I don't see how blight being 110% would make him less enjoyable. You're gonna be using his rush the majority of the match.

It would probably make him even more inaccessible for average players. His winrate would tank and then magically they rebuff his addons/basekit.

So im a newish player. I have around 200 hours. But I dont have many perks unlocked for the amount of hours I have it seems to be kind of stagnating since I can switch up play styles ext. Anyone else feel this way?

Play killer and farm bp offerings during events killer bp reward is high even if you're bad

So is this the sort of thing that a FOV slider will help killers with? I just don't know how he missed me

    https://streamable.com/oy0jow

FOV tech will be missed, but killer needed fov options years ago

  • i think this is exaggeration to be honest

I'm exaggerating a bit, but the skill:reward ratio is a little skewed.

i don't agree. It only slightly helps with being 4.4m/s. It does not apply to every loop either like Shack

A smaller hitbox is pretty massive there is a reason you can be 115% and 100% survivors run you on nothing besides a rock for 10 seconds.

Scamper is only 0.3 seconds faster, and he is still 4.4m/s and he still has a short power duration and a long power cooldown.

It's not about raw speed, but how scamper adds even more ways to guarantee hits and remove survivors options. He has a demo dash that you can turn with. Wesker pallet vaulting without the long animation and his small model makes it less obvious if you're going for that option. A decent stealth power as well to help with people seeing you early and leaving. You can also do some silly chaining with scamper.

I think he just needs a power shift by reducing his cooldowns then giving some slight nerfs to his power. I played him and it feels like horrible without your power, but when you have it you're very strong. Survivor side he gets his power then it's over with little options to avoid it. Most of the well designed killers that people enjoy playing as and vs have a powerful tool semi often that requires skill and has options for survivors.

  • It's badly designed like survivor perks giving various amounts of haste. There is no tell at all until they magically catch you where you would have been safe before. Chase in DBD should be a very consistent thing, but these perks muddy the water on top of map rng.

  • There are no blanket solutions to these issues they would need to completely change how hooks and everything else work be happy they're even trying to look into it

What does it matter if the killer hits me immediately or later as long as I remain protected from that hit? With borrowed time, sure the Killer can count and then hit and still get fooled by borrowed time, but the end result is the same, is it not? The only difference I see here still is that OTR protects you way longer. So even if the Killer knows this, you still ensure some level of enhanced protection over Borrowed time.

Certain killers that don't really get that punished for hitting you

But then also put on Alchemist's ring and Compound 33

Can someone explain this to me? Is not using all the perk slots on one of the best killers in the game with the best addons equipped supposed to be a flex? I see it very often

Blight plays itself with these addons so no need for anything else

  • There is basically no counterplay it's not about requiring multiple people or anything of the sort it's the simple fact if someone gets hit with FTP + buckle up there is basically nothing you can do. A death hook player can use it on someone you're chasing and going for either is still a hug net loss in time for pressing 1 button and being healthy.

  • Basekit blight is completely fine his addons just reduce counterplay or remove his downtime as a m1 completely

“If this really is an overpowered perk, then why is the pickrate still super low?”

Old object of obsession says hi

It was escape rate not pickrate and killers cannot get tunneled by survivors to make the winrate drop lol

  • @skylerbound said:

The hard tunnelling has gotten so bad, at least in my soloQ games. To define it, I mean only going for 1 player at 5 gens remaining. It’s a strategy that works… especially against soloQ, it incentivises itself as a 3v1 greatly stacks the odds in the killers favour.

My suggestion would be simple, a BP penalty that removes all BP occurred while pursuing that singular survivor, dependant on a few things. If the first 3 hooks are the same person, if the gens completed are less than 3. Some could argue players could then 99 gens to punish the killer but that would take coordination that wouldn’t be common enough if I’m honest.

what would be some of your suggestions to disincentive hard tunneling?

The way they game plays out you can't make tunneling completely impossible unless they give you complete godmode against the killer. There are enough perks/tools to make hard camping/tunneling punishable with a 3-4 person escape pretty consistently

The last time a slowdown perk was introduced was in the artist path, around 6 chapters ago, Right now there’s a completely dominance of pop, pain resonance on the meta. And that’s not because those are broken, it’s mainly because every other slow down has been gutted, now, I’m not saying this to “attack” bhvr or anything like this, but there’s a true problem revolving around the killer meta. If we don’t buff other slowdowns, or introduce new ones, the meta will forever be the same, although in a perfect word people would only run chase and info perks, it’s simply not viable at a certain point, the more u progress on mmr, the more u will need slowdown perks.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6113CCJ8X7CF/img-6111.jpeg

