Did someone mention fixing map design to make chases shorter, and giving survivors additional objectives yet? Just wanted to stop by and make sure that's been mentioned.
-
I see someone is getting their "Hook 10 Survivor(s) in the basement." Challenge done. Good for them.
-
Watch out, you don't want any of the "Freddy OP, and boring to face" people to see this.

No matter how well you play, there are points where game mechanics take over and decide outcomes for you.
DBD isn’t a competitive game and sometimes expression of skill just isn’t possible. That doesn’t make you bad its just the game design.
When game changing plays happen due to a perk, I don’t get mad. I just think to myself “ok then” and just move on.
The worse part is that you can only go "ok then" so many times and then you face players that control the entire outcome of the match with just their perks, items, and add-ons

With over 3000 hours in the game, I couldn't agree with you more. The community was a lot more tolerable 4-5 years ago.

Remove the decay on Laceration - boom, balanced.

Gotta love being forced to play BHVR's bully simulator . If there isn't anything going to be done to clean up the toxicity in the game, then the DC penalty should be removed, that at least will help the health of the game somewhat.

Actually, yes. It fits perfectly with the definition of a mind game, it's a deliberate action to psychologically affect the other side in order to take advantage.
No it doesn't. Switching characters so you can take a key into the game with a hatch offering is not mind games. That's just exploiting.
We have to stop just allowing survivors to exploit unfair areas in the game, and hold them to the same standards we do Killers.

The mindgames start as soon as you're in a lobby.
There's no mind game in switching your character last second

ruin/undying/pop/corrupt ?
Can we backup here a moment. You get 0 value from Pop till both Ruin and Undying are removed, so this "Sweaty Killer" started the game only playing with 3 perks. After 2 minutes they lose Corrupt, so now if you didn't cleanse both those totems the Killer is only playing with 2 perks.

I'm not saying the system is perfect, I'm just saying it's there, and DCing doesn't help. The mods can't act on reports that aren't sent.
This is the response you get on a ticket that you attach a screenshot of the reports as proof;
Hello,
Thank you for your report.
I have tried to investigate this for you, but have been unable to see an in-game report sent about this matter. In order for me to look at this in more detail, I would need to view the full chat log from end-game chat which would have been contained in that report. Unfortunately this means I will not be able to process your request. I am sorry for any disappointment this may cause.
In the future, please ensure you report offensive behaviour via our in-game report system.

The Dead By Daylight team:
Honestly maybe its time people made a thread on the forums of the support team not performing adequately that's probably also causing a majority of these issues with the game (especially letting all the toxicity go unabated). I have seen people actually be told to "get good" by dbds support (in the nicest way possible of course).
-
More than just performance issues.

Wanna see proof of survivor sided? These upvotes. It's common sense to want balance in the game. Killer can't switch Killers last second, why should the Survivors be able to. Why should the Survivor be allowed to switch to a key last second, but the Killer have no time to put on Franklins? Why should survivors be allowed to switch to a perfect item layout, but Killer doesn't have time to switch to a sweaty build?
Exactly. Common sense. They shouldn't. It's only fair that survivors have locked characters upon searching for a match as well.

Remove the hatch, and start EGC 2 minutes after the second last survivor dies/dc's. There shouldn't be a mechanic in a game that takes reward away from the player that done well, and gives reward to players that did poorly.
-
Just going to put it out there. Seen a lot of players leave World of Warcraft for this kind of toxicity over the years, and then the most recent drama happened where all of the players got sick of the game becoming a money farm, it's toxicity, nothing being done, and immediately switched to other options.
We also seen it happen to Deathgarden.
Not implying.
-
Remember they've said it's not gone forever.
Netflix is going to have it's fill making a few console games, and apps then when the market dies down license back to BHVR for the royalties. It's within Netflix's best interest to gorge when the money is hot, and the next season of Stranger Things is the best time to start doing that.

TL;DR survivors are ruining the game by pressing crouch repeatedly and running around obstacles multiple times.
Dude really, you don't have to be rude. The forums is supposed to be a friendly place.

The repetitiveness. Every game feels the same, and I am at the point where I feel like I building every Killer the same way, something to the effect of BBQ, Franks, Pop, and Sloppy - a few minor changes for Killers that can't utilize perks like Franks or Sloppy (though even most m2 killers still can use them against good survivors). Playing survivor feels like you always have to take 4 perks to clean up ally mistakes, and playing with friends you just run meme builds and get stomped on, or are forced to run BT, DS, SB, Unbreak.
Most of the maps are survivor sided, there are hardly anymore medium based loops, so you no longer have to mind game, it's just down to run the loop correctly for survivor and the chance you have when you attempt to hide your red stain (but hey if you're not playing stretched res with color blind mode, your playing at a disadvantage against everyone else because they are).
But hey, we got Pinhead finally, and the cosmetics are cool.

but finally He Came

Right now. The toxicity, the SBMM, every other thread is about brining FNAF into the game so we have many children playing now. A lot of my friends stopped playing. A lot of the CC's I have been following stopped playing and starting to stray from the game.
I am only around right now, because of the grind (finish the current tome).

Then you would need to fix gate spawning.
That has nothing to do with it.

