They've hard capped the pickup speed at 42%, so I doubt they'll want anything like that to happen.
Wow, that’s dumb! Why would they have something like light born which makes flashlight safes impossible and then add a cap

Yeah I agree it totally feels good, just missing any practicality for it. Like if we were worried about blinds, just run Lightborn with less steps and guaranteed…and even then I think Lightborn is always a wasted perk slot anyway.
To put into perspective, it could even be 100%, IE pick up, drops and hooks would be instant animations..and you'd still only save like 1/3 of what most time saving perks currently save you. Not saying they should do this, just illustrating how bad it is.
I would say it is better than light born. Whenever someone found out you got light born, it always became a wasted perk slot, that didn’t do anything. This perk still safes you time, helps you catch up on sabotaging/body-blocking survivors and in endgame.
The sad thing about the perk is behavior will probably not touch and leave it as is.

Here's some builds I copied over from the Discord.
Plaything/THWACK + Face the Darkness + Infectious Fright + Deathbound |Add-ons Crate of Gear + Tempered Timer
Grim Embrace + PR + BBQ + DMS Add-ons: No surprise here Iri Tape + R#2
Tempered Timer and CoG would be the go-to add-ons for applying maximum pressure. You can always flex something for Corrupt Intervention or Surge if you think you're not building enough gen pressure.
I’ll try them tomorrow, thx.
Has anyone else tried pig with monitor? It’s kinda insane.
-
I actually like this perk (even if it’s not that good), because it makes the gameplay feel better, a tiny bit faster and it actually safed me two times from a flashlight safe already.
The token requirement while being unnecessary is almost unnoticeable. You reach max tokens so fast. I just wished they would allow for something like 15 tokens (60%). It would feel so much better and would probably not need any more changes.
For a secondary effect I have only bad not for the perk fitting ideas, so I’m not going to bother you with them.

I did not get a timeframe, but from my understanding, all of them will be gone. So there will only be one Badham Map, there will only be one Ormond Resort-Map, there should be only one MacMillan-Map for each Location (so one Coal Tower, one Suffocation Pit etc.) and the extra Yamaoka-Maps should be removed.
Those are all of them, if I dont forget anything.

