Increased Marked Duration): You can get +15 extra marked duration hitting 60 second marked duration on survivors. It's okay, but since you can 99% stalk survivors and pop them when you are close enough to hit you don't need extra marked duration. It can help if you accidentally fully stalked due to latency, but if you are already commiting to a marked survivor for over 45 seconds you are kind of throwing. It can help if you fully stalk two survivors at once since you can down 1 and chase the other, but it would be better to try to 99% both and pop 1 leaving the other to be popped later. No real reason to run this since unlike Myers you are picking a single survivor at a time to expose instead of an entire time.
Reusable Cinch Straps, Leather Knife Sheath, Drop-Leg Knife Steath (Movement speed when crouched): One of his only addons that gives him benefit when not in night shroud. Crouching is useful at some tiles since you can break LoS and get a hit you otherwise couldn't get. These addons do help for those situations. Drop-Leg is an 8.4% increase and Leather Sheath is 5.6% so together you get a 14% boost and his base crouch movement is 90% so you can move faster than survivors while crouched. The situations these addons are useful in are niche but at least can be worth running.
Marked Map, Victim's Detailed Routine (Increase Killer Instinct duration when revealed): Useless. You have enough time to figure out where the survivor that revealed you is at base. Granted sometimes Killer Instinct be buggy and you don't actually see the notification because the survivor is too close to you.
Victim's Detailed Routine, Driver's License (Reduce Range survivors can reavel Ghostface): Together you can turn the 32m range that survivors can reveal Ghostface into 20m range. Not an insignificant reduction, but you should be trying to reduce the ability for survivors to even reveal you by not standing out in the open in first place. Ultimately good ghostfaces don't need these addons, because they are putting themselves into situations where they can be revealed.
Ghostface Caught on Tape (Faster Lean Stalk, Slower Non Lean Stalk): Lean stalking goes from 2.5 to 1.5 seconds, Non Lean Stalking goes from 5 to 5.75. It's better than the faster non lean stalking addons since you want to lean stalk survivors to 99% and almost halfing the time it takes to lean stalk is certainly good. I don't think I've ever been in a situation where I thought "man I wish I lean stalked a bit faster". I would say it's okay, certainly better than his other addons.
Outdoor Security Camera (Aura reveal when you down a marked survivor): Probably his next best addon after power recovery. Ghostface can struggle to make good use of Infectious Fright since if he downs a survivor while undetectable no one will scream. This addon allows him to get a sense of where survivors are after downing a marked survivor. Now it is all survivors outside of his TR so if you down a marked survivor while not undetectable you won't see the auras of nearby survivors. But since survivors aren't going to jump in lockers to avoid Security Cam aura reading if you see 2 auras and not 3 then you can assume the last survivor is nearby.
So basically half of his addons are absolutely useless from the start. This leaves us his two iri addons, movement speed when crouched, and faster non leaning stalk as other addon options you would want to run. Of the remaining options only crouched movement and his iri addons are viable options to replace recovery time since they actually do something useful to how you play Ghostface.
At best you might see some Ghostface use an iri addon with chewed pen or Ghostface with double crouch addons, but most Ghostfaces are still going to use double recovery, because it's simply far better than the alternatives.
The best response ive gotten that is not "muh security muh pen is." Congrats, and thats a good analisis.

Also almost everyone here is acting as if that one second of extra cd is an actual nerf.

I was think8ng about buyinh him since im close to reaching 9000 shards again, so i was between spirit clown twins plague trickster and slinger.

Now to the slinger nerfs? That checks out another one, im done with these "killer dependant add ons" kind of killer.

I'm guessing you're a new player, or you missed the word "old" in front of Prayer Beads. Back in the day, Prayer Beads just removed all of Spirit's phasing noise, no matter if in TR or not. So you would be sitting on a gen or doing a totem, and you'd just suddenly be grabbed off of it when Spirit appeared on top of you with literally 0 sound. It was incredibly stupid, just like current CC.
It depends on the style. I prefer windstorm lunging, in which you are correct, it doesn't matter. But the other super popular style is hit and run wraith, in which case it ensures survivors have no time to react by removing the audio cue, so if they're out of LOS its a free hit. Run sloppy and do that 5x times, and its gg.
And yes, I've been playing Wraith since before the original Windstorm buff. And shockingly, even before this most recent buff, CC was still incredibly strong. Full stealth isn't a "meme" addon, its other killers entire power. And having full silent bell with 126% movement speed while cloaked, the ability to combo it with allseeing, and a lunge greater than T3 Myers that the survivor has next to no time to react to isn't a meme, it's incredibly strong.
Yes, ive been playing for only a year.
Hit and run atill doesnt get benefited by CC at all, becquse you can still just uncloak on survivors backs and whack em. This only doesnt work with survivors with a functional brain but at that point CC aint gonna save you.
I still disagree with you on that coxcombed clapper change, before the speed buff and considering his current nerf to his speed after uncloak, moving at 126 even with silent bell would make it into a meme add on , because back thene even tho his coxcombed was ther with all seeing as well, people ranked him as almost worse than trapper.
Ill just agree to disagree at this point, thank you for explaining why tho.

