  • Not too sure, but heavy anti-loop is meh to face.

I've always seen her power as her shooting nurse(s)... but as a projectile.

  • Playing stealthy is completely fine by me as long as those doing it (a lot) are being productive.

However, it does get irritating when those who play so stealthy won't even attempt to save teammates who desperately need agro taken off of them. A simple altruistic body block can go a long way.

  • I can understand the feeling.

It's there too whenever I think of playing survivor whether it be solo or with some friends since nearly every match is against a Nurse or Blight with the occasional face camping Bubba.

  • I'm surprised reading people getting corn.

All I'm seeing left and right is Gideon Meat Plant and Swamp ugh-

  • Yeah, this game is stuck in a cycle with both sides having to deal with valid issues. Hoping for a well-rounded balance patch soon... or after 20 chapters.

Amazing but you should add that if all four survivors surround the killer they can kill them collectively after try me activates.

Ah yes! Survivors mori-ing the killer!

  • (Survivor)

    Try me:

If the killer hits you on-hook or attempts to shake their camera at you upon downing you,

All generators will instantly be completed and every survivor will be healed.

The killer is then stunned for 5/25/100 seconds.

Clearly very balanced and should be implemented.

That's why I stopped caring about dbd YT videos unless it's new content because most videos are just the content creator trying to bully the other side whilst proving the improper balance of the game. Every video is so repetitive too.

    "I MADE THIS KILLER DC"

    "UNSTOPPABLE KILLER MAKING SURVIVORS CRY"

    "LOOPING KILLERS FOR DAYS"

    "PUNISHING EVERY SURVIVOR"

The only titles we see from DBD YT vids.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. I haven't seen one in over a month and I play every day. Clearly, they've been removed and are no longer a killer in DbD.

Damn it! I never got to say goodbye. At least I can use their latest replacement as my forum pfp as Charlie and Victoria.

That’s a statement I find hard to believe. Do you have evidence of such a killer in DbD?

Oh wait, this might've been the wrong game. Whoopsie daisy.

There was definitely a murderous duo in Dead Rising 2 so that's probably who I meant.

I use stealth + exposed builds on Lery's too. Why not?

I can confidently say survivors benefit from them more. For every time you get enough BP to play a killer build like that, you will be sent to Coldwind 10 times. I can literally get strode keyed like 3+ times in a row some nights, i'm sure even more now that MMR is a thing. And then at the end the survivors will still complain that they got camped and tunneled lul.

I'm not sure how much of an issue I think it is. The overwhelming majority of maps are survivor sided so it's not like playing on a survivor sided map is anything new. Map offerings are not really the problem, the maps themselves are.

Well, let's say I like to bring killers on The Game with a 4-man squad full of DH or BL. (this is an example)

Then that would make us even, correct? But would that create a healthy environment for the overall community? No.

Even if most of the matches are survivor-sided as you claimed, why not implement the change that would prevent a guarantee in going there? Where's the harm in that? I simply don't see anything bad happening from disabling map offerings.

It almost seems like you want to defend map offerings so that you'll be able to use them in the future to pull off a scheme despite you acknowledging that map offerings are impactful. Just because survivors sent you somewhere doesn't mean you should just do it back. How about we end this devious cycle?

But to conclude, until I receive a solid reason that disabling map offerings would be harmful to the game (at its current state), then my opinion remains the same.

  • Anyone who plays both sides (at a good amount) would be able to understand the issues both sides have to deal with.

  • I don't even know either.

It does need to be addressed soon because I would not recommend this game to a new person any time soon and even if they decide to hop on, they'll most likely leave once they realize the insane grind.

I like them alot as killer. Considering 80% of the maps are survivor sided it's nice to go to some one's that are not utter BS to deal with sometimes.

Plus we have sacrificial wards now. It's actually sort of crazy to think I have not been strode keyed in months though. Right now it's the endless Coldwind + Springwood spam with maybe some Eerie of crows and Meat Plant thrown in there.

I can understand why you may feel that way, but it still opens opportunities for "those" players.

The one time a sacrificial ward actually helped me was when I accidentally equipped it last second and it was against a Wraith with a full expose build attempting to take us to Lery's. Yeah, we got lucky there. My issue with the ward is that it requires you to know that a map is being played which isn't in the game yet so you'll just have to take a risk burning it to effectively use it. It's not even a common offering either.

  • @MilManson said:

Map offerings shouldn't be available for survivors, the killer already has to deal with enough sweat.

Giving only killers access to map offerings does not help the ideology of survivor mains vs killer mains. Or what's it called? Us vs Them?

If the game wants to be in a healthier state, it has to be balanced for both sides.

