See, yes this would probably be the most toxic game of all time if they did add voice chat, but they can just add an option to have it turned off if you don't feel like being yelled at.

No problem, I get it. Even if you were ranting, I get it lol. The game was better before the dedicated servers in my opinion. Do you know if they are even trying to fix these things? Or get better servers? lol
I'm pretty sure they were talking about it like 2 or 3 weeks ago on their live stream, I'm pretty sure they said they're never getting rid of dedicated servers but I think they said they're trying their best to improve them. π
-
Well, dedicated servers are a thing so 90% of your games you're going to have a laggy killer. Hitboxes are terrible, most of the time you're probably going to have to pull down the pallet like 2 seconds early because most of the time even if you do time it right and get your killer stun points, 90% of the time you're going to get hit through the pallet. I'm not even gonna talk about Huntress hit boxes. The Ranking system is broken so you're going to get a lot of potato survivors as a Rank 1 survivor. As a Rank 1 killer you'll probably run into green ranks. If you're a green rank killer, you're almost always going to run into red rank survivors. Ummmm yeah that's about it, sorry if it sounds like i'm mad and i'm ranting, i'm not I was just listing the main issues of the game π.
-
Why are some people in here attacking this idea ? I mean it's just a fun idea that this person came up with and people are attacking them for it ? Like what's the problem ? Why are you getting mad at a simple idea to make survivors in the game LGBTQ ? I personally love this idea, it makes the survivors look more interesting and fun to play as !

So I take it you rarely or never play killer or on a SWF. I actually uninstalled the game, and 50% of my frustration has to do with this one perk. I was just visiting the forums to see if they finally started fixing things. See, I played killer because all my friends have left the game. DS is fundamentally an insult to anyone that wants to play killer now and here is why:
SWFs reign supreme. When this game came out over its first two years it had lots of new players. Players that played independently where altruism was seen as a bonus and not necessity. Flash forward to now and even rank 5-20 killers are facing teams stacked with 1-6 ranked survivors with builds and on comms. Comms means they don't have to waste valuable perk slots on things like empathy or bond so it's not uncommon to run across SWFs that are entirely built with Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, maybe one Object of Obsession, and the rest filled out with Unbreakable or Sprint Bursts/Lithe/Balanced Landing. This gives them a frustrating ability to negate stealth killers completely, run from the killer even in a straight line but all they realistically have to do is get to the first pallet in order to instigate a pallet circuit, and then after the killer has done all of the hard work to get a hook- it will undoubtedly be cut short by a speedy BT/DS recovery situation.
By the time the killer gets their first hook usually 1-3 gens have been knocked depending on how disciplined the team is. Almost always 2-3 if it is a SWF. But here's where things begin to suck hard: Body blocking. BT and DS are used to body block for teammates. These are OFFENSIVE tools in the survivors hands. The premise of the game is that the killer is supposed to be offense and survivors defense however, so it's demoralizing when the survivors are literally stabbing the killer and running away. If you've ever wondered, Decisive Strike is based on the first Halloween movie where Laurie Strode stabs Mikey to get him away. It's frustrating when you're already doing mediocre to bad and then the survivor you're chasing just stabs you, jumps off, and resets your entire chase. Worse if they're using any variation of rapid healing because then it is a total reset. It's fundamentally bad in the same way the flashlights are bad- it makes the survivor the hunter, not the hunted. It flips the roles in a game that's supposed to be asymmetric. It gives the survivors a symmetry they shouldn't have. It does more to reduce a horror game to that of party game than any other factor. The fact they have a 60 second invincible timer means they can do essentially whatever they want and it punishes even fair killers because it lasts so long a killer can forget to keep track of the time so the survivors just pops back up right before it fades and punishes them with it, hunting the hunter.
Bonus points for all the teabagging and "git gud" that this one perk inevitably contributes to, because survivors for some reason thinks it takes a tremendous amount of skill to hit the small bar(even though small bar overcharge seems to have no effect in this new environment). The fact is: the game has stagnated while the community has evolved way past it-particularly the ability for SWFs to abuse their assets and bully killers. It's not even a new problem but it's obvious there's a low chance of it ever being fixed. The fact there are already other perks that reduce tunneling (breakout, Off the Record, Borrowed Time, etc etc etc) makes it a wonder that the devs still think having an invincible survivor perk is healthy.
I don't play killer, yes I am a survivor main, yes I play SWF only, but by SWF it's usually always just me and a friend of mine. Neither of us use DS unless we are getting very unlucky and we're going against boring killers that have been tunneling and camping all night.

