Curious, i've tried posting alot of said words people claim is censored in the end game chat yet they don't appear to be so for me.

It seems to take context of surrounding words and previous posts into account, though how it reads that context is anyone's guess. Like, I've had GG blocked before once, and I couldn't say it in that particular endgame chat no matter how many times I tried or in what configuration, but in most chats I'm able to say it.

It also seems to have been changed over time - Yun-Jin and Myers used to always be blocked for me, but now they aren't. But I still have consistent difficulty talking about killing in any tense when it's the main point of the game, and stuff like phones and cameras are verboten for no reason I can comprehend.

  • I'd miss a ton of survivors if I played without sound. Even changing from normal stereo to crappy earbuds really improved my game - so many times I won't see anything, but I'll hear breathing or rustling or footsteps behind me. Not to mention the saved time from knowing if a nearby generator is dead, has progress, or is actively being worked on without having to get the gen in my line of sight.

Also, my eyesight isn't great. I think I could play on Ormond or Eyrie without sound and do fine, but Autohaven or Midwich? Yikes.

  • If she's a baby or a god, not fun. If she knows what she's doing but she's not 'lands every blink, knows where you are before you even decide to go there, IF/Starstruck speedrun' good, she's quite fun and I enjoy the change from the usual chase formula. It swaps out looping for pure reading - just mindgames upon mindgames upon mindgames.

Can deal with range nurse, but double blink recharge is trickier and I don't know how to handle three blink nurse.

    It hasn't. Hemorrhage isn't basekit.

It's like saying lightborn has made flashlights and flashbangs useless.

Sloppy's always been a popular perk, though. It's consistent slowdown for everyone who isn't Plague and it's one of the few generic killer perks that's actually useful, so everyone has it and can run it. It's quite common to play against, especially now that CoH's healing speed has been slowed and the slowdown it causes is more noticeable. It's also popular on Legion, who are all over the place right now. The perk aside, Hemorrhage is also attached to a lot of killer addons - often in tandem with Mangled, which is extremely popular and often brought as a sort of fifth perk slot.

Lightborn isn't commonly run except as a response to seeing tons of flashlights in a lobby, or by baby Billies with no perks/doing their adept.

Solidarity was always garbage compared to other healing perks and needs to do something else, but Resurgence was pretty nice and I used to bring it on occasion - now it's a hard pass. Resurgence always had the chance to be useless, if I was up against a Plague or a basement Bubba or I just never got unhooked, but now it's too likely that it won't do anything for it to be worth running. Think Smash Hit when you can't camp pallets against half the roster.

  • There is nothing, absolutely nothing better in this game than loading into the map, hearing chainsaw noises as you do your first gen, wondering where the killer is, and then finding a Billy on top of a roof somewhere, revving in victory.

But yeah, Billies are some of the fairest and most skilled players I've seen around. I'm always impressed when I see someone who goes for and lands ambitious saws, because I'm absolutely awful with him and the level of precision it takes to curve or flick him accurately around corners or through obstacles is way beyond my grasp.

  • I once saw a clip of someone spawn into this map with a glitch that caused the corn not to show up for them. I think I bookmarked it... yeah, I did. Take a look if you're interested.

Someone stole my corn. Can't have ######### in the entities realm. : deadbydaylight (reddit.com)

It is amazing how empty this map really is. Not BHVR's finest moment. As much as we like to complain, you can really see how map design has evolved from the earliest iterations - ideas like 'this map has low visibility to make up for enormous dead zones' don't work well in practice. We don't get the giant football field maps like Azarov's or Suffo Pit anymore, either.

The mods on the forums say otherwise. Say they’ll only review reports if done in-game. But yeah, not my job to police their game for them.

The extra fun part is that there's a hack to crash your game and/or spam you with text (that renders the button inaccessible) if you try to use the report button, so even if you do record and send in evidence to the support website against someone using such a hack, it'll get discarded because you weren't able to flag the match.

The whole thing is a clusterfuck. The two-part system would be a terrible idea even if it didn't require so much specific effort on the part of the reporters.

