maps being smaller is their solution to immobile killers. if maps are big, killer will 3 gen because map is too big to patrol. it also means that every gen that is too far away is free gen for survivor. big maps are also grant free wins for survivor if killer doesn't 3 gen and the last 2 gens are spread out. a skilled survivor team will always prioritize spreading gens out to maximize walking distance if they're efficient gen-rush team. this is also more common and more popular now made… by that Deja vu perk. Before deja vu, only extremely skilled survivor with perfect generator map location knowledge would prioritize the correct gens, now it is just standard with that perk.
In op screenshot, i don't see anything wrong. screen 2 has cowloop and screenshot 1 is a tile and tractor.
I don‘t think this is the right solution and it’s a pretty bad one in many aspects. I would much more prefer helping those killer who struggle specifically instead of making it for all killers easier. (Be it the Map mobility or other aspects)
I would much more prefer having longer matches so killer can deal with better and more loops, but therefore behavior would have to change gens or add something new to the objective. Simply making gens 100 or more seconds would be a terrible solution.
You can‘t really say all teams are that way. The majority of survivors does not play in the most optimal way.
For the big maps being a free win, disagree. Might be true for some killers, but those should be buffed. On the other hand making maps smaller gives stronger killer free wins as well and makes them too strong on those maps. Then in the end they will need hard nerfs as well even tho they might be fine. I‘m not a fan of balancing maps around weak killers and then giving strong killers even more advantages. You can‘t balance around weak and slow killers and leave the strong and fast ones untouched.

Certain bloodpoint rewards, typically those you can't avoid accepting, will exceed the cap. But if your BP is above the 2mil cap you won't receive any more BP from matches.
I get bloodpoints from matches added beyond the 2mil cap.

I think this perk will be really nice after the buff and will be really good in saving builds.
-
I need this as not deaf person. You don‘t want to know how much I struggle against huntress lullaby or when somebody gets hook while a skill check appears.
-
Sounds really good. The last time I suggested something similar people said gens would be blocked infinitely even tho you can only pick somebody up for a limited time.
-
I doubt maps will get any better. All recent map reworks and new ones clearly favored killers and they will continue to do so as long as enough people play survivor.
Even as killer main I dislike the direction of maps, especially when you can see all four walls, because the map is so small.

Yeah, it does, but the dev update for said PTB usually comes like the week before the update.
So we should get the dev update next week and then the actual update releases the week after.
Upsi my bad

Omg I thought it'd been two weeks since the PTB already. My bad 😭
I thought it always takes 3 weeks from ptb to live release not 2

Thanks for the information, I hope the update will be good

For me it is working again on ps5

All it needs are stacks up to 3

The Dev Update detailing what is changing between PTB-Live tends to come out the week before the update, so you can rest assured that it won't be this week.
When will the new update come out?

Are we even trying to hide them anymore? 😅 I have so many more screenshots to post on this, but what do you think? If it got blessed or if it was a hex you’d see it a mile away.
Feel free to post screenshots of crazy totem spawns you find 🤣💀To be fair this is one of the better totem locations. There are a lot worse ones.
-
I have internet
Edit: I played a match, then it was over. In the lobby me and my friend got kicked out of dbd. Now we can‘t open it anymore. I‘m on ps5 and he is too.

No mother could use some buffs, so why not

reveal is his worst enemy. But to most players they won’t know how to reveal him. But on the rare chance you get your own reveal stalker it’s the worst thing.
I really really hate those people and I get them very often
-
He is one of my favorite killers, but not quite strong. Funny enough as I started playing survivor I thought he was super strong, so I bought him and I really enjoyed him and still do, but I often get survivors who abuse the hell out of the reveal mechanic, which is very unfun to deal with.
-
I really dislike seeing all four ends from every point on some maps. It feels like you are in a little box. 📦

His other iri is even worse than this one.

Twins have a higher kill rate than nurse and are over behaviors magical kill rate goal. It‘s as simple as that.

That would actually be a bit too much fog for me, but I wish we were a lot closer to that. Hopefully we will get an atmosphere update soon.

on Coldwind was it around the same time they desaturated the volume of corn?
The fog is gone there since the Dracula update

@Ayodam said:
I noticed it around the time Dracula entered the game. I wonder if it is a nerf to stealth gameplay. It’s meant to coincide with the boost to killer aura reading perks and nerf to Distortion.
I‘ve noticed it being gone on all coldwind maps, Gideon and some more, but on Borgo and nostromo it seemed like always.

