Not to mention so, so many of his cosmetics tell us he couldn't stand his dad and hated the 'rich heir' life...
Like, c'mon, devs. There's dozens of fanfic authors out there who have been able to tell wonderful stories with the characters that felt 100% InCharacter. how come the official team is so hit or miss (compare Wraith's lore to e.g. Hag's)
-
Bubba.
literally ALL other killers on the list can be fixed with small tweaks, or the introduction of dynamic map creation (and more dynamic point events). but bubba? lost cause. The only way to fix him would be to make him identical to Billy, which would defy the purpose of having both as separate characters.
-
On an M1 attack that's new. And hey, great, if it is cause of the new hit-priority... then now all attacks are broken :D
So far it was only ranged killers where animations would play but nothing would come of it. wow
-
Addition:
If you want to thank the killer, put down your item.
And for crying out loud, stop waiting in the gate to MOCK the killer if it's deathslinger. You don't get to whine about getting gobbled up by the entity last second because you WAITED at the gate to be a little twerp and got speared.

Because despite all the negative things, I like to keep an eye out for the positive stuff (like new killers, survivors etc)
honestly? i wouldn't call new characters one of the positives. The insistence on the same routine 'new characters with three perks each' is very much what's causing so much trouble and what makes it extremely hard to balance things well.
Dunno 'bout you people, but i'd rather have big cosmetic packs and maybe 'just perks' packs without new characters for a while till everything's more or less ironed out.

It's the nasolabial folds on pretty much ALL the women in the game (like #########) that has been shaded far too dark to not give the impression of puffy cheeks and/or high age.

Even without a refund, I think at least shards should be given out. Kate was changed far too much to a point she looks almost nothing like her old self. She looks like shes aged and become bitter since the divorce.
naw. it's seriously just a bit of coloring not done too well. She looks fine. You should use this energy advocating to separate headcosmetics from torso/leg cosmetics in linked sets.

I noticed they changed her. She was almost identical to how she was in RE3 in fact her DBD model had more detail. So weird they change it.
as said, this is likely more a contrast problem on the textures than anything. not enough for a refund, but should be looked into

Cheeks puffy, nose is upturned in a snobby manner, eyebrows are weirdly angled. She looks mad, old, and angry which I don't understand. Her preview looked pretty decent yet in game she looks horrible.
jill has the same issue. like, they went far too dark with the shadows for the nasolabial folds and the nasalis muscle/nostrils.
but it's nothing justifying a refund or saying they ruined something. this is simply a tweak the the facial testuremap
-
The cheeks might be a bit puffy, giving her a perpetually perturbed look, but otherwise she's fine

Can confirm for PC
-
Can confirm:
Spear dives to the ground (taking some chain charges with it, going by the effect displayed)
Maps:
Lery's, Family Estate.
Platform: PC, low setting
Build: Dark Devotion, tinkerer, bloodhound, whsipers, with Marshal Badge and Jawsmasher
-
Trickster has ever since been the result of the core mechanics not getting overhauled. Instead chapter after chapter is shoehorned out, bringing new killers limited and hindered by the very mechanics of the game.
-
why is this in 'lore'?

4 is an unlucky or "death" number in korea.
It's probably that
either that, or some animation stuff. how many were there before again?

And that's precisely what the developer update made this out to be. They said offline bot matches were coming with the mid chapter update. They bot match with Trapper and Dwight was already there with the chapter 20 release, so this doesn't make any sense.
I'd rather have specific training modes for just the killers (aiming practice for deathslinger and huntress) etc
-
Played the new tutorials now (didn't do before as I had already finished them).
They are nice, but I maintain the position that it does need something for perks (which would probably be a whole thing in and on itself) and different killers (especially training modes for killers)
-
@Peanits said:
With the chapter 20 release, bot matches were added after the tutorials so you can try out what you've learned in a more match-like setting.
With this mid-chapter, the tutorials themselves have been completely remade (e.g. the thing that teaches you what generators, hooks, etc. are).
I see. thanks.
I had hoped for more tutorials for other killers and how perks work :(

Not 30 minutes, but the trials are ridiculously long on RCPD. It shouldn't be in the game. Somebody d/cs. Always. I've seen survivors wander around for 5-10 minutes before a gen gets done, and then one or two quit, presumably out of frustration or boredom. And I've seen so many killers struggle to find their way around and ultimately quit. I've actually never seen a single trial be completed on that map. It shouldn't be in the game.
Yeah...
I just had another match on it... 23 min... and someone asking in chat 'isn't there supposed to be a library'?... meaning they traversed the map and did not come across the library...

