MFT was nerfed, because it was too powerful. Really bad example to bring it up.

MFT was only strong against weak killers. Against stronger ones it didn’t do much.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/442490/pentimento-change-values

We'll be sharing the exact value changes as part of the patch notes, which will release next week alongside the PTB.

Asking this here because I don’t want to create an extra discussion for this short question.

Are you going to adjust all haste perks (dark theory as well) or only certain ones?

  • @Crowman said:

Nah. Survivors already have tools to help against the killer returning immediately after being unhooked. No reason to take away valuable information from the killer, because you refuse to use existing tools.

Survivors can’t even equip enough tools to counter all unfun situations and let alone they aren’t effective.

  • Do I see other players perks in this lobby perk preview as well or only mine?

Pentimento is very questionable depending on what values we will get, because you almost never get over two totems. The removal of exit gate opening speed and recovery speed, just why? Seeing the aura of the totems will make it useless together with all the other changes.

Generators no longer making boom as soon as you leave them will be great as well as the pre-equipped items/addons and Rift/Quest/Archive changes.

The unhooking spam prevention is questionable implemented again. It would be much better to allow survivors to unhook themself after someone unhook spammed them 4 times on the current hook stage than limiting us to 3 unhook tries across all survivors.

Not a fan of the hindered/ haste change since it removes a lot of cool interactions and makes some perks even more useless than they already were. Maybe I change my view if they finally decide to buff boon dark theory and boons in general.

  • I dislike haste no longer stacking too, but I will give it a try if it means we finally get a boon dark theory buff.

  • I watched @MechWarrior3 play him and I would say he Isa lot better on console now.

no? honestly people should start running babysitter lightweight iron will otr or something rather than buffing survivors across the board on top of the meta perks they already have

It shouldn’t be required to use situational/bad perks to combat an unfun playstile, that is not even countered by those perks. This buff is extremely minor and if you’d really want to tunnel you still could, but if you’d rather have DS basekit to combat an unhealthy playstile that’s fine too.

  • Anti swf is not possible to implement (and it shouldn’t be implemented). No one should get punished for playing with friends.

Anti gen rush is coming already and is confirmed by behavior! Probably in the next ptb.

On its own, and on paper, The Ghoul's power is fine and fun to control.
(Even though this is the third back-to-back double dash Killer in a row this year that's been released and the powers are getting a little repetitive, but I digress and that's neither here nor there)

However, in practice, The Ghoul is very annoying and unfun to play against, as well as a balancing nightmare: The Ghoul can close almost any gap instantly and immediately follow up with an M1 attack. And there is just nothing Survivors can do about it.

This instant distance and follow up makes it impossible for the Survivors to reach anywhere after a pallet is broken, and it feels incredibly bad, on top of several other features.

I think The Ghoul needs some heavy nerfs and alterations to feel both balanced and good to go against, and any of these in combination (but none in isolation) would make him feel much better to play against:

    1. Remove the autoaim. I know you guys are proud of this feature and are confident that this makes the Killer feel better, but obviously autoaim will make any Killer feel better to play as (and like total crud to play against). Automatically being given free hits feels good! But that's not what should be happening. It feels wretched to go against as Survivor. A killer this strong, powerful, and more importantly free should not have autoaim, he should have to aim and work for his shots and damage.
    2. Remove the Survivor Stun on Grab Attacks, or at least make it an instant rather than half a second of paused movement. Getting stopped in your tracks by an auto-aim power feels BAD. Incredibly bad. Full-stop, please don't ever take control of player movement away from the player in a game, please. But in addition to making him feel better to verse, this would also give Survivors a chance to get some more distance before Ghoul comes barreling down the aisle with another Kagune leap.
    3. Increase both the duration and strength of the animation and slowdown for Cancelling Kagune Leap power. It is almost impossible for Survivors to react to the speed with which The Ghoul can cut them off around almost any corner.
    4. Make it impossible to cancel Kagune Leap while The Ghoul is mid-leap. This will give Survivors more opportunity to react to Kaneki and reposition after being cut off: A huge thanks to The Ghoul's lethality is his ability to immediately follow up with an M1 from a leap thanks to being able to cancel mid-leap. While it makes him feel even sleeker to play as, for balancing sake I don't think he should be able to do this and I don't think it will detract from his overall smoothness and well-roundedness to play as..
    5. Consider slowing the Leap speed. The real dangerous nature of this Killer is their ability to pinpoint precisely where they want to be, point, click, and he's instantly there. Survivors should have some opportunity to observe what is happening and change course.
    6. Consider slowing the base speed of this Killer. Especially if nothing else is nerfed, Kaneki can cover more distance than Nurse can in nearly an instant, and then instantly follow up with an M1. If it wasn't for the fact that the M2 can't down Survivors, I would even suggest that he be slower than Survivors just like Nurse, but that is not the case. Either way, with a speed power this intense, I think it's fair to make him significantly slower.

