  • She can lock down mutliple gens at once and her drones do everything. I have escaped one Skull Merchant.

  • Solo Survivor. Solo Q is worse than any killer. I have played 2 games so far today. 1st game I was camped out by Huntress. Second Game I was tunneled and camped out by Trapper. The first game my team ran over like they were going to try to unhook me but were too scared to take a hit. It was a huntress... I have no idea what they were afraid of. Solo Q sucks. I see killers complaining all the time and I'm like the amount of 4Ks I see because the killer slugs the last person because they are sooooo terrified someone might get the hatch.

  • Myers doesn't scare me even if he tries to jumpscare. None of the killers are scary at this point. I worry more about being tunneled or camped than a jump scare... which doesn't jump scare me at all.

    1. I disagree, you use an example with restricked play, to claim the killer is OP.
    2. You need to play more killer then, i defo have had some really strong 3 gens with both Doc, Nemisis, Freddy, Dredge where the survivors could do nothing.
    3. You also dont constantly meet SM do you? There are specific map spawns that make it impossibe for the killer to get a hook, if the survivors run to the right place. (not corners, but corners work on most maps)

As a solo Q survivor I haven't seen survivors run to no hook spots in months.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

When i was killer, I have had the same experience with survivors, where they didnt do gens. and the match took more then 40 minutes. This just shows that there are fools on both sides of the fence.

I mean if the survivors are competent and you're holding a 3 gen they'll wait until you stop. You make it so we dont have a chance to win... well now you can't either. Stop expecting survivors to help you win.

Some games you don't have any "weak" loopers. And in that case you're screwed. Even mediocre loopers who played the game for awhile can be a problem because they know the basics and what's safe and not safe, god pallets, predropping, and they can cause problems as well. So not everyone has to be a god looper to cause a big issue. The sad reality is you need 1 or 2 weak links on the team or its gonna be a bad time. Drop chase? And then what if they next person you find is good to, this can repeat and it's GG.

As someone who only does solo Q I can assure you most of my games are full of people who can't loop for more than 5 seconds.

This is exactly what I am talking about that doesn't get enough attention. The gens shouldn't be close enough that you can lock down 2 more gens with 1 drone. Thank you for posting this.

No Problem. Yeah some of these maps have massive gen placement issues. The Skull Merchant is still very strong despite gen placement though. There are maps that don't have this problem and she will still dominate.

You basically said exactly what I was trying to say, just better.

Not to mention if we do hack a drone and she chases us we auto break any pallet we vault so we can't run away from her either. Her drones shouldn't reset if we get too close. When they are done they are done. The trap shouldn't break pallets. She shouldn't be able to reset the drones from anywhere either.

  • Stop slugging to win. Stop it. Make them auto pick up if they down you or soemthing and they can't be dropped.

You're not wrong. Yeah...although having a newborn also makes it difficult to have energy/motivation to work out. Definitely something I plan to incorporate more after the bet though

Get a good stroller and take them with you assuming its not super hot where you live! I have 2 Siberian Huskies and while they aren't a newborn they definitely help me stay active by taking them on walks.

  • @RoastedGarlic said:

I stated this in another thread but as someone who plays the skull merchant and doesn't use her drones on generators. I'm tired of hearing the need for her to be reworked. Skull merchant does not need a rework.

GENERATOR PLACEMENT requires a rework. Gens just spawn way to close as is, you can get not just 3 genned but 4 genned. It can be absolutely stupid how badly the rng can screw a game from the start.

Honestly a change that should happen would be to make it so when 3 gens are repaired 2 break down again adding them back to the repair pool so there is 5 gens that can be worked on instead of only 3. Doing this would remove 3 gen entirely. Killers shouldn't have an easy patrol path.

How's this for Gen Placement? She covered 3 gens with 2 drones. Was 4 until we got the one near shack done. No way we could escape this match.

she isn't dull, however most of the people that use her don't know how to use her properly. When used right she is absolutely a blast to chase survivors with.

again she isn't the problem, 3 genning is. A lot of killers can do it, she just happens to be the best. To solve the problem you don't change every killer than can 3 gen. You change 3 genning. Work smarter not harder.

This is from my stream a few minutes ago. I ended up being held hostage by this particular skull merchant because once again killers lose their minds if someone gets the hatch. David DCd and she hooked Leon right before he bled out then came to find me. Either way this clip serves to prove your point that gen placement is a huge issue. This Skull Merchant was able to defend 3 gens with just TWO drones.

