I still think there should be comms and a text chat base game just so that survs can communicate (muteable obviously). Then balance around that. It's the only way to bring solo survs up to swf completely and make it so "nerfs" to swf(I have yet to see a nerf actually change anything to a group with good communication skills) don't decimate solo survs. The downside of course being that you'd have to rework a decent portion of the game to actually allow that level of communication (altering like 50% of the perks and actually balancing the gameplay around regular communication instead of balancing it around zero communication)
TBH they're probably already planning something like this given they're adding an in game friends list with the dedicated servers.
communication makes perks/addons that are meant to restict information kinda pointless. Knockout, 3rd seal and pretty much anything that gives the blindness effect would need to be reworked.

Would be cool if these were next to player names in the endgame chat as well. I had someone accuse me of tunneling them last night who I had NO clue who it was... Ironically ended up being the last survivor alive.
-
When I play a character no one else uses, I just feel unique...
-
Doesnt trapper only have 6 traps total? So if he wastes 3 of em to protect a totem... Hes practically powerless. To claim having to work through 5 gens with ruin up is OP against a powerless killer is laughable.
-
The rarity of the offering isnt meant to be a 1 to 1 comparison. Think of it like this... Lets say you have a 20% chance of getting a "rare" item and a 10% chance of getting an "ultrarare". Now remember that out of that 20% chance, you have like 20 different possibilities that the item could be, while the 10% chance has like 1... You getting a specific item out of the 20% chance pool of items is going to be less than the 10% chance item. Might not make sense while ebonies are more common than ivories, but THATS your reason why this happens.

Most of us have had this happen but instead of crying like a toddler we adapted and I bet most of us won that match. If you do not like a challenge and want a game that even simpler that this simple game already is there are easier games like My Little Pony Adventures.
Try suggesting an easier game than that...
-
Its normal that a character's popularity will drop off after its initial release, especially if no new cosmetics are added.
-
Been playing alot of Myers, but I like to swap around to Freddy, Clown, Bubba and Doc as well. Looking forward to seeing what they do to these killers. Use to spend alot of time on Huntress, but...Im pretty rusty now
-
@Peanits what are your thoughts on this topic? Seems ALOT of ppl had the same thought with mistaking the effect for aura reading.

Self-Care
Medkits are better, can slap an instaheal on that boy. And you heal faster. And the team can do what self-care does but faster as well
Agreed... Ive taken to just bringing a medkit with enough charges for 2 heals plus change. Typically you wont be in a situation where you have to heal yourself more than 2 times in the match, and the extra charges makes it so you keep the medkit after 2 heals.
-
I typically ALWAYS play solo when I play survivor. Had too many games where Ill join a team for SWF, just to get hugely peeved by them... If im playing solo, at least my teammates cant hear the stuff Im calling them and I get a different squad next game.
-
Why did you have to EXPOSE me to that...

I typically find perks that works well with my power, but two perks I almost always use are ruin+PGTW.
Ive been playing alot of Myers lately, but I did tack on those 2 on my NEW Freddy build. Didnt have ruin or PGTW on him before, but now we makes better work of them than before.

Oh. I thought that was just sloppy butcher. But now I know. Just like one of the huntresses Addons. When she hits someone with her hatchet it gives the mangled status effect. Thanks for telling me.
Sloppy butcher adds mangled (the antihealing) as well as hemorrhage (makes you leave more pools of blood on the ground that the killer can follow)

No doubt it can be effective on certain killers but in my experience it usually isn’t useful.
Not every perk is suppose to be good on EVERY killer though, which is half the fun of perks. I like looking at a killer's power and finding synergies with different perk builds.
-
@LuluTheLion13 said:
When I first started the game. I thought the exact same thing. But I always thought that the killer could see me and now I was one hit. But now I have been playing the game about a year now. I know what everything means. Except for the mangled status effect. I still don’t know what that means😂😂👍🏻
Mangled makes it take longer to heal. Just look at sloppy butcher for the most popular cause of mangled.
-
@GrootDude Often times the survivors dont realize how close to them the killer is. I use it on my Myers, who has a 8 meter TR typically due to using M&A. Works like a charm, lol. Also good on Huntress due to her 20 meter TR being shorter than nurse's 28 meter range. The survivors can hear the non-directional 45 meter hum, but may not realize JUST how close you are.

