Blindness is largely an irritant than anything but I think Windows users will hate it the most since they cant see pallets/windows (unless that changed?).

You seem to misunderstand.
Pig is the only killer in the game that does NOT want to tunnel. If the pigs you meet do that, they play a lot less efficient than the could.
Yeah I never understand the mentality of someone who plays Pig only to tunnel someone with a headtrap on lol. Why would you waste time chasing the one player who is probably not going to further the gen objective because you put a trap on them lol?!
That is how I know I am not playing against the smartest cookie
-
I despise Franklin's, I think it would be better to rework it so it perhaps disables an item for 30 - 60 seconds or something, since I suspect many killers bring it because of flashlights so it would still serve its purpose.
I get it though OP, Franklin's has made me want to just go next many times, it is one of the most obnoxious perks on par with Knockout.

" I never claimed this will 100% work for every ragequitter that has ever existed" - it wont work for anyone who truly wants out of the match. Why do you people not understand this lol?!Why don't people understand that to improve something doesn't require it to become perfect?
Never said anything about it being perfect, I implied it was completely redundant and wont fix anything.

Trickster. I despise everything about him from his design to his music… I find his knife spam infuriating and versing him is just plain tedious. I wish I could dodge every single one of them

The result won’t be the same for everyone. There are people that ragequit specifically because there is a quick and easy way to ragequit, that bypasses the DC penalties.
And if we take away that quick and easy way to ragequit, that bypasses the DC penalty, then it would reduce the amount of people that are ragequitting in ways that bypass the DC penalty.
I don't really believe this, if people really want to rage quit they will and they still do as people DC every day I play DBD, the DC penalty doesn't deter them.
If someone really wants out a slight delay in getting out of a match is no deterrent as they want out so they will do anything they need to do to go next.
While I do think DC penalties should stay, as I do agree that when that is too easy they get out of control (as we have seen when DC penalties have been disabled) but I would prefer to address the reasons why people want out of matches as punishments don't seem to work.
Even then, there will always be matches where someone wants out for some inexplicable reason and unfortunately I don't think we can ever do anything about that.

I don’t think I’ve ever said anything about forcing people to play the game. I don’t know why you keep repeatedly mentioning this.
What I am saying is that it is currently way too quick and convenient to ragequit and bypass DC penalties, by purposely attempting self unhooks, then purposely failing the hook skill checks.
What I am saying is if those things are removed from hooks, it would be much more inconvenient to ragequit in ways that bypass the DC penalty, which would encourage some of the ragequitters to play the game instead.
And again, I never claimed this will 100% work for every ragequitter that has ever existed. No one is claiming that. It’s not a thing.
Sure… you can do that. But people STILL will not want to play the match. You don't have to say it, this is simply the way it is. It may make it more inconvenient but the end result will be the same.
" I never claimed this will 100% work for every ragequitter that has ever existed" - it wont work for anyone who truly wants out of the match. Why do you people not understand this lol?!

Luckily not actively participating in the game they readied up is literally bannable offense, what a great world we live in
The objective is to kick out those people from queing up for the game where any other people want to play, not to stop them from doing bannable offense
Anti-cheat isn't there to stop people from cheating, but rather to remove all those bad players, same principle can be applied here
Sure… but as Peanits himself said, they will just throw themselves at the killer anyway and you are back at the same issue.
Again, this will not work and it isn't like anti cheating because with cheating you have an obvious infraction. If someone say throws themselves at a killer, how do you then prove they were intending to throw rather than just being incredibly bad at the game? At that point you enter into the realm of clairvoyance…
Again, you cant make people play matches they don't want to and unfortunately BHVR cant fix this other than removing common reasons people want to go next (killers like SM) or providing incentives to actually play matches out.

