then we probably need to show them our dissapointment, I guess? I would probably not even launch dbd after the update goes live. if I get a lot people out there, thinking same, I will make other post convincing these people to do the same
Perhaps some people will stop playing dbd within a few days after the release of 4.5.0. New HUD tires the eyes. Not everyone wants to get used to it :)

Imagine that survivors are bots. Don't think about 4k, use other goals. Is a survivor t-bagging? Nod them. If you don't want to close chat, but you get toxic chat, use sarcasm or words "gg, have a nice day".

Well I hope you guys are wrong. It would be such an embarassment to have insane amounts of negative feedback beforehand, push out the despised changes regardless, then retract them because of negative feedback. It sounds so dumb.

Play for solo survivor if no obsession. And you will understand why.

The devs are not required to comment on the forums as it is not part of their job. From my understanding, Almo and other devs post on their own time(I'm not referring to community managers).
Sorry, you're right. Yes, it's more about Community Managers.

Funnily enough all the nonsense of the past 3.5 years didn’t lead me to quit the game, but I really doubt I’ll continue to play this game if that new HUD makes it into the game. So many (as mentioned above) bugs and issues with this game that we have to deal with, I simply can’t take a HUD that makes the game worse. (Call it the straw that broke the camels back).
the game is just turning into a dumpster fire and the people who make a lot of these decisions apparently don’t even play the game. (Never convince me that the people who made this horrible HUD have played this game for more than 5 minutes and thought it was a good idea)
The same. I've noticed that Community Managers and Devs post comments on the forum less often than a few months ago. Many players rightly criticize the new HUD. But none of the developers even tried to defend the new HUD in the feedback forums. They could explain to us why it is better than the old one. But we get silence.

Why are you nerfing one while not nerfing the other? Nobody disagrees that they both need to be changed. They are both awful for the game. But you can't nerf the only reliable counter to keys, and then leave keys the same. It is going to be miserable for a while now until keys are fixed.
Mori is not a counter of keys.
Last month I played as a solo survivor against the Clown with ebony mori. Claudette had brought key. The killer mori'd her. But I took the key from Claudette's corpse and escaped through the hatch. 3 generators were ready and 2 survivors were dead. I could have escaped with the second Claudette, but she did not understand when I called her for me.

So, if you ask me, I'm agree with Otzdarva's suggestion:

Green mori - You can kill one survivor after you hooked everyone once.
Red mori - You can kill all survivors after you hooked everyone once.
I agree

What is wrong with trying to kobe? Many people do it just for fun because it is you know... funny to yeet yourself off the hook right as someone gets there. In fact, I have witnessed it and performed this many times and so far everyone was chill and goofy about it. "lmao that kobe was perfectly timed noice"
The fact that some people are so spiteful of this that they are willing to let the person on hook go into second stage or die is just plain stupid. You are harming the team more than they were and for what? To let them know that fun is illegal in DBD?
You got the same answers as in the thread you mean. When the rescuer is next to you and the killer is gone, all right, kobe is fine. BUT! Please, respect people who run across the map to unhook you and the time they took for you. Please. Think about the consequences.
-
Kobe is not a tragedy. But I think that if a survivor ran across the map to save teammate, the kobe is rude behavior (as t-bagging, spam flashlights etc.). And the rescuer has the moral right to leave kobe-person on second hook for dead when the gates are open. However, if the person who wants to save you is close and killer is gone, then Kobe is fine.
It doesn't bother me, but I have fun in two cases:
1. Kobe-person unhooks himself next to the camper, although I am nearby and could have rescued him with BT. The killer downs him. This survivor has no DC. I save him, but poor guy get tunnelled.
2. I run across the map to the survivor on the hook. When I almost run to him, he tries to unhook (he tries only one attempt!) and gets into the second stage. I laugh at this stupid person who did himself badly.

Me and you are polar opposites lmao. I slug with infectious on nurse, and usually 1 hook everyone to death and depip when I win:)
I'm very glad that I rarely meet killers with such gameplay. If there are many of them, the game would become unbearable.
-
No. I'll continue to bring DS. This is the only perk I hope to NEVER use in a match. But sometimes I have teammates who unhook me without BT near the killer. Then DS can save me.

