  • Few hundred on a couple of survivors but I use them up and only keep a couple just so I have a few from each year.

I never understand people who hoard hundreds of them and refuse to use them but I see this quite a lot with some streamers. I don't get what the point in not using them is but whatever I guess

It's literally on their front page that it offers fps and small performance tweaks along with what you're saying lol how can you deny what they're advertising?

Lol… if you really think this will give anyone an advantage in DBD then I have a bridge to sell you. If you are already at the 120 FPS max cap then this will do nothing. If your PC is so weak that it will not play this game at decent FPS this program will NEVER give you enough FPS to matter and most certainly not enough to give you a competitive advantage as you seemed to imply. This program will not make an unplayable game playable and most certainly wont give you an FPS advantage where you didn't have one prior to installing it.

As I said, the only time ExitLag would give you an unfair advantage is if you play killer in another region where your ping is very high but players are already doing this in regions where they have to VPN to access DBD in the first place.

  • Sure, if you kill the bot that remains after a DC

This is exactly the problem right here because exit lag also gives you a fps boost and a ping reduction somehow along with doing that so you're going to have a ultra good connection and time playing the game while everyone else in the trial is high ping, it should be a cheat when you use a 3rd party to gain the upper hand like that it's not the same as having a ultra nice pc because you can go beyond that performance with exit lag and make it give you an advantage you wouldn't otherwise be able to gain without it, what I mean by that is if I have two of the very best possible pc builds in the world and ran exit lag on one it would outdo its counterpart.

How does ExitLag increase your FPS lol? I already have a constant 120 FPS (RTX 4090 etc) but even then I don't know how an app can make hardware perform better than it was already physically capable of?

All ExitLag does is find the fastest route to the server, if you have a crap connection that is an issue with your internet or how far you are from the server. I live very close to my local servers (in Sydney where they are) so get sub 15ms a lot of the time and I only use it to play survivor on other regions, which actually puts me at a significant disadvantage as I have such high ping I often get hit through pallets and windows and I cant greed.

The only thing I can agree is a problem is people who play killer in other regions as the high ping gives them a big advantage. Which is why so many people complain about Chinese killers in their region, as they all have to use a VPN to even access the game.

  • If you get ExitLag you can choose the server you get put in, I used it a lot to play NA west coast and Asia once the Syd servers reach degen hours and you get all the toxic morons etc (after 2 - 3am OCE tends to turn feral imo).

  • I am okay with Billy the main thing I hate is Lopro and it makes me just want to go next

  • Elodie, she is absolutely hideous imo. Haddie isn't far behind either and they are the last two I have to level up as I have avoided playing them as I cant stand looking at them

  • A single click option to randomise perks in normal matches

  • It was shockingly bad before the DS buff but recently I have noticed a marked decrease in shameless hard tunnelling. I also think part of it is that people playing killer want to have normal matches for the most part, so having someone DC at 5 gens because you tunnelled them is not ideal.

Anecdotal of course and regions may differ

  • Yeah I saw the Choy vid regarding this, makes me not want to play as I have a lot of money in my Steam account and having a filthy red ban mark on it would be deeply shameful and a stain on my account! Not good at all

  • There are many guides out there so I wont bother going on and on.

But as a former Nurse of several years myself the best way to learn to counter her is to actually play her and try and get someone decent yourself.

I frequently find I am by far the strongest survivor of my random solo queue teams when it comes to Nurse and its just because I understand what is difficult for Nurse to deal with.

Oh and remember, a truly Godlike Nurse (most aren't) is going to get a down on you eventually, so its just buying time until that inevitable down happens.

  • I suspect that the issue will be exacerbated by a lot of survivors just going next on first hook, as with SM. Though I cant obviously provide data on that

  • The game doesn't give you penalties when the server drops and kicks everyone and if your internet dropping is causing you to get penalties, that is between you and your ISP.

As JP mentioned above, when DC penalties are removed the DC's are out of control and the game becomes completely unplayable.

  • I think it depends on which role you are playing, I use ExitLag to play west coast NA (Los Angeles servers) from OCE but only as survivor, which puts me at a disadvantage as I can't greed anything and I often get hit 10 feet past a vault etc.

But if I was playing killer then yes I would consider it unfair as obviously this gives an unfair advantage

    I agree with this.

Letting someone escape after hard tunneling everyone else out is a lame attempt to gain sympathy points.

