  • Sincerely, I think that devs will do another Legion and gut her power and give her 115% speed.

Doesn't survivor dcing already show the problem?

People don't want to play against her, because she isn't enjoyable to go against (for many people).

You aren't the only that can have fun in the game you know.

Survivors shouldn't be rewarded for DCing. Just today I saw 2 people DCing against Billy, 2 DCing against Ghost Face, 1 DCing against nerfed Nurse and 1 DCing against Plague.

Like, all these killers now need nerfs because survivors are DCing agaisnt them ?

I know a certain streamer who thinks billy is on (Old) Nurses level! And that he needs a nerf immediately 😂😂

Yeah, I know that streamer too. And he even reports every Billy he plays agaisnt and writes "nerf Hillbilly".

Yeah way back on her release she was considered #3 after Nurse and Billy but more killers have been released that took her spot. Myers was also considered top tier at one point but now he is mid tier at best.

I still don’t think Huntress is bad. She’s high mid tier. Her, Demogorgon, Plague, and Freddy all have different strengths that I don’t believe outweigh each other so I wouldn’t disagree with anybody putting any one of them at #5. Personally I just think Huntress can do more, that is if she gets a map that isn’t terrible for her :/

    1. Nurse
    2. Spirit
    3. Hag
    4. Billy
    5. Huntress
    6. Plague
    7. Demogorgon
    8. Freddy

    Just my personal opinion.

I know she is very deadly when she gets a decent map, but just very few maps are actually decent for her, so that's why I don't think she is worth of top 5 anymore.

Ok, i'm not gonna try and convince you 2 years after her release of why she was a top 3 killer on pc, before spirit and hag.

I knew she was very good then. But she started to fall in the tier lists after that, mainly because of the new maps which all hinder her a lot

  • Stridor counters IW.

Alright if you think so. I'm not scared at all against any of these killers. Loop the M1 killer, gg. Huntress can be ######### scary, depending on their skill. And everyone gets rekt by good survivor who just power gens or if you land on Haddonfield. Losing games occassionally depends more on the survivors. I dont praise her, i just share my experience as and against her. She HAS a fighting chance against good swf groups, like i said, all you need is a good start and landing some good hatchets can take care of that. Where as M1 killers are the usual business.

Can't relate to you, that hatchets are unusable on some loops. Apart from infinites, her hatchets are usable on almost every loop. Low loops are free hits, but even high ones force a mindgame atleast. Na man, huntress is toptier easily imo

She isn't scary on any non Autohaven map, she is actually a joke on most of them. Every good Huntress player doesn't seem to stand even a chance agaisnt good SWF teams, even Scott and Umbra get rekt before they can do anything agaisnt them. And they also DC on Haddonfield, Lery's, The Game, etc. And if you need to DC on a certain map because a killer can't stand a chance there, then that killer isn't top tier IMO.

  • I am pretty sure that you can use Styptic Agent just when you are injured, so exposed perks or abilities can still counter it if you are healthy. But it's buffed against Plague or if you use No Mither together with it.

  • Almost nobody thinks she is bad. But at least half of her add-ons are still not worth using.

  • I agree, some maps should be made smaller ( Red Forest, Rotten Fields, Mount Ormond ) and some loops should be fixed ( like the ones from Ironworks of Misery, Groaning Storehouse, Wretched Shop, Rancid Abbatoir, Fractured Cowshed, Torment Creek, Disturbed Ward, Grim Pantry ).

  • Make her move grass ( but not corn, so she isn't useless on Farm maps ) and nerf/rework Prayer Beads, Wakizashi Saya and the charge time add-ons. Idk about collision, I don't want Spirit to be completely helpless against Iron Will users without Stridor, plus, removing collision might buff her in other aspects.

Okay, then we're definetely not on the same boat. Do you play on PC or console?

Plague is literally a wannabe Huntress, that gets her huntress status denied.

Demogorgon is a worse Billy and Freddy is a good basic killer, but basic nonetheless.

