One more reason I really wish they'd rework hook. Most corners only have 1 hook. Down 4 ppl in the corner... obvious problem.

Switch player here!
I've played on PC, Switch and PS5. The load times are drastically different.

Full control is established before any gens are completed. After that it is just fun and play, having a good time.
Ironically I feel like you letting them go is the reason behind this. These survivors were SO green they couldn't do basic things. The current event leading to no one touching gens also kinda invalidates this as an example of an average game.

I discovered an issue on pc for loading. If the map is loading and you focus out of the game (like checking on discord/youtube or something), the load times becomes a LOT longer. What usually takes 10 seconds I've seen take up to 45 seconds. Its possible that long map loading times might be caused by other players dropping focus from the game while they wait for it to load.
Could also mean your playing with different people who play on different hardware. No matter how fast YOUR stuff is, you aren't gonna start before the teammate playing on a Switch.
-
Imagine ignoring 3 people because the next survivor you have to hook is the distortion+calm spirit Claudette in the bushes you haven't seen all game.

Yeah but it’s already good as is with Enduring and doesn’t need to be stronger with it. But without it, it’s nearly useless. Perks shouldn’t HAVE to be combined to be useful, unless it’s something like Undying where that’s the whole point.
It's OKish with enduring. Bit of a difference. Preferably it would be similar to hubris, a perk that you can still have a chance to get value as is. The fact that it's a hex perk is REALLY bizarre.
-
Some people don't want to meme anytime an event pops up. You're gonna have a lot of ppl who log in fairly regularly to play DBD, and a 3 week long event isn't going to have them stop playing the game normally. It would be one thing if the event was a separate game mode like how Overwatch does things... but it's not.

what a video, showcases the biggest issues dbd currently has: ftp buckle up, bt body blocking with following ds (and this **** is getting buffed), spammability of boons and yes, tunnelling but it's justified after all this bs. if there was a map offering it would be perfect.
and the ftp plays offered so much counterplay here 🤡 definitely interactable, fun and balanced.
I thought it ironic that they were complaining about a survivor getting hooked back to back while they were denying OTHER hooks.
-
I think it's ironic that the devs programmed the bots to know someone has plot twist, but insist that actual players don't need that info.

Assume you're chasing Dwight and Meg follow.
- Dont you count the time Meg follow behind you waiting for Dwight to down?
- Dont you count the time Meg gets 60sec of Broken from FTP?
- Dont you count the time Meg runs around finding Clau or Jake to heal?
- Dont you count the time Meg gets healed by Clau or Jake?
- Dont you count the time Clau or Jake spending time to heal Meg?
- Dont you count the time Meg running around looking for Dwight again?
Or you think right after Meg pick Dwight up with FTP, Meg stands right under your feet healing with a Medkit that you count 16sec?
Or you think Meg Syringe to get healed up then doing Gen and following Dwight at the same time?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5LOCBYM4E10D/image.png
So where did you get that 16 number?
I actually saw a YouTube vid yesterday that made me think of this post.
https://youtu.be/vIrnB4c20oE?si=u6Rbg49MSecBSfy5At 1 minute into the vid, you see 2 survivors cranking out with 1 of em being injured against a Wraith. This would NORMALLY be a risky play, but FTP BU removed the risk. This didn't require wasted time on either survivors part.

Nah you just meant we were not here and we did not agree with drop vaults which was not true for me. Can't talk for others tho. It was very annoying bug and i am glad it fixed.
It does not matter which side exploits it, bugs need to be fixed.
It's kind of a matter of what the devs think should be fixed vs what the game should embrace. The concept of LOOPING wasn't an intended feature, but rather than making the hitboxes between killers match survivors to "fix" it, they just went with it.