DBD players surprised the top killer perks are meant to stall the game out until slowdown is unnecessary they will need to be strong perks

The Blight and The Nurse are actively poisoning the game. The Blight has crutch addons and the Nurse has the most broken ability. People who dedicated years and play this game competitively can’t hold against these killers. Why? Little counterplay to none. If people who play this game competitively are struggling with these killers you can imagine how public games look like. The next year is the first time they are doing something about the Blight. Took their sweet time. The reason you see crow and rat is because deluded blight mains think they are showing dignity by not using alchemist ring. In their heads speed stacking is fair and balanced. I will never get over the fact that some people are able to convince themselves into things that aren’t true… such as Nurse and Blight are fair and everyone else needs to get better. Everyone is a bad player to these players. They don’t see flaws with the characters they main. Sad but true.

You bring up competitive as if double speed isn't the forced set of addons you have to use and survivors are still handicapped when it comes to perks against one of the strongest killers in the game. Good blights still get outed all the time in competitive depending on map.

  • DS would still be almost useless against the best killers while punishing m1 killers 20x it's just not designed well to affect all killers equally

i didn’t say it’s a “weak” addon. But you’re severely up-playing it as if anybody can throw it on and get value. I have seen ONE iri tag in the last couple months. Hardly anybody runs it. There’s a reason for it.

Alch ring exists so why would you even run iri tag over speed alch. Even his addons that require some effort to get value get too much of it.

  • @HugTechLover said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3589828#Comment_3589828

I don’t think you understand “free value”. Pallet breaking with c33 is free value. Anybody can throw that on and reap maximum benefits all game.

Iri tag is not. You throw this addon and sacrifice an addon that you can get guaranteed value from. Also, so many blight will absolutely throw a hit trying to get that last rush.

Some blights going spaghetti and missing doesn't make it a weaker addon. Blight has too much mobility to be given insta downs during power even if it requires some finesse to do.

  • @adsads123123123123 said:

The combo effectively full heals the survivor by giving them 2 extra life states. After hitting one survivor, the one other can tank another hit using their Endurance. The combo almost completely undos a chase that is won. It reminds me of old instant heal syringes but stronger.

Depending on the situation you're in, e.g. under a pallet or at risk of a flashlight save, it may be impossible to avoid it. The main way it gets me is when I'm kicking a pallet, another survivor randomly comes and uses the combo. I usually break the pallet before picking up the survivor.

Buckle up is broken even by itself insane it hasn't been nerf there is little risk for the user when both get protection

While I agree with most of what you said, iri tag is absolutely not “free instadowns for pressing m2 a lot”. It takes a massive amount of experience with his power to get consistent value out of that addon.

the value is free though no downsides you insta kill people throughout the game

  • Fixing hug tech without breaking many parts of his kit wouldn't be easy. Then what after removing hug tech? Tons of the maps have terrible collision where you have to hug tech to not get stopped on thin air. The bigger issue when it comes to blight is the fact they refuse to nerf his addons which make him insanely easy to get value on.

Speed addons - more likely to catch someone at a loop & better map traversal

Alch ring - removes any survivor agency in the chase when you get hit once at a bad pallet and die 4s later

Blight tag - free instadowns for pressing m2 a lot

c33 - Free info on nearby survivors, break pallets insanely fast and only need 1 token to do so, and slow down survivors against the killer with super fast movement speed

c21 - Insane aura reading 4 times with one power usage that removes a lot of mindgames from the survivor side

  • Fog offerings are the worse did they ever fix stacking them on Eyrie and making it impossible to see survivors

  • By useless you mean situational it's going to be more of a punishment for tunneling with a longer chase and work with itself, dead hard, off the record, and any other endurance perk. The perk needed a significant nerf for a while and the way they nerfed it is actually smart since the effect is tied into the other effect as well. It could have been a lot worse considering BHVR's track record with balance changes.

  • Stealth killer (noob stomper) and free killer so the stats alarm must have been going off at bhvr HQ

  • Killers use gen perks people cry

Killers use aura perks people cry

Killers use chase perks people cry

    There really isn't any winning

  • Probably people duoing a gen or strong toolboxes which I see very often nowadays. As long as they're not breaking your 3 gen immediately it's normally not that bad.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3537630#Comment_3537630

    Yes.

The average player will not get much value from the speed boost and they certainly won't feel it. They will feel and use the Endurance more often to go for dumb plays and get away with it.

Unlike Buckle Up FTP, MFT doesn't really prevent or delay tunneling with its effect.

Running the perk is value you can greed with little punishment when you get extra loops out of filler pallets for getting injured in the first place. The endurance is just the cherry on top it.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3536482#Comment_3536482

    See, that's simply not reasonable.

