Oh okay, Yes I'm referring to steam thank you.

Yall do realize PS4 is still reluctant to allow crossplay, nothing the devs could do if they wanted to.

@MegaWaffle i can agree with that. I believe blacked out claudette is more p2w than purchasable bloodpoints though

Buying bloodpoints would make it akin to a pay-to-win game. If DBD ever goes down that route I'll probably throw in the towel.I dont think yall understand the difference between pay to win and pay to lessen the grind
This "grind" is directly tied to perks for a multiplayer game so it give you a possible advantage over those who can't pay. If this was a single player game then it would just be a greedy tactic but since its a multiplayer game it would become P2W.
I don't think you understand what P2W truly means.
Pay to win implies that someone who pays has an advantage over someone who doesn't. Which they don't. A person with enough time played has the advantage. Plus most perks don't take long at all to achieve, and you don't need meta build to play well, especially as survivor.
Perks provide a boost to performance and if you can pay to acquire these perks faster in a online multiplayer game then you are implementing a P2W scenario. Saying someone who plays longer has the advantage can be said about any game where you develop skill over time and it does not remove from the fact that you also gain an advantage by skipping that grind by buying these perks.
Every P2W game that offers the ability to buy your way through the grind also offers the opportunity to get these items/perks/etc by playing, however its a ludicrous amount of time needed to get the same footing as someone who payed. Sure these players will have developed a higher skill set because they actually played the game for longer but the people who bought to have the aforementioned payed items are boosted with this advantage prior to developing a strong skill set.
So again you still don't seem to understand what P2W actually entails, even if you believe that buying BP wouldn't be a huge deal because the perks don't seem to offer much in way of an advantage because you have already developed experience I can definitely say a new player without perks would perform far worst than a new player with perks/items.
It takes about 250 hours maximum to get sprint burst, self care, and adrenaline on a character from when you first boot up the game, If you were already an experienced player ( or watched some guides ) you could probably do it in half the time. The grind is a bit heavy right now, it almost made me quit playing when i first started actually. Now I'm about 7-800 hours in I believe. I agree that yes perks don't provide as much of an advantage right now because I am more skilled, and that a new player without those perks would struggle.
Edit: The hours I mentioned are not correct, however I believe those to be the most essential perks for a new player, which two of them are available on meg, So if a new player played meg until they unlocked both adrenaline and sb, and then dumped points into claudy for self care, then got self care on meg, I think that would be possible in a reasonable amount of time for the game to not be pay to win in my opinion. Cod 4 just came out and there is a double xp promotion which allows people to unlock better weapons faster, however it is not pay to win as the grind is reasonable anyways. In the recent battlefront, the grind was unacceptable which made it p2w. There are other games which provide exclusive items to paid players which provide an advantage over non paid players which IS p2w. I dont think that allowing purchasable bloodpoints in the game ( which would mostly be used to prestige out characters for experienced players, and non experienced players would not even be spending the points they bought efficiently or on the good perks) would make the game p2w. It would also create a constant flow of income for the game which could allow them to hire more people to work on the game and improve it faster.
Edit Again: I also believe that having more players have all the perks they want on their characters would make the game easier to balance. -

You are killing someone down there in the basement. It's like extended camping thus not bannable. Except that facecamping was bannable and they changed the game to allow survivors to unhook from all sides. And that isnt camping, its holding the game hostage to me
Facecamping was never bannable, stop lying. as I said "Im pretty sure ive seen a stream where a dev said a killer who repeatedly facecamps (pre unhook change) could be banned." You are not entitled to an unhook just for existing.
You are entitled to the ability to unhook. That is my stance on the argument. The killer can do what they will to prevent you if they wish, but i believe there should at least be a chance as i stated a basement camping leatherface is okay with me, i have a chance to make him run into something/miss/etc and get the save.

