Yeah man, just ignore them all, they couldn't possibly have ANYTHING that would make sense for the heath of the game.

Just want to 4k every game or whatever that generalizing statment people say about killer mains is.

You are such a bitter person, it's not even funny.

But this seems to be a thread based around generalizing survivor mains. At the end of the day, every single strategy in the game has to have a counter. Tunneling, camping, slugging, etc have counters; Gen-rushing, totem cleansing, healing, unhooking, etc have counters.

Ruin can be broken, NOED can be broken. DS can be outplayed, Unbreakable can be outplayed, Borrowed Time is annoying, but most of the above-mentioned perks are really only annoying in the end game collapse, where Killers were also given a ton of perks to help dominate that end-game. Not to mention, both killers and survivors alike pretty much agree that hook-camping during the EGC is fine, because why would anybody want to let that player make a last-second escape? There are still perks to counter that, and if you can't grab someone mid-save to prevent borrowed time, or hit them before they unhook, and again after to make a trade, that's just a lack of awareness on your end. OoO is literally as much a negative as a benefit. The people calling for nerfs around OoO are basing that around SFW, which absolutely screws solo players, which nobody really seems to care about, unless that solo player is the killer.

There's not a single perk on either side of the aisle that cannot be maneuvered around. The reality is that some of them mesh well together, but that doesn't mean they should be nerfed either. How many times do survivor mains get shut down by killer mains when calling for nerfs to killer perks? And killers just got a brand new set of good ones. Undying/Ruin is literally a meta now. I took the silver-lining there and decided that I'm fine with farming Lightbringer points by cleansing a bunch of hex totems, but otherwise, it's an annoying combo, especially considering it also reveals the auras of anyone who happens to be around a totem, and totems have two modes: Either way out of the way, or right next to the generators survivors must complete to finish the game. Hell, some of the totems spawn where players can't actually get to them to cleanse them.

Usually if a killer wants to leave the game, they won't post it in discussion, they simply just leave quietly.

So how do you know killers are leaving? The queue time. If the killer queue time is instant, and survivor's queue time is like ages, then obviously number of killer has dropped.

There was a time like that if i'm not wrong.

I honestly feel like killer and survivor queue times are more artificial than anything. 30,000-40,000 players on every evening (during the early hours when it's all quiet), and I'll see the same killer and the same survivors 3 times (username and all).

  • @FFabeq said:

What would you want to see being nerfed/reworked in survivor side? And why?

Pretty much every perk that exists for survivors. All survivor perks are crutches and second-chance situations. Survivors should just have to work on gens and cleanse totems. Only killers need perks. Even though chases are stacked in a killer's favor, survivors should just never get caught. If a survivor gets hooked, that should be the end of their game, period. /s

  • And what if, as long as Ruin is up, BBQ and Chili wouldn't reveal people's auras? Why should survivors be punished for using perks that work well together? If you slug them, Unbreakable is there to counter it. If you decide to tunnel them, DS is there for that.

Since when does any of these perks win survivors games?

Dead hard? A perk killers can easily wait out and counter

SB? A perk survivors use to gain some distance and can't use it again unless they get unhooked or standing still for 40seconds assuming the killer gave up on them which is the killer fault or he lost them

DS? DS doesnt win you games lol if your team is ######### your not winning, if your not getting gens done your not winning and if the killer is pressuring you well then ds isn't gonna magically make all 5 gens pop

Unbreakable? Lol really a perk that only comes in handy when your slugged and can only be used once HAHAHAHA I barely see this perk in red ranks because killers dont slug like that

Adrenaline? A perk that works in 2 sistuations, when all gens are done and by then the survivor have won or hatched closed which means the killer has won

BT? THIS is a fair ass perk that stops some killers from legit tunneling you off hook and it can be countered by waiting it out

Many killer mains conveniently forget that the whole 4 survivors thing isn't necessarily a benefit. It's great if you have a SWF team, and SWF is mostly where devs base their balancing from, but at the end of the day, more survivors ruin my games than killers do. Survivors are also very much a detriment to your game, especially if you are solo. They'll stroll up, blow your gen and walk away, they'll unhook you in front of a killer's face, run the killer to the gen you're working on, ######### up healing skill-checks, run from your attempts to heal them, finish gens before healing, so the killer is again alerted to your location, body block you when you're trying to do things to escape the killer, needlessly throw pallets down, hand killers like Michael all the stalk they could ever want, etc. There are so many ways that other survivors can ruin your game, and I don't think killers see or even care. To them, everyone is a SWF, and all balances and changes should revolve around the idea that everyone is a red-rank SWF, and that's unfair.

