I'm not being overly dramatic, I'm simply making a point.

So are you saying that there isn't a single perk, add-on or offering that you might have a problem with?

And it's interesting that scummy killer tactics are not ok but scummy survivor tactics are fine.

A scummy survivor tactic? Because they are using a single use perk? What a monster that survivor is! I wonder if killers would enjoy having single use perks. BBQ only works on first hook. Ruin only works on the first gen it is applied to. I guarantee that would cause a great deal of moaning from people who only play killer but STILL they moan that a survivor has a single use perk.

A killer finds a lobby instantly, there is no queue. A killer gets to spend the entire time in a game, nothing removes them from it. A survivor on the other hand has to queue for 10mins and then potentially get a killer who camps and tunnels them out of the game in next to no time. Yet, you think that behaviour is fine and isnt scummy in the slightest. Nothing a survivor can do takes the killer out of the game and forces them back in to a queue for 10mins.

The only add on that I think is completely stupid is the iridescent head add on for the huntress. It is always paired with the belt add on for 3 instadown attempts and it works the same every time. Get up close to a survivor and down them in one. Zero skill to it. If there was a range limit on the insta down I wouldn't care about that add on either.

As for perks not a single perk bothers me, no offerings bother me and the aforementioned 1 add on I think is BS but at the same time. I see the game as a game and not some competitive life or death situation so I shrug it off.

Lol you are taking things too literal.

Replace abusive with " as not intended"

So if those perks are used in a manner that was not intended in it's original design, the game ceases to be fun.

I am being literal to point 9ut how overly dramatic your wording and feelings about a perk are. Where is the description of what is allowed with all perks and what isn't?

There isn't one, because a perk can be used however the person who used the slot for it wants. I don't tell a killer what perks he can or can't use, nor do I say how he uses them. Yet as a killer you want to be able to tell a survivor how and when they can use their perks. The only behaviours in this game that I think are scummy and pathetic are camping and tunnelling. Other than that use whatever perks you want. Don't care.

If you want to down someone who has just been unhooked, that's fine too. It becomes scummy when you pick them up and put them back on the hook even though it makee more sense to leave them and chase someone else because then someone has to come and heal them off the floor but most killers can't see this for some reason.

You are right, it is a game and games should be fun. If certain mechanics in a game gets abused then it ceases to be fun.

I don't have an issue with DS or bt if they are used as they should be. But if they get used in an abusive manner then it becomes unfun.

Abusive??? Give yourself a shake and wake up.

    abusive

    /əˈbjuːsɪv/

    adjective

    1.

    extremely offensive and insulting.

"the goalkeeper was sent off for using abusive language"

    2.

engaging in or characterized by habitual violence and cruelty.

If you ever feel that either of those 2 definitions of "abusive" apply to the use of a perk in a game. Switch the game off, go outside and get some air.

First off, I want to thank you for actually taking the time and patience to write up some civil counter-points. This forum needs more people like you.

Now onto addressing your actual arguments.

    1) It's core design is to counter tunnelling, that we can't deny. It's supposed to punish a Killer if they pursue a player who was recently unhooked.

Here is the main reason why I loathe DS on a conceptual level.

As a killer, if someone is farmed right in front of me and I want to win, I am going to down the farmed person. Not only are they already injured, but they're now 1 hook closer to death. For my objective to be completed in the most efficient way possible I have to target them.

DS punishes me for doing my job efficiently.

I think we can all agree that getting camped, farmed, and tunnelled sucks and is generally boring to have happen. But adding in a free-escape perk doesn't fix the main issue as to why these actions happen in the first place.

    2) It unintentionally counters camping. It's not designed to counter camping, but it will help a Survivor to escape from a camped situation.

Agreed. I only brought this up because I saw other people use this as an argument.

    3) You're looking at this from the wrong angle. You ask "Why should the Killer be punished for Survivor mistakes?", but ignore "Why should the unhooked Survivor be punished for another Survivor's mistake?".

But that's the thing, survivors shouldn't be seen as singular, they should be seen as a collective.

A farmer unhooking in the killer's face is harming themselves just as much as the team mate they're dooming. Losing a fellow survivors means there's 1 less person to distract or do gens, drastically reducing everyone else's chance for survival.

If a survivor is un-safely unhooked, every other survivor is punished because it is their job to work together as a team. If one of them suffers, they all suffer.

I've already stated how I want communication added in so solo players can better coordinate and allow the game to be better balanced around a team of survivors rather than 4 randoms.

    4) The person who posted that statement is an idiot.

    Yep.

    5) There is a drawback of having to be hooked to activate it (don't know why this is glossed over). A Killer equivalent perk would be MYC.

Balance changes are needed, and once applied the Locker + DS combo won't be an issue.

But the "drawback" only activates when the survivor makes a mistake that leads them to getting hooked.

MYC activates only after the killer has played efficiently. DS activates when the survivor has played poorly.

