How is ghostface the worst?
His lack of ability to produce any kind of map pressure, hios 1v1 is good yes but he doesnt have the ability to pressure more than whatever survivor he stalks

Its funny, to the most of my knowledge this was made by a single person, sure assets may be flipped from the engine they're using but that's not the point. With over 700+ employees, with who knows how many in graphical departments, its a shame that Behaviour is outshined by a single fan.
This.

If you want to limit the range, make it take 14 seconds to relight it, and let survivors stomp it out in 2 seconds then sure.
and give the map another 3 killers that can relight them snuffing out your boon totems and giving other killers an accumulative 5 perks to balance the game out

Then make Boons have infinite range. Seems fair?
then allow killer 5 perks, if survs get 5 perks counting a teamates boon perk that they also get killer should have one more

YES. if boons can be re-lit then hexes should be able to be re-lit along with killer choosing which totem since BHVR wants this game to have more interaction with totems right?

I replied to your post genuinely, explaining why camping and tunneling is miserable for Solo queue players. You went ahead and passive aggressively insinuated I needed you to problem solve for me. You made an absurd claim that Solo queue survivors can somehow get all 5 gens done AND escape in the time the first survivor is facecamped to death. Which is not only false, but indicates you don't really know much about the Solo survivor role.
Throughout this whole thread you refer to survivors as "entitled", "crying about being camped", that the devs are biased, that you don't care if it's unfun for anyone, and that survivors alone cause the game toxicity. On top of that, you admitted you camp and tunnel specifically to be vindictive and enjoy it.
So you have little interest in having a conversation or hearing anything that challenges your pre-existing narrative. You don't really want to know why so many players find it upsetting (the question of your OP). You just came here for a hug box and to have people agree with you. Which is fine- seriously- I'm very pro players regardless of role wanting a bit of solidarity.
But don't pretend I'm somehow victimizing you for not tolerating you being condescending to me first.
Also I was being completely upfront and not sarcastic or being an ass, I am the one replying to a completely out of the blue response with "If you need (...) Hurrrrrrrrrr durrrrr"

MMR judges a match as 4 different 1v1's between killer and survivor individually too which seems a bit bullcrap

In the context that I was explaining that as, a chase at mid-high tier can last from anywhere from 10 seconds to 1.5 minutes so I think 45 seconds as a high is a reasonable stance on a decent chase. Lets say somebody has a 45 second chase, and gets taken to the hook after a killer breaks a pallet (lets add another 10 seconds for both of those) that is a 55 second hook for the killer. the survivor gets 60 seconds per hook phase to just sit and wait, lets reason that this is a semi reasonable team that unhooks them around 15 seconds before second hook phase as the killer is waiting to tunnel them. that is 100 seconds worth of downtime, a single generator can be done in 80 seconds by a survivor with no genspeed additives by themselves. the way I meant that to be interpretive and with the math and logic I am trying to explain here, it isnt unreasonable, if a killer camps and tunnels every single survivor to say that a survivor by themself can do up to 8 gens worth of repairs in the time it takes a killer to down and camp/tunnel ALL OTHER SURVIVORS to death and I apologize for not specifying that to you beforehand but in the highlighted sentence you provided, THIS is the context I was meaning to use for it, is if the killer camps and tunnels every survivor one by one.

No, I'm saying that you're assuming I'm not capable. Me disagreeing with you doesn't "sound like [I] don't play killer", it sounds like I disagree with you. This upcoming patch has excellent and long-needed changes to the game in it, most of which are for killer, so I disagree with the sentiment that killers are somehow being neglected or unfairly victimised.
I am happy you feel so optimistic about the future updates, I agree to disagree.

I have seen plenty enough vids on the ptb to know that the sound is going to break her. in the ptb before spirit was even released she had a directional sound bug that completely destroyed her and made her so incredibly obvious to play vs it was insane. that was a BUG that had to be patched to make her playable, now BHVR is re-introducing it as an update saying it isnt even a nerf.