Q: Can you provide clarity about the infamous black bubble which appears over props like gens and hooks? This black bubble temporarily obstructs aura reading from perks like Kindred and Bitter Murmur. Both perks lose immediate value until the sphere overlay dissipates.
Since its introduction, the community has received conflicting responses about this (un)intended behavior.
A: Infamous indeed! Though it has some disliked interplay with props and auras, the black bubble serves a purpose as it stands and we don't have current plans to address it directly, BUT... I can tell you that we have recently greenlit a rework to our aura system that we are planning to move forward with sometime soon-ish (famous last words, ha ha). It won't change the black bubble, but it should make auras better! -Mike
Seriously, this is a complete and utter horsedung. Auras such as bitter murmur worked before it overlapped the black bubble but then the black bubble suddenly overlaps the auras and they said it's an intended feature, and now they're going to make an entire rework out of thin air? Jesus christ.
Having blind spots on the screen sucks whether it's for auras or not. Imagine taking a hatchet to the face because you can't see the Huntress aiming at you after a hook, or BEING a Huntress and not being able to aim at survivors properly after they do a gen.

Shadowborn, I have no earthly idea. The glowing idea is neat, though.
It wouldn't surprise me if moniter gets an added effect, similar to what happened to BT after endurance on unhook became basekit.

Lery now, much brighter.

Glowing would be so useful back then, but I dont feel it worths a perk slot now.
It can be handy when looking at larger areas. If you are looking around on a hill on a corn map for example, getting what's essentially aura reading for anyone in your LOS can help separate survivors from corn or bushes.
-
The theory on killer "names" is that they are given by the survivors who face them. The guy in the doctor's coat is "The doctor". The guy dressed like a clown is "The Clown". A survivor who sees Hag isn't likely to realize she's fairly young, so referring to her as The Hag to each other isn't that odd.
-
In all fairness, there's very few examples where a perk becomes completely unusable. Thinking about it, its basically only the perks no mither and sprint burst that do this.

I will believe that whenever i see.
I'm talking developers in general, not just BHVR. If there's a hack going around and you ban them immediately, it's like announcing HOW they were caught and they can alter the next hack to counter that. If you ban everyone in a wave... they kinda don't know what gave them away.

Of course. There are some weirdos out there who report anything. Tunneling, camping, bodyblocking (both sides btw.), using strong Loops (got once reported for using Balanced Landing on Disturbed Ward...) and many other things.
For some the Report-Button is just some form of frustration release.
Saw a video of a streamer who would report people for "abusing looping mechanics". It was literally just looping. He'd file a report like EVERY MATCH.

They are not banning people for exploits. I reported a lot of them with video records but non of them is actually banned.
Developers like to do ban waves, not ban 1 or 2 here and there. Just because they arnt banned YET, doesn't mean they won't be.

I can see how it's a bit annoying because AFAIK it doesn't have a cooldown and it can be constantly activated back to back but I don't think it's comparable to MFT.
The single scream can be procced back to back if you keep going after the new obsession, but the aura reading/exposed can at most be procced every other hook to a survivor who SHOULD know it's coming.

I hide in a locker and also use Distortion. I can avoid it usually but a SoloQ group cannot.
If you're new to this game, you don't even know what terms like 'Exposed' mean, much less that hiding in a locker blocks your aura.
I play in SoloQ, so I have two choices: wait for Hatch or max out my Altruism points.
That kinda sounds like a skill issue then rather than the perk being OP. You can say "newbies won't understand what's going on...NERF IT" for everything. The aura reading only procs for 1 person SOMETIMES, who SHOULD know it's about to happen. You don't get exposed coming into play after EVERY hook.
-
Did you by any chance check his perks? Lightweight messes with the spacing of scratchmarks.
-
I'm on PS5 and haven't had any problems with crashes. The only time I noticed any issues was when I'd leave DBD running in the background to watch YouTube and such. If I hopped back over hours later and see it's still on the bloodweb screen or something, I would risk a timed out message randomly popping up. I started resetting my game before getting into matches in those situations and haven't seen that message pop up ever since.

Same, lol. It's frustrating being up on a hook and seeing a teammate being COMPLETELY useless by hiding if the killer is on the map. At the same time though, getting away from charging via TR will allow you to get tokens on killers like Hag that you typically don't spend much time in the TR of.

