Someone decent against looping but allows stealth.
-
What would even be his power?
-
So 16 - 24 meters?
-
I like the idea.
How big of an area we're talking about?

Welp, devs consider that a killer that cannot force interactions for everyone in the match is not good enough of a killer, and shouldn't give you a pip.
At least that's what they told me when I asked them.
Proof :
https://imgur.com/a/hyOuW0bI mean he's not wrong technically.
The killer should be interacting with the survivors and vice-versa.

Is Devour Hope powerful? Or NOED?
Lullaby could be strong if the survivors weren't notified of its existence until you have your first stack.
Third Seal is powerful when combined with Knock Out. You should try it.

You can stealth freddy just as easily as you can wraith while he is invisble, It just requires paying attention to a lullaby and your surroundings. I done it, My friends done it, why so much lack of skill in stealth for survivors lately?
Oh..right...They have more skill making up excuses to not play stealth than actually trying to get good with it.Not pointing out anyone here, just this seems to be the normal.
The Lullaby just tells me he's nearby not where he is. Quit your ######### sir.
In most cases when you seen the environment affected by Freddy you're immediately tagged by him. What then genius? You can't stealth in the dream world.
Next you're going to tell me looping a Nurse is viable because you can stop her blinking with a pallet.
-
'Dude what the ######### was this match.'
'lol whats the issue?'
'You have to be hacking I didn't hear your heartbeat'
I was playing Freddy with Red Paint Brush. Thankfully another survivor corrected him in chat.

This was one of the first theories I saw when the flier came out. Then people latched on to the circus tent thing... With the bottle and the outfit, I'm leaning towards a traveling snake oil salesmen to coincide with the release of the shop and title of the chapter. Maybe using his Elixers as a poison type weapon, or even transform like a Mr. Hyde type thing. Something like that I suppose. We'll know soon enough!Would fit with the store that is coming out. Maybe its linked?

7 minutes minimum. Anything below that is just ridiculous.

Doc doesn’t take stealth away at all?- Survivor hears a heart beat

- Survivor screams revealing their position when trying to hide.
no, doc definitely doesn’t take away stealth. You’re completely right.
Technically you both right.
Stealth against the Doctor is harder compared to most killers but not impossible compared to the Nightmare.
But its incredibly difficult to stealth against a Doctor when his heartbeat can cover the entire map. We're also forgetting his shock attack that helps reveal the survivors that try to hide against him. Lockers aren't really effective against good Doctors and the time spent hiding in one is needed to repair the generator anyway.
Honestly I don't find him annoying at all. I much rather face a Doctor then a Hillbilly any day of the week. I do understand why survivors see him as annoying though.

Where is your sprint burst ?
It wasn't.Implying that screenshot is the same match from the video...
The exact same players, with the exact same scenario of "last man escaping", and the exact same killer.
Totally not the same match, and she totally swapped her perks for the other match.
Man, just admit you were wrong, at this point.
Please. For all I know, that could have been a SWF squad and you took a screenshot after you played on a different match.
You have the video, post the full thing so we can look at it.

I hope that these factors are taken into consideration when tuning the Emblem system, because it disproportionately hurts the already less effective killers far more than Nurse/Hillbilly/Huntress.If anything its the opposite.
I'm able to get Iridescent in chaser when playing killers like Freddy but when I play the meta killers I struggle to the Iridescent at all.
Besides its not that difficult to have 22 chases in a match. You can achieve 6 chases (7 if they Decisive) from just one survivor alone (one for each hit and hook stage). That's 24 total, not including perks.
Besides if you're struggling so much against one survivor it might not be wise to continue chasing them. You have 4 to manage after all.

Gonna have to back up with my boi Gordon on this one.

