Red ranks kinda feels like Dark Souls sometimes, but if the NPC's could just end the game without any input from you. And without the ability to keep on trying until you've mastered that section.
So like Dark Souls but somehow more frustrating.
-
It's a solo bullying perk and nothing else. The entire Blindness effect needs reworked, and Knockout and Third Seal need it too. Solo players have no counter except find both totems (it's always paired with Undying) in the middle of a 4-person slug or randomly run across their teammates while their teammates aren't being effected by the silent bug.

The problem is tunneling fed ranks who kill survivors to quickly who don't want to play the match in the first place. If killers were banned for tunneling then gen speeds would be fine.
3 minutes is all it takes.

I like going against Plague and Blight. Huntress can be fun if there's no latency and all you have to deal with are her normal flying fridges. Oni, Billy, and Ghostface are pretty fun, too.

Zarina, Yui, Kate, Jeff, and Adam.

Legion would drain it pretty quickly too. Means having to play legion though.
Draining it isn't the problem, it's tracking. Plague can let you track via sound.

I think it's awesome and my new favourite perk and I love it and For The People.

You can hear footsteps, but besides that, as long as you're in a chase, you know the survivor is there.
"Thirdly, perks to counter perks are terrible game design and isn't even applicable in this case."
So, Remove Sloppy Butcher? It counters Botany Knowledge and Self-Care. Or remove Coup? It counters Dead Hard. Remove Blood Echo and Mindbreaker, as they counter exhaustion perks? Remove Thanatophobia and Discordance? As both clearly counter Prove Thyself. Remove any totem related perk as they counter hexes? Remove BT as it counters insidious? There are always perks to counter perks. If a certain perk becomes meta, you either get addons or perks to deal with that meta, or learn the vanilla way to deal with it. So in both cases, you're simply wrong.
Current Lucky Break is weak AF. You get 1 use out of it, 2 if you happen to bring a green medkit and the killer not having any vision on you. If the killer has any vision on you, Lucky Break is useless.
Sure, 90 seconds on 4 survivors might have been a bit much, but normally, the next step from 90 is going down to 80 or 70, not 45.
You cannot hear footsteps in a chase any more. It's a change they made over a year ago and never even mentioned it except in one loading screen slide of the 4th year anniversary celebration. The only exception is in extreme circumstances such as the concrete floors of The Game, and even then the sound occlusion messes with everything and doesn't provide accurate info.
And please learn the difference between a soft counter and hard counter. It will make your life so much easier.
-
Gen rushing is when survivors go into a trial intending to do nothing but gens, well aware that there is no counter to it. The kind of teams that spread out in gens, get the guaranteed 3 in 90, then converge on the last two with Prove Thyself often while leaving a teammate to hang. It's actually really scummy because there is a difference between simply being efficient and straight up doing nothing except generators.
The fact that survivors can be extremely efficient is a game design flaw. The fact that some people abuse this to get the gens done and escape in under 3 minutes with absolutely no input from the killer is honestly the worst thing in this game by far.

If it wasn't in the notes, it's a bug

I mean, I've played against the original. It's not that strong. Survivors need to rush a heal to get more use out of it. If you end up hooking that survivor, they would need to be unhooked ASAP AND healed up ASAP if they wanted value out of Lucky Break, because being hooked affects the timer.
You can still hear footsteps, you can still hear breathing, if they dont run iron will, you can still hear grunts of pain. If they run Iron Will with it, you can still see their aura's if they decide to heal up, which they need to, because otherwise Lucky Break loses value.
The main counter to Lucky Break+Iron Will was Nurses Calling. Yet the whiny "im-so-weak" killers dont realize they have already existing counter perks.
Firstly, you can't hear footsteps or breathing in a chase. Secondly, Iron Will is on nearly every survivor, and so far every survivor with Lucky Break. Thirdly, perks to counter perks are terrible game design and isn't even applicable in this case. Fourthly, Lucky Break, Iron Will and OoO are now my go-to meta perks.
-
I dunno, Laurie and David kept getting me hardcore tunneled whenever I tried. Not Laurie any more, though.
-
Sounds great. I'll almost never switch Legion members mid trial, but it'd be cool to see.
-
I'm so glad the whiny, "I'm-so-weak" survivor mains don't realise how ######### strong lucky break is. As it stands, I'm not playing any killers except Plague, and if it enters the rotation as a meta perk I might actually drop killer altogether.
-
A good, solid, unironic pretty good job so far.
-
Neat.
-
I'm so excited for double speed Hatchets, they look so ridiculous. It's like Spirits duration add-ons but for Huntress

Some people just want representation. Others understand that representation is a small first step that leads to normalisation.