Just nerf or completely change the perk, as of right now it's really unhealthy for the game and promotes toxic gameplay.
Possible changes/nerfs:
When a survivor enters a locker with DS still active he/she is immediately sacrificed and is locked out from queue for the next 30 minutes for toxic behaviour.
When a survivor who is slugged is picked up by perk or by other survivor he/she is stunned for 5 seconds, the killer gets notified of his/her location, the survivor enters a deep wounds state and is broken for the rest of the trial.
When a survivor misses the skill check from DS he/she is automatically disconnected from the trial and is deranked to rank 21 (a hidden rank in the game where clicking the ready button prompts a skill check every 2 seconds until you join a lobby, failing a skill check will remove you from queue forcing you to requeue again.
When a killer is hit by DS he is prompted the option to open the Dead by Daylight forum.
When a survivor who used DS on a killer gets downed the killer gains the ability to crouch and can kill the survivor by his hand.
When a survivor starts repairing a generator with DS still active a sound clip plays telling that survivor that he/she is a toxic gen rusher, the survivor enters a deep wounds state and DS is deactivated for the rest of the trial.
Even tho these nerfs might be big I'm suggesting some minor compensation buffs like:
When a survivor escapes the trial with DS still active the remaining duration is carried over into the next match thus preventing some unfair killers like the clown from downing you in the first 10 seconds of the trial.
If a survivor still has DS active and the endgame collapse timer has ran out the survivor can stun the entity thus escaping its realm and going back to his/her normal life.
Okay but even is the first change like ... huh ? Like what are you okay ? That is like I-
-
I don't understand why people think using a perk is toxic ? Like people don't understand the definition of toxic.
-
I don't know if you care about Duos because I usually only play with one other friend but I'll give you my info anyways.
- We are both rank 1's
- I like using Head on, Quick N' Quiet, We'll Make It, and Borrowed Time. My friend usually uses creative load outs like a hook build or an injured build or a slug build.
- Usually 1 of us ends up dying but we also both escape when we're lucky. I'd say it's pretty equal
- We usually don't die due to a specific killer. We usually die because we mess around and get our own selves killed.
- There is no specific killer that we demolish, I guess maybe a Trapper but that's because he's probably the weakest killer in the game.
- Usually the killer's rank is either 9 or 1-3
- We don't ever play toxic. We play to have fun as you can tell due to the builds we both use. Playing to win isn't fun IMO, messing around is.
- The biggest mistakes I usually see killers usually do is failing to slug, or not putting enough pressure like chasing 1 survivor for longer than 3 gens.
- The most common mistakes that I find myself doing are farming survivors off of hook with borrowed time because we usually both end up getting down anyways ο»Ώπ or maybe missing a Head On stun or just doing something really silly.
-
@AvisDeene said:
Slugging is the counter to DS. It is not fun for Killers to get stabbed by DS, especially when a Survivor gets on a gen in their face.
You donβt like being slugged? Get better at looping, run Unbreakable or do both!
Well yes that is true, you can't just say that. That's a very selfish lazy way to put it. While there are counters to slugging, the point is that it's not fun for the survivor's side. What if that person is new with the game and they don't know how to loop ? What if nobody on the team is using Unbreakable ? I'm sure it's probably not super fun for the killer to get DS'd 4 times, but we're talking from the survivors POV.
-
The whole 99 the gate strategy is fine IMO because it's balanced on both sides. There have been a handful of times where i'm the only one running to a gate that's 99 while being chased by the killer and it's gotten me killed because well, while there is a killer behind me I gotta take a left, open the gate, then run into the gate and escape and most of the time, there's not enough time π. Now I don't think making the gate-regression idea is a terrible idea, I just think the whole strategy is fine. I think @APoipleTurtle's idea is a very interesting Idea and i'm a fan of it.
-
I agree this game is a grind fest and I like your idea π. I also think a great Bloodpoint change could be so you can have an infinite amount of Bloodpoint's instead of just 1 million because 1 million barely gets you to around level 30-40. Imagine how nice it would be if you had maybe like 10 million ? π€£. That'd probably be enough to Prestige 3 someone and get all the perks on them, if not then close enough.
-
Second Win isn't a bad perk it's just the requirements to get the perk to even work. You have to go out of your way for the perk to even activate and that's why it's not used very often. It's a great perk but there are just so many better options. You're probably better off bringing a Med-Kit instead of wasting a perk slot for Second Wind because you'll just save so much time, hell even being healed by a teammate is probably more efficient than using the perk. You could use Botany with Self-Care and that will save a lot more time. There are just so much more better options when it comes to healing perks that make Second Wind not worth running because it is just such a hassle to get the perk to even work.
-
The grind is pretty crazy in this game but I guess if you love the game that much and you really wanna get everything on everybody then go for it. One idea that I really like though is I would like if they got rid of perk tiers because there are a lot of perks in this game that are just as good when they're maxed out.
-
Lmao π
-
Okay but how would they balance SWF ? Also i'll just say this right now, if they remove SWF, this game will die. Try proving me wrong because it won't work, but if they remove SWF this game will die and people like you that complain about it are gonna regret it because it's gonna lose a lot of a it's player base.
-
Okay but they're not bullying the killer they're just playing the game having fun. That's what I don't understand is a lot of people that think SWF is overpowered because of comms don't understand that most of the time a group of SWF are literally just playing the game and trying to have fun. It's almost like the killers that complain about SWF don't even think about that, they only think about SWF being bullies and playing seriously when usually that's not even the case. Whatever though.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1294198#Comment_1294198
Killer is supposed to be able to hit through the window. Now its basically impossible once they've started the animation. You basically have to be ending the swing right as they're starting the animation to get the hit.
It depends, if you're already outside of the window walking, you shouldn't be getting hit unless it's Huntress or Deathslinger. If you get hit after you vaulted the window and you're already standing up on the other side, then that's not right and for that reason vaults are very unsafe most of the time.
-
I agree I also think he needs a nerf. I think they should just make it so his power gauge goes all the way back down to zero when he picks someone up because it only goes down half way when he picks someone up and that's not enough because he gets his power back wayyy to fast right after he hooks someone.

