Ok, please tell me what other killer can ignore solid walls while traveling the map faster than any other killer and yet still somehow being counted as a m1 killer? None? Oh!

Of course she can do that : It's the nurse basic power ... welcome in DbD.

    So, git gud ?

Survivor mains only want to play vs M1 killers,,and even then no noed allowed ,no camping ,slugging even if it's the correct play and god forbid they bring strong gen perks ,,Jokes aside though,,her range addons are BUSTED ,,those i'd gladly nerf

The range addons are strong, and give her and advantage, especially on certain situations, but are not OP, I think ๐Ÿ˜‹

On the contrary, when a nurse makes a 20-30m-blink, it's even easier to double-back her ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Another post where we hear the same eternal refrains asking to weaken the nurse, because she is too strong ... Nurse is good, her basekit is good too, and her addons too.

Besides the fact that you should question yourself, and your ability to play against her, I would like to ask you the following:

could you record the next games in which you play against these famous "bad nurses too strong", so that we can judge your ability to play against them.

I bet what you want that in the end, we will be able to see that your way of playing against her is technically very low level ๐Ÿ˜‹

And when I hear some people say that "main nurses" just want to dominate the game ... it makes me howl with laughter : as a main nurse, I would much rather have survivors in front of me who allow me to have an interesting game with an unpredictable outcome, than survivors that I kill in 2 minutes ๐Ÿ˜Š

After ... if the survivors are too lazy to get up and learn the mechanics that work on the nurse ... that's THEIR problem ๐Ÿ™„

Oh, I forgot: I also play survivor, and I love to face the nurse. Because with each game, you learn a little more how to fake it.

You should really try it ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • "unless you go full meta and even then you will go down in extra +20 sec"

The question is rather: does an expert and optimized nurse against an expert and optimized team win every time? ๐Ÿค”

"wouldn't be as bad if range and recharge didn't exist."

Wouldn't be bad if survivor if the survivors would spend a little more time practicing playing against the nurse, instead of constantly complaining on the forums ๐Ÿ˜‹

  • On dark maps, you can't see any further or any closer than on light maps; you just have to adapt a little bit more, which makes it even more horrifying ๐Ÿ˜€

  • "Or ... the survivors can also do something called gaining experience in the game, training to get to know the locations better and better as the game goes on ๐Ÿคจ

Why do we always have to want to have everything handed to us on a platter ๐Ÿ™„

On the contrary, it is so stimulating and satisfying to discover new things with each game, to say to yourself: "Oh, but wait, I didn't know you could do that here ... great!" ๐Ÿ˜€"

What, is it that hard to progress on your own rather than being taken by the hand? ๐Ÿ˜

  • @Jinxed said:

I can't understand why people are enjoying this mechanic ๐Ÿ˜‚ how is basically being blind fun for anyone and not just extremely annoying.

Why do ppl like the nightfall ?

As far as I am concerned, it is simply because :

    - it brings a stressful and horrific dimension to the game

    - it changes the visual appreciation of the map (seriously, visually, you rediscover the maps, it's just great)

    - it is new, innovative and original

  • I have a phobia of cars, could we remove all the cars from GTA and rally games, please, so I can still play them?

What I just said is certainly ironic, but it sums it up pretty well.

  • It's unbelievable to see how much players are sometimes assistants at the point of complaining about a gameplay element (the nightfall) which, on the contrary, is, I think, absolutely brilliant, and which puts directly in the atmosphere!

At worst, let's implement a button "Press to win the game", it will be faster ...

Note: I play both killer AND survivor and I LOVE to face the Dredge.

  • Or ... the survivors can also do something called gaining experience in the game, training to get to know the locations better and better as the game goes on ๐Ÿคจ

Why do we always have to want to have everything handed to us on a platter ๐Ÿ™„

On the contrary, it is so stimulating and satisfying to discover new things with each game, to say to yourself: "Oh, but wait, I didn't know you could do that here ... great!" ๐Ÿ˜€

  • (Something that has nothing to do with the game, because I read something in this thread about phobias that made me jump.

Yes, phobias can be worked on. Hypnotherapy works wonders for example, if of course the person who has the phobia in question is willing to work on it. )

  • DbD is a horror game.

Well, it's supposed to be a horror game.

I say "supposed to", because I have to admit that after playing the right amount of games, from the survivor's point of view, it's more like hide-and-seek ... when it's not the killer himself who gets victimized.

