The goal is to spend at least 200k before a match starts in case of streamers.

That seems a bit excessive, and i don't run into full streamers parties often enough to really justify this anyway.

  • I like the idea. Both for the killer rewarding a survivor (or more than one) for a good game and for the survivors to reward the killer, too.

Or heck just a decay over time reputation thing.. (people love boasting their ranks, so even without bloodpoints associated with the thing just making reputation a thing would make people want to behave.. But only positive reputation, as mentioned, negative one would only make toxic people want to be even more toxic)

  • @Rasinbran said:

But when you buy a perk that thing shows up and takes the one you didn't.

So I like to buy up to the perk I want then buy other stuff until that thing shows up. I don't mind the time at all, I use the time sitting in lobby in queue and in the lobby.

Same. Unless I farmed a million points before prestige, there's usually enough time to spend them between matches.

  • There is no reason for the first perk to also have dance with me incorporated into it. Also someone made a similar suggestion but for stuns, but I guess both could be separate since a blind isn't a stun.

Not sure how the second one would work against killers whose entire powers are based on status effects (plague, legion, myers, ghostface, Freddy) but I like the general idea

I like the terror radius one, only problem is when you leave it, it's very faint.. So would it remain faint for that duration or blast at full volume?

And while I like the idea of kicking a completed generator that would be a bit overpowered and basically require survivors to do 6 generators.. Big no on that one.

WHOA! Are you suggesting a survivor ADAPTS!?

That's a killer move NOT a survivor move!

Oh God, you're right! I forgot all about that chapter from the survivor's handbook for killers! Never mind anything I said, please lock the doctor until this is fixed! This is the only option!

Ok then disable DS since that's the root of the problem, don't want give people a false sense of hope with their 2nd chance perks.

Any killer that starts lunging at the same time or "slower" than you dead harding will probably hit you. Although it's a very small window

This. If they know you gave it or expect you to have it all they have to do is wait for you to use it before lunging (usually doesn't take long for someone to use it if you get too close for comfort, so waiting a bit before lunging prevents the lunge exhaustion)

  • @Atrushan88 said:

Could just make it automatic. "If survivor doesn't have borrowed time and killer is camping, survivor automatically kicks rescuer off them". This would reinforce the idea that survivors need to just rush through gens as quickly as possible while the killer sits there revving his chainsaw, standing there cloaked, hiding behind a tree, etc right near the hooked survivor. Maybe then less killers would camp.

Definite no. This will make killers camp even more since it'll be easy sacrifices. Your idea would prevent groups of two (or all three) from going for a rescue, one doing the unhook while the rest bodyblock or act as a distraction.

  • @emptyCups said:

If a survivors is inside the exit zone... while the gates are open it should expose them.

    Also

I want to be able to close the exit gates and if done on a survivor still inside i want the auto sacrifice.

Anyone who complains honestly should have walked out.

And listen I get that other survivors need to leave and might get stuck by the second gate. But a reopen could be a 1 or 2 second tap if you need.

But I'm tired tired tired of flashlight clicks and butt dancing until that painfully slow endgame timer hits the last second.

Even when I'm wraith literally hiding the entire match and I open the gates for them and run away they still wait till the final second to leave. It's insane how many people stay for 0 reason. I understand if someone's on a hook and you want that last save attempted but that's rare for me as killer. And I honestly camp the last person during endgame collapse anyway because there nothing else I can do.

The sarcasm is strong in this one ;p

While greatly annoying the team based actions like this are part of the reason survivors are OP

And I'd rather keep the teamwork aspects like this a focus along with 3rd vs 1st person perspective to stop people from continuing to request killer nerfs they dont need.

If you feel like they are gonna get off, Drop them. Someone will come for them or they can sit for a bit either way never let yourself be stunned by struggle. Anti heal builds work best for autistic survivors like this, thana or sloppy to really punish how much getting in the way will cost them

This. If I see too many survivors trying to bodyblock to make me lose my grip on the survivor I'm carrying, I'll just drop them and give chase. Sure, someone will probably heal them back up, but at least I'm chasing someone now, instead of everyone running away and me not having a headstart on them because of the stun.