I can't tell if your assuming I'm a survivor main or not. Either way I definitely don't think survivors need a buff. Maybe solo Q but that's it. Gens fly too quick. Loops are really strong. Maps are too big. The amount of second chances they get are ridiculous. They had so much for so long. As for the Color Blind thing I don't mean I want more things for color blind people, I'm saying I want a similar situation. Such as if for some reason a really big person on the internet talks about how bad the loops and map design is, or how strong perks are.
I edited my post, I had thought this was for a diff discussion I had which is mb

@jesterkind said:
This post kinda baffles me, if I'm honest. This upcoming midpatch is looking to be great for Killer, and even adding in Mikaela to the mix doesn't really change that? A bunch of Killers got addon passes on top of the two who got basekit mechanic buffs, Spirit's nerfs were well deserved and Slinger is gonna be in basically the exact same spot he was before, keys are being completely gutted... sure, survivors get one strong perk buff and Mikaela is going to add some strong stuff for them, but this patch categorically is weighted in the killer's favour.
A nerf isn't always a slap in the face for """your side""", you know. Sometimes they're just necessary for game balance.
I am just going to say, I dont think you understand as much because it sounds like you dont play killer as competitively or nearly as much as most. but thank you for your input

I do agree that almost every patch, survivors end up getting more out of it then the killer, but what do you expect? One side clearly has more players, more characters, and more money opportunities. Sure killer is required to have matches but look at how much stuff killer has dealt with in the past.
I am sorry you had trouble reading that ill work on making it easier for you to look at another time. and I am trying to get people to notice these things and have attention raised for it so BHVR fixes it, otherwise it wont stop until killer is unplayable

I have seen plenty of videos on it and as someone who heavily played spirit it does ruin her quite a bit, i am not being dramatic, just realistic. realistically the devs could have balanced her as I suggested above and she would have been fine, spirit and nurse were the only two killers whose power promoted mindgame that the SURVIVORS had to do and they couldnt cope while all other killers have to mindgame the ######### out of pallets and good loops to get a hit. now the devs are taking the mindgame out of spirit as you can just turn up your volume and sit at a pallet

Most survivors wanted spirit nerfed, classic. Also some random coming in to contribute nothing to a conversation and try to be funny about it. classic. I always hate this argument because it is so situation-specific. It's as if everyone who facecamps is doing it because there is nothing else to do. No. Some players do it as a form of BM to make sure that one person has a bad time in a match.
You have the ability to facecamp the moment you down your first survivor, so regardless of the reason you are doing it, that doesn't sound fun. Even if I was playing killer I would find that extremely boring.
and some survivors (or most all?) tbag and click flashlights to make sure killers get frustrated and have a bad time in a match.

Is he the strongest? Ofc not but he can 99 and instadown when it pleases him. Not to mention crouch instantly, turn off TR and red light. Legion wishes they could be half as good as Ghostface. Trapper (even with this buff) still will not be better than Ghostface. I will raise you a Mike, Pig, Trickster who are also not better than him. To the main point though killers will remain here to kill until the game dies.
Ghostface cannot provide pressure like legion and other killers can with their powers and speedboosts, or trappers utility to instadown with 6 traps placed where he wants. trapper alone provides more pressure with his power as he can spread them out and legion can lock down and injure everyone in under 30 seconds if they are clumped together, ghostface cannot remotely do this

Legion and twins in my opinion are much better because they have more map pressure, ghostie has great 1v1 potencial but where he fails is to capitalize on it with pressure on multiple survivors

I agree with your reasoning, it really isnt that fair, but I personally as a fellow killer main urge you to keep your head up and at least try a few games a day playing normally. I know its hard but keep your head up! hopefully BHVR changes things soon