The Endurance doesn't match up with the perk and is likely giving it a lot of unnecessary value.

Be real do you think anyone actually uses MFT for endurance value when buckle up ftp exists? They run it because it extends chases quite a bit.

Out of curiosity how others feel? Right now I would rate the game 3/10. I used to play this game hours on end. Now I just switch it on to keep up to track with the latest content and then switch it off again.

The game was in a great spot before Transmission End. Sure, we saw Wesker a bit too much because other killers are in need of some slight tuning. Wesker needed some slight adjustments but that was it.

Then came Made For This. Playing killer outside of S-tier ones became very unpleasant. It killed killer diversity.

People felt tunneling and camping was needed to "win". With no good counters it became a rampant problem.

Especially SoloQ became hell, even more than before. Matchmaking is getting progressively worse adding to the problem.

The final nail in the coffin for me is Xenomorph. The biggest unbalanced dumpster fire they have released. Previous released killers were too weak on release. Apparently they thought it was ok to go overboard this time. We have now had multiple unbalanced and unfun killers In a row; the previous ones haven't even been fixed.

    Your turn.

7/10 current meta is kinda meh, but the game has improved 10 fold with the changes they've done over the last year

  • @Venusa said:

I really like the aura-hiding and silent grunts part.

But the extended endurance is meaningless if the killer wants to tunnel me off hook anyways. So it doesn't really help against a deliberately tunneling killer imo.

It guarantees they can't simply wait out the 12s of basekit and doesn't rely on your teammates to have BT. It kinda relies on dedicating other perks like SB to avoid them eating your endurance if they're relatively close during unhook or ds/dh so you can force them to hit you through endurance, eat ds, and then eat dh

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

They started to actually improve the game and make meaningful changes

The perks only suck in solo queue and you have to think of it like the killer just spent a decent bit of time because of bad rng chasing someone and now your down means nothing because you have one perk that makes it nearly impossible to hook you.

  • @Emeal said:

An argument about Windows of Opportunity is pointless unless we know the escape rate of people who use this perk or also I want to know if people who use this perk lasts longer in a chase than what is reasonably expected or fair for the game.

I know everyone just says the only stats we see is the Kill rates or Usage Rate, so that is the reasons bHVR nerfs or buffs them, but just because you are not told the exact stats and details regarding a change don't mean those details don't exist. bHVR has data engineers who sift through the datas to bring answers to the game designers, if all that was ever considered was kill rate and usage rate this game would look SOO DIFFRENT.

WOO was pretty common before, but these chase builds tend to have it with MFT Resil Hope so it's being picked even more.

ain't no way you're going to pretend killers weren't complaining about windows lmao.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Oh, Killer players complained about it. They see that a Perk is used very often and assume it is the reason they are losing games.

And IF WoO will be nerfed in the future, guess what happens? The same Killer players still lose games and go for the next Perk. And even before WoO there was another Perk which made them lose games.

So yeah, WoO was complained about and IMO not justified at all. High pickrates are not a reason for Nerfs. I dont even run WoO because I dont feel that I need it.

Yea it's not a problem at all the meta is just strong chase perks for surv and it got hit in the crossfire I'm guessing it's a good perk for sure, but it's up to the player to get value out of it.

I don't need windows because i know the tiles fairly well because i play the game for a good time,,,i do love knowing though which pallets have been dropped or which breakables have been removed by the killer,,,no perk plays the game for you nor windows in any form makes the survivors god loopers,,MFT might get way more hate but it's also a new perk relatively and as i already said,,i expect it to get nerfed down the line on next perk changes ,,If you wanna talk about perks playing the game for you look at stbfl whose only condition is not m1ing the obsession

That's true but stbfl is only really good on a few killers and if they're m1 they can't get stacks if you don't let him hit you to begin with.

Just a reminder that medkits did get nerfed so now there's zero difference between the different medkit rarities other than altruistic healing speed.

Styptic Agent & Anti-Hem Syringe is what I'm talking about and medkit nerf/coh nerf hurt solo queue, but that more of an issue with bhvr refusing to add basekit aura reading. You have to dedicate a perk slot just to know where people are and even then trying to get healed just wastes too much time.

  • @Seanzu said:

Never going to listen to another killer complaining about their perks being nerfed when something like Windows gets nerfed LMAO

No one complained about this perk it's just run with the chase builds now mft resil hope windows and I guess they decided windows was the problem genius devs.

