I guess, it's somewhat similar to how I feel about DH. I do not consider this perk problematic anymore but I also never want to see it again.

    Fair.

Obviously DH is nowhere near the problem it was but yeah I admit it can be annoying as killer, I forget to play around it since it is far rarer than it was before.

  • Ultimate Weapon, tunnelling, survivors who don't leave when the match is over and 3-4 slowdown builds.

But at present Ultimate Weapon makes me rage, I know it is irrational in the big scheme of things but Ultimate Weapon irritates me no end

  • Be very hard to penalise them for this as hiding is part of normal gameplay, though I get the frustration and some people just have far too much time on their hands.

I will give up and ask the killer to hook me in 3 gen situations that are dragging out as I would rather move on to a fresh match. But I have had survivors that hide and its incredibly annoying and certainly one of the very rare occasions I will actually slug for a 4k - nobody is going to waste that much of my time and get hatch that is for sure!

Knowing where gens spawn is all well and good until you get other survivors actively working against your efforts to prevent a 3 gen. Then it really helps to have real time updates of the worst possible 3 gens so you can at least minimise the impact. That's why I run Deja Vu, and 6% doesn't hurt.

Yeah I do think the perk has its use but it just doesn't justify taking up a perk slot for me personally.

Just had another match on this map… exact same scenario played out where we versed a Myers and randoms did the far lone gen and top main gen first.

You would think survivors would learn but they just dont seem to as this happens pretty much every time on this map. It's one thing I hate about matchmaking being all over the place, as experienced survivors would know better

I agree about the gen in main. I always try to do the ones near the unsafe pallets. But again the pallets are terrible on that map

They are essentially just fillers yeah…

While you may not be in my region, I thank you on behalf of solo queue warriors in your region as the vast majority of survivors do the safe top gen every time.

I wish I could communicate to them not to do this but it feels hopeless as every match is the same mistake.

    *Sigh

  • Window is counter at any point against Billy regardless of addon. But if you get caught at any loop with only a pallet… you die. There is no counter.

  • @JeanGreyarea said:

I hate the new map as survivor.

I don't mind it at all, I think the issues for survivor are that the middle may be full of pallets but they are either slightly unsafe to very unsafe fillers.

The issue I have is the premise of the thread - solo randoms pretty much always do the top gen or the far gen in the other corner creating an inevitable nightmare late game where you only have mid gens with nothing but unsafe pallets to play around.

If survivors played this map right for once the map would be rough for killers to pressure without resorting to only patrolling mid to force a 3 gen

  • Misplays aside, I do think Billy needs some adjustments and Lopro needs to be completely reworked as that addon is utterly broken with zero counter play. If you are injured vs Lopro you either go down at a pallet or you throw the pallet and still go down.

I don't mind that Billy got a buff as I think he need it but I think it needs a bit of fine tuning (down)

  • @ExcelSword said:

Deja Vu is a staple on my solo Q build, letting me see the 3 gens closest and knowing which ones to focus.

That said, there is caution upon throwing the game by trying to complete those 3 gens only and basically treating it like there are only 3 gens. It doesn't matter if you have broken the 3 gen if you still have 4 gens left and the killer has already put people to death hook.

I don't bother with Deja Vu as I feel that once you have played enough you know the gens to get rid of first such as mid gens, unsafe ones and NOT the edge map gens.

Some killers will try to force a 3 gen which is a very boring tactic of course but eventually they will have to take chase and they can only kick gens so much now thankfully. It can create a long and tedious match but still winnable

  • I don't mind at all so long as they have NO HINDERED OR HASTE effects and they are NOT boring anti-loop killers like Knight.

Yes, it happened again today. It's the same every time. They should really restrict the camera

Yeah or only have it so you can see the camera of your own team mates and not the randoms in the lobby

  • Survivor: Balanced, Kindred, We'll Make It and either Windows or Strength in Shadows

I cant really say I have a fav for killer as I tend to use different builds on most killers as they play differently

  • @MrPenguin said:

Please prevent the same survivor perks back to back.
Any survivor using any perk in my last match should be forced to wait longer in que so I have a match I personally enjoy more. I don't care about them. RIP que times for anyone using popular perks.

