I rarely play survivor, but when I do it's like 4 out of 5 games a person always suicides on first hook in solo queue it's really quite annoying and puts me off playing survivor.
-
Try using the brown add-ons that makes him lunge 20% further on his first bound & the 5% speed add-on when charging his power. Those 2 add-ons alone make his power significantly more useful on loops, window vaults & people that pre drop pallets. His pallet & window vaults are pretty powerful when you get the hang of when to use them. I find he also really excels when using lethal pursuer.
I honestly thought for the first day or so that his power was garbage, but have stuck with it & I can honestly say that he's still very strong even with the bugs. Over the last 2 days/nights I've probably had about a 95% winrate on him using all sorts of random builds.
-
Having played him a lot more over the last few days I feel the only thing that really needs to be sorted apart from the obvious bugs is his lunge hitbox needs to be increased. Other than that he actually feels okay now I've kinda worked out when and when not to use his power. I've also got more tier 3 perks and a few good builds so that also helps. I haven't lost a game with him in about the last 15-20 games since last night based on a 3k win.
I've been using the add-on that increases his first lunge by 20% and decreases the 2nd lunge by 20%. It honestly makes his power so much more usable because you get much more value out of his first lunge and can basically use it effectively when you have the second one on cooldown. It's excellent for vaulting and quite often it catches people off guard because they expect a short lunge. It also means you aren't totally miles away if you miss or bug out on the second lunge. The 5% leather glove speed add-on is also good for small tiles and getting that little bit closer for your power. Best thing is they're both brown add-ons so you can use them pretty much indefinitely.

Any specific killer you're playing?
I really only get this issue with Sadako honestly.
Been playing Wesker pretty much all the time & haven't really checked it out on other killers.
I'll have a check though and see if it's exclusive to him. Funnily enough in that video I saw the YouTuber was also playing Wesker. Given how buggy he is at the moment it could actually be an issue with him.

Are you using Shadowborn by any chance? If not, do it! xd
No I don't run it in my normal builds. I do mess about with it occasionally, but don't want to make it a permanent perk I get so used to that I can't play without it lol.
I'll give it a bash though and see how much difference it makes with the stuns
-
@Percival_nxs said:
Last year pallet stuns were bugged, I think they fixed it by increasing the hitbox on the top part of the pallet, because thats the part where i get stunned from 50 feets
Yeah I remember them getting changed last year and getting stunned when approaching the pallet even from the side, but this feels even bigger now. It's like my all my distances from my muscle memory are way off on pallet and locker stuns since the last patch.
As I mentioned before even watching D3AD plays on YouTube a few days ago he was also surprised by the distance from a locker stun.
Not really sure what's going on but it feels off.