  • It's completely defunct. Never on any other game I've played have I seen a report system that required you to record your own evidence and then send it externally. Like I've never seen a game that didn't have the tools to see what was happening on its own platform. From card games to MMOs, that's just not a thing; it goes unspoken that you're able to do your own housekeeping and track what players are doing. And the inefficacy of using the in-game report function isn't even transparent, so players don't realize they're just yelling into the void when they report anything other than chat offenses using the in-game system, or that they're actually expected to be doing something else, unless they're active on the game's social media communities.

This is a big part of the reason there's such a hacker issue in this game - you can play 100 games while cheating blatantly, and you might get 200 reports out of it, but each and every one of those 200 reports will be thrown away unless someone takes external action (which the vast majority players either don't understand they need to do, don't have or know how to run the necessary programs, or just can't be assed to go through that much legwork for something that happens over and over again.) That the game isn't able to verify this stuff internally is embarrassing enough on its own, but people should be flagged for further investigation if they rack up enough reports in a short enough period of time and this really doesn't seem to be the case. Every player is bound to get the occasional report for cheating from confused or salty opponents, but if someone gets fifty reports for cheating in one day, they're probably cheating, and should at the very least get moved up in the queue.

I had a squad do this to me but they used Exponential that they booned somewhere on the side of the map the library is and then kept running to the library. I just went and made a sandwich instead

But was it a Jill sandwich?

(No joke, though, that's the best thing to do - just refuse to be a plaything and do literally anything else.)

Anyway, there was a brief time they addressed this and put hooks on the library balconies, but then killers realized they could bodyblock and completely prevent any hook rescues, so those hooks got taken out and we're back to the original issue of unhookable survivors using map offerings and builds to abuse the area.

Really, they just need to block off the third floor of the map entirely. Nothing good comes from it.

  • ...The bloodweb is the face of DBD? What? The face of what everyone hates and gets frustrated about with DBD, maybe.

The bloodweb is old, clunky, and desperately needs some QoL features to streamline it, increase the ability to get perks you want, and weed out the chaff of the many useless offerings. Somehow I think I'll survive the changes to something I'm used to if it promises a better gameplay experience.

  • Should be soonish. We're seeing skins from tome 5 start to enter the shop, so tome 6 should be on the horizon.

  • Desperately wish they'd give you the option to turn off the censors. For every slur or meanly used swear it blocks my helpless virgin eyes from seeing, I get thirty innocuous comments mangled into an incomprehensible mess. Honestly, the censors do a good job of making other players think I'm being toxic when I'm actually trying to comment about something that happened in the match.

  • He took tips from Freddy.

  • Old Undying just gave too much info. No reason to show people cleansing your hexes. That was what Thrill did, at the time.

I'm pretty unhappy about the changes to Thrill, but I see why the old version was changed. Like, everybody used Thrill as a hex protection perk (now it's a boon preventer perk), but you still had to cross the map to get to a loud noise notification, and there was counterplay via distracting and even bodyblocking. It would be literally impossible to cleanse a hex against Artist. No matter where she is on the map, she can send birds, and the second bird hit will always knock you off the totem. She can defy bodyblocking by shooting from unpredictable angles or with her Severed Hands addon. There's just way too much power there with Devour Hope or Ruin.

It's not a coincidence that Thrill was changed/nerfed right before Artist came out.

  • No thanks. If Twins were free to every account, I'd have to play against more Twins.

    in TWINS Comment by Laluzi
  • That is a lot of status effects. HUD's starting to look a little crowded.

Makes me wonder how many buffs it's possible to stack in there. Maybe if you brought a totem with all four boon perks, someone else is hooked and has Open Handed, Empathic Connection, Kindred, and Blood Pact, you just got unhooked and are now being healed by someone with Babysitter, Bite the Bullet, Aftercare, and Vigil while standing next to the fourth survivor with Streetwise, Prove Thyself, and Up the Ante?

  • At this point, there's so many killers in the roster that it's unusual to see someone often, and that only happens with top-tier killers like Blight or Nurse, best-at-how-they-plays like Huntress or Bubba, new or reworked killers, and whoever is currently being highlighted by the Rift. ...And also Nemesis for some unfathomable reason.

I see him often enough. Probably middle of the road. He's definitely not one of the cryptids like Hag, Pinhead, or Plague.