I made a Chucky lose on Haddonfield. Where there’s a gen behind Laurie‘s house. Aim the pebble at the gen from up above on the rooftop in the next building over. The killer comes to check on the gen, and you’re out of their line of sight. If you hide in the shadow, and have proper clothing, they won’t see you on the roof. If you think they will just sneak back inside the building.
The gen is not worked on so the killers can’t kick it to trigger Nowhere to Hide. You continue to accumulate more pebbles in their TR as the killer looks everywhere but inside the building across!
That's pretty funny

Except this isnt unhealthy. At all. Its literally what survivors are supposed to do. Even if one is great in chases, it is more beneficial to hide and wait for the killer to leave in order to hop back on that gen.
And bringing comms into an argument does nothing. It will always skew balance. Its a non-issue.
If a survivor is hiding to the point of not even hook rescuing, or touching gens, but ONLY hiding, then yeah. That is stupid wrong and very bad on that player. Im sure on this everyone can agree. Just sounds like its all being lumped in together now. That's not a fair bowl of chili.
I feel like the problem is EXCESSIVE hiding. In the current iteration of distortion, a survivor hiding behind a rock all game gets the same use as a survivor doing things that help the team escape. The only change I think that should be made is to shift away from a passive token gain. Let the gen jocky and team healer get tokens, rather than the guy doing literally nothing but the bare minimum to avoid AFK crows.

Probably because the perk is active immediately. Even without tokens, the perk causes extra regression on missed skillchecks.

If that was the case, everything that hits PTB would make it to live without any changes. The fact that there ARE changes, or even complete cancelations in the case of the built in Unbreakable PTB... I think it's fair to conclude that you're wrong.
-
I think distortions effect is fine, but the token conditions need changing. This is FAR from a nerf, which is the thing I don't get why ppl are so against. Currently distortion is tied to the killer terror radius. Tying distortion to contribution rather than TR rewards players who are contributing while also giving survivors equal token charge against killers of ANY TR. This way your not struggling with tokens against a stealth killer/build.
If the killer on the other side of the map eats your token with BBQ... You wouldn't have to go cross the map and enter their TR to get that token back. Things like healing teammates, doing gens, opening exit gates, ect can fill the meter to get tokens.

Third Seal is pretty underrated. I used to use and fear Devour Hope on Nurse and was glad almost nobody used it on her, and now that Devour isn't really viable on her anymore, Seal Nurse is the next scariest thing that I'm also glad nobody is using. If you aren't on voice comms, any killer that can dish out hits fast and slug is pretty terrifying with Seal as finding people will be nigh impossible. And even on voice comms it isn't all that easy to navigate. Hooks can be difficult to find as well, particularly on indoor maps. It also counters aura perks and items of any kind, most notably things such as Windows Of Opportunity and Kindred.
I have used Third Seal a lot on Legion and Oni in the past, often alongside Infectious Fright. I like the gameplay loop of never having to pick survivors up, with little to no downtime, constant chases, no camping or tunnelling. Of course, Seal as any Hex isn't all too reliable, you want to use Undying and perhaps other Hexes alongside it if you actually build your gameplan around it. But I do think it can also be neat enough even without doing so, just benefitting from it for as long as it is up, changing plans once it isn't anymore.
For anyone that wants to give it a shot, it's really strong on Nurse and Alch Ring Blight, but if you aren't comfortable with those killers, Legion is the most reliable Seal abuser. Use Never-Sleep Pills and Mural Sketch and try to slash every survivor asap, so that everyone will be afflicted by Blindness and you can start slugging right off the bat. Ultimate Weapon is better than Infectious Fright these days, as it will not only allow you to find the next victim after downing a survivor, but also enable you to reliably chain your first hits. And it causes Blindness, which is beneficial should Seal get cleansed. It even helps you protect Seal, both because it enables you to find survivors on and around it, and because the scream will interrupt survivors trying to cleanse it. Undying is mandatory. The remaining perk slot can be used for various things. Usual suspects would be a gen perk such as Corrupt or Surge (or Pentimento/Ruin), or a chase perk like Bamboozle or Brutal Strength (or Blood Favour/Crowd Control). I have also often used Kock Out, for something to fall back on, although in that case I would rather not use Seal to begin with and rely solely on Knock Out.
It also works well on Trickster since he can proc it off 1 single blade
-
Would be nice if they allowed for better button configuration. 1 button should not be forced to do so many different things. This goes for both sides.