I dash between 1 and 2 both survivor and Killer, but the game has become boring with 15-20+ minute ques and I only face S-A tier killers who tunnel and camp to keep up with the speed the gens go. As for killer it's just mirrored, having to play dirty (slug, tunnel, camp) to slow the game down or change the dynamic in a game . Extremely repetitive. I have basically come up with the same build every round as survivor and Killer - all killers, because you just need Franklins for the items. Sloppy for the fast heals. Pop because all other regression perks are unreliable, and BBQ for consistent information. Survivor you need Borrowed Time for safe saves, Decisive Strike for when you get tunneled, Sprint Burst to run to safe areas, and Unbreakable for when your slugged. I have been getting full value out of all my perks each round. Also you certainly see the RNG in this game in full.
TL;DR At rank 1 and 2 and game has become long ques for just gen rushing camping, tunneling, and slugfest of S-A tier Killers and for the most part everyone runs the exact same 8 Perks, in which if you stray from these 8 perks - you lose.
-
This is satire.
-
Honestly BHVR could make an announcement at this point and say they have no intentions of bringing FNAF into the game because of it's child audience.
How do I know they won't bring it into the game? Because BHVR are good people, and they are not the type of people to extort children for money.
-
Here's an idea. Remove the hatch.
-
Use it to close distance instead of dodging attacks.
-
I find Kindred makes more of the mindset of "I know you can see I am working on this gen, and that person is getting chased - go get the unhook" over survivors using the perk to strategically decide "Alright I should go get the unhook". I don't use Kindred, and rely on hook gymnastics, my luck has been better with hook gymnastics.
We should somehow normalize understanding that when we see someone running Kindred, check your allies - see who is getting chased, and if you see the other survivor running for hook, then you stay on gens, if you see the other survivor on gens, then you run for hook.
However I have had instances where I would run for hook, and then they run for hook same time, so I stop, which they stop at the same time, and it's this back and fourth mirroring of going and stopping.
-
Bubba Sawyer "Leatherface" the Cannibal is the obvious answer.
-
Rarely used, and even more rarely ever activated. I would rework it so that it's actually useful.
-
Then this proves that better survivors face stronger killers more often. I have noticed on player streams, and myself have been facing lots of S tier, and A tier killers (I.E Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, etc), while it looks like you have actually faced a mixture of many kinds of killers.
-
Just make keys so that only the survivor who used the key can escape, and only if had been already hooked 2 times. Problem solved.
-
@Trickstaaaaa said:
Iron will is fine. I use my eyes more than anything when in chases. And when I play nurse, I usually tend to predict where a survivor will go rather than using noises. Anyway strider is a niche perk that is rarely run by killers other than mostly spirits, or some nurses.
Stridor no longer counters Iron Will. Now when you run Iron Will you make 0 noise while injured, regardless what anything else in the game does.
-
Honestly I don't think a 5min penalty is enough, still seeing people dc all the time.
-
We had waited a long time, and it was worth it.
-
The game is meant to be casual and fun. I don't expect any player to sweat and stress out while playing. If I run into a Killer who has some bad luck, or against an extremely good team - goes afk as a result. I let them. I finish gens, leave, and move on to my next game. I can get my rank 1 back from a single depip if the afk killer made me lose a pip. I can do challenges in other matches.
Same with Killer if I see a survivor clearly trying to surrender, and leave the match. I kill them outright. If someone DC's no problem. If survivors gen rush, let them. I am not about to sweat and stress over a casual game. I choose to ignore the bad, and enjoy the good.
When you get used to this mindset then a lot of things that normally piss you off really just doesn't bug you anymore.
-
Then blame the people who used rank as a weapon to bully others. We all knew that ranks did not equate to skill, but for far too long, and far too much us players have each others ranks to harass others.
I am very happy with the change to hiding ranks, there is 0 reason for anyone to see another persons rank since it doesn't refer to that players skill. It refers how much they play a month.
-
Yes.
If I black pip. Yes
If I depip. No.
If the survivors in end game chat are abusive. No.
-
Ranks does not equal Skill. That's why the ranks are hidden, and it's for the better. Not once today have I seen anyone insult each other using ranks as a weapon. With more changes like this I can actually see BHVR curbing the growing toxicity that has become a problem in the game.
Next update I would recommend is changing from the Survivor/Killer Icon to the characters display pictures.
-
She doesn't have a problem. She's one of the few actual Killers in this game. Unpredictable, has areas where there is no counterplay. Still requires a higher level of skill. How a KILLER should be.
The whole "No counterplay" excuse doesn't make sense for a non-competitive game.
-
The idea is going to drive many of the Killers away and make people play a lot more survivor. It will also show what's strong in the game and what's not, but ultimately the game won't be able to survive without it's Killer base.
Yes I understand most players play both roles, but que times are going to become awful when no one wants to play Killer anymore.
-
I don't dodge lobbies, but if you ask which I prefer. I prefer lobbies of mostly console players if not all console players, because I won't get heat at the end of the match win or lose.
-
And instead of fixing the issue, the response is "Oh Killers are not using totems anymore? Alright here you go Survivors Boon Totems!" instead of something along the lines of; Letting Killers hex dull totems. This way they choose where their hex is, they have to take time to hex a totem to gain it's benefits, you don't lose an entire perk slot just because Survivors find your totem out in the open, you can just hex another dull totem.
-
I absolutely adore you, thank-you so much <3 . Very happy to help

I kind of am having the same experience with Feng, but trying to just "I'll get used to it".