Currently combing the video in search of this, but it may take me awhile due to being busy on and off.
I will say, if a killrate on a killer is sitting at 65%, I do think that's too high myself and I also can understand the nuances as to why that is. Some killers being changed frequently so people play against them like their old versions, PUB stomping, etc etc with no real way for survivors to easily access information on them to learn to counter them better. It's why in the past I suggested categorizing it all in an easy to find tab in the character select screen that can have a red ! every time they get changed.
That said, if the target is 60%, it's going to be tough in a game like this to keep it at exactly 60% across all killers without unfairly nerfing them. I mean, just look at the SM backlash right now as proof of that and she's sitting at 70%. I think the better spots would be roughly around 59%-62% if accounting for every possible scenario, without leaving the killer in a state that feels like it's missing half it's power.My preferred kill rate is between 55-60%. It should not go over 61%. It‘s not about loosing or winning, but it is not fun currently and now the new target kill rate will lead to even more bad changes in the future, especially the map changes get worse and worse. I don’t mind the killer buffs they do, but the map changes.

Yes in the discord stream

Then killers have to be slower. Windows are the only way with pallets to make distance between you and the killer.
They would also have to massively buff maps to compensate.

DMS needs to be left alone.
We already now it is getting nerfed badly and this is a suggestion for a better nerf.
-
@ChaosWam said:
It's current form is too weak to be a hex. It would have to block gens every time you release it to balance around being cleansed immediately as a drawback.
I‘m not suggesting it because I think it is good, but the best nerf they can give it to it, you know. I prefer this nerf much more than what they have planned
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
It could work as a hex tbh.
I kinda agree DMS was a problem perk and something needed to change with it but I don't know how useful it will be with only blocking 1 gen at a time even with the duration increase. Technically it's probably buffed with the Pain Res combo though
I really don‘t like that you will have to pair it with pain res to make it work, especially since pain res is strong enough and the change should not be a buff to it.
-
@Rulebreaker said:
Honestly sounds like a good idea to us. Keep it the way it currently is but make it a hex. Lines up with slinger adept to due to hex: retribution.
I would buff it a tiny bit to compensate, but I‘m glad you like it.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
that is worse. hex is the worse penalty you can give a perk. it should only reserved for extremely strong perks.
I know it is a nerf, but that is what the devs want and I will much prefer this nerf instead of what the devs intend to do. It only triggering once on a gen will make it worthless except of maybe in combination with pain res.

distortion counters your build, lightborn counters your item. If they have distortion, your perks are automatically less useful with nothing you can do in the match to deal with it. Lightborn counters your item, which you can change in the match. if you have a flashlight and they have lightborn, go find a new item if its that pressing. One is obviously worse than the other.
First of all items are basically survivor powers, I wonder how you would feel if perks would hard counter powers. Then you forget that lightborn also counters a lot of flashlight perks, so it is even worse than distortion, because distortion currently has counterplay while lightborn does not, it removes a whole gameplay aspect from the game + all related perks to it.
When you really play that many aura perks like a full aura build, you should burn through the distortion stacks as long as you play well. No matter how you twist it distortion has counter perks, be it gear head…. or undetectable, lightborn has no counterplay or anything and it is 100times more unhealthy than distortion would ever be.

Its a good idea on paper but the game isnt built for it. In the end it would be encouragement to slug everyone and bring perks like knock out to guarantee the 4k. If dbd was designed to be more of a fast paced game it'd be great, but sadly thats not the game we're playing.
The new mori system encourages even more unfun gameplay and to slug as well. Now the only way to get moris will be to slug the last two survivors, which is the most unfun thing in this game.
On the other hand I would not mind more slugging, because I could finally use anti slug perks, which are currently worthless. I generally do not mind slugging as long as it is not to bleed people out or for the 4K.
Isn‘t dbd „fast paced game“ ? I constantly see people complain about gens flying.

considering that skull merchant was nerfed for her 70% killrate, i mean. plague/ceno are next on the roadmap for changes and are also in the top 10 killers for kill rates, so i’m guessing the devs are going to follow in the “high kill rate = nerf” philosophy?
I would wonder if they are not getting nerfed, they will definitely not get buffs.

All the 6.1 perk nerfs were bad, and should have been thought over. DS/Pop/Self-Care/PR/Calm Spirit/Thana/and so on. Maybe you could single nerf many of them, but most of them got double nerfed needlessly. For example, Ruin should be 200%, removed on death, not 100% and not removed on death, they rebuffed the wrong portion of the perk.
I‘m for making ruin 150%

To me - any form of "hug techs" are just a blatant unintended bug. And pips deliberately using those - bug exploiting.
Always been like this. It's even been confirmed by the behavior: - It's not intended.
No offence to Lilith Omen (if you know who it is) - but this guy was using unintended bug on Blight for years, and didn't get punished for.
I also don't know why this obvious and very popular bug wasn't fixed for such a long time.
Chucky has an intended hug tech, so does it also have to go?
They should have made hug tech a feature, blight feels so bad to play now and Dracula would probably also be more fun with it