  • New ideas for the environment would be so cool! As long as they're implemented in a healthy way.

  • @sonata93 said:

Isn't the issue here maps, not map offerings though?

You wouldn't see nearly as many offerings if maps such as The Game weren't so broken and survivor sided, or maps like Shelter Woods which really favor the killer. Offerings are the secondary issue here - if certain maps weren't broken then people would only use offerings because they like a specific realm, not because it gives them a competitive advantage.

As mentioned above, balancing all of the maps to an equal level to the point where neither side can abuse it for their scheme would take the team way too long.

Also, every map has its gimmick or type of style so I wouldn't be surprised if either side still finds a way to take advantage of it. Stealth killers would heavily benefit from Lery's and a sweat squad would use the best map at the time.

However let's say the devs are working on the maps, the offerings are still being used as tools to spread devious schemes so it's best to perhaps disable them in the meantime.

Oh god I hate The Game, and i'm a survivor, even if it has a lot of pallets it's so annoying, same with Midwich, I much rather run in an open field than go to those 2 maps.

But I think we can all agree, RPD is probably the worst map.

I felt that. I don't do well that much on indoor maps.

Surprisingly, I actually enjoy RPD! Playing RE2 made it easier for me to memorize the map.

  • If she wasn't announced so early then perhaps there would've been more excitement.

  • I thought it was a steam pipe or a metal rod similar to a generator since the perk affects gens.

  • I've always believed that her vile purge should feel more threatening in exchange for corrupt purge being nerfed.

I play plague a lot, but it's somewhat boring when no one wants to give corrupt and it becomes an m1 game with everyone coughing.

Honestly I dont really mind any killer on any map, only one I find a little annoying is nurse on midwhich because shes everywhere 😂

Those builds are fun to verse, sadly I never seem them anymore thanks to mmr but damn did I love versing jumpscare myers on hawking's lol

    Well, at least you're accepting.

I've never faced an impossible skill check against doc yet, but the last time I ran against jumpscare Myers was on hawkings too, but I accidentally went in with no perks so that was interesting.

Range add-ons are badly designed, so I won't contest that. But it is completely provably capable to evade a Nurse evenly, assuming an even skill match-up. I don't mean any offense by this, but it sounds like MMR is just putting you against Nurses that are better than you are at playing against.

    Perhaps that's the case.

My past survivor games have all been meta-using nurses and blights and I'm so freaking tired of it.

  • At this current state?

I wouldn't recommend it. Grind is too much, the community is iffy, and most of the characters are locked behind a pay-wall or grind-wall.

    Yeah no.

  • Tried countless times.

Sure they may whiff a hit every now and then, but she'll just blink nearly instantaneously right next to me after she recovers. Or If I attempt LoS, nearly all nurses I face run range add-ons so she'll literally be on my booty cheeks in seconds.

I don't run Dead Hard or Iron Will so all nurse players, you're welcome.

  • @MilManson said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2885044#Comment_2885044

Lmao, have you ever played nurse with no addons? With this change one missed blink means the survivors will be already onto the other side of the map, thank god SURVIVOR mains aren't the developers.

Or getting a perfect blink and then the survivor skill hards, grats the survivor is now on the other side of the map and you need around 6 blinks to catch up.

Assuming I'm a survivor main lol.

I don't play nurse because I don't want to play a killer who just ignores all forms of survivor defenses and mechanics.

This change was to at least give some extra distance for survivors against a good nurse.

If you can land your blinks, then having to wait 3 seconds for a blink after fatigue shouldn't be a struggle lol.

  • I wish Nurse had a longer blink cooldown.

I find it funny how she can start recovering tokens once she hits fatigue. I think it should start after fatigue ends. That would help without directly increasing the token recovery values.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

See I'm mixed views, on one hand I hate map offerings especially when it comes to survivors to gain an unfair advantage or even nurse on midwhich.

But if it comes to say jump scare myers, impossible skill check, etc. Then I'm all for them using maps

First time reading someone not minding those builds.

  • @Sepex said:

I don't mind Auto/MacMillan offerings. Even though they choose the realm they don't get to choose which map specifically, which in turn keeps it rng based.

Yeah, I actually don't mind those ones. As you already mentioned, a specific map can't be chosen only the realm.

  • Definitely the power of friendship!

  • I personally don't like him only because wraith games are generally boring.

I'd rather go against the other stealth killers because there's at least more spice in their matches.

I don't think Wraith is powerful at all. Just very... plain.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Disabling map offerings doesn't fix the core issue of why they're a problem which is that a lot of maps are not balanced. If maps were balanced then the offerings wouldn't be a problem.