Not really. You take tapes for turning TVs off or for removing condemned.
So when I say that there's no reason to take tapes, I'm referring to the version of Sadako that worked like this before (I honestly forget if this was the first or second version of Onryo at this point tbh). The primary complaint from killers was that survivors had no reason to interact with the TV's and condemn was basically a complete non-issue. We already tried this version, killers hated it because survivors could just ignore the TV's entirely, and they changed it.
Maybe I should have clarified, but if she follows you while you are holding a tape you won’t gain condemned.
So I think I described it incorrectly. When I said that "you get fully interrupted and can't get rid of the tape of the Onryo follows you to a tv" I was referring to your increased TV interaction speed (Increase the tape insertion, grabbing and the speed for turning off TVs to 1,5-2s (was 0,5s/1s)). At that point, an Onryo with something like STBFL can potentially attack, recover, and attack again before the survivor can finish inserting into a TV.
At 7 or 8 tokens, the blade wipe is less than 2 seconds. And account for lag means that the surivor will not be able to finish inserting the tape before they are not only hit twice, but still hold the tape. Especially with your "hooking a survivor holding a tape gives everyone stacks" and "locks in all condemn progress" changes, the new meta is to just follow anyone with a tape and use STBFL. There's really nothing the survivors can do, except body block as the obsession (and anti-body blocking is on the way).
It does. Can you tell me why you thought so?
I misread your "projecting doesn't turn off the TV" statement when typing this. That's my mistake.
Currently only people who don’t understand her die to condemned, because it is highly abusable against them and in high levels it is extremely useless, because survivors can hard counter her in every aspect.
Condemned is far too strong of a base kit ability to make it anything that can be very consistent, or even the primary, way to kill survivors. You aren't really making the character "easier to understand", you're simply removing any aspects of the kit that survivors have any influence on.
In particular, making the team suffer because of those "survivors who struggle to understand her" is one giant flaw here. I don't want to be punished simply because my RNG solo queue teammate didn't get the memo. I shouldn't get condemned for something that I have no control over, can't communicate with or to this teammate, can't use perks or items to mitigate. This just feels like a "win more" mechanic for the killer whenever there is a weak link on the team.
As an example, you talk about removing the fact that TV's disable on projection. So, they tried something similar to this before (not exactly, but close) and they had to add a cooldown on her power for it to even be considered. That was loudly decried as a terrible move. But you don't even include a cooldown, so we're going back to teleportako. Killers will just teleport incessantly (probably between two different TV's) and stack condemned, especially with the increased radius you mentioned. And since the teleport animation cancels survivor interaction, it's almost impossible to get to a TV and shut it off before the killer can teleport to it and hit you. On smaller maps, or two story maps, this is nearly impossible to avoid, and has no downside or side effect for the killer to do this until someone eventually hits max condemn stacks.
The TV's and projection CD are supposed to be a renewable resource for the killer to decide to use, but this just makes it an infinite, spammable ability for Onryo players who can't (or won't) manage their kit's resources properly.
The unfortunate reality here is that these changes will just mean survivors don't have to interact with the TV's at all, and literally the only play will be to gen rush this killer before condemned can be permanently locked in on someone. The only way I see people having to interact with the TV's is an Onryo spamming teleport to force condemned, and pushing for a one-shot down in half of one chase. That sounds like the most boring gameplay I can imagine, for everyone involved.
People who didn’t play her complaint about her design, not the actual Sadako mains. Sure we wanted buffs but NO reworks
I wouldn’t even make tapes a never touch like you describe it. I would just shift the point of touching tapes to a different point in time and not make it a mindless tape grabbing simulator.
I never had a problem with her condemned being not strong in her first version, because teleport was good and useful, which it is no longer, but at the same time her condemned is not good as well.
At that point, an Onryo with something like STBFL can potentially attack, recover, and attack again before the survivor can finish inserting into a TV.
You shouldn’t be able to remove stacks during chases in front of the killer without having enough time for the interaction. It being like that is just dumb.
locks in all condemn progress
I only suggested locking in all stacks on the second hook stage, because it doesn’t matter there either way. Either you get morried or she hooks you, in both cases you die. After the second hook Sadako could as well just use a mori offering for the same effect.
anti-body blocking is on the way
Sadako can already go through people while demanifested.
Condemned is far too strong of a base kit ability to make it anything that can be very consistent
It isn’t too strong in my version. The counterplay would just not be brain dead bullying the killer like it is right now. My build up would also give survivors plenty of time to remove their condemned, because the build up wouldn’t be very fast.
You aren't really making the character "easier to understand
So please explain to me how making tapes more intuitive is not making them easier to understand?
- Tapes are for removing condemned - makes sense
- Turning off TVs - makes sense
- I removed the part where you have to turn off TVs in advance - which is not intuitive and not easy to understand for any player that almost never plays against her
- Condemned is a passive build up over time, that allows Sadako to mori you - easier to understand than the current version.
Alone changing/removing the third part makes her a lot simpler than she currently is for players who struggle. I play her a lot and this is one of the big issues she offers for them.
simply removing any aspects of the kit that survivors have any influence on.
It’s not just influence, it’s like they have the full control over the whole power, which is why I would change it. Survivors can basically remove her power completely if they decide to. That is not good design.
removing the fact that TV's disable on projection. So, they tried something similar to this before (not exactly, but close) and they had to add a cooldown on her power for it to even be considered
You have no idea what you are talking about. She had a cooldown on her teleport, because she did spread condemned map wide via her tp. It had nothing to do with the actual teleport ability. She wouldn’t even be able to spam spread condemned unlike in the current version and I had added a cooldown which you probably didn’t see.
I shouldn't get condemned for something that I have no control over, can't communicate with or to this teammate, can't use perks or items to mitigate. This just feels like a "win more" mechanic for the killer whenever there is a weak link on the team.
It will barely do anything, which you’ll see if you try out ring drawing. I can understand that you don’t like being punished for other peoples mistakes, but oni, plague …. can do the same and they are considered fine. It can’t even be forced like you say, because you require a tape for the effect, which is completly under the survivors control.
But you don't even include a cooldown, so we're going back to teleportako. Killers will just teleport incessantly (probably between two different TV's) and stack condemned, especially with the increased radius you mentioned.
The current version is not even better in that regard.
- TVs would have their own condemned cooldown, which I just assume you didn’t read
- She wouldn’t spread condemned map wide, which makes it impossible to do the old mindless playstile, which I very much despise myself.
- I only suggest removing the cooldown for her teleport not the condemned spreading. I just assume you didn’t read that part.
It is only the teleport that can be spammed not condemned, which gives you so many clues already, that you should be able to manage it. If her teleport bothers you just turn the Tv off. You have more than enough counterplay.
The unfortunate reality here is that these changes will just mean survivors don't have to interact with the TV's at all
You are very inconsistent in your statements. At one point you say condemned will be too strong, but how are you going to remove it? Then you say her TVs having no cooldown is a problem, but just take a tape and put them on a 70 second cooldown!? So in what world do survivors never have to interact with TVs ?! Only if they are ignorant.
The thing you really dislike is, you wouldn’t be able to hard counter her without having to put any effort in. The current tape gameplay is nothing more than good mode for survivors over her whole power.
I shouldn't get condemned for something that I have no control over
You have a very big double standard! For the killer to lose his whole power by something he has no control over is great design according to you, but having a minor thing survivors have no control over is ….
-
@MechWarrior3 said:
Cursed objects such as tapes, need downsides. Passive Condemn would be perfect. Thats all shes needs. Adjust how current condemn works to make it fair for survivors too.
Very much agree my friend. I would even be happy if she gets anything minor. Maybe with the upcoming anti systems her kill rate drops and the devs look at her again.
Side note: I really don’t get why people downvote my suggestions (without commenting), when I specifically ask for feedback, so I can adjust these ideas and know how they feel about it. Introducing downvotes to the forum was a very bad idea. It only leads to people avoiding discussions, the very thing the forum is about.