Sorry that was a joke. But yes it does feel like the pallet hitbox range has been increased
Haha no worries. I've noticed that the hitbox has also increased with head on locker stuns. I was watching D3AD plays on YouTube earlier and it also happened in one of his games with head one hitting him from pretty far away from the locker.
It's either some dodgy latency compensation going on or they have stealth buffed the hitboxes on pallet & locker stuns. It's happening pretty consistently to me so it feels like something is way off with the range.
With the head on stun I'm literally getting stunned if I'm standing at the 2nd locker (if there's 2 lockers next to each other) and nowhere near the main locker. It's like not only the front distance, but also the side distance feels like it's huge now.
-
@theblimp said:
If you can see the pallet you can be stunned by the pallet
That doesn't make sense. If you have the pallet in your vision but can still clearly see ground space between yourself and the pallet then you shouldn't be stunned by it.
I know they sorted out hitboxes for pallets ages ago and I haven't really played consistently for a while now, but the hitbox feels larger than it did before.
-
Just tried to play him again and his power is god awful on anything other than dead zones and long corridors & even then you better hope you don't get stuck on a crack in the floor or the survivor doesn't just move slightly to the left or right.
Don't even bother trying to use his power on any tiles or junk loops it's pointless and you'll just end up spending significantly more time than just chasing and doing a basic attack. Vaulting pallets is pointless you might as well just break them it pretty much takes about the same time and the survivor will still gain enough distance to make it to the pallet again and you'll have to break it anyway.
Overall I'm extremely disappointed and basically just wasted £4 on another poorly designed killer.
-
He feels pretty bad on console. As others have mentioned his hitbox is very small and more often than not you miss completely and end up miles away. He often gets stuck on seemingly random invisible things. Like I've lunged a target head on multiple times at a wall and he just stops directly in front of the survivor and does nothing, even though there's nothing in my path. His power feels really slow and pointless on even small loops, it's very easy to counter and just line of sight effectively making you an M1 killer.
He feels okay on larger maps with more dead zones, but again he still has issues with his small hitbox and getting randomly stuck on textures. I don't think it's going to take people very long to figure out his limitations with his power.
-
At the moment I can barely finish one game without just closing the game. I have all Killers and I just flick through them like I'm looking for something to watch on Netflix because I can't be bothered playing any of them lol.
To make things worse I've been playing call of duty a fair bit and whenever I decide to play a killer it feels like I'm walking at a snails pace because COD is so fast. I actually thought Nurse bugged out at one point because it felt so slow lol.
-
Yeah I've uninstalled the game twice now since the reworks. It honestly feels like I'm playing a different game.
There's so many times that completely miss my basic attacks or lose the player when they FOV me. The weird thing is that the FOV Tech looks incredibly slow on my screen, but for some reason even though I can visually see the player in my FOV the basic attack misses. If I lose sight of them even for a split second I can lose the target very easily.
Prior to this on the series X I would say the game ran pretty smoothly although I feel like it's gotten progressively worse over the last 8 months or so performance wise. I honestly just can't be bothered waiting like 5-10 mins on a game to play something that feels so unresponsive and sloppy. The amount of times I'm saying "how the F did that not hit" had increased significantly.
-
Evil Dead is really good. Been playing the last 10 days or so and it's fun. DBD started to get a bit stale for me recently, but I'll be playing both games. I'll probably focus evil dead until I get bored then back to DBD & just alternate between both.
Survivor is much more fun for me personally in Evil Dead & I'll probably focus on them in Evil Dead as my mains. I still prefer playing killer in DBD over Evil Dead. I've only lvled one demon so far though so need to check out the others.
It's definitely got potential to be a top contender to DBD though, even though the gameplay is very different. If they keep in top of bugs & balance with regular DLC then it could be a game that is very successful.
It also has a pretty solid single player aspect to it that could potentially lead the game into many different modes of gameplay & co-op type objective matches.

Also since this thread is already here, I might as well just copy/paste what I said in the smaller thread since I only saw that as it was in General before it got moved here. I forget that Off Topic exists at times (really at all times because for the most part, I'm on the DBD forum to talk about DBD :D)...
I bought the Deluxe Edition and I am kind of regretting that
Not because the game is bad but it's a good game with a ton of potential. But that's mostly all it is right now; potential
If you think DBD plays out the same every match, wait until you play five Evil Dead games in a row.
As a survivor, you need to get through as fast as possible because the longer you wait, the stronger the demon gets. The demon at the very beginning is such a non threat that survivors will commonly just split up to do stuff because the demon can't one v one anyone at all until they get a good 15 minutes of time in the game to get strong enough. There are four classes but ultimately they play out pretty similar.
The demon games have the same issue except your first 15 minutes or so is you being as effective as a wet fart against the survivors. You have to hope your mosquito attacks are annoying enough to slow down the survivors long enough for you to actually get some decent powers. There are three classes of these but again, it plays out super similar as there's really no real concrete difference in demon types.
It's similar to the wild swing in who is OP as DBD except instead of brand new baby players versus vets, it all happens in one game. Once the demon becomes powerful enough, there's not a whole lot the survivors can do about it. Unless the RNG screws you of course (good God how many times have I been a demon who was exorcised 800 damn yards away from the last objective while the survivors are right next to it; the last thing I need to defend is 3/4 the way through by the time I get to it).
It's a fun game and being only $40 is helpful but right now it's a shallow experience that needs a lot more to it besides name brand if it plans on sticking around.
Exactly dude you said it yourself. You forgot this forum even exists like 99% of people that use the forum. They don't need to outright ban it they just need to dump it here so no one ever reads it. Banning it would just make people talk about it more.
I mean general discussion forum doesn't specifically state that it should just be DBD topics. In fact it even states that it's a forum for general discussion on varied topics.
Basically they're threatened by this game and want to minimise it's exposure.
-
I'm loving it!
Playing survivor is significantly more rewarding & satisfying than playing either killer or survivor in DBD & much less stressful.
I'll still be playing DBD, but Evil Dead has definitely got my attention at the moment.
In a side not I made another post about it in general chat like 5 mins ago & it automatically got moved to off topic lol. I guess BHVR see that game as a serious threat to the playebase.