You know, that’s the really odd part: none of them actually ran insidious. They just stood there.
that's... weird however. then again... a lot of survivors don't care (and don't run kindred)...
but IIRC the build back in the day was 'iron grasp; insidious; monstrous shrine; agitation' i think

The few times I've had games on rpd as survivor it was a minimum 25 minutes plus it's insane
good to know i'm not alone.
And like... really, once they actually fix the lag on the map (which usually just adds to the disorientation), they should increase the hooktimer.
-
Well, if you consider 'old school scum' a meme...
I'm not that long in dbd, but I know that back in the day insidious basement camper (with monstrous) was decently common (most due to lack of perks)
-
On the same note: Please let us decide which characters we want to get Dailies for

This game can be very unforgiving for new players. When I invite someone to try DBD, I have to teach them a lot. Killer powers, reveal perks, exposed situations, ect.
I honestly don't know how anyone can play this game casually without learning all the hidden mechanics.
i don't know how anyone can play the game casually or at all with how much it encourages and rewards toxicity.
-
I'm mainly wondering because
- there's a massive influx of gamestart slugging with ruin and corrupt
- how many people here say camping, tunneling etc are 'necessary' against good survivors
especially with point 2 I reckon that proper balancing is impossible, ruining the experience for both sides at bottom line.
-
It's gotten as bad as in high ranks right now.
The game, for everyone who just tries to play FAIR, has become utterly unenjoyable.
General gross behavior (name calling etc) is omnipresent, camping, slugging and tunneling are too, as are really uncreative second chance and tryhard builds from god knows whatever big name streamer pretended that they are 'a sign of skill'. you have a good chunk of people purposefully going back to low ranks to be scumbags because it makes them feel good about themself.
so, no, low ranks are effed as well.
the entire game is.
gratz on that devs
-
Yeah. really devs, expand the event to chapter 21, please?

@Wavy said:
Trickster is the new Deathslinger now. Yay :/
Naw, Slinger still takes some skill. Trickster is still typically quantity over quality
-
Small Game was good as it is. The change is quite... counterproductive:
- It is NOT the totem counter needed for solo-Q that some make it out to be, as it requires EVERYONE to run it. Just please give us a regular totem counter, even if it is just a 'lit up' totem icon that goes dull when all totems are cleansed
- as totems and traps had the same sound it was indeed just a heads up, and not overpowered. Heck, if anything it was advantageous to trapper and hag as a well place trap near a totem could do wonders.
-
autohaven.... yeah... sure.
-
Tunneling, Slugging and camping are only considered 'part of the game' because bhvr would lose a decent chunk of incompetent but paying players if they'd use the existing mechanics to force these amateurs to actually show skill.
-
Okay, gonna pit the fandoms against each other:
By all means, the most reasonable power for Candyman would be the same kind of powerset to give Lady D in an expanded RE chapter:
so, discuss which one you'd like to have more
the guy with the bees an hook or the vampire lady with the bugs and claw?
-
Mhn... i think when everyone's slugged and left to bleed out it would just be fair that items can be used and that survivors can pull themself up on the fusebox to open the gate.
Don't like that idea? then don't slug.

Top survivors also say dead hard is unbaitable.
If you want I can pull up some clips of it, it would take me like 5 mins searching to get 4 or 5 top survivors saying this.
Slugging and Tunneling are strategies, camping is only a strategy if survivors play into it otherwise it's counterintuitive as most top killers think and I'll go through point by point why all 3 of these can be strategies if you want.
Ruin corrupt is a great combo, it slows down the gens which are extremely quick btw. Killers need slowdown, and this is a good combo. Better yet ruin PGTW.
Most top killers think deathslinger is ######### btw. He has no map pressure so against good survivors he sucks. Also watch otz's 50 win streak. He shows you his perks. And doesn't use add-ons.
Nice straw-manning btw, you still haven't answered my scenario. How do you bait it out in the given scenario in my last post, I'll wait for your answer.
you really want an answer to that scenario?
break off the chase.
either i find someone else, or the person I chased will
- use their ds thinking I'm doing something else (successful bait, because many don't expect the killer to break a chase off) allowing me to turn and smack them
- in some cases actually come after me because they feel insulted that they didn't get to 'outwit' me with DS (there's threads about people complaining killers breaking off chases)
- just run around doing nothing worthwhile because they don't know what to do with themself now.
DH is not unbestable (wait, did you think I wrote 'unbaitable'? good gracious) people just need to stop thinking the way otz, tru3, scott etc play is the ONE TRUE AND ONLY WAY!
also, adorable use of buzzwords there. pointless, but nice showing you know some bigger words, even if you use them entirely wrong.
And lovely to see how SUDDENLY you do say some killers can counter/bait it. I thought that was ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE OTZ SAID SO!
@WexlerWendigo said:
Okay, so? Ruin, pop, tinkerer, NOED are also crutch perks. Are you complaining about them?
threads like this are a dime a dozen on this forum, and all boil down to people thinking there's just 1 (one) way of playing the game, and get upset when something takes away their iWin button.
I mean, there's people that call Kindred cheating and unfair because it kind of counters camping. Kind of.