So, there's zero incentive whatsoever to get a tape with this.
Holding a tape gets you condemn stacks, you get fully interrupted and can't get rid of the tape of the Onryo follows you to a tv, and getting hooked with the tape gives everyone condemn stacks.
Grabbing a tape doesn't turn off TV's, so what's the point of going for one ever? You're back to the previous iteration (I forget which exactly tbh) but basically survivors ignored tapes and TV's and it was like the power didn't exist at all.
This also feels a bit like your expecting condemn to be the primary way this killer eliminates survivors, and that's not how it's supposed to work. It's supposed to be passive pressure, a bit of slowdown, and you want it so be something the survivors have a reason to do. It should be rare that condemn gets you a kill, similar to pig hats, but people seem to think this should be both unavoidable, effectively uncounterable, and her primary mode of eliminating survivors. That's not the point of her ability.
So, there's zero incentive whatsoever to get a tape with this.
Not really. You take tapes for turning TVs off or for removing condemned. I don’t want nor do I like the concept of forcing survivors to shut down my TVs, basically removing my whole power at all times like it is right now, especially with no counterplay on sadako’s end. I want to be able to use her TVs to sneak up on survivors like in the past and have a good map presence, which the current concept makes impossible.
Holding a tape gets you condemn stacks, you get fully interrupted and can't get rid of the tape of the Onryo follows you to a tv, and getting hooked with the tape gives everyone condemn stacks.
Maybe I should have clarified, but if she follows you while you are holding a tape you won’t gain condemned. I reintroduced this mechanic back from her first version, where the passive condemned timer was paused if you were in chase or if she was in a 16 meter radius to your location.
Grabbing a tape doesn't turn off TV's
It does. Can you tell me why you thought so? Then I can edit it to avoid more misunderstanding.
I don’t want her condemned to be super oppressive nor do I want it to be ONLY slowdown. A middle ground between not hindering her other abilities and being good. Saying it is supposed to only be slowdown ignores how it was in the past. In her first you could use her map presence very well and condemned (if you played well), in her second version you could only use her condemned (because all TVs were shut down just like in her current version). However in her current version her condemned is trash as well as her map presence.
That's not the point of her ability.
Currently not, but it once was. That can change if behavior decides to.
I’m trying to make her more even across skill levels and simpler to understand. Currently only people who don’t understand her die to condemned, because it is highly abusable against them and in high levels it is extremely useless, because survivors can hard counter her in every aspect.
-
@Yippiekiyah said:
I do think there should be more of a downside of holding a tape. Good survivors know you just grab a tape from the start and u are very unlikely to ever get to the stage where u can be mori’d.
I try to solve that by making her more consistent against all skill levels, but I would make her condemned spreading speed slower against people who don’t understand her.