Letting someone out after playing nice (8 hook with everyone alive for example) is just being nice.

And letting the last survivor left behind by their team out even though you're losing is a very nice and friendly gesture. Very few people do this.

Agree, though I will say my problem is I am often TOO nice to truly be a killer main.

  • Its an ego thing generally, its a statement along the lines of 'see I won but I am actually a nice person' even if they played in the most toxic and scummy way to get to that point.

I have watched streamers do this; hard tunnel out one survivor in the most scummy way then pat themselves on the back as being a great guy because they let the last survivor go lol.

  • Yeah its a well known problem since the update to UE5… along with a million other glitches and bugs.

Hopefully a massive patch will be incoming soon as the game has so many issues at present.

  • Having spent years interacting with the DBD community I can safely say that I NEVER want voice chat in this game lol

  • Well… it's something for nothing since it is free. So I don't know how anyone can really complain about that

  • This isn't the "fixing things" that I believe concerns the vast majority of us who have wanted a QOL/health patch for literally years.

The biggest fix that concerns me is the mess the UE5 migration has caused, though to be clear I think moving to UE5 is an excellent move but it clearly came with a LOT of unexpected consequences.

I am not a new player so I don't care about pretty much anything the OP listed but what I think would help new players the most is reducing the grind and matchmaking that ensures they aren't put with very experienced players, as that isn't fun for anyone.

  • Not been having fun myself as a long term player, so I am taking a break. I paid for the premium rift so I really should be value out of it but I just cant bring myself to play at present.

Fun is subjective though so I cant claim my feelings are a true representation of the game. But as a survivor I just kept getting killers I really hate light Knight, Trickster, SM and Twins and after the Twins update and all the issues with the UE5 upgrade I feel even less motived to play.

I am looking forward to the custom game mode though and will probably come back to try that… so I wish they would hurry up with that.

  • Not really, the thing is the game was very much survivor sided for many years and they have done a lot to make it fairer for killers.

I do think some killer builds can be problematic, particularly stacking 3-4 gen perks on high tier killers etc. But overall the game is a lot fairer to killers than it was in the past.

Just try playing lower tier killers against decent survivors and tell me about how killers are too strong.

  • Absolute nonsense.

I am a survivor main with over 4k hours and I never use Adrenaline and the nerf means nothing to me at all. Adren is still a strong perk either way and the reasons I personally am taking a break have literally nothing to do with Adren (more to do with Twins, server rubber banding issues etc).

  • DC penalties come with downsides, such as the obvious problem of team mates killing themselves on first hook to avoid penalties, where if they DC'd you'd at least get a bot.

But on the occasions where they have had to remove DC penalties the game became pretty much unplayable as people DC'd constantly for reasons that were so petty it was actually hard to figure out why they were quitting.

  • I wish… I would happily wait longer for a match if I could have a block list of players I never want to verse or be teamed with.

    Sadly this will never happen

  • No it isn't, this is just cope and attempting to justify playing in a way that inflicts misery on the other side.

Survivors who cant loop will get better after hundreds, if not thousands of hours in game. Being tunnelled every match makes people leave the game altogether, well before they have the time to get better at the game.

Streamers aren't the be all and end all of the state of the game but I will say I see it time and time again where I watch some low level streamer get tunnelled repeatedly and you know what they do? They close DBD and play something else as being tunnelled constantly is a negative experience.

How this is good for the game long term is beyond me.

  • So many seem to misunderstand the purpose of wiggling but despite this being explained year after year people still make these complaints, so I pretty much give up trying to argue it.

But when I play killer there are so many times where it feels like I barely make the nearest hook and especially on maps like Meat Plant where even getting to a hook on the bottom level can be confusing as hell at times.

Wiggling is fine and still serves its intended purpose

  • I think gen speeds are fine for top tier killers but they can feel very fast for the lower tier killers who don't have strong chase ability so they aren't getting downs one after another. Its why I feel like stacking gen perks as Blight or Nurse feels very cheap, while I can understand it if you're playing Bubba or Trapper etc

The problem is that doing gens is the most boring part of DBD, so making them take any longer does not feel like a great solution for low tier killers.

  • Twins update is completely broken lol… don't know in what universe this is good?!

I am just not going to play the game until they fix this as being able to recall Victor every 10 seconds for pretty much unavoidable hits is madness. They need to kill switch this killer until they fix them (wish they would permanently kill switch them tbh).

