True, but some things can't be made in a way that is fun for both sides, especially not when it's one side pitched against the other.
As for the tunneling statement, that's a sweeping one I have to disagree with. Hardcore tunneling can lose the trial, but it can also win it. It all depends on the situation at hand. The argument that killer's shouldn't tunnel, because it'll lose them the game is one made in bad faith and shouldn't be used.
If you're going against babies or solo's, then yes, being a nasty old hardcore tunneller wins trials. But you were going against babies and/or solo's, so...

Because I'm not that kinda guy, I don't mind sticking around and discussing something in the chat as long as it's reasonably civil.

Fun is subjective. I don't find it fun when I feel like the control of the game flow is slipping from my fingers, which it shouldn't as the so-called "power role".
Fun may be subjective, but I've yet to see a single person that enjoyed the killer singling them out at the start of the trial and doing nothing but trying to kill them.
Tunneling is a part of the game. And it sucks. Hardcore tunneling is a part of the game. And it's stupid, loses killers the trial, and double sucks.
-
Was it active or inactive? I'll 100% do gens with an inactive RBT on, the timer is so insanely generous and the RNG is so heavily in your favour that only a specific (and very rare to see) combination of add-ons makes them actually dangerous. Same as I do gens while Bleeding Out. I've got 20 seconds and it's paused with the shift key, no shite I'm gonna pop that baby that's 15 away from completion.
-
Strong killers are okay, weak-ish killers are okay, but generally speaking I think that the Oni/Huntress/Plague level of killer is a perfect target to aim for.
-
You're not supposed to be able to wiggle off. The mechanic exists to prevent you from getting hooked in the basement, not to give you an escape.

I mean that's a good point. Survivors get a combined 16 perks, why should killer have to sacrifice one of his 4 perk slots just so he can enjoy the game like a regular game from 2021? lol
Because this game is terribly optimized and handing people a competitive hardware advantage in a casual game never goes well?

true. I still disagree with having to sacrifice a perk slot for it when you're up against 4 other people who all have their own perks, items, addons, and offerings. perhaps there're stats out there that prove me wrong but I feel like shadowborn isn't particularly impactful when it comes to finding stealthy survivors compared to other perks. especially since there're so many maps with cluttered tiles these days (or just outright indoors).
Shadowborn is like Enduring - it's not needed at all, but some people play so much better with it.
-
The problem is, Spirit doesn't need nerfed. In fact, that would be very bad for the game, leaving only Blight and Nurse able to compete with predropping pallets and genrushing (sorry Hag mains, but we all know how good survivors deal with Hag, and it's not fun to have 40 minute trials).
Does she need addressed? Absolutely. 100%. But she still needs to be strong, because if it's okay to have weak killers then it's okay to have strong ones. And it feels like bhvr understands that, or else they would have nerfed her numbers to make her weaker and called it a day.
-

yeah as someone who plays 100-110 FoV in other games that allow it, it feels so nice, so natural
sadly they're still stuck in their ways of "we've always designed this game around low FoV in order to make killer feel more focused" and yadayada. kinda goes out the window when FoV altering perks exist but w/e. i feel like it's something they need to reconsider for the greater good of everyone's eyes and spatial awareness.
I'm not entirely sure how that reasoning goes out the window because of Shadowborn and M&A. They require killers to sacrifice extremely valuable perk slots. If anything, such perks reinforce bhvr's stance.
-
It's a part of the game, it's just not fun, especially hardcore tunnelling.