  • Map offerings are annoying, but they're not toxic - that's entirely on how players behave and why they're doing it.

Ormond's not even that bad... can't say I mind it as long as I'm not a stealth killer. The Game, Badham, and RPD offerings are when you know you're in for a rough time. The medkits here are steep, but you have Franklins to deal with them. Two of those survivors aren't running exhaustion perks, only one has BT, and there's several wasted perk slots here because there's too many CoHs to need and Shadow Step is a dead perk on Ormond. Doesn't look like the worst lobby you could get.

  • Eh, I think if the killer is camping because they intend to down the person immediately if they get off the hook, that's still tunneling. But if they're camping and they happen to down the guy off the hook in the surrounding unhook chaos, that's just profiting off the situation. (Especially if they were originally going after someone else and the unhooked player bodyblocks with BT.)

In my eyes, tunneling is when a killer intends to remove one survivor from the game and targets them until they're dead, ignoring any other targets or objectives that present themselves. Stumbling across the same person several times in a row isn't tunneling, though it can feel like it (particularly because the survivor doesn't know what the killer's intentions are.)

Well when your slugging for the 4th and don't know where they are. It's more of a problem since obvious reasons

I mean, you kind of found your issue right there. People don't like being left on the ground for several minutes, particularly when their teammate isn't coming to pick them up and the killer shows no signs of hooking them. Or worse, when the teammate does pick them up and it turns into a game of looping pickup tag that drags out the match another ten minutes.

While DCs for hatch are definitely a thing... in this scenario, I would suspect less people are leaving specifically because they want their teammate to find hatch and more because they're going "######### this, get me out of here" because you aren't letting them leave otherwise.

  • Reports don't do anything unless you also record the match and send video evidence in a separate report made to BHVR's official website. It doesn't matter if 10 people report them per day for lag switching; until someone takes it up with their support website (which I assume most DBD players don't even know is a thing, much less a necessary one), nothing's going to happen.

It's the main reason why DBD cheaters are so confident about being open about their cheats. A chat record of them admitting to cheating isn't enough to ban them in these parts.

  • @selflessnea It's incredibly easy to tell someone is using a macro. Are you kidding me? A player can only manually smash a key or mouse a couple of times per second - maybe five if they're tapping their index finger, a bit more if they're fluttering their wrist. An automated program does this much more rapidly. When you get that flat buzz that sounds like your computer's hard drive is overheating, someone is using a macro. It is physically impossible for someone to do that manually.

It's so easy to fix this. Contrary to what you're saying, a sensitivity cap that prevents the flashlight from being activated dozens of times per second is a simple implement, and it doesn't have to be at a level that would prevent clicking or quick adjustments to a flashlight save. Or you could just disable or drain the flashlight once it's been shown to be activating at a rate that can't be natural input. I'm an amateur coder and I could throw this together; it's not a complex problem. Again, humans can't spam click on a level of milliseconds.

The only purpose macros serve is BM. The only reason macros even exist is because they're unpleasant and it's an easy way to get negative reactions. They are not good for the game, there is no actual reason to preserve them and I can't really picture any motive to want to defend their usage beyond not wanting to lose a toy. If I'm generous, I could assume you're afraid they'll damage the actual use of flashlights, but it really would not be difficult to stop script clicking in a way that wouldn't affect human input.

And yes, noises can be a problem beyond "boo hoo bad feel get over it." Some people are prone to migraines over grating and repetitive auditory stimulation - I believe this is part of why they're changing Ghostface's chase music.

There is only one Plague cosmetic that you should be using anyways

Good taste. I've already got that crown, and it's tied with the butterfly headdress for my favorite headpiece of hers. I just have a bit of a 'gotta catch 'em all' policy when it comes to her outfits, and I liked the color scheme on the rift 5 recolor.

  • It's pretty weird. It's... theoretically balanced? But not in a way that feels good - more that there's some really awful elements for survivors and really awful elements for killers. The majority of the map is a high visibility deadzone with a couple of average pallets scattered around that, when broken, leave vast swathes of exposed terrain for survivors to die in. Like once those pallets are gone, you've got nothing, not even bits of cover to try and mindgame with. And a lot of the gens are in this no-man's-land. But the houses range from really good to just downright broken with the window loops. Old House of Pain is nothing compared to the one house with 3 first-floor windows and two windows on the same side.