    6) It punishes the Survivor for doing anything else other than being chased.

Like I said, this would help fix DS being used in the early game. But after the gates are open it goes right back to punishing the killer for playing efficiently. Because once they are open, what else are you going to do but be chased?

    7) The statement misses some detail. If you can catch the Survivor easily, eat the stun. If not, chase someone else. Eating the stun is a valid option, but only against some Survivors.

At no point during a game should a player be punished for performing well.

If the killer manages to find, hit and down a survivor 30 seconds after they were unhooked, why should they then be forced to either give them a free escape or slug them for the remaining 30 seconds?

I'll admit that slugging them still allows for pressure to be applied on gens and other survivors, but not only is it boring for the survivor, it still isn't as effective as putting them back on hook, since that is the fastest way to both kill survivors and apply pressure.

There's also the chance that they are running Unbreakable, which completely stunts the killer's game momentum even though they played well.

    8) DS needs some balance changes, most of the community agrees on that.

At this point I honestly don't know how much of the community even cares at this point. I've seen my fair share of players that seem to be using a version of dbd from an alternate reality, and have little to no understanding of how the game is played.

Regardless, I hope those that do care are sane enough to agree with this.

First off referring to the game as a "Job" you don't have a job in the game, you're playing a game, please try and remember that.

You don't go for the unhooked survivor because it is efficient, you go for the unhooked survivor because it is easier, please use accurate wording instead of trying to dress up your poor plays as a tactic. When you make the choice to go for the unhooked then you have made the assessment that they may have BT and on top of that they may have DS but STILL you go for what you have perceived as the easy option and then when you get stopped by a perk you come here to cry about it being unfair

"Adding in a free escape doesn't address the issue". This escape is literally there because playing games against killers like you is boring as #########. They have put in Borrowed Time and DS to assist with the desperate camping/tunnelling that a large number of killer players use. Even more laughable is players do this when there are still 5 gens to go.

I can see a predictable "standard survivor main" comment coming so I'll point out I play both sides in red ranks. I have never camped and never tunnelled. It is a game and when you do either of those things you're removing the fun from a game from the person you have done it to, which in turn will push people away from the game for good.

The idea of it being a "Free escape" in EGC is also dumb. If by free you mean the survivors have already done all of their work in the trial and you haven't managed to stop them then yes that is "free" but let's be honest all this is aimed at is the fact you think you should be allowed to cling on to this desperate camped kill in EGC because you have lost and it will make you feel better. The alternative is, remind yourself that you're playing a game and move on to the next round.

The community on this game is grotesque. The us vs them mentality and the desperate crying on the forums about ANYTHING the side you don't play has is so depressingly sad. IT'S A GAME!!!!

The only people who are even remotely normal are the ones who play both sides and just see it as a casual game to have fun on. They should bring in a quota of you must play at least 33% of both sides at least that way the killer mains would stop crying about every single perk and item survivors have and survivor mains can stop moaning about NOED.

Final comment just to really try and hammer the point home- IT. IS. A. GAME

  • @thrawn3054 said:

It's just silly fun. I haven't had anyone try yet sadly. Admittedly it's not for everyone. Which is fine. But I think we need more things like it in this game. It might get people to remember this is just a game and have more fun again.

    Wait...... this is a game?

  • Except I play both sides. I don't use any of those perks either but yes, keep telling yourself that only people who main survivor can see that killer mains constantly cry about every single survivor perk.

They're single use. If you can 't cope with that then cry elsewhere. I'm bored of hearing it.

  • These are single use perks, you can only use DS once, you can only use unbreakable once, Adrenaline activates once if all the work gets done. Dead hard is an exhaustion perk and can only be used once, when injured per 40 seconds or whatever the cooldown is. The slowdown perks for killers were not single use. That is the difference.

  • I ######### love that you found this. I was so sick of cry babies claiming it was never intended to be part of the game and it was added because survivors cried about not having it. I have previously used the argument that there was no way they created and implemented SWF within a month of release without any previous planning for it but still got the BS of it not being intended from moaning killers.

As for SWF always being strong. Not at all. I play with a couple of people semi regularly who are terrible at the game. We have voice comms and still they have a survival rate of around 20%. Just because you're in SWF doesn't mean you are instantly good and having that kind of player on your team pulls others down too. Some people just play with their friends to have a chat and a laugh. Not everyone is there to be a sweaty try hard. I generally see that behaviour from people who only play killer.

    You are missing the point.

    1. Surviviors have 4 times higher chance of bringing map offering
    2. There are at least 5 survivior sided maps, but not even one killer sided. If we talk about specific killers, then maybe The Game, because its good on stealth killers.