Almo i think you shouldnt have said that, u just made it worse, is like you (devs) never ever heard our complains (killers) by saying such a thing. you guys cant ignore it now, because if you do it then sorry but the biass now with actual proof is really visible with comments like these, please dont treat the killers like the second thing, like if they didnt even matter because is ok i know killers dont give u as much money as survivors do, we are less is right, but in the end without killers there is no game.

Killers are, and have always been the star of the show. They don't advertise survivor DLC's. I think the only one they advertised to my recollection, was Ash. Otherwise, the spotlight is on the killer. Hey, watch these trailers highlighting the killer, and then at the end, when they're showing stills of all the details, here is the survivor that just kind of comes crammed in.

Look at all these amazing new killer perks, but here's more survivor perks, like seeing the aura of a gen. Personally, I wish they'd make survivors unique so there's more incentive to not just play a single one. Killers are completely unique, and survivors are various skins you can attach literally any perk to. That's all.

And I honestly believe the newer killers are rather unfair to the older ones. Old killers get their standard m1, and AN ability. New killers get the m1 and like 3 or 4+ abilities. Trail of torment, Punishment, instant hooks, built-in mori, blood pools, teleport, stealth outside a certain range, auto-sleep, fake pallets, big shock, little shock, auto reveals, UI interference.

Then you go to trapper and he gets a few traps. Legion gets a stab that doesn't down people anymore. Apparently he's overworked, because ending that ability stuns him for several seconds, and makes his screen go dark. Spirit gets to go stealth for a bit. Wraith gets to go invisible and come back out of it. Older killers are annoying only when skilled players use them. They require some level of skill to use. Many of the newer killers require very little, because the game sort of does it all for you.

Every new killer to date is a significantly better version of the old killers, with multiple abilities built in, while all the newer killers pretty much get left behind. If anything, you should be chastising the developers for seemingly not even considering the older content when they just throw out new pay-to-win content. But I have to at least credit them for going back and trying to balance out the old perks. Personally, I think some of them need to be removed, because the newer ones are just better copies of the older ones.

On the whole DS vs Pop timing thing.

As survivor, I can go through multiple matches without ever having the opportunity to use DS.

As killer, if I brought Pop then I'm using Pop... multiple times.

Exactly. Even if killers want to argue that it's a crutch "second chance" perk, that's fine. Survivors deserve second chances against killers who try to turn 3 hooks into one hook staring at a killer's face.

  • @MasonOliver123 said:

Sounds like Ds - doing a gen and healing whilst the killer is away from you - yet DS has no change - survivor bias?

Ds can only be used once. Pop is not a one time deal. I'd settle for reducing the timer to 45 seconds, like pop, and even cancelling it if I jump on a gen, if I get to use it every time I come off a hook.

  • That's why most people are calling for it to simply be added back as a built-in to prevent killers tunneling a survivor for 15 seconds after they come off the hook. Killers complained about OG Decisive, so it was made a pay-to-play perk. Now that survivors have 60 seconds (typically, if I don't suck in chases, I never get to use it anyway), it's still a problem to killers. Yes, survivors are using the perk offensively. Most killers can typically determine that, particularly in red ranks, but the difference between Pop and DS will always be the fact that DS can only be used ONCE. Pop can be chained. Ds still poses a risk, since most killers will just slug anyway. Slugging a survivor is actually mroe time-consuming to other players than hooking them anyway, because it takes a bit to be able to be picked up, and if the killer is paying attention, they can go smack them back down, thereby keeping them useless. Notice how, whenever killers are losing matches, they simply resort to slugging everyone. I would be absolutely fine with DS going back to 15 seconds after coming off a hook, but for every hook. If killers get the choice to camp hooks or tunnel, then yes, survivors should get the choice to use a perk that counters that. Asking that killers be able to do that, AS WELL AS removing any survivor counters isn't cool.

Anybody who argues that the counter is for other survivors to work on gens fails to understand that, because of the ranking system, it isn't just about the team's performance, but it's about your own. Getting caught once shouldn't be a game over for you as the player. Because of the ranking system, survivors now require perks that benefit them personally, and that includes protections against camping/tunneling.

I hate versing people who use VPN or have horrible internet where they are so laggy they hit u a mile away or when they do 360s it is so laggy and weird you just miss alot. I think it is unfair where I have 66 ping but this guy from other end of world using VPN to get into america servers and play with 250 ping.

It would be nice if everyone could see everybody's ping.

Likely because the devs didn't want survivors dipping from lobbies when they saw killers with 500+ ping. Since hacking seems to be tolerated in this game to the extent that it's up to the others to have video proof (since devs can't monitor their own game), someone needs to introduce an add-on that shows killer ping anyway. I have a feeling if that became commonplace, BHVR would probably start monitoring their own game for cheaters, instead of requiring everyone else to do it for them. All that should be required of me is to hit the report button. At that point, they should investigate themselves and review their own footage.

I mean with all that was stated you don't see any flaw in his power ,even if it went across the map you would still see it coming, most survivor's I play know exactly how to counter PH.