  • As a survivor main for me the biggest issue on the survivor side at present is Background Player, the perk is broken and incredibly unfair. Especially when combined with the fact you can blind with flashbangs even when the killers face is planted into a wall

Exhaustion perks are always going to cause some degree of frustration but are all in a lot better place these days, particularly DH.

As far as toxicity with clicky click, bagging and not leaving when the match is over etc, I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that some people are simply immature and suck to deal with and this isn't going to change.

On the topic of fun, I find Scratched Mirror Myers being one of the most fun killer builds to both play and verse. I genuinely wish that BHVR went back to the more scary roots of DBD, and brought some genuine tension back into the game.

    Jumpscares are incredibly fun.

I would definitely appreciate more scare focused game play than the looping game it turned into.

That being said, as much as I like Myers and I do like Myers, I find SM Myers quite tedious to verse after going against it countless times over the years. But I would still take that over a single Knight, Trickster, SM or basement Trapper/Hag game

Hopefully they do introduce more scary modes into the game though, I could very much be behind that

  • Trickster, SM or Knight for me…

  • I no longer care if I 'win' or not, I care that I had fun and left the match feeling like it was worth playing

That being said, I have won matches but the process has not been fun as the survivors are annoying and toxic and aren't actually playing for the objective but more how much they can make the game miserable and frustrating for the killer.

So I guess to answer your question I would say why I won is more important to me than the fact I won.

  • @kosaba11 said:

It's been said, time and again, but a lot of these killers are just unfun to play against, either because their basic design is overpowered, or perks from other killers make them overpowered. For me, personally, I hate, with a burning passion, playing against Twins, Wraith, Deathslinger, Freddy, Doctor, Blight, Dredge, and Chucky. They are so unbelievably unfun to play against.

That's not to say there aren't killers I've never won against that I don't hate facing - like Oni. I can't seem to survive against him, but he's not particularly unfun for me. And Ghostface, the only killer that has actually jumpscared me. Hardly survive against him, but he's not particularly unfun.

Now, I'm not saying they should be nerfed - though I do think some are over tuned and should be looked at, despite what the community feels. Like Wraith. I know he's considered weak by the community, but he's really not.

Anyway, I made this to ask the community which killers ya'll absolutely hate playing against.

"Fun" is so subjective and while I may not love all of these killers you listed, to me many of these either don't bother me or are kinda fun.

I personally despise Trickster, Twins, Knight, SM and Chucky with Plague and Pinhead being annoying but just bearable.

If I could possibly dodge these killers and wait an extra 10 minutes in queue I would do so but I cant objectively say they are 'unfun' (okay maybe SM and Knight are) as these are just my personal opinions.

  • Only thing I think that is really broken on the survivor side is BGP but I don't really have the energy to complain about it. I just wont play killer until it is nerfed

  • Why is Plague in the same tier as Blight and Nurse?!

Nurse is great at 1v1 chases but since her range and recharge addon nerfs her map mobility is pretty awful now and every mistake is incredibly punishing.

I don't think Nurse needs or can take further nerfing, it would have to be a complete rework of her power and as a former Nurse main I am fine with that. I do think her power kind of breaks the game and continues to present issues with balancing the whole game for killers but Nurse isn't the easy 4k machine she once was.

I would unironically rate Billy as a stronger killer now.

  • Revert the changes and take it back to stacks for BP

  • I was playing more than 80-100 hours per week (yes I have a full time job too lol) up until last week where I finally got burned out and needed a break. I am also waiting for the Ultimate Weapon changes to go live as that perk was starting to drive me insane and I was not having fun and finding myself DCing/going next too often which isn't fair on anyone else.

I have been messing around with trying different builds with just bots and will wait until the update goes live before I play live matches again.

  • @Krazzik said:

Background Player is the major issue I'd say, though flashbangs shouldn't be able to blind killers facing a wall.

Background Player existing means it's no longer enough to just chase a flashlight user away before picking up, you pretty much have to just slug the person you downed and go after the other survivor.

    This is the correct response.

I am a flashbang enjoyer myself, particularly Head On into Flashbang as it just makes me laugh. But they should not work when killers are facing walls as there is absolutely no way to outplay that when combined with BGP.

The only other option (other than LB) is to tunnel out every BGP using survivor but you often find out the hard way that they are running it.