I'm not missing any point you said just 1 survivor needs to pick a survivor sided map. Like that would trump the killer playing their map. It wouldn't. You just want to moan about how the killer can't choose the map every time and you think they should and the reason for that is "because you want to". Even the justification of saying there are 5 survivor sided maps is crap. Why should it always be one sides decision on what map is played? It shouldn't be. You can't see that because you want to play a killer sided map every game because unless 4k is handed to you otherwise you'll scream and scream and scream until you get your way.

Killer mains always cry about how they want balance but what they actually want is everything to benefit them. They wouldn't accept actual balance in any shape or form.

I want a map offering for the tutorial map then I’d be happy lol

Under the idea of this thread that only killers should be allowed to pick maps I can imagine that map would be every single game haha and you'd still get killers writing ez in the after game chat like they did something amazing.

  • Map offerings are very easy to come across. Especially if you main one killer character. You get a ton of points every round because of BBQ. There would never be a shortage of maps that you favour.

It doesn't take 1 survivor to get a survivor sides map at all. If one survivor plays a map they have the same chance as you with your map. You seem to think it is fair that a killer should be able to constantly play the map they favour and survivor should be banned from ever choosing a map because it isn't fair????? That is what pushes you in my mind to be a killer main because you want everything to be on your terms.

Your killer, your map, your add ons etc survivor just has to take what they are given by the all powerful and "fair" killer player.

Spoke with a nurse who DCd who offered a small map and lost to a big map a survivor had burnt.

After nerfs I can see why a console nurse wouldn't have fun in the corn fields, makes me wonder if killers should only have map offerings as the match was already won especially the state of the game at the moment

Only killers should have map offerings???? So half the maps would never be seen. Just endless indoor maps as most killers do better on those. What a great unbiased idea :-/

Killers in this game wont be happy until the only thing available to survivors on the bloodweb is no mither(although they would want the noise reduction nerfed) and green keys. Nothing else ever is allowed on the bloodweb. Meanwhile their bloodwebs are overflowing with moris, map offerings, add ons and perks.

  • Why would a window block quicker when it is SWF? How would them being SWF need to stop them vaulting a window? Why would they need less pallets because they are SWF? It is just a really odd demand. Being SWF doesn't mean they can run you better.

There are a lot of SWF groups out there who are just playing for fun with a wide range of ranks and abilities who get beat by killers regularly. Those people should be punished because sometimes you come up against a good co-ordinated team?

  • I would rather survivors aren't left with only useless items because people who only play killer moan constantly about anything a survivor has.

Commodious toolbox going from 180 charges to 32 and you think that is reasonable?

As I have said in other posts let's start treating killers add ons and perks the same and see if killers are still so pleased with themselves. BBQ only shows you auras the first time you hook each survivor once you have your 4 tokens you're on your own.

The nurse can only blink tremendous distance 5 times and then it reverts to normal.

Trapper can only have 4 of his traps set themselves.

Hag can only have her traps not alert people 3 times in a game.

Seems fair doesn't it for the expense of those add ons? No? Then why is it fair to put everything a survivor buys in the toilet?

  • @SquirrelKnight said:

People take 4 a lot mire than youd think. Especially if solo cause you cant rely on ppl

Absolute bullshit. I play both sides of the game and I have seen it a handful of times ever.

    @Bingbongbong said:

Not useless but they have less of an impact now, It was needed. Even without toolboxes you can finish gens incredibly fast, Better them nerfed than removed entirely.

They pretty much have been removed. They do next to nothing. We all knew they would get reduced because people who only play killer kept crying about them but the level that they have been nerfed to is beyond a joke. If a nerf of that magnitude happened to a killer's ability or add ons there would be endless tears on here about how the game was ruined. Look what happened when ruin got changed.

  • It uses up a standard toolbox as well now so having it on there does the quarter of a gen but then the toolbox will be all gone. So it is literally quarter of a gen on a toolbox with the rubbish 16 charges at the cost of 11,000 BP. It isn't overpowered in the slightest and for an ultra rare add on it is piss poor.

When do people take 4 in though? Rarely? Stop expecting the worst all the time. Even if 4 get taken in that is one gen across the entire game. It is an ultra rare add on, it is supposed to be strong. How about we make the trappers ultra rare only open handful of traps before it stops working? Especially now survivors can't sabotage them.

  • @SquirrelKnight said:

Im happy about the toolbox change, i get people are upset cause usefulness is down but you gotta remember, a toolbox with brand new part would wreck face even on one survivor. The huge issue with balancing this stuff is it has to be balanced for the possibility of 4 people taking it. A little good rng and the killer sees 4 gens pop before seeing a survivor (I know usually its 3 gens and one person caught but the 4 gen pop was also a possibility)

But they're ultra rare add ons they SHOULD be strong but they are weak as #########! 25% of a gen. Wow.

If killers started having their ultra rare add ons turned in to weak ######### everyone on here would be up in arms about how unfair it is but because it is survivor stuff getting hammered it is all good, positive changes.