They wait for the que then dodge if not absolutely sure about the prediction, the hole point of his power was for him to be an anti loop killer. Most survivor's create distance when facing him a regular chase extended to 180s when you're supposed to be able to end the chase around 90secs that's three gens you lose on a single chase not to mention, they've already nerfed his turning and m1 right after POTD

115 ms killer 15 secs of blood lost is nothing compared to DS,BT, Adrenaline x3 .

Most pyramid heads I play don't spam it in the open, and wait for you to be in a loop where you literally can't dodge one way or the other. Or they use it when someone is vaulting. They also don't hold and aim, jsut like most players who are decent with Deathslinger don't aim and turn, they quickscope. If PH is good, he can quickly throw it, and you get almost zero change to react to it without it still grazing you from the side.

Adrenaline is a one-time perk that only applies once all the gens are completed, and apart from the healing, the speed boost goes to waste if you aren't already on a hook. Most killers camp hooks once the gens are done, and I don't blame them for that, which is where BT comes into play. Even then, the killer can usually trade because the person going for the save should take at least one hit. A killer like PH can ready his ranged attack and actually hit both survivors at the same time, before the hooked survivor even has a chance to regain control (since you don't regain control of your character immediately after coming off the hook). DS is one of the most easy to avoid perks. If you assume someone has it, and you haven't tunneled them right off the hook, the timer probably already expired. The only time DS is really a pain is if the exit gate is open and they're crawling toward it, which FORCES you to pick them up. If they jump into a locker in front of your face, don't assume they're just stupid, and don't open the locker for a few seconds.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Here's what bugs me here, it's the hypocrisy.

    • Play M1 killer and chase a survivor towards a window, survivor taps E for distance and now makes the window safely. Zero counterplay.
    • Play Pyramidhead and get the hit at the window "omg devs PH OP Nerf plz!!! ๐Ÿ˜ซ"
    • PH hits down a tormented survivor who has DS active and sends them to a cage "omg devs PH OP Nerf plz ๐Ÿ˜ซ"
    • Play any other killer, survivor sits on a gen in front of you, as soon as you get close they jump in a locker for immunity "fair and balanced ๐Ÿ˜Ž just git gud babykiller"

As always all the counterplay needs to be on the killerside but it's fine for survivors to have none, even though it's a 4 vs 1. It's this blatant hypocrisy that is irritating.

What? One of the dumbest things a survivor can do is Dead Hard straight into a vault.

The counterplay argument goes both ways, you know. Killers who get off on camping and tunneling insist that survivors just git gud, but when the devs introduce perks to help mitigate campers and tunneler for just a few more seconds, killers lose their minds. Personally, when I play against PH, the only time I ever get tormented is 1) if I run through an invisible trail, because his trails are still bugged and don't show up like they're supposed to, or 2) I get randomly afflicted 30 seconds into working on a generator, which is also a bug. The trail is also wider than it appears, so the only other time it is even remotely frustrating is when he can drag it down 2 or 3 halls at one time, meaning that you can't go anywhere without guaranteed being afflicted, unless you want to crouch walk for a minute and a half to get down a hallway.

  • @BubbaMain64 said:

I know many will see the title and instantly scream that PH is already really strong, but the point of this is to make his power actually usable in the intended way and make him more fun to play as and against, instead of just constantly zoning people out of places.

So how would we go about fixing his power? First we must address the main flaws with it and work from there.

It's too easy to dodge and too telegraphed to actually hit anybody paying attention. There's an audio notification, an animation and a giant red rectangle saying "DON'T STEP ON ME :))))". This means that, even if you do play him well, you can still be punished by good survivors. Because the amount of time to react is absurdly long for a static attack. Then you enter a long animation lock whether you hit or miss, giving the survivor a lot of time to get away. His power if filled mostly with downsides when used outside of animation locks.

So what fixes would I make to him? There's two routes for this: A & B. But there are also changes that I would implement into both routes, which is: Torment applies on POTD, faster recovery on successful POTD hits, and full turning control (or at least better control overall), along with faster travel time for POTD.

    Route A:

I feel like BHVR wanted him to be a prediction based killer, so his power should be changed only slightly to meet this and is probably one of the easier fixes.

POTD is now 12 meters in length, this ensures you have enough reach to properly hit through walls. POTD also now has a bit of a thicker hit box, being the whole rectangle and not just the center of it. PH now has a longer cool down on deactivating his trails. This is just so he has to actually use his power and remove the free zoning.

    Route B:

PH only has the base range, but now his POTD is twice as fast in activation, with full control during the animation. This would make it a scary anti-loop ability that must be respected. All of the telegraphs such as the audio, animation and red rectangle still remain to give survivors a chance to react. The point of this route is to turn him into an aggressive anti-loop killer that must be respected.