I think the cooldown of the Kagune Leap itself is fine, actually: The problem is this is not a power that can be balanced by just making it incredibly undodgeably powerful, but it's forced-balanced because players just can't use it for a long time. Increasing the cooldown would not change the lethal nature of the power. The problem is that it's nearly uncounterable when it is used in the right hands in the right place, and Survivors need to be given more opportunity to react.

The first one is the only good suggestion and would already massively weaken him.

Lowering his base speed would make him very weak and frustrating to play. His power isn’t reliable or strong enough to get downs on its own. After all he’s still an m1 killer after the injury that can’t down you with his power.

All the other changes aren’t good and would only remove the fun parts of him (being able to travers the map fast and catch up quickly).

All nerfs should be aimed at making him more skillful rather than nerfing him. One suggestion from one of my friends was to increase his sliding more, so if he messes up he will slide past the survivor and has to catch up again like with Wesker.

  • Yeah it is very frustrating. I’ve uploaded a bug report for sadako’s demanifested invisibility bug like 2-3 months ago and this bug is already a year old. At houndmasters release they fixed the bug partially but not completely. Now there are still 0.2seconds of invisibility missing without any confirmation on whether they are going to fix it or not.

It was a lot more fun, long before Boons became a thing.
You had overpowered stuff on both sides, it was chaotic and fun. I'd say the time period between 2018 and 2020 was the best.
You had Silent Spirit - Master of yoinking people off of gens. Omegablink Nurse, Iri-Head Huntress with 3 hatchets, OG Billy (who didn't shout "WAAAAAAAH" everytime he used his chainsaw). And then you had all the OP stuff on survivor side as well. Old Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, OG Decisive, Actual instaheals, and so much more.

Back then, you also had the old maps, the old HUD and the old animations. And more importantly, you also had RANKS, and a good matchmaking system.

I started to play a few months before old circle of healing got removed, so this is what I’m comparing the game with. Maybe it was before or worse before, but how would I know.

Why exactly should I want the old hud back? It was in no world better in the past.

  • I agree with making his terror radius smaller, but 24 meters is too small, especially since he’s not supposed to be a stealth killer. I’d give him 28 meter terror radius, so he is a little harder to keep track of while setting up traps which make them harder to find.

At least they are trying. I don't think they listen to the right people, though.

    100% this

Thanks for keeping everyone up to date @CountOfTheFog 😊

I agree with @Langweilig and am tired of being a broken record, the game was the best before 6.1 period. After wesker project w release ( my favorite chapter) that is when all hell broke loose started with no skill knight to this current patch game is killer sided for almost now a whopping 3 years. Every killer now after wesker is just no skilled and ez mode, stupidity op ( waves at singularity for example)

Sadly that’s what the majority of the community wants. You can’t really blame behavior for this development.

Edit: My main problem is that survivor became mostly frustrating to play. Most loops are less than a 50/50 for survivors and free hits for the killer with no real way to play them unless you live in dbd. The perks for both sides are extremely dumbed down and aren’t really impactful. I still don’t understand how behavior hasn’t buffed all the weaker perks and still releases perks that no one will ever play. It’s so easy to make all the weaker perks better without making them meta if that is what behavior fears. I already uploaded a discussion with ideas on how to buff like a 100 perks. For some reason they don’t want variety. At least that’s how it feels to me.

  • I liked dbd more as they weren’t listing to all the complains. It was a lot more fun before the circle of healing nerf!

  • The long awaited Sadako buff!!! Finally something!

  • I like getting oil and filling up those generators a lot more than sitting there for ages to do a generator and the killer easily finding you.