I don't care about toolboxes having their charges reduced, it is the fact they have been reduced SO much and border on pointless now. Survivor bloodweb becomes more pointless with each update at the moment. Survivors may as well just have 15 perks per bloodweb and not bother having any items. Ooh a toolbox with half a charge on it for 4000 BP but I can make sure for that second I don't get a skill check if I use this add on for 4000 BP. 8000BP for next to nothing in game. Wooooo fun!

  • All of them. Adept Plague was the worst one to get because she doesn't do well in emblems when they don't cleanse and you don't use corrupt.

  • @Carpemortum said:

Could we not have close hatch quests?

It's stupid and toxic. I have to basically let them win so I can find the hatch and be able to close it before they leave and the game ends. Gosh.

Seriously though, it's a mechanic in game, and they need challenges. What would you like them to do, have a "gather 3 survivors and teabag in the killer shack together" challenge?

They only have so much to work with.

With the way killers play at the moment you would think there was a camp 400 survivors and tunnel the ######### out of people 18,000 times challenges. That's OK though because it is a "legit strat". Ugh

  • Because toolboxes aren't already bordering on pointless? The bloodweb other than perks is starting to look like a waste of time for survivors due to killers crying so much.

  • I have played on PC, PS4 and Xbox. The dedicated server issue is far far worse on xbox than any other platform I have played in. It is on the verge of being unplayable right now. I mostly connect to a room that has a yellow ping, sometimes even red. I could probably count on one hand how many times a green ping has been encountered since the servers were switched on for Xbox. I have never had any of these issues on PC.

  • @FrankSRfromIT said:

How do you know you are facing a SWF? I have only been playing killer for about a month)PS4), and sometimes I can tell when I am by how they are playing, but how else does everyone know they are playing with/against SWF?

Basically if the killer gets destroyed it MUST be SWF. I have been accused of being SWF loads of times when playing solo. They just assume it is always SWF and that is why they got beaten.

Just try not to dwell on whether the survivors you are facing are in a group or not. Just enjoy your game. Otherwise you will end up a bitter, twisted killer main.

  • @BrendanLeeT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1055931#Comment_1055931

Except Camping and Tunneling are things that the killer specifically chooses to do to ruin the survivor's experience.

Oh and guess what? It's the survivors choice to do the following:

    • Run toolboxes to reduce gen time even more
    • Burn maps that are heavily stacked against the killer, especially larger ones
    • Use extremely strong loops to make the chase go on for far too long
    • Separate entirely making gen pop even faster
    • Ignoring totems, chests, refusing to heal and only going for the save on the last second to only focus purely on gens to end the game as fast as possible..

If you're going to say that separating is just survivors being efficient with their objective then same goes for tunneling. It's more efficient to target the weaker player to sacrifice him sooner.

Working gens is what the survivors are tasked with doing, they don't really have a choice not to because that is their objective.

Standing next to a hook is a choice for a killer. Ignoring the unhooker and fixating on the unhooked is a choice the killer makes. Both of these actions result in other people focussing on generators and then the killer cries gen rush.

The killer's job is to you know.. kill. It's literally in the name. Yes killers have a choice to camp or tunnel but survivors also have the choice to at least give the killer a chance without stacking all of the odds against them, just like how tunneling stacks the odds against the survivors because it's much easier to juggle 3 survivors than it is to juggle 4.

I'll admit if killers camp and give way too much free time for survivors do gens then they have no rights to complain at all.

If you're tunnelling someone or camping someone what should the other survivors do??? Stand still and wait for you to be ready to deal with them? Place themselves under a hook to try and tempt you away from the tunnelling victim?

Sit on gens but miss every skill check so it never progresses very far? It makes no sense for you to moan about survivors doing gens when that is their task and if you're camping they can't unhook and if they discover you tunnel the ######### out of someone when they do unhook them, then they may as well leave that person on the hook anyway.

It isn't the most efficient way of doing things at all. That injured survivor is off the hook and let's say the unhooker was fully healthy and had Borrowed time. You go after the unhooked, gets hit that's borrowed time done and a speed boost, then you carry on chasing them, in the meantime that unhooker has nothing else to do other than pop themselves on a gen.

Whereas if you had done things the other way, the unhooked will go and get healed or heal themselves which uses up time off a gen whilst you deal with the unhooker. So for potentially 30 seconds you have at least 2 people off gens.

Tunnelling and camping only happens because killers are desperate not only for a kill but to ruin the game for someone. It even happens when no gens have been completed so what is the justification there?

You're making excuses for behaviours that drive people away from playing survivor. Whilst criticising the survivors for doing what they are tasked with in the game. It makes zero sense. Gen rushing isn't a real thing. If you're not juggling survivors they aren't just going to stand still.

As for toolboxes and add ons. Why is it OKnfor a killer to be using iridescent add ons and iridescent offerings but survivors shouldn't?