I've been very critical of this chapter but that's only because I want it to do great. I love the Silent Hill franchise but PH blows ass in this game.

What is the problem with being punished by good players? The whole point of being good is that you have the ability to naturally counter other players. How do you see that as a problem? Should you just be guaranteed hits? Pyramid head's punishment ability spans the width of two rooms, goes through walls and objects, is a pretty much guaranteed hit if someone is vaulting a window or flipping/vaulting a pallet, and the telegraph you're mentioning is a quarter of a second before the attack actually launches. The attack can be thrown even mid-carve, can hit multiple people, and it has almost no cooldown. The only true downside of it is the fact that it is difficult to aim and takes practice like any other killer with trick-shot abilities. That seems to be a fair trade-off for what it actually does. Pyramid Head is pretty much anti-loop GOD, which means that a player's only real option is to hide, because he's already faster and still gets the bloodlust boost every 15 seconds in a chase. Survivors HAVE to loop killers to win chases. If they can't loop because they are either bad at looping, or because a killer can literally prevent a loop, then survivors will always lose a chase. You come off like you're asking for an instant-win by literally complaining that "good survivors can avoid your abilities." That's the whole point of being good in the first place. Are we going to complain that good survivors can avoid Huntress' hatchets, or Deathslinger's spear?

Macros have also been confirmed not to be bannable although if EAC takes action the devs can't unban you from it.

More nice info. Whenever I report cheaters, I'm told by BHVR that I have to have evidence, since they apparently can't review their own gameplay footage, so you're kind of SoL if you aren't a streamer that records all of your gameplay. I just report it to Steam and other third-parties because apparently they can go in and review it. If EAC and Steam can step in and issue bans, I take it the devs can't unban you then either. I suppose I'll prioritize any reports to Steam in the future.

As for the bugs strewn about the game like garbage in North Jersey, no, unfortunately your computer specs won't fix that. Granted, if you sent your PC to the folks at BHVR, maybe they'd be able to fix these bugs a bit faster. From my perspective, they must have like, one or two computers that the programmers take turns on, because there's no other possible way they could be this behind on taking care of bugs that have existed since day one.

OR .... Devs could improve the anti-cheat system.

Hoping that players report cheaters with a video proving it to fight cheating is a really cheap strategy that won't work... will never work.

There is no perfect anti-cheat program but you can improve it.

But what i see is that there are tons of things to fix in this game, everything is broken and it's out for 4 years. Looks like a BETA...

I honestly don't think the devs actually care. As long as those hackers are purchasing skins and DLCs, there's no issue for them. They will, of course, act swiftly if one of their big streamers encounters a hacker, because those streamers garner attention, and if their followers believed that cheaters weren't going to be banned, they wouldn't waste a dime on the game. I could be wrong, though. All I know is that unless you are actively recording at the moment you suspect someone of cheating, and then proceed to go out of your way to collect info not readily available in the game (Steam ID, etc), and then proceed to upload the video to a forum that can then be linked in an external report you have to fill out in order to even begin the process of investigating said hacker, you aren't going to see anything out of submitting a report in game. The in-game reporting system is there to make you feel good, until the offender literally laughs and tells you that BHVR isn't going to do anything about it, because they've been getting away with it.

You forget, BHVR as a company Iis about 400, but not all of those 400 work on games. Janitorial staff, catering staff, grounds keepers, take up like 50-100. From the remainder, a small portion work on DBD and DBD Mobile. That's about 50. Out of those 50 you have the Art team, the programming team, modelling team, Bugfixers, concept artists, etc, etc. It's not 400 people working on dbd, it's 400 people comprising the entirely of BHVR.

600 employees, last reported as of 2020, and just recently, they stated they added (I believe) 500 new employees. That's a lot of people. I can point to other entities, such as Thatgamecompany (12 employees), who manage to put out and consistently update titles like Sky: Children of the Light. PUBG has about 60 people who work on it. I know BHVR also works on other titles, but DBD is fairly limited in scope, compared to the above mentioned. The objectives are pretty straight-forward, there aren't that many maps (even with the variations), there are a select number of characters and perks. Many basic mobile titles rival the scope of this game. That's fine, but the point is that it shouldn't take an army to be able to hash out the bugs and systems in this game. Even looking the list of other titles that BHVR helps co-develop, it isn't very large. Keep in mind I've also said co-develop, meaning they are working with much larger companies on these other projects, many of them standard mobile titles you see floating around (such as Game of Thrones for mobile, etc). It's not like they're soloing all these projects. At the end of the day, with the sheer number of employees they have, there's no reason they can't have a decent focus on their own titles, particularly when they're legit sitting on a market gold mine with Dead by Daylight. This should be their priority, less someone else come up and take control of that market.