Scream Pig does alright. I almost never run this, but heads do pop more often when I do:
Perks: Face The Darkness, Sloppy, Undying, Surveillance
Addons: Crate of Gears, Rule Set No. 2
Face the Darkness and Undying make it less likely to lose the key to the build. Sloppy makes it harder to stop the screaming that interrupts the box searches. Crate of Gears makes the searches take longer. Rule Set No. 2 tends to keep people from searching for boxes effectively until their timer is running. I use Surveillance on that build as a way to get free hits to reactivate Face the Darkness and push a bit of gen regression. Obviously, if you replace Undying, you'll be more effective, but it's higher risk. This build kind of lets me chill out and not work hard, but I find it's not as funny as I want…
Thanks for the build I tried it a few times and I got one head pop. My only problem was that I constantly got gen rushed and that looping with her was quite frustrating. Respect to everyone maiming pig. It’s rough.

The first. Being able to re-shut a gate would work better as a base-kit feature.
Imagine having 3 people camping gate and then just closing it while the last one is on hook, this would be hilarious.
I would probably put the gate regression speed on tricksters or Freddy’s endgame perk, so we wouldn’t need to equip another perk for this effect.

Gate progress decays by 2% every second until the end game collapse starts.
That is something a perk could do.
Hitting a gate switch closes that gate, or resets all progress back to zero. Yes, survivors can be locked out in this way.

I’m not a fan of the rest.

Now Boons are a whole other issue. Honestly Boons are unhealthy/flawed design in their current state. I think it's very hard to find a balance between good but not too good in how they currently work. IE we need reworks to their design, not just "buffs".
They're currently tuned weak bar a couple exceptions. Some like CoH are still way better than the average person thinks they are.
So like 90% of them could use buffs, but we'd need changes to how they function in turn. Let's look at their current design realistically and why it's flawed.
The killers time is worth x4 for each survivors, so we can't look at killer to survivor time in a 1:1 ratio, it's 1:4. So even though him snuffing is instant and it takes the survivor time to Boon it's still more costly for the killer snuffing because of that time he's giving the other survivors. IE if you had one teammate that did nothing the entire game but Boon, Boon, Boon over and over and the killer kept snuffing, snuffing, snuffing, that would be a net win for the survivors in time. Every 10 seconds the killer spends, is 40 seconds given to survivors.
What does all that mean? It means the core supposed "negative" of boons, in that they can be snuffed, is not a negative at all, it's even a positive if the killer wastes time doing it. The only real negative of boons is the perk slot and their limited range.
Another issue I tend to see is people comparing Boon perks relative power to personal alternatives, IE CoH to Botany ect to point out why the boons are bad. To be clear, Boons are supposed to be weaker than those personal alternatives. That's because you are giving their effects to your entire team and saving them those perk slots for other things. That is the tradeoff.
So what's the fix here?
Either snuffing boons needs to be more costly for the survivor so it's an actual downside, or boons needs to be a limited resource.
Probably the best fix here is the totem breaking on snuff like Shattered Hope does. This still makes it a negative time investment for the killer to snuff, but at least the resources are limited by the amount of totems left and the survivor has to find a new totem.
This would allow us to start buffing the Boons across the board.