Because I wasn't. The new map, garden of 'pain', is the worst map I could think of. The bushes and hitboxes ruins most of the killer roster. Props blocking loops. The huge building with god windows and a million safe pallets next to the shack.

Then you have Dredge which is rated average by the community. Not many likes him and I barely see a dredge so that's that, and then you have Haddie Kaur. Enough said, right? Oh wait the perks. lmao only Darkness Revealed is good but the rest are trash especially haddie kaur's perks.

But then check this out. What if the 7th anniversary is an original chapter? Now, a lot of people were disappointed with the past original chapters namely Tools of Torment (Skull Merchant) and Forged in Fog (Knight). Would I be excited if the 7th anniversary is a original chapter?

    No.

I'm excited for the BP offerings. I'm gonna load them all on my favorite survivors/killers. I only plan to put BP into them this time instead of leveling killers/survivors I never play.

  • You can eat what you want if you work it off. Go for a run and it'll burn right off!

  • Now you can finally play the game.

    -Eric Cartman

  • I had a wraith the other day who didn't tunnel or camp and got a 4K. He earned it too. It was a fun game too even though I died. He hooked every survivor once without ever returning to a hook to chase the unhooking survivor. He systematically chased and hooked each one of us without tunneling once. He did it again once we had all been hooked the first time. Wraith is a strong killer so I don't understand why people need to camp or tunnel. IMO, people who camp or tunnel are bad at killer and refuse to take the time to get better by not camping/tunneling. I also see a lot of killers going back to the hook to go after the guy who just unhooked which is just as bad imo. Don't killers get more points for more hooks/chases/hits and all that? Maybe BHVR needs to get rid of the "rank" system altogether and just give BP based on how many games you played that month. They should be able to see the average amount of games it takes the average survivor/killer to get to Iri 1 and just make that number the amount of games to get 1M BP each month.

This. If you play her as a chase killer against competent players, you will lose almost every time barring some horrible misplays from the survivors. She is not good except for holding 3-gens

That's all I see her do though. Out of all the SM's I've gone against I have escaped only one. The rest of them 3 genned or held hostage until they got their precious 4k. If X amount of survivors are dead and no gen has progressed/hooks been hooked for X amount of time the game should just end.

  • @Pulsar said:

Would anyone like to guess how many of them held a 3-gen?

Would anyone else like to guess how long the games were?

I think I figured out why some people enjoy playing her that way. One of them was streaming and had a "Skull Merchant Rage DC counter" on display and when I asked them what it was for they said something along the lines of, "For the ragequitting Survivor mains who throw a tantrum whenever a Killer is winning".

Yeah, just venting, not meant to be taken super seriously. I still think she needs to be completely re-designed. I really should stop playing Survivor as well lmao

I had one that held a 3 gen on Suffocation Pit but then also held us hostage. She downed Leon and I was the 4th survivor on the other side of the map working on a gen. So of course I now know I'm looking for hatch. Except she didn't kill leon. She slugged him for a while but kept going back and picking him up and letting him wiggle off till she found me but she never did find me. Occasionally she would down leon presumably to see if I would come pick him up but I'm not that dumb. She just kept looking for me forever. Anytime she would let leon wiggle off she would walk to the other side of the map to look for me but if I was next to leon I would help leon with the gen. We got 2 more gens done before she FINALLY found me. Every time she would come back I would simply walk away and she would down leon again. Not only is skull merchant being able to force a 3 gen OR drone both gates a problem but killers holding hostage because the world will apparently end if they don't get a 4k is a problem too. I 100% believe we would have spent an hour in that match if she didn't eventually get lucky and see me.

in the post game I told her she was holding hostage and she said I could have done gens. She didn't realize that I was right next to leon doing gens with him. Something needs to happen for survivors if killers refuse to end the game because they don't get their precious 4k.

They don’t have to waste time searching for a boon, it’s just an indicator to tell the killer it’s in the trial so they should be conscious about it. It’s the same as having the hex indicator for survivor, they don’t need to search for the hex depending on what it is. It’s just a little nod to say “hey, this is here.”

And like I said, most times I find a boon, I do not hear it get put up because the noise indicator just doesn’t play for some reason. Hoping to come across something I should know is one thing, coming across it and not being told it was put up is another thing entirely.