I've been getting the map constantly since the update went live and I still don't really know what to make of it.

  • Don't care if it's same platform, coordinated names, or 4x medkits or toolboxes. But 4 flashlights is either Lightborn or dodge, depending on how I'm feeling. It's less the threat of blinds and more that that survivor group is signaling that they're going to play really aggressively, and obnoxiousness tends to be part and parcel of the package. I don't like having to mass slug people because they won't leave downs alone and I don't like dealing with nonstop clicking.

A lobby of Dwelfs or brightly colored Neas is a dodge for the same reason. I expect attitude issues and that just isn't my idea of fun.

It's not really a customer friendly choice, but it can appear that way to people who feel entitled to access content they weren't there for. It comes across more as prudent, it allows them to make limited new content throughout the year because it's only temporarily gated in the battle pass and then becomes new for everyone else a few months later.

I don't really see how "it doesn't ever come back" is consumer friendly. It means that if there's something you want that came out before you got the game/while you were on hiatus/during a time period you did not have enough time to play to reach the top tiers of the rift, and it was released through a limited fashion, you're SOL. Doesn't matter how much you're willing to pay for it, it's just not happening. I do understand why that model's appealing to existing players, because it is cool to have limited edition stuff to show off, but it's not welcoming to a continued audience. From the standpoint of a game that has no economy and only sells directly to the consumer, there's really no reason to gate such content when people are willing to shell out to own it.

So... consumer unfriendly? It's not like you're forced to buy anything you don't want. Meanwhile, the rift has downright fantastic value in and of itself - every skin in every rift is free after a one-time down payment of $10, provided you make it to tier 70 each time. Missing out on a rift just means you miss out on the value, not necessarily the content. (The charms seem to be exclusive, but admittedly, very few people are interested in charms.)

As it stands, I don't see how anyone loses out with the current lay of things except for the players who want to own exclusive cosmetics - which are already a thing through seasonal events and the occasional code.

How do you even begin to think that this is toxic. That's like saying flashlight blinds are toxic. But yes making it so they can't macro it as fast (not the 0.5 to 1 sec you suggested) might make the game a little bit healthier.

It creates an incredibly obnoxious loud noise that can't be stopped save by removing the macro user from the game. Flashlight blinds serve a tactical purpose, flashlight macros are just to try and grate on other players.

There's no reason for them to exist.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Prices are tied to rarity for sure. We have the opposite happen, too. Where the original outfit is purple, but the recolor is green, so green price.

My feeling is this is just more incentive to participate in the Rift / Battlepass so we aren’t left in predicaments like this.

I am still buying outfits from the first Rift.

Good point about the purples to greens... and then it'll get really confusing when we hit the likes of tomes 8 and 9, where we got a few rift outfits that were recolored mixes of different sets and those sets aren't always the same rarity.

But for stuff like this, or the frozen Trapper and Billy, or scorched Huntress, there's no reason for these outfits to be green rarity and they definitely shouldn't be priced as such when they come into the shop. I really wish they wouldn't slap random rarities on these outfits when they release the rift, because the end result is a shop page with no consistency. If I was a new player walking into this, I wouldn't be able to make any sense of what I was looking at.

I dunno, I'm annoyed here because the line between green and purple is really arbitrary and just depends on how much BHVR wanted to charge for that particular outfit, but recolors of the base outfits are always brown or yellow.

  • I haven't noticed those issues, but I have noticed these:

    -Increased stuttering

-Players progressing to second stage via being left on hook isn't properly showing up on the survivor HUD or killer's hook counters, which is leading to players appearing to die on what should be their second hook

-Using Nemesis and Cenobites' powers can cause them to become unable to function for the rest of the match

-Falling on top of a Hag trap causes uncontrollable spinning and can warp you out of the match

How is that a guaranteed down, isnt he still an m1 killer therefore easy to dunk on while on chase?