They dont have huntress ranged attack, she plays a different game and that game can break the best survivors. Thats why i consider her toptier. Although she is harder overall than Spirit and Nurse, she is not in the same league as the other killers.

LOL Huntress breaks the game for the best survivors, don't make me laugh. The best survivors will make her a helpless 110% M1 killer for the most part, even 2000 hours Huntress mains like Scott Jund or Umbra get rekt as Huntress when they get a decent survivor team or just a bad map and even they don't think that Huntress is worth of top 3, so stop praising her so much.

Freddy can slow the down a lot more than Huntress can, he has a much better map pressure than her and his chase potential is also very good, plus, he has a much better perk synergy than Huntress has.

Plague can also slow the game down a lot with specific builds and force survivors to cleanse, if they still don't cleanse, she can just use an Apple ( yellow and green add-ons, really not hard to get ). She has a much better tracking than Huntress and she also counters a lot of the survivors perks.

Demogorgon has better map pressure and also a very good chase potential. Yeah, his Shred is useless at certain loops, but that's literally the case with Huntress hatchet, however, Demo is 115% speed killer, while Huntress is 110% speed, so Huntress suffers more because of these than Demo.

  • @Weederick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/804854#Comment_804854

Billy also has to abandon chase at infinites. Hag gets hardcountered by swf and flashlights. They have weaknesses, but their capabilities are still way superior. Huntress is really good, but more hit-or-miss. Apart from nurse and spirit, i think she's the 3rd strongest killer against the best teams.

Dont you think that it is just fair, that you should lose perkless, addonless against great survivor swfs? Every killer loses to good survivors genrushing. Why SHOULD nurse be the exception?

I highly disagree with Huntress being 3rd best, she is very mediocre for the most part and I would take Freddy, Plague or Demogorgon over her against good teams, especially if I would know that I'm not gonna get Blood Lodge. On so many maps you can make her a 110% speed M1 killer or even make her DC, it's insane. And you're wrong, any other killer can catch up to survivors at these loops, but Huntress can't, that's why these are infinites only for her and not for anyone else.

Now please show me where I said that it's unfair for killers to lose perkless and addonless against good teams, I wait.

if good SWF can beat her before or now this means they got more skill than nurse players, she's the power role in the game so if you can't kill with her, u shouldn't play her at all

This even isn't related to what we discussed before.

Spirit lacks map pressure. Huntress sucks at map pressure with a much weaker chase. Yet both are toptier, you only need one or the other, not both.

Nurse mains are just spoiled from her previous godlike status. All you're describing are normal killer problems. Welcome to dbd

Sincerely, I highly doubt that Huntress is top tier anymore. Literally half of the maps have an infinite for her and with abandoning chases being the only "counter" to said infinites says everything about how "great" Huntress is.

Yes, Spirit lacks map pressure without add-ons, but I never brought her into discussion.

I already said that I still consider Nurse top tier. I only said that I don't see her or any other killer capable of winning agaisnt a good survivor team without perks or add-ons. So you clealry misunderstood me.

that's why perks and addon's exist you imagine playing without perks/addons and stomp everyone so how powerful you would be playing with it, she's has stuff in the game so use it

You said that she still can win against a good SWF team without perks or add-ons. And I said that you are wrong and she couldn't do that even before. I never said to not use perks or add-ons on her or on anybody else.

  • It doesn't matter how good you are on her, when new Nurse lacks map pressure without add-ons, while 1 survivor can do a gen in 80 seconds without great skill checks, perks or Toolboxes. Even if she end chases very fast, if she doesn't have stall perks, survivors will just gonna smash gens and win simple as that. And without tracking perks, she's also gonna waste time trying to look for survivors.

Even before she wouldn't won agaisnt a good SWF team without perks/add-ons, but now definitely no.

  • Tbh, stalking Ghost Face always seemed ineffective to me and even the add-ons related to it, aka increasing stalk speed or increasing the exposed duration, are trash, while stealth/anti healing Ghost Face actually seems decent and the power recovery add-ons are also very good.

typical nurse player who could only play with extra blinks or omega, pathetic, base nurse before was fine and now with addons she's better, than her base before, she's like rest killer's now, she need's addons to be more viable or still like I before said if u're master nurse lvl 9000 you can stomp SWF with no perks/addons still

No, you can't. They will just rush gens before you can do anything if you don't have stall perks.

