For the record, I never actually brought DS before the change. But it seems now to be mandatory.

I almost never use it and get a lot of obsession-less games yet I rarely or even almost never get tunneled. It's mainly because I can loop most of red ranks killers for decent amount as a lot of them are potatoes.

Unfortunately not as potatoe as my teammates.

  • And every game I've played ended up with 2+ survivors escaping while nobody needed to use DS even once.

Maybe you and you teammates need to gid gut and rely less on a perk that allowed you to cheese your obj.

  • You're absolutely correct.

He is better than huntress for a new player.

  • 0 chance to get adept on him. He gets no chaser points. You would need to play full 15 min match as powerless 110% M1 killer.

People said Blight is weak and now he is 3rd strongest killer in the game, Also people said Twins are weak now they are top tier killer.

Lets wait and test him before we judge.

Have you played Blight on PTB ? He was unplayable and everyone agreed.

Also I awalys promoted twins to be pretty strong even during their weakened extremely buggy state on PTB.

And now I'm saying trikckster is really weak and should get changes.

  • @Mandy said:

We're going to continue to monitor The Trickster, as we do with all our killers - any changes can/will be made at a later date.

Understandable, thank you for the comment.

Here's to hoping they add base obsession.

And all other QoL changes solos need.

  • I would love to see your gameplay vs trickster if you considered his PTB version strong.

You'd probably consider blind, not blinking nurse OP as well if you can't beat trickster.

  • They have extremely creative power, wish we had more killers with power this creative.

From gameplay standpoint, they're pretty strong when played well. Optimal gameplay involves a lot of slugging and some camping which survivors don't like so they'll obviously call it bad design which it is not.

If devs wanted, they could find a few ways to change twins so they can hook easier + slug less even when I don't think it's necessary. But they don't seem to mind this kind of gameplay so I'd say they're completely fine as they are now.

  • He's a good killer yes, either high B or low A tier.

I find him to be B tier personally mainly due to the fact that his chainsaw even when very strong for snowball isn't as powerfull as other chase powers in DBD so really good survivor will loop LF for a while if tiles are even slightly favorable. Besides that he doesn't have any mobility, location abilities or stall so for me he can't be higher than B.

But I'm not a god LF player so I might be missing some tricks that push him higher.

    Ehh, i disagree.

I see more value in these badges than Charms. 😜

Haha yeah. I guess you're right.

  • About as much as charms are.

I think it was cause Orion reached 10k comments before anyone else.

I believe so, it was quite a while ago. It would be really cool if he was allowed to keep it but others would probably be envious of him. Imagine the posts about forum legacy profile picture exclusivity.

  • I've got only a few as I don't comment or post as often as some other vets.

As far as I know Orion has the most of them I ever saw on any profile. He even used to have unique nurse with a crown profile pic for a week or so given to him by a mod.

  • It is a decent perk but probably not meta.

It's hard to tell as it's a gen perk, those are never bad but not necessarily meta. If it gets stacked with other gen perks it could make pretty crazy builds (espcially in SWF) but alone probably not.

  • He won't be buffed on release tomorrow but probably in hotfixes later on.

  • I wouldn't even mind removing the healing condition altogether and just increasing the passive heal time to 1 min. You get 2 efficient heals that can be interrupted by a killer.

I don't see how could that break anything when the most viable strat is to not heal at all and just do gens. Even passive heal would mean you're losing out on another strong perk insted.

  • He's kind of fun to play but really weak. Devs will not buff him I'm pretty sure, they would announce the changes to calm the community down if they actually had any. They might buff him in hotfixes after the release but I'm sure they won't on the release date.

Honestly, wraith changes and new perks are far more interesting than the actual killer if he's the same as on PTB.

    Can I just ask,

"pay attention to him, forum; as i know most are you are super new (less than, say, 3000 hours)."

Say someone's played since end of 2017 and has been rank 1 for years straight but due to personal life doesn't have 3k+ hours yet. Would you still classify them as new?

How about someone who's been playing in 2016 but stopped in 2019 with 2.8k hours? Would you say they're new, too?

Personally I'd say everyone's opinion counts equally, no matter the hours as long as they understand fundemantals of current DBD's gameplay.

Hours can't justify a bad opinion, like if 12k hours player said OG 2016 ebony mori was balanced, his hours wouldn't justify how wroung that statement is.

  • It's like OLD AF, that's why.