She actually isn't brand new, she has been mentioned over the years. Her appearance in RE Village is new, but her story is in other RE games
Well, hopefully that will be enough. I doubt it, considering the technical issues and numerous far more iconic characters, but a girl can dream.
-
So far I've only recieved the "Blindness" status, which made OoO a very unwise choice
-
I think they mean she doesn't physically fit.
She wouldn't fit inside Shack, or main buildings, under doorways, in indoor maps, etc.
-
Because Mori's were nerfed and now are just an alternative to the final hook, the only positive benefit they have in terms of actual gameplay is avoiding DS.
Generally speaking, it's a given that 3 gens will get done just by default because at the start of the trial survivors have a lot of resources and killers cannot prevent the gens from being finished. That's actually fine, I genuinely don't see anything wrong with this, but it does mean that at least 2 people can key out by default (unless the survivors are complete potatoes).
Essentially, keys cut off the end of a trial and give survivors a default win and put massive stress on the killer to try and prevent it. The more survivors get sacrificed, the likelier the rest key out. Usually, this means 3 people escaping, because after the 3 default gens most teams can get another one finished.
-
Because that's how the killer is designed and if they don't do that they lose.
Fantastic design choice, isn't it?
-
Visually the map is amazing. The gameplay is awful, especially for an m1 killer. For survivors it's just boring, but it's still a very strong map.

He's completely unloopable and can absolutely still fake his power very effectively. His counterplay is the amazingly fun Hold W. If you get a PH that goes for skillful shots instead of guaranteed hits he can be fun, but that almost never happens unless I'm the Pyramid Head (in my experience).
-
He's a lot better. Needs an add-on pass, double Windstorm and All Seeing aren't fun to deal with. Otherwise, he's a pretty simple and easy killer that isn't massively OP.

Scott made a good point it might only be one time you get it off. But that one time can deny a hook or slug changing the match like Old DS. And don't think Lucky Break will be hard counterd by Legion or some one shot killers?
I've been using a brown medkit to get it twice, or using it with OoO to massively drag out the first chase. I genuinwly think it's even stronger than Scott thinks. I don't know how it made it through playtesting.

From most to least wanted?
Freddy (to first Freddy)
The Game
Billy
Lucky Break

While I do agree ruin would be better, I just really dislike using hex perks, because once its gone, its gone. Now I would've added it with undying but since its nerf, I really don't see the point of it. Plus the RNG of this game doesn't help either, your hex could literally be out in the open and you wouldn't know it until it was cleansed
I find Ruin about as consistent as any other perk, and Ruin/Undying is my favourite combo on nearly any killer. The fact that it's a Hex that the survivors can cleanse is a non-factor for me. There's plenty of trials where Pop, Corrupt, Sloppy, Surge, etc. do absolutely nothing. More than Ruin, even by itself.
-
It's... a build. Makes her a very weak killer whose only real power is her initial instadown. STBFL is a nice backup in case they heal, but that's unlikely. Whispers is... If you like it, keep it, but I'd use I'm All Ears. Pip I'd just completely replace with either Ruin or Corrupt, it's not a good Huntress perk. She has zero mobility so her pressure comes from snowballs, which Ruin is good for, although Iri Head isn't. And I'd use Brutal out of the last two.
-
It would be funny if they bypassed Aussie entirely and went for somewhere a little smaller...
Or included an Aboriginal Australian survivor.
-
I love it. It's my new favourite info perk. I've been running it with Iron Will/Lucky Break and it's just so good.

if you are a woman and you feel like man then you're trans man, but it doesn't make you man, this makes you trans man
No, the hormones you proceed to take alter your biological processes and make you male/female.

I am wondering how we are at this point starting a disscusion about a horror game
Because of your extreme reaction to Felix's theoretical boyfriend being pregnant

Someone's gender is influenced by hormone balance, not genetalia.

Do they remove female organs don't they?
Not usually, no. Most trans people simply take hormones, which whilst impacting fertility does not lead to sterility.

David story is old and about felix I can agree but what if it is actually needed to the future characters? Who knows
That doesn't answer the underlying question: why include mentions of heterosexual relationships? They could have easily mentioned Felix had a pregnant boyfriend instead of girlfriend and it would have been an easy double whammy of LGBT inclusivity.