I never said it was 100% foolproof. I said it WASN’T foolproof nor should it be.

”This line of thinking is an indictment to our community”.

We all have varying opinions my dude. No need to chastise others for how they think. I don’t know where you got idea that I believe survivors should dictate how long they can run a killer around because I never said that. You're twisting words into your favor

It should be survivor skill vs killer skill. However with Nurse and Spirit, survivor skill means little to none. It is “How good is the Nurse” or “Can the Spirit hear me”. Your skill as a survivor doesn’t mean much unless you’re running certain perks. You can’t mindgame those two killers.

People who can play against a Nurse will eventually go down either way. Pretty soon as a matter of fact. A good Nurse can just dominate and end chases super quickly.

I can play against a Nurse but a lot of the times she predicts right and I get downed. It’s all apart of her gameplay. If she predicts right then you are dead. Especially against a good Nurse.

It's not like all Nurses are Nostradamus, they are not gonna predict you every single time unless you are very predictable. Maps with lots of LOS breakers like Lery's, Hawkins or Family Residence can be a pain in the ass even for very experienced Nurses. Same with big maps, they got even worse for her now that she has a cooldown on her blinks. Her map pressure got hurt more than her chase potential by these changes.

  • My fix to Mori : you need to hook all 4 survivors before being able to mori anyone. Makes Moris fair, but not worthless.

  • Stay away from Prayer Beads Spirit and Iri Head Huntress, survivors will DC against those. 2-3 stall perks with Agitation + maybe Iron Grasp should be a really good build for the event.

  • If you think Spirit's base kit is fine, then why would you want to add more ways to tell when she's phasing, because that would be a nerf to her base kit IMO.

But I mean, let's look at the roster of undetectable killers here:

    -waith

    -freddy(?)

    -pig (only while crouching)

    -demogorgan (briefly after dimension traveling)

    -myers (only in EW1)

-Ghostface (who can be pulled out of undetectable from the person on the hook)

Freddy is Oblivious, not Undetectable. Oblivious just makes survivors unable to hear the TR or be affected by TR based perks, but survivors can still detect him with aura reading perks.

  • @ScottJund said:

I didn't say she needed more nerfs. She's still the strongest, but no longer "what the ######### is happening" strong, just "damn she strong,"

I specifically said you were calling for more nerfs ? No, I just said there will still be people who will ask for more nerfs.

  • I would be happy if they would buff some killers and fix some maps before nerfing her. They were constantly nerfing mid tier killers like Pig and Myers, but they still didn't fix some broken loops like the main buildings from Wretched Shop, Ironworks of Misery, Disturbed Ward, etc.

EDIT But back to the topic, her base kit is fine, some of her add-ons make her too strong in my opinion.

  • Oh and I forgot, some people and streamers will still keep calling her " by far the best killer in the game", so I still expect complains towards her and people asking for further nerfs.

  • The description from Kindred is outdated from Halloween Chapter, so yes, Kindred gets countered by Undetectable.

  • Some people and even streamers still say that she is by far the best killer in the game and that she needs further nerfs, so I don't even think that people will entirely stop complaining about her even after these changes.

But I still think that she is top tier. I mean, about what killers you could say that are better than her nerfed version ? Spirit probably, but she's getting changes soon too. Billy is very questionable even with his best add-ons ( which also are gonna get changes soon ). Hag could be, but very few people play her at her full potential, plus Object of Obsession is still a very big deal for her ( but you will probably barely see people using that perk now with Undetectable status effect being in play ). Freddy ... I just don't see him being that good.

  • Some people praise Spine Chill so much, that the forums would explode if it would ever get nerfed.

This whole Undetectable thing was just a excuse to indirectly nerf Object of Obsession, because they couldn't think at a better solution to fix that perk.

