Never realized a joke about a fictional character in a video game was so offensive that you have to attack the person that did it. I’m sorry y’all.
Not an attack just a meme. I'm fine with having different opinions.
I think that spirit "just being a headset + stridor" isn't true. I think she has some prediction and a learning curve to her. Still pretty easy, just not "anyone can pick up and 4k" easy.

If anyone wants to learn how to make a bait thread about how to make a bait thread that's the same as hundreds before it
STEP 1: Talk about how spirit is easy without giving actual constructive criticism
STEP 2: Abandon the thread and let people argue amongst themselves
STEP 2 1/2: People actually don't argue and call you out for your bait
Congratulations, you have officially mastered the art of making low effort bait posts
- Makes forum post
- Says "Spirit is just a headset + stridor"
- Refuses to elaborate further
- Leaves
(EDIT: Don't kill me I just wanted to make a meme)

The map dev is failing hard lately.
We had one glimpse of hope back when the ironworks window was removed + a bunch of other stuff, before then and after then maps have been pretty bad.
Also don't forget that there's a pallet gym all the way at the end, so that's 4 pallets in a row.
-
Survivor? Sure.
Killer? No way. Tons of killers are restricted by sensitivity limitations or the controls.
Following survivor movements with trickster is very hard, same with nurse blinks. Not only that but nurse is heavily limited by lack of information mid blink due to low FPS and a restricted sensitivity.
Blight is trash as you stated.
Victor pounces are noticeably harder against good players once again due to having to follow movements.
Oni doesn't have 90+ degree turns.
Plague is harder to aim and spread accurately.
Hell even someone like bubba is slightly harder due to the camera adjustments needed to play him.
-
Stab, optimise FF, zone and bottleneck people.
1 - Stab
2 - Learn all of the little tricks you can do in FF, such as learning how to use collision to your advantage, learning when to cancel, stabbing unhookers to cancel the animation, etc.
3 - Zone people into corners of the map to get an almost guaranteed hit with FF, try to zone when you cancel your ability into the 4 second stun so they get less distance on you.
-
I mean, I would fault the devs for balancing choices than the people who want these balancing choices.
Like, who are you going to listen to for balancing the game? A very competitive person or a very casual person? The competitive person.
On the other hand who are you going to listen to for QOL changes that make the game fun? The casual person.
Both opinions are just as important to consider.
Whoever controls balancing sometimes listens to the wrong people, and I think the twins change perfectly shows that, also, I think the fact that NOTHING has happened to spirit is another case of that.
-
It is actually pretty consistent to tell with the animation change, versed a spirit running the white glowing hair which doesn't reset animations and from her body animations alone I was able to tell when she was in phase. You just need to know what to look for.
I will advocate for a more clear indicator for people who don't know this and because you have to be hardcore staring at the spirit without blinking or you'll miss the animation change.
Plus you really can't call her the most braindead easy when Freddy still exists, and even then I'd say shes still harder than like 8 or 7 other killers.

Cut coins have never seemed so appealing.

Trickster is a good killer, he's just deceptively simple and requires very good aim and timing. Just constantly throw knives at people and they go down quick enough. He's not the next Deathslinger or Nurse, but he's solid.
I'm sorry I cant see how he is remotely good.
If a survivor runs certain tiles he has to waste SO much time downing even if you have good aim. Shack is a perfect example of that plus jungle gyms. He also has no pressure, no snowball with his already lack luster kit and no way for area guarding. Not saying he should have all of these but he should at least have some of them.
He has decent chase, and that's literally it. He isn't above low tier IMO.
-
100 on both but oh my god is 100 a double edged sword for killers.
For example 100 is borderline required on nurse and blight, while 100 can straight up be a detriment on killers like trickster.
-
@MadLordJack said:
I don't see how it encourages more zoning
It encourages me to go for less shots, as shots are easier to predict and have a much bigger tell tale of when they're about to happen.