@appleas said:
No idea who started this "You can't force people to play the game" trend but if they feel forced to play, they shouldn't even be queuing in the first place.
Why should one person's feelings be prioritized and coddled while the remaining players are left to pick up the pieces?Sure, they should not queue yet they do.
So you cant say all you want about how they should not be coddled and shake your fist angrily at the sky… and they still wont want to play some matches. It isn't a trend, it is just reality not advocacy of this.

Everything is going up, thank our incompetent politicians globally who keep printing more money out of thin air….
Honestly if the price is an issue, just wait for sales as they often go for ~half price. Just have to be patient

The DC penalties literally help reduce ragequitting, even though “you can’t force people to play the game”.
And if DC penalties help reduce ragequitting, then there are other things that can help reduce ragequitting.
Therefore, BHVR should try things like changing the hook rules, to remove not-guaranteed self unhooks, and remove skill checks from hooks.
And the rules can be adjusted. For example, maybe it is ok for 2nd stage hooks to have skill checks if only 2 survivors are left. And it’s certainly ok for guaranteed self unhooks to happen, like from the deliverance perk and the anti-face camp mechanic.
No, DC penalties do not force people to play the game, they just make them find other ways to not participate in the match so they can avoid DC penalties.
You can change all the rules and hook mechanics you want, you STILL will not be able to make someone want to actively participate in a match they don't want to be in.
I am not advocating for them either, I just do not see how you cant see it is an exercise in extreme futility regardless of what mechanics you change?!

That's literally bannable and pretty obvious unlike self unhooking, definitely much better
If they don't do that they will just run to the killer… again, you cant make other people actively participate in anything they want out of. But hey whatever, everyone is welcome to pursue futility and expect it to have results… but it wont.

So basically they can remove hook suicide and force people to DC and take penalty instead, great
But they wont though, they will just AFK and tab out instead to avoid it. An inconvenience sure but I can tell you, I don't think people really care if they want out that bad

You can’t force killers to stop facecamping, but BhVR still made an anti facecamp mechanic. You can’t force killers to stop making 3-gens, but BHVR still made an anti 3-gen mechanic.
Similarity, you can’t stop survivors from ragequitting, but BHVR can still implement an anti ragequitting mechanic.
Suggestions on how you make another human play out a match they don't want to play? You can add all the mechanics you want to but if someone does not want to participate, there is literally nothing you can do to stop that.
You can however create mechanics to deter someone from actively participating in ways that negatively effect the game for others, you can do this when people refuse to participate.
-
As Peanits said, you cant force people to stay in matches they don't want to stay in no matter what you do.
I honestly don't see how they can fix this
-
Oh thank goodness they're removing them, I find them extremely irritating. I feel like I have to clear them by doing tedious store clicking that I really don't want to do.
-
"Fun" is completely subjective, so this is just an opinion piece/rant for certain.
Sometimes I have 'fun' as survivor, other times I am not having fun so I stop playing DBD, sometimes I stop playing for many months on end.
If you personally are not having fun then stop playing and come back later if you feel like it.
-
@Mooks said:
you can get rid of them by going into the store and click on/view all the individual pieces for that character that’s been added newly to the store. And dont forget to also view the whole outfit and not only the individual pieces.
As to why… well… hate to say it as I don’t like people implying BHVR only does something because of it but in this case it fits..
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/86CVORYTZDGA/img-8290.jpeg
Ahhh I see… well FML I guess I am forced to visit the store to look at stuff I don't want to get rid of them :/
-
I would not mind this being an option, I have had bad experiences with SWF's doing exactly this. The last time I ran Distortion (I never really run it) they took exception to me using this perk and encouraged team mates to sand bag me and get me killed then abused me end game - for using a perk. It wasn't like I was hiding or doing nothing either…
-
With all due respect, you aren't "being nice" you are simply giving up because you got wrecked by the survivors - which is fine as we all get absolutely stomped at times and just want to move on.
That being said I do get your complaint and as a survivor main who has played a lot of killer I can empathise so personally I will just leave so you can go to the next match. However I do think some just want extra BP and when a killer gives up and goes AFK I will also get in a few free blinds before finishing gens and leaving.
I don't think most are being toxic
-
Improved with not having a massive dead zone mid map as it was but I feel that perhaps it went a bit too killer sided with how much the size has been reduced. I don't enjoy this map much but it is far from my most hated (Toba, Nostromo and Hawkins take that prize for me).