Why we want to normalize this in a horror game? If they will add a gay I want him to be killer from first half of XX century not just a guy that is mentioned that he is gay withour any reason
There was no reason to mention that any of the characters were straight, either, but they already did that.
-
Hold W straight at survivors while throwing knives and not missing them. Don't m1 healthy people, you can get in a bunch of knives as they sprint away if you injure them with knives.
And that's it, you kind of just do that a bunch. Also, learn his timing so you can play maze tiles better, generally speaking you can get in a knife or two every time you turn a corner.
-
I think it might be a glitched challenge. I would suggest running double Emetics and going purely for full infections, or her purple emetic and purple toe.

I would be down for that ngl, I'm straight but I have nothing against anyone, for me people is people regardless of their sexual preference (I may have worded that wrong).
But they really added straight relationships to the game? I never heard of that but I don't read lore.
Yeah, jsut a few mentions here and there with David, Felix, Nurse and I think a few others. Exactly the kind of thing that could just have reversed pronouns and be perfect representation.

Don't worry OP, I also don't get why people want an LGBT+ character, I understand that they want a character to represent them but wouldn't asking every patch and stuff be worse for normalizing? I want a mexican survivor or killer but we don't get what we want.
Why not an LGBT+ Mexican survivor?
Seriously, they could be hitting all forms of diversity, but instead they only tackled race and then cannonized a couple of characters as straight despite saying they weren't going to do that. I think that's the core issue of the whole thing
-
Because it's nice to be normalised.
-
I think "oh #########, I'm about to deal with 4 second chance perks, one of which is a slower but repeatable Unbreakable".
I really don't like how underappreciated No Mither is. The significant majority of survivors don't heal so in the hands of a decent SWF team it's not a fun perk to deal with. And I only ever see it if either I'm running it or a SWF team is.
-
Unfortunately, I agree. It took 3 consecutive months of holding W, predropping palllets and actual, 3-to-4-minute-trial-genrushing for me to change my mind, but I agree. Without changing the core mechanic of the survivors objective into a more interactive form, punishing the scummy playstyles will just push killers further away from... Well, from killer. And it sucks and I hate it but blame the game design for allowing survivors to stall the killer into a win.

Its only 3 seconds? Plus it has a 30 second cool down when not running. If there running at you with it, don’t hit them? Again, more crybaby killer mains are joining forums.
Someone misusing a distance perk should be able to get punished for it just so that it isn't as free as they all currently are.

They should honestly just let McLean come up with all the ideas because not only does he come up with great ideas but he’s pretty damn good at the game unlike most devs.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2166826#Comment_2166826
This is personal preference but I don’t like using Object with LB/IW because to me, Object kind of defeats the purpose of that combo.
It kind of doesn't, but mostly because that combo has 2 uses: Freely escape a chase or massively drag it out.
-
It's such a fun perk. I've been using it with Lucky Break/Iron Will and... Well, being able to demoralise a killer like that is certainly a thing that's in this game.
-
I mean, yes, yes it should. It's actually quite easy for a couple of Blendettes or a "3-genning" Legion or Doctor to massively drag out a trial to the point of holding it hostage. Having the game just end so everyone can move on would be a nice feature to have.
-
They're a nice little bonus power. Map traversal is always useful, even if it's not Blight-levels of mobility.

I can't even remember the last time they genuinely shadow nerfed a killer.
I don't even know if they ever did that.
The only time that's ever happened was the blanket nerf to audio, when they made chase music override footsteps. It took them months to own up to it in a 4th year loading screen.
-
So long as Third Seal gets reworked so that solo's don't get doubly #########, sure.
-
I've gone against it a couple of times now, and it's not a dealbreaker, trial-ending perk like it used to be. Sure, it's still annoying in the hands of a SWF... Sort of. And it wrecks in a chase if the timing is right, that happened twice and I won't lie, I got a bit... Annoyed. Didn't help that I was playing on the somehow-buffed Cowshed.
But it's now my main info perk as a survivor. OoO, Iron Will, Lucky Break, and either For The People or WGLF. Still haven't been facecamped to death yet, but it's been close. Turns out killers don't like it when they lose you in a chase almost instantly only for you to be revealed to be across the map, somehow resisting the extreme urge to t-bag.