Then dont play a weak killer just to ruin someones fun
Have you realised yet that tunnelling is actually one of the best things a killer can do especially if the killer they're playing is weak?
People don't tunnel to ruin peoples fun, they do it to win (or have a better chance at winning)
-
I wonder how many people will get banned for abusing this bug, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Welp incoming is the 4 man breakdowns, no mither, tenacity, soul guard squads.
-
The DS nerf REALLY goes to show who used DS to get 60 seconds of immunity on a gen, and who used it as an anti tunnel perk.
The DS nerf hasn't effected me in the slightest. Try running DS, the anti tunnel perk, if you're getting tunnelled.

I thought exploits are bannable, one moment.
Never mind. MB.
Its just a really ######### thing to do then.
Like using discord when the game isn't balanced around it ig.
They seem to be very picky on what exploits are bannable tbh so it's easy to get mixed up.

J flick is an exploit and will be patched and is bannable.
That's the issue with this.
A hacking trapper could win 100% of games. Doesn't make trapper any better.
J flicks aren't bannable and have counterplay.
Blight without 45 degree turns is absolute trash, blight with up to 90 degree turns is high mid tier, and J flick current blight is top 5 worthy.

How about this idea: Laceration decays by half the value of the bar when the last knife landed, then stops. If it reaches a value of less than one tick of laceration, it decays to 0 (simply to make it smoother with the UI).
Meaning if you hit 8 knives, it decays to 4 ticks of laceration. If you hit 1 knife after that and let it decay again, it would go down to 2.5. This rewards the Trickster for landing knives on multiple survivors without making it so he can simply 99 everyone for free and go on a spammy injuring spree.
E: to make it even smoother in situations where you hit a knife mid-decay, round it to the nearest half of a tick.
E2: and then if you wanted, you could change the "laceration decay when out of knives" to "laceration decay ratio" or whatever you want to call it add-ons. So you can use add-ons to play him even more as a hit and run character.
Good middle ground idea and it would most certainly improve him but I still think that laceration never going down would be better due to the amount of time it takes to get near full lacerations on survivors.
Not only will you be using time to get laceration, you will be using your blades which will waste more of your time and more of your resources. Plus he is 110%, so his hit and run and multitasking is weak by default.

They increase the time for laceration to start decaying from 15 to 20s and removed his spread so now you can control it better. You have more time if you cant hit 1 knife in that 20sif you cant I see some issues.and he is faster while throwing them
I don't want laceration to go down so he can lacerate many survivors and have snowball later in the game similar to ghostface. Plus laceration going down at all means any shot more than 20m is literally pointless.
-
These changes while they are nice do not fix some of the main issues trickster had.
Laceration still going down means pressuring and snowballing is impossible. You HAVE to focus and tunnel someone all game.
Main event needs to make you faster than survivors so you can actually use it in a chase OR make it be able to pocket it so it can be used in defensive situations eg camping, 3 gen, etc.
The good change is the removal of spread and his reduced recoil. He is still however gonna be one of the worst if not still the worst killer in the game.
Also, BHVR back at it again with the "compensation" buffs and nerfs because apparently only buffing a weak killer without nerfing them isn't a thing.
-
@Sluzzy You are full of hot takes cmon.
-
I don't want it buffed just so it doesn't hurt the situations where someone NEEDS to be tunnelled out. Rn though I find it's in a good spot other than maybe endgame but that's a small issue.

Even without the J-Flick Blight is easily one of the strongest Killers in the game.
I mean without flicks in general he becomes kinda like a billy, not great in chase but good mobility. He'll be like high mid at best IMO.

-The hag buff
Other than that we didn't get any buffs that would make a killer top 5 but we did get killers that are top 5 now (Spirit,Oni and Pyramid Head).
Ngl I actually completely forgot about the hag buff.
Still, you know how hard it would be to get flicks as an official mechanic.