It didn't get single change since release in 2016 as far as I know. Yet devs aren't doing anything for it, like a rework to make it better and healthier perk design wise.

  • It's your and your teammates job to survive, not killers. If you're too easy to catch and your teammates don't help you, you failed at your objective and deserve to be kicked out of the game by killer who's job is to kill you by any means necessary. Survivors love to shift blame for their failings on killer, calling their gameplay toxic or unfun while survivors are free to do anything and nothing is ever taboo.

Have you ever seen group of 4 survivors working on a early gen, do it to 75% and then all stop and go find a new gen ? Obviously not, they have to do it before killer even manages to get there - tunnel then gen faster then killer can have chance to do anything.

It's then exact same thing as hard tunneling survivor out of the match - creating big time management advantage for your team. Yet survivors are just playing well and it's killers fault that he suck and didn't pressure gens but when killer hard tunneles bad survivors out of the match early, it's him playing toxic and never the survivors fault for failing to evade or outloop the killer.

    Double standards

  • Yes remove the perks that promote 12 hook games with very little if any tunneling/camping.

That will makes matches more fun. You realise you're basically asking killers to bring more gen slowdown to draw out matches longer and to tunnel and camp more ?

  • I don't particularly miss mories but I do wish keys got the same treatment.

It's so ridiculous that devs couldn't simply change hatch spawning conditions to appear after 5 gens are done or when only 1 survivor remains and insted are doing something extremely complex that it's taking so long to implement and 100% won't be as good of a change as changing hatch conditions is.

I can't wait to be disappointed when they just add hatch opening animation and call it a perfect keys fix. 🤦‍♂️

  • Did you meet an evil killer who didn't kill survivors in a way you would enjoy ? What a tragedy.

You top it off with stating that rushing gens literally doesn't exist when it's the direct equivalent of tunneling.

I sence strong bias with this one.

  • Playing hard slugging or hard tunneling/facecamping builds from time to time. No BM, just playing something nobody likes to face.

  • 4 instant gen BPNs were less OP than still quite loopable and very much beatable overtuned huntress addon ?

This is some high quality post Sluzzy.

  • When 4 potatoes face off against 1 potatoe, the single potatoe team will have the advantage since he has 4 times less potatoes on his team and has to coordinate and rely only on his single potatoe "skills".

That's why killers win too much. Even if you overbuff potatoes, there's still going to be 4 times more potatoes in one team. You would know that if you played during infinites with only 3 killers in DBD and they still managed to kill just as often as they do now.

  • Priority list is our enemy. Practice mode should be much higher then it is.

  • If you're altering stats to make up for not having a power that itself is a power. Literal M1 killer would be 115% 32m TR no ablity or difference in numbers M1 killer.

    So basically Legion.

  • Breaking him out when he knows you want to break him out almost never work due to the % of his body that needs to show so that he can be revealed. GF can pretty easily duck behind something and stop you from revealing him or there's some weird collision between that prevents that anyway.

Imo it's best to just run away from him or break his stealth if he's already in chase with you. It's no big deal if you don't break him out of NS anyway.

  • It exists so that Sluzzy can make posts about how weak it is.

  • A vain attempt at stopping a regular flood.

    Good try though.

The issue is how often are protection hits really happening? Especially once they know you have the perk.

You could give it this affect you proposed and make it apply Oblivious to those people for the duration as well and it still wouldn't be ran. That's how bad it is.

Protection hits are rare enough that the pay off needs to be extreme. I mean honestly once every few games protection hits are procing...at most. The only time you really see this is two scenarios: 1) SWF squad, which once it applies once, it's never happening again. Is it worth a perk slot so survivors won't body block you? No, absolutely not. 2)They're potatoes and they're just hook trading, which in that scenario they're throwing the game anyway and the perk is irrelevant.

Anyway I like your idea. Just pointing out how weak the perk is in general when its power hinges on protection hits (which is its real flaw), regardless oh how much we keep attaching to it.

TBH the real solution to this perk is expanding the radius of what's considered a protection hit tremendously. IE maybe like as long as any other survivor is within 10m or something it's considered a protection hit. NOW we're talking. That is much more reliable.

    ad.png

The range is already 10, it just doesn't work and never procs on any perks as it's most likely bugged like protection hits were for years. If devs actually made the 10m range on injured survivors work, protection hit based perks would be so much more reliable.

Devs are just ignoring fixing something so minor as it must be very low on priority list compared to all the other broken bugged stuff in DBD.