If you're 99ing properly, you're popping it when you're right on someone's back anyway, and you're not doing it when the survivor is right next to a pallet. The movement speed in this case negates the brief loss of momentum from stalking.

Anyway, Ghostface has some addons that actually help him now, which is better than before - it was less recharge time or nothing. Stuff like movement speed while stalking is still utterly useless, and there's some new ones like -8 TR while crouching (as if you're crouching when you're not stealthed) that aren't any good, but he's got some very helpful ones. Haven't personally played him much on account of the awful music, but Philly and Olsen's Address Book are amazing for their cost and rarity, and Olsen's Wallet is fantastic. Some of the pricier ones are really nice too, like GF Caught On Tape and Victim's Detailed Routine.

  • I'm guessing rating reasons, or at least 'able to sell game in other countries' reasons. There's some pretty zero-tolerance policies out there. On a similar note, Legion just lost their Cold Dirt addon with their addon pass, which did not look like and pretty much nobody believed was originally intended to be dirt.

  • Survivors get reset after each trial, so no, not unless you pulled a Benedict and managed to escape the trial system altogether.

    Also: why.

  • We plead for this endlessly, and it always falls on deaf ears. You'd think they'd realize nobody likes the concept of sets, and yet they've been releasing more and more. While I can see why today's Nea Outfit #374 had to be a set, the skirt is much too high, we've had a couple of recent Feng sets where there was no excuse for their linking. Not to mention older stuff like long haired Felix, pig guts Twins, or socialite Yun-Jin.

Also, we've had quite a few dress cosmetics that worked just fine as mixable sets by splitting the dress into a shirt segment and a pants segment. Same with hoods. Obviously not every combination is going to look like it belongs together, but that's just how outfit customization works; I can create much worse fashion disasters mixing ordinary Hag pieces than I can by unlinking Kate's forbidden flower crown.

You clearly haven't read the tomes then, because Wraith, Hillbilly, Huntress, Doctor, Clown, Plague, Spirit, Blight, Trickster, Twins, Meg, Claudette, Nea, Ace, David's first tome, Tapp, Jane, Yui and Yun-jin does not suffer from retcons or character butchering, and that is like over half of the character tomes we have.

While only a few outright butcher the characters (I'd say Nurse, Hag, Jake, and every Legion member who isn't Frank), there's still some stuff that comes off as a little misleading. Like with Trickster and Yun-Jin, it originally seemed like Yun-Jin never had any cause to suspect Trickster until she caught him working overtime and recognized a particular shriek from a missing persons video in the track he was working on (and she'd noticed his musical direction was becoming more bizarre and edgy with time.) With everything the tome lore added, Yun-Jin would have to be a massive idiot not to suspect Trickster by that point in the story, because it adds a murder several years ago where the suspect was filmed wearing very specific high-end brand headphones that only he and a few other people could have, another murder where Trickster was the last person seen with the victim and had scratches afterwards, a recording device full of tortured screaming (not screams hidden within music, just screams), knife-care tools that he had no reason to bring with him on a business trip, the dude constantly lying about where he's going and dodging his security detail, and the whole main-story fiasco with the guy Trickster tried to kill and then flipped to pin the murders on (which should have failed on its own, as a ruse, because Trickster didn't stop killing afterwards.) Beforehand, it felt like Yun-Jin was riding the line between plausible deniability and willful disbelief, not wanting to believe something so horrible could be true because surely she was mistaken, the notion of Ji-Woon being a murderer is crazy. It's not heroic, but it's a very human sort of thing to want to believe you were wrong about something so potentially terrible. After the tome, it comes off way more like Yun-Jin knew the Trickster was a murderer and just kept her mouth shut.

That kind of thing happens even when the tome lore seems solid; it's not a total break from the established lore, but it does change how the character is interpreted. I'd argue Plague changed a little as well, because we didn't know her for the type of person that performed routine human sacrifice. Previously she was said to be a servant who came to perform rites as a priestess when the plague struck Akkad and she seemed pretty hell-bent on saving her people, no matter what personal sacrifice. She's still pretty benevolent, her motives didn't get warped nearly as hard as Nurse's did, but the bit about her willingness to sacrifice others for the greater good pre-Entity was new. And we don't know how the Twins tome will end, but previously Charlotte seemed to understand Victor had died after she escaped, and right now she seems pretty deep in denial. Plus there was nothing mentioned about taking a ship out to Canada - again, don't know if the tome will see that voyage end in failure, but I thought it was pretty implied that she died in France. She never had a reprieve from the witch hunters.

