If it had been implemented out of the blue, yes that would be a reasonable assumption. Considering that this system uses your current MMR which is directly based on collective 3 months of collected data on your performance in each game, It starts to not make as much sense anymore
Well it can't be perfect and if it isn't even close it'll adjust to where you're at now.
Personally I'm having far better games.

Make swf's duo only.
Competent survs will still play well in duo, and it gives Killers a chance.
No offense, but . . . not only would it never happen and not only could it never happen.
But it's literally one of the worst ideas I've ever heard outside of " Getting rid of SWF all together. "

I always wonder why the skins are that important to the people cause they do nothing. Well, of corse it's nice when the character you play looks cool but it doesn't give you anything. It would be very interesting if they would change that (as far it is possible). The only skins I really do like are the dark skins on each survivor cause you can hide better - but the rest is nice, but not really need-able, or am I wrong ...?
Cheers, - iCologne -
Why people gotta poop on others for wanting and liking cosmetics? It helps people express their style and personality as that survivor and project " why do I like this character? " it's a big part of fandoms. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it's stupid.
Also skin sales are the major income for the business so they can make the " usable " and " doable " changes to the game and create new stuff you can use.
-
Maybe the percentages are off but, I like this idea.
I've always thought like " damn I'm downed but I have a medkit and this killer is just slugging. If only I could heal myself at a really reduced speed to injured state or something? "
-
Nah. It's not that big a difference. It's definitely nice but you're not usually going to have someone with you on every gen.
and even if you do what is less than 10 seconds difference between 2 people?
-
Given it has just been added isn't it going to take some time for it to level out and do its job?

"When you Prestige a Character. All the lost Items are converted into a Shard value."
I love that idea so much. It helps give actual incentive to prestige. Along with that, increase gained BP by 5% per prestige on that character to help with this massive grind (not to step on your toes, @KweenPlease , I'm still in the grinding process).
Oh you're not stepping on my toes. lmao I love that idea too.

There are multiple objectives in the game. Unless it's just used as a meaningless insult, gen rushing is supposed to mean prioritizing generators over anything else like totems, healing. Doing generators until last second before unhooking could also count for this.
It is a valid strategy and is punished by killers like Deathslinger/Wraith who benefit from not healing or hex perks like Noed/Devour.
Why would you do totems if there are no hexes though? I mean I know some only light when activated but at that rate if there is one you've seen it pop and you can find it within what? 2 minutes or less unless it's the Silent Hill or RPD maps? and people over-use the term then because we get told we Gen Rush in my group and we're highly altruistic lmao
and we do do totems but we've got 2 people who totem hunt at beginning so that's out of the way fast.
-
@TruEternity said:
I don’t believe that to be true. I will say most people misuse the term, but it is possible. Bringing BNP’s and gen speed increasing builds, splitting up and trying to end the game in 3 minutes is definitely a thing. Just doing gens isn’t the problem, it’s when builds increasing gen speeds are brought in a coordinated group that is true “gen rushing”
Other than Prove Thyself there are no REAL gen speed perks. WHICH DOESN'T WORK IF YOU SPLIT UP YOU NEED AT LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON.
Yun Jin's only works once a LARGE amount of people have been hooked and it only really helps by 10% on a gen ONCE EVERYONE HAS ALREADY BEEN HOOKED MULTIPLE TIMES.
and Tap's you have to be hidden in terror radius for 15 seconds for ONE 1% token. So is that really a difference?
You can only call it gen rushing in my book if they all bring brand new parts or a purple toolbox.