Beginners have never been in a good spot when it comes to DBD. The game is fairly complex and a lot of mechanics aren't all that intuitive. This change doesn't make it that much worse for survivors because these perks weren't used anyway. For killers it sucks that Surge is behind a pay wall again but we somehow managed in the past, so I don't think it's that big of a deal either.
It would be nice to see some updates to the tutorial though, so new players have a better grasp of what actually goes on in the game.
Would be nice to see some changes to the general perks in general. Either add more or update them. Most of them are absolutely useless, and when you think about various perk types... it's no wonder newbies flock to NOED. NOED and Unrelenting are literally the ONLY chase perks.

Honestly, I think it would be fine if the perk recharged based off ANY action that progresses the game. Let it charge up from doing gens, healing others, ect.

As for those little cameos, I'd say the poster boy Trapper has to be referenced at some point.
I could see him being on a newspaper clipping or something

Would be cool if we got some new skins from this. Imagine getting a skin further wendigo from until dawn on Hag or something.

It was so funny when you managed to grab a survivor because they thought they would have time to finish the gen / cleanse the totem before the transition lapse.
That was priceless.
That's what alot of ppl did. I just wanted to try for more of a macro game with keeping as many ppl tagged at once and utilizing the aura reading, otherwise your just a worse Wraith with no map traversal and a really long uncloak.

I mained him too, you know? Which is why I was wondering about the endgame comments.
I never camped during the endgame, nor prepared much for it. I always tried to win before all the gens got done, but sometimes it just ain't possible.
What I would do in those situations depended on how many survivors were still alive, to be honest. But overall, I agree with the problem of not being able to top the unhook, which is precisely why I constantly mention the idea of giving him the Incapacitated status effect during the Transitions, as it literally solves the problem.
That would be nice, lol. I tried to avoid totem perks because even if you found a survivor cleansing it...you can't hit them. Find a survivor opening a gate, you MIGHT be able to stop it if it's just started but otherwise, they just continue. Find a survivor about to finish a gen and you just have to watch them finish.
Also if they get a skillcheck during any point of finishing a gen/healing in your face, the wasted time from failing it more than makes up for the 7 seconds of reset sleepy beam time.
-

Odd. I don't think I ever needed NOED on him. Like, ever.
Didn't play around the Endgame, either. My build would usually be something along the lines of: Old Ruin, Old BBQ, Thanatophobia and Brutal Strength. Add-ons changed from time to time, but I was really fond of increased range and less skill checks while asleep.
It was a good build, overall. Way better than NOED and Endgame perks.
What was your strategy with him? Because something isn't adding up here.
Just a normal strategy, but old Freddy had a mechanic where you had to tag someone with a sleepy beam before hitting them 7 seconds later. It made hook saves at endgame brain dead easy since even if you tagged someone running up to the hook, they'd have their teammate unhooked and on the way to the gate before you can get the first hit in. Without a 1 hit down... they just run out the gates with that much of a head start.
I actually liked using old class photo, which made overall juggling easier, but increased the sleep time to 9 seconds.

I'll have to take your words for it. I can't really imagine how exactly Freddy was played but that might also have something to do with how different the game was back then.
I do think however that his original design was way more interesting than today's. So, I'd be happy to see BHVR rework Freddy to be similar to that old design with some tweaks to adjust him to today's standards.
His old design of being unable to hit awake survivors made him feel horrible endgame. Always hated how ppl claim Freddy is an endgame killer just because of the perks he was released with. Watching someone run up to unhook in your face knowing you can't hit either person yet... sucks. Adrenaline kicking in to not only heal a survivor, but also wake them up to make them untouchable sucks.
I mained the crap out of old Freddy, but he was basically the only killer that NOED felt needed to have a chance at stopping any unhooks during endgame from just...running out the gates.