  • Was the survivor a Tapp, by any chance? Yesterday I encountered a console Nemesis on Swamp that got hit with this bug and could only slide around by inches. Getting pallet stunned or picking up a survivor didn't fix the issue.

  • I don't care much for the alternate universe type side stories, but I care about the character lore and I get annoyed or sad when something in the tomes contradicts the previous stories (such as the Nurse or Legion, where their initial lore painted them as much more sympathetic and a bunch of dumb kids in over their heads respectively, and the tomes gave them much darker motives slash open psychopathy - or Hag, whose tome lore focuses mostly on her friend and seems to paint her as living in a generic modern day society, when her original lore had her living in a tribal backwater, and was a setting where a society of evil swamp cannibals made way more sense.) Meanwhile, I really like when characters get really solid tome lore that brings depth to the character while staying true to the core of who they were presented as, like Wraith, Billy, and Trapper, and I'm beyond thrilled when we get licensed tome lore.

    It sure is.

You're not expecting to get these done in a single game are you? They're CHALLENGES.

No, but having to try 50+ games to find a match where only one gen pops that you weren't personally there to complete is pretty absurd. Way too many things are outside of your control for that to be a fair or worthwhile challenge. Like, the only way to actually try to get that on your own is to relentlessly run the killer into your teammates, hope the killer bites, and then try to complete their gens while the killer chases them. And that's a horrible design for a challenge. I only got Dark Senses because I ended up in a lobby full of potatoes, everyone was hiding, and the killer was bad enough that I actually had room to complete 4 gens on my own. That's not normal gameplay.

Other challenges like survive while other survivors leave the trial aren't nearly as bad, but still shouldn't be challenges because they focus entirely on what other players are doing and aren't things you can influence. Not a fan of things like escaping through hatch with a key or saving survivors who've saved you because the opportunity to complete them is specific on what other players do, and it's incredibly common to get denied by your own team.

There's this really cool thing called SWFing for very specific challenges 🤷

Can you honostly say you have NO friends on your list that play DBD ? Never attempted to make any...?

Some people might not want to or are simply too new to have made any yet. The point is that you should be able to play the game solo; challenges that require a level of coordination that you don't have in the base game is bad design.

Granted, stuff like Dark Senses is still possible in true solo... it just takes 50 games or a lot of sandbagging for the stars to align. Which is, again, really bad design. There's a ton of challenges that set players to compete against each other, or to waste time and resources trying to make something happen, and the only time where it isn't awful for a team game is when you have the opportunity to communicate directly.

You kidding? Freddy's in a horrible spot. He's pretty weak, has maybe one addon that does anything, and loses his power progressively as the match goes on, to the point where he meets the endgame as a severely watered-down Clown. Losing the ability to be notified when a survivor touches a gate is a big deal, especially when other killers can still do this just fine.

This. Map offerings are generally really unhealthy and almost always used to set up an advantage tailored for their team (see: the 4-stack that sends you to Badham, the Nurse who sends you to Midwich, or the sabo squad that sends you to RPD), but spooky Myers is unplayable on a non-indoor map and I'd hate to see him die. He's one of the few genuinely scary things in this game.

...now that I think about it, I'd be okay with really broad map offerings. Like something for a dark map, something for a bright map, something for an outdoor map, something for an indoor map. That way, you can set up certain parameters to work with (so your Blendette and your Ghostface don't end up on Eyrie, or your Huntress is guaranteed an outdoor map), but you can't surgically pick out the most advantageous map for you.

Or we could have balanced map design, but I can recognize a pipe dream when I see it.

