I'm gonna try to be as nice as possible, but you miss played hard dude, you can't lay the blame on gen speeds only. Also, that was more than likely a SWF with toolboxes while your running no Ruin.

Your first mistake was tagging that person in frenzy and sticking on them when you could of left her mending and not taken a pallet to the face... You should of split and found out the location of every other survivor on the map while in frenzy and tagged them all to keep them busy and off of gens. Your job as a killer is to keep them busy and not let them feel safe, as soon as you tunnel someone not near any gens you are already throwing the match. Versus a SWF a mistake can cost you the match and you had a ton here I'm not gonna get into.

I do believe that gens need some looking into when it comes to SWF as they power through gens when there is no Ruin in play. Heck sometimes even with Ruin they just get no skill checks or land every single one.. But, with straight solo players with no coordination really, they just get worked over, lets be honest. Just run Ruin dude because you would benefit from it from what I saw in your vid. Take the RNG chance they might not find it early because you can use it.

He and others have explained multiple times why Ruin is heavily overrated. It honestly does nothing unless you're a killer with no mobility (Huntress) or a killer that needs time at the beginning at all costs (Trapper, Hag, and Myers). Other than those four, Ruin is a joke of a perk and the only reason people run it so often is because every other stall perk is so trash it's not worth running.

He misplayed, yes, but that misplay happened after he lost 3 gens in a minute and a half. You cannot recover from that if the survivors aren't braindead. Period.

I mean, the way you’re talking though, you would think killers are only winning 30% of games...and we know that ain’t true. The stronger killers, not only the killers but players themselves, can deal with gens as is... so why would we nerf the survivor objective and leave those killers alone, making them STRONGER? That doesn’t make any sense at all if balance is what you are after. You want to balance survivors to mid tier or worse level killers? Then bring all killers to that point. That’s completely fair. I think you might be going overboard with the whole “power role” crap, remember....balance is 2K.

Because most survivors are trash at this game. That simple.

It's so pathetically easy to hold M1 while someone runs from pallet to pallet to window to infinite to shack to pallet etc. If the majority of the playerbase actually learned how to play instead of complaining at any possible buff killers ever got, the devs would have buffed killers long, long ago.

  • I'm sorry, anyone defending the fact that three gens got done in a minute and a half is out of their mind. That's all there is to say on that front.

More than half of an objective being done after one chase is absurd. That's not debatable.

  • For anyone saying Gideon is killer-sided, they made the pallet count on that map a minimum of 15 in patch 2.3. And it always spawns 4 of the safest pallets in the entire game all in close proximity to each other.

Gideon hasn't been a balanced map in months.

Yeah no #########, but the devs rather punish the players.

Which is dumb, because literally anyone can run them without being aware of the bugs to them. And you can just disable them so they can't be abused. But whatever, BHVR can keep being dipshits I guess.

  • The better option would be to disable the bugged perks/add-ons so they can't be used at all. Then enable them when they're fixed.

    1) Where did I insult you LOL

    2) If you set a release date, you better release. If you don't there will be hell to pay.

    3) You are overreacting if you think these MINOR changes constitute content that "isn't ready".

It's not the "minor" changes, it's the fact that Ghostface sucks and yet he's still receiving any kind of nerfs. That's why he's obviously not ready to be released.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/532089#Comment_532089

Dude the set a deadline. June 18th is when the killer comes out. You really think they would push it back to have another PTB just to test what are actually super minor changes?

They tested one version, it was too weak. They tested another version, it was a TAD too strong. They know where he sits now, no further testing needed.

I swear, the way people are overreacting to this is almost comical.

Ghostface and Strong should never be in the same sentence lmfao

The goal with this VFX was to provide more visual feedback and make stuns consistent and understandable. I've talked with Designers and they confirmed that we adjusted the VFX to lessen the impact on players. The live version has a lighter VFX than the PTB version. We'll keep a close eye on that one and I invite you to keep on giving feedback.

How about get rid of the damn vfx that nobody asked for

  • I used to play multiple hours a day almost every day. One point I split time between DBD and Deceit, but went back to mostly DBD every day. Now I'm too obsessed with literally every FromSoft game to play DBD unless I'm drunk (though my disenchantment with the game's balance decisions definitely helped with that decision)

  • To those who are saying Billy is balanced, have you ever seen a good survivor squad loop a Billy to oblivion?

He also sucks. Yet he's the definitive second best killer. Should be proof enough that the game is in a horrible state of balance.

  • @Poweas said:

Still more boring than being on the side when they DC. And survivor in general is boring as hell compared to killer.

Killer is fun, the DC's can ruin a game, but it's nowhere near as bad as being on the survivor side.