Replace that with killer and that's how you sound. People rightfully are calling out the selfish entitlement to get a match you personally want at the detriment to others.

Just stop playing the game if it bothers you so much that a killer you don't want to face might get picked. It's in the game so it might get used. You accept that possibility when you que up. The same way killers accept the risk of going up against another meta perk squad.

Then don't dare complain when survivors just go next and don't want to participate in the match.

Edit: and you are facing essentially the same thing as killer as survivors are just skins either way. Killers are very distinct and have unique powers so trying a direct comparison of both sides is flawed.

Its the same as getting the same map back to back for either side, it is tedious and easily avoidable and doesn't necessarily mean dramatically higher queue times.

  • @kaoraku said:

So… I am asking this from you. On this path. What will be the next? You can exclude skins from the que? Or perks? I do not want to play every game against adrenalin/hope, buckleup/forthepeople players. Just like many other killers.

So survivors should wait longer for a killer who would like to play against it? Or it should be banned in the lobby? You see how bad it is?

Or every survivor could ban a strong killer. So even if I bought it I cannot play it at all.

Meanwhile I understand that playing against the same killer can be boring and frustrating trust me, playing against the same perk combinations not better at all. And this path would only ruin the game altogether.

No, prevent the same killer back to back. I was very clear.

No point answering the additional million pointless questions you added to strawman me.

  • They definitely are dumbing the game down, kinda fits with the overall dumbing down of western society as a whole that toxic influences like TokTic and other brain rot is creating.

I get wanting to make the game more accessible to a new player and the casuals but I definitely do not enjoy the dumbing down either.

It's a big can of worms I don't have the energy to discuss too much but I am sure many of us have wondered how in the hell a flashlight blind got us, or from the survivor side how our blind actually worked etc. Just the tip of a very big iceberg though and I don't have the energy to care tbh…

  • @Killing_Time said:

This is nothing but another attempt to get regression NERFED. You took away old ruin, you took overcharge, you took original pop, you took BBQ, you took eruption, you took onryo regression perk like what more do you want?

    You also took NOED.

I personally understand why killers are stacking slowdown but I dislike the way many of these perks achieve slowdown. It creates a very tedious gameplay loop and continual wars of attrition that can become a real chore.

I would like to see changes where killers aren't feeling like they need to stack gen perks and chases are encouraged over constantly regressing gens to keep matches under control.

I don't personally care about NOED as killer as I never use it personally and feel its a crutch anyway. I don't care if killers want to run it though…

  • @Raconteurminator said:

All this would do is further destabilise an already unreliable matchmaking system and increase queue times by far longer than 5-10 minutes.

I am also "not set dressing" and I cant be motivated to play and enjoy a match I do not want to play. Forcing me to endure back to back mend-fests is also selfish - it goes both ways.

No-one is forcing you to endure anything, no-one is compelling you to play the game. The answer is to simply stop playing if you're not happy. The answer isn't to enact a system that makes everyone but you miserable and punishes the Killer player for simply trying to use content they enjoy and have potentially paid for. When you start paying for people's DLC, then you can consider a system that arbitrarily punishes people for using it.

I am happy, I just don't want to verse the same killer back to back to back

Forcing people into matches they don't want to play isn't a solution to anything, everyone loses in that case.

As I have repeatedly said, I am more than happy to be personally penalised 5-10 minutes waiting for a lobby than to endure something like Thana Legion 3 times in a row.

  • @Blueberry said:

I would rather sit in queue than play with bots. I dislike how if I’m playing killer and everyone leaves that I’m forced to play the match out. If survivors leave I should be allowed to leave as well unpenalized. Playing against bots isn’t fun.

    That is fair.

Though I do have to admit there are some killers I have to laugh at the thought of them getting stuck with bots as they kinda deserve it.