Many of them aren't mind gameable once they throw down the pallet lol.
If every pallet on the map was mind-gameable that wouldn't be fair, especially because they removed the infinites, we still gotta have some safe loops or else looping a pallet wouldn't be very worth it.

I never said or even implied that all the loops should be weak. I said survivors have too many strong loops. Many of the maps still have an abundance of safe pallets.
And don't even get me started on the really disgusting setups where survivors can chain windows with other tiles.
All I'm saying is the devs need to remove SOME of the safe loops and replace them with unsafe loops. Survivors shouldn't be able to go from title to tile because the loops are safe.
Okay but that's the thing, all we have left are safe loops that are very mind-gameable because they got rid of all the infinites.

The recent patch may have hurt unskilled survivors. But skilled survivors still have way too much to work with on most maps.
When you accurately analyze the maps, you'll notice that survivors still have plenty of really strong loops. The devs still have not learned their lesson with these strong loops. Until they do, survivors will continue to have a pretty big advantage.
And the map variations with the big dead zones are still winnable for survivors. You just have to be much more efficient at looping (which includes winning mind games). This may be too much to ask of inexperienced players, and to that I say those players have no business being in higher ranks anyway.
Okay but you're basically wanting them to make every loop weak is what i'm getting at here. They removed infinite loops because well, they were OP, now we don't have any infinite loops and all we have to work with are normal mind-gameable pallets. What more do you want ?! They removed our infinite loops and now all we have to work with are normal loops ? If you can't hit me at a mind-gameable loop well then I just played well and it's a advantage for the survivors side ? Like I just don't understand.
-
And well isn't that why the word boring is used ? I mean like if you don't like something boring is a word that can be used against something you don't like right ?!

