I see this thread is getting ambushed by BHVR apologists.
https://media.giphy.com/media/12aW6JtfvUdcdO/giphy.gif -
It's ######### boring. After 3 years of playing on my own, I only touch survivor when my friends ask me too.
-
It's a dumpster fire. Don't bother coming back while the game is in this state.
And considering how slow these devs are, it's going to take literal years to fix anything.
-
Knock yourself out. What are the devs going to do, ban you for camping?
-
I don't insult them.
Does that count?

The other argument was "That it's meant to be a high risk high reward trade off" which is BS, because lets say there is an early middle and late game, it was moderately useful in middle and very powerful in late game, which is debateable on it's own but they claim that is the case so lets say it is-
In like 7/10 matches it is gone in the first 60 seconds or less, more or less games depending roughly on rank but still, and then like the other 2 it's gone in the middle and maybe one game it might make it to the late game at all. Most people just plow through the first 2 gens now unlike old ruin and then destroy it because it doesn't even phase them early on.
Then soon as 1 or 2 gens are done they pop it, so it doesn't make it to the middle game where it might have actually done something- this happens almost every single time.
That isn't a "Gamble" that isn't a high risk high reward. Imagine if I asked you to go skydiving with a chute that only opened 7/10 times and I would pay you $200,000, and 2/10 times it opened only once you hit the ground, and 1/10 times it actually works just barely. Would you still jump?
You know it's funny... some guy in a different thread had an issue with me saying that ruin + surveillance was a mediocre build.
Like yeah, I know where the survivors are so what? I still can't chase them off gens and guard the totem at the same time.
I rather run Weasel cause at least It's consistent.

BHVR's logic to this was "Even if it stays up for only 30 or 60 seconds you still got extreme value out of the perk" pretty much what one of the devs said, which is blind blowingly wrong.
It certainly highlights their inability to listen or ignorance to how their games actually work.
-
Leave it. Don't even bother giving it a chance.
-
Money.

Saying the game was ruined because of the ruin nerf is a bit ridiculous and an overstatement...
Your right.
This game got ruined because BHVR rather cater to new players over their current ones.

I did try and give it the benefit of the doubt, but it's useless.
It can be somewhat half decent if you can pressure a lot as like Demo, or Freddy or someone....but only if it stays up for a short while. It never does though, it's gone in 60 seconds or less, making it a wasted perk slot.
Because it's a hex.
If it doesn't have an immediate effect (haunted grounds, old ruin) or a good one (devour hope), then it's useless.
Don't worry though, I'm pretty certain BHVR knew what their were doing by making it good on killers that didn't even need the perk in the first place.
-
A functional one.
-
"We understand your concerns with matchmaking, that's why we're hiding ranks and putting out a system no one will have any idea if it'll actually work"

Oh boy do I know sarcasm really well, that's how I can tell what you are really trying to say.
By claiming I'm a victim by not liking a perk....
I dunno, seems like you don't know what I'm saying even if I'm telling you bluntly.

This is quite clearly a top tier perk that dare I say is even better than old ruin. Because my God... think of all that pressure you might get against all those new players that have no idea how to hit a skill check.
Killers need more nerfs. #changemymind #killermain
The same victim attitude many users of this forum have adopted "le survivors asking for nerfs and devs catering for new players because they hate me ;.(".
Someone can't tell what sarcasms is..

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how its reading
It's exactly how it's going.
It's hilarious.

You’re really lacking the concept that killers don’t need to get all 4 survivors every single time right? Some of the killers That I have seen (which are most often played 9 times out of 10 - which should be another sign something isn’t right) are capable of efficiently taking out all 4 survivors on a consistent basis. But okay.
I'm getting lectured with the good old 'you don't need a 4k' by someone who can't see or outrun a Wraith.
Truly we live in the strangest timeline.
-
No one knows why it's still a thing.
Not even BHVR.

Yup. It really did.
But that's what happens when you balance for "fun" and the casual playerbase. You remove any depth the game had and just make it a shallow experience.
I don't mind games being balanced around being enjoyable but it's certainly clear BHVR has no idea what their own community finds fun in this game.

Maybe try using your eyes. Then you won't be "unaware" anymore.
Not even Wraith is 100% invisible in this game. You can even see Wraith's shimmer from across the map. If you get caught unaware by a stealth killer, that's not because the killer is OP. That's because you weren't paying attention to your surroundings.
And the devs balance the game around people like him...
God this game really went to ######### didn't it?
-
Nope he's just that delusional.