I've read most of what you wrote in this discussion. Interestingly, 36 of your 70 posts are just in this discussion. Not sure what keeps you coming back, as you don't give any constructive ideas or propose any solutions at all, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
Anyway, lets start:
- Announcing ones intentions does in no way threaten anyone
- Asking for a refund is not bullying. Interestingly, you're trying to tell people what to do, which is: to stop asking for a refund. And you keep coming back to this discussion and repeat it, again and again and again. To me, it looks like somebody else is a bully. Elephant in the room.
- Raising your voice to show what's bad about a situation is not whining, it's called feedback.
- The login bonus is not a "refund". It's a general measure, or you could also say a bandaid, to calm the community and to keep the game activity up. A refund is something individual, because it considers the individual transaction(s) made by that specific customer (which is not the case for a non-individual measure like the login bonus).
- Iridescent Shards are earned by playing the game (except for this "event"s login bonus), and the amount of Iri-Shards you receive is measured by the time spent in-game. There's a condition bound to them. You don't receive them, if you don't play the game. So, unless you invest time, you won't have them. And only if you invest a lot of time, you will have a lot of them. Again, they are not free. They are literally your time invested into playing the game.
- Looking at other games and how their studios resolved the same situation makes a A LOT OF SENSE. The only thing that doesn't make sense is that this situation even exists and hasn't been resolved in a professional way that focuses on CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. Does anyone really think this is going to do anything good to customers BRAND LOYALTY? All this situation does is to make people wary, so the next time an event happens or new skins are released they will behave differently (and this will affect their cashflow).
- Nobody can predict that NEW cosmetics will be on sale 2 days after they were released. Something like this just should never happen, and if due to whatever reason it still does, people that bought right before the discount should be refunded. Again, think CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.
Kurasuma was banned (I am surprised it) and we cannot answer them :/
Anyway. You're right. I very like this game and don't want to go out. But I got a bad experience and I will expect a trick from any new product.

@Mandy said:
Whilst I appreciate the sentiment on this thread, I'm sorry but the information I have is that there are no refunds as per our EULA, any item purchased can go on sale at any time.
Thank you for your response and empathy (I understand that you really sympathize).
I hope that BHVR as a corporation understands the implications of this decision.
Someone will leave the game forever.
Someone will not take this as a loss or say "Unlucky" to themselves and continue to play and buy.
Previously, someone bought DLC (including original ones) in Steam and other platforms and skins for auric cells (including those that they could buy for shards) for money (including on the day of release). Now they will only buy original characters and skins for shards, and will be waiting for licensed chapters on sale.
Someone will continue to play, but will stop buying anything.
Nevertheless, I still hope for the best and BHVR will come up with something.

That's like sayin: Yo on Black Friday I got this pants for 5$. But when it was released I payed about 40$. I wanna get refunded.
This doesnt make any sense dude. Idk how much you spent but I bought between 250 and 300 skins. I own all DLCs and I also bought the battle pass. Do I complain about a idk 50% off for all DLCs or sth? No, because it doesnt make any sense at all.
1. You know about Black Friday and can calculate your purchases
2. You can expect new skins to sell out 2-3 months after their release but not 2 days. It's obviously.
-
@Buttercake said:
I mean, nobody NEEDS skin the first day it comes out. They do have sales occasionally. Maybe we should just wait and buy during those times, from now on?
Then no one can be burned by this again.

I used to buy on the first day. Now I will wait :D

Yes, no one expected this. I totally understand when I was buying DLC and outfits on the day of release that they may be on sale after 2-3-4 months. But not in two days :D

Except the discount was only done from the complaints. So everyone complained and they gave the discount to appease. Then everyone started complaining so they are giving free shards. But people are still complaining. So the fact is, everybody is bullying BHVR to get what they want and that's not ok. The EULA, although kinda scummy, is still there to protect the company from being taken advantage of. Granted it can screw over people who aren't but it's still a binding contract. Now just think. They are giving us free shards. That already goes against the EULA. They broke their own rules yet people are bitching for more. It's not ok.
Dude, they announced the sale Hallowed Curse 2 minutes after the news about shards :D

"The developers are reading this thread but don't have anything to say at the moment." is the best (and only really) response you can hope for.
There is the "BHVR Read" reaction. It's usable only by developers, and can be used to show a thread has been read, without having to respond to it. This thread seems like a good target, if it is actually being read. This reaction has currently not been used on this thread.
It hasn't been used in a long time though, and my question about whether that is due it being bugged currently was ignored:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/175128/why-is-the-bhvr-read-reaction-not-used-anymore
The only thing I noticed is the integration of other topics on the same problem with this thread.