Yeah but no. Otz got slaughtered during SBMM as did many big streamers. They didn't seem to enjoy it either and given that DBD streaming is the bulk of their income (whether directly or indirectly) they didn't have a choice. When I decide to play killer I tend to lean toward the lower-tier characters like Ghostface and Trapper. My win rates with these killers are well above 70% (by my definition 3k+) but during SBMM these killers are unplayable. So that weekend was a survivor weekend for me and every game was gen rush, gens before friends, loop abuse - in and out ASAP. This also was not fun.
The game was simply soulless while SBMM was active due to how fundamentally flawed the killer side is.
Before BHVR implements SBMM, they need to set some sort of standardized criteria for all the maps and treat each killer/killer category individually and review data within appropriate parameters. By killer category I mean M1/M2 reliance or ranged/stealth etc. This 1 or 2 foundational framework is holding killer back in 2016. Simple things like increasing base vault speeds on M1 killers is a step in the right direction.
Honestly what is " Loop abuse " ? You mean their only defense to keep the game going? They can't fight back. The only other option is for you to just not find them. Would you rather have a game where you find no one and walk around aimlessly while gens pop and doors open?
and gen rushing is honestly such a stupid concept. It's really the only and the main objective for survivor. LITERALLY the job is " Do gens as fast and as much as you can before killer chases you off of it. You've got limited chances. " ---- Gen rushing isn't a thing, it's the priority. It's the objective. You're not applying gen pressure.
Are survivors supposed to just walk around and not do anything every few minutes?

It's one of those perks you want to buff but doing so is kind of unnecessary because it is a powerful effect. Better to buff lesser used perks instead.
IS it a powerful effect? Because you really shouldn't use it unless you're in a situation because you're A hurting your team's altruism. B, you're putting yourself in danger longer because you can't heal or be healed and have no endurance. C It's only saving 10-15 seconds by unhooking yourself compared to a more team friendly perk.
I just think the broken status needs removed. YOU CAN ONLY use it ONCE in a MATCH.
-
@Kira4Evr said:
I mean. Deliverance is actually really strong. Altho, the strength of Deliverance lies in SWF and not in SoloQ. And I can agree that it's situational, but only in SoloQ. So no, Deliverance does not need a buff.
Even just making it to where you don't get the broken status? that's all I'm asking for.
Because honestly if you have even a decent SWF they'll come get you fast. Like it takes no time to get a save really.
The only time Deliverance is good is if you have poop people in Solo or if someone is camping ( but semi-proxying in a close-close to medium distance. ) and even then since you don't get endurance or anything you can be downed fast if you can't get to something you can run.
I can't think of a situation in which it isn't " too situational "
At least Power Struggle you can buff heavily with FlipFlop.
-
Killers are the only ones nagging about it tbh.
and it's just because they're the killers who don't use skill to win.
They don't pressure gens and get chase and deviousness points. They just want to get a 4k ASAP and will use a " strategy " that the devs frown upon to secure wins when they're not even good and get rewarded for it.