That reminds me of that ridiculous "new ruin is insidious" statement Almo made that one time...like...really?
*Ruin gives a visible notification that stays on your screen constantly reminding you of its existence*

This is hilarious with context.

I just wanna do my challenges man
Sorry BHVR only prefers frustrating games.
-
Don't play?
-
They are ######### around so they can pip. It's one of the flaws with the emblem system.
-
I've been playing Bloodborne. And you know what? Despite that game being difficult and (that chalice dungeon with half health) being frustrating, I have never felt cheated when I lost a boss fight.
DBD is draining and I question why any longtime player continues playing this game.

Will you insist that it only lasts the first minute of the game this whole discussion and play victim again? Even if it lasts 5 minutes you still got some value out of it, come on, try the combo, its pretty good specially on killers like legion and pig that force survivors to stay out of gens.
I'm playing victim for saying why I don't like the perk.
That reach was so far Mr Fantastic would be jealous.

Passive gen regression + massive map pressure is mediocre.
Sure.
That's the whole point of hex perks, risk/reward, if you manage to keep ruin going you are gonna get highly compensated.
Have you at least tried it?
So their are supposed to be cleansed at the start of the game then...
Wow fantastic. Now I can play with 3 perks instead of 4. Clearly new Ruin is soooooooo op.
No seriously, lets ignore the fact that that totem spawns have been ######### for years now, it's going to take even more years with these map rework and the fact that survivors can just simply negate the perk by simply staying on the damn generator.
This is quite clearly a top tier perk that dare I say is even better than old ruin. Because my God... think of all that pressure you might get against all those new players that have no idea how to hit a skill check.
Killers need more nerfs. #changemymind #killermain

It's mediocre. Why bother waste 2 slots for gens when Weasel is far better?

Surveillance + Ruin, the most "mediocre" build in the game.
I find it mediocre when the build gets disable under a ######### minute.
So glad you agree with me.
-
Because most people that argue that are talking out of their asses.
Everyone has been asking for better totem placement since they came out. BHVR is practically useless to fix any major core issues in this game.
-
Just make them scream. Doesn't matter who.
-
They'll be better then their own maps by a long margin.

This guy.
You shouldn't need Enduring to get a free hit at a pallet with spirit fury
You shouldn't need Botany to speed up Self Care
You shouldn't need Sloppy to slow down more with Thana
You miss the point entirely. The Hex perk is good. But synergies are even better, and that is the point of a BUILD
Why the hell would anyone waste time, blood points and perk slots to have a mediocre build when better perks exists on their own

That wasn't the case in otz's game. He won by a landslide even against prove thyself and toolboxes on a bad map using bad perks.
That's a wonderful exaggeration.
-
Yeah, yeah, tell me to run it when it won't explode within 20 seconds.
'Late game hex btw'
-
Simple.
You don't. Find other games to distract you from this dumpster fire.

Dude i hated that Chalice. That dog had me on the verge of breaking down in tears. Amy was just a long tense 30 minute battle.
######### that dog. Also the undead giant from the earlier chalices.
Only 2 bosses that made me question my sanity.
-
That chalice dungeon in Bloodborne that halves your health.
But even then, dbd takes the cake.
-
Imagine getting hit with Third Seal and no notification pops up.
No thanks.
-
Blood Echo.
Thought it would be only good with Legion and Plague. Messing around with it made me realise how great it is.
-
Blood Echo, Weasel, BBQ and Brutal Strength has been going very well for me.
-
Blood Echo is a top tier perk.
-
'There's no way to counter him, Doc is OP'
JFC did every survivor forget about Calm Spirit?
-
No. If survivors want to play like idiots they get treated like idiots.

When Oni was released, (when he was a monster that could not be stopped) it was a monstrous perk at red rank. A good Oni will have everyone injured all the time, wanting to heal to avoid giving him more power, but unable to once he's gotten it the first time. As a result, in multiple games I found myself literally unable to use exhaustion perks in these games.
I enjoy it on plague and also legion if I run the legion pin.
Honestly it still is a good perk. The ability to punish injured survivors and counter 5/6 exhaustion perks is amazing from my perspective.
I'm honestly shocked it's not used that much considering the amount of Dead Hards I've negated.
-
Been using it on Doc. You don't notice the effects that much as killer.
One thing I will say though is that it makes me giddy seeing 4 Dead Hards in a match, and survivors unable to use them because of the "Rush gen no heal meta" going on.
Criminally underrated imo.
-
Either it gets cleanse immediately or it just doesn't help much when it lasts.
Besides I'm more of a Weasel kind of guy.