  • Even better, make protection hits work properly. Any healthy survivor within 10m from injured one is supposed to be taking protection hit but that almost never procs any protection hit based perks as it should.

  • I'm not, I'm trying to get some enjoyable reactions from him. He always manages to entertain with his responces.

  • How are your thoughts on the MMR test Sluzzy ?

Have you seen the many 90% kill rate killer streamers who were suddently going vs top survivor teams and got completely destroyed. Have you ever considered getting on their skill level so that you can stop making these very entertaining posts.

All survivors can play as well as they do if they improved their gameplay, even you.

  • They're free to do so as much as are survivors to finish first 3 gens in first 3 minutes. Both sides can make the matches short if they are capable and chose so.

  • I agree that if MMR became active right now, it would be bad for DBD but it's not because MMR is a bad thing. The problem is with current balance of high MMR DBD, not with MMR itself.

Devs need to find ways to balance high MMR games without impacting low MMR ones. Something that would give more killers besides nurse and spirit chance to beat top survivor teams which as of now are invincible if they don't make dumb mistakes. Finding a way to stop gens from beiing finished under 5 min mark would be a good start.

I think overall slowing down of all matches would do DBD good. Matches where gens are done under 5 min or a survivor is killed under 5 min are unenjoyable most of the time so something to improve the early game for both sides would do wonders for high MMR games.

  • @Blueberry said:

Make the hit transfer to the rescuer.

Still prevents the rescued survivor from getting tunneled but also has a cost and requires a skilled save from you instead of just yolo'ing in which is what it currently is.

This paired with the removal of TR condition and replacing it with flat 32m radius of activation would be ideal change imo.

what does quickscoping have anythjing to do with his balance? Thats not the problem his problem is you cant shoot people over pallets and down them thats all he needs

As deathslinger you're supposed to shoot and down them before they even reach the pallet with how fast your ADS is. And even if they do reach the pallet & throw it down, you can still outplay almost all pallets pretty quickly if you're good.

  • If you think he's worse huntress then you never saw good deathsinger at play. Making him 115% would make him completely broken with how strong his power is in chases.

  • I'd be fine with keeping them basically cosmetic way to sacrafice a survivor as long as they nerf keys as hard as they did mories.

  • Any good one.

Besides that hhe stronger the chase power, the more intimidating the killer.

  • Another great balance ideas of Sluzzy for betterment of all DBD. Huntress is uncounterable you heard it here first.

By any chance did you get sniped sitting on a gen not paying attention and then instatly hook suicided / DCed due to your dumb mistakes ?

If you aren't playing attention or not thinking at all during chase that would explain why you think she's uncounterable.

Anyhow keep us entertained, you threads and comments are alway hilarious to read.

  • Hardest to use - Deathslinger

Easiest to use - Legion (people will tell you spirit but that's mainly due to salt, she requires more skill to be played than legion or just having headphones)

Most fun - that subjective. Slinger if you like FPS games and enjoy shooting. Legion for average M1 gameplay with power that mainly works to slow down the match with mending. Spirit if you want to play very strong mindgame based killer that's depandat on sound.

Best perks - It goes probably like this, from best to worst. Spirit → Legion → Deathslinger

I'm a deathslinger main so ofc I would recommend him. Pick him if you want very strong consistent chase killer (one of the best chasers in DBD) with no mobility powers. He's extremely good chaser once you learn how to properly aim his harpoons and how to use them to counter loops. There is a really lot to learn with him as each map has different tiles which can all be outplayed from different spots and a lot of very cheeky shots from tiniest of holes.

I've been playing his since he released and from time to time I still learn something new about his power. Also nothing beats the sound of hitting a survivor and reeling him towards you for a smack.

  • "This is red ranks where everyone knows how to play."

That's funny. I rarely see survivors who know how to actually play at red ranks, they're full of boosted players who hook suicide when they see something they don't like and somehow they still maintain red rank.

Besides that, yes freddy could use some nerfs but not large ones. He was terrible for years so nerfing him too hard too fast is unwaranted. Start slowly and if it's not enough, continue adding either more nerfs or difficulty.

Both works perfectly for decreasing the infamous extremly precise kill rates which are clearly the proper way to judge balancing. /s at the end

  • Both tombstones can be hard countered by lockers besides all the other things you can do againt them. Knowing how they actually work helps a lot to counter them.

  • Finally someone cultured.
