  • #########? No, that's just normal basement play. You had an advantage and used it well. Sure, it sucks to deal with as a survivor... But it's not like survivors don't constantly put killers in equally stressful situations. Now, if you had just sat in the room outside the basement then maybe, yeah. But you left to go chase someone else. And you were playing one of Bubba's weakest maps, so that's even less of a reason to give them too much leeway.

And honestly, the moment someone mentions slugging as a toxic action, just let it slide and stop registering their ideas of fun and balance. Too many survivor main morons genuinely believe that killers should go for 12 hook games. It's the survivor equivalent of "oh my god, you genrushed me, you should have done totems and chests you toxic genrushing deathsquad".

  • No, you were getting Dedicated Servers. It's a bigger issue with Plague (I genuinely don't know why) but in a nutshell, if both yours and the survivors pings combined reach over about 80, you're going to get robbed shots. Deathslinger also deals with this. But I genuinely have no idea why it's a bigger issue for Plague than the other two, I get maybe 1 robbed hit in 20 as Huntress and Deathslinger (bloodspray, screams, no health state change).

  • I dunno about killers but a licensed survivor I'd love to see is the Matt Ryan version of John Constantine. Yeah, I dream way too big, I know DC would literally never have a reason to let it happen, but I'd still love to see it.

Hells, let's be honest, Constantine could be a killer as well. I'm terrified of the guy.

nobody cares about blood warden anymore. haven't seen it in at least a hundred games and this is from purple ranks all the way to green (Sometimes I decay when off at school). They only do it to get saves without pressure.

And why exactly do people not care about Bloodwarden? Why exactly did people start 99ing the exit gates? It certainly had nothing to do with pressure, EGC takes absolutely ages. There's no pressure there.

Think you got them mixed up? Tombstone Piece only lets you get one kill per EW3 and unless you're some micromanaging god with who you stalk and tombstone in what order you're not going to have enough stalker juice to go around to mori more than 2 usually.

I agree Tombstone Piece is better than the full Judith's Tombstone since there's no movement speed penalty and the stalking requirement is far lower. (Well, mainly because 99% of the time you run the full Judith's Tombstone, you're gonna run the infinite EW3 tuft with it)

I definitely did not get them mixed up. You can stalk and kill 2-3 people with the Tombstone Piece without really trying, and you can just slap on other add-ons to make it even dumber. I used to compare it with an ivory Mori, but it's just way stronger.

  • Tombstone is fine, its basically Myers super-nerfing himself so he can maybe get a Mori animation or 2. Tombstone Piece however, is unfair AF and probably the single strongest add-on on the game, because it's basically an ebony Mori.

  • I main Kate. Not much reason, I just like the upbeat songbird (as upbeat as anyone in this game can be, at least).

As for killer... Honestly, too many. Plague was my main for ages, but I had to quit playing her because of all the robbed hits. Now I mostly play Hag, Ghostface and Oni, with a nice helping of Legion to practice my m1.

  • I want your survivors. Gimme. Gimme gimme gimme.

  • So you want every killer to go for 12 hooks and pretend they're good? That is the definition of a bad killer. It is entirely the survivors faults if theyose to a 12 hook killer, no question. It isn't a matter of skill. It's a matter of maths.

Edit: also, it seems like your idea of "scummy" is "putting survivors in an uncomfortable position". I would then ask what you think of hook bombing, second-chance perks, and Prove Thyself genrushers.

  • Yeah, that'd be nice. Wouldn't really help much, though. More of a small QoL patch than anything else.

If you aren't trying to rescue a team mate, you're a bit selfish. Punishing is a really cocky thing to say.

No, punishing is the correct term. They could have escaped - if they want to save their friend, they're going to have to risk dying for them.

The killer is The Horrifying Brutal Killer, not Your Friendly Neighbourhood Killer. (Unless they're playing Ghostface, I guess.)

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

EGC is working as intended. 99 is fair, as is pre-opening or anything in between. Focus on stopping the survivors before they complete the generators if you want to be in a better position. The EGC is purposefully not there as a means of extra pressure, so stop asking for it.

I don't think you understand why people 99 the gate - it removes any possible threat from Bloodwarden and makes it into a meme perk. If the killer wants to use it, they have to open the gate themselves - a risky and time-consuming venture.

  • NOED is far from the strongest perk in the game. If you are consistently losing to NOED, rethink your own gameplay. When that first notification comes in, just bloody well leave. There's no point hanging around. Is it unfair? Hell yes. Is it strong? Only as strong as you, the team of survivors, make it. Just stop being altruistic and NOED stops being strong. It's the same principle as facecamping: when you see someone doing it, just let them and deny them of any more kills.