More like the game itself has gotten so damn boring that both sides feel like a chore to play.

couldn't agree more mate. Sad that it has gotten to this state but at this point it has to otherwise i don't see any way how the game can be improved upon if things carried on as they have been.

If enough people just stop playing and buying their #########, then they'll wise up. All they care about is money.

Dude. learn to program. learn to design. learn everything that you need to know about unreal and game developing, and then start making a game... and try to comunicate .... then we'll see

Funny you say that, cause I'm actually a programmer for my day job. Not a game programmer, but I still code a pretty damn good amount.

I've seen dead games have more communication with their communities than BHVR ever has. If they clearly communicated with us, then Plague wouldn't be so garbage, Legion wouldn't have been so boring, and the game overall would just be in a much better state. But they think they know everything better than everyone else, so they force stuff like Legion rework, the joke known as Ghostface's stealth, and a goddamn battle pass down our throats.

Literally give this IP to anyone not named Gun Media and it would be much better handled.

Sure, because we're treating matters of the utmost importance here. You know, we're fixing poverty, hunger, human rights and stuff alike.

It's a videogame. Let that sink in.

It's not about it being a video game; the dev team actually doesn't think highly of their community's members as people. This is shown by their unwillingness to communicate with us or take any kind of feedback. They just do whatever they want and spit in our face.

But keep assuming I can't live without DBD, man.

  • When being civil has absolutely no impact, people turn to being more direct/aggressive. I went with the sarcastic approach in my thread.

But nobody should be surprised about this. They refuse to listen, we'll call them out for it.

  • I know for a fact that isn't the record, streamers/devs have had much more than that.

But I'm not gonna lie, did not expect as many as I got on the OP. Really happy such a huge number agree with me.

    @Maximus7

I think you're over exaggerating things here because they are looking into Ghost Face to make him a better killer. Also, Ghost Face isn't the only killer being looked at since Freddy is getting an overhaul buff, and they just recently mentioned Leather Face getting an update. A few troublesome perks got changed: DS got a rework a while ago and MoM is getting a balance change; you're actually getting what you asked for and you're still upset about it? BHVR is doing their absolute best to make the game balanced and fun for both roles, not just the killer. While I agree survivors are still really strong, without BHVR, the game would be unplayable for the killer role because there would still be things such as double pallets and pallet vacuum. I know they re-introduced double pallets, but that's just happens when the map doesn't have their minimum amount.

Can you at least be happy for the things BHVR did and not focus solely on their mistakes? Every company makes their mistakes, no one is perfect.

I was the first one to praise their best patches (2.0 and 2.1). I also said MoM nerf was good in another thread. But just about everything else they have done as of late is either not meaningful enough or flat out sucks.

Freddy never needed a rework, he just needed QoL changes like Adrenaline and Self-Care not waking you up. Instead, they're about to destroy him.

Peanits already said in another thread they won't have time to fix Ghostface.

Plague and Clown are still garbage.

Legion went from trash to dumpster fire.

And you want me to PRAISE BHVR?

If this is BHVR at their best, I don't want to see their worst.

  • "We've reworked MoM again. To compensate, we removed all of Freddy's stall and aura reading."

    -BHVR

  • One of the few changes in recent memory that I absolutely love. Nice.

  • Apparently calling someone out for being dumb and joking about myself drinking bleach are against forum policy. *Shrugs*

Some people still believe that she's good hence why arguments happen. I thought you quit this game anyway?

Took too long for me to respond to this, but here I go.

I care because I will never deny I loved this game and I was truly passionate about it. Why else would I waste 1.6k hours on it? I wanted (and still want at times) this game to improve and reach its high potential. But after too many terrible patches, the only way BHVR will ever learn is if everyone else also wises up and leaves the game for literally anything else. Maybe then they'll make actual improvements to the game instead of catering to one side and pushing out mediocre content.

  • 1. Dumb mobile put the quote below the comment lmfao. Idk how to fix this.

    2. The more I work at my job and get paid, the more I realize my money is valuable. When I was in college, I kept dropping money on this game's DLCs until Spirit, then two others bought me Legion and Plague for God knows what reason. But that money comment is so right, I can't justify spending more money on BHVR products after the work I put in to earn said money. Their products just aren't good enough.

True, but the problem is that stats already showed that it actually benefits the game to have strong Killers. Survivors lost their ######### when Curtain Call released, but the game was never healthier than during 2.0.0 and 2.1.0. I hate that the devs ignore those stats and also those that show that the game was never unhealthier than when Survivors dominated.

While I agree with you, he does say he "complains with flair". And that's not a negative, I love this guy. Just more saying he's purposely exaggerating his point.