  • With blood point webs made cheaper I see so many more very strong toolboxes/medkits why get mad the killer used 1/4 of his perk slots so 2 commodious bnp don't get pumped into a gen with crazy medkits

  • People really crying about using funny bugs on a ptb where you can just LEAVE with no DC penalty grow up

  • 99% exit gates is just not a good idea majority of the time especially in solo queue where people straight up die because they have to tap the gate. Blood warden is such a rare perk unless it's a huntress or they have a bunch of endgame perks as well why worry about it.

  • @Kawaii_Kitty420 said:

then the main issue needs to be addressed as to why is the killer even there to begin with? ive had killers just sit directly in front of me for well over at least 20 seconds and no one can get me off the hook because they are a foot or so from me and if anyone even attempts they just get injured or downed completely (if they have exposed) There needs to be a better conveyance of the killer losing points during the match if they are to close to the hook.

The hook is next to a gen they were working on very close to being done? They know the other side of the map is probably almost done so no point and hook you inside their gens and wait for someone to come.

  • @Ariel_Starshine said:

If endurance goes than anyhting that hits through multiple health states needs to go as well. No grabs, leigon would need an entire rework and deathslinger. :p

How can you complain about grabs after hook grabs were removed at windows/pallets you need to be injured and the killer right on you getting grabbed at totems/gens is just skill issue and insanely rare

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3506348#Comment_3506348

I mean, if Killers would not think this way we would not have several of them throwing a tantrum whenever a good Perk for Survivors is released. The last good Perk before Made For This was Circle of Healing and while this was too strong on Release, it got nerfed into uselessness over time. Reassurance did not even leave the PTB because suddenly Killer Mains were worried that they cannot camp anymore about Survivors being held hostage by other Survivors...

And before this we have Mettle of Man which was released long ago... And before this, basically Dead Hard or DS (I dont know which one was earlier, I think DS was earlier, so DH was released later). Both of them also nerfed quite heavily and not really useful anymore.

That's just average BVHR reaction instead of slightly tuning the perk or reworking it they just kill it. Doesn't mean those perks didn't deserve to be changed they just got changed in a drastic way with little nuance from the statistics dev team.

  • @BreadLord said:

Why does WGLF have a condition to make and buckle up dosnt. Soulguard buckle up and wglf all do the same thing but different secondary effects so would be nice to all be equal in giving the endurance

Because bhvr can't balance the game so they just overbuffed it to be better than both of those perks

  • @I_CAME said:

Feels good to actually having a chance to win in solo queue for once. No more hook grabs from facecamping, ridiculous hits after window vaults, etc

Me when I lie if I have bad internet intentionally (vpn) or not the new change to vaults isn't going to protect you 90% of time killers with high ping WILL still hit you long after you drop pallet/vault.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Because Killers always think there is a "thing" which results in them losing games. You know, all Killers here on this Forum are absolute Gigachads who never make mistakes during their games. So there needs to be something that makes them lose games.

Currently it is Made for This. If Made for This would get nerfed, there would be another "thing" that results in them losing games. Because, you know, you dont lose games because you miss 60% of your Hatchets as Huntress. Nono. You lose games because your opponent had Made for This and you are only a 4,4m/s-Killer.

Survivors are just not allowed to have good Perks, according to Killers. But on the other hand they complain about the stale Survivor-Meta. Guess what, the Meta is stale if the majority of decent Perks got released in 2016 and 2017.

"Survivors are not allowed to have good perks" as if survivors don't have a bunch of strong perk options, but people only run the most meta out of all of them. MFT is free value for getting injured that changes how long you need to chase people at every single tile in the game. New fast vaults + MFT = extra 30s chases on any m1 killer it's very boring/uninteractive with little counterplay besides forcing yourself to run the few pretty bad exhaustion perks.

  • @Trollinmon said:

Quantity over quality for killer design sadly. I would say since Blight release we've only had 2 good designed killers come out (Dredge and Wesker) and I think in this fall Blight is 3 years old.

Singularity has a good design his power just has a little too much counterplay for what it actually offers

  • @Nos37 said:

If Adrenaline has a high usage rate, it means the gens are getting done too quickly, too often. Simple as that.

Otherwise, fewer people would run it.

I queue solo. I don't run it, and I hardly ever see other solos run it. That's because a solo team is very unlikely to even get to endgame.

Adrenaline has always been a top10/15 perk easily people just need youtubers to say something is good before they start to use it. A 5 second sprint burst and heal when the game is getting down to the wire with last few gens is massive and worth the perk slot.

  • The perk really needs some sort of downtime or prerequisite for it to activate that's actually meaningful. Being limited by exhaustion might seem bad, but you can either loop for a while then use your BL/Lithe/DH or 100% your SB which can be kinda hard to time.

1 … 11 12 13 14 15 … 25