By all mean Mr big brain, please tell me how Hangman's Trick can possibly, in any god forsaken way can help you find survivors? Before you say i see them sabo'ing my hooks don't lie, no one actually breaks hooks (maybe it helped you find that one survivor with a hook break daily but i call bs about it being remotely useful for consistently finding people).

You'd be surprised at how many games someone tries to sabotage hooks. But hey, I'm the one running the perk, not you, and if I feel it helps me, then there's nothing you can do to change my mind.

It's probably quite useful at the moment, since most matches have at least one person working on sabotaging hooks for the Tome challenge.

And there's this, too. I started running it before the new Tome came out, but it was a bit in preparation for the sabotage challenge.. at first I would only put it on if I saw toolboxes in the lobby, and use something else otherwise, but screw that, the auto-repair on full sacrifice also allows me to re-use the same hook for more than one survivor. Record is 3 sacrifices on the same hook.

  • Borrowed Time working as intended, not much they're going to change about that, it's a viable tactic and they're taking full advantage of it.

  • It's not a bug, the sound is intended to be heard from across the map.

  • @CardClasher said:

BBQ got 8 or more counters lmao

Apparently 8 isn't enough for some people.

  • Longer answer: Nooooo.

It's not an exploit, it's part of the game to give survivors a chance of wiggling off. There's even distraction and protection hit scores associated to it.

Exactly. I never used Ruin except when I was getting Adept Hag and the Evil Incarnate achievements. I've never run the Enduring + SF build. I have become very attached to Whispers, because damn it's so useful to know when you're in a dead area of the map; you don't even have to finish walking to that generator to know no one's on it.

Sometimes I see a streamer use a build and it's like, "That looks like fun." But I'm more likely to do that on survivors than killers. I think the only streamer build I've used for killer is Doc's impossible skill checks one, with Distressing, Disturbing Presence, Overcharge, and Lullaby, and I think that was when I got four Claudettes in my lobby... I've never seen survivors so quickly start memeing and trying to get on the killer's good side (I took pity and farmed with them... but I waited a while before I showed them where the Hex totem was lol). Since Doc's update, I've been using that same build but with Whispers instead of Lullaby, because it pairs so well with his Shock Blast it's disgusting.

I want to play my own way and not the way someone else plays. DbD has pretty much no structure, so every killer can have their own personality and playstyle; there's no reason to limit yourself.

Exactly. It always surprises survivors to find out my Pig has Third Seal, or that my Huntress has Spies from the Shadows and Hangman's Trick ;)

And Whispers is definitely good on new Doctor, with the blast covering up Whisper's area.. so if no one screams, they either have Calm Spirit, or are hiding in a locker.

If they made a new perk that boosted Brutality points, I'd probably try switching out Beast of Prey for it, because you're right, chase points are pretty easy to max. But, when I get annoyed and murder a group of survivors, it makes me happy that they'll get to the end screen and see it wasn't some OP build that did them in... it was a killer running a BP build with no add-ons that kicked their [BAD WORD] in. lol

    Haha true ;)

I'm not a big fan of the meta perks everyone and their mom runs.. I run builds I want to run, not because some streamer uses the perks, but because I think they suit my gameplay style.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1033554#Comment_1033554

I've been running a BP build for a long time, now: Beast of Prey, Distressing, BBQ, and Whispers. Beast of Prey until recently was damn near useless, and Distressing is still a hindrance on most killers. I would run whatever perk gave me a multiplier for hooking survivors, whether or not its other effect was useful. I wouldn't be happy about it, but I'd do it, because BP.

I still wish they'd added a 50% boost to Brutality on Beast of Prey instead of giving it the Undetectable effect, but whatever. I feel bad dragging out some matches 20 minutes just to max out Brutality when I'm not killing survivors, but there's no perk to help me so it's what I gotta do.

I used to run Beast of Prey on my Huntress, but honestly, I max out chase points easy enough without it that I traded it for something else. (yes, I'm aware, Huntress isn't meant for chases, probably why they gave her a perk that boosts points in the hunting category, but sometimes when they go around obstacles to block your line of sight, you don't have the choice)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/33045/survivors-not-leaving-after-gates-are-open-should-be-instant-down

The idea is good, but the suggestions are OP for killers. Maybe, while inside the exit gates the survivors can be instadowned, and if the killer is also in the exit area, that exit is blocked.