About the perks not interacting with it. I don’t mind the regression perks, but fire up is frustrating. Killer power and addons not affecting them is probably frustrating as well, but don’t play them so I’m not affected.

  • Can you please close it and confirm it is intended to be 0.2 seconds less or fix it. This bug is already so old. It’s just frustrating at this point

  • I’m also looking for someone to play with. I’m from Germany 20 years old. No idea what else to write that is fitting in here. Regardless I’d be happy getting a message back if someone’s interested.

The downvotes allow for downvote-brigading from bad actors and are a huge issue like on Reddit, they need to go. They add nothing and create bad faith.

That’s not even the worst part of it. There are now a lot less people actually engaging in discussions than before the change. Before they had to comment to say the dislike something and you could respond. Now they just downvote and leave the conversation.

  • Can we split up the feedback and suggestions section in the forum into one that is just about complaining or saying you like stuff and one that is filled with ideas for new/old perks, addons reworks and killer buffs/reworks? One that is more for creative things, buffs and new features.

It feels really bad that if you spend a long time coming up thinking about ideas and you post it, but it instantly disappears under all the complaints.

Sounds great for Silence then. Just means it would retain the effect but be less annoying to players from the sound.

I love the Fog idea. This would be really cool! I wonder if it would be an issue for lower end pc's or systems? I suppose to make it easier to implement and less hard on lower systems they could system use Dredges Darkness as the effect? Already created and less intense since it just blackens. I agree fog would be cool though lol

It would probably not be an issue for lower end pcs. In the past fog was used a lot in games to make them look better and so they don’t have to render as much distance.

Yeah they could use dredges nightfall, paint it white or the color of the realm and remove the smaller field of view decrease and it’s done.

For status effect changes I would like to see:

    • Mangled and hemorrhage’s times is paused or runs down slower while in chase, running and on hook. Those nerfs made these status effect so bad.
    • Hemorrhage leaving trails of blood behind.
    • Blindness removing killer object auras or only making them appear in a limited range. Very unlikely to happen tho.
  • Ghoul at 4.4 would be so trash, he would be unplayable

  • @SoGo said:

    Deafened:

    • No longer makes a tinnitus like sounds.

    • Now completely blocks all in-game sounds.

    New status effect: Amnesia

    • Removes the entirety of the HUD of the player affected by it.

Why would you want to remove the tinitus sound completely and not make it a new status effect?

The current deafened is used forexplosions and maybe other stuff, but there it makes sense.

I appreciate how long it takes to spend BP, unfortunately there was no way possible to get this feature into the game in time :( we'd have really liked it to have been there as well.

That’s sad. Hopefully we’ll get it soon. I would have so many p100 characters with this feature or faster spending speed and without pop up after each level. Please suggest those two changes to the team.

Mandy what is the reason why you removed those circle things from last years blood moon event? They were cool even when they didn’t do much.

And a thing I wanted to ask for a longer time; is there something planned for the Onryo in the near future?

Wouldn't Silence just be what Deafened already is +visual heartbeat removal?

How would you implement Fog as a perk? Or do you mean part of some new killer?

Deafened makes you hear a tinitus and muffles all kinds of sounds. Silence would remove all sound, basically making you hear nothing at all.

It could be both (part of a power and addons/perks). You would see everything in a 24meters radius but everything outside of that would be blocked by a white fog wall.

    image.jpeg
  • Great news, but a cap isn’t needed at all

black and white vision (no color)

reverse directions (move joystick left, character moves right)

The black and white one would be funny.

  •  Silence

    • Everyone becomes deaf and doesn't hear anything. The visual heartbeat deactivates.

Basically an upgraded version of oblivious, that is especially useful on killer with a lullaby, but it also creates a scary atmosphere.

    Fog

    • There is a wall of fog which blocks your view and auras outside of a 24 meter radius.

I had this idea from silent hill and since the devs refuse to make the actual fog a bigger part of the game, this could be a way.

  • I gave up on haddonfield and came to the realization, that behavior only changes maps if killers are crying about them.

Making it so it goes up like a firework would be fun tho.

Why do you think it screws over random teammates?

I actually like this perk (even if it’s not that good), because it makes the gameplay feel better, a tiny bit faster and it actually safed me two times from a flashlight safe already.