    @Zozzy said:

You know what would be better? Balanced maps so offerings don't matter.

The issue is, not every map would be easy to balance to the point that neither side would "abuse it" to make their devious scheme work.

Indoor maps would still favor stealth killers who want to play scummy with whatever disastrous build they come up with.

Sweat squads would simply use the map that favors them. Since every map has its own gimmick/style, the squad would make plans around it.

Not to mention, BHVR would take at least another 80 or so chapters to even "balance" every map. Action should be taken now. because these offerings are causing more harm than good.

  • I prefer using SB because it makes dangerous spots less threatening.

At least with SB, once the killer catches up to the survivor, it's fair game. The killer shouldn't expect a dash to give the survivor the distance they need.

With DH, survivors can make a mistake and recover from it. Heck, they can even stay in the same loop and keep you occupied in the same area until you're close and OOP- DH into the pallet...

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

In ideal world I would just remove the offerings from the game for the sake of balance for the both sides.

However, If we want to keep them, then I would reduce A LOT the power of them.

    1 map offering = 20% chance

    2 same map offerings = 40% chance

    3 same map offerings = 60% chance

    4 same map offerings = 100% chance

The anti-map offering ward would get buffed that No metter how many offerings are played, it will be always random choice. No extra % for any map.

Imagine returning to dbd and just seeing 4 jigsaw pieces being burned at the same time.

Sadly sweat squads would still have a higher chance of pulling this off unlike killers, but I agree. The balance of this game (for both sides) needss help and removing these damn offerings would be in the right direction.

  • I'm glad to see everyone is on the same boat!

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Artist is fun, I wish more people played her.

Twins are an abomination and should be forgotten.

I suppose the Twins are getting the same treatment from the community as they did within their lore.

  • You're getting farm?

All I'm seeing is either Gideon Meat Plant or Swamp.

  • I want to see any creation they make!

I prefer originals over licensed. Not saying I dislike license, but seeing BHVR's creative works is a lot more fascinating.

Since it's the anniversary, I'm sure they're planning on something big even if it is original.

  • Yeah, this is what DBD has unfortunately become.

I made a similar thread regarding this issue and the cycle between killers/survivors and what high MMR feels like.

The other haste perks are not used anyway. no one equipping Hope over Borrow time or dead hard etc.

I suppose, but you never know. I wouldn't want to run against a SWF that places this version of DT in a good main building with Blood Pact or Dead Hards. I'm good.

The 2% speed is fine since speed is something that needs to be carefully touched. It just needs a secondary effect.

  • @OpenX said:

Spine chill, kindred, windows of opportunity. Those are probably the three best beginner perks. When to run, when to save, and where to run to.

    These!

But once you get a good grip, you can try to run specific combos. Windows + Lithe, Spine Chill + Iron Will, Self-care + Botany, Spine chill + resilience.

Idk what I brought when I was a newbie, but I think it was Technician, Urban Evasion, Self-care, and Sprint Burst haha. Oh old times :)

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

more haste like 5-7% would make the perk better.

That would be so busted. Not to mention, it ain't stopping people from combining it with other perks to go even faster...

  • Head On!

Although it can definitely be at no value in some matches, it can be so dynamic in others! I've saved so many of my friends in a bad area by telling them to loop around the locker real quick & vice versa.

It's also fun getting some killers paranoid to the point where they would try to avoid lockers that I purposely run by even though no one was in there!

I wish it could get some small buffs, but it's a nice perk overall <3

  • @NemmyMan3000 said:

My only problem with DH is survivors using it to dash straight into a wall and the hit will not register even tho you're directly behind them. Or use it to go through you.

The 1st part sounds like something clunky is happening with the hitboxes. The 2nd part does get frustrating at times too although luckily it can be easily waited out and wacking them as they're next to you.

    @KerJuice said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2876368#Comment_2876368

Lolol yes that is an option as well. If they do that, they need to remove useless/redundant perks too. We have way too many healing perks in the game and Red Herring sucks IMO.

Red Herring needs a huge buff and QOL to make it better and easier to pull off.

  • Some survivors act like they're a god when they know they have the advantage, but their ego jumps out the window once they see the killer is their match.

  • I'd argue that Exponential is the worst, but that's from personal experience.

A secondary effect would definitely make Dark Theory more impactful. Just like a similar post, I'd agree that vault speed would be pretty good.

  • I did notice that it didn't have a concrete secondary effect although I was confused whether the linger effect WAS the secondary effect.

The vault speed fits best with the perk and would definitely make Dark Theory have a much better impact in the trial.

  • You'll likely get sacrificed then.

Don't stress though. It wasn't your fault anyway.

  • I'd like this.
