they have a reason. BNPs, Instaheals, Instant blinds

    Killers dodge for everything.

    Potential SWF? Dodge
    Flashlight? Dodge
    To many items? Dodge
    Full prestige team? Dodge
    Too many brown claudettes? Dodge
    Legacy clothing? Dippedy Dodge

and survivors dc after being downed once

@FSB75 I can comprehend quite well...what exactly is the point of your post?

There would be no "gen rushing" in the example video you gave if you played better :/ It would have been a short game in YOUR favour.

I'm trying to not be mean or anything, really...explain to me what you want to achieve out of posting this

I'd rather you explain to me how to prevent 5 minutes and 17 seconds for 5 generators. Camp? Tunnel? It takes 2 minutes, full hook duration.

Are you seriously suggesting that you could easily down and hook one survivor every 1 minutes 30 seconds? That's what you are saying? Because that would be the average time....and that's provided that they never get rescued.

1 minute 30 seconds for each survivor...say it, please say that.

What are these numbers? You are driveling. JUST. KILL. THEM.

Idiots who run around kicking gens hoping to slow the game instead of downing one, then another, WITH THE BILLY...will always lose because they are kicking gens. If you want a slower game, take them off gens. When one is down or on the hook others come. You are a BILLY. Put pressure on them.

You are also taking what Skvirl said and twisting things and just making things up.

You didn't need to kick gens. You didn't need to camp. You just need to play better.

This is like you telling me, "I can't drive", taking me to a car and then blaming the car for why we aren't going for a drink.

Get a grip dude. For real.

2 minutes for a camp, that is where he got it from. In an 80 second chase, 3 gens can be completed. It is stupid.

But yea, the gameplay used isnt amazing, many mistakes were made. But overall, the point is there.

In those two minutes, with a Billy, he could have downed others. People would be off gens and or dying and not popping them. It is simple.

The gameplay used is woeful and NOT a state of the game. There is no point there.

    If he didnt camp sure.

Since his intention was to play casually against noobs, that's gonna be harder to do. At least I'm guessing that was his intention, since he hasn't bothered to say anything concrete about it.

Im assuming his intention is along the lines of "look, i can win against low level survivors without using strategies that are viable at high rank, now you can all do this at high rank because i did it at low rank"..

dunno, maybe hell try and correct me

You can no longer depip a level down. So, you pip to 19. Lose a match. You stay at 19, just with 0 pips. The only way is up, literally. To help with this, I do think there should be less levels, and that a reset should happen less often. But that isnt for me to work out.

With this system don't you think there would be many Trash survivors at Rank 1? I mean you can only gain Pips, not to lose them, as a result in no time everyone will be at Rank 1

you can lose pips. you cant lose ranks. you still actually have to do well enough to pip

  • @Someissues said:
No, you can't force people to fight SWF, people stay at Rank 20s because the game is still unbalanced around loops

Clearly not long enough if you don't know boosted players don't belong in the rank they're boosted to, by definition.

The rank system also wasn't created for boosted players to stay at high ranks and ruin everyone else's game, yet for some reason you're OK with that abuse that your suggestion would create.

The only person being "abused" is the boosted survivor. If they choose to boost themselves thats on them

And everyone else who happens to get into their trial. Killers don't like games that are too easy, and Survivors don't like it when one of their teammates puts up about as much of a fight as a toddler vs. an MMA fighter.

Some killers obviously enjoy it, or they would not choose to stay at low ranks. I would love to hear your solution to stop the abuse I am trying to fix?

Which I think is much more of a problem than a foolish survivor who uses an SWF team to boost himself and then sees why he doesnt deserve to be at that rank.

Perhaps there could be a failsafe, three bad solo queue games (say 2 out of 3 are a depip), then they are reduced a levels.

Using player-specific metrics, it should be fairly easy to find a pattern of "rank up->DC multiple games->rank up" (i.e.: someone deranking to abuse noobs). Then it's a simple matter of liberally applying the banhammer.

And when people just stop DCing and start doing intentionally bad?

Being boosted doesn't work like that. You don't learn by having other people do everything for you. You learn by observing what they're doing and understanding why they do it. Boosted players do not belong in the ranks they reach.

People shouldn't abuse exploits either, but they do.

They have the chance to observe whilst playing with them. And if they are friends, they can always ask for help to improve.

Doesnt mean we should work on finding ways to discouraging that abuse.

They won't learn, and they won't ask. How long have you been playing multiplayer games with ranks?

Yeah, it does. All abuses should be discouraged or outright stopped.

Too long. I learnt DBD with an SWF team I met in a discord group, who were way better than me. I was probably ranks ahead of what I should have been, but I think I learnt the game much faster as a survivor.

An abuse is people camping at low levels to be toxic or to play easy mode. That isnt what the rank system was created for.