This would allow us to start buffing the Boons across the board.
That’s basically what I want them to do, but after suggesting this countless times I think behavior will only touch them if they are the worst perks in the game. Realistically this will never happen even tho they aren’t good perks.

Its a horror themed game, doesn't mean killers popping out on top of you and getting a free hit just because you're not on comms takes any skill, there are plenty more intelligent ways to buff ghost face that aren't free. And yes nurse is 1000% more skillful than ghost face, doing well with ghost face doesn't require more skill from the killer player it just requires less coordinated survivors
So why doesn’t ghost face have a 1000 win streak? If nurse is so difficult compared and requires so much more skill than him, ghosty should be able to do the same.

doesn’t need to be super strong imo. I feel like undying is slept on, personally. I would put it on and run boons if we had a boon perk like hex undying.
If we just compare hexes and boons with an undying that works the both the same way, it would be a lot better on hexes, because they work globally. Boons could be spawned at a total trash position where you will never go, so having only one transfer would be really lackluster.
On the other side boons aren’t strong, so having infinite transfers couldn’t be strong either.
-
I honestly don’t care about skull merchant, but her new abilities seem alright and interesting.
The thing is her reputation won’t go away all of a sudden and she will always be hatted because of the old times. I would probably not invest into reworking her, because in the end she will keep being hated and it will all be for nothing.

I’m happy they finally do this. I suggested it way back in a similar form to peanuts as they announced sadako’s second rework.
They should expand it to balance changes to gather feedback in advance for killers, items, addons and perks, so they can improve their suggestions, scrap them or introduce changes that are more requested like clash Royale does it with their balance changes.
I’m kinda hoping for a Sadako design preview, but I will probably be as lucky as @GeneralV and not get back the version I liked (1.0). Unlucky me.

Ok, but I play both sides and still I say stealth killers are faceroll. Very little mechanical/macro skill required if any, usually just taking advantage of lack of info given to survs in uncoordinated teams to sneak up on them and get free hits, that's not skill, thinking it is is just confirmation bias
That’s a wild take. Stealth killers are a lot weaker than the other ones and you know that you play a horror game? These killers are the only ones who actually embody horror to some degree.
You would probably say nurse is more skillful, but on the other hand performing well with ghost face requires a lot more skill.

