'Phone' is censored along with 'killer'. I don't know why BHVR still continues to use the term killer if they are censoring it in chat. Personally I like the name 'hooker' over killer since they don't actually kill most of the time, the Entity does it for them, but meh.

Current solo plans are the same as the old solo plans.
Screw soloq

Mass exodus?
Way ahead of you. I like reading the forums when bored/stuck doing something else, but haven't really touched the game in like four weeks.

Why not? There have been perks that counter other perks for some time.
Like boil over and iron grip, or stridor vs iron will.
It's all part of the gamble.
In this case it is not a gamble worth taking. It was a mediocre perk to begin with - now it is will never come off the shelf.
-
Not really fun. They usually fall into two categories either can't play nurse and are easy to evade, or godlike nurse who downs you and you have no recourse unless you have dead hard to make yourself last for a few more seconds.
Either one is not fun to versus for me.
Against good nurses stealth is usually most effective, but how fun is that - not very. So again, nurse means just get the match over as fast as possible to me.

Indeed.
The guy was also streaming, which makes it even better.
Be nice if they all streamed so I could monitor and dodge their lobbies.
-
What's to tell - they just use hacks to teleport around the map, through wall, and use audio cues cranked up to absurd levels to find you automatically.
I wouldn't say there is any playing against them - there's no chance given. I have seen the same huntress twice in in the past 30 minutes now.

I literally said one of the perks I was using as in my match it had OP vaule. So, BHVR doesn't like "Red Herring," apparently. It offends someone woke? I curse a blue-streak on a daily basis in my life and do you know who are the only ones to tell me shut up or find it hugely offensive? Snowflake millenials and Gen Z
Can't say the perk's name 'Rancor' in chat either...nor 'Killer'...
Say BHVR why is the word killer still being used by you to refer to certain characters - time to pc up and change that term now. Your chat filter says so.
-
There should be an option to turn off the filter. I find it insulting that BHVR doesn't treat people as adults.
And more insulting they filter the word 'phone'.

Pftt as if you should ever care what survivors think. You don't play killer to make friends unless you are a cringe huntress main 69.
And tunneling someone out right off the bat is the best strategy there is in DBD btw. The best tunneling perks that have ever existed in DBD, Deadlock + No Way Out, are in the meta right now. Both allow you to sacrifice tons of generators to secure kills.
Even as a baby killer I always considered 3 gens for 1 kill a good trade, because it's so easy to snowball in the 3v1
You are still a player among players and they'll remember you in other games.

You implied that it was only possible with a 4 man swf, i gave an example of how it can happen even naturally and accidentally. My point was that saying survivors "need" that information as this post stated:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2940305#Comment_2940305
My argument is that neither side needs it, and the argument for why a survivor would is no more important than why a killer would.
Killer have a total hook count already they can use to help keep track.
I still don't see why killer would need to see specific counts of hooks per survivor - which is what the op was about.

you don't have to be in a swf for 2 or more people to have similar/same cosmetics.
It was said '4' not '2' and that weird case doesn't happen very often and if it did does the killer really care how many times they hooked a particular claudette. They wouldn't tell the difference anyway unless they were chasing the obsession or downed a claudette in which case are they suddenly going to go - 'Oh I downed the wrong claudette, guess I'll leave her alone here and try another.'
Not likely scenario and not likely that knowing each claudette's hook count would help since you couldn't tell them apart just by looking anyway.
-
Not rare enough.
-
@Ryuhi said:

and if you're going against 4 claudettes with the exact same cosmetics, what do killers get to be able to tell them apart?
That's an swf problem - not a HUD issue.
-
Sure, get mad that someone put in a map offering that somehow offends your sensitive sensibilities.
Then be even more toxic and camp the guy that probably had nothing to do with it.
You shouldn't be a killer if a map offering touches you off.
You're far too delicate.

I think part of the issue was that if someone got saved last second before struggle you wouldn't know if they went second stage or not.
And yeah @Lynxx, it is pretty easy to forget what hook state survivors are on while playing killer if you are playing rather chill. I have several games where I have been surprised someone was on death hook without knowing each night I play.
I guess I've never had that problem as killer, especially if I'm concerned about accidentally killing someone.

Really though as a killer you should easily be able to recall how many times you hooked someone. There's only four survivors.
Could the same argument not be made for survivors? I mean, killers arguably have more to keep track of than survivors. So why do survivors need it so badly?
Survivors don't often witness each other being hooked so there's little visual to differentiate them leaving their screams which again, inexperienced survivors won't know the difference between them beyond male vs. female.
And since they are considered on the same 'team' that information is therefore provided to their 'team'.
-
You say so you don't accidentally kill the person while many would use it to 'accidentally' tunnel the one on death hook.
Really though as a killer you should easily be able to recall how many times you hooked someone. There's only four survivors.
-
Probably sit on a gen until killer comes then just kill myself on first hook.
Then get mad at the survivor that saves me forcing me to stick around longer than I want.
-
Bleed out option would be nice, but probably never happen.
Killers use it as a tool to get that 4k by slugging one and searching for (or ambushing) the other survivor.
Devs apparently want you to suffer playing their game for the real survivor experience...by making you stare at the ground for 5 minutes.
-
Anything would be better than that green key.
-
I think I got it finally why Legion sucks...
You get punished enough for other survivor's mistakes, with Legion you get punished even more.
-
Fed up so much I don't even play Legion right now.

antiloop means the only strategy is throw pallet earlier and hold w until the killer gets distracted or you go down after consuming as much time as possible. It's an effective strategy, just boring.
The fun part of most matches is the chase, and particularly sneaky or clever hide or a ballsy rescue that works... the less of that in each game the more boring it gets
Exactly with all this anti-loop initiative they've done...pressing hard w and throwing pallets is the only way to reliably chase now. They took the fun out of mind gaming the loop, much like how killers feel they are forced to camp or tunnel, survivors are forced to hit w now.
-
I just wish I knew it was in effect, I would of saved my challenges when it went back to single reward.