Like today my first game was a Spirit that camped the first survivor then tunnelled them at 5 gens, so I just let them hook me and went next while everyone else DC'd so they were left in the game with 3 bots lol.

Dunno what about my post comes across as agitated. The problem is that you are not the only person affected by additional waiting time searching for a killer to meet your demands. The MMR would pass over killers that you and others have played vs recently. This makes the killers wait longer for the sake of giving you games you want. Again, you're only thinking of yourself and your gameplay experience.

If you don't like legion so much then play as them and see what good survivors do to thwart you. If you split up intelligently then you won't mend more than a couple times per game. Nothing about their power is "free". You have to work for chain frenzy hits.

I have over 4k hours, I know how to verse Legion but 99.9% of the solo queue team mates I have do not. They continue to heal after every deep wound and bunch up on gens, along with running the killer to me.

Thana Legion is incredibly tedious to verse and yes I am thinking of myself but also if you force people into miserable matches they don't want to play, it ultimately affects everyone including the killer.

I am also "not set dressing" and I cant be motivated to play and enjoy a match I do not want to play. Forcing me to endure back to back mend-fests is also selfish - it goes both ways.

  • @Ohyakno said:

Killers are not set dressing for you to play with. They are actual people trying to play the game and do not deserve increased queues to tailor your experience to your preference.

Also thana legion? Keep one person uninjured and it does nothing. If you pre run as soon as you hear the terror radius that person can even be you.

    Lmao… calm down champ.

I don't care if I HAVE TO WAIT longer to not get the same killer back to back, there are more than 4 survivors in the queues at any time and putting people in matches they don't want to play is not going to create a fun match for anyone involved.

As for Thana Legion complaints - Legion is a weak killer and I have thousands of hours as survivor and have no problem remaining injured against a weak killer like Legion. However Legion is tedious to verse with cheap/free injures and while you may enjoy playing mending simulator, I find it absolutely mind-numbing when I have this crap back to back. I am sure I am not alone in that…

Pretty sure BHVR never mess with something that causes matchmaking problem

Apparently they have not touched matchmaking since they increased the soft cap last year…

  • @Starrseed said:

while i absolutlly understand that this can be frustrating i think this could lead to problems.

when you play 4man swf then its less of a problem but matchmaking would have up to 4 killer that cant be matched in q if its four random survs. matchmaking is already struggeling to find fair and fast matches and while the q times right now could be one or two minuts longer without anyone having a problem in dont think matchmaking could handles this.

also from what i see in my region as a killer main i have instant qs there is basicly no wait time but the streamer i like to watch has 5 to 10 minutes qs as survivor. that means we already have more survs in q then killers if we now as an example say that lobby x cant have blight, wesker, huntress and nurse cause those killers got encountered last by the four random survivors we could have a real problem cause those are pretty popular killers. now the system needs to look for a killer player that fits there mmr and that plays another killer.

im sure you get what i try to say matchmaking would get even worse and i can still remember the time not to long ago when surv q times got higher and higher and no one liked 10 to 15 minutes q times just cause there where no killer players

I get what you are saying but some of us would take quality over quantity in these cases.

I can actually tolerate obviously scuffed matchmaking as far as MMR of team mates clearly being lower and I can bring up the energy to participate. But honestly going against the same killer, especially something as tedious as Thana Legion or hit and run Sloppy Wraith etc… I struggle to be involved in the game and it doesn't feel fair to either my team mates or myself.

  • @Neaxolotl said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3696392#Comment_3696392

Actually, killers want to chase, down, and hook without having to sweat all the time

So no, hook oriented gameplay by itself is hardly a problem, just that gen time would be like 3 minutes each

    I so agree with this.

As survivor I want to have chases, as killer I want to chase so I hope the game moves more in this direction.

I am seeing so many full gen builds from killers lately and why they want to Slow gens, some games it is just so overwhelming and tedious to deal with it is easier just to go next.