BHVR has always felt like it has a bit of a heavy hand when it comes to stuff like this but yeah, I 100% agree that this sets a really bad precedent and leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. Maybe it's only because this time it was outright admitted it was happening or maybe it's because usually stuff that gets nerfed to the ground STARTED super strong and/or overpowered and needed the nerf but something about this go around really hurts BHVRs reputation in my eyes.
The character was free for me (and I imagine many others) and she was not a character well liked so people don't seem to be super bothered about it but as you stated, I hope people remember this if BHVR decides to take a sledgehammer to their favorite thing in the game…
I hope people remember this if BHVR decides to take a sledgehammer to their favorite thing in the game…
They already did this to sadako. I enjoyed and loved playing as her first/original version and they removed the whole playstile I liked about her.
-
@caipt said:
Typically to compensate for the basekit effect scaling with the addon. Its arguable whether or not its necessary in most cases, but that is the reason. I.E. they wanted sadako to have more addon variety, but didnt want her max invisiblity duration boosted all that much with reikos. That said, give sadako 1.5s invis basekit and have reikos give like a 15% speed boost during it while increasing manifest time or smth
Would be nice to have the 1.5s basekit, I wonder wether or not her invisibility is still bugged.
-
I agree with the tome challenges, but not with the rest. I‘m having one of the best times in this mode. It feels for fair as survivor, which I can‘t say for the normal mode and it is extremely chill to play killer. I never had a bad time on either side there and I played relatively 50/50 both sides.

What happens if another killer or perk is fundamentally problematic? Do we just need to obliterate it with 5 nerfs until a rework comes whenever BHVR sees fit?If it's actually problematic? Yes. Ideally you would rework something, or change if its overtuned, but obliterating something is preferable to it ruining the game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3800431#Comment_3800431
Twins like 3? And they still messed up the rework. Onryo they reworked and even the mains said it was a mistake to the point they had to take her back.Twins and Sadako were different issues.
Twins was being reworked because of complaints from both survivors and killers (though for survivors nothing on the level of skull merchant). They failed at the rework pretty spectacularly, but it had a different origin.
Sadako is a tough case. A playstyle emerged that caused problems and instead of an addon nerf they did a character overhaul. I'd disagree with the idea though that the mains disliked her versions. Some people really liked it, and some players hated it. People seem to have differing opinions on her various iterations.
I wished they just reverted the Onryo rework completely, she is still extremely unfun to play, because survivors have far too much control over her. I would even say her first rework was better than this version, but the original was still the best. They completely nuked her with the last rework. She is only good against people who have no clue what to do now and everyone else has a super easy time.
-
Why do you act like this is something new?
They do this all the time with perks on a regularly basis. Did you forget MFT, UW, Adre, Ruin, DH, STBFL,….
All those perks got nerfed too harsh and deserved better.

@bjorksnas said:
Medkits were nerfed for a few reasons
- Reusablility, with medkits, perks, and charge addons, you could easily get 2 basekit + 1 from charge addon + 1 syringe for 4 heals off just items alone on each survivor, throw in something like built to last that 1 medkit is now good for 3 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 for a total of 10 heals. Thats just silly and thats with just the item and 1 perk
- Time efficiency, survivors objective takes ~450 seconds of repairing gens, healing yourself took 16s, being healed by someone else takes a cumulative 32s, being able to half the time wasted in a match by being self sufficient for every time you need to be healed adds up quickly, throw 4 survivors into it and the discrepency in time spent is better than the time most toolboxes buy. Brown medkit 16s saved, brown toolbox 5.33s saved, even a commodius only saves 10.66s, and thats off one heal from a brown medkit
- Speed, you could heal off injuries at a silly rate pre update you could bring a green medkit, botany knowledge, resilience, and deperate measures for a minimum 123% healing speed, a 7 second self heal just shouldn't happen, and after it does you shouldn't be able to do it a second time or use a syringe with the same effect. And when they were nerfed circle of healing was still around so just assume its another 50% on top of that.
Medkits are now in a more balanced spot, they give a bit of independence buy a bit of time by freeing up a teammate, provide healing at moments in a match where it can make a difference.
You shouldn't be able to heal yourself 10 times per game
You shouldn't be able to save 16s minimum every time the killer hits you with their weapon recovering
And you shouldn't be able to heal in 7s from a multi use item
A game should not be about watching a stupid bar fill up
-
We need the medkits from before the nerf back. It sucks that all medkits are the same. Items are meant to be survivor powers and not just something you took out of trash bin. They have no charges and they don‘t increase healing speed in a meaningful way.
-
Wow you are making a drama out of nothing and I agree with devs slugging isn’t common. It‘s not even too strong.