Because you need the in-game report for the external report to take affect. Furthermore if reporting for a chat violation, such as racial slurs, a log of the chat is saved and no external reporting is required.

I would hope so, but I wish they'd go the PUBG route, and allow people to save clips to submit in post-game. It shouldn't take an external forum (forum as in entity) to handle reports that could be done and dealt with all in game. I don't see many other titles that require you to both submit a report in the game, and then go elsewhere to followup, just to get the process started. Most of them can also go back and review their own footage to verify the accusations. It's not like BHVR is a small company, but they way this game seems to be on most days (not just talking their reporting system) would have many believe that they are a small group of maybe 10-12 people.

You don't report people through the forums, you report in-game and submit a support ticket through BHVR Support. The forums have ######### all to do with it except people will tell you to go to BHVR Support.

Mis-spoke. The point is that the in-game reporting system doesn't actually do anything. If you want to fill out a report, you have to do it outside of the game. So why bother incorporating an in-game reporting system, except to make the game appear more finished? That, or it's designed so that people will be deceived into thinking their reports were actually submitted so BHVR doesn't actually have to address them. It's just time wasted by the team that should instead be focusing on fixing bugs.

  • Yeah, idk about what happened to you, but I had a killer tonight that I'm pretty sure lag-switched me. We were at the end, last gen pops, match ping was flawless for all parties throughout, when suddenly, pig starts chasing me. She then just starts running past me, and about 5 seconds later, I am suddenly downed. Team mate dies to the trap, she hooks me, and immediately winds up at the hatch. But I doubt anything will be done about it, since BHVR only punishes people if they have video evidence, which has to be submitted through the forums. Idk why they even bother adding an in-game reporting system, when they tell you they won't act on it unless you report them on the forums.

It's seriously like they just said "Hey, let's make a slasher game" and then just blindly pushed forward with it. No actual plan on how their systems would work, or how they would balance things. Just kind of do things as they go. A reporting system is obvious, but let's not enable our in-game reporting system to actually function because we need users to submit evidence on the forums in a totally separate report, rendering the in-game report totally moot, since we can't really act on an in-game report alone.

Survivors have to reveal the hatch to use a key. If all survivors are alive, that means they have to complete all the gens. 3 alive, all but 1 gen. 2, all but 2 gens, and if you're the last one alive, the hatch opens anyway. It's not like they complete a single gen and peace out. Killers should have to accomplish 2 hooks in order to mori a survivor with an ebony. I don't care if they decide to mori them all, they should have to complete the majority of their objectives just like survivors do.

  • I understand that now, but I still think it's kind of dumb. If one can prove that someone is going out of the bounds of the game in order to gain an advantage over the opposite team, such as their location, their strategy, or their perks, then that constitutes cheating. Why BHVR refuses to punish that is beyond me.

You can't really prove streamsniping unless they admit it or stream/record themselves doing it, that's the thing. No matter how much it seems like streamsniping happened, that alone does not prove it.

Both PUBG and Fortnite has "streamsniping" controversies in the past, where suspected streamsnipers got in trouble.. and then it turned out they were completely innocent. That's not a good look at all.

  • Fix the bugs

    Fix matchmaking

Remove the stupid rank system. It is literally useless. As a survivor, the goal is to get out, as a killer, the goal is to kill everyone. That's it. It doesn't need to be more complicated than that. The whole "If you lose, you still win," and "If you win, you still lose" bs needs to get lost for real. The only reason it exists is so BHVR can make out like there is more depth to the game than there actually is. Considering the constant number of bugs (the first thing I'd address), I don't think anybody is going to be impressed that you added a ranking system that has literally no place to begin with. What that tells me is that you are screwing about, instead of actually addressing issues.

Nah bhvr have said in the past and continue to say that stream sniping, even with proof, is not a bannable offence.

Well that's just dumb, because it's blatant cheating, lol. Oh well, I guess. I guess macros are cool too then. Why would anyone want to spam the spacebar or the wiggle keys? Especially when the wiggle keys don't actually affect how quickly you struggle off a killer's shoulder.

For the record im not salty about hillbilly nerf this is just a theory. I've played alot of other games that release new things every update. They either A nerf other things so the new thing is stronger so people buy it or B make the new thing ungodly OP so everyone is forced to buy it in order to win. I think its A. My evidence is this. Behavior said Billy was the most balanced killer and the player with the most skill would come out on top so why would they nerf him? Most players argue that billy nerf was unnecessary and he should of been left alone. Now playing Billy is less fun and harder to play as for most people. I would argue his add ons needed reworked and that was it. They also made his overheat rate higher before the new killer came out. So why would Behavior just nerf a high mobile killer that was super balanced? Well my theory is this. The Blight. Think about it. Would anyone use the blight if Billy wasn't nerfed? Billy was 10x stronger then the blight before nerf and could instadown people. No one would use the blight at that point. He would just be another not used killer like pyrmid head, deathslinger, oni, demo. Speaking of oni. Oni was probably made as a alternative to billy and it backfired because billy was better. Then they were gonna release the blight. They nerfed hillbilly so more people would buy blight and more people would play him. To increase the odds of people playing him they give him 3 really good perks. Idk im just bored and I just thought of this. Please tell me what you guys think. Am i crazy?