The only moments when you are startled are when you step on a trap, or when you play against a scratched mirror Myers.

And as a result, the Dredged FINALLY brings some horror into the game.

FINALLY, a killer who is something other than a human gone bad!

FINALLY, a killer who is something else that is not human (the demogorgon and the plague were the first steps towards this loss of humanity, with the Dredge, we reach something really interesting)!

FINALLY, a killer whose music is scary and oppressive!

FINALLY, a killer who brings something unhealthy, creepy to the game lore and to the atmosphere of the game!

FINALLY, a killer who is a little bit coherent with the word "horror":

FINALLY, a killer that asks the survivor to think in a way that is less basic than: "Me go through window; me drop pallet; me leave this loop and go to the other loop. I win. Me so hard."

Because let's be honest, if I take for example Legion or Farceur ... how to say ...

So: very clearly: we FINALLY have a killer that most closely matches the definition of what horror should be.

If you can't stand this killer, it's unfortunate to say but ... don't play a horror game.

Because if you don't, what do we do with those who have a phobia of clowns? Delete the clown?

The phobia of blades? Remove all weapons and give stuffed animals to the killers instead?

The phobia of masks? Delete Myers?

    Puke phobia? Delete Plague ?

Disease phobia? Delete Hague and Plague ?

Bird phobia? Do we remove the artist and ... the game?

The phobia of blood? Do we remove ... the game?

The phobia of dead animals? We delete Coldwin farm?

The Dredge is fine as it is.

The night it brings down is not too dark at all, and the atmosphere it gives off is creepy as hell.

Personally, I think the developers could have made the atmosphere even more unhealthy!

And I say that having played against him !

  • A single game is not representative.

If at the end of this single game, the nurse has made 4K, some smart guys will conclude that she is OP.

If she makes 0k, others will conclude that she sucks.

Basically, people know that playing against a nurse is possible. They just don't want to admit... that they are lazy to practice ๐Ÿค”

Just because most survivors don't make the effort to learn how to counteract the nurse doesn't mean that the nanny "has to be nerfed", right.

Instead of always complaining that the evil nurse is way too strong (when in fact she isn't), come up with ideas to improve/optimize some of her add-ons that aren't really that great ๐Ÿ˜

    • We will explain to survivor main how to counter a nurse
    • Survivor main will argue that despite this counterplay, it's still easy to get 4k with nurse at any elo
    • We will ask for winstreak video proof to back up this claim
    • Survivor main will ignore this request because unable to do it

  • @pseudechis said:

Yeah basically people think there is one way to play the game and anything that changes that up is somehow bad and needs to be changed or removed.

Its possible to loop, run and pallet stun nurse but just like playing nurse it requires practice. Most players don't want to put in that effort they just want to loop every killer the same way.

Anti loop is fine in fact its healthier for the game than killers that don't have it. The less viable chases are the more viable hook defence is and everybody hates camping but they don't want to see the viability of killer chase buffed.

So they want a set up where they can play bold all the time, endlessly loop and have anti camping protection all in one, which is just nuts. If it comes to that might as well just call it survive by daylight because the threat of death will keep getting weaker and weaker.

    That's exactly right.

Some survivors learn to play against the nurse, and manage to get by.

Others (like me) don't especially make the effort to train against, but don't come in complaining daily that the evil nurse is too strong.

And the others: those who don't want to make the effort to learn anything other than the classic "Shack-pallet-LT-pallet-window-double L-pallet" and then come to complain when with a little bit of questioning ...

  • @cburton311 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2934639#Comment_2934639

Ok aside from this ridiculous reply. Let me ask you, what do you think makes the game fun for the survivors?

Spending more than one second imagining how the other side plays, might make real dialogue possible.

What makes the games fun? I would say: when everyone can enjoy the game, why?

And I know very well how survivors play, since I play a killer AND a survivor.

And when I say that the survivors don't know, for the most part, how to counteract the nurses, I include myself in said survivors!

    But I'm learning, I'm doing my best, I'm thinking a bit โ˜บ๏ธ

And I think to myself, if the nurse caught me, maybe I also made a mistake, maybe I wasn't good enough?

After that, there are no mysteries: if a survivor is serious about learning how to defend himself against a nurse, he can ask one of his friends who knows how to deal with this killer to play personalized games in 1 VS 1 to train himself ๐Ÿ˜€

Sometimes you think, "Oh, the training, it will come with the public parts ..."