-Wraith is also in a really good spot once his lunge after uncloacking gets fixed. Not top 5 but still very decent.
Freddy is close, but not top 5, maybe top 8 or 7. He's pretty overrated and a noob stomper.
Wraith is still pretty bad. Better, but not like even high mid tier.

No, I mean that bugfixes don't care if they effect balance or not. They happen anyway, because ironing out their game is part of their job.
And I thought what made Blight a good killer was incredible map mobility and the ability to take down survivors very fast with clever and skillful (intended) use of his power.
No what made blight an actual good killer was lethality in chase. Personally I find lethality + some other factors trump any amount of mobility you can have. Hence why I think deathslinger and Pyramid are better than billy.
Blight will not be that great in chase anymore, certainly better than some killers, but not great and nowhere near where current flicking blight is.
EDIT: Obv mobility still matters, and blights combo of mobility and lethality is what makes him top 5 currently.

It doesn't really increase his skill cap,it just makes it EASIER to get certain hits that would have required more effort otherwise
It does increase skill cap, because it has survivor input and can be countered. The better player will come out on top.

You really think Blight is going to be trash/mediocre because he can no longer do a 180 deg flick? LOL. He still has amazing lethality and mobility and is still capable of taking down skilled survivor squads.
Yes, yes I do think that he will be mediocre if this gets removed. Pressure doesn't matter unless he has tons of it or if he can down up to pace, which after the change he will not be.

Because it's BHVR, asking for a remotely substantial killer buff is like talking to a brick wall. I may as well advocate for them to be lazy and not remove it.
Yeah,i guess we're just gonna ignore all the killer buffs we got up until now 👀
Name the last killer that got buffed to top 5. Last I can remember is the spirit buffs we got after ptb.
Keyword substantial, we've had tons of killer buffs, not buffs that put killers in the top 5.

@gibblywibblywoo said:
I like that Blight was considered high tier up until 2 weeks ago when everyone suddenly discovered this tech. Now he's trash tier if it gets removed.
No J flick has literally been done for months by good blight mains/players. It's not new at all.
I thought when people said blight was top they were considering j flick, but apparently not.

Orrr the reason to remove it is that it's an unintended exploit.
Bugfixes don't care about balance.
If it's such an amazing thing, fix it, then implement your own version that doesn't require PC fuckery to pull off.
Bugfixed can effect balance by a large amount.
J flick is fun, and it's what makes blight a good killer. Removing it nerfs him hard.
Because it's BHVR, asking for a remotely substantial killer buff is like talking to a brick wall. I may as well advocate for them to be lazy and not remove it.

@konchok said:
I haven't been using the exploit and I've been consistently at rank 1 since blight has come out. The exploits reduce how difficult Blight is to play and that's a problem. Blight is a strong skillful killer and you are advocating removing the skill required to play with Blight. That just turns him into Freddy. No thank you, I want to earn my kills and I want survivors to be able to skillfully play verses me. That's what makes playing as and against Blight fun. And it's annoying as all hell to have these whiny Blight exploiters calling me a bad Blight because I don't abuse a literally broken mechanic. You should feel shame not pride for abusing exploits. You're at the same level as a survivor who thinks their hot ######### for taking advantage of gap that they can fit through and the killer can't which turns that "exploit" into an infinite. Yes, that is just a mechanic, and yes that sometimes does happen in game, if you take advantage of it you're scummy in my eyes.
Someone didn't read the post.
I play PS4, so I can't use the flick, plus the flick is counterable, and is a 50/50 from both sides. So it actually INCREASES his skill cap.
-
@DeadHardMan said:
How can it be a nerf when it was never supposed to be part of Blight's kit? lmao
It's a "fix", but it still nerfs blight overall.
-
@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
Yes, removing an exploit that allows Blight to ignore his deliberately limited turning radius would nerf him.
I don't think anyone's contesting that.
When the flick has counterplay, so there's literally no reason to remove it other than to make survivors experiences easier.
If it was something like infinite mending Legion, id understand. But this has counterplay and raises the skillcap of playing and versing blight.
-
He will be when flicks get removed :)