  • The only reason I will wait at the gates to bag you is if you tried to tunnel me off hook or slug for the 4k. You waste my time, then I will also waste your time and wait to give you the bags.

  • Bro… the LAST thing Spirit needs is a buff of any kind. I think she is in a good spot now and even as someone who rarely plays her I can 4k fairly easily when I pick her up after months of not playing her.

I still think she is S tier and I do not want to see S tier killers buffed in any way

  • I don't think an efficient SWF is "dethroned" as they will destroy pretty much every killer in public lobbies, as has been shown time and time again.

That being said, I do think stacking 3-4 gen control/regression perks should not be a thing and I will again say that I feel Pop should only have 4 charges total.

I have versed full gen regression builds where I am (as always) the solo queue sucker who takes the biggest risk trying to do the unsafe/mid gen, only to have it hit with Pain Res/Pop multiple times to the point I feel like I just cant do it and I want to go on to the next match.

I personally prefer Corrupt/Ruin as I feel it is less miserable to go against and the combo can be quite effective and I would like to see more of this kind of gen control over repeated regression which can feel really bad as survivor

  • I am very much of the belief that MMR effectively doesn't exist outside of peak hours and the game clearly prioritises speedy match making over accuracy.

I am mostly okay with that as I like the chaos of wide variations in experience but I admit at times it can create some frustrating matches. My last match I was put in a lobby with a player with just under 60 hours while I am at over 4k hours… For the record, I actually went into that match regardless and both me and the baby survivor escaped (on RPD).

  • I saw a bunch of them today for some reason but I have not seen that many in the last couple of weeks. Nowhere near as frequently seen as say Huntress but nowhere near as rare as Twins (thankfully) seem to be.

  • No. I do not want to play with bots

  • The old Coldwind realm was my favourite, it had such a vibe and I was absolutely horrified when I saw the new versions were set in the day.

I would love to see them return to a night time setting!

Lots of other stuff I would like to see but yeah every time someone brings up old Coldwind the nostalgia hits me hard :(

Doing so with the intention to grief is not reportable.

Griefing literally is one of the in game reporting options

  • Hmm I also didn't get the question either but I am also a big fan of BP and I used to waste all my shards on the Shrine but it doesn't feel worth it anymore. Any way we can get a lot of BP without it crossing the line of being pay to win is good by me

  • You need to accept that if you are going to play solo queue then most of your random team mates will be clueless at best. As a solo queue veteran I know it can be infuriating having team mates who go down in seconds, run killers to you working the only gen being done, doing the ultra safe gens first, cleansing dull totems/opening chests when you need to pressure an important gen…

Hell I bring Kindred to help my teams coordinate saves at least but I cant count how many times I have died on first hook WITH KINDRED.

If you don't accept that solo queue is an absolute dumpster fire and learn to just go with it, you're gonna have a bad time and lose the will to go on.

  • I have had a few of these in the last week, just had a knockout killer attempting to bleed us out but failing as I think my team mates were a SWF so Knockout didn't do much.

I will say it again as I have said many times, there needs to be a 'concede' option when everyone is slugged and there is no perk to get anyone up. This would remove a lot of the incentive for trolling for the immature kids who continue to do this, as wasting 4 minutes of their own time bleeding out bots isn't probably going to do it for them.

Edit: I know slugging isn't reportable but some of these are doing so to intentionally grief others which I am sure is reportable.

Lol yeah they are on pretty much every outdoor map now

  • If you don't use your killers power you aren't playing them right, simple as that. They have a power for a reason and generally gameplay is balanced (as best it can be) around them using their power.

That being said, I will play Skull Merchant and not use any drones just because they are annoying and it can be a challenge being M1 only

How can you know anything about methodology or what the devs take into consideration? Do you work for BHVR or have access to their internal processes? I know Mandy and Peanits both said they do not release all data or methods they use to calculate things.

You can conclude that without too much brain power: SM being the strongest killer due to the raw data - Nurse being the 'weakest' killer based on the data.