I really dislike their direction as mainly killer player. It is so easy to win and therefore boring. I’ve lost a lot of interest in playing the game, because of this.
I really can‘t understand all those people who still call this game survivor sided. I don‘t even use slowdown anymore, because it is overkill.
I rarely touch survivor anymore, because of how unfair maps have become and are becoming for survivors.
Well the game was extremely survivor sided in the past and at the top level it still is, though the majority of the player base are nowhere near the top as far as skill goes. So now I would actually consider it slightly killer sided now and on certain maps very killer sided.
I realised how much the balance has shifted when I played today and had a challenge to escape and I wanted adept for Lara and it took quite a while to actually get it. Sure, I had the usual team mates giving up first hook and a DC at 5 gens etc but it still took hours to actually get a single escape. Not like I am a new player either (4.5k hours between accounts - 4.2k on my main).
-
I am not a fan but not overly concerned either.
What I never understand is why all these companies and companies like Microsoft or social media companies etc, all make UI changes to fix things that aren't broken as if they do it just for the sake of doing it.
I wish they would leave things alone and fix issues that actually matter
-
I absolutely despise the Toba Landing and Nostromo maps for the very reason they added bizarre and awkward tiles to them. I have only played a few matches today but have experienced a few very odd tiles that may have a pallet but they border on pointless due to their design.
I actually really like the aesthetic of Toba and Nostromo but the tiles make me hate these maps with a passion and now they are starting to do this with other maps.
I don't know how many more bad design decisions I can handle before I call it quits for good
-
Very happy thank you, I hated loading in to see the killer is Knight so hopefully that will be rarer after this. Now if they could just kill off Trickster and SM too…
-
No but inevitably I will buy her as I do every DLC this game releases.
More keen on the game mode as the game is feeling very stale again for me so it will be nice to have something different

This isn't a problem if you weren't playing dbd in a chronic way. New players do not have this issue.
The game is 8 years old… most players are not new players and every month they have 2 million to spend every 13th of that month. That is not including all BP earned throughout the month…
-
I do wish I could just click once to auto spend all BP automatically as while they did massively improve how long it takes to spend BP, it is still tedious and takes too long still imo
-
Thank you, very helpful
-
It may be a little bit too killer sided now but it is on the right track, just needs a few adjustments
-
Rose Marigold as I just like that cosmetic for some reason and also Meg… I always like Meg and the stereotype surrounding 'Meg-heads' (Meg is my main).
-
Honestly… this is mostly a skill issue on the survivor side. Survivor main myself btw

Unfortunately they would still bring those perks + free base kit corrupt.
Yeah and that would be my only real objection, I would like to see some compensation if this did happen
-
They are all just skins of course but I find Elodie and Haddie to be particularly offensive to my eyes and Elodie also assaults my ears with her weird tone during pain grunts etc
I don't mind the rest of them though, just those two
-
I mean, even as a survivor main I would not entirely be against this. Early game is pretty crucial for killer and slowing it down even a small bit can be a massive help.
I would rather this than any more literal regression perks like Jolt or Pain Res, as I find getting a gen I am working on constantly regressed absolutely infuriating at times and I would ultimately like to see far less of this rage inducing mechanic. Doing a tedious task like gen repairs over and over on the same gen is not my idea of fun
-
Gotta admit I totally forgot this is a thing since I never really visit the store. Thanks!