Yes, that is a perk that exists, what of it?

It's a blind, not a burn. The legion can look away.

For what little it is worth, I care what happens to you.
Thanks. And for what it's worth, I'm not saying people don't have to deal with awful things. I get targeted by a lot of racism and I'm white. Automatically, that means no-one believes me.I'm a minority of a majority. But that doesn't mean I understand what the Asian and Polynesian people in my country deal with. We go through different things. The best I can do is sympathise, but I genuinely cannot empathise.

I got bullied for 5 years in middle school/high school for being more feminine than other guys.
Actively excluded from most activities, yes. Publicly ridiculed and mocked by both staff and peers? Yep. Had my car vandalized with some slurs I can't say? Yep. Harassed both in-person and online? Yep.
I'd like to think that I can understand a little bit what LGBTQ groups have to put up with.
Many people do not have as extreme of an experience as I do, but they know what ostrazation feels like and can empathize.
I was terrified of the very real possibility of being assaulted and murdered simple for being trans, one that has only lessened but not gone away. My height and deep voice not only carries massive social stigma and work together with my skin colour to lock me out of nearly every job I could get, but also labels me as a target for the gangs I live beside because "no-one cares what happens to a tranny."

@Pulsar said:

I don't think that's entirely true.
I think most of us have been ostracized before. We've felt the loneliness and despair associated with it. People might not be able to get it but they can understand.
It's like someone dealing with the loss of a close relative. You understand how it feels to lose someone like that, even if you don't know precisely how they feel in that situation.
Most people don't know what its like. They really, really don't. There's a difference between not being invited to the table, and being actively persecuted.

I don't know if saying people's opinions don't matter based off of their sexuality and skin color is a great idea. I see what you meant, but that doesn't sound right to me.
True. However, people have to realise that they don't understand why LGBT+ people want representation. How could they? They arent the ones ostracised.

Ah. I see. I get "special treatment" because I'm a straight white male, and the only way to change that is to force the game to have an equal amount of everything else. As I said, identity politics and forced diversity. Next time you see me demanding more straight white males, gimme a call.
This is going in a very unpleasant direction. I can't believe that I'm unable to even play a game where killers stalk survivors without having to be lectured about privilege. Be who you want. Celebrate who you are. If you're LBGT, cool. If you're a hardcore Libertarian, cool. If you're a black woman in a wheelchair, cool. But quit making demands of everyone else to cater to your specific identities under the umbrella of "diversity" and "tolerance". This goes for gays, straights, whites, blacks, men, women, everyone. It's a ######### video game. Be happy that exists, play it, and leave politics at the door. This isn't a world demographics simulator.
I'm leaving the discussion now before it gets worse.
So according to you, who I am is a political matter? Wanting to see others like me in a game where there's plenty of others like you is a political matter? Umm....

Having an fps unlocker would be great, or at the very least, v-sync so our monitors can get the fps we deserve.
I'm fine with 60fps, it's the consistent and predictable stuttering and freezing that gets to me.

Can you stop? It's a goddamn video game. Sexual orientation has NOTHING to do with it.
Before you call me homophobic, just know that I'm gay.
Some of us actually like having representation in a game that's already prepresenting straight cis people despite being told that sexuality was never going to be mentioned.
-
I do not. The only good thing that would come of that is proving that people don't play for fun, but to win (it would always be the same characters with OP abilities all the time), despite everything they say. Which would be fine if not for the blatant lie, but also I don't think the game needs any more of that.
-
On some PC's, yes. A lot of us still have terrible optimisation despite having very good PC's that don't have issues with other games.
-
By playing the game normally and hoping they aren't the kind of players that find it fun to use Prove Thyself.
-
Because survivors can hold W and predrop pallets with zero skill and the killer has no right way if playing it because in 90 seconds 3 gens are done absolutely guaranteed, leaving nothing but the last two which will then be done in about 40 and 90 seconds respectively because the killer got nothing out of the first chase because they had to stop chasing the survivor, except a small-to-moderate deadzone that doesn't even matter because the survivors can and will waste more than enough time holding W away and when they are finally hooked after all of that amazingly skilled gameplay their teammates will leave them to go to second stage, finish the last gen before the killer can stop them, have one person on the exit gates while someone else saves their teammate, and escape.
Edit: Sorry, 90 seconds, not 190.
-
DS doesn't yet have enough deactivation conditions imo. It stays up when you get fully healed by someone else or if you get a pallet/flashlight save, actions that cannot be performed if you are getting tunneled.
It should also be buffed with double activation and a longer timer so that it combats tunneling a bit better.