Just because you hook someone in the basement doesnt mean you are entitled to killing them.If you waste 120 seconds standing at the stairs, you are.
You just wasted the time of potential 4 gens being done by this time.Lol don't whine about it.
It's a bad strategy.i feel like a scenario where even 3 gens get done in that situation is unlikely

Avoid movement speed if you can. It's not that good.Try to get the ones that increases range (makes it easier to tag survivors), the ones that give less skill checks (keeps survivors in your dreamworld longer) and the ones that make the dream transition shorter (faster to hit the survivors).
For perks, it looks like you got some for an end game build. I would advise dropping Iron Grasp for something like Sloppy Butcher or NOED. Sloppy is good for Freddy because after hitting a survivor it'll take longer to heal when running that perk. It's really good for stalling and for helping against Freddies weaknesses. NOED is just good in general with him, though keep in mind most good players will expect you to have it since you're Freddy and all.
Personally, the perks I usually like with him are:
- Make Your Choice
- HEX:Ruin
- Bitter Murmur
- Brutal Strength
- Spirit Fury
- HEX:Haunting Ground
- HEX:Thrill of the Hunt
- Enduring
- HEX:No One Escapes Death
- Barbecue&Chile
- Knock Out
- Whispers
- Nurses Calling
- Remember Me
- Rancor
- Dying Light
- Bamboozle
- Overcharge (I know, but it's somewhat useful at maintaining a 3 generator strategy with him. Doesn't always work though. You really have to play smart with this perk)
As for add-ons:
- The Blocks
- The Dresses
- The Drawings
- Pill Bottle
- Class photo
I like the way you did this

bodyblocking away from unhooking in the basement is indeed an intended feature, the devs have been pretty clear that its not holding hostage, pls get your facts straight.

I'm legit beginning to question this are killers just camping one or two players because they cant find the other survivors? I've had a hand full of games where I blame my immersed team mates more that the killer just running around the map then coming back to the hook cause he couldn't find anyone. And these team mates are doing nothing, they are just in large grass or lockers, they aren't doing gens or totems or any kind of action that would break immersion. I sandbagged one into a corner until the killer just downed me and the survivor ran into another corner and I continued to see that survivor just crouched in a corner. What is even happening to this game?
I run bbq always, After hooking someone if i dont see anyone on bbq, i go check gens, if no one was on a gen i go back to the survivor and repeat. If this is the behavior you are referring to then yes.

I dont think survivors should be limited to first person, ever. Maybe for a fun game mode, but not by default. Just not being able to see behind them in third person would be enough.

Look at all the developer streams the developer stating it is not. It's a strategy, get over it.
"its strategy" wow how much iq did you need to come up with that "strategy" lmao
How much IQ do you need to pallet loop, to use decisive strike or adrenaline?
That's not a argument, you are just entitled to winning.
I am a killer main bud, when i play survivor i dont use decisive, i dont find it useful, but i do like adrenaline. A win to me as killer is a 4k, but im not going to block survivors at the stairs to get it

You clearly are not the smartest person.
Decisive strike is the most overpowered and useful perk of the entire game.
Your survival chances are raised by ~33% just running this perk lol.But this isn't the topic.
If the killer managed to hook someone in the basement, which is a very difficult task, because on red ranks, people don't die near the basement or just block the entrance with a bunch of survivors when trying to hook survivors there, THEN the killer should be able to defend their [BAD WORD] earned kill.
That's not holding the game hostage, it's just securing a kill.(I don't enjoy this behaviour and would like to see it getting patched, but HOWVER and thats my point, it is not bannable)
I consider myself to be a very bright person, My survivor loadout is typically SB,SC,Adrenaline, and We'll make it. I see much more value in we'll make it than decisive. Also, are you okay? seems like some red rank survivors hurt you lol. It is not that hard to hook someone in the basement lol. Im a rank 1 huntress and I actively avoid camping and tunneling. Im glad you agree that it shouldn't be a thing, but If you read my statements with other people, i said it is not holding the game hostage i just didnt have another term to use, and that i just think it should be bannable. The most overpowered perk in the game is Sprint Burst btw. Although it is kind of opinion based, but i dont really feel comfortable with you saying i have a low intelligence when Im just trying to have a debate. Thanks.

Interesting in theory, but I can see this causing issues against killers like Michael Myers, pig, and wraith. If you had to keep getting off a generator just to check for them, it would feel really clunky.Only Myers is stealthy about catching people on generators, though. Wraith and Pig both have audio cues for canceling stealth (if you want to call it that).
You can pull someone off a gen as pig with no audio cue, better than you could with myers in fact.

Only to you it means holding the game hostage.
To the rest of the people, the killer is just securing the kill and avoiding anyone to save the survivor that is hooked on the basement, the game is not hostage, the hooked survivor will end the game by dying on the hook, while the other 3 can just do the gens and end the game by exiting through gate/hatch----So no one is forced to DC in order to leave the game.
You should think about it, maybe you are wrong or maybe the rest of the world is wrong.