Agreed completely. That's why I do think that its still more heartbreaking when you play as a solo survivor.
Even when I have a close game as a killer, and hook someone when the last gen was done, and they they eventually save him and everyone lives, I dont get upset and actually give props for the group for playing so well to have everyone survive in the end.
But as a solo survivor, like yesterday, I played 3 straight games where we finished all gens, and I did at least 2 gens by myself, and I still died in the end. Its definitely still more hearbreaking playing as a solo survivor.
But I'm just glad though that I dont think anymore that killers are too OP.
Man, I was playing last night where I couldnt even kill any surivivors. At one point, It was even so bad I couldnt even hit a survivor. lol.
When its 2 survivors left, Ill normally HEAVILY judge someone for not getting an unhook. If the gens arnt finished, Ill walk WAY away and be like "You are NOT about to let him die on first hook..." Ill try doing this to both ppl and if both save eachother rather than just wait at hatch... Im pretty likely to just let em go. I got my BBQ stacks.
-
OP acts like winning against a Trapper who wasted half his traps is impossible with Ruin up... If the guy keeps coming back to the totem after you snap his traps... I feel like that would just be the perfect distraction to keep him away from the gens, lol.
@thesuicidefox If anyone had a toolbox, you couldve saboed the traps to prevent them from rearming. Then the killer would have half his traps broken placed around a broken totem.
-
The killer experience is typically SUPER easy at rank 20, expecially if you already have some knowledge about map layouts, perks and all that from your survivor experience. This can give ppl a false idea of what its like if they dont play it often. I remember talking with someone who barely touched killer and thought Wraith and old Freddy were OP because they could be invisible. In reality, things that work against rank 20s dont work nearly as well against rank 5s.

Even without it you can still get a lot of sneaky hits if they're asleep now that lullaby isn't directional; I've had people crouch down right in front of me because they thought I was approaching from the other side of their cover.
Ive seen alot of that too. Moments like that...i tend to get in character, lol.

Damn.
How irritating.
So if I equip insidious and stay still near a gen to try and surprise a survivor, asleep survivors will still hear the lullaby?
Yup... The insidious will still affect awake survivors, and will affect any perks reliant on TR (like borrowed time).
-
For plague, you miss out on points if your getting 1 shot downs. You got Iri on the first 2 categories for your hooks and gens, but I bet the other 2 categories were bronze.

Guys can we talk about how Resilence is basically old BNP? I mean i hit a survivor and they get to 0-100 a gen how is that fair?
Just counter it by NOT hitting them...

Give all killers a passive "DON'T F*CKING STARE AT ME!" status effect, so that when they charge or activate their powers while a survivor looks at them, it forces the killer to run to a corner and a real life ghost unplugs their Ethernet cable. However, all survivors keep their bloodpoints and offerings, while the killer returns to rank 20 and gets banned.
Perfect 👌 balance.
How do we hire these real life ghosts though?
-
A game having paid DLC doesnt make it pay to win, especially when MOST DLC can be gotten with ingame currency and the perks by themselves can be found in the shrine. Im pretty sure NONE of the licensed killers who cant be bought using shards are NOT considered high tier, while Nurse, Billy, Huntress (and hag on consoles) ALL rank higher.

True, make it so that if you look at him while he is revving his saw he enters a tantrum.
They really need to add that counterplay to more killers. Was a really grade A idea.

With op things like monstrous shrine, dcing is acceptable. Also, nurse buff when?
She needs to be AT LEAST 115% movement speed. I dont know why they dont like having killers as strong as Bubba.
-
Most OP perk in the game, has 0 counter. Theres a reason why EVERY killer runs it.

I was thinking to allow Clown to reload bottles individually. Atm its all or nothing, you either fill the bar for all your bottles or you get nothing, but If they gave him bottles WHILE reloading, it would let you reload half the bar to get half your bottles for example. This way, reloading mid-chase wouldnt feel as bad since you can get a bottle here and there as needed.
-
@HatCreature said:
@LordGlint Oooh that would be a good buff, less reload time per bottle.
Just figured it would be similar to how alot of games let you reload shotguns per shell.
-
Im just imagining shirtless David getting the exposed status effect on the preschool map, lol. I can understand the misunderstanding though, as alot of newbies think its aura reading or something. Maybe they can call it "Vulnerable" or something? Thoughts?
-
One buff for Clown that I was thinking of was maybe to allow him to reload on a per bottle basis. By this I mean, If your max bottles is 4 and you reload half the bar...you get 2 back instead of nothing. If you only need to reload 1 bottle, the bar will fill up much faster as opposed to trying to reload 4 bottles. I think little things like this can go a long way.
-
Ive tested him using Insidious and it doesnt seem like his TR affects his visibility. Another thing to note is perks that affect TR does nothing at all to his Lullaby that survivors will hear while asleep. That has a fixed range at 32 meters.