You do realise that you can have fun in a game you don't win? You don't have to kill everyone every single time, just like as a survivor you don't have to escape to have fun.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

You're right. Gen rushing isn't any more of a thing than tunneling or camping. They are all just made up player jargon. Speaking as a killer main, it's not so much that I'm mad at survivors when gens get finished quickly as I am upset that the game works that way to begin with. The fundamental problem with this game is that as players gain experience they quickly realize that as a survivor you only really have 2 objectives.

    1. If the killer is not chasing you then you work generators.
    2. If the killer is chasing you then your job is to stall as long as possible so other survivors can work generators.

That's it. That's the survivor experience in a nutshell. As survivors get better at those two things the killer is getting squeezed from both ends. Chases take longer to end and generators get done faster. The experience for the killer is that we just don't have time to actually play the game. The inescapable fact of playing killer is there is only one of you which means you can only be in one place at a time.

It's no small coincidence that the most successful killers are also the ones can traverse the maps the quickest and/or end chases the fastest. Those are the things that impact the things survivors are trying to do the most.

But there are quite a few killers in the game. And the majority of them don't have the tools to deal with the growing experience pool among survivors. Any killer can stomp newbie survivors. You don't even need a killer power to do that. But the higher you climb as a killer the more the power balance shifts.

No killer expects 4 kills every game. But we would like time to actually play before the exit gates are powered. And that isn't a survivor problem really. It's DBD problem. One that hopefully is addressed sooner rather than later that takes both sides into consideration.

Except Camping and Tunnelling are things that the killer specifically chooses to do to ruin the survivor's experience.

I don't main either side, I play both. I think a lot of the moaning from both sides would be reduced if people didn't fixate on playing one half of the game and moaning about the opposite half.

  • It is definitely not used to describe the game. I have been called a gen rushing ######### and numerous variations on that just for doing gens whilst they fixate on one person. No toolboxes. No perks to speed up gens.

It has become a term used when a killer has played a crappy round but want to blame the survivors for how crap they played.

  • This is why people shouldn't only play half of the game.

The idea of "maining" one side and never doing the other is dumb. I swear most of the problems the game has is because people who only play one side moan about the other side constantly.

Imagine thinking you can't make solid arguments for or against something that is not yet implemented or shown in practice.

A guy called Einstein comes to mind who figured things out by using logical thinking that only got proven right around 60 years after his death. I know this is an extreme example but it shows the flaws in your argument.

Also the way you talk makes you seem like your age doesn't exceed the age of the game that you're arguing about.

Hang on..... are you comparing Tru3 to Einstein?

  • Tru3 is being paid to play essentially so of course him being solo is part of it. He isn't going to want to share his screen time with other people who may come across far more interesting and dynamic than he is and then he loses viewers to those people.

He is dull to watch and dull to listen to as it is just him moaning about every aspect of the game.

The person who claimed on PS4 it was constant SWF because he can see 3 people in a lobby waiting for a 4th. It is dedicated servers now. The killer can show up after any number of survivors have joined a room. You have no reason to suspect they are SWF, by all means keep lobby dodging if you feel the need but actually it is quite stupid to be doing so.

If people couldn't play with their friends they would leave. I do a fair bit of solo survivor and I do a fair bit of SWF. I die more in SWF than I do playing solo. The reason being not everyone in the group plays to the same level. The number of pro SWF teams is relatively low. Most of us just want to chat and have a laugh whilst playing.

I have been accused of being a SWF plenty of times in solo play and accused of gen rushing with no toolboxes and no speed perks. Just killers having a moan because they didn't win.

I also play killer before anyone claims I am a survivor main so I can't understand what it is like to be a killer against SWF.

You win some, you lose some. Stop expecting to win every game and you will enjoy the game a lot more.

  • Solo survivor. There have been so many times I have come across another survivor when I haven't had Self Care equipped and I'm teabagging next to them on the gen asking to be healed and they refuse to. So I don't take that risk anymore. Self care it is.

As for people who claim using an aura reading perk and getting someone else to do it is better, how is that? Time spent travelling to that survivor and then that survivor has to come off the gen they are working for 16 seconds to heal you, but you're also off that gen for 16 seconds so that is 32 seconds of people not working gens between you.

If you used Self Care, no finding a survivor or travelling to their location, 32 seconds of someone not working a gen.

The argument about how long it takes makes no sense in regards to saying it is better to have someone else heal you.

The inner strength argument also makes no sense.

16 seconds cleansing a totem and 8 seconds in a locker, 24 seconds. That doesn't take the time to find a totem or the time taken to find a locker in to consideration, it takes longer than a combined 8 seconds to do both of those things. Again, using the time taken on Self Care to argue the strength of this method makes no sense.

Oh there are only 2 of us left, you're on a hook and I'm injured, let me just find a totem, cleanse it, then get in a locker to heal and then I'll come and get you.....oh.... you're dead now.