Survivors can still work on gens while Mr. Staircase Blocker does his thing. To hold a game hostage is, for example, trapping the last survivor in a corner where he can not escape from, without hitting him, trying to force him to leave the game. Another example is survivors going all Ninja when the doors and/or hatch are open, trying to force the killer to DC.
Another example is blocking the survivors from having a chance of unhooking someone

Only one person has it. The only really easy change to ds would be that only one person can use it. Everyone who takes DS has to take a 5th perk. The survivors who isn't the obsession (random) will get it replaced with the 5th perk chosen in zhe lobby.
As killer, the non obsession DS user is hurting more then the obsession DS.
Honestly, this would be the easiest and laziest way to balance it and I'm pretty sure that even survivor mains will be okay with that
The problem with this, Is that EVERYONE would run decisive. It would basically be a game mechanic.
What? Hell no, only one will have ds in the match, what are you talking?
Everyone would have DS in their kit. Yes only one person would have it but everyone would have it equipped. Therefore it would be basically a game mechanic where every match one person gets DS.
I don't get the problem, it's equipped, but you can't use it unless ur the obsession. So, what is this argument trying to say?

Did I say scot-free? no but it should be possible.
This is where I disagree. The basement is meant to have real consequences so I am a-okay with killers locking folks down there as long as a timer (like the hook or bleedout timer) is in effect.
Im okay with insidious basement camping leatherfaces because there is a chance of outplay potential, but blocking the stairs (while someone is hooked), alas, there is not, and i think it is/should be bannable.

Buying bloodpoints would make it akin to a pay-to-win game. If DBD ever goes down that route I'll probably throw in the towel.I dont think yall understand the difference between pay to win and pay to lessen the grind

Interesting in theory, but I can see this causing issues against killers like Michael Myers, pig, and wraith. If you had to keep getting off a generator just to check for them, it would feel really clunky.@Peanits said:

There is also premonition, and having more than one person on those gens would combat that, which would buff bond/leader slightly
Edit:myers pig wraith could use a little help lol
Editx2:Could also make it to where you just cant turn around while being chased -

Thats an intended feature.
No, this is the type of body blocking that will result in a ban if reported.
Agreed, blocking the stairway and hitting the survivors is intended, not blocking the survivors from unhooking the person, I do believe that is holding the game hostage. (or something like that)
bodyblocking away from unhooking in the basement is indeed an intended feature, the devs have been pretty clear that its not holding hostage, pls get your facts straight.
Clearly there is a timer runing when the survivor is on the hook
Clearly you don't understand the timer is for the survivors to unhook the survivor on the hook, not for the killer to block the stairs.
You're not entitled to a Scot-free unhook in the basement.
Did I say scot-free? no but it should be possible.

I don't think people realise the only reason -this- game works is because of third person view for the survivors. It wouldn't be very fun for a survivor if they couldn't see where the killer is when they're running in between certain objects, it would make stealth incredible useless, as the only way you can convincingly hide from something is if you can see it.
I wouldn't mind if they tried it, but I really don't think it would make the game better and would in fact make it unfun for the other side.
Yeah i think the survivors need the 3rd person advantage, but not seeing behind them would make them need to play safer.> @PhantomMask20763 said:

I think it could work, just keep the 3rd person view just don't let them look behind them. If they tested it we could all see how it works and you could still stealth it's just that it would be a little more difficult. It could also upgrade the killers mindgame potential around pallets. It would need lots of testing before actually making it into the game though.
This is my thought process as well

Only one person has it. The only really easy change to ds would be that only one person can use it. Everyone who takes DS has to take a 5th perk. The survivors who isn't the obsession (random) will get it replaced with the 5th perk chosen in zhe lobby.
As killer, the non obsession DS user is hurting more then the obsession DS.
Honestly, this would be the easiest and laziest way to balance it and I'm pretty sure that even survivor mains will be okay with thatThe problem with this, Is that EVERYONE would run decisive. It would basically be a game mechanic.
What? Hell no, only one will have ds in the match, what are you talking?
Everyone would have DS in their kit. Yes only one person would have it but everyone would have it equipped. Therefore it would be basically a game mechanic where every match one person gets DS.