Spirit is not dead, I really doubt it at least. She does have some actual, none-luckbased counterplay though. Most people are happy about these changes. Trappers buff is definitely nice, so is Plagues. Also, I fail to see how Plague is one of the worst killers in this game. She can keep everyone one-shot, or have survivors cleanse and then gain more access to an incredibly strong power.
Keys were actually gutted, though, another great change for killers.
Yes, the two new boon perks sound pretty damn strong, but I doubt they'll be stronger than meta perks we already have, at least now with the nerfs they announced in mind. Afew survivor perks got some nice buffs as well, but so did a few killer perks, mainly Retribution, and in particular, Hex: Blood Favor.
This game may have used to be incredibly one sided, but it's not anymore. There's no doubt to me that the game is sitll survivor sided at the very high level of play, but winning as killer isn't impossible either, at least or especially when you get a balanced map. You might need to camp and tunnel in too many situations though, but that's a general balance problem, and a strategy that can actually be good for killer.
I doubt we'll see too much of a killer shortage after the patch or in the future. The devs care for both sides, they have shown it again and again, and this patch shows it as well. They just aren't as effective and good at balancing as I wish they were, hence why the game is arguably still survivor sided at the highest mmr.
But there's also the issue of swf vs solo, and that killers generally have an above average kill rate at lower ranks. So just buffing killers left and right will make low ranks possible very unfun for survivors.
Unfun is a very subjective term, if a survivor is new I feel like they should in a way feel scared of the killer (something that is missing in mid-high tier play). Plague at least personally I would rank above legion who is in turn above ghostface but thats personally my opinion just as you have yours, neither of us needs to be right in that regard as we are 2 different people. Yes I forgot about keys which sucks for survivors but was a MUCH needed nerf for wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too long. I know they are a bit biased about that however as moris recieved a nerf way before keys, mori changes were not publicly announced (as far as I remember) so nobody got to use them before they became not very viable. keys however and the hatch took BHVR a year to change, and were publicly announced (I see a key in every other game now). Boon perks as a whole are very powerful and basically mean that Hexes are going to die out as killers who know what boons do and how survs can use them will not bother using hexes again. This game is a 1v4 and BHVR has decided to give the 4 people the power role which is beyond me to comprehend or understand. In any situation in a 1v4 the person who is outnumbered should always hold the power role and yes it is hard as hell to balance that correctly but it has been this way for what feels like a long time and people are getting fed up with it. It is also beyond me to understand that BHVR takes their veteran players feedback at high tier and a noobs feedback at how hard the game is and basically says "Sorry veterans! you who know our game best! we are going to take the voices and reasoning of the newer players and balance the game around them!" Like WhAt!!??

after the new( shi **y update) goes live, i will start tunneling and camping nonstop, especially with bubba basement build, playing fair leads you nowhere and from what i'm seeing, BH only cares about survivors.
at this point, if i cana't have fun in the nromal way(like playing the game and enjoy it), i guess the only way to have a bit of fun, is by pission the survivors and enjoy the salty endgame chat.
Tunneling and camping in my opinion have always been fair game and justifiable if the survs genrush. They get gens done fast, you kill people fast. win win

@Crowman said:
Plague was never in the worst killer tier. I don't think anyone was putting her below B tier.
A lot of people would and were, I would put her just above legion who is the 2nd worst (ghostface is the worst) because most survivors who have played vs her more than a few times know not to cleanse and that makes her a straight up m1 killer with 0 powers. Legion at least has a speed boost if the survivors decide not to heal.