You're missing my point. Anytime anyone doesnt like something in this game they call it boring. That was my point. If your last 3 gens are spread across the map even the most potato of potato teams can finish that last gen. If you dont find that fun or interesting idk what to tell you
Okay but if 3 gens are spread across the map that wouldn't be called a 3 gen. A 3 gen is when there are 3 gens lined up right next to each other and what i'm saying is, 3 genning is boring for both sides because either the game can be very immersed, or it can just be a slugging simulator, and that's boring for both sides IMO. There are a lot of strategies both sides can do when a 3 gen does occur. For survivors, it's usually the killer trying to slug everyone. For killer, the survivors are also usually immersed.

Call it what you want, it's still a massive advantage over the old.
How is vaulting a window an advantage ?! As a survivor, you vault windows as a escape route and shouldn't be getting hit through windows because then what would even be the point in vaulting one ? Jeez these comments make my brain hurt

Stacking on gens was never ideal in the first place, so it's not even a factor in genspeed when we're talking about the speed of high end players.
Great skill checks would be a factor, true, but a fairly tiny one most of the time. Lots of RNG involved there.
Okay but this whole entire forum post is about how Killers need to stop complaining about the survivors side because the survivors got nerfed this recent patch and I'm letting you know what hurt the survivors the most. The killers got buffed this recent patch due to removing pallets resulting in a lot of dead zones, taking longer for survivors to do gens, and removing infinants off of a few maps. It's almost like the killers complaining need to go back to the patch notes because there is not a single buff the survivors got this recent patch, and if there is, give me one please.

you are a rank 1 survivor, so maybe play killer to rank 1 and then tell how ''hard'' it is to play survivor. Because I am sorry but this seems very bias.
This is why the ranking system is an issue (Not that rank matters ) but this is why the ranking system needs to be fixed. It is sooooooooo easy for killers to get to rank 1 because the ranking system is so busted right now and when rank 1 killers that would originally be rank 10 killers actually do play against genuinely good rank 1 survivors, they complain because most of the time they run into potato rank 1 survivors that should be rank 10 survivors but when they run into a good team of rank 1 survivors they just get confused. Rank 1 is the best rank in the game and we have rank 10's playing as rank 1's. The ranking systems is just so busted right now so a majority of the current rank 1 survivors play like rank 10's.
-
@Mister_Holdout said:
Killers have every right to complain because the game is still survivor-sided (going on 4 years now). The map rework was a nice step in the right direction, but unfortunately map design is still abysmal.
The devs have A LOT more work to do before the game starts becoming relatively balanced.
And your claim about how the devs balance around high end PC players is completely false. I wish that were the case though. Because then the devs would realize how strong survivors actually are and balance the game accordingly.
May I ask how the game is still survivor sided ? Because I'm gonna give you two main changes that actually hurt the survivors.
- The repair speed Efficiency Debuff for each Survivor working on a generator has been increased to 15% (up from 10%).
- Great Skill Checks while repairing now give 1% bonus progression (down from 2%).
And well, i'm not even gonna get started on the map reworks because it's gonna start a whole war. But i'm just gonna say that at least every map as a total of 2-3 Dead-Zones now.
This recent patch hurt the survivors more than it helped them, and i'm not complaining but this patch made it a lot more difficult for the survivors side. I still don't understand why killers still complain about gen speed even though it got nerfed. I just don't understand. It's almost like some people want it to be literally impossible for survivors to win.