Except that, when you have 27 killers, 26 of them have the same way of moving ...

[And YES, I count the spirit and the blight in these 26 because, even if they have an inherent power to move, the rest of the time, they walk like any other killer SO the "classic" looping methods work on them too]

... and of course, the number of times the survivors can really train against a nurse is not that important.

But not impossible: you just have to want it ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Is it the nurse's fault that the survivors don't make the effort to learn how to play against her, preferring to stick to the endless "Shack // LT // Jungle Gym // Palet loops" ?

  • The reason is simply that many survivors do not want to make the effort to learn anything other than :

"I dropped the pallet, I'm so strong, ooh there! Then I go to the Jungle Gym, I go through the window, I'm so strong, oh my! Oh well, I'm going to the shack now, I'm such a boss, oh my!" ๐Ÿคฃ

So of course, when they meet a killer who asks to be a little more subtle ... my god ... it's the end of the world ... everything falls apart for them ... and then they come up with a topic like "Need to nerf the nurse add-ons!" ๐Ÿ˜

  • @Aurelle said:

You try running at the Nurse, she blinks at the ground to make sure she doesn't pass you. You hide behind a wall, she can just blink through it and hit you. Pre-drop a pallet to slow her down she just blinks through it. There's literally nothing you can do against her.

If there is really nothing to do against it, how come the nurses don't do 4K every game?

Can you explain this mystery to me?

  • However, even if the ragequit ban remains as it is, I think it would be interesting to make sure that the remaining players receive a compensation, as mentioned before ๐Ÿ˜

In the first case, if there are 2 survivors and they've both been slugged, the match is going to end regardless.

You have a choice. You can let the actions of others distress you so much that you DC and lose your blood points, as well as court the penalty. Or you can decide that you are in control of your own feelings and actions. You don't have to do anything,

I want to see this video where the hatch is opened but the gates aren't powered.

In fact, it's just a question of respect, somewhere ... I think it's a shame that because of a jerk whose only goal is to annoy the players, they have to bend to his rules ...๐Ÿค”

Concerning the case of the trapdoor, the Bubba had managed to kill (I should say: camp) 3 survivors, and there were still generators to be made.

The trap door had opened, and he had posted himself just above.

So, of course, the last survivor could have had fun making the other generators, in ninja mode, somewhere, it's true ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2922129#Comment_2922129

If the killer kills the rest of your team and and finds the hatch, they've won. Just accept it.

If they stand at the hatch, it's no different that survs waiting at the gate or hatch to be seen or teabag before leaving. Survs do that all the time, and it's the same thing, and at the end of the day, it's harmless.

The fact that some survivors are toxic to the point of tbag at the end like morons does not justify that a killer does the same thing, otherwise, we have not finished ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't mind being killed, if there is a way out, of course: I could have run away, the killer was smarter, gg to him ๐Ÿ˜Š

But in this case ... he's just waiting for me to come and give me ... you compare this to those who tbag, it means that you understand how childish this kind of behavior is.

At the very least, camping the trapdoor to kill a survivor who has been hyper toxic, there, I understand ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

  • @AsherFrost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2922079#Comment_2922079

1 and 2, the survivor can just go grab a snack instead, not only would it avoid the penalty, for 2 it would also keep them occupied so the other survivors could escape.

    3. If the killer is guarding the hatch, and the hatch is open, that means every other survivor has escaped or died, which means both gates are powered as well. Instead of "giving yourself to the killer" you could literally open the gate and escape that way. Also at that point egc is happening, so if you lack the skill to make the gates, it still won't last forever, so there is no reason to DC.

    4. Killer gets the snack this time. Seriously, the best way I've found to deal with those kind of swf groups is just go to the basement, put the controller down, and get something tasty. The longer they're in my lobby playing with themselves, the less chances they have to go ######### with some newbie killer.

In the first case, there were only two survivors left, the other two were dead :/

Besides, when you play a game, I don't think you have to go and do something else because the enemy has decided so ๐Ÿค”

As for the hatch camp, there was only one survivor left, but the exit doors were not powered ๐Ÿ˜•

Regarding your solution to counter the toxic SWFs by going to the cellar, I totally understand, and I guess yes, it must be wasting their time! I totally agree ๐Ÿคฉ

But sometimes you don't care about them, you just want to move on to the next one ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ

1&2 Are basically the same examples, but no, DC for being slugged is not understandable.