Your comment of 16 perks vs 4 perks sounds good if all things was even, the problem is that they are not even. This game can never be even because of the way it is designed. The killer has one job and that is to kill, for this they have a raft of perks to help. They have the ability to see all the gens and hooks, on top of that they have perks to see the survivors, make no sound and stop gens even being worked on, let alone perks that make the gens regress without the killer having to damage them. The survivors on the other hand have a team of 4, they have to do 5 gens, whilst trying to avoid the killer. There are some perks that help speed up the gens by a little, or there are addons. These make very little difference in my opinion. If the killer does find them then they have a few perks to help them match the killers speed, however these are very limited. When caught they have another job to do, which is to save. Even when they manage to do gens, the gates take a while to open.
16 perks dont always help much on most teams that are made up of single or small group players, they may help on a team of 4 where they are coordinated and each play a role.
ANY way you look at it, it is still 16 perks vs 4 perks. The killer has to get a total of 12 hooks if they play according to how survs want them to, and have to hit a survivor twice in a row in order to hook them. the survivors will get between 12-26 pallets to use around the map and even just holding w can extend a chase to 30 seconds easily with no perks. Survivors on the other hand hold m1 on a gen for 80 seconds (if there in only one survivor) and they get 1/5th of the objectives done. tell me how this is fair?
-
@CryptFriend said:
I'll answer your original question: most survivors yell at you because they're really upset with themselves for not being better players or bringing more useful perks in order to save their teammate.
It's classic behavior, really. People don't want to feel bad, so they make excuses for themselves, and it's even easier for them with a ready target for the blame: the killer.
"It's not my fault I was too scared to trade hooks for my teammate on death hook and possibly die even though it's my first hook--there was nothing I could do! I was trapped hiding in that bush next to the chase! If only the killer wasn't such a scumbag, then my teammate would still be alive. I'll tell them they're a scumbag and shame them--that'll teach that evil, pedophiliac, satanic, cannibalistic, [insert minority here] killer!"
I'm exaggerating for comedic effect, but in my experience that's essentially the reason in the vast majority of cases.
Edit: "more useful" perks as in perks suited specifically to saving their teammate from camping and tunneling, not necessarily meta perks or some other inane prerequisite for the role.
They are either really upset at themselves or overly entitled because of the power role trip they have been on since BHVR has held their hands

Wow, no. You asked a question about why survivors hated being camped (though that would be obvious to just about anyone with a pulse and a whisper of empathy). I just replied the main reason. The fantasy that Solo queue survivors get 8 gens done in the first chase is just that; fantasy.
Carry on facecamping though.
I never said 8 gens done in the first chase. also can you please not be so rude/sarcastic/condescending? I made this discussion for people to have conversations in and not to be a complete detriment to society through the use of verbal abuse in order to put others down so you can feed your ego.

You do both at the same time to remove the possibility of killers using the strategies to gain an instant win with gen speeds slower.
do gens first and if bhvr ever hears killers are both now viable to leave the hook but camp on top of that you will see the fastest change to dbd you have ever seen

the game is a 4v1 as killer. 16 perks vs 4 and the survivor side is already high in the power role because of how many copouts they get. its never fair kid, not until killers are in the power role

This isn't about power role it's about fairness. Both strategies directly relate to each other. If you don't deal with camping and tunneling also then that makes them op strategies. Nothing is going to stop the killer from completely getting 4 or 3 kills every game by camping and tunneling since they wouldn't have to worry about gens.
thats why you fix genspeeds to encourage killers back into leaving the hook because they feel like they can, then after that happens if they keep camping and tunneling, then you fix that but fixing tunneling and camping before genspeeds would be 10x a worse route to take

yes its his fault but not his fault looping for that long is possible with genspeeds how they are, he just compensated for his mistake and is justified in doing so.

Now that silent hill and saw are in dbd, Alien is the only horror license I personally would like to see in dbd. I just want to know the community's opinion on an Alien chapter, so please share your opinions :D
Also for sake of this thread we'll assume the killer would obviously be the alien while the survivor would be Ellen Ripley.
I would forever exclusively play the Alien bhvr as horrid as they are at balancing the game can take my money

I agree with this completely.
You cannot deal with the issue of gen speed without also dealing with the issue of camping and tunneling.
Killers camp and tunnel because thats how they are able to be in the power role again. how are killers supposed to feel like they can leave the hook and have more successful chases without outright losing the game because genspeeds are busted?