    No, and no.

Hex: No One Escapes Death and Blood Warden both exist for that reason. No need to make them base kit to make killers more powerful than they need to be. If someone's hanging around the exit gate, chase them out, don't leave them in there without making sure they leave first, it's your own fault if they come back to torment you later on if others are still sticking around for one reason or another (wether to save someone on hook or to be dicks, honestly the reason doesn't matter)

  • @TragicSolitude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1033515#Comment_1033515

... you are focusing on one very specific part of what I said. I said that's one reason. The more important reason is because it gets killers to not camp the hook.

Camping and tunneling are two of the biggest survivor complaints about this game. I find it extremely unfun when a killer camps the hook. I would much rather they not tunnel and camp; the game is more fun for survivors that way. Tunneling and camping is the easiest way to play killer, though, so if you don't want killers to do it, you need to give them a good reason not to. Auras and bonus BP are good reasons.

Finding new targets to go after definitely is a good reason for me to leave the hook instead of looking around to see if anyone's nearby. But hey, if they rather get camped.. I mean, I have nothing against it, but they better not complain about it afterwards, it's what they wanted!

  • @emptyCups said:

Your being attacked because your asking for tools to be removed from the opposing team but not yourself.

If this was Cod you would ask to take away shotguns

If this was battlefield you would take away tanks

Bbq and chili is a bloodpoint bonus detection perk ment to encourage players not to camp.

If you take that way you half personally my bloodpoints. As well as every other killers points. A hex doesnt last past first hook you might as well remove it.

Your main discussion is complaint how other people play. Almost every post is how other people play or how other survivors hinder you.

Your main non whinging is being aura revield despite having 12 ways to counter and at least 6other perks that do the same if not better.

Your not asking for anything to work differently you want a nerf. That's why your an entitled survivor that most people called bait.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!

  • Why would you need to get rid of it so badly, when it already has many counters to it, as was told to you many times. Your problem is the fact that others aren't up to par with your standards of how good survivors should be. It sounds more like a you problem.

  • A small change I'd make for that. Make opening the hatch with the key require a difficult skillcheck, same as Overcharge or Decisive Strike. If you fail, your key breaks, or something.

  • So when you do it, it's a discussion, but when others do it, it's bitching? Got it!

Sarcasm aside, practice makes perfect, and playing against better people than you also helps get better, I know I enjoy playing against good survivors because it keeps me on my toes and helps me practice how to counter them, rather than killing potatoes.

  • I agree. I hadn't noticed in Tome 1, but it was glaring in Tome 2 since all survivor challenges were on top and killer ones at the bottom.. I don't mind playing both sides, but seriously, give killer only/mains something to work with.

I mean, they're easy enough to do, but it sucks when there's way more survivor-sided content. Just finished the whole thing, glad I can switch back to killing. I like playing both sides and I guess it's my own fault for wanting to complete it too fast, but I rather get rid of it early on and then play as I want without any requirements for challenges.

  • What emptyCups said.. play with other people. The people I play most regularly with are people I met while playing the game (killing them, ironically) and honestly it's way more fun than on your own.

Join the Dead by Daylight discord and check out the looking for group channel if you don't know anyone or don't want to start making friends with people at the end of the game.

Been on this forum for a day and lets just say Surv mains moan alot.

I main both Surv + Killer and i'm red ranks in both.

    So i'm fairly experienced

Currently playing Surv is extremely boring and easy. This game clearly favours surv at the moment.

I mean the recent update blog just proves it, how the DEVS just nerfed ruin because you baby surv's can't do skill checks.

Not being funny if you can't find a locker near a GEN when there's normally tons and actually hide in it when you can see the killer pick up the downed SURV WITH NO PERKS. (unless they run knockout) then seriously go watch a tutorial on how to play or something.

Can we stop nerfing killers and actually make them stand a chance against all of the broken surv perks.

And even if they run knockout, it's easy to see if they've been picked or not.. their health bar will start glowing to show the bleeding process has been paused, so either they've been picked up or someone's healing them.