Everything in there is debatable, and so is what i said.
I agree with you that the gameplay needs to change depending on the killer but i also stand by what i said, pallet looping isn't the answer, there are other alternatives.
Pallet looping is effective vs Killers? Yes! Is it fair for the killer? No.
Face camping/tunneling is effective vs Survivors? Yes! Is it fair for the survivors? No.There is something called respecting others and not abusing things that might ruin the fun for others, just like in some games u don't drink potions in duels. Hard to explain, but i think you get the message.
I refuse doing pallet loops, using DS, face camping and tunnening, but its my way of playing i respect yours.
Fair enough.
For the record I think pallet looping is incredibly unfair for most killers but sometimes the survivors have no choice. I would like to see changes to it and thankfully we are getting those changes soon.
-
@Setsune said:
Nobody said looping was an automatic win, at least i didn't.I agree with most things you said untill the looping part. You don't have to loop, just do any of the alternatives i said above and you should be fine.
If you're in a Nightmare, find a team member or just fail a skill check, its that simple and BOOM freddy has to do everything all over again just to grab someone. You can't afford to find other members if you're being chased by Freddy. You have to keep away from them so they can rush the generators without being slow downed by Freddy
You can't fail a skill-check if your being chased being chased by Freddy if you don't have Self-Care. If you do, fair enough, however looping is much more efficient against him then relying on RNG.
The only other alternative you've listed to counter Freddy is to rush the generators. Survivors can't rush the generators if the team can't distract the Nightmare long enough for them to complete the generators.
-
Meta perks and how their's little variety on the killer side against survivors.
-
@Setsune said:
Yes, pallet looping always existed.
Why is it meta?
Is it easier to run around in circles like a monkey or try 360s, jump a window and then blind, use sprint burst and then urban evasion to stealth away, knowing the map so u can run a few pallets and gain time?Pallet looping is just the easy way out, anyone can do it and it doesn't require any effort or skill, and thats why the majority that doesn't even try to use other methods or perk combinations abuse it.
You mentioned The Nightmare before, easely one of the worst killers in DBD at the moment.
You want to know how to counter him without looping like a monkey? rush gens, freddy requires a lot of time to setup.Which is why looping shouldn't be an automatic win.
You said the Nightmare takes a lot of time to setup. You're forgetting though matches against the Nightmare are naturally longer thanks to his power (not including perks).
I'm also aware the Nightmare is easily the worst killer in DBD. But this is a killer you cannot juke, since he'll always go back to chasing you, a killer you cannot successfully stealth since he's invisible when he doesn't find you at first and then is fully aware of you position once he does.
Survivors are forced to play in a particular style against him (kinda like the Nurse). You have to loop him to buy time for your team so they can rush generators.
-
@AlexAnarchy said:
Lol, it did exist.
Just because it wasn't as meta as it is now doesn't mean it didn't exist back then. Why else would the killers run Brutal Strength before the buff in base pallet breaking speed?
Never saw it once before patch 1.4. era so either I was lucky or someones pants are on fire.
I didn't experience it therefore you're lying
Lets just ignore Blood Lodge back then lol.

Pallet looping sucks because its the most effective and optimal option. However people are forgetting that it always existed in this game, it was just harder to pull off before. It should still be option but it shouldn't be an automatic win.
Yeah, it so existed all that time that it was never a problem until the patch 1.4 era when it was created : P

Your being carried though...why would it make sense for it to give you a save? that's not how healing works in this game. From the wiki.
You are fuelled by unexpected energy when on the verge of escape. Instantly heal one Health State and sprint at 150 % of your normal running speed for 5 seconds when the Exit Gates IconHelp exitGates.png are powered.
Adrenaline is on hold if you are disabled at the moment it should take effect and will activate when freed.
Adrenaline will wake you up if you are asleep when it triggers.
Adrenaline ignores Exhaustion.
Causes Exhaustion IconStatusEffects exhausted.png for 60/50/40 seconds. It states that Adrenalines effect will be on hold if the survivor is disabled at the moment. When a survivor is picked up the killer, they're not exactly free are they?

People seem to forget that No Mithers is supposed to be the game "hard" mode.It doesn't give an advantage by design.
So where's the reward for playing at that disadvantage? The perk doesn't even have a bonus bloodpoints like some addons of the killers.
Bragging rights.
Like prestige.
-
If every killer is using the perk, then it should be easier for you to adapt to it.
Give it time. The only time BBQ is truly annoying is when you're facing the Nurse or Hillbilly.
BBQ can't see survivors that are ether within 40 meters of the hooked individual or if you position yourself right behind a generator. It's not much but it helps.
-
It is an infinite.
I stalled a Pig all game on that barn. It's ridiculous.

I doubt it since having a PTB technically doesn't mean it's released.
Would be nice though..

Please enlighten me as to how you mind game an open gate at the threshold. I didn't say I was annoyed. I just said they BM'd and that this is why a lot of killers tend to stop caring about whether or not they play "fair".Lot of good phrases here. Keep 'em coming.
To be fair, survivors that teabag are baiting you into chasing them.
He's not wrong when he says killers that invest too much time into a singular survivor lose the mind game. You're letting the annoyance of 1 survivor manipulate your judgement.
When exits gate are open at that point however then they are just bragging.
-
Ursula as a killer when?

-
Lobbies have been ######### ever since the emblem system dropped.
Not sure if its the survivors refusal to rank up or what, but its pretty ######### to wait for 10 minute matches only for the game to be over in half that time. It's seriously making me contemplating de-ranking just so I can find games easier.
-
Change the hook struggle from the spacebar to the mouse scroll wheel (up or down, it doesn't really matter).
Makes life so much easier.
-
Claudette.
The reason is obvious.
-
Leatherfaces power is to destroy dropped pallets faster and camp.
That's it. He sucks with everything else but he's an easy to use killer.
-
WGLF is fine as it is.
WGLF makes the survivors go out of their own way to save others, while BBQ is achieved naturally throughout the match.
Besides we don't need more excuses for the survivors to farm each other.

pretty good little survivor main circle jerk going on in here it seems, yeah, punish killers for having to put with being bullied and treated like #########, How about we first fix the issues that cause people to feel a need to d/c then punish them after for having no reason to do it like a proper team would do?So should we apply a double standard then?
Rules for thee, not for me.
This is turning into comedic gold.
No what we should do is stop calling out for punish this, punish that or else eventually no one will be able to do anything and the game will die, why not consider some ideals on what to do about fxcing issues that make the game unfun for each other and try coming to an agreement that hey, we should'nt be so Op here or we should'nt be so not Op here and contribute instead of limitting each other all the damn time?
I would say players rage quitting is an issue and isn't fun when it happens.
Doesn't matter if its Killer or Survivor.