  • Generally, the way to deal with survivors clustering for save attempts is to mass slug them. Bait out the hook swarmers before the pickup (check around nearby structures, they'll be lurking close by), or if they only appear at the pickup, drop the slug and start beating on them. Much tougher to do this with CoH, as survivors always have the option of retreating and healing up, but that means you generally want to emphasize injuring the swarmers before you pick up the slug. What you shouldn't do is try to hit survivors running around you while you're carrying a survivor - it's way too easy to miss and you're just giving the carried guy time to wiggle off. Whack if they're blocking the hook and then step through them when they lose collision, otherwise ignore and focus on the hook.

That said, it's not the survivors' place to tell you the proper way to counter their strategy. If camping worked, camping worked. And if you got a 3k? I think camping worked. They don't really have the right to complain about how the other side plays when their own strategy is annoying to face, you know?

I personally don't sit around making up things in my head about a video game to worry about, but that's just me.

This. No point worrying when we don't know what's on the table. If they'd announced something like "Dead Hard/NOED rework, FNAF chapter, doubleplus boon totems", there'd be plenty of grounds for speculation and concern, but you can't really extrapolate anything from radio silence.

  • Twins are next, but beyond that? Freddy needs another overhaul, because his last one was terrible. The end result is quite probably the most forgettable killer in DBD. Nothing about him feels like playing Freddy Kreuger, his addons are unanimously useless, and his kit is just an underwhelming mishmash of things that other killers do a much better job of. For a time, he was boring but strong; now he's just boring period. I suspect they don't want to touch him anymore, but ugh, he needs it. It drives me crazy because there's so many cool immersive things they could do with the Dream World that they just... didn't.

Pig and Myers are probably next up on that list. Pig suffers from a bad chasing power, clunky and slow stealth that hinders its usage, and heavy reliance on RNG, and some elements of these need to be tweaked in her favor. And Myers just got power crept from when he was released; he fares badly with the current speed of games and just generally doesn't have anything to help him catch people. That said, his kit is the opposite of Freddy's; he feels incredibly faithful to Halloween and I really wouldn't want him to lose that. Myers is one of my favorite killers to face because he creates genuinely spooky games... when he doesn't get looped for seven years and gets his first down at one gen left.

  • I'm unsure about most of this (did a double take at the Legion with Blood Bond deal), but I might be able to clarify one part of this? If you change your display name shortly before a match, it won't always update in time for the match HUD, which carries on to the character listings in the endgame screen, but it will change in the endgame chat. I've done it before where I was simultaneously Laluzi and Jill Sandwich. Did you check the profiles?

Then again, it might just be a part of the general fudgery that's going on here.

I don't think I'm misremembering it. I did a search just now for example and can't find examples of people asking for Wraith's lunge to be reduced.

Also I never said he needs buffs so I'm not sure why you even said that?

People weren't calling for his lunge to be nerfed, but they were complaining that he needed to be nerfed. I remember plenty of Wraith hate threads. The main complaint was prenerfed All-Seeing Blood (which got nerfed) and Coxcombed Clapper (which didn't), but the reason people were playing/getting wrecked by Wraith was because he had an antilooping tool before his lunge got nerfed and now he plays like Wraith always did, just better at map traversal and countering hold-W.

Announcing things that are then never mentioned again seems to be par for the course. I was surprised when boons actually did become reality.

Kind of a pity that was the one they chose to go through with. :P Would have much rather had a mori rework. Or Funko Pops.

  • Luck offerings, fog offerings, and individual category bloodpoint offerings are all pointless. Also what others have said about shrouds of separation/binding benefitting the wrong side. Scratched/cut coins are also pretty unattractive for killers, as chests are a diversion for the survivor objective and there's only a few circumstances where you wouldn't want survivors rooting around in chests (the old bug where everyone was getting Plunderer's Instinct level items and keys were everywhere, maybe if you're Hag and you're allergic to the idea of a flashlight.)

It's a shame, because I feel like without these things, we'd be pretty low on offerings. I like the concept of variety - it's just that there really aren't an awful lot of offerings that are ever worth using.

I wouldn't be opposed to keeping Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips and Murky/Clear Reagent and then nuking every other fog and luck offering - that way, their occasional users can still access them, but their less effective variants aren't around to cause clutter. The individual bloodpoint category offerings could be fixed by just fixing the price/reward ratio, though I do like the earlier suggestion of making them apply to the team.