The token requirement while being unnecessary is almost unnoticeable. You reach max tokens so fast. I just wished they would allow for something like 15 tokens (60%). It would feel so much better and would probably not need any more changes.

For a secondary effect I have only bad not for the perk fitting ideas, so I’m not going to bother you with them.

Some interesting changes and ideas overall. However BHVR isn't likely to rework Onryo to such a degree. There are a few ideas here though that would be great as minor tweaks or balance changes to help put Onryo is a better place. Specifically regarding the add-ons, here is what I would propose within the frame of the current rework that is more likely to be accepted by BHVR.

    • Change Clump of Hair add-on to make her lullaby map-wide or non-directional. Or tack on that effect to its existing ones.
      • Current effect is basically useless and with the VTR feature, Onryos stealth has suffered a lot. As a result playing stealth Onryo is even less viable than condemn Onryo compared to before.
    • Change Rickety Pinwheel and Sea Soaked Cloth add-ons as suggested but have range be 12 meters for powered TVs and 6 meters for unpowered TVs.
      • These add-ons need to have their effects apply to unpowered TVs now since Onryo's rework has made it so survivors are basically never sitting around powered TVs and turn them off right away to avoid condemn. As such the current effects of these add-ons is really bad.
    • Change VCR add-on to have your suggested effect of giving all survivors a stack of condemn each time a gen is completed.
      • This would make this add-on actually useful for it being purple rarity and add a balanced effect. The current effect of this add-on essentially does noting, especially against good survivors who will just look at the TV aura and know.
    • Change Iri-tape add-on so that survivors either can't see the auras of TVs (fine since they can't apply condemn) or make it so that survivors holding a tape cannot turn off other TVs until they drop their tape off.
      • This makes it so good survivors can't completely shut down her power when Onryo uses this add-on by just running around turning off TVs with basically no risk high reward, especially given the extra unpowered duration debuff the add-on has.

What do you think about blocking the exit gates for fully condenmend survivors for 15 seconds?

  • Same I hope they just make his m2 a skill shot (that can be missed) before they try to further nerf him.

  • I don’t think you purely escaped because of this perk. 5 % doesn’t make a pig enough distance especially if you don’t have it over a longer period of time. Quick gambit always deactivates by the first hit and therefore is not active much. It safes like 5 seconds if survivors work on a generator for full 100 seconds chase time and multiplies up to four if those survivors were on a generator the whole time.

  • It should get buffed but in no world nerfed

  • I’m not against having those options as fast way to express yourself, but we should be able to write the same stuff as pc people even when it takes more time.

RBTs aren't meant to be giving reliable kills, and nor should they be, that'd be miserable to play against. The purpose of the RBTs is to force survivors to spend time running between boxes to avoid that death- that tradeoff doesn't work if they can slow the game down tremendously and potentially die for it.

The RBTs are her identity, and that identity is slowdown, not kills that avoid the hook mechanic. Her slowdown is completely unparalleled, it's her biggest strength- which is why it's better than the search logic was equalised a little, because previously, all four survivors getting their traps off on the first search basically neutered her biggest strength.

The purpose of buffing her movement speed would be to make her more stealthy, though, to be clear. I don't want to lean too hard into Ambush either, we need more killers whose strengths aren't some kind of dash or projectile.

I don’t agree with her traps purpose only being for slowdown. What you have to keep in mind is, that this slowdown only works if her traps are lethal. Make them only slowdown and they won’t work as that anymore. Those buffs would not even make her much stronger regardless. Everytime I play against pig, I have at least 40% of the time left after I removed them even with 4 searches. I would even say that she should get those 10 seconds less timer for a very simple and obvious reason: Maps are smaller. This nerfs her traps a lot and survivors get off their traps a lot faster.

Let’s just agree to disagree on this point.

What's the thought process behind the first and last suggestions, there? The only result I could really see coming from those changes is that head pops become more likely, which obviously isn't a great outcome in the least.

I could get behind Ruleset No. 2 being basekit, though I'm not sure how punishing that'd be against newer or less coordinated players. Maybe not a hard reason not to do it, but something to be concerned with.

The addon change sounds fine ofc, those addons aren't really worth running right now. Unsure about the box logic changes, that kinda sounds like it might be worse for Pig overall, I like the buff they gave box logic a while back. I think that part works pretty much perfectly right now, I don't see the downsides to it at all- what's the issue you'd be trying to fix there?