Edit: also, please isn't use "don't tunnel" as some DS counterplay excuse. Touching a survivor within 1 minute isn't tunelling, and thats assuming said survivor didn't jump into a locker, sit in a gen, go for an unhook, bodyblock with BT, or heal beside the hook.

  • DS, the most easily abusable perk in the game, amd OoO, the most ridiculous info perk in the game. It's been my experience that even the most "fair" DS users still stab you if you pick them up within 1 minute, regardless of what happens in that minute.

And OoO is just nuts. Free, detailed info whenever you want it. Massive headstart if the killer ever comes for you. Absolutely destroys stealth killers. Its at its most ridiculous in a SWF, but even for solo players it is insanely good. Most people dont run it because the killer will likely tunnel you for extremely obvious reasons.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    Yes.

I religiously run DS. Most of my games at Rank 1 I don't end up using it, it's more of a backup in case a killer wants to be a flat out jerk and tunnel me down.

Good killers know how to counter it.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/D2HQYYS80IXU/meg-deathgarden-png.png

This has been my build for 3 weeks.

So you use 2 broken perks in conjunction. You say that good killers can counter DS. I suppose I'm glad you don't run UB as well.

  • Cleansing totems doesn't counter NOED, because it's stronger than NOED. The counter to NOED is to let the killer have their 1 petty kill. Cleansing totems can get the entire team killed before the gates are even powered.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    Because

Standing still shouldn't = Free Hit.

What are you taking about. That's a super advanced big-brain tech that only the best Spirits can use

  • Pretty high. Similar to Ghostface and Plague. He eats pallets even faster than Legion, Oni and Billy, and there's some big brain plays you can pull at unsafe windows for a chainsaw hit, but overall he gets destroyed by generators and good window setups.

  • They like to try and bait you into attacking for some wierd "ha ha, I'm better than you!" nonsense, but TBH they are super easy to bait into taking a hit. Not to mention, if you need them to leave the area, you can just look at them and do a basic m1. Bye bye zommy zoomer. Hope you enjoy your wasted perk while I do whatever it is I was here to do.

  • Yes, you should be locked after loading into the lobby to prevent quickswitching. It's bad enough killers can no longer react very well to an obvious SWF or meta team, but survivors can still totally quickswitch and avoid what little setup you could potentially do.

  • Yes. Plague with good ping probably has the best chase in the game, but Oni can make better use of Infectious Fright with his demon dash, closing the gap much quicker and generally being better at time management during the snowball.

  • No, Billy is a bit better. Oni in blood fury is insanely strong, but he's pretty dependent on having a good early game as an m1 killer AND he has to go out of his way to recharge his power. Billy not only doesn't have that, but he can consistently use his chainsaw with pretty much no downsides, since you have to be extremely careless to ever overheat it. It's more that Oni is easier than Billy is weaker, though they both lose to good survivors anyway so it's no big deal.

  • There isn't actually much strategy with Plague, TBH. Spread infection early and don't go for a full infection unless you are guaranteed to get it quick. Infect pallets and windows. Infect downed survivors and hooked survivors (aim at their shins). Everything else is m1 killer skill/Plague Purge skill, and both you and the survivors having good server connections.

And the rest is out of your control. If the survivors aren't cleansing, play normal m1 killer. If they are cleansing, make sure to keep at least 1 person infected, and clean out the fountains around the generator area so they are forced to cleanse beside you or stay broken. If your fountain is in a good location, use it. If it isn't, ignore it unless you have a ridiculous advantage in terms of gens done/players left. You will lose games trying to get your fountain from the other side of the map.

If you want early pressure, run infection rate add-ons and go for dull infections. If you want more chances to use Corrupt Purge, use apples. Remember, everything that says "Vile Purge" works with Corrupt Purge (except infection rate add-ons).

  • It's like getting called a tuneller after someone farms their teammate and you down them both, only to get DS'd.

  • Its still random chance. Just because Person A can cover 10% more ground doesn't mean that the object will be in that extra ground covered.

And your analogy is off, given that 15% extra movement speed isn't that much, the killer begins their search much later, and they cannot hide where they have already searched so a smart survivor can tell where the hatch is not simply by looking at where the killer came from.

Still, hatch is a stupid mechanic. It either robs the killer of a kill or robs the survivor of their last chance to escape. The killer shouldn't be punished by a roll of the dice, nor should the last survivor have no hope of escaping.