Usually when I find a boon, I’m like “oh hey!” But whenever I hear a boon and I don’t remember hearing the loud notification I get a bit pissed cause that’s valuable information I should know cause it reveals 4 potential perks and is one of the 16 perks I have to keep track of in a match

I just always assume there is one somewhere. Just assume its there. If its not nbd.

And what would be the punishment for survivors who repair a generator all the way to 100% without stopping at 50%, finding a new gen to work on, and only coming back some time later to finish the gen?

In all of my solo Q games I have never seen this happen unless you chase me off it.

Because this is the #1 problem in the game and always has been, gen rush. Which in turn causes the #2, #3 issues camping and tunneling. If I lose 3 or 4 gens for 1 hook why the hell would I leave the hook and go for more chases lmao.

I mean this is literally all the survivors are supposed to do. If theyre getting gens done too fast youre chasing good looping survivors too long.

I’ve had more games than I can count on my hands and feet where I never heard the boom effect go off.

It just really sucks to cause you’re minding your own business with the match, then you reach a part of the map you didn’t go to yet and oh! A boon’s there! But you never even heard it get put down. The maps I’ve recognized this the most on was RCPD. But it’s happened on plenty others too.

Plus, it’s just an overall benefit that doesn’t add any real harm by adding it. Just put a little indicator like survivors have to just tell the killer there’s a boon in play. Then they have the option of searching for it or leaving it up. It also helps out hard of hearing players who may not be able to know a boon even gets put down in the first place

yes... please add this so killers waste time searching for a boon lmao. You're better off just chasing survivors and hoping you come across it.

  • Then earn it. The killer almost always finds the hatch first anyway because you can walk freely and survivors cant.

The rest of exhaustion perks are still powerful and good. So killer will not help himself that much. Prove Thyself, Deliverence, Unbreakable for example are more dangerous options. But there is far more than 4 strong survivor perks in the game so I think banning system would not destroy survivors nor killers.

Also having bans will give solid statistics to developers. So they will know what to nerf/buff/rework and what new perks to bring with the next chapter. So in case banning exhaustion perks becomes a meta, then developers will very like add more of those.

They aren't nearly as good as the others. Balanced is rarely useful. Overcome makes your run slightly further... I'm gonna have to disagree with you. They are not strong. No one uses them for a reason.

  • Honestly, I never had a problem with Dead Hard. I think most killers are just impatient.

  • I think this would only work if it were like a perk ban phase. Not what perks you're picking but what perks you most don't want to see. I feel like this would most hurt survivors though because the killer could just ban the 4 strongest exhaustion perks. Imagine if Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Lithe, and Adrenaline were banned every match. Your only options would be Balanced Landing, Overcome, Head On, and Smash Hit. That would massively advantage the killer.

  • @Aurelle said:

It was fine before the change. It's a gimmicky perk that sees little use in a regular match anyway.

I rarely see it but boy do I laugh my ass off when I do. I never run it but I always find it hilarious when someone else gets a blastmine off on a killer.

  • @Wampirita said:

i usually don't give a damn about who brings what item, but sadly key users tend to just hide in corners and letting their teammates die. When not seeing the key user for longer time, i will try to find them. I won't force them out of the game immidiately, but i will remind them to take part in the match. I definitely don't want them as the last standing

I've never seen that happen with all the key using teammates I see. The only time I see people hiding is if there are only 2 survivors left and one of them went down. Then you're playing for hatch anyway. Before that the only time I saw people hiding all game was when I was new to the game so there were a lot of bad players.

Personally, I only bring keys when I have a hatch escape challenge. They're useless otherwise.

  • @AssortedSorting said:

Why can't we make Pallets spawn over the duration of the Trial and reduce the initial amount of them?

But if given the choice I'd choose weaker Window spawns, specifically for the loops with the longest loopable pathways that also interconnect with other Window vault pathways, EG: Haddonfield house.

I mean if there weren't many pallets there would be so many dead zones and killers wouldn't even need to use their powers. They could just chase us and down us.

  • @brenkn said:

If yes, what would you guys change? Personally I would make it 6 instead of 3.

They need to let me choose survivor or killer. It's stupid that I only get killer rituals when I just wanna play survivor. It's a dumb thing that you get the opposite of what you play. If I want to play killer I will. The rituals are always for killers I don't like to play anyway. Why can't I have more say in what the rituals are? They should at the very least be 2 killer and 2 survivor instead of all killer or all survivor.