  • @Chaotic_Riddle said:

Probably because the Devs are worried that entitled Survivor mains would whine and complain if Killers like Ghostface and Myers could just stare at them without getting a warning.

How can you look around in maps with no los? Like the maps I mentioned? It gives survs no info while the Killer literally was wallhacks all game. Who cares if you're slower when you can gen grab and get free hits

Myers breathing is very loud. You can still see him coming around a corner before he grabs you. And then you can loop him incredibly easily. Scratched Mirror was far from being OP even on maps it could work on ( because of 90% of the maps this build is useless ).

  • @Chewy102 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/802132#Comment_802132

36m detection range is nothing to sniff at. A standard terror radius is 32m, but you can not really hear it till closer to 20-25m. That right there is one hell of an amount of information. Not only do you know roughly how close the Killer is by the terror radius, you know if he is coming directly towards you or not by SC. And it works against both large and small terror radius builds!

Against standard Killers you know if you are a target or not. Against stealth Killers you know when to GTFO or be on guard or not when there isn't a terror radius to warn you. Against loud Killers you know if you are a target or not even there is too much of a terror radius attempting to confuse you.

Spine Chill simply works very well against all Killers. Nurse, you know she is gonna blink on you. Billy, you know he is coming directly at you. Shape, you know you are feeding him. Ghost, you know you are being marked. Pig, you know she is setting up an ambush. Wraith, Trapper, Hag, Huntress, Spine Chill works against EVERY SINGLE KILLER in the game!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/802069#Comment_802069

Na. I don't know what the exact rules are for Spine Chill, but it's safe to say that it follows other line of sight rules. The very edges of the Killers screen do not count for line of sight. Top, bottom, left, or right.

Next time you play Shape or Ghost pay attention to when you can or can't stalk someone based on where they are on your screen. If you don't own those Killers, take notice where the Survivor is on screen when a chase starts. You can't stalk or get into a chase with someone if they are on the edges of your screen. Think about a moon walking Legion. Some just walked backwards, but others walked sideways or looked very high/low. It's the same effect.

By keeping the Survivor in the very edges of their screen, the Legion prevented from getting into a chase with them. Those same rules should apply to Spine Chill. It's a rather small area, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

But you don't need Spine Chill to do all the stuff you mentioned if you simply have awareness. Stealth killers like Myers already have a very loud breathing, I never needed SC to tell when he's coming. I also never needed SC to tell when a Billy is coming with his chainsaw or when a Nurse is gonna blink towards me. And I played with Spine Chill pretty often, but I could all these stuff even without it.

  • People really think that Spine Chill counters every killer ? People need to stop overrating and praising that perk so much.

  • For me, Myers was mid tier before and he still remains mid tier even after this nerf. Spine Chill is overrated and Premonition is straight up garbage, so it's not like you're gonna see a lot of survivors using these perks. You are still gonna see Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, Borrowed Time and Adrenaline for the most part in the survivor builds.

    "object of obsession is broken"

The thread was just thinking that their inability to see stealth killers with it meant the perk was broken. But I've seen a few more and I'm scared it's gonna become an actual trend

    "stealth killers are broken..."

(can't remeber the thread name) was basicly saying stealth killers are too easy to play and are bad for the game etc

I mean, they already nerfed Pig and Myers without nobody complaining about them and yet I still don't see people complaining about them.

  • There was 1 single thread claiming that Wraith was too strong and that was most likely a troll. I didn't see anyone else complaining about Wraith or an other stealth killer being too strong.

  • You still stalk as Ghost Face ? New meta on him is just to use his stealth to juggle survivors with anti healing perks from what I saw. But SWF teams can still easily destroy him, especially on big and open maps.

  • @OmegaXII said:

Wow, every build includes PGTW.. i guess i'll buy clown the next time i earned 9k shards..

Well, it's a very, very good perk on Freddy. You can make great use out of it with his gen teleport.

  • After nerfing Pig 3 times in the last year, they nerfed Myers. It seems like devs can't resist to not nerf mid tier killers LMAO.

  • Ruin, Barbecue and Chilli, Pop Goes the Weasel and Surveillance.