3 - This is just laughable. You understand someone DCโ€™ng because they are probably going to lose?

4 - This I can understand but still not a reason to remove the DC penalty.

How is it normal to have to wait to bleed to death when the killer decides to boycott the game?

How can it be right that the perfectly legitimate fact of wanting to move on instead of satisfying the good pleasure of an idiot leads to a sanction?

As for the situation on the trapdoor, the concern is that the survivor has no choice but to go and die.

I'd still rather the killer find me, hunt me, and in the end kill me. Then I would have had my slim, but existing, chance to get out of it ๐Ÿ˜Š

Camping the trap door, it just condemns the survivor to either give himself, without disconnecting.

Fortunately, these cases do not occur all the time, of course, but it happens enough to be felt ๐Ÿค”

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2922102#Comment_2922102

Just no. Every man and his dog will DC at the slightest inconvenience if you remove the penalty. Youโ€™d be thankful just to have a game with a least one DC.

I just donโ€™t understand this desire to DC so much. Especially as a survivor, if you want out so quickly, find the killer and let them hook you.

I agree with you that if a survivor wants to leave, he or she can go after the killer!

The problem is when the killer, as in the examples below, decides to play stupidly and boycott the game, making it last on purpose when he could easily finish it.

  • Here is a proposal to redesign the penalty system.

    1) Leaving the game would no longer result in a ban.

Let's face it, players could give tons of examples where leaving the game makes perfect sense.

What would be interesting is if it were possible to do so without being banned.

    2) Rethink the consequences of a player (or players) leaving the game.

BHVR, I completely agree that if a survivor leaves the game, rightly or wrongly, the other survivors as well as the killer will be penalized.

So, here's something that might be interesting:

    - if a survivor leaves the game, then the killer will be given the blood points that they would have earned as a normal player.

Example: if a survivor leaves the game at the beginning, then the killer will get back the equivalent, in blood points, of : 6 hits and 3 hooks.

Example 2 : if a survivor leaves the game after being knocked down BUT was already in P2, then the killer will receive the equivalent, in blood points, of 1 hook.

    - if one or more survivors leave the game, then the other survivors will not lose their item at the end of the game, and will receive the bonus points they would have received if they had escaped.

This way, on the one hand, it would allow someone who wants to leave the game to do so without being penalized BUT also without the rest of the players present being penalized.

  • So, if I understand correctly, according to you, BHVR, you think it's "normal" for a killer to intentionally piss off the survivors by leaving them on the ground at the end of the game, to waste their time, instead of hanging them up?

So you, BHVR, are telling us that in fact, if the killer behaves like an [censored word, you know] ... it's normal, and it's up to the survivor to adapt?

So you're telling us that in fact, as a killer: being a real [censored word, you know] is okay because ... it's a strategy?

So you're saying that if the survivors are doing the same thing, purposely NOT making the generators, while carefully choosing a location on the map / hook configuration / skills that they need for sabotage (as in the very good library example, mentioned above) ... well, that's okay because ... it's a strategy?

A strategy for what, actually, since they don't make the generators?

Oh yes, they bleed out ... about ... 1mm of bar every 30s ? Or every minute?

I think it is unfair that the players who suffer are the ones who are penalized.

  • @HagathaSimmons said:

The ones calling for the DC penalty to be reduced are the ones who DC on 5 gens because โ€œKiller is a meanieโ€. Change my mind.

If anything the DC penalty should INCREASE bc of how common it is. Honestly, it only hurts the survivor side.

However, there are situations in which leaving the game would be completely understandable.

    - the killer didn't like being looped by a survivor, so at the end, when there are only two survivors left, he decides to put one down, then the other, and NOT hang them up, waiting for them to die from exhaustion;

    - the killer didn't like receiving a DS in his face; at the same time, he was tunneling...; so, once he manages to find the one he put there, he slugs him over and over, and prevents the others from helping him;

    - the killer camps the trapdoor, staying above it, waiting for a survivor to show up; magnificent, the survivor has no other choice but to either give himself to the killer;

    - the survivors are very toxic, which makes the killer want to move on to the next game, but, unluckily, the survivors are both toxic AND competent, so they can decide to hold the game hostage indefinitely;

  • @Rokjer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2921982#Comment_2921982

The problem is always with the survivors, with you.