  • What I would like is a "bleed out" button to speed up the bleeding process when you're being slugged at the end of the game and the killer just stands there staring at you waiting for you to die.

  • @Jimbobads said:

So why should high tier players be punished because lower tier don't know the mechanics of the game?

I'm sorry but every game you learn from with experience and practice.

When you actually get "High tier" And everything is nerfed and based around how a "Low tier" player would play the game would be EXTREMELY boring.

And honestly right now survivor is so damn easy at red ranks it's actually boring and i've moved on to playing more killer games (Which are god damn difficult)

Also you blame your team mates who don't know the mechanic for revealing your location to the killer... how is this even possible? If their out in the open panicking and your in a locker why are you being found?

Run Kindred so you know which direction the killers running once they've hooked someone.

Actually sick and tired of low rank players moaning about easy mechanics that ruin the game for high rank players. (COUGH RUIN)

    Amen

MY KEYBOARD IS GONNA STAY BROKE, LOL. 🀣🀣🀣 FYI: I EQUALLY PLAY BOTH KILLER AND SURVIVOR. THE KILLER SPEEDS β€œWERE” FINE (ASIDE FROM LAGGING), BUT THEY DEFINITELY AREN'T NOW, YOU EITHER HAVEN’T NOTICED OR PLAY THE KILLER ONLY πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

No, I play both sides pretty much equally. Yes it sucks that killers are faster, but it's the way the game is made, if they were the same speed, then they would need to change the way the entire game works, since killers would have no way to catch up to survivors anymore.

  • Or make it similar to Spine Chill, turns on and off if you're looking the right away.

you keep assuming things about myself.

I play with 1 friend and me and him usually 95% of the time are the last two survivors cause the other survivors keep getting caught and don't know the game.

The only time I have a problem with the game is when the killer has BBQ and Chili, nothing else.

Telling me to stop playing the game or get good isn't going to help anyone.

I look up looping videos and other tips and tricks about the game I know how to counter the perk but OTHER survivors don't.

Having to change the way the game is when someone is hooked which should happen about 12 times in a match meaning the killer has 12 chances to find someone using this perk, knowing the person direction he is going, what he is doing (healing or doing a gen or cleansing a totem)

It's sad that you all need a perk that finds people so easily but you tell me to get good at the game or even stop playing, that right there is just straight toxicity.

So the only times you have problems with the game is 80% of the time since you said 8 out of 10 times, they had barbecue?

And just because you get found easily, they need to nerf the other side, and not, you know, use the many counterplays the perk you want nerfed has?

Alright then, let's nerf barbecue, and also make nurse's calling a Hex while we're at it, and oh I guess Spirit's Fury also needs to be made into a Hex, and so does Whispers, I mean it's not fair for the killer to know you're around. Oh wait, even better, let's make it a Hex that has 3/4/5 stacks, so that way after 5 times it becomes useless!

Seriously, what's with people wanting everything the other side has nerfed..

  • @Jimbobads said:

His tracking ability? What happens late game when theres blood everywhere? his tracking is pointless.

his lunge is easy to dodge hint why they changed it. I mean why should a killer struggle hitting you when they have gotten close to you? Why is 360ing an oni even a mechanic.

Why don't you actually play oni and see how hard it is to 4k against a good team instead of just complaining as surv.

And something tells me good Oni players were good Hillbilly killers in the first place, since their powers are similar-ish enough. Probably why I do terrible at Oni, I'm not a fan of Hillbilly so I never learned to play him.

  • @ABannedCat said:

You don't need grass or bushes on Lery's. The map is ridiculously dark, has alot of background noises that mask already quiet survivor noises. Right now its the best stealth map out there.

Also, there's so many rooms and corners to hide.

  • No need for grass in every single map... LΓ©ry's is fine the way it is, it's a change from the other maps where you can't see ######### and blood blends too well with the ground.

And yeah I love how they made the totems more well hidden, much less right out in the open, hope they do that to other maps too

  • Honestly, if you can only do 1 generator, sorry to tell you this but, the problem isn't barbecue..

You might need to stop taking the game too seriously if you're about to have a heart attack over it..