Did you just point to a list of killers I see rather frequently, and say that they aren't ever played? The best example you gave was the Demogorgon. I see Pyramid head less often now, but not because of some nerf. I see Oni and Deathslinger all the time. Oni is pretty much Legion, but with much faster speed and an instant down. Oh, but he can't vault things. He can just instantly break them. You know who actually needs re-worked? Legion. People play him purely out of love for him, but he isn't exactly up there compared to the other killers you just mentioned. He MIGHT be on the same tier as Demo.

As for your prediction that they maneuver to push people to buy the new killers, you're exactly right, but the answer is B. It is a very common practice for developers to intentionally release an overpowered character to coax people to buy them for the temporary game advantage. After sales stagnate, they move to nerf that character and prepare for the next release.

I wouldn't exactly call what they did to Billy a nerf. It was gonna be a nerf, but because the prospect of an actual nerf upset so many people, they had to pretty much revert it. Yes, they balanced it a bit more, but I don't think I've EVER seen anyone overheat Billy's chainsaw without actually trying to, so it may as well not even exist. I don't see any difference, other than the fact that they actually buffed many of his add-ons. Imagine a chainsaw that doesn't make any sound at all. Don't have to, because Billy's got an add-on for it. In fact, as a result of their decision to backpedal on the Billy nerfs, they had to further buff Bubba, otherwise he'd wind up back where he started, with people opting to play Billy instead, because he was simply a better chainsaw killer. Now Bubba can start his chainsaw half way across the map, and come racing up as someone is unhooking, and down both them. 8 seconds of pure sprinting (at least) and with almost no activation timer.

I am fine with Billy being able to sprint, but I'm honestly entertained that, compared to other characters with sprint abilities (like Legion, who carries a small knife), Billy can legit drive his chainsaw across the map for 30-40 seconds, and as long as it hasn't gone into overheat (driving the chainsaw doesn't use but a fraction of the meter), he can hit something and immediately go again. Legion misses a swing, and he can't even move for several seconds. Even Blight, whose background is that he was supposedly super frail, seems to recover a hell of a lot faster than Legion does, and he STILL moves faster. Don't forget the addons that automatically reveal everyone nearby when he's running too. Who does that sound like? At least Legion has to score a hit first. There's just a severe lack of consistency between these killers, and you're right: It certainly does feel like they're leaving many behind while they peddle the new guys. The issue is that they don't seem to go back and revisit a select few of them, perhaps because they're genuinely afraid to, therefore they stay below the curve, because "Hey, at least they're playable." Many of these new killers are Legion, with most of his abilities (on crack), but without any of the drawbacks. And yes, in case you haven't guessed by now, I have a love for Legion.

Unfortunately stream sniping isn't actually bannable in dbd (though it is against Twitch TOS), it's just very very scummy.

I would think any form of blatant cheating in DBD would be a bannable offense, if evidence can be provided. Maybe BHVR won't act on it, but it's very clearly cheating.

This isn't correct. The LEAVE MATCH function is there for emergencies - not for when people get downed instantly, or don't want to play against a certain killer or against a certain survivor perk.

DC'ing is spoiling the game for the other players in the match who do want to play. And I do definitely suggest that if you are unable to play a match, don't even go into a lobby!

The issue is that, as long as the option is there, unsportsmanlike players will abuse it. If the penalty is creating issues for streamers being hacked and getting the penalty stacked against them, then perhaps, as oppose to a focus on punishing those players with a system that might be abused, you should instead guarantee a safety for all the remaining players in that match. If a killer leaves, the match ends immediately, and survivors are typically awarded enough points to safety (unless they lost points prior), but if a survivor leaves, the rest are left carrying the bag, and are at an immediate disadvantage. They get punished for the choices of their fellow survivor, and that really isn't fair, especially if the penalty keeps getting removed for whatever reason. If someone is reported for frequent disconnects, then yeah, maybe that should be looked into, and perhaps they should be punished appropriately (like a temp game ban), but for the immediate future, focus on not punishing the innocent.

  • Personally, I think the best way to fix self-care would be to make it a perk that heals you at normal healing speed, or faster speed, but is only usable every so often (to prevent spamming), or can only be used x times during a match.