Well I don't agree that playing 5 games then everything feels the same. There's multiple builds & tactics to be had by every Demon and more getting uploaded every day.
The survivors are completely unique to each other, but fit into a class role & all have different talents and talent trees. You also have a huge variation of team compositionsc that can be effective with multiple builds associated with each team.
If you're playing Demon effectively you definitely aren't spending 15 mins hitting like a wet noodle. A necromancer can dominate the game in 5 mins if they catch someone slightly out of position. You spec into basic portals & traps then place your flutist in a good area & you can literally down someone in a few mins & then the game can snowball from there very fast.

@HexADHD said:
The demon on there seems even weaker than the killers in dbd. I've yet to see demon actually do anything a single game.
Nah the Demons are OP once you level them to 45. I've only leveled Necromancer to max level & had quite a lot of multiple winstreaks with him. There's some games you just outright overpower the survivors in under 5 mins if you get an early find on a survivor. The Puppeteer is even more OP when played by a good player, but his powers rely on a completely different build.
Survivor can be mega OP also though with the right class comp & high levels. I'm doing Army of Darkness Ash at the moment & at lvl 20 he's becoming an absolute beast.
-
I've seen accounts advertised for sale for less than $20 that claim to have every character unlocked with all t3 perks, 1000's of items/addons etc.
If it's as simple as using some basic hack to achieve this I'm not surprised people openly hack this game. I mean if it's as simple as buying a new account for next to nothing & using it to hack for a few months before getting banned & then buying another account for peanuts then there's really nothing in place to deter people from this type of behaviour.
It's quite worrying though that an actual hack like this exists in the first place. There must be some major flaws in the game code & detection software to allow everything to be unlocked that easily.
-
I don't understand how people get tunneled game after game. I mean on average you should only be getting tunneled once in every four games & that's providing that every killer player you face tunnels someone.
If someone is getting tunneled you should probably be down to at least 3 gens left to do by the time they die or even close to 2 gens left. The game is still very much in a 50/50 win/lose state for both sides.
Survivors fail to realise that if a killer has 4 survivors left by the time 2 gens are left then it's pretty much 99% lose in most cases. You can be down at 2 gens within a few minutes. One of the biggest mistakes that causes you to win or lose a match as a killer is choosing at what point you need to tunnel to win. If you ignore that injured survivor who's on death hook and opt to chase another and suddenly you are on 2 gens then you screwed up & will most likely lose or draw. If you take them out you significantly increased your chance to win the match.

Happens to me at least once every game.

I knew it was a freebie but why does that equal more cheaters? Does it make it easier or something?
Probably people making free accounts for free for the sole purpose of hacking. You have nothing to lose if you don't pay for the game.
-
The only addons I use are the range addons & I think they're probably some of the most useful non purple/Iridescent addons out of all killers currently in the game. You can get some insane snipes even with just 1.5m range increase. Stack that to 2m or 2.5m & you have some insane range. All the other addons are pretty poor though & I really don't see why I would take any of them over the range addons.
-
I tried it when I was working away from home recently and uninstalled it after a few days. As you mentioned the match making is absolutely awful. I had the exact same experience. One yellow perk as a killer and constantly matched against full tier 3 perked teams. It's also clunky as hell & I could feel my thumbs aching after a few games.
I guess if they offered controller support it would be a much better experience. Funny thing is that it's perfectly acceptable to have keyboard & mouse players matched against console, which gives a massive advantage, yet they don't want to create a advantage on mobile by giving controller support. Double standards.
Another thing I noticed is that you can barely mind game a loops. Even slow vaults back & forth seem to be very hard to catch as a killer.
I guess the population is pretty small & they struggle to find killers to match against experienced players so they just throw in first timers to keep queue times down. It's also just as toxic as playing the real game and I'm guessing there are people out there that take it seriously enough to actually go out their way to set up some kinda emulator to play it on PC and gain a huge advantage.
-
Even on next gen the game is starting to feel pretty poor. I just had a month off due to working away from home & I'm getting at least 1-2 big lag glitches every match now. Chases are starting to feel pretty poor & unresponsive when I try to do a basic non lunge attack often resulting in missed hits when the person in pretty much in front of me in my FOV. It's not uncommon to completely lose the player after landing a hit if they spin during the attack. I'm guessing frame drops during the attack and damage animation with the speed boost just make the target very hard to track on some maps.
-
When I first started playing a few years ago I got about 10 in a week or so and then decided to change my settings to messages from friends only. That was on Xbox. Apparently it's okay to send toxic messages on Xbox as long as you dont swear.