I hope this is something that eventually gets changed, I think it's like my main issue with her. I don't mind her in chases etc but Skully on layered indoor maps is awful.

Also can we have better movement animations for her so she isn't just sliding across the floor...

I just went against her on Badham. She killed my whole team which was being pretty dumb the whole game. She finds the hatch first then traps both gates. Like there is no counter play to her. She can trap multiple gens, go undetectable in the drones which also blocks aura perks btw, and then trap all the doors. Basically if she kills at least 2 of your teammates and finds the hatch first assuming she doesn't slug there's nothing you can do.

So what's a killer supposed to do in early game, just suffer 2 or 3 gens popping while going for hooks like a good little punching bag?

Don't think so, bub. Your gen-rushing butts are getting controlled before hooking starts.

And cut all this noise trying to talk about "you're bad if you do what beats me," like #########...

Maybe get better at the game instead of blaming us for gen rushing. That's literally the whole point of the game for survivors. If you can down survivors faster we can't gen rush.

  • @TorQueMoD said:

I've been playing since 2016, and I understand that some might see this as a valid strategy, and against a 4 squad, it'll likely only result in a loss for the killer. But, I play mostly solo queue and it just ruins the match when a killer does this. Yes, the added 2 seconds of borrowed time when unhooking is helpful, but then you're just trading downs. There should be some penalty for the killer when they're hook camping. For one, you could easily measure how long they are near a hook and if they're in a certain radius of the hook for X seconds, you should get a penalty to your movement speed, or whatever Behavior comes up with that they think is fair. It's just ridiculous that there's no detriment to this sort of behavior (no pun intended).

Am I wrong in thinking this?

I play as killer all the time, and I always strive to make the experience fun for everyone.

IMO campers/tunnelers are just bad at the game. I went against a wraith the other day who hooked each survivor once then hooked us all again without ever repeating a survivor. That wraith 4Kd. IMO people who camp or tunnel will never get better at the game because they don't take the time to actually try and learn. You're never gonna get better at chasing survivors if you stand in front of a hook all game... and yes i consider leaving and coming right back as soon as that survivor is unhooked camping as well. It doesn't change anything if you walk 50 yards away only to turn around and come back. Personally, when I play killer I prefer that they heal up because thats even LESS time they spend on a gen. Most of the campers I see these days only get one kill at most. Had a camping Trapper about an hour ago and he got one kill. I had a camping nemesis and he got zero kills be cause we were all able to get out of the basement. He even had 2 of us on basement hooks right before the other 2 valiantly pulled us off hooks and we all escaped.

You're never gonna be good at anything if you don't try. Camping is just gonna keep you bad at the game.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

It's not the Sprint Burst that is the issue, it's exploiting the 99ing mechanic.

Thats not an exploit. I swear y'all will blame every perk in the game until theyre all nerfed. Then at least you won't have any excuse for being bad.

  • I went against her on midwich. If she puts a drone on the bottom floor it covers the top floor too.

  • I mean with all the healing nerfs making it so my own medkit decreases if I use it on myself is dumb. I don't even use them anymore and avoid them in the bloodweb because they're useless.

  • Give me vault speed on spine chill again.

  • @brenkn said:

What were the devs thinking making her that fast?

Wait till you go against her on Midwich. Her drones work for both floors. If theres a gen on the bottom floor and one above it she can cover both gens with one drone.

Why now? What's the problem now? You all want to nerf one perk, it gets nerfed, players move on to another perk they find good, and now we are once again screaming for nerfs, will it ever stop? or y'all going to moan for more nerfs untill everything is nerfed?

Then the next perk will be nerfed. Honestly, they just need to look at all of the antihealing perks.

Free base Unbreakable means a Survivor can just keep running to a spot of the map without any hooks nearby without repercussions. So no unless they add more hook spawns

    There are reasons for 4k.

Challenge, adept, they pissed me off...

Maybe you should get better and learn how to deal with slugging and tunneling?

It's not really hard to deal with slugging, just survive in chase longer than 10 seconds so your team can recover.

If you down a survivor and there is another survivor nearby on gen, you better slug and push him off, maybe get hit or another down. That's how you play better, learn how to get some pressure on survivors.

If you regularly get killers who 4k you on twelve hooks, then it says more about you imo.

There is literally no counter play to slugging aside from letting other players bleed out. How do you not understand that? I have to hide for the whole bleed out timer. I can't help that we had a DC or my team sucked. Slugging to deny hatch should be a reportable offense.