I don't understand why people want to adjust Best Mither so badly. Its not that bad when combined with Leader and Resilience.
Making the survivor just start off healthy would just ruin the synergy it'll have with the injury perks.
I feel like people just purposely miss the point of it. You not suppose to run this perk for an advantage, you run it to show off.

Killer main here.Ragequitting killers shouldn't be punished to be honest. They have a right to actually ragequit. If you rage quit as a survivor, you are just really bad then.
I have ragequit once in my entire life and it was on DBD, wanna know? Because toxic survivors and stupid vacuums it's insane.
Survivor should be punished, not killers.
Killers shouldn't be punished for ruining the game for others.
But survivors should be punished for ruining the game for others.

Mc_Harty, you dismantle my post and think that breaking it down makes your point any more valid than mine. @Mc_Harty said:
@Allivan said:
When a killer prestige's to level 1, the power they wield also grows in strength. This would progress accordingly with prestige 2, and finally prestige 3 unlocking their true power.
Which is a bad idea. Why should I level a killer 200+ times so I can have a chance at higher ranks?
How about because you EARNED it? Nobody said it needed to be done to have a chance at high level play. You did.
If you are going to make killers more powerful with prestige of course its going to have an effect at higher ranks.
The killers have already earned it with the perks they unlocked.
Regardless of wearing the cosmetics or not, this would give a new purpose to people playing a killer they really enjoy, and would make prestige more useful than simply unlocking skins or finding better items slightly more often. This would make someone who truly mains a specific killer that much more dangerous than someone who simply plays a little bit of everything, and would encourage long term play.
Some players can't afford to play a long time. There are some killers and survivors alike that don't even prestige. You'll just be punishing those that don't prestige.
This isn't punishing them. It offers something special if they happen to play a little more than they do already. Saying that we should cut back on gameplay just to cater to casuals is like saying that League of Legends shouldn't have the Rune System because casuals will never have full sets, or etc.
It's punishing the players that don't want to prestige because they'll be weaker in the matches compared to the ones that do.
Also I never said we should cater to casuals. I said it'll be more punishing to players that don't have that much time to play the game or refuse to prestige.
This could also be applied to survivors and their starting perks, or even at each prestige level as they could gain micro perks applicable only to them. Special things that would further distinguish them from the other survivors and make them unique.
Survivors aren't unique though. Not compared to killers. They all play the exact same way.
This further proves my point. Why shouldn't survivors be unique?
Why should they?
They play the exact same as each other. Killers play differently from each other with their powers.
You know, there's nothing wrong with expanding the gameplay. To shun an idea because it would make it "too broken against new players" is keeping a shallow mind and being shortsighted. New players are going to be destroyed against a Prestige 3 player as it is, and they will learn with experience and as they level up, and they will also get better at surviving. Just as we all did.
Sorry I thought this was a public forum meant to discuss ideas.
P3 doesn't mean 'skill' it just shows how much time you've invested into this game.
Ok?
So why should something that is purely cosmetic have an in-game stat reward to it? The P3 killers already have invested time into the game and understand the mechanics better, why should they get a stat boost because they play the game more? Its just favoritism at that point.
So instead of shooting down ideas you don't like, how about being constructive to the game. This was actually a good idea and many people I've mentioned this to agree. It also fits with the lore, how fulfilling the wishes of the Entity will grant the individual it's favor.
People think my idea is fantastic why don't you?
Maybe because I disagree with it? As is my right as an individual?
Are you really that triggered a stranger on the internet didn't like an idea you've presented? [BAD WORD] kek.
Not triggered. Again, you throw around words to make yourself seem more valid. I was being nice about it lol.
Because people like my idea therefore it's good is any more valid.
I wouldn't expect a brand new player to spawn in with Prestige 3 all perks without working for it, would you? How fair would that be? Likewise, if they start a trial and end up playing against a killer who is Prestige 3 with all perks, played for thousands of hours, how far do you think a new player will actually get anyways? They don't know that running wild will leave a trail of scratch marks, and leading a killer to your allies will get them killed as well. That's something they learn from playing. You can't just expect to cater to them in a survival horror game. It comes with the territory. If you play the role of "Survivor", you might end up getting killed a few times.
I never said we should cater to new players.
I said it'll be unfair for them. It already is when they ether face a survivor team or killer with every perk in the game. It shouldn't be more so.
Exactly. Lets expand gameplay to further enhance high level play. That's where people end up anyways, why make the game have less end game then it could?
This game has no end game at all.
Even after you gather all the perks and have every character on P3, you just keep consistently level up characters.