honestly, i'm not sure how you can play nurse/blight on console (controller?). that just seems incredibly difficult. that being said those are the only 2 killers that lower my blood pressure when i play them. i hate the normal chase design and they (especially nurse) help escape it.
Yeah I'm probably putting myself though unnecessary stress trying to get better at them playing on console lol. I do find I get the most satisfaction from any killer when I make good plays with them though so that kinda keeps me going. I've definitely improved significantly over the last month with them, but it's been a struggle particularly with Nurse. I've even started enjoying Hillbilly & Oni on console, which I never thought would happen lol.
-
Perk tiers exclusive to your prestige level. I.e p3 only gives t3 perks. Still a long a*" grind if you wanted to get all characters with all unlockables with that system.
-
Yeah he's pretty good even on console. I've been practicing with him using all the blood point perks & even then I quite often get like 3k with him. Once I get better & start running a proper build I can see him being very strong.
Now Nurse on the console is another story I've also been practicing with her and I'm very slowly getting better, but still can't consistently play good with her. She's pretty unique & quite addictive to play so I'll stick with her until I'm half decent with her.
The only killers I really don't like on console are hillbilly, Oni & Trickster. Huntress is also a bit annoying because her shots are so slow, but I think you could become pretty good with her if you practice enough.
-
I've seen a YouTube video of people using a hack that prevents you missing skill checks. Basically the whole circle is solid white and you can stop it anywhere & get a great skill check. Subtle hack that you probably won't notice, but that extra progression would add up from great skill check.