  • @StrickxNyne said:

With cross platform going down and swapping to killer I've noticed an insane amount of TTV however when I search them they don't appear to be streamers, it's been like 50/50 which is unfortunate because I always hope to hop into a stream when I hook them and wait to hear a complaint about camping and then just stick it out the whole match. Anyone else just face camp the crap out of TTV? I figure it means hey look at me I'm important so I do, I put every bit of focus on only them.

You realize that stream sniping is bannable, right? You're confessing to going into people's streams and reacting mid-game based on how they choose to play, or what they are communicating. It actually is a form of cheating. And before you try to argue that they are streaming it, so it's publicly available, that doesn't matter. They are streaming the game for their followers. If you, as one of the active players in a match, are using their feed to gain information, such as their location or their perks, then you are cheating. Obviously, one would need proof to report that, but you're here on the official forums, pretty much confessing to doing just that.

That's also blatantly false. They removed it because hackers were able to increase the DC penalty for certain players.

Sounds like, in lieu of a penalty, they should simply award everyone affected by d/cs in the game an automatic safety. At that point, people probably wouldn't be as upset over it. Obviously, when a killer disconnects, the match ends. Survivor d/cs, on the other hand, don't end the match, and allow a killer to steamroll over the others, thereby resulting in de-ranks for those unfortunate survivors. A lack of a d/c penalty simply means that the only people punished by a survivor disconnecting mid-match, are that person's teammates. Either the match should end, regardless of who disconnects, or everyone should get a safety. At that point, there's literally no pressure for the match. If you can outperform, you should still get the points, but the safety should be the minimum. And obviously, if multiple survivors disconnect, they don't get any points, so it's not like one person could disconnect, give everyone a safety, and then they could disconnect and maintain that safety.

It's literally a no-brainer resolution, yet it isn't in effect, unless it's a killer disconnecting. Even then, if they wait long enough to disconnect (just long enough for one of the players to pop a gen or pull someone off a hook), then the players that either didn't finish the gen or get the rescue de-pip anyway. It's almost as if BHVR WANTS people to get upset over this, instead of doing their part to either prevent it, or manage it. If they can't willingly punish people for being poor sports simply because a hacker can ruin streams for their most popular players, then at the very least, they CAN move to ensure that innocent people aren't punished for other's poor sportsmanship.

You should get 60+ on ultra easily with a 1070. I have one, and it is just fine.

First, this is my first time posting on here. Second, I played both survivor and killer (though I love killer a bit more). I've wanted to ask survivor mains for a bit of a favor. When the killer is playing the best they can but not doing well and they didn't camp or tunnel, what's the point of Tbagging them in the end. Even worse, sending them nasty messages. I don't want to sound sensitive, but I've had to get off because it was too much several times. You don't know what someone is going through that day. I really just to ask everyone to be supportive and play the game fairly.

At the end of the day, both sides have it out for each other. Killer mains are tired of survivors who get salty, no matter what they do, so many of them have decided to literally show zero mercy, even to the point of straight up campign and tunneling. Survivors are tired of killers that face camp and tunnel right off the hook, so they are in the same boat for killers. When it comes to camping/tunneling, killers will generally argue tactical/strategy, even if it's right out the gate, instead of at the EGC, where I can understand doing that.

Considering the argument of tactics, survivors were given perks to tactically best killers who choose to exercise their ability to camp/tunnel, and killers call them survivor crutches, despite ignoring the fact that if a killer downs someone and camps them, that's literally game over in the first minute or two of the match for that player, and an immediate de-rank, which isn't fun at all (just like gen-rushing isn't fun for killers), especially with some of the wait times for matches, and the fact that matchmaking in this game is a literal joke. There is no such thing as simply not getting caught, unless you are a literal loop god. Even then, there are only a select number of pallets, and the killers, on top of having an initial speed advantage, also get speed increases every 15 seconds in a chase. This doesn't include many of the built-in abilities that killers get, which further slow survivors, or grant an instant down. Killers like Billy and Bubba get a pretty frequently usable instant down, that has a speed that exceeds Legion's sprint ability, which doesn't instantly down anyone. Experienced killers can avoid common corner jukes, etc, so it's pretty inevitable you're going to get downed. Getting downed once should not be the end of the game, otherwise they'd make 1 hook the kill hook. Again, it isn't fun.