So players that play with Stretch Res. Abusing this by looking over the loop. making mindgames unmindgameable is fun for the killer right?
Cause i'm sorry but. SBMM will hurt this game. I'll see alot more blights / nurses / spirits with Ruin / undying / noed / corrupt...
1) never knew this was a thing.
2) That is evidently already something that has been happening if you know about it.
-
AGREED. I only see killers complaining honestly. Like I'm sorry, YOU'RE GOOD. So you should go against GOOD players who play LIKE YOU DO. So if you don't want to go against survivors who play like you do, DON'T PLAY HOW YOU DO.
They just want to be good and get players who shouldn't be going against them. I'm sorry but my rank 8-15 friends shouldn't be going against you as a red rank!
-
Sorry but, the priority is making the game fun for the masses and not everyone is a top tier rank 1 or even a poop rank 1.
The MAJORITY of people ENJOY SBMM. I'm sorry it sucks for you, not even being sly or mean or snarky.
but it's their job to make sure the game is fun for people and most people enjoy SBMM better.
-
I knooooow. I want shards too. Or give us a cosmetic to like strive for y'know? One that won't be in shop til next year or something.
I don't NEED blood points really anymore? All I'm going to do is get some perks on like 2 characters I occasionally-ish play and then pour them all into Kate for items?
HOW TO FIX THIS THOUGH is to allow us to exchange blood points for shards.
We can exchange shards for teachables, shards for blood points, shards for cosmetics.
Why not blood points for shards? IT COULD BE A SMALL AMOUNT.
-
I'd love it but I bet it'd for one be glitchy AF and two people would misuse / abuse it.
-
I'd say Feng or Claudette. Nea gets nice ones but they're not my style.
Claudette has a lot of mix-match possibilities and Feng has AMAZING singular pieces that are a real statement that aren't hard to mixmatch.
Honestly I'm SHOCKED people are saying Kate for cosmetics since . . . she has 5 of the same head. 4 in diff colors and then one is the same blonde with a hat. Plus she gets these claymation Sims 2 looking Ponytails and then the rest of her hair is impossible to put with anything other than what it came with? Her selection really doesn't mix well and she is my main and fave.
Out of the killers? Might be too early to say Trickster but I really like his stuff so far. Trickster or Nurse.
-
An actress from the 1930's - 60's. An actress who wants to make it or did. Very elegant and sensual, glamorous. A potential femme fatale?
PERKS:
Starring Role : Everytime a gen pops, you gain a token. WHILE IN CHASE you can vault 15-25-35% faster.
METHOD ACTING: Pretending you're in danger when you're not and giving into realistic reactions may seem crazy at times, but it has prepared you. In the killer's terror radius you gain 10-12-14% to your gen / healing / totem breaking speed. ( Not to the finishing of them but to the character's base speed for it. Since you're likely to be chased off of it FAST when the killer is close enough for terror radius I don't think this is OP because it won't last long at all. )
Ventriloquism / Projection: Earn totems for being in the killer's terror radius. Every 10/12/15 seconds earns a token up to 3 tokens. For every token your character's cries and breathing will sound further away the closer they get and louder the further they get within a range of ___ feet.

I would say just change how totems are in general. The changes j would make is.
to give more bloodpoints to the survivors when they cleanse the totems and lower the time it takes to do totems by 2 seconds or possibly add a skillcheck to them.
Also make them A bit harder to find so that people would have a reason to take totem hunting perks.
Also for hex totems I say just give the killer the ability to put down hex totems to the location they want or make hex totems come back after an extremely long cooldown (maybe like 3 or 4 minutes)
I would also like there to be an addon the increase or decrease the number of totems that can spawn in a match.
No-no-no. If you guys could plant totems again after they've already been broken that'd nearly defeat the purpose of finding them and breaking them. Because if they got to choose where the totem goes and it not go in specific totem spawning locations ontop of that? It'd be a freaking nightmare.
You guys would just be like " Oh remember how you broke every totem early on to prevent NOED? Well it has been 3 minutes. Enjoy. "
-
Yes, would like very much.

@Seraphor said:
That would be 100% better than, and completely invalidate, Flip-Flop.
I'd prefer: Gain a token each time you stun the killer up to a maximum of 5. Wiggle requirement to activate Power Struggle is reduced by 5% per token. All tokens are consumed upon activation of Power Struggle. (although the stun from Power Struggle itself would give you 1 token back)
You can then still run Flip Flop alongside it.
This, I like.
-
Because everyone freaking knows that the map is small AF. It's not a lie. If it is smaller, it's structured in a way that makes it feel a LOT smaller.
No other map can I run gen to gen that fast. No other map can I see where every other gen is on that level.
-
Maybe wait to see what they are and how they work first