@Canas said:
Meanwhile BHVR likes to pretend this thread doesn't exist.
How little respect does this company even have for its dedicated players? Simply terrible. At this point I just want them to respond, I won't repeat my earlier arguments anymore. Just keep this thread up until they finally give in.
I saw this message on Friday in one social network. Perhaps it was taken from the discord.
It's sad that they didn't immediately respond to this thread. But I hope they answer tomorrow, after the weekend. And change their mind.
-
I didn't complain when other people complained about this event. And it’s unpleasant for me that BHVR did this in relation to the players loyal to them. I'll get over it, as well as an unfriendly attitude. But now I will think many times before giving them money.

@Kurasuma said:

Never said it was morally right. Just that you have no place to complain since you agreed to the EULA. And also its still selfish of you to complain when they are still compensating you. Plain and simple. Get over it
Are you seriously? This is not compensation. Since October 24, everyone will receive the shards. Not just those who bought overpriced skins.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
The irony here is that it's probably the super dedicated players who already bought the outfits. And who gets the benefit of this sale? The people who shrugged and were like, "Eh, cool, but I don't need them." That's what I did. I saw them, thought they were too expensive, and also wanted to wait to see if BHVR backtracked on this really poorly thought-out event. I've also been burned in other games (Battlefront II released an amazing Legendary skin, you know the expensive stuff, and then right after gave it away for free for completing a simple challenge. I was pissed. It was unprecedented, and there was no compensation to those of us who'd only just bought it. And you know what I got from the forums? The same kind of lack-of-sympathy that others are getting here.) and learned my lesson about buying stuff without waiting.
Again, the really messed up thing is that the people who buy the stuff right away are the ones really supporting the game, and to not give them a refund for the difference is like saying "Your support isn't valuable to us. You don't get the same benefit the other people who didn't care enough to purchase these right away are getting."
You're right. I have almost 5000 hours, but now I just don't want to touch the game. Yes, most likely I'll be back. But this feeling of deception ... I have never had such an experience. This is terrible.
-
I understand you. I considered myself a loyal customer until this day. Now... no.
-
May be, BHVR is legally right. But I find it unethical towards loyal customers. I'm upset cuz I bought one of these outfits for 21600 shards.

Certainly! There are a few tips, but in summary:
• Set reasonable expectations. For example, if you are trying a killer you're not used to, understand that you will probably not do well against other players to start. Instead, set reasonable goals, such as concentrate on improving your chases or practicing mind games. If you vs a much stronger team, see it as practice. Accept you won't win everytime.
• Regarding goals, set long-term ones. If you only focus on winning and win the next 20 games, but then lose the 21st, you'll probably be dwelling on that loss. Instead, set your goals to ones such as those mentioned in the last point. That way, there is less stress and it's manageable. Plus, your game will improve.
• Something I've always preached is to own your own mistakes. You can take control of your own errors, but you can never control mistakes you blame on others instead. Focus on what you can control, rather than passing control to others. Learn from them.
• Regarding other players, they have their own rules and ways of playing. Whatever happens, try to assume they have the best intentions. They may well still be learning the game, or perhaps had a previous bad experience. Perhaps it's an archive or daily they need. Try not to assume the worst.
• Your opponents are entitled to have good moments, as well as you. It feels good to pull off a great juke or attack, and likewise you may be on the receiving end of a great juke or attack. It happens.
• Understand other meanings behind actions. For example, if you are face-camped it's annoying, but try to see it as that killer is acknowledging he cannot beat you in a chase and this is their only way of securing a win. If a survivor is clicky, clicky, they may be wanting to get better at chases or protect another. Understand it's not personal.
• For killers, see the survivors waiting at the gate as opportunities for extra points. They may be waiting for teabags, but from your perspective it can be seen as extra hits, points and possible emblems. Make the most of every situation.
• There will be occassions you'll meet extremely obnoxious players. If they lose they'll insult you, and if they win they'll take these few seconds of temporary power to rub it in your face. Anyone with a shread of empathy will be gracious in defeat or humble in victory. Those who are obnoxious are not worth your time. Ignore then and move on. They can only upset you as much as you allow it. Ignoring it will give you back that power and take away theirs.
• Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Especially for beginners, there are so many perks, maps, killers, tactics to learn. Be kinder on yourself.
• There will be things beyond your control: Bad teams, terrible luck, bugs and glitches, over-powered opponents, swf, etc.. If you're feeling tilted, accept you cannot control this and focus on what you can. That way you'll feel more empowered improving your game play, rather than focusing on anything but.
I hope this improves your experience. It's a great video by Otzdarva, and possibly one of the most important DBD videos in recent times. As he says, you can even take these ideas over to other games or perhaps even beyond gaming. There are a lot of wise words here.
Thanks a lot! <3