Plague is one of the strongest killers in the game. People just insist she's weak because they suck at her.
Nurse is the strongest killer in the game. It sounds like you're going against bad Nurses.

Yeah unless you become the last person alive. Then it's not great for you hahah.
And?
-
Becausw the survivor has full control over when to use it and the information it gives is insane. Everyone that thinks it's bad in solo que honestly sucks at using it. You always know where the killer is, so you just don't look their way and you won't get revealed. When you need more details, you glance over, and the info is completely worthless for the killer but literally game-breakkng for you, especially against a Hag or Trapper. At worst, the killer hard tunnels you and you die as everyone else escapes.
And that's not even trying to broach the SWF issue.

How can you blink properly when survivors use los blockers on say an indoor map? You have to predict where they're going.
Simple - most maps don't have enough closely spaced LoS blockers. Indoor maps are the only exception, but even then you can just float around and use I'm All Ears.

I agree that its broken but I disagree that piping up means you threw the game.
There's a balance there, but Rank and pips mean literally nothing. Just a ton of players put a lot of value in them. For some reason.
Generally speaking, from my experience, I dont pip up unless I try, and if I try it means I'm not doing what my team needs and we lose
-
That sounds like a great idea, and I used to think it would be good for the game... But like it or not, there's a reason killers patrol hooks. Map pressure is huge and getting more important by the day as survivors adopt a far less interactive playstyle. Getting a survivor on a hook in an area with gens is huge, and removing that would be a huge nerf even if it makes the game more fun, because it reduces potential interactions.
-
@IWasLeft2Die said:

Yeah the pip system is heavily flawed but still the best measurable means of a win or loss. I think the game should be more geared towards kills for killers but right now you get rewarded terribly for 4ks. It all needs major attention
Being a useful teammate and filling whatever roll your team needs gets you a black pip. Throwing the game pips you up. It's not a good system. Kills really is the best way, especially since its a team game.
-
It's a free kill perk whose "counterplay" hands killers 4k's. I wouldn't call that a good thing.

Yep i 100% regret coming back to see how this post went.

Literal photo evidence that keys are utterly useless and yet you all still find a way to pin the blame on something else and claim they are still overpowered while whining old moris need to come back. These ######### forums never change.
Oh, wait, I missed this post where you show you actually think the pip system is a functional win/lose system. Yeah, it's not, it is completely broken and does nothing. That's why most people go by kills. Because even the Devs have said the pip system doesn't work.
-
And what about people who play both sides?
-
FINALLY OTHERS ARE FEELING MY PAIN!!! WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF PREDROPPING!!!
Hope you like playing the same 3 killers over and over again, because pretty soon people are gonna stop trying to loop you altogether and your m1 skills are going to heavily regress until the eventual time you finally go agasint a baby looper and they make you look like a rank 20.

Play as nurse in red ranks and you will see that Los blockers and unpredictable movement counter her. There is counter play for every killer.
I do play Nurse at rank 1. Maybe, just maybe, I'm not a bad Nurse that tries to predict survivors and actually knows how to blink properly?

Speed Limiter Bubba is almost as strong as Regular Bubba. Him and Trapper have the least impactful meme add-ons in the game.

Honestly i find her more fun then spirit. Step 1: equip stridor. Step 2: Smack a survivor. Step 3: go into phase. Profit. Nurse rewards for muscle memory and forethought not just taking all the power from the survivors. And she's way more punishing if your not good at either of those.
I prefer Spirit because I don't use Stridor and I don't do 50/50's or standing still. Also I guess my brain works in straight lines so Spirit is pretty hard for me. I know, ironic, the girl that calls Blight and Nurse easy can't play Spirit. I'm just wierd.