Don't generalize, you know very well that I was only referring to THIS particular subject ๐Ÿ˜‰

If one day, I see a killer who starts to camp / tunnel / slug in a gratuitous way from the beginning of the game, don't worry, I'll be the first to say that it's his fault ๐Ÿ˜‹

  • On the other hand, your way of provoking him instead of leaving to take refuge in a safe place was not very subtle ๐Ÿคฃ

  • Having a permanent DS would be the worst idea. On the one hand, if the killer has decided to tunnel someone he has taken a liking to, he will do so, even if it means losing all the generators.

Second, if all survivors have a permanent DS, it would allow those who are really toxic to play with multiple DS at the end of the game on purpose.

Remember that at the end of the game, when all the generators are done, and the objective is the exit door, it's a race against time, and the concept of "Ok, I won't hang it again, I'll go see what's going on somewhere else" doesn't make much sense anymore.

Yeah they were far more powerful before, Nurse was far more powerful in every possible way.

People tend to forget that in tournament she's far from 4k'ing every game. She's fine, the double range is currently a problem, but she's fine (well, it depends also on the map but it's like that for a lot of killer, if not all of them).

The double range are not the problem, the problem is, as said before, that the survivors are not used to playing against her, and therefore do not have the appropriate mechanics.

  • @Rokjer said:

These are the killers who spend all their games camp/tunnel/slug from 5 gens and play a killer who doesn't need a loop, who come to give lessons in "git gud".ย

    LMAO.ย

Learn to play again and we'll talk about it.

What are you talking about ? (didn't understand at all)

  • I completely agree that being able to use multiple offerings at the same time would be greatly appreciated by the players.

It would simply be necessary to be able to accumulate offerings that do not effectively unbalance the game: a BP offering + a non-BP offering ๐Ÿ˜€

  • I'm not complaining at all about a good team of survivors giving the nurse a hard time, quite the opposite ๐Ÿ˜‹

Just like I totally agree that you can't blame anyone for spending little time on the game, you're totally right ๐Ÿ˜

I was just pointing out, in an admittedly abrupt way, that the fact that the nurse sometimes gives the impression of being "so strong" is also due to the fact that most of the survivors are not used to playing against ๐Ÿ˜‰

The nurse doesn't need to suffer any malus, the players just need to learn the strategies that work on her, and the results will be all the more positive โ˜บ๏ธ

  • Step 1: Survivors are so used to facing M1 killers and/or killers who just walk around placidly that they forget that there is a nurse in the game.

Step 2: The survivors run into the nurse and get killed.

Step 3: The survivors come crying that the nurse is too strong / her add-ons are too strong / life is too unfair.

It's always the same thing: it's the ones who don't make an effort to improve themselves that come crying to make everything easier for them.

Conclusion? Instead of crying, learn the methods that work against her.

  • @ActualCasual said:

If you're facing a strong nurse, its cuz they have dumped a solid portion of hours into playing against survivor. As (x)k hr survivors, how much of that time has been facing nurse? No wonder u have trouble, its just a lack of experience vsing her.

When I picked her up, I can't even recall the amount of 4 man escapes and other helpless matches I played. I'd spend whole games trying to catch a survivor at a few tiles... and undoubtedly, every nurse player has gone through the same. So when matchmaking screws u over vs a player with way more hours on nurse and u get steamrolled, don't jump onto the forums immediately to beg for nerfs... stick it out, and you'll be one of the few to find a new exhilarating and unique playstyle in dbd that breaks the monotony of largely every other killer. Personally I find matches playing as her or vsing her extremely fun, even if I get utterly ######### on by the other side

And what about survivors who think Nurse is fair? ๐Ÿง

There would be very little reason to play her if she could not blink through objects anymore. Doesnโ€™t matter if she has a faster base movement speed. What you propose is to kill her viability and unique traits. Leave our Nurse alone!

    "Leave our Nurse alone!"

    Exactly.

Instead of lashing out at the nurse, learn to become better at playing against her.

  • Or ... the survivors may also think that if they get killed by the nurse, it may not be because she is too strong ... but because they, said survivors, just didn't think it was worth learning how to play against a nurse.

Strangely enough, when you pit a player who is an expert with the nurse against a group of survivors who are also experts in their field ... the nurse only occasionally comes out with 4K ...

So yes ... learning the different mechanics that allow you to play against a nurse requires a little more practice than the classic "I go to the shack, I turn around for 3 generators, I shove the palett in its face, and then I change the loop."

So, I'd like to say: get to work!