Because its hard? Why is it everything the killer does to make the game more difficult on survivors is "boring?"
Camping is boring
Tunneling is boring
Freddy is boring
Doc is boring
3 genning is boring
Can you enlighten us all on what in this game isnt boring? Is it running around in circles for 3 minutes? Is that fun?
3-genning yourself can be difficult depending on what killer you're going against and how officiant your teammates are
Nobody likes being camped or tunneled by the killer because of course it's boring. Who tf thinks getting tunneled and camped is fun !!??
Freddy's only boring if you make him boring
Same for Doc he's only boring if you make him boring
I didn't say it was only boring for survivors because it's boring for killers too. When I play killer and the other side 3-gen themselves, it's boring AF for me as the killer too because most of the time they do accidentally 3 gen themselves, they just become very immersed. So no, it's boring for both sides not just the survivors side.
Playing the game as a efficient teammate doing gens and maybe getting ehh idk flashlight saves is fun
Survivors maybe trying new fun builds in fun.
A killer playing fair and in a fun way is fun.
A killer trying new builds is fun.
-
First time hearing it and I love it !

@danielmaster87 said:
People keep stressing how 'broken' 3-genning is, especially on killers like Doctor or Legion. I disagree. Unless you're up against nooby green ranks, any competent team of survivors can overcome a 3-gen.
The last time I 3-genned, it was Deathslinger I'll admit, I felt that I played it perfect and the survivors still somehow did a gen in my 3-gen, and that led to some getting away. I was even on Suffocation Pit which is supposedly the best map to 3-gen on. I kept everyone injured, kept braking pallets while also keeping gens in check, but then all of a sudden one popped. Last I checked it was very low progress and I couldn't have been away from it for more than 20 seconds. Turns out everyone being injured was irrelevant, because they were a bunch of gen rushing Adrenaline gamers.
So the next time someone says 3-genning is a fool proof strategy, don't take their word for it. It's just smoke and mirrors.
I'll give you a simple answer.
It's boring

-
It depends how you use them.
You can use Blood Warden by itself and it's still a good perk, if you use and endgame perk build and you put Blood Warden in it, it can be a really fun and game changing build. It just depends how you use it.
Now for Fire Up, the only perk I can think of that it's good paired up with is Brutal Strength. It's not a terrible combo and it can be a bit helpful.
Remember Me is probably his worst teachable, it's a meh perk but I can't think of anything you can really pair it up with.
So yeah, sadly his perks aren't the best, but you just gotta play well and smart with them and they gotta be paired up with something, besides Remember Me cause I can't think of anything you can pair it up with.
-
It depends how you played. If you played like a boring killer well then yeah of course some survivors are gonna be upset and are gonna say something. It all depends how the match went for them.
-
If only we had a time machine so we could go back to 2016-2017 Dead By Daylight π
-
I think Iron Will should counter Stridor because yeah, you're pretty much screwed even with Iron Will and it's just another waste of a perk slot.
-
The only perk that would need a downside right now is DS
Adrenaline doesn't need a downside because :
- It's only usable once per match
- If you're already healthy the perk is useless
Dead Hard doesn't need a downside because it's all up to you as the killer to know when they're gonna use it and time it right. If that person already used it against you earlier in the game, you already know they have it when you chase them again later in the match and it can be easily countered since you already know.
Unbreakable's downside is it's only usable once per match. So it doesn't need to be nerfed.
None of those 3 perks you listed need to be touched because they all 3 already have their own downsides, as I just listed them.
Decisive Strike is the only survivor perk that I can think of that needs a downside. There's really no survivor perks that I can think of that are OP except for DS. Even DS isn't overpowered but it can go for another rework.

Crows don't help if they are constantly moving. It isn't enough to stop the game being held hostage imo. And it's not the problem of it being a strat at times, that's why it's 6 minutes, the main problem is 2 people holding the game hostage. It doesn't happen often but it is often enough that it needs a better punishment, because most of the time reports don't do anything at all.
I know that this whole standing still issue is annoying, and sure I would love for it to be fixed, but I don't think being kicked is the way to go. I'm not sure what they could do, but I personally don't think kicking is the best idea, if you can come up with another opinion I would love to check it out, but IMO just don't think kicking is the way to go. I just feel like the whole kicking idea can hurt the game a little bit and it could possibly be used in the wrong ways. Again, I would love to look at another idea.