It changes alot. At the moment it'd be Skull Merchant, Trickster, and Pinhead. I don't mind the latter in general, it's just that he's miserable to face in solo queue because of how many survivors avoid doing the box. I usually end up doing it most of the time so am just always in chase. When I have a team that takes turns then I don't mind facing Pinhead so much.
Yeah the chain hunt thingy is PAINFUL and very annoying, otherwise I don't mind PH as much as I used to. There are far worse killers imo
-
I will play any I feel like but the ones I really don't enjoy playing are probably Billy, SM and GF
-
Trickster, SM, Twins and Knight are all killers I despise with a passion.
I find Legion tedious as well as Plague and I cant stand GF due to his ridiculous break out mechanic where if you don't look at him right you still get exposed.
-
I don't really see that combo but there is definitely a lot of aura reading and I have considered running Distortion again in every match. I stopped using it as it felt a bit crutch like for me as I was relying on it a bit too much… but with all the aura reading perks/addons these days I am starting to think I should go back to using it as it is such a disadvantage not having it.
-
I have to add to this to say that while using ExitLag helps me ensure my ping is good, I unfortunately cannot so anything to avoid the influx of extremely high ping Asian players that I now get matched with.
I can handle having to pre-drop and not greed as survivor when my ping is high but there is nothing I can do to play around killers with insanely high ping that I cant read as hits are so inconsistent to the point of actually being unfair.
I feel OCE players really are being screwed by this change and I see why so many are unhappy
-
It is annoying, I noticed that despite being in Sydney and as close to the OCE servers as I can be, they seem to sometimes send me to Asian servers with very high ping. I have to use ExitLag to ensure I get Syd servers otherwise it is very random where I get routed to.
Not ideal at all
-
The game was ridiculously survivor sided in the past but to the devs credit they have done a huge amount to correct that imbalance.
The thing is though, the game is asymmetrical so it will ALWAYS be imbalanced to one side or another and it will always need corrections as new metas arise and new perks/killers/maps get added that have unexpected consequences.
As a survivor main I am okay with the current state
-
It is frustrating but honestly I barely care anymore as there can be so many reasons people give up.
Sure some will just give up for the most absurd reasons but I know things like getting the same killer back to back to back, or a killer that immediately tunnels at 5 gens all make me just want to move on to the next match.
I might be weird and in the minority but I don't particularly care… if someone doesn't want to play a match there isn't much I can do so meh, next match will hopefully be better
-
I mean, survivors are only just skins really so if like me you could not care less about their lore then being overlooked is nothing but personal preference. Though I do think the female survivors with small stature like Nancy or Feng do feel noticeably nimble to play… it could just be placebo but I feel like they just feel 'good' to play compared to the larger/male survs
-
They have added just about every character you could imagine so with 4 chapters every year I am sure they will eventually get to Uncharted
-
Escape or double pip for survivor and a 3k for killer.
-
Best advice I can give other than the countless hours of videos and usual tips and tricks others give is to actually play her yourself. Because I mained Nurse for years I understand her and I am frequently the only one they give up on out of my solo queue team mates.
Also something people forget is that splitting up, stealth and holding W are all really painful for Nurse, as she doesn't have that much map mobility and she cant waste time searching due to slow walking speed and with no double recharge anymore if you hold W at the right time they have a hell of a time catching up if you can force a missed blink.

You don't think lowering your ping to a level you wouldn't otherwise have isn't an advantage? You can try and call me dumb and offer to sell me a bridge all you want I understand how fps works theyre simply advertising that , but when I can have access to like 10-15 ping and nobody else in the lobby can how is that not an advantage? You're boosting a connection for yourself with the help of a third party and it will affect the outcome of every interaction you have in the game it literally can make you have the ability to greed loops longer and get hits as a killer you wouldn't have been able to hit otherwise, I don't understand how you don't call that in itself an advantage when ping in this game matters a whole lot on whether you got certain interactions registering properly
I don't use ExitLag for my local server(s), I get low ping because I live near the server not because I am using ExitLag.
I use ExitLag purely to play on other servers, mostly NA west coast so (as previously stated) I don't have to play when OCE turns feral in the early hours of the morning, also when queues are quiet in OCE.