I play fair but as soon as someone is t-bagging me I tunnel and camp that person. Also I write down names on survivors that t-bag, does not matter if they do it in a game where I am survivor or killer. If I see them again they will not have a fun game they will be tunneld, camped or if I'm survivor I will not help that person in any way. They can stay on that hook I won't help.

I don't ever tunnel or camp. I don't see the point it is boring and not fun for everyone involved.

I really can't understand the idea of getting upset by someone pressing crouch repeatedly. It doesn't actually do anything to you. This whole list thing you do is mental as ######### too.

At the end of the day it is a game. Stop taking everything so seriously.

  • What killers were you against?

    It's such BS.

The point of his marking is SUPPOSED TO BE that he stalks you. You don't know he's there.

So how is it you can run from him for 3 minutes, drop a pallet on him and while you're staring him in the face he marks you?

I have tried EVERYTHING to break the mark. Looking at him with his face center screen. A little up to the left, a little up to the right, down, side to side. HOW THE HELL DO YOU BREAK HIS MARK?

I have stared at ghostface for MINUTES and nothing happens.

And he marks you WAY too fast and WAY too easily.

9/10 times a ghostface marks me is when I drop a pallet and we look at eachother waiting to see if he's gonna break it or run around.

Takes him about 3 seconds to mark me. And HE SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO MARK YOU ONCE CHASE HAS BEGUN. That is a total violation of the purpose of marking.

Basically ghostface is a free one hit down every time just like leatherface.

It used to be the chainsaw could only go in the direction you swing it in.

Now, in one swing of the saw, he can chase you down a wall, around the corner, and back in the other direction and still down you.

    It's ABSURD

I have not seen a leatherface use his sledgehammer in months. Every single hit is a one hit down.

    No cool down. No wait.

And as long as he's within ten feet of you, he's automatically going to get you no matter what you do.

You SHOULD be able to duck a chainsaw swing. You can't outrun it and now that he can change directions mid swing (which is a total violation of the law of physics)

there is simply NO WAY to evade a chainsaw swing.

It's reminiscent of the trappers traps.

13 tries and I couldn't break free. When I stepped in the trap, the trapper was hooking someone. After that, he chased someone else, hit them, chased them more, hit them again, picked them up, carried them to a hook, hooked them, and walked all the way across the map to me and I STILL HADNT BROKEN FREE.

The traps should be an advantage, not a guaranteed hook. It tells him where you are AND injures you so you're a one hit down. THAT IS ENOUGH. Holding you there that long is absurd.

Even with add-ons, 5 tries should be the max it EVER takes to free yourself. 1-2 normally and 3-5 with add-ons.

I am a killer main and I'm DISGUSTED by how OP the killers are. I don't play survivor as much but when I do, I'm also disgusted by how dirty they play. Camping, tunneling, resorting to exploits.

It's shameful. As a killer main, there IS a code of ethics. It's basic sportsmanship.

    And it's easy to remember.

What is the goal of the game?

If you answered winning, you're a dbag. The goal of the game is fun.

Dbd is 5 people working together to have fun. If you put your selfish need to win ahead of the prime directive, you suck all the fun out of the game and ruin everyone's game.

    Stop being a dbag.

    Play to maximize fun.

That way no one cares if they win or lose because they had fun.

That's why I get thank you notes from people I've killed. Because I give them a good time.

I don't have a wounded ego and a chip on my shoulder that makes me want to ruin other people's fun.

    And I still get 4k.

I just do it while upholding the basic tenants of sportsmanship.

And since I USUALLY get about 100,000BP per match. I'm obviously doing something right.

    You should try it sometime.

    Are you OK?

  • Ban people for crouching under a hook? Whaaaaaaaaaaat? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • I find the forums quite annoying to be honest. There are pretty much 3 types on here:

    1. People who only play killer - These ######### and moan about every single thing a survivor has. Example(s) - Borrowed time should only last 3 seconds, if a survivor uses Decisive Strike they should be banned. Tru3 told me survivors were the power role and now I'll just keep spouting that because a team of survivors beat me.

    2. People who only play Survivor - These ######### and moan about every single thing a killer has. Example(s) - NOED is OP and should be removed from the game. The Spirit killed me in 2 games in a row, she needs nerfing.

    3. People who play both sides - Generally try and defend certain things in the posts done by the 2 categories above. Realise it is a waste of time and then leave.

  • It's a single use perk. If they want to unhook someone when hey have been unhooked, so what? It can be used once in a game and is a 5 second stun.

  • I will say GG in majority of games whether I have lost or won.

If I lose as a survivor due to hardcore camping/tunnelling, I don't bother.

I never feel the need to start saying ez, everyone has bad games.

  • @PuppetLivesMatter said:

I hope you guys be ready for the tunneling, camping, slugging, moris and iri addons. Genrush will be boring for us survivor mains and annoying for killer mains. Also queues will be longer for survivors. With Ruin nerf will begin a dark time to DBD for all, survivors and killers. Just two days...