  • I've been playing Huntress lately, and I definitely don't run the meta build.. I have Spies from the Shadows and Hangman's Trick on her, and seriously those two perks are great at helping me find survivors.

  • @ynos556 said:

I also think bbq should be a hex. getting tired of playing with low elo people. Im rank 2(can never get to rank 1), and the MAIN issue I have are survivors getting caught and other survivors knowing what to do to counter it. Sure there are these "great methods" to counter some of these perks but what about to other new people who try to play the game. You have these new people coming in and not knowing what to do making it hard for others to play the game sufficiently. In my case, due to BBQ and Chili, someone always stays on gen when they get down(not hide in a locker) and we get ######### all game.

I feel like the game should be more newb friendly toward people who are trying to join the game. Otherwise WHY PLAY??? If the margin line of players that are only meant for people currently on the game or rather people who have a invested 2k + hrs, then why play. This game is slowly becoming dead.

Ruin is a good example becuz its been nerfed recently. Why are we working only on Killer perks? why are there no nerfs OR buffs to other perks for both killers and survivors. OoO, DS, hell even self care at this point they all need to be tweaked to match with where the game is headed. This is not happening, ace Visconti (all); like why are these people not being looked at more? can the developers not give buffs to these people to make it easy for survivors to manage there own kits while at the same time looking at killers

So nerf good perks and skills because new players don't know every single mechanic about the game? Sorry but no. When I started playing I knew nothing about those perks and add-ons and powers, but I learned the hard way by getting caught a few times too many after a hook because the killer had barbecue, and then I started reading what the perks and add-ons they had did in the after-game, and actually played both sides to learn how the different killers' powers worked.. it's one thing to know Nurse can blink or that Billy can chainsaw real fast, but knowing the mechanics behind those powers is even more important, so you can understand the powers' strengths and weaknesses.. same with perks. Knowing what this and that perk does is a good way to counter them.. such as jumping in lockers, hiding behind generators or being closer to the killer when a hook happens.

Lol literally had a match yesterday where one player ran over to me (using Bond to see me) and led the killer on his chase there; and then later, ran directly to my friend and tried to get into his locker during a chase (saw him get into the locker first) so the killer would get him instead.

Needless to say when that survivor got hooked my friend and I completely ignored him and worked on our objectives in peace. XD

I had a game where someone else tried to get into my locker multiple times in a row with the killer nearby.. Killer saw them doing it, I got grabbed but the Huntress just dropped me and chased after them.. so a bit later in the game, Huntress sees me but doesn't attack, I motion at her to follow me and point in the rando's direction, working on a generator. She made a beeline to him and ended up hooking him.. my friends and I were in discord thinking we should just let him die, but then I decided to go over to his hook and pretend to unhook, let go the mouse button half-way through the animation a few times before teabagging him and going away to let him die. He whined about it in the chat, killer defended me and told him it was his own fault haha that was great

  • @arcnkd said:

While I do agree with the general premise, I do have to ask -- have too many matches of survivors trying to get inside your locker while you're in it? Lol

Regardless, I think survivors should be able to see any other survivor in a locker when they get near that locker.

Oh god. "trying to get inside your locker while you're in it"

Just for that alone, I vote no for that idea. If you play with friends, they'll ignore your locker and move on. But there are too many toxic survivors who don't care about their teammates who'll try to jump in your locker in front of the killer on purpose just to let them know you're there. (but I guess with head on you can just stun them, but still)

  • @arcnkd said:

Actually punish DC'ers and stop with the dev's crybaby mentality of 'Don't report DC' using the in-game report. Start issuing bans for DC's like they were testing a while back; and while we're at it revamp the 'pip' system so you cannot depip under any circumstance (I think that's stupid ######### anyway given the matchmaking system doesn't care about rank lately and throws everyone together); or if you refuse to remove de-pip to avoid playing higher rank killers or lobby times then start freaking caring about consoles when they report in-game. AND let us freaking report more than one player at the end game if there are multiple DC's instead of only being able to report one (which I still do anyway because screw you devs and your lenience on DC's because you're too scared to do anything to survivors).