Took a few months break from this game and just returned recently. This was my first time playing killer to do some rituals that were stacking up. I tried playing like I always do (no camping, attempting to not tunnel) while trying to run some decent perks. Needless to say it is exactly how it was when I left and quit out. I can't play a lot of killers without a team of SWF stomping all over my playstyle regardless of what I do. Drop a chase? Next person runs while the one I was chasing gets on the gen. Chase the survivor? All the gens get worked on with no consequence. Finally catch up to that one survivor? Well it doesn't matter because they have Dead Hard and most maps have enough pallets to toss them carelessly and still have a few left when you are done. Worst part is this MMR system is supposed to be so great but I keep losing all 4 survivors for matches in a row and the games don't get any easier.
So...
I decided to swap to my Leatherface, throw on a basement build and camp the life out of anyone who dared set foot for a save. I could only imagine the smug look being wiped off their faces as they all died and now I'm thinking about playing this way permanently because I'm tired of dealing with all the bs
Facecamping is the killer equivalent of that one survivor who stands up on a ledge and does absolutely nothing but flash light click you all game because they have boil over.
I.e both players bring absolutely nothing to the game, except disappointment to the other 4 people in the match.
-
You definitely have to be a certain type of player to enjoy playing killer all the time. Regardless of what your intentions are when playing is still significantly more stressful than playing survivor. You have to constantly be alert & making decisions that dictate how to game will end.
Survivor on the other hand is way less stressful and doesn't require as much focus.
When playing killer gets too frustrating you should play survivor for a bit. I would say becoming a good looper is harder than becoming a decent killer, but if you can manage even to start running the killer for 45-60 seconds it will help you significantly when you go back to playing killer. It also gives you an appreciation of what is like to be in the receiving end of some of the more toxic killer play styles i.e Facecamping all game.
-
I just started playing her recently on Xbox and it's definitely the hardest killer to learn on console. Feel like I'm slowly getting somewhere. Must have played about 20-30 games so far and sometimes it all comes together and I feel like I'm finally getting it and have a really good few games then next game I get owned lol. I like just throwing on tracking perks & going for chases all game to practice the blink distance & attacks. She's actually quite addictive in comparison to playing other killers once you start to become semi proficient at landing the hits.
-
Yeah I've noticed I get stuck on lots of stuff these days during a chase, especially on plant life on certain maps. Yamaoka Estate bamboo shoots are the worst, there's some loops around certain rock formations that you literally stop dead in your tracks when a survivor runs through them.
-
It's definitely to hide the fact that the MMR system just doesn't work. Imagine the forum rage if for instance you're a 1500 rated killer & you were to face multiple SWF all 1900 rated for like 3-4 games in a row or you're a solo survivor with an average team rating of like 1300-1400 & you face multiple killers at 1700+ rating. The forum would be littered even more than it is now with threads about how bad the MMR system is with screenshots to back it up.
The simple fact is that it has to be that way or high MMR survivor teams AKA SWF would need to wait a very long time in queue to be matched to a suitable killer. Mid to low MMR would most likely be fine though.
-
Definitely not worth it. I done it on pyramid head & doctor and regret doing it although pyramid heads is pretty cool I still don't think the regrind is worth it.
Maybe if you have all killers at lvl 50 and have a survivor main with all the perks you want then it would be worth slowly doing 1 at a time, but definitely don't start with 2 characters that you like to play (like me) and mess up the perk build you spent a lot of time building.
-
Cheers folks definitely a steep learning curve that's for sure. Starting to get a bit more consistent with the blink attacks & I guess I'll be needing a lot of games before I can play her properly.
-
Can't balance a game that has 3 separate elements to balance. Nerf SWF and solo suffer, Buff solo & SWF get out of control, buff killer to match SWF & solo suffer. Never ending cycle of one side suffering due to one element being too strong. Only real winners that will stay on top after any changes are SWF.
The only possible way would be to apply some kind of handicap to SWF teams, but that would most likely require a complete overhaul & months (maybe years) of tuning to get it right.
-
I notice the disappearing hack a lot. It's usually after a M1 attack they literally teleport from my position and gain a huge amount of distance or outright vanish. I guess that subtle hack is used a lot because it's masked by the speed boost and you have a number of things to deal with in those few seconds after M1 hit like tracking & direction. I look at the perks and they aren't running anything like overcome. It became really apparent to me after I started playing survivor a bit & realised that you just can't get the same distance as some of these players from the speed boost from an M1 attack. Sometimes their scratch marks just stop randomly at a lone rock or something with no trace of them (with no perks like iron will etc).
It's possible that it isn't even a teleport hack and maybe they have all exhaustion perks like sprint burst, dead hard, overcome, lithe etc that are being chained together with no cool downs. I've seen videos of players having every perk in game so it's definitely a hack that's going about.
-
Yeah definitely feels like it's being graded differently. Had about 6 games earlier tonight and faced multiple SWF in a row. Coordinated body blocking, flashlight saves, gens popping fast, good loopers, multiple meta perks. Kinda boring and annoying when you just want to have a few games with random killers and perks. Feels like I need to play with strong killers and builds if I want to get 3-4k & play sweaty, which I can't be bothered doing for every game these days.
-
Best thing you can do is just turn off endgame chat / block messages from outside of friends list. You will literally never have to deal with any BS and can play how you like.
As far as torch clicking and stuff goes you basically just become numb to it after a while and can even use it to your advantage. Most clickers want to be chased and will spend time trying to get your attention rather than doing gens. Ignore them and tunnel their weakest team mate out the game and eventually you'll catch them mid to end game if you're controlling the game.
They could however add a some RNG element to clicking by making the bulb break after 3-5 clicks in a short time period. If the bulb breaks the survivor loses the item regardless if they escape. That would be enough of a deterrent I think to tone it down.