    • Pop Goes The Weasel: Changed Regression values from 15%/20%/25% to a flat 25% across all tiers. Changed window of activation from 30 seconds to 40/50/60 seconds
    • Territorial Imperative: Reduced cooldown to 30/25/20 seconds down from 60/45/30

and also freddy is getting reworked, and he'll probably be a strong killer.

not to mention that the unbreakable buff is only 10%.

    don't be a crybaby pls.

So Pop gets an increased timer instead of being on a counter system, Territorial is still worthless, and a Freddy rework that's gonna gut him are your counterpoints? All to defend a game-changing perk getting buffed? Okay, chief.

You do release Plague is weak because the opposite is occurring right?

Survivors aren't using the fountains at all. Because they realise the killer gets massive benefits when she has access to them.

In fact you want survivors to use the fountains. So you can have a chase tool.

Either way, the only killer worse than Plague is Ghostface

Honestly if they admitted to having trouble with making powers I would be fine if they took a break from making content and collected themselves before they make more killers and perks.

Didn't someone at BHVR pride themselves in having a workplace with "no deadline culture"? That isn't their biggest lie ever, but it's clear things are heavily rushed.

Like, seriously? Handing a free heal to the Survivors? Whoever thought of this on staff has never played as Killer. Ever.

But you're forgetting that if it didn't do that, it would be oppressive™

Every Killer since the Clown has been buffed in their PTB cycle.

(although Plague changes hurt her more in the end,she still recived a lot of buffs)

Clown has been bugged and Shadow nerfed into being bottom tier, idk what you're talking about.

Spirit got buffed to viability with the right add-ons, but she's still bad at base (like every killer minus Nurse)

Legion got buffed, then hard nerfed. He now has one playstyle, which also got nerfed hard.

Plague and buffs don't ever appear in the same sentence. She's even worse than Clown.

The last killer they made strong on release was Freddy, and yet constant complaining got him hard nerfed. And now he's most likely going to be even worse next mid-chapter patch.

There's a difference between saying something along the lines of "Ghost's power is terrible because very rarely can you activate the exposed status due to survivors having free control of their camera at all times" and "This killer is a travesty and a spit in the face of every killer everywhere. BHVR hates killers and wish they all never bought their game. Literal dogshit tier killer, whoever made this should be fired".

One is constructive criticism. The other is just flaming. Let me know if you need further clarification.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/508755#Comment_508755

I can't speak of The Plague (was taking a break from the game) but I know that Spirit and Legion both received PTB changes based on feedback or very soon after launch. That is a decent track history based on the last 2 of 3 recent killers at least.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/508851#Comment_508851

And yet there were many people who did say that they wanted a "Battle Pass" or were indifferent (myself included, why should I care if they offer more options for people spending their own cash on optional cosmetics with no gameplay impact).

At no point in my post did I say "This killer is a travesty and a spit in the face of every killer everywhere. BHVR hates killers and wish they all never bought their game. Literal dogshit tier killer, whoever made this should be fired".

Other than that, I have no comment on anything due to being at work.

  • I love checking back in on this community once in a while and seeing more and more people realize BHVR just wants your money. They don't care about how good or bad their product is. Drop the game and play one that's actually good, DBD sucks now

  • Double post, my bad

  • Best build is the disconnect option because she sucks

  • @DocOctober said:

It was a dev stream like a week or two after his launch. Other than that, it hasn't been mentioned since.

The best about Freddy is that you must use your M2 ability to gain the right to M1 one survivor after xxx seconds ... this is just OP !

Freddy easily wins the prize of the worst killer between both :)

The whole point of his power is to put as many survivors asleep at once as possible to cause a stall. If you play him more like Doc, you would be surprised at how he's basically a much better Doc

  • Legion was always worse than Freddy, though Freddy's rework, if anything like Legion's, might make him worse. We'll have to wait and see

  • The only nerf she needs is to extra blink and range add-ons. Otherwise, she's fine.

  • @Delfador said:

    I agree with you.

As far as I know, you are an old player so you might know the initial ptb for the clown. There might be newer players that don't know how the pre release clown was so I am gonna point this out.

In his ptb, while holding his bottle, clown was getting slowed down. IIRC, his movement speed while holding the bottle was 105%. His 'power' was literally hindering him rather than being a help.

That's why I doubt developers so much. I know it is going to suck reading this but they don't know their own game or how it works.

Some of the buffs that we are talking about like more effective clown bottles, trapper being able to carry 3 traps, raising pig's slow crouch speed, fixing impaired vision with making impractical ambush attack more practical etc. are not even buffs, these are how these killers should have been in the first place, and I say this as a survivor main.

I am pretty sure they trust their stats but stats can be so deceptive, I kinda lost hope tbh.