Plus, as I mentioned, I think Pig should move faster while crouched. She already can't attack without either standing up or charging a telegraphed dash, so I don't see why she shouldn't be allowed to move around the map at normal speed while crouched.

You were right by saying I want to increase head pops, which is basically my reason behind everything and no I don’t think it would be something bad to make them stronger. Only thing they’d need to fix is following a survivor around.

I don’t know why you ask about the first suggestion since 10 seconds less trap timer gives survivors less time → increase head pop chances.

Huntress lullaby working with boxes would make those skill checks silent or make the sound play later, which makes survivors miss more often and therefore combined with those two addons, which I want to merge, survivors would have to mend first or get injured easier. In the end survivors who mess those skill checks up would die more likely. If I’m not wrong missing skill checks resets your progress on boxes.

The box logic changes I’m suggesting would be either hit or miss. It allows to have 4 survivors with 4 searches or 4 survivors with 1 search. I like the luck component more than the rng behind it.

I’d be fine with crouching faster, but if it comes with a trap nerf again. No thank you!!! Her identity are the tarps, making them just slowdown and her another dash anti loop killer is boring. It was already a huge disappointment that they removed the box auras.

A nerf against screaming builds I would suggest is, that the traps progress decays over time instead of resetting it to cero.

  • However BHVR isn't likely to rework Onryo to such a degree.

Maybe we just need to fight hard enough together and don’t give up to archive our goals. I haven’t given up yet. Her first version was the healthiest to this day. Only thing they had to do besides buffs, was making ring drawing not work on slugs and introduce condemned look in.

Your Clumb of hair effect sounds nice. Would you remove its current effect or keep it? And I agree that stealth needs a buff.

Again agree with everything. The current design of onryos condemned makes that addon basically useless. We have the same idea to buff rickety pinwheel and sea soaked cloth🙂. What do you think of it giving the silence instead of oblivous effect?

VCR should keep its effect even tho it isn’t really useful at the moment. The effect is one of the more unique and interesting ones we have in the game and it getting deleted would be sad. Instead they should solve the problem at its root and give it an effect on the TV auras if they are unwilling to remove them. Thanks for liking my suggestion tho.

Your iri tape suggestion goes in the right direction, but survivors being able to turn off TVs is completely unnecessary when you can’t have condemned. They should not be able to see the Tv auras and turn off TVs with that addon in play.

Out of curiosity, what exactly about Pig's traps would you buff? They're in a pretty damn good spot at the moment, I can't see what you'd be able to buff without it becoming unhealthy.

I've always thought Pig's crouched movement speed is the only thing left that's really undertuned in her kit, so I'd lean towards buffing that, personally.

    • 10 seconds les on the timer
    • Rule set number two basekit
    • Something that is a nerf and buff at the same time:
      • Survivors have a physical key they need to find in one of the boxes (like before it got changed), but we have five boxes like now and the 4th guarantees the key.
    • Two trap addons merged: The one that injures you and makes skill checks smaller with the one that makes you deep wounded
    • Huntress lullaby works with the boxes

That’s all I want for pig, but I would be happy enough with just huntress lullaby working.

    What are your thoughts?

  • Buff

Sadako: The things I suggested in my discussion

Trapper: Smaller terror radius (24-28m), Traps spawn armed and at windows/ pallets, can carry 4 traps and placing traps becomes a lot faster

    Pig: Trap buffs

    Nerfs

Nurse: Shorter lundge or longer token recharge

    Wraith: Light burn reintroduced

    Clown

  • Killer is just way easier and a lot more fun than survivor

  • Hex Two can play shouldn’t be hex and work like enduring. Additionally increase the stun duration to 3,5 seconds and we have a great perk!

For forever entwined I really hope for that number buff or that they just double its tokens.

How long are you going to continue with adding perks to the list ? It’s kinda wild. I would find it funny if you would start with dbds first chapter instead of Tools of torment. Keep it up👍

  • I like him very much on both sides, but there is one thing that bothers me a little: His first hit is always free. If they will ever nerf him, I would want them to make the injury more of a skill shot while allowing him to down with his power.

  • Or they give him a 0 meter terror radius in crawler mode

1 … 19 20 21 22 23 … 51