Understanding that the actual objective is for the survivors to get out, since BHVR pretty much changed the game to personal performance, and not team performance, survivors don't really care about getting out, so much as they care about pipping. It's cool if your team gets out, but if the killer face-camped you, you got nothing and sat there for the duration of a match you didn't get to enjoy. You don't get points for the team's performance; you only get points for your own performance (which is why BHVR needs to pick either the ranking system, or the actual objective system, not both). As far as survivors are concerned, the killer's enjoyment comes from simply upsetting survivors like that, and not in actually winning a match. Many simply want a rise out of people, and they get it when survivors don't get to enjoy a match because they were downed in the first 30 seconds, and had to stare at the killer for 2 minutes before de-ranking and having to wait in another 10 minute queue for the same nonsense. Mind you, this is just the killer's impact. Don't get me started on how other survivors can ruin a match for you. 4 against 1 sounds like an advantage, but pretty much only if you're SWF. Usually, I find that survivors ruin my matches more than a killer does.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, survivors complain about perks like BBQ, Ruin, NOED, and more recently, Undying, which they also consider to be crutch perks for killers who are performing poorly. Killers have to contend with 4 people, and if they're SWF or split up, it's very difficult to maneuver around that. Thus, sometimes those perks are desperately needed. But perks like NOED, much like DS, are counterable. Pretty much, if it constitutes a meta on either side, the other side will complain about it.

The difference is that a killer doesn't have to care what survivors think about them. Toxic survivors make me want to kill them even more, regardless of how I choose to go about doing it. Survivors have to take a beating from both sides.

I guess they removed the penalty cause many, many, way too many players have been banned for D/C. The people i play with have almost all been banned during this period. I guess there were not enough survivors playing anymore ๐Ÿคฃ

That sounds like their problem. People should be punished for disconnecting because they don't like how the match is going, and idc what side they're on. Personally, I think survivors get screwed more, because if one of their team mates disconnects during a match, it's suddenly unfair, and the match keeps going. The killer gets to have a field day, and the remaining survivors, being at a disadvantage, pretty much get stomped and lose their rank. I don't expect the killer to respect the fact survivor's team mates screwed them over, but at the very least any time anybody disconnects, they need to give all the remaining a safety, minimum (since it isn't their fault their team mate decided to be a ######### bag). If it's the killer, obviously the match ends, but I'm tired of everyone else being punished for the actions of others. If multiple survivors leave, obviously the penalty for leaving is the loss of everything, from points to items.

  • A killer who's special power is to fix all the bugs in DBD. That would terrify the staff at BHVR for sure.

  • There's a lot in this game that seems to be unintended, and that's fine, but the issue is that all we hear is how it's unintended. We almost never seem to see the fixes in any reasonable amount of time. They're too pre-occupied with the next payable content, be it cosmetics, rifts, or a DLC. And with a constant focus on that, new bugs arise, while all the old ones still never got fixed.

Good point, so why would they brag that to the DBD Community?

Like any other company out there, they're just doing it for PR. Look at how Blizzard brags about their own titles. Remember that Diablo fiasco a few years back? The guy was working overtime to hype the title, only to reveal it was mobile, and then try to act smart when people questioned them about it, choosing to reply by asking if anybody owns phones or some nonsense. He literally got booed in his own domain. I highly doubt the higher ups at BHVR are any different. One thing is for sure, DBD is just one of their titles, and unless it involves generating more money via a quick-sale cosmetic or a DLC, they don't look twice at the game. It's more of a "when we get around to it" issue at that point. Any other title would be conducting emergency downtime to fix major bugs like what we've seen since the launch of the DLC. I don't even think they gave it a full month of testing before they rushed it out either. I was there on the first day of the testing phase, and he released like 2-3 weeks later. Not even close to enough time, especially considering their focus was on Blight and Felix, so forget any actual bugs that came on the side. What's worse is the fact that the test build didn't seem to have many of these bugs, yet somehow, the final release is riddled with them. Usually I'd ask if they tested these things, but I know they did. I'm just curious how testing actually generated MORE bugs.

Which baffles me when I heard someone say on here that BHVR stated they've "Doubled Their Staff."

What staff? What department? Coding? Development? Or Cosmetics?

BHVR doesn't actually seem like a company that does much of anything itself. They have a number of titles under their belt, and seem as though they simply publish titles, rather than actually developing them. I'm sure they did hire more staff, just not in their DBD division. Just like if Activision hires a bunch more people, odds are they aren't all going to work on World of Warcraft. Whatever staff they got on board with DBD, it's more likely they're marketing and design (or anything in the money/sales department) than the technical staff that fixes bugs.

That's because the developers decided to make killers unique with their own powers, but made survivors husks you slap perks onto. There is literally no difference between any survivor, apart from how they look. I would love for them to have taken a bit of time to give each survivor a unique ability that nobody else can have, or at the very least, make them better with their own perks. Literally any reason at all to pick a survivor other than Blendette because she's the most feasible when it comes to staying out of the killer's sight.

As someone with experience with coding they'd essentially have to remake the entire game say for a few assets, it's possible but would take at least a year, probably more if they keep adding content.

Well they're certainly not gonna stop making content, but it's still entirely their fault that they willfully chose to neglect basic bugs and opted instead to release new paid content, thereby compounding the issues until it reached this point. Right now, it would be easy to confuse this with a beta.

Are you actually serious? It was a bug, and you're acting as if survivors are complaining because of a lack of skill?