We're looking to do them for the large reworks, rather than regular tweaks.
Can you tell us which killers you plan to do design previews for (except skull merchant and trickster)?
-
Addon changes
Chase addons
🔴 Iri videotape (rework) - for map traversal
- Hitting a Survivor within 8 seconds after Manifesting turns on the last TV turned off (partially reverted).
- Sadako can teleport to a turned off TV, which activates it afterwards again. She does not spread condemned, when teleporting to a turned off TV 📺. (new)
🟣 Telephone
- Survivors suffer from a -8% (was -3%) hindered Status Effect for 3 seconds, when Manifesting within 7 meters of them.
- Reduces the required time to manifest and demanifest by 0,2 seconds. (new)
🟣 Tape editing deck - for jumpscaring people
- Causes all Survivors start the Trial with a VHS Tape. All survivors must bring their VHS-Tapes to the TV that is furthest from their current location.
- Survivors who are in a 3-5 meter radius to an active TV get twice as many stacks of condemned and are revealed by killer instinct. (new)
🟡 Well stone - for the early game
- At the start of a match she crawls out of a TV next to a survivor and the TVs are not on a 30s long cooldown. (new)
- Reduces the time it takes for TVs to turn back on by -9 (was 7) seconds.
⚪️ Newspaper
- Increases the duration of your full Invisibility after Manifesting and while being demanifasted (new, merged with reikos watch) by +33 %.
We don't need two addons for the same thing.
Condemn addons
🟢 Ring drawing (rework)
- Condemned Survivors spread their Condemnation to other Survivors, who complete a Healing action on an injured Survivor. (revert)
🟢 Well water (rework)
- Every time a generator gets completed every survivor receives a stack of condemned. (New)
🟡 Yoichis fishing net (rework)
- Reduces the time it takes Survivors to acquire another stack of Condemned by -12 % when holding a tape. (revert)
Stealth Adoons
🟢 Rickety pinwheel
- Survivors suffer from the silence (was oblivious) status effect when within 12-16 (was 8) meters of a turned on TV. This effect lingers for 1-2 seconds after leaving its radius (new). When turning the TV off, the addon's range becomes 3-4 (was 0) meters.
🟡 Clump of hair
- Reduces the threshold for full Invisibility while Demanifasted to 12 (was 18) meters and the invisibility lingers for 1s (new).
Alternative playstyle addons
🟡 Sea-soaked cloth
- Survivors suffer from the blindness and fog Status effect when within 12-16m (was 8m) of a turned on TVs. This effect lingers for 1-2 seconds after leaving its radius (new). When turning the TV off, the addon's range becomes 3-4 (was 0) meters.
🟡 Reikos watch
- The haste from protection gets turned into hindered and given to survivors for the duration of the speed around 16 meters of the TV you teleported to. (New)
The victims wouldn’t be able to move like in the movies, while Sadako comes slowly closer to them.
⚪️ Cabin sign
- Hitting a survivor breaks their tape. (New)
New status effect: Silence
- Everyone becomes deaf and doesn't hear anything. The visual heartbeat deactivates.
New status effect: Fog

Swamp maps are great

I would go in a similar, but different direction and make them camouflage as dull totem for the first 30 seconds and until their effects are triggered.
Survivors could still cleanse it, but they would have to be lucky. With your suggestion survivors would probably just wait 30 seconds and distroy it.

I had one called Amnesia that would, in short, remove your HUD completely.
Would be cool, but do you think it would have much of an impact on matches?

It won't affect good blights that much, but it would still make him worse.
Yeah but not in a meaningful way.

If she’s fine then Blight should be 110% end of story
It still won’t change ######### about his performance. It doesn’t matter what speed he has if is power is the same.

They continue to overly nerf the killer perks while giving the slap to the wrist nerfs for survivor perks. Then they decided it was the smartest idea to make OTR busted. GG!
OTR busted. Maybe stop tunneling all the time?! Even when you do it OTR doesn’t do enough.

We need more unique status effects.
Do you have any ideas what new ones they could add?
For another one I can only think of making a smell status effect, where you leave clouds behind, that get smaller and disappear after a certain time.

I’m kinda sick of seeing chucky’s in every second update and other killers being left behind. I know chucky isn’t in the best spot, but him being updated so frequently leaves a bitter taste behind.
I want Sadako to get some chase focused buffs like removed TV auras and condemned nerfs, so passive condemned can be brought back to discourage people from turning off TVs.

If it changes nothing then make all killers 115% again Bloght should not be 115% while Huntress is 110%
I would much rather leave her 110% and move faster while holding hatchets but they wouldn’t let that happen
Huntress doesn’t need a buff, she is literally fine.
All I’m saying is about blight, you could probably make him 4m/s and it would still not change anything about his strength. This nerf would literally not affect him if you want to nerf him.