Top killers say it's unbaitable when used for distance in a loop.
Are you telling me your more knowledgeable than someone like Otz (7k hours) in the game.
Please tell me your joking, or are just a troll.
If not, please reconsider some life choices.
However:
I'm not just gonna repeat words with no backing, ill give you a fairly simple scenario.
You, as the killer, are chasing an injured survivor to an LT wall. Your just about to catch them, however due to an earlier chase you know they have DH. Now your playing wraith ( a character with a simple bait mechanic (hitting the bell)). So you can either:
1) bait dead hard, they use it, reach the window and extend the chase
Or
2) don't bait dead hard, swing and they reach the window because they used it either way.
What counterplay is there?
I'd love for you to tell me.
top killers also think that slugging, camping and tunneling are legit tactics. Top killer are saying ruin/corrupt is a great combo. Top killers play deathslinger with M&A, stbfl and double reload addons. what's your argument here?
so, it's 'unbaitable'? how come I've seen streamers throughout ALL ranks being able to predict when a DH will be used when they're chasing a survivor?

No because having to use specific perks against specific killer is just bad game design.
good.
But as for dead hard: It's annoying but it's not really bad enough to be called a crutch. It's a slotwaster, though
-
Sorry, but, if you say DH is unbestable you... are just not that good.
Just, please tell me you never advised anyone to 'just bring X perk to counter (a specific killer/something a killer does)
-
L4d (left 4 dead y'know, the game Bill's from) is censored too... is there something i'm missing?
-
in short:
she has good beginner's perks, but it also means people don't yet know how and when to use them well, which commonly backfires.

Yes, the statue puzzles are in the same place as they were in RE2.
I'm doubting that you can do anything with them because there are only two of three on the map in DBD.

Naw.
-
They are ridiculous.
By all means, they are a leftover of early days of the game that just add to the grind factor now, while once upon a time they were rather a needed slowdown.
-
I think had people not used it as some ego-boosting thing to mock the killer more than to punish them for tunneling, there might not have been a change.
Except maybe having it function as a kind of BT within a certain radius of the hook, so you could take a protection hit for the person unhooking you. or something
-
*writes -proper- maps into the title, indicating that the chapel and temple are acknowledged*
*makes it clear in the first line that while those maps are nice, they don't feel 'proper' for the characters'
first two responses are about how temple and chapel are the maps for these characters.
reading comprehension is dead, isn't it?

Hold up, my slow down perks are to counter gen rushing, my aura perks are to counter stealth, my starstruck agi light born set up is to counter alturistic swf, in what world are perks not used as tools to counter play styles ?.
well, how many playstyles CAN you counter at once with one build?
take for example combo that recently grew in popularity:
corrupt/ruin. unless you have really stubborn survivors, they can use the corrupt duration to find your ruin and then all gen pressure is gone.
let's say you got that combo. let's say you got pop. only works if you hook someone. but everyone's stealthing around and your 4th perk is all ears.
what do you do?
DC?

I don't get how you came up to that conclusion.
Could you please do explain me how each of the perks I mentioned require killer to hook anyone to work in a slug situation?
Ain't that a bad faith question if I ever saw one (seeing you missed the 'etc' bit, on purpose maybe?) ... but fine, I'll humor you:
Unbreakable : One time use, if you get knocked down again, that's it.
Soul Guard: Requires to have been cursed, aka requires a hex totems you're affected by
Tenacity: You crawl faster and recover at the same time. If you have no UB/used it already and no one else can get up, tough luck. So best hope you have then is the killer hooking someone and them unhooking themself
No Mither: Requires that the killer doesn't pick you up. And killers who go for slugging at the start commonly pick up the no mither user and camp them. So, not helpful.
WGLF: Requires acquiring tokens through unhooking, protection hits, etc. not possible without hooking and potential instadowns
For The People: potentially useful, but gives you the broken status for long enough for a killer to go after whom you just picked up and down them again before downing you.
Buckle Up: This one I can give you, but only if you managed to evade the killer for long enough to pick others up
Auto Didact: requires you to get several skillchecks before it becomes useful. a killer out for gamestart slugs won't give you the chance.
and the 'general tip' of spreading out:
only potentially works if someone has UB and FTP or BU AND can get to teammates before the killer can get there.