Isn't this basically the same as what Face camping used to be except only on certain maps?It was not certain maps, The killer used to be able to completely negate someone from being pulled off of any hook on any map. They did not intend for it to be used that way so the changed it, they do not intend for killers to completely keep survivors out of the basement to negate them from unhooking someone either.

To be fair, it should be habit for survivors to take down unlit totems to prevent NOED. So not having them lit up wouldn't be all that big of a deal. It would also give hex users a fairer chance instead of loosing their totems less than a minute into the game. Not really, A lot of good survivors do not even bother with unlit totems, myself included. Noed isnt that prevalent in the game. And if they do have it you generally have enough time to find the totem because the killer will camp the hooked person anyways.

Na I kinda disagree. The reason why you do well as a mediocore Nurse player is mostly because there are many survivors out there, that can't handle her well or just aren't so good in general. I mean I do many mistake against a nurse by myself. But still i can avoid her hits or trick some Nurse players into a pallet stun, while others on red Rank fall like flies. And I would say I'm not super good survivor in general.
The only questionable thing might be Nurse with certain AddOn-Combos. I've barely tried to play with them. Prefer other killers like LF or Wraith tbh. So I can't say how it is to play her on a regular Basis. I can only tell it's a lot about thinking where a Survivor will be etc. And that requires experience.
On the other hand. There is a good skill or game understanding which all the other killers require in comparison to the Nurse. Mostly because she ignores Elements like vaults and palletes.
While with other killers you kinda have to learn how to handle with them, when survivors use them. What's mindgamable. What's safe. When can I throw as huntress, chainsaw as Billy etc.
Stuff that a Nurse only player never learns. Because they don't need to learn them. Still she is a killer you need to get into. And even after you learned how to blink, then there is much more to learn in sense of game knowledge and usability, while other killers might rely more on survivor mistakes than her.
So I would say that she requires skill. There is more besides learning to master her ability. Maybe people overestimate the gap a little bit. But it requires skill for a Nurse to stand a chance against good survivors.Im a good survivor, and a very good killer. Nurse is probably my 4th favorite killer to play and my main is huntress. I disagree with you. A half decent nurse can absolutely tear apart a group of good survivors. Especially when you throw on an extra blink or two.

@KillJiggy True but this one seems to be a little different. Considering you can lose some of your stuff when you die and since you have to fill your own syringe with nectar it seems like you would have to do the gen yourself. It seems like the nectar is a totally seperate objective for each Survivor to do, nothing to do with generators.
Yeah so its a personal thing, based on your own progression of the nectar. Thanks.

KillJiggy said:If you do a short melee, not a lunge as they are jumping in you will grab them out of the hatch. Also survivors can jump out the hatch in the downed state. As well as with the pigs reverse bear trap on.
OK so does that mean not fully press the hit button or press quickly?
Sorry for sounding dumb.
And I know you can crawl out in the dying state but didn't understand if he's injured and hobbling to the Hatch and I hit him and here the noises and everything for a hit he didn't go down.Just want to understand better for next time is all but appreciate your input.
So a lunge is when you hold the attack button, and to grab an injured survivor that is a) crawling through a window/over a pallet b) pull them out of the hatch... You must use the short attack where you just tap your attack button. (you can pull healthy survivors out of the hatch too, but not through windows and such) If you hit him as he was going through the hatch he will continue to go through the hatch, if they dont they will go down and can instantly jump in before your attack cooldown is over. Hope that answered your question.

Being a brand new player, I'm looking into how the event is supposed to play out. If it's too much of a PITA for new players, then I might just hop back into Overwatch for the season and get my skins over there.Haha they normally give a very generous amount of time to get the skins
Which game? I know Overwatch does. That event starts tomorrow (along with the Torb rework, many assume) and goes until Halloween. Plus, I have around 30k coins over there anyway, so could just buy any skins I want.
I really have no intention of going back to Overwatch at this point in my life (except maybe to pop in tomorrow and buy the Hockey-Mask killer skin if the rumors are true), but I want to see info on this Blight Event. If it's not new player friendly, or means a lot of people are going to be farming it and making learning the basics of trials more difficult (I only have 22 hours in the game so far), then I'll just step out from the 19th until it ends.
Dead by Daylight does. Don't worry about it. It wont affect your gameplay too much and you wont have any trouble getting all of the skins if you want them.