Ruin/Pop Goes the Weasel, Barbecue and Chilli, Enduring and Spirit Fury ( but this works better with snares than with fake pallets ).

Ruin/Pop Goes the Weasel, Sloppy Butcher, Thanatophobia and Dying Light with Swing Chains and Jump Rope ( but survivors will hate you if you run this + it gets soft countered by the new medkits ).

  • Devs just announced some changes are coming to her. And people want to play her untill that happens. So bad luck for you and everyone who hates playing agaisnt Spirit I guess.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

In Order to balance the game, Nurse and Spirit needs to get Nerfs. Nurse already got her Rework (but will still be the best Killer, so not sure how much that helped), Spirit will get it in the future (but they need to be more careful with her, it is easier to destroy her).

Because you cannot balance a game around Nurse. This is simply not possible, old Nurse was broken. Faced a Nurse with only BBQ, she got a 4K with 2 Gens left. Prime example why also her Basekit was not fine.

But what you said about Pallets - ignore the number of Badham Pallets. They are all unsafe (at least outside of the Buildings), so there can be a shitload of them. They are just to generate a Stun and get the Distance, if a Survivors stays at the Pallet, he will get hit. Same with Hawkins, this Map has like 2 really safe Pallets, the rest is highly unsafe (personally, Spirit Fury and Bloodlust are two things which need to go on those two Realms...).

So yeah, I would see those Reworks as part of a bigger picture. Surely all Killers should be viable at Red Ranks, but there is no way to make a Clown as viable as Spirit, with the current Kit.

I saw killers winning with old Freddy and Clown in high ranks without using perks or add-ons. This proves that their kit was/is unbalanced as well ?

  • I would be fine if her phasing was made weaker and/or got more counter play and the cooldown on her power got reduced, so she is able to use her new weaker phase more often ( so instead of an outright nerf, it would be a sidegrade to make her more enjoyable to play against, why still keeping her a strong killer ).

But because she is "overperforming", I expect unnecessary nerfs ( like what happened to Legion ). After that, they probably gonna "look at" Billy ( they already announced that an add-on rework is coming relatively soon from him ) and Freddy ( because apparently he is overperforming as well ).

  • @Mochan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/798392#Comment_798392

Absolutely. You see, the problem with BBQ isn't that it doesn't have counters. It's that it's ubiquity utterly kills the stealth paradigm.

When something becomes meta, that's a sign that it needs a change. Even though BBQ is meta not because of its Aura Reading but because of its BP Gains, the fact is 90% of killers run it (I made that stat up but I don't think it's too far off the mark), so that means that 90% of killers everywhere have the ability to see where you are whenever they hook someone.

That is just bad for the game, because it utterly destroys stealth play.

It is the ubiquity and prevalance of BBQ that is the problem.

Keys aren't a problem in this way because they aren't everywhere. People who run around using plunderers like me are extremely rare. In fact I'd bet a lot of killers would be happy to see more survivors running Plunderers instead of DS, BT, Adrenaline and Dead Hard. They are also rare in the bloodweb so you aren't going to go into every match expecting a key.

Whereas right now you go into every match expecting the killer to pack BBQ.

"When something becomes meta, that's a sign it needs a change", ok, were are the changes to DS, DH, BT and Adrenaline then ?

  • Maybe it's a bug from the new patch. I heard that Hag was shadow nerfed too and apparently she can't move for a few seconds after she teleported to a trap ( pretty much like the old Hag ).

  • @Rezblaze said:

If BHVR insists on the Nurse changes, they HAVE to increase her base speed to keep up with survivors.

As it stands, being slower than survivors is no good. The fatigue and the forced wait assure that chases go on longer then they should.

I'm pretty sure someone tested this; if you run in a straight line, and get hit by the Nurse, she CANNOT catch up at 90% speed. Before, she was entirely reliant on blinks. But now that she can't rely solely on blinks for mobility, she needs a boost to keep up with survivors.

If she's as fast as Huntress or even Hag, that'd be fine.

Huntress and Hag have the same speed.

1 … 13 14 15 16 17 … 36