The chat cruelty is disgusting😔
On console, to send a message, a group must be created
i’ve had messages turned off on DBD for 5 years. Even more satisfying is the fact that up until last year, disgruntled PS players were wasting their time typing their hate/toxicity into a chat box, then, upon trying to send the messages, were hit with the “cannot add some players due to their settings,” and whatever misery they were compelled to allow themselves to be overwhelmed by during the match was potentially magnified to a new level when they realized that I’d never be forced to participate in their guilt tripping or gaslit into their sinister toxic trap. I wouldn’t be inflicted by them in any way. I’d never feel their suffering at all... just unlimited power😌

Mmr is wonky by the way, like, to the extreme of being janky. I get matched with hella skilled god loopers on killers I’ve only played a few x’s... it’s lopsided n bogus, imo
Yeah I do the same on Xbox it gives me some satisfaction knowing that these players who want to send me hate mail are denied the opportunity post match. It's like the final nail in the coffin after I crushed them in a game. It also allows me to go into a match and just mess about with weak killers and perks without being called a trash bot because I only got 1-2k.
If only they moderated the end game chat like they throw out bans & jail time on the forums for the most trivial things. The reporting system is a joke!
-
1. Stop caring about winning all the time.
2. Mix it up by playing different killers than usual.
3. Mess about with random builds.
4. Have a blood point farmer with 4 BP perks & go for hooks & chases.
-
At the lower end of MMR it seems pretty insignificant & can be dealt with easily. It's only when you start facing it 8/10 games against people that can maximize its potential that it becomes a problem. 1-2 Dead hards that extend a few chases by 30-40 seconds can pretty much cost you the game.

Playing killer is great. The number one thing getting in your way is you seem to be unable to admit you need to improve and you just want to blame everyone else.
I play at high MMR. I never play sweaty. I try out different builds. I use most killers. I have fun with survivors that want to have fun. I still win most of my games.
The number one thing you need to do is stop worrying about winning and losing and what the survivors are doing to trigger you. If you lose, try and figure out what you can do to play better. You're making a ton of mistakes in your games. The first thing you should do is stick to a standard M1 killer until you learn to win with them. The games becomes so much more fun when you're not relying on the crutches that come from using an op killer and it becomes almost impossible for survivors to be toxic and trigger you once you've mastered the basic M1 gameplay.
There's no way you just win most of your games at high MMR playing random builds with random killers playing in a non sweaty manner. Once you're in that upper MMR bracket you play significantly more SWF & teams constantly running meta perks game after game.
I don't doubt that you play that way, but let's not pretend you just win most of your games doing random builds with weak killers.
And how does mastering your M1 game make survivors suddenly less toxic? You could literally play Deathslinger with zero perks and land 12+ metre shots all game & still be called toxic if you win. Becoming proficient at M1 gameplay doesn't magically cure how toxic the game can be for killers.

4) The Omen
5) Shaun of the Dead
6) Get Out
8) Predator
10) The Exorcist
11) Aliens
12) The Ring
13) A Quiet Place
14) Zombieland
15) The Lighthouse
16) The Wicker Man (1973)
17) Army of Darkness
18) Cube
19) Arachnaphobia
20) World War Z
Note that this site is basically a bunch of this-or-that comparison. You just keep seeing two movie posters side by side and pick the one you like better ad infinitum. It’s kind of addictive! 🙂 The above list also isn’t too bad, I do like all those movies quite a bit. (Child’s Play and Saw are the next two on the list, of those I could maybe see Saw edging into 19 or 20?)
I was actually an extra in World War Z. I was dressed as a mounted police officer with riding leggings & knee high leather boots lol. Quite a few of the scenes were filmed in Glasgow not far from where I live. I was also in another film called Outpost 2 also as a American soldier & you can actually see me in the movie trailer.
I'm not an actor or anything they just happened to be filming near me and I was at a loose end & managed to get a few extra roles. It was a fun experience.

Event Horizon & Jacobs Ladder are pretty freaky films for those that haven't seen them.

Terminator for sure. So many cool skins could be had.

At this point you really need next gen console to play the game without any issues. I played on Xbox one X for a long time and bought a series X a few months ago and it's 100 times better. Still isn't perfect but it feels significantly better to play.

My personal favourite is getting blinded from about 15m away from behind a tree/bush when it's pointing at the side of my head & I'm facing a wall 0.1m away. Like how would that even remotely be possible? The angles need to be reworked so that you at least have to be within like 120 degree arc to the front of the killer.