First off, I'm a dude.
Secondly, since I actually know some of the people who update the wiki, I do know that they have double-checked map sizes of all maps that got a graphic rework or any other rework in previous patches. And unlike you, they don't check by timing one's running, that's an imprecise way to measure that stuff, with how the maps are laid out. What they do is measure the outer wall segments, which have a known length, and calculate the area from that, which is precise.
Give it up, seriously. You're so wrong and so adamant about it, that it's starting to look like a desperate attempt on your part of not wanting to lose face.
First off, everyone is " girl " for me. My dad was girl, my best friend is girl, the pope could be girl, my male dog is girl. If you were a police officer pulling me over, you would indeed be girl. It has nothing to do with gender. If you're offended or don't like it, don't talk to me?
I mean if you don't have access to the statistics taken by their X x Y size, the most accurate you can get is the seconds it takes to run the four corners. Which while it won't give you the numbers is PRECISE in regards to giving you the answer of which maps are bigger versus which are smaller. Given none of them really have obstacles along the walls edges except for swamp. So no, you're not exactly making a point.
and everyone claims to know someone on the team for every game to get some low form of "no one cares about" clout.
and I've not known of ANY game to after EVERY rework go on the wiki and list the size changes for every map, every rework update with comparisons of the old sizing, statistics, etc. No matter how big the game. Sorry about it. Agree to disagree. You can literally see the ROWS of gens to the next. IF you're on the lower left corner you can see all the way to the shack.
Gens are kinda laid out in rows. You know some gaps will be there but if you cut the map into segments you know 1 will be in the middle . . . there will usually be an empty segment surrounding it . . . and then one on each of the four corners. ( Of course with extras. )
You can spawn on Ormond and C L E A R L Y see the gen you're on and the two in front of it ( or where they'd be. ) you can't do that with any other map due to mist and distance.
-
@Alionis said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2463646#Comment_2463646
You continually claimed that Ormond was the second smallest map in the game, that to me is propagating a lie. If you go to the wiki, which was updated properly, you can see that only 2 maps changed in size with their graphical reworks: one of the Badhams and Azarov's Resting Place, which actually got slightly bigger. None of the Macmillan or Coldwind maps changed in size.
You should stop relying on your personal feelings and stick to facts here.
Girl, you can disagree all you want but it's not a lie. Go ahead and time yourself running the four corners. Go ahead. Then compare it to the other maps.
and the wiki might not be as consistantly updated as you think. They're not going to go in on every update and be like " Oh also btw it was made ___ amount of pixels bigger. "

I am 100% sure that they were not made bigger. Some of them spawn more Deadzones, but thats about it. Especially the Coldwind-Maps were all made smaller when they updated them (not via The Realm Beyond, but when they removed Godwindows).
Dude deadzones still count to the overall size of the map.

I'm fairly sure that the map updates didn't change the sizes of the maps themselves. Also Ormond was updated alongside the other maps. So far 26 maps have had updates. I think somebody would have noticed if the maps had changed sizes.
Maybe it hasn't been brought up but, Coldwind was absolutely smaller. Just for example. Macmillan, definitely smaller.

Why are you propagating lies here? I'm sorry, but Ormond demonstrably did not change in size with its rework. If you trace the layout of its outer walls yourself, you'll see it's still the same size.
I never said it did. OTHER maps have however changed in size.

Ormond has 15 maps that are smaller than it. You can check on the DBD wiki.
No, no it doesn't, Maybe it WAS because it hasn't been updated while all the other maps have? But it has been the smallest map next to the saloon for several and I mean S E V E R A L months. I'd know, I play too much for my own good.
-
I actually had a concept for a fire killer.
It was " Bloody Mary " since the historical figure who got the name was Mary I, Queen of England. AKA Mary Tudor.
She earned the name for burning 300 Protestants at the stake.
I think a female killer with some ghostly phantom-like floating legs in a huge skirt and Edwardian or Elizabethan wig would just be aesthetic goals.

And IMO, as long as you are not Blight, the Map is alright as Killer since the Rework. If you are Blight tho, you will hate everything in life.
It's not an opinion. It's the smallest next to Grave of Glenvale. It just is. It's not something you can argue. The size of it is the proof.

No because then Dead by Daylight and Sweet Home Survive would be too similar.

Ooooh yah I like that style of shoes ^^ that would work lovely with the dress.
If she has a black sash maybe her hair braid could have a black ribbon running through it as well?
I dunno. I think like once I finish it and it's more clean and detailed the earrings might add enough color up top. It's already kinda ornate hair since it's Fringe + curls + crown braid + it's longer than her usual. I like that it can go with all her other stuff being a little simpler. That way I can wear it with her super nice dress or with her Americana top y'know? It won't be too formal for either.