I never asserted that I know the specific data variables that are being included or not but I think it is pretty safe to say that when data produces results that see Nurse as the weakest killer in the game, clearly not all variables are part of the collation here.

  • @dwight444 said:

indeed. it's not a secret that a survivor should hug a loop tightly so what purpose do random objects like these serve other than to flat out sandbag? Similarly, there's no reason to place lockers next to a vault either as controller players get screwed. It happens very rarely to me but when it does it sure is annoying…

I think it's the red forest map that one of the tiles has a tree that you have to loop around when looping the tile and 9/10 I just run into it cause it's not at the front of my mind to remember the tree is there. It's just stupid design imo

I wonder if it is a low key attempt to nerf survivors on certain maps? As its likely going to be the more experienced survivors who will loop tightly against walls so you are more likely to get stuck.

I feel that I get stuck on random junk more than ever

  • @mecca said:

Sometimes when things are said so much it is believed, regardless of it is factually false or not. This is the case here.

The true reality is the game is broken in the favor of killers. We have to remember that this is game a killer can win over a thousand times in a row and nobody escapes. That's messed up!

If you are an average/low skill survivor then of course the game seems killer sided.

As for winning 1000+ games, I agree that should not happen in most scenarios but these are top 1% players playing the S tier killers with the sweatiest builds and against public lobbies that are made up of the average low skill survivor.

You know what breaks these stupid win streaks? Survivors who are in the top 1% because the top level of the game is survivor sided.

I dont want your vods I want all the peoples games data that play the game (like the devs have) at high mmr you dont even know what mmr you play at also youre only one person you might be terrible at the game for all I know. Thats not data thats one persons experience.

Sure shoot away at why you think its flawed on the kill rate side d/c's letting go on hook? That dosent happen prevently at high mmr making the high mmr swf data the most un-skewed. The problem you have is you go by what you feel and not what the data shows. Close to a hundred thousand people play the game not just you and your vods.

I win 80% of my killer games does that men the killer win rate is 80% now?

Also the fact again that a killer can go on a 1000+ win streak and the top tier comp team in the world can only go on a 200 speaks even more into the game is killer sided. If the game is swf sided why do they lose so easily?

I win 95% of my killer games at a guess yet I am not claiming that anecdotal claim is representative of the overall reality in the game and why is that? Because the sourcing of my data is flawed - the sample size is too limited and doesn't take into account all possible variables that lead me to winning pretty much every killer game I play. This is what you cant seem to comprehend with regards to the flaw in citing "the data" as a basis of your argument.

Yet you swear by the same data that would 'mathematically' indicate that Nurse is the worst killer in the game and SM is by far the strongest.

"If the game is swf sided why do they lose so easily?" - because the majority of survivors are awful at the game and stacking 4x awful players together doesn't miraculously result in winning matches.

I can't keep repeating the same point over and over in different ways, if you don't get it you don't get it so just move on.

  • @Hexling said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3694487#Comment_3694487

No lol Its more killer sided at low levels and still killer sided at high mmr the numbers clearly prove it. You dont even know ifd you play at a high level lol i always love the " I pLaY aT hIgH MmR' argument youre wrong its as simple as that no one cares how you feel the NUMBERS dont lie math dosent lie. If it is a 48% survival rate at the top tier mmr that only 5% of the people playing at with swf where every try hard plays and sweats to death and the killer still has a higher win rate then i dont know what else to tell you but you have no idea what youre talking about. The numbers are much lower indicating like you said at lower mmr killer is even easier.

Data is meaningless if the methodology is flawed and it doesn't take all factors into consideration, this is what you seem to be unable to comprehend. I don't know how to make you understand that when your data omits significant variables, the end result is meaningless.

Anyone who plays this game at a high level knows I am right. Facts.

  • @Hexling said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3694478#Comment_3694478

Did you not read I said yes she is the worst killer overall. Most nurse games you will stomp the nurse untill high mmr the numbers dont just look at high mmr but overall.