It's like when killers bleaches their monitor with Nvidia and their monitor ig are brighter than an apple store.

    "MY GamE iS toO dArK"

Or like people that played on low resolution to see the red stain through walls before it was patched out.

  • I was either going to buy the Minotaur skin, or the rift pass. I brought the Minotaur. And I genuinely don't even remotely regret it, the only rift skin I even slightly want is the free Doc one.

Plus, I'm genuinely reinvigorated to play Oni. So that's a huge plus. Sure, the rift is more value for money, but unlike the last rift nothing grabs me about this paid tier.

  • I don't care because sounds are still pretty buggy and I'll occasionally hear my footsteps being projected a few feet away from me. Who cares about breathing when that's in the game.

  • Honestly, it would be too much effort. It's far easier to just tell killers to go for a mini lunge instead of an m1.

  • Great idea. The healing action should be slowed down a bit and the perk should be fixed so it actually activates, but otherwise it sounds like a nice change.

  • It wasn't added this patch, but it is likely to get added alongside the MMR. Hopefully it will not only fix melee hits, but ranged attacks as well. I'm a little sick of "missing" attacks against high-ping survivors.

lmfao i'm not a hardcore player, i just moved from ps4 to pc...how has only 9.7% of players prestiged to level 2 with ANY character...

Because most people don't even care about the prestige cosmetics. I've only ever prestiged Kate, and only to prestige 1, and only because I like the bloody shirt. And was never any other incentive to prestige, so most people didn't bother. Of course, now the Devs are talking about adding extra rewards because everyone that prestiged who isn't a completionist realised that they got scammed, but here's hoping it's not an unfair advantage.

  • By almost every account I've seen from people that played both sides, DBD in 2017 was awful.

Also, from what you have said, you literally uses DS for free escapes and want to continue to do so. How is that fair? And just so we're clear, "because I equipped it" or "the killer was tunelling me after I fully healed" aren't even excuses. They're just dumb sentences.

  • Allegedly, yes. Just make an in-game report and the Dev team will follow up on it and likely ban the abuser.

  • That would actually be both cool and terrifying. Even if their power was just being an m1 killer that had to go around "activating" otherwise dormant paintings that get added to loops and buildings demo-style, that could potentially be quite strong.

And imagine if you were in the House of Pain and saw a watercolour portrait stretch into a serial killer. DBD is more of a horror-themed game than a horror game (let's be honest, nothing stays horrifying in the horror genre) but that would never not disturb me.

  • "EMT trained self-care experts..."

Okay, that one made me laugh. In all seriousness though, SC buffs medkits and, if someone is using it correctly alongside Botany instead of slowly healing and isolating yourself whenever you take a hit, it buffs them even more.

Also, I've been using toolboxes lately, and they are kinda nuts still. The massive repair speedboost is incredibly useful. People can call them gutted all they want, if I have a toolbox and I want a gen done, that gen ain't getting PGTW'd back to 70% before I can finish. That is huge.

  • Rank doesn't equal skill. It really isn't BS. The only difference that rank makes is that the concentration of bad players decreases at each rank, but I genuinely don't think it ever drops below two thirds.

    Yes! Agreed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1497835#Comment_1497835

    On newer maps, maybe.

But my bottom 2 pictures have 1 of my Hex Totems destroyed next to a gen, and the other is literally right next to another gen.

Those 2 bottom pictures were today.

I'm not saying totems on all maps are good. In fact, I'd go out on a limb and say that thanks to the OG maps the averages are decidedly awful. But they have stopped deliberately placing them next to generators. Reworking older maps, however, is probably the biggest nightmare of clashing code and wierd systems in DBD

  • They did stop putting totem spawns next to gens, that's why people hate Hex perks on newer maps.

  • Because literally no killer can counter generator speeds if the team just does their objective.

  • Yeah, you're totally right... Except there are things you can do about bubba. First: vault windows. If the bubba has Bamboozle, it barely matters because you will have gained enough distance to make it to the next pallet. Thing 2: throw the pallet. You might get a stun but it'll probably be an instant break. Still plenty of time to go find another window to vault, though. Rinse and repeat and you have bubba gameplay.

Old legion was literally unavoidable. They could vault everything and keep hitting you regardless of anything you did. Bubba at an LT wall is just an m1 killer with (potentially) Bamboozle.