Became 100x worse with dedicated servers hitting console; Survivor gets downed - DC. Survivor gets hooekd but someone can;t get to them before struggle phase starts - DC; Survivor dies on hook, DC before death finishes; Don't like the map you spawned into - DC after match starts so it doesn't end the match completely. It's absolute bullshit.

I still report disconnects.. There's a bad sportsmanship option, I use it. If they're not happy about it then they can either remove the option to report players, or do something about it.

Survivors literally have several perks that ignore the stealth abilities of killers.... and yet, 'Killers have too many aura reading perks'??? Tell you what, we can put BBQ as a Hex; but let's also make things like Spine Chill, OoO, and other Survivor aura reading/detection perks unable to detect any killer using a stealth ability or mechanic -- killers like Phased Spirit, Ghostface, EW1 Myers, Freddy, Wraith, or any killer using something like Insidious.

BBQ forces Survivors to have to stop gen-rushing and make a decision -- move within a certain range of the killer to avoid detection; find a locker to hide in; or move off their current objective for a few seconds and make their way back to it. Otherwise, stay working on your generator or inching your way to the hooked survivor while your friend gets hooked and let the killer know where you are. BBQ Is a pressure perk to force Survivors out of the comfort of caring about themselves and staying away from the killer.

The problem is, most survivors from what I have seen, have an issue with anything that requires them to take time focusing on something that isn't a generator -- anything that interrupts their generator pushes will usually be complained about until the devs cave and nerf it in some shape or form because the general mentality is 'killers should have to play challenging games, but survivors should just be able to play for fun'.

Imagine when they release new objectives and they actually have to do more than generators! Oh the agony!

And what's with making every good perk a Hex?

What about making survivor totems that the killer destroys to turn off their exhaustion perks or their decisive strike or ######### like that? I mean, if it's good for one side, why not make it work both ways, right?

  • @Jimbobads said:

I don't think it would be necessary for the hatch to spawn right by the last remaining survivor if the others dc (Bare in mind the killer is also affected by this).

The players should be punished more who do this deliberately and those who are left behind should not lose any rank progression.

Thank you both for agreeing with my point so far though :)

You're right, making the hatch spawn next to the last survivor ######### the killers over even more. They're also getting unfairly punished by people disconnecting by denying them their bloodpoints/pips/fun, it would be even more unfair to have the last survivor get an auto-escape just because ######### killers.

  • Well if you they taunt you about it then it's definitely poor sportsmanship on their part but the ones that play doctor just because they enjoy playing him still shouldn't be published because of a few rotten apples..

And I do play both sides, but honestly I don't use that perk enough (read: barely ever at all) to have worked out the viable tactics such as jumping into lockers mid-chase, since the point of getting chased is not getting caught.. Getting caught on purpose is not really how I want to play the game. But I guess head on and decisive strike would make a good combo for that.. Grab me, get stabbed.. Don't grab me and stare at the locker, get lockered in the face.

I get the reasons why you want them to lock these things, it just feels unjust to punish those who legitimately want to play the game to have fun without caring about bugs such as that one. I had a doctor daily last night and it never occurred to me that one of them might have decisive strike or not, and didn't check which perks they had after the game was over because I had fun and moved on back to huntress afterwards since she's the killer I've been playing most lately, and a few survivor games to get some of the challenges done.

Uh... Yea.... , technically they aren't tunneled if the killer isn't there to down them, plus how many times does a survivor actually bring we'll make it.

    More often than you think

  • I like the way new doctor works.. I find myself trying to time his blasts and either be out of the radius or hide in a locker when it happens if I'm too close for comfort.

I would just like it if they balanced it out a little bit. Change it so when the last gen pops the adrenaline coresponds to what is happening to the survivor:

Outside of Terror radius? It'll wake them up and allow a downed survivor to recover once from the downed state to the injured state.

Inside of Terror radius? Wake them up and immediately heal them from the downed state.

In a chase? Wake up, grant endurance for 15 seconds and sprint boost of 5 seconds.

Your balance suggestions would only make it even more overpowered than it already is.

  • Wrong. Killer who never used ruin because it's a stupid perk main.

  • Sounds good. I don't mind the map since it looks super nice but it'll be good not to play that map every two games anymore.