I love how it is already the latest excuse for camping and tunnelling. Like Killer mains didn't do this with current ruin. If you're a tunneller/camper you're gonna do it no matter what.

If you really think DS and BT can't be abused to use them effectively against killers that are not camping/tunneling honestly I don't even want to start a discussion with you.

You can only have DS for 1 minute after an unhook. So either you're tunnelling or you're just unlucky the minute hasn't expired when you have hooked someone else and found them again.

Borrowed time only triggers when unhooking in a terror radius. So the only way you're going to notice it has been done is if you tunnel the one who just got unhooked, of course they may take a hit to try and protect the unhooker too.

Either way none of this is abuse this is using perks that are in the game. Your fixation on how the are being abused and how unfair it is on YOU as the killer is the problem. Not the perks or the way they are being used.

I rarely get hit with DS and the only time I see BT is when someone who has been unhooked tries to block my path so I'll hit them away so I can go after who unhooked them.

  • Your original post makes no sense. I'm not camping or tunnelling but people are using(I refuse to say abusing when what you mean is using a perk) BT and DS and that annoys me. Even though you're mostly only going to experience either of these perks if you're camping and/or tunnelling.

  • @Groxiverde said:

I used to play survivor like 40% of my games before the queues became a nightmare, now I only play killer with slugging builds, because im very tired of people abusing DS and BT when I'm not tunneling or camping.

    Is this a trolling post?

  • It isn't supposed to be an anti-tunnel perk at all. It just activates after being unhooked. It can be used however the survivor sees fit in that minute. It is a SING LE USE perk that can easily be avoided. There doesn't need to be any more bullshit limitations on it to say it deactivates if someone else gets hooked.

I mean in that instance if you downed someone not far from their hook and you saw someone about to unhook them, you would just wait to hook the person you just downed, let the person you suspect has DS get unhooked then 2 seconds later hook the next person, now you're free to go back and put the same person back on the hook. Such a fun play and deemed completely "balanced" through the eyes of someone who only plays killer.

Because DS has been advertised as an anti-tunneling perk, some people consider it abusive or exploitative to make use of the perk in situations where the user hasn't actually been tunneled, such as if they get unhooked and the killer downs and hooks another survivor, and the DS user gets downed while rescuing the second survivor and their DS is still active.

It's silly, because of course they're going to use their perk if it activates. They can't reasonably be expected to do otherwise.

It may well be labelled as an anti-tunnelling perk but first and foremost it is just her perk. She had the opportunity to use it as part of a save attempt, so why wouldn't she use it? She is also not guaranteed to get to use it next time she gets unhooked either.

The idea of it being "abused" is ridiculous. It is a tool she had at her disposal. She used it. Killers can pick whatever perks they want and so can survivors. The whole idea of making excuses to camp/tunnel/abuse people based on the perks they have used is dumb.

This isn't directed at you, I know you're just explaining what I have asked. My issue is that thos community has really bizarre ideas about what the opposing team can and can't use in their perk slots.

  • I would love for the term "Abused her DS" to be explained in plain English, please?

  • I wasn't even sure about posting in case I was missing something really obvious XD

  • @Deadeye said:

That change could actually make Scratched Mirror usable on outdoor maps

    Am I missing something? How?

Scratched Mirror means you can't go beyond Tier 1 so why would being able to get back to tier 1 after tiering up make any difference to an outdoor map with scratched mirror? I would assume the add on would still trap you in tier 1.

If I catch you, no matter what else has happened in the game, I am absolutely entitled to that kill. You want a 4 man escape, don't get caught. I've had survivors use a pallet at the exact right time to escape, and I compliment them on the good play. Borrowed time is a crutch perk that allows you to be lazy

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/925214#Comment_925214

There are a few problems with your argument. Auto aim being one of them, body blocking is another, which is another problem of auto aim. You can't get two hits off in the unhook animation.

That flashlight 100% happened when I looked at the wall, and I'm not the only killer to have noticed that. If timed right, there is 0 chance to look up.

I play solo a lot. Easy points, easy pips, slightly more difficult escapes. About the only time I lose is if I have really bad teammates. Match I played last night, the idiot fast vaulted the first window he saw, which drew the killer right to me.

It isn't a lazy, crutch perk at all. It is there because of people who play like you standing right by a hook desperate for that person to die on their first hook because you know you wont get them again if they get off. So you sit there watching gens pop all around you and then cry when someone uses BT.

You can get 2 hits on a survivor unhooking. Either hit them as they get near the hook(since you're stood next to the hook) and then hit them after the unhook. The other option is they start unhooking, you hit them, that resets their unhook if you do it early enough. they use your stun to redo the unhooking of the survivor with BT, by which time your cooldown from an attack is done and you hit again.

Entitled to a kill? What? This is really bizarre logic. Just quit playing. It is for the best as you're just going to get more frustrated and take it out on more people, ruining everyone else's experience because you aren't getting the kills you're "entitled" to.