I’ve come to notice that many people don’t enjoy anti-loop or chase oriented killers.
i’ve just come here to ask why, because i personally don’t see the issues (besides a few killers).
i don’t think we all want to loop every killer basically the exact same way, and look at sadako, she’s not very good for a reason, 0 anti-loop.
Because there is no other defense to killers but the chase. Hide? That's laughable.
-
Claudettes...5% of them are godlike in chases, the other 95% are downed just by the killer looking in their general direction.
Guess they are Claudettes for a reason for the the blending ability.

I miss not having another alternative to swamp maps.
So kinda?

He was nerfed previously because of how unfun it is to play against him, constantly just mending, healing (if you want to), probably already had the longest games. With newer perk combos since his release, most maps becoming smaller and more open, he's even more unfun to play against. The fact he can see you mending, interrupt your mends, make you start again if he does interupt you, wreck your gen progress 200% in 1 quick kick, makes it even worse now than kt was before.
I know killer or legion mains will hate this post and other survivors will possibly say I'm toxic for saying this bit, but honestly I just kill myself as soon as I'm hooked against Legion because it's just not fun to play against.
Good job with the music though.
No I'm sort of with you as a Legion main. Before it was a niche killer, considered weak and did well with Legion. Now it's...too easy and everyone is doing it. Guess I'll main Pig now.
-
Killer who think that is toxic are overly sensitive and probably shouldn't be killers.
Survivors do gens, that's what they do. Especially if they are close to finish and I have ruin or pop or it's the last gen, I expect them to finish.
That said it's probably not smart giving a killer free hooks early in game for a gen that isn't highly strategic, like to prevent a three gen or the aforementioned last gen.
-
I mained Legion because of the style and not many played them because they were considered 'weak'.
Now after this update - I don't even feel like playing that killer now. Far too many running around.
-
Confirmed. When gaining exposed status and Myer's Evil III wears off, the exposed status still appears in HUD.
This should also be in Bug Reporting section?
This was on PC for me.
-
As a killer I don't have a win condition.
As a survivor escape is the only win.
-
It's whichever one camps - I'm in for yet another boring game. That terrifies me.
-
A fun one.
-
I don't know if it's dying, but it dying to me.
-
The box mechanic is just - annoying, simply annoying. An SWF can coordinate and deal with it easily (of course) solos have to decide if they want to run across the map, expose themselves, and try to solved the damned thing while a hook hunt is probably going on all while their location is being telegraphed -- annoying.
And you have to drop your item to pick it up - usually the box is in a dead or unsafe area, so you either have to pre-plan and drop your item somewhere you can find it after the box, suck it up and drop it then take the box somewhere safer, or risk it and just try and do the stupid thing right there.
-
I don't dislike pinhead - I dislike his box.
I play exclusively solo, so hoping someone is closer to the box than I and ending up having to run across the map for it during a hook hunt, then followed up by not even being able to solve the thing due to hook hunts ongoing while my position is given away giving the pinhead plenty of time to come at me - gets real old, real fast.

seriously.
it's not camping if the hook's getting rushed.
Eventually that happens when the killer proxy camps the whole time - you have no choice other than letting that player die.

Imagine watching someone working on a gen, so intense.
Kind of makes one wonder why we do it.
-
It is a bit more generous than when it first came out - but after all the nerfs to DS, the skill check is an antiquated mechanic. It's still considered a 'hard' check like ones for Overload, maybe make it more generous like for Autodidact.
-
Solos get buffed by joining SWF.
-
Yet another perk that is useful mainly for SWF. Even then it is pretty lame - unless you pair it with Unbreakable maybe, even then it's lame.
-
If you like frustration and pain - play solo survivor.
If you like frustration and pain - play killer.

You don't get MMR from hatch escapes.
I thought it gave you some, not the same as an exit gate, but some.
Still I'm more likely to give the good survivor the hatch over a bad one.

Takes them like an hour to convert a hex into a boon totem...so....

I 4k'd one of them and 3k'd another with hatch so yeah I kinda do.
Look I don't really care about adepts as much as I care about the overall frustration that this game has.
It's the only game I've ever seen where once you get remotely decent at it, it then becomes and absolute sweat fest and isn't even remotely fun after playing at higher ranks for a little bit. Just makes me cringe to think that it's been like this for so long and nothing has been done.
Any camper/tunneler could do that and they sure don't deserve adept.
-
@Kurri said:
I tend to let the worst survivor get hatch, because I feel bad for them.
The worst survivor probably helped you out the most too. I tend to kill these players without mercy. They usually aren't doing their fellow survivors any favors and me giving them a pass up the MMR chain feels wrong. I may also have trauma from soloing because of it.
-
As a killer I will do it all the time especially if the rest of their team was potatoes.