Ya only one entry per person sadly :<
Honestly I would go with the one on the right! Add a dope hair peice (maybe a pin that matches the pattern on the dress?) And add some nice stockings with lace? And then some killer boots! Like poppin red or orange o3o hellll yah!
I dunno. I think Kate has enough boots. Especially for a " Date Night " type look. I'd probably give her some heels but maybe a block heel so it's not too unreasonable to run in. I've also been like " Hmm " on what to add to the hair because I don't want it to restrict pairing options. I need to clean up the hair but there is like a crown braid. There is going to be a little black sash though to belt the dress.
-
They'd probably charge waaaaay too much for the attachment to The Conjuring given it's the most $$$ of any horror series. Like they sold a LOOOOOT despite being kinda mediocre. ( The " A Haunting " and " Paranormal Witness " episodes of The Conjuring 1 and 2 hauntings were better and they've got a low AF budget. )

I mean, you camp survivor when you have some of those things there too.
3 gen + hooked survivor etc.
Sorry, but killer has just no reason to leave that area, when all his objectives are there, only because there is survivor on hook.
it looks I didn't explain it well enough, my bad.
You're adding instances to it that I'm not including that USUALLY are NOT a part of the equation in an attempt to justify.
Sorry but the killer has a reason to leave that area. The reason being to play the game. If you're staring at a hook 80% of the match you're not playing the game. You're taking away others' ability to play the game to rig the game to an unwinnable state forcing an outcome because you can't play the game.
You can proxy and look about and patrol a distance and look at your OTHER objective points ( guarding the gens ) that ISN'T CAMPING ANYMORE.

I think you didn't understand me. I don't have problem with SWF, I enjoy playing against them more than soloQ.
I have problem with soloQ, because they are way weaker than SWF. I would buff soloQ by giving them info that is easy to share for SWF, not nerf SWF.
Camping is valid when:
-all gens are done.
-you have 3-gen in that area.
-there is 99% gen next to it (you can wait for it to regress more).
-there is strong hex next to it.
You just want to camp, when you benefit from it by defending multiple objectives, or it is your only objective remaining.
I agree face-camping from start is annoying, but I don't think it is good strategy.
My problem is that, for me it is maybe like 1 in 20. I have no idea, where other players find all those toxic face-camping tunneling killers. Well, I know how they find tunneling killers... They don't know what tunneling means.
If you say that survivor that was face-camped from start shouldn't lose a pip, then sure. I agree.
But banning killers for it? no
What I mean is almost all killer mains I've seen COMPLAIN endlessly about SWF and how it's toxic and bullying , etc.
If you want to camp a gen, fine. You want to camp a totem? Fine. You want to patrol 3 gens close together? Fine. Those are not camping.
Camping is when you stay within a distance that you can prevent someone from being unhooked. Either by grabbing them when they try to grab the other survivor ( typically face-campers ) or via your longer distance attack or a space you can stalk from to one-shot one or both. ( and those distances aren't very distant. They literally get you before you can get to a loop )
I don't think you know what we mean when we say camp.
-
@Dino7281 said:

Just git gud.
Face-camping is not problem. It usually happens only when all gens are done and I mean, what else should that killer do?
There are situations, where camping is best play that killer can do and this is just crying from survivor mains.
Unless it is Bubba, there are things you can do to save that player.
Camping can be problem for soloQ, but that is issue soloQ vs SWF, not camping.
You people need to pick your freaking argument. Is SWF an issue or not? Because every killer main complains and complains about it because they want an easy win. Which is exactly why they go for the weak link directly off hook, etc.
and no, typically you don't get camped JUST at the end. They will usually FC from the very beginning or once two-three gens get done because they know they can't win otherwise so they know they have to play dirty.
Your argument " camping is sometimes the best play that killer can do " , yet you say " git gud " to survivors? Pot meet kettle, hypocrisy at its finest. EXCEPT SURVIVORS DON'T HAVE A WAY TO MANIPULATE THE GAME THAT WAY.
IF the killer can't get any kills without camping he isn't good at the game. That's just that.