Yeah, I was around for Clown's launch. Surprisingly, after the PTB, he was mid tier. This was because he didn't slow down as much from throwing a bottle as he does now. His gas also lasted longer at base. I'm not entirely sure when the shadownerf happened, but it happened sometime after 2.1.2, and that is when Clown became more or less a joke.

Edit: his MS while holding a bottle in PTB was 110. And yeah, I agree that they have made killers way too reliant on add-ons when they should focus on making the base kits strong, then have add-ons compliment them, not make them considerably stronger.

  • @Delfador said:

    lmao

I agree, his power is really really lacking and tbh, they need to do something about it.

The problem is that I am pretty sure he is really good against your average survivors since they tend to make many mistakes but when it comes to above average survivors, it feels like he doesn't have a power if you don't run any addons.

I know it is going to come as bullshit for many people but I really want them to take a look at the matches where the clowns use readhead's pinky finger (addon that makes you exposed). Is that addon really that powerful to be not base kit?

We can go and buff him in traditional way by making the effect last longer with higher slow rates but it is a really boring approach and doesn't make him more difficult and rewarding to play as if you are good.

The thing for me is he slows himself down so much when he throws a bottle and his bottle doesn't slow survivors down for long enough at base. Both an Ether add-on and a Feather add-on feel required.

Also his power is countered hard by camping pallets. Though this counter would be fine with me if there weren't so many pallets on each map as well as if there was a second objective

  • @VexTheHex said:

I'm scared to edit since it seems to send the forums into a spazz from the past times I tried., so I'll add the idiocy bred by bias in asymmetrical balanced games. You got all the super, thick skulled "mains" who think they're side is the poor little victim 99% of the time and spout nonsense. Since DBD is 4 v 1, of course the 1 side is more likely to run to vent elsewhere since the 4 can vent to each other. Meanwhile all the 1's build up here and become a salty, bias mess.

If my stance was literally anything for Killers, like a jetpack for Hag... it'd be a bunch of praise and celebration. Since I posted per favor of Survivors, it's best to resort to insults and putting words into the other's person's mouth as mob mentality builds. And by no means do I think Survivor mains are any better, it's just the Killer mains are the ones who frequent here.

This shows you really don't even try to emphasize with killer mains who actually have balance concerns and just want the game to be as close to balanced as possible. Most of us come here to talk about actual issues that need further discussion and addressing and you write us off as "super, thick skulled 'mains'.....who spout nonsense". How in the hell are we supposed to take you seriously when you say something like this? It completely devalues your argument and credibility when you stop using actual arguments and resort to personal attacks.

Also "if my stance was literally anything for killers, like a jetpack for Hag...it'd be a bunch of praise and celebration." This is simply false. Ask any killer main who doesn't just spout the nonsense of "looping is an exploit derp" (and trust me, most of us aren't shouting that nonsense), and if you even try to talk about buffing Nurse, they'll tell you you're dumb. Why? Because they all know already that base Nurse is the closest thing to a balanced killer in this game, and she starts becoming broken with specific add-ons. Even Marth, who a lot of people see as "an entitled sweaty killer whose experiments mean nothing", has said repeatedly that if you lose with 5-blink Nurse, you suck. Killer mains can realize when something would be too strong. I have no clue where you got that idea from.

  • Honestly, survivor is so boring now. It's too easy to bully killers with a half-decent squad. You can only quad Add and quad MoM so much until you get bored

  • @Karl_Childers said:

Stuff like this thread is a perfect example why this forum gets mocked as being extremely killer sided BS. So let’s say someone gets hooked in the basement with multiple gens left, not even the EGC. Someone goes to make a save and the killer returns to block the stairs, bringing the game to a standstill to ensure their 2 kills. On what planet is this quality gameplay?!

If they are blocking the basement, then get the gens done and move on. EGC will prevent a hostage situation and people will still move on from the game with BP at the very least. While it isn't fun by any means, it is the killer's choice to play like this and isn't really holding the game hostage if there is a chance that the game can still end.

  • @Theluckyboi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/444567#Comment_444567

Why should i get punished for my altruism? Unhooking is one of the core aspects of the game

this is basically the same as the pig crouching trap basement exploit, both survivors are left with no chance of escaping for 3 minutes, are you people really supporting these kind of scummy tactics?

Your core objective is to SURVIVE. If someone gets caught at the end, that sucks for them. You need to be smart and realize when you all can escape or when sacrifices have to be made to get everyone else out.

  • @Theluckyboi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/443110#Comment_443110

Thats freaking stupid, the collapse will make hostage situations even worse, a killer can now bodyblock a basement with 2 players and wait until the timer of the end game collapse ends so that he gets those BP

Why are you going for basement saves during EGC? Just leave, you risk just giving the killer more kills