  • It's because the Devs have been using bandaid perks to fix broken parts of the game. They essentially add a small mechanic that potentially changes how an entire scenario plays out if someone happened to have it equipped. Mostly it's survivor perks that have the most jarring shifts, but killers literally win or lose based on perks alone thanks to gen-control and tracking perks. Essentially, there are parts of the basekit that are missing and you can choose what perk you want to fill it in.

  • It's just the disparity between trials. Sometimes it's a wannabe deathsquad Vs baby legion, other times it's 4 bad solo's Vs Nurse. It certainly doesn't help that solo players don't see the number of SWF's and just assume every trial plays out like theirs do.

its what happens every time i go against a hag. if she doesnt get a basement hook she lost. in regard to second chance perks for bt i target the unhooker whenever possible and for ds i slug and i think it wore off. come on bashing on DH? i dont mind if they take high risk high skill high reward perk like that its mainly just ds that annoys me

DH as a "high skill" perk? It just pushing a button. There's not even any skill in using it, it exists to make up for a LACK of skill. A good player doesn't need to push E to reach a safe zone.

And you really shouldn't judge Hag by what you do when you play against her. Most random players aren't that good, why do you think Freddy and DS/UB are picked so much? People want easy games, they don't want to learn the nuances of each killer, and they don't want to have to think about what they are doing. And on that note, good luck slugging out the DS when the meta is UB and Locker DS.

i was going for specific counters thats why i didnt mention second chance perks. btw i never eat second chance perks if i see it coming and i do fine. everyone says hag is s tier with 4 flashlights being the only counter i just dont see it. noting around were she has been setting up and sprinting through her web whenever she cant tele ie. picking up and hooking a survivor can undo so much work for so little time investment and after that shes a 110 killer and shes going to lose shes not as good as people make her out to be

I'm going to go out on a limb and say thay you are trying to chase people as Hag and play by the survivor rulebook. Don't. If someone destroys part of your web, set it back up. As long as you are there, they can't work on the generators or safely heal. No one person should ever be able to disable more than 2 traps, or else you placed them too tightly.

And honestly, second chance perks aren't avoidable. Sure, they're easy to see coming, but your only options are to leave that survivor alone for free heals and gens, or eat them so they cannot do it again later in in the match. And they do counter specific killers: Mobility and ranged killers don't care about DS. Unbreakable hurts snowball killers more than anyone else. Trap killers dont care about Deliverence. One-shot killers don't care about Adrenaline. Ranged killers get hurt worst of all by DH.

It's not an unfair mechanic for both sides, you as a killer literally have no reason to want a hatch ingame (fairness and empathy are not reasons)

KIllers already worked for the kill by killing the 3 other survivors, ######### are you talking about.

Okay, so you literally just admitted you don't ean the game to be fair. Goodbye.

Uh yeah, ask killer players if they want the hatch or if they'd give it up, then come again how the hatch is a free kill ROFL. Good luck to the survivor on finishing gens alone without a hatch, THAT would be basically a free kill.

The only reason why killerplayers would want the hatch to exist is because the game would be ######### dead without it.

Hello, I am a killer player. I would prefer hatch to be in tha game than not be. And it is an unfair mechanic for both sides.

Survivors usually have no way of escaping if the hatch is closed, since door spawns are terrible and patrolling them is easy. The killer doesn't even have to work for their kill, they just have to slap the survivor if they get too close to a door and give them a hold-W chase. Easiest kill in DBD.

    You really need perspective.

  • Duh, just use Nvidia filer settings - wait, what so you mean you can't use them because they aren't great in the first place and don't help people on console/more than half the PC players?

  • @PerkyPerky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1495885#Comment_1495885

Meanwhile: nothing wrong with hatch and giving survivors billion second chances.

Actually, hatch isn't some big survivor-sided mechanic, it's just RNG. If the survivor finds it first, it's a free escape. If the killer finds it first, it's a free kill. Neither are comparable to the atrocious second-chance meta or the idiocy that is NOED.

  • While I agree with most of what you said, I disagree with Plague. Her counter is bad RNG and high ping. A good Plague with a Corrupt fountain on hand can snowball so hard the survivors never recover.

And you unfortunately forgot the biggest hard-counter to every killer in the game: second chance perks, specifically DS/UB. No killer but PH can avoid them in any sense. The "counterplay" to most second chance perks is not to avoid them going off, but to eat them and hope it's enough. And, unfortunately, it usually isn't.

Edit: I would also like to point out that Hag's ONLY counter is a full swf with flashlights, and even then I'd bet on a good hag. Dropping pallets early does nothing, especially if the hag in question knows about the High Ground Trap.

1 … 148 149 150 151 152 … 165