You obviously posted this expecting other killers to rally around you and tell you how right you are and it just hasn't happened because it is such an odd attitude to have to the game.

Borrowed time is not a problem until the end of the game. If NOED bypassed it, it would be infinitely more fair. If they did their job and cleansed the totems, they deserve the escape, if not, they deserve to get downed.

I already said head on is not OP, UNLESS you have SWF, because they can coordinate the stuns. Annoying, sure, but not OP in solo. I consider brutal a tie and ruthless a win. However, when I'm going against toxic little turds, I don't care anymore and the only thing on my mind is killing them, depip be damned.

This was not about who was better, this was about a bully squad. Survivors can't handle not escaping, so they whine and get OP crap like BT. Killers get nothing and are expected to like it.

Co-ordinated or not Head On is not OP. You have 2 people off gens right there. One being chased the other getting in a locker waiting for you to go by.

Borrowed Time wasn't brought in to ensure an escape at all. It was to give survivors a chance when going up against Camping/Tunnelling Killers. People like you are the reason that perk was created. That you then claim is OP because it affects you.

I don't really care what perks survivors bring in. I don't care what perks killers bring in. The only thing that bothers me in this came is camping and tunnelling. It is just a pathetic way to play. I know you're not going to see it any differently because you got beat and had a tantrum etc but stop blaming perks and just start focusing on playing the game.

The whole I lost because(Pick one or multiple dependent on how upset you are):

    SWF is OP.

    DS is OP.

    BT is OP.

    Toolboxes are OP.

    Medpacks are OP.

    Torches are OP.

    And so on.

It is an argument where no matter what is said you won't listen because you think you're entitled to 4 kills every game and if you don't or you go against a co-ordinated team the whole game should be changed to ensure you do get 4 kills every single game no matter who you are up against. Unless survivors start the game on the hook or right next to a hook and already injured you won't be happy.

The grab is useless since they can interrupt the animation. IMO, if the survivor is sitting still at all, you should be able to grab them. Matchmaking is what it is because killer is weak and BHVR basically gave killer mains a slap in the face. No killers in higher ranks means longer wait for survivor and these mismatches.

Head on is annoying because there is no mind game, you just have to wait the 30 seconds, but I wouldn't call it OP under normal circumstances. With a high rank, toxic SWF bully team, it is absolutely OP. Borrowed time is incredibly OP and DS is OP at the end of the game.

I play both sides in addition to a lot of deep rock galactic. That is irrelevant and has nothing to do with broken aspects of this game.

I disagree the grab is useless. I have had plenty of grabs when people have tried to unhook someone as soon as I have put them on the hook and even if the grab doesn't go through it will translate to a hit 99% of the time.

Borrowed time doesn't even work with a number of killers now. Either when the killer is using their stealth ability or when the survivor is oblivious. Borrowed time isn't OP ad it only affects people who camp(not stealth) and tunnel off the hook.

The Decisive Strike argument is pointless. As a killer I didn't have an issue with it before the changes. I would just get it out of the way early in the game and then it was done. Now because I don't tunnel anyone I don't see it.

Head On..... I'm not even going to discuss this as being OP as I can't actually believe you're suggesting it is.

The issue you have is you went against a team who was better than you. That's it. That will happen, even with people in the same ranks as you because of rank reset and people deliberately deranking or they haven't played in a while. Sometimes you just have to accept you will lose. You're not going to kill them all every single time.

I agree with the next guy as well about how bad you must be at the game to stand still for minutes at a time when you get a hook because you are so scared they will get off the hook. I can't remember if it was on this thread or another, but was it you who said unless you get ruthless killer then it is a loss to you?

You're not going to get ruthless standing still in the better ranks but you'll do it because you so desperately need a kill? Borrowed Time exists because of players like you who can't handle not winning so camp. If the survivor does get off the hook you will then pursue them because getting 2 hits on another survivor is too difficult, then you discover they have BT and you cry it is OP because you still have to get 2 hits on the person.

I have been a Rank 1 killer and I have never camped and never tunnelled. Of course I have games where I get destroyed, so what? They were better than me. On to the next game.

Your entire post seems to be that survivors should have next to no perks and certainly shouldn't be allowed items whereas you should have a whole arsenal at your disposal to obliterate them in every game before one gen gets done. Otherwise you'll make the players in the following games have a miserable time because you're mid tantrum.

  • Matchmaking is currently what it is.

The flashlight thing can be annoying I agree.

If someone unhooks in front of you either pull them off the unhook midway through or hit them?

You specifically mentioned OP perks but the only perks mentioned in your original post were Head On and Borrowed Time?

It does sound like you need a break from the game or go play the other side for a little while and see how useless those perks can be.

  • OP set of perks? Borrowed time and Head on? Is that what we are whining about here?

1 … 4 5 6 7