I don't feel killers should feel like LB is now mandatory but I can totally understand why some do after experiencing the misery of a full BGP using Flashbang/flashlight squad

  • I actually love Clown but his biggest issue is he has no map mobility and therefore no pressure. His chase is strong but he lack the mobility of killers like… Blight.

  • I don't condone the survivors childish conduct but I will say I view Invocation as throwing the game for your team… so I will sometimes join in rather than pack a tantrum. But only as I view the match as pretty much lost when a team mate uses this perk in solo queue, so I have nothing to lose by joining in

    Dying light and thanatophonia.

    Game over.

Gotta say I never really rated Thana, as a survivor I never think 'oh no the killer has Thana' it is more of a roll of the eyes when I get yet another Thana Legion as it just means a drawn out tedious match most of the time

How are the forums not killer sided when almost every new thread is "As killer, X" or "survivors have too much Y." On top of that, when anyone has an opinion that would favor survivor, at least 10 killer mains come out of the woodwork to shoot it down. That's about as killer sided as you can get while still allowing survivor players on the forums.

    Boons are not OP lol.

You didn't read: boons WERE OP, I stated "boons needed nerfing" with COH in particular being a big issue. If you think old COH was okay, well I don't think there is any reasoning with you.

I see just as much whining from survivors as I see from killers and the other claim was that BHVR are killer sided, when clearly they are not since the majority of their customers are the typical low kill casual survivor player. This should be obvious by the fact it is an asymmetrical game and pleasing the minority of your player base is just bad business.

As a survivor main of over 4k hours I can say survivors needed nerfing and things like COH were very broken.

  • Extremely rarely but when a killer plays in a really fun way, or a really toxic way for that matter, I will sometimes rate how much fun I had.

It is far more common that I will give a player a thumbs up, I have particular respect for killers who will still not resort to tunnelling etc when they are clearly struggling in a match.

I also thumb up good and wholesome team mates

  • I take breaks but I have stopped playing many times with zero intention to return… yet here I am yet again.

This is the reason I say breaks rather than I am leaving the game - I have said I am done with DBD so many times but I always seem to come back. Though like other games there will be a time when this break is the final permanent break and I will never return.

I think breaks are only helpful if they are months rather than days or weeks long.

  • I am the same, I didn't in the past but it got worse as the years have gone by.

I don't really play killer anymore, at least not as much as I would like to as it makes me stressed and anxious too so I cant see the point if it is not an enjoyable experience.

I have not yet found a way to overcome the anxiety killer creates for me either

I again will urge you to actually look up the definition of a strawman, because based on that response, you still don't know what it means. Also the person who responded to you was pointing out a double standard in the community based on the situation you described, it doesn't mean you necessarily hold to it.

If the Killer is picking up in a lose-lose situation, that is a skill issue. Flashbang plays have to be done within 12 meters of a pickup, flashlights require you to be even closer in most cases. A killer can see scratch marks or hear running from that distance very easily. It is a skill issue if the Killer suspects the other side to make a play, and not adjust their strategy accordingly.

They were attempting to make an argument based on arguments I had not made, in other words a strawman.

I don't hold a double standard here as I see faults on both sides, I am not making a one sided argument.

You clearly don't play killer if you think this is a killer skill issue, BGP can put you in situations where you literally cannot pick up and the only out is the survivors screwing up the timing, which they admittedly do.

  • I don't think the forum or BHVR are killer sided, survivors are the majority of the player base/customers in this game.

Sorry but as a survivor main myself I have to say boons needed nerfing, flashlights take far less skill than ever, some loops are now too weak for sure but too many strong loops will link into each other and medkits allowing up to 3 fast heals for a single survivor was absolutely crazy. Honestly survivors needed a nerf but some problems have come with that. Flashbangs and flashlights combined with BGP SWF's is just plain broken.

Anti loop killers are not fun, stacking 3-4 slowdowns is not fun (though I understand why some resort to this). I do think tunnelling is too easy and rewards killers too much. Killers can and always will be able to take matches in a very negative direction should they choose to play in an unfun way. There more strategies become a negative problem, the more measures like anti-camp will be introduced.

What is the incentive to stay in matches like that? Well in all honesty I personally feel when someone is that desperate to win I would rather move on to the next match as my incentive is fun and a sweating tunnelling/camping killer is not fun.

  • An asymmetric game can never truly be balanced by its inherent design and even more so when it is RNG based.

However can you compete in it? Sure, so long as you understand it will never truly be balanced.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 49