@Artick said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2075634#Comment_2075634
Ok, I assume he does a j flick. Now how do I actually counter it? The counter play to Blight is to go around obstacles, but if he does a j flick that no longer works. So I ask again, where is the counterplay?
-
I mean I don't think J flicks should be removed, but what is that argument?
"You don't get to criticise something you can't do because you bought a console that SHOULD have the game optimised anyway but because it's BHVR optimisation is non existent".
I'm really failing to see your point.
J flicks shouldn't be removed because it does nothing but benefit the game by increasing blights skill ceiling and makes him a viable killer.
-
Please please please can I have at LEAST 90% naked pyramid head and wraith. Like please. Maybe it's a special skin for like 10000 cells just please bhvr.
-
The logic behind wanting the j flick gone makes literally no sense to me.
- Has counterplay, makes playing blight and playing against him more skillful.
- Buffs blight to the top 5, without it this makes him a mid tier killer.
- If the j flick was removed more people would play spirit, nurse, twins and pyramid which are infinitely more unfun than blight.
What's the issue if it does nothing but benefit the game.
-
Hey man you're meant to put april fools at the end. It's april 1st after all.

Red Key - 2 survivors can escape, Purple Key - 1 Survivor can escape.
Only 1 key can use in per match. If 1 survivor use key on hatch, other keys will be useless.
After key used, hatch will close and never will open again. And it will start end game time.
That would be fair, idk. How is so hard to nerf keys.
No because that still gives survivors undeserved escapes.
Exactly what Kebek said, spawn hatch at all gens done and at 1 survivor left.

It's theoretically how deathslinger is played though. He's like a weaker deathslinger in that regard
I mean not really. Slinger is much more defensive, this dude seems to rely on hard snowballing but he's so slow and weak he physically cannot do that.
I would compare it to a budget ghostface with no stalk.

You guys said Sprit was weak DURING and AFTER the ptb. Time proved she's broken.
You guys said Deathslinger is trash DURING and AFTER the ptb. Time proved he is really strong with the free zoning he gets.
You guys said Pyramid Head is trash DURING and AFTER the ptb. Time proved he is really strong.
You also called multiple new survivors perks OP/broken(Any Means Necessarily, For the People, Head On, Deliverance, Desperate Measures) and no one is actually using these perks and some of them got buffed as a result.
Why should anyone listen to killer mains anymore when they call a killer trash after playing him for 5 minutes or watching a video? What kind of credibility do you have?
You were clearly listening to the wrong people/
Spirit WAS weak in her ptb, then was made good through many buffs.
Slinger has always been good and good players have always said he has been.
Pyramid has been good since forever. Literally no one said pyramid was bad.
This killer, who is incredibly simple, has been called trash by even the best players in the game.
-
Friendly reminder by me that deathslingers gun is 100% accurate with no idle sway and no recoil, but apparently trash accuracy and some magical recoil on throwing knives that makes no sense at all is all that trickster gets.
If you want to buy trickster, buy deathslinger.
-
@Bumbus said:

I'd prob choose Spirit Fury for the last perk. Final build: Monitor, Enduring, Spirit Fury, and Corrupt
I like the idea you have here. I'm not a fan of running PGTW on Trickster because of his 110% movement speed and the fact that he isn't good at getting fast downs. Enduring and Spirit Fury allows him to get some hits with his knives.
Because of his horrible pressure I feel like having only corrupt for pressure would be quite bad especially on the larger maps. While endfury is good i feel like having ruin on its own to help even more early game would be a better choice.
But IDK, I haven't gotten all of the perks yet and my current build is only slightly similar to the one i suggested.
-
I honestly agree with the fact that it was a nerf.
Having slightly more pressure is not worth EVERY OTHER PART of your kit being nerfed. He's weaker in chase, and in hit and run now, and his speed boost was reduced.