If they accounted for only high mmr like they did for the high mmr kill rate then you would get a completely different number.

You're literally agreeing with what im saying the fact that some people only play one or two hours a week correlates why she has such a low kill rate over all and skull merchant has a high one skull merchant is much easier to play resulting in higher killrates across the board. Thanks for making my point though.

You made the argument that the data indicates otherwise (that the game isn't killer sided low/mid level and strongly survivor sided at the top level) but clearly the data doesn't take into account so many contributing factors. So presenting the data as the basis of your refutation is fallacious since the data itself does not tell the full story.

The fact is, the game is killer sided and the low/mid level of player skill and survivor sided at the top level. If you think otherwise, you are just plain wrong and anyone who plays this game at a high level knows this.

I feel like "DBD is survivor sided at high MMR" is just something people are parroting without it actually being the case.
Sure, it may be true for the top few loopers and content creators who no-life the game. But it's such a rare edge-case that it's not applicable to normal play, even in high MMRs, unless it's high MMR survivors VS a killer who's not at the same level.

Whether it is "parroting" or not, it is the objective truth of the matter.

Yes this does apply to "top few loopers and content creators who no-life the game" and it is rare because we are the top 1% who play the game more than 70 hours per week or 10 hours a day. I am a survivor main myself and I know this game is survivor sided at the very top and anyone who argues otherwise is simply wrong.

  • @Hexling said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3694445#Comment_3694445

She is she has the highest kill rate. Even with what your saying the data may be skewed due to people giving up and killing on hook that data is far less prevalent at high mmr because people know what they're doing and don't quit. So if any number is a decent indicator of what's going on its the raw data from the top mmr. Just because its not aligning with your narrative doesn't mean its not correct. The same can be said about nurse she is not the best killer in the game, most nurses suck so your chances of going against a good one are like 20 percent. Now if they showed the kill rates of top mmr nurses and top mmr skull merchants these kill rates would be completely different. Just as is the kill rate from solo duo 3 and swf man groups mmr and kill rates.

Yes and Nurse has the lowest kill rate because she is the worst killer, as the data also says so…. right? SMH

The fact is, most of the DBD player base are survivors and most of those are low skill to absolutely useless at the game. Many I suspect only play an hour or two every few weeks but the data would reflect that too, right?

  • Yes because raw numbers in DBD have always told the full story, which is why Skull Merchant is indeed the best killer in the game. After all that is what the data says, right?

  • DBD is killer sided in the low to mid skill levels and very survivor sided at the top level of play.

Much of what determines a win in pubic matches is RNG and who brings the sweatiest builds.

The majority of the DBD player base are low skill casual survivors and the game mostly balances around this, which makes perfect sense. If the game was actually killer sided at all levels the average player would have no chance

i thought about quitting and uninstalling the game, but then i remember how i used to love playing it and how fun it was before. I’m probably just obsessed with the game because i can’t stop playing even though it’s bad for my mental health.

First and last game today and it was a hacking trapper, died with 0 bp within less than 10 seconds and the game considered it a DC, i got a dc timer and decided to just close the game before i can play more and have my day ruined lol

I have had very long breaks from DBD with the longest being about 9 months, I recently returned after about 4 months or so off due to the Lights Out modifier which got me playing again.

Honestly though I would highly recommend stopping playing at this point as it sounds like you have hit the wall and that is perfectly normal. After a good break I find I come back with an enjoyment from the simple act of just playing rather than getting bitter over the tiniest things as I do when I am close to burning out again.

  • Not all matches are bad so I try to remember the good ones and let the bad ones go but if you are not having fun at all you should stop playing altogether.

So far today I have been hard tunnelled out of the two matches I have played so far, so not exactly a fun experience either. But I try to take the good with the bad otherwise I will not be having fun at all and I would quit myself.

  • I play Asia servers and I cant say I have seen any AKF bot killers but I guess it must be happening?

The Asian region seems to really like anything like this that can automate farming points in games