There is not a single argument that can be made for current CC that can't also be made for old Prayer Beads on Spirit. They're the exact same effect, just with the charge time on the other end. Keep the effect, but lower the movement speed down to pre-buff cloaked speed when using it so that you trade pure stealth for map pressure.
Prayer beads makes the phasing sound global for anyone outside of their terror radius, as a matter of fact that is not something cc can do, that is something Bone Clapper literally does.
and 2 things, again, Wraiths most effective playstyle does not get complimented by coxcombed clapper, because he literally can just uncloak on your ass and get you before you get to a pallet if you react slow enough. Coxcombed aims at you going for strange angles to try and surprise survivors.
And second of all what you suggested would make coxcombed clapper yet another meme iri add on, are you not aware of how horrible old Wraith's movement speed is?
-
it only screws me over when i have bad ping, is enfuriating, but not that bad.
now when aim assist robs me a hit and then i get validated at a pallet hit 5 seconds later its when i get tired of it.

No notification means survivors have no time to react. With combination of grey add-on ou have no terror for some time after uncloaking. you're basically super fast ghost face with 0 power cooldown
also im pretty sure Ghostface´s power relies more on the 99% stalks he has rather than his ability to run up at you

that would make sense if Wraith´s most effective tactic wasnt just uncloaking on your back. i think Wraith actually going for strange angles to try and get grabs or jumpscares might actually be more healthy for the game and fun for survivors than him just uncloaking behind you 0 ######### given and smack you.
-

This nerf should not go through, maybe the All seeing add on, but Wraith's basekit should he buffed instead, to give him an anti loop ability, and I think that giving him a BUFF to his speed out of cloak, where it lasts 1,50/1,60/1,75 seconds would be great
that would be way too much. specially 1,75
-
@Luciferr_2nd said:
Yeah im fine with this
Its really boring and annoying when a wraith hits you, then immediately cloaks and just tries to down you with the lunge.
Every wraith does it and its such repetitive boring gameplay
This little nerf should hopefully make people play him the way youre supposed to play him, it clearly wasnt intentional that wraith should chase people while cloaked
it clearly was intentional, its really not that hard to understand why wraith would use his lunge mid chase. And wdym "the way they you are supossed to play him" i ve been doing that since the days of having no add on slots as wraith.
I still dont mind it as much, i thought they would gut him to a hillbilly level of destruction. his iri clapper (love calling it that) is still in the game, shadow dance hasnt been nerfed, iri all seeing is still there. his speed is still there. everything i loved about playing as him is still there.
-
yeah, silent gen pop has happened to me too. i still notice the gen because looking at the little red arrow that appears is a reflex at this point, but it gets annoying

I think the RE chapter was done super poorly. Nemesis doesn't even feel like Nemesis without some sort of running ability or weaponry, the zombies are super bland and annoying for both sides and his actual power is so lackluster that even Trickster is arguably better than him.
SH chapter was much better indeed. Pyramid Head is actually a scary chaser and the cages, although technically not in the games, fit super well his power.
I don't think the problem was the lack of horror because Stranger Things isn't even a horror franchise and I think everybody agrees the chapter was a success.
its more of a sci fi with horror aspects. first season specially.

Yea, they shouldn’t show them. I still judge players by their grade. We are almost in the next Season, and if you play like crap AND are Ash, Gold, & Silver- it tells me you are not even good enough to pip to IRI. And I don’t want to hear anything about “well maybe they didn’t play enough as you.” No, that’s not it. The way they were playing is so bad, they will never make it to IRI. And according to some of our members on here, “it’s so easy to Pip,’ so that makes it much worse.
I’m tired of having potatoes as teammates, with Ash, Silver, and Gold- while me and the killer are both IRI I. I can’t carry them. The killer is actually competent and efficient while my teammates are not. Most games I’m at the top with the most BP post game. My favorite is when I’m the first to die because Ashe III Meg was too scared to get me off first hook, so I die and end up having more points dead then everyone alive. 😑
‘Just remove the grades like the last SBMM test. This system sucks as is and just seeing teammates low grades game after game is infuriating. Don’t even get me started on why I’m getting teamed up with them when I don’t play anything like them.
you do realize grades are still not related to skill right? and if you are contantly getting paired with them after 10 games, which means your sbmm atleast is working properly , then if you are getting paired with them the problem might be on a diferent side my dude.
-
it tells you how much they play. You can also tell why ranks and sbmm really difer, because there we have the dude in iri 1 getting swatted out of the game, and then have the ash players actually do something.

remove dash and i frames, replace with endurance, but make it a really low time endurance, from 1 second at max. that way if you time it you get a sprint burst without having to actually time it.