With the performance hit that ps4 has taken sense patch we probably want them to delay the DLC as long a they can! ;)

So you noticed the 3-5 FPS lower too then?

It dipped down to like 10 fps at some points for me (on pro). Even as survivor I was getting 3-10 FPS drops.

But that means you still get a good 140 fps right?

  • @Orion said:
But this also creates a problem. SWF boosting is extremely common. If the boosted player decides to go solo in high ranks, they're ruining the game for everyone else.

If hes playing with people who are highly skilled, then I see no reason why he wouldn't learn the game even faster than the average survivor.

People should never be using other survivors to intentionally boost themselves to high ranks anyway. That isn't what the system was intended for.

  • @Orion said:
I don't get it. How would this help?

It wouldnt do anything directly. It wouldnt do much short term. It would force people to play with people that can challenge them at the game, or not at all. Rather than being toxic at low ranks and discouraging people from playing the game.

I think people who are then made to climb in this way will also just naturally improve at the game, as they arent just kept at low levels where they have no reason to learn new ways of doing things because they earn enough to keep going.

  • They should add a mechanic to allow survivors to engage in a fist fight, the winner is allowed to move past. The loser is instantly killed.

  • Thus encouraging other survivors who are not trapped to not do generators which will slow the game down.

This is already the mechanic, it doesn't stop survivors doing generators because they know how easy it is to get them off at the moment.

I also think you approached the RNG the wrong way. Rather than making the last one the correct one, make it so that the first one can never be the right one. I feel like that would be better IMO.

  • Also, buying with money will unlock you exclusive skins (eventually, when they are added) as an added bonus to using real money.

This doesnt apply for licensed obviously

  • @mintchapstick said:
This doesn't A LOT of factors of the game, though. Like travel distance between starting point & generator, time spent creeping away from gens when the killer comes too close, time spent trying to organize your team without (and sometimes with, even) communication. It also boils a chase down to just numbers, which isn't an exact science.

Basically you're running numbers and ONLY numbers, and forgetting that survivors are people and not machines who are very, very rarely, going to follow this formula.

You're right, it also doesn't take into account that they could have DS. Or that they could get flashlight saved. Oh, and they ONLY used 3 pallets. And didn't use the killer shack pallet because they messed up in my scenario. what if they didn't?

Oh, and yes, at high ranks, survivors will follow that formula, and they will be less likely to creep away from a Gen when they can clearly see the killer is occupied.

ALSO, I did forget it can take less than 80 seconds, maybe one has a brown toolbox with addons, marginally faster. Maybe another hits all great skill checks, thats even faster.

I 100% guarantee you, anything I missed on the survivors side of things, can be made up for again.

Great idea! I find the next survivor and he also loops me for 2 minutes.
Then i switch targed for the third time, ignoring the other 2 loopers and ohh no, he also loops...
Maybe i´m more lucky with the last survi... ohh gates are powered and they escaped.
    "gg ez"

I mean that definitely sounds frustrating but at the same time, maybe you just have to get better? I'm not trying to 'git gud' you, because that's stupid and obnoxious, but if your strategy isn't working maybe it's time to try another strategy instead of waiting for the game to change. Lots of people reach rank 1 as a killer the way it is right now.

There should be no such thing as a "throwaway" game, on the side of something that is meant to be the one in control.

I also CHALLENGE you to suggest a better strategy than not respecting the pallet and taking enduring/brutal strength, to help me catch high rank survivors.

It’s it just about I mean this game has been 4v1 this entire time so with that many people have formed their friend group that they play with consistently. Now if they made it a 3v1 people will have to cut someone out of the group in order to play so they’ll need to make a decision. Either they’ll cut someone or they’ll just stick with their friends and go play something else. Not saying it’s a bad idea or anything just that this is something that needs to be thought about when doing something like this

    I agree.

But yeah, DCing survivors are a lot bigger problem compared to killer Dcs

1 minute 20 seconds*, thats the time it takes to complete a gen.

Not to forget that is a HUGE timewaster. What if the next survivor you find is also able to evade?

The event starts on the 5th by the timezone they're prioritizing. For people who start on the 6th, will finish on the 10th. Its still the same amount of time.

Well, partially wrong. They have always given the starting times for the UTC/GMT time zone, because this is the central time zone, so actually saying the event starts on the 5th was wrong, because that would have been 16 hours ago. The event is now starting on the 6th midnight UTC/GMT, which is actually the 5th for the entirety of America.
On the original posts however, for the first time they did not actually give a specific time, just a date, so they caused a hell of a lot of confusion. American time zones are not a priority, UTC/GMT is.

Oh yes, I am aware they changed how the timezone they have prioritized for this, maybe its because it ties in with the PS4 update. Nonetheless, we still all get the same amount of time to play in the Bloodhunt.