If they aren't trying to escape, help, or anything, they shouldn't really be playing. Also take into account the killer side, which you clearly disregarded. NOT EVERY KILLER is gonna be expecting to have the game held hostage by 2 survivors that don't want to do anything. That's why I gave the 6 minute timer, that is plenty of time to start a chase or do anything that lets the match continue.
This is why we have a crows feature. The crows tell you where someone is if they haven't moved in a long period of time. The crows feature is already enough IMO. Like i said, if nobody wants to do anything, that's just a strat you gotta do sometimes, usually when there's 3 gens and two people left. If there's one person doing nothing while there's still 3 other people left alive, you can still win the match without them even though it's annoying as hell.
-
That wouldn't be a very great idea. Someone hiding in a corner all match yeah can be annoying, but it's your job as a killer to find them and if you can't find them, well then that's your problem not theirs. Now on the survivors side, yes it's also annoying playing with a useless teammate, but there's a solution for that. If you have 3 useless teammates that are being immersed, well then do the same thing and wait for hatch or you try doing gens yourself. Now if there's just you and one other person left with 3 gens left, most likely both of you guys are going to hide rather than get gens done because you're very likely to be found doing a gen with only 2 people left. Getting kicked for not doing anything would be a very dumb idea. Hiding in a corner isn't game-breaking, it's just a strategy some people like doing, and being kicked for that wouldn't help.
-
I like it when BHVR gets creative with it. I like seeing new things and i'm all about creativity and something new.

Forever Freddy, Spirit, Nurse, and Ghostface.
Obviously nobody likes facing Forever Freddy
Spirit is Spirit
Nurse is Nurse
And Ghostface because idk, he's just a more boring version of Myers
-
When I see a Mori I just laugh and say " Wooooo omg a Mori ! "
And if the killer is like a forever Freddy or a Spirit using a Mori, I usually just say " Well they're doing me a favor I can get outta this boring match. "
For the Keys though, I don't tunnel or bring a Mori, Franklins etc. I just play the game.
-
I think the map is pretty cool and nice the way it is, but if he did just get like a straight up carnival map, that would be awesome. It would also be pretty nice if he got some creepy clown type chasing music when he does get his rework.
-
Okay but like, instead of making matches for other survivors miserable because the previous match you got destroyed for probably not putting enough pressure. Just why ? Why not try to get better at the game so that way you don't have to be a boring killer and use unfun addons and offerings for the other side. What is happening ? Why has every killer started bringing so many mori's like this guy lately ? Where have the survivors gone wrong ?!?!!!!!

"It makes them look bad" is just a factor of your opinion, though. There's nothing about it that should make someone look bad, it's just people hating on it so they want to insult people using it.
Might as well say that BBQ "makes you look bad" because you couldn't find survivors without it. Or DS "makes you look bad" because you fail at chases too much. It's all just opinion without a lot of basis.
See but that's the thing, BBQ isn't overpowered and it's not an instant down that's handed to you. Now i'm not calling Noed overpowered, although it would be nice if it was like the old Noed where it only lasted 2 minutes because then you know, it would be a bit more fair. DS, sure sometimes it gets used in the wrong way, for example, If you know that person has DS so you leave them on the floor for the minute and come back a bit too early and you still get DS'd, yeah that's not very fun because you purposefully didn't tunnel them so you left them on the floor and you still get DS'd anyways, but it's not an instant down that's handed to you like Noed. And sure it is my opinion when I saw Noed makes you look bad, but I can guarantee you that I'm not the only one that hates playing against it and feels like wasting my time looking for 5 dull totems to cleanse instead of doing gens. When I say Noed makes you look bad, here let me just say it one more time. Noed is an instant down that is handed to you at endgame, and the reason why I say " It makes you look bad " It's because if you haven't killed anyone before the exit gates are even opened, you're most likely going to get a 1 or a 2K, maybe even a 4K while using Noed. And the main reason why people use it is because they usually just wanna play like a mean killer, or they haven't been doing very good all day so they wanna use Noed because they know it'll at least guarantee them a 1K.