I disagree. One time, I found an awesome way to hack this apple pie. I hacked it on the counter and on the oven. I used ground cumin as my secret ingredient but don't tell noones.. was so good.
then there was the time I hacked this gutter that was leaking. I hacked it till it hurt.
I hacked DBD by putting vaseline all around the screen. It's sooooo much easier to see the hex totems that way. They get so shiny it hurts your eyes sumtimes.
ALL THESE HACKS!!! YOU MONSTER!!!

Eventually ppl will learn that windows are not force fields.

This has got to be bait... Thats like saying criminals do crimes, so OBVIOUSLY cops are allowing crimes to happen instead of instantly stopping criminals before they can do anything.

Well yes and no. Right now everything being released is so under powered that the meta has been stagnant for a VERY long time now.
Basically dead hard, adren, DS and filler.
Its basically been a no heal meta for survivors and ruin, enduring, spirit fury and filler.
They need to start either nerfing the high pick rate perks or buffing substantially bad ones and try to make them more tempting than what is already available and overpicked.
A crap ton of streamers are getting burned out by the meta because its become unfun to go against the exact same thing over and over and over and over
Your saying "filler" as a catch all... They ARE buffing perks, the latest best example is PGTW. There's also PLENTY of viable perks out there, not just 4 on each side.

You know... My Post keyword is "strong"... Please no "OP" word here, I'm gagging it.
Were not you having fun with MoM at first ? Old DS , borrowed time, or moonwalking Legion etc ? Yeah you did ;D
Revert it cause it's "too strong" and nobody use it anymore cause its gutted to death... Whats the point of being creative then ? When everyone praise the flatline god of "balance" ?
Balance can have peaks. It doesnt change the weight on both sides of it.
Edit : added some "
So your saying there's no such thing as something being OP, it would just be "strong". If survivors got a perk that required it took 37 hits to down them instead of 2, that would be fine, right? A perk like that would change the Meta, so yay... Except no one would wanna go against it, so ppl would quit playing and the game would die. It's healthier for the game to have a perk like Monstous shrine than it is to have a perk that's TOO "Strong".
-
Making something UP is healthier for the game than making something OP. If its UP, ppl can just simply not use it if they dont want to. If its OP, ppl dont have a choice of not going AGAINST it. Right now, theyre not trying to make perks that are BETTER than the "meta" perks, but rather are on the same lvl. The buff they made to PGTW for example really made it more usable without making it OP.
-
I think stealth would be Aton more viable since perks like whispers wouldn't be in play.

Speaking from Vanilla Experiment experience, killers have an advantage over survivors when playing vanilla. In almost all games I played the killer won.
How was the ranking for that though. I know during PTB, I get aton of potato teams cuz the matchmaker throws ranks completely out the window.
-
A system like this would be helpful on MANY games. I don't think it's completely out of the realm of possibility since I know with Warframe, when they release a new version on a different platform, they allow you to swap from PC to that platform for a limited time.
-
DEFINITELY get BBQ. Your Freddy will love it once you get him. BBQ is almost never in the shrine, pretty sure its only ever been in there once.

@SensualPotato said:
I do agree that if the survivor has been fully healed up, then DS should become inactive again. So even if no major changes were applied to DS, that change alone would feel fair. If someone becomes healed up, I shouldn't be getting DS'd again for downing them quick.
There's unfortunately a lot of different situations that can occur, and I'm just trying to consider all of them to brainstorm DS changes that still allows it to be a fair and strong perk. Just lately, it seems like DS also punishes non-tunneling killers.
I figured this would also prevent people from being "safe" while they unhook someone, repair a gen, ect. I see alot of ppl suggest just slugging, but many ppl have been taking to just jumping into the nearest locker if the killer comes their way to PREVENT slugging.
