I dont run perkless as a killer (and also not as survivor) but i was at 100+ 4K streak as M1 killer... so i guess i would be able to pull off that insane magic trick.
Again, and for the last time. Dont call out other people for their builds if you are also not any better. Please dont be a hypocrite.
Please dont be a hypocrite
???
There is nothing hypocritical about this post. You're trolling.
Edit: nvm. don't even respond. I've no interest in belaboring this point. I could care less what you think of me.

I rarely, if ever, run Iron Maiden. ...but I actually think its in a really good place.
Not every perk is going to have value on every killer, and some killers will always bring more value to a perk than the rest of the cast.
Even so, Iron Maiden is a great info perk against Flashbang, Red Herring & Inner Strength. It has decent synergy with BBQ & Chili. It makes survivors think carefully about using Head On. And it punishes survivors who use lockers so much they might as well start paying rent.
To be honest, the only issue I have with Iron Maiden is that survivors don't have enough perks that integrate lockers into their gameplay.

Thanks for letting me know. We need a new mechanic for the last two/one Survivors. Any other ideas?
If I had to present a rough proposal to BHVR tomorrow for a new end-game solution, it'd probably start with implimenting an anti-soft lock match timer. No one wants to be in a trial for 30+ minutes.
At the start of the trial, Survivors are notified that they have 15 minutes to escape. Every time a generator is completed, that timer is extended by 3 minutes.
As soon as there is only one survivor remaining in the trial, EGC begins. The remaining survivor can only escape by opening one of the two exit gates.
..you might still run into similar issues of Survivor chicken in this scenario, but I would expect the difficulty of escaping through the gates as a solo survivor is incentive enough to power the gates while at least one other person is alive. On some maps, and against some killers, its near impossible to open the exit gates as the last alive (especially with No Way Out & Whispers).
This way, if a survivor decides they don't want to stick their neck out to finish those last two gens, they're sealing their own fate as well as their teammate's.

I can have literally thousands of hours ingame and still have no clue of it. If you are that good, that you don't have to rely on perks - fine for you. But who gave you the right to tell other people what they should do?
Why are you so upset that I'm imploring players who have the skill to run without perks to take it upon themselves to rebalance the game for the sake of killers' enjoyment? I have just as much right to "tell people what to do" as you have a right to respond to this post and provide a counter argument. But its hard to see why anyone would take issue with me asking survivors to be good sports and nerf themselves if they're winning with such ease.
You can fundamentally disagree with the idea, but I'm hardly being malicious with my post.

You claim, that survivor is easy and because of that you dont need strong perks (you survivor 70% of your games). I claim, killer is easy and that a crutch perks like Noed or an addon like Chili is the same level of boosted as your SWF example (i get 4Ks almost every round).
Thats why i think you should not judge others for their loadout when you basically do the same stuff but just from the other side.
And do you feel that you can 4k 70% of your games as Killer without perks & add-ons? If so, I'd implore you to challenge yourself and do just that. If not, then Killer must not be as easy as you'd like me to believe.
If I thought Killer was easy, I'd be making the same exact post but about Killer. I don't think Killer is easy, therefor I'll continue to run whatever I so choose as Killer. I ran Speed Limiter Bubba the game before my screenshot, and was given Lerys & some top notch solo survivors. Needless to say, I didn't get a single sacrifice.
Would you have prefered I post that screenshot as well, so that you're not under the impression that all I do is run "meta" perks?
You're talking to me like I'm some sort of hypocrite, when what I play as Killer is completely irrelevant to this post. I never tried to claim that Killer was easy, so why in the world would I run Killer perkless?
If I had a full meta survivor load-out, and I was screaming from the roof tops "SURVIVOR IS EASY," call me a ######### hypocrite. But I'm not doing that. So yeah, I have plenty of grounds to stand on for this post.
---
As a completely seperate argument, BBQ & Chili is not a crutch perk. Most people run it because of the bloodpoint bonus, and I'd argue its one of the healthiest killer perks in the game. It provides killers with the information they need to leave the hook and chase another survivor. How can anyone hate a perk that incentivizes killers to not camp?
I don't have any strong opinions about NOED either way. I seldom run it. This was the first game I ran NOED in roughly 6 months. The meta at high MMR is shifting away from gen regression perks, because gens are getting done quickly even through ruin & pop, and moving to end-game builds. I see No Way Out, NOED, & Bloodwarden every other game now. Its no longer a perk that only baby killers run because they can't apply pressure. It is mathmatically impossible for killers to apply enough pressure to 4k against a coordinated team (let alone one that knows how to loop). And as I stated in OP, I knew I was going up against a comp team before the match began.

Imagine being so narrow-minded to think every survivor has the same skill cap AND the intention to play like you do.
With that aspect (hey buddy, not everyone is a progamerrr like you), why should newbies or casuals play perkless? Because you told them so? Because you did it successfully?
Sorry but it really sounds like you just want to show off.
There is nothing to show off. The game is easy. Period.
Is it easy for everyone? No. Its not going to be easy for the person who just started playing this week, this month, or even earlier this year.
But for the players I explicitly adressed at the end of my post, and featured in my screenshot, Survivor is a joke.
If you're not that audience, awesome. Go find a forum post you can relate to.
This post isn't showing off. If you think it is, you've evidently not invested the time and effort into this game that I and many others have.
Its not my job to make sure my post speaks on behalf of everyone who has ever played DBD.

You are not exactly in the position to complain about builds when you run the best addon plus noed.
Thats some backwards logic there, buddy.
First, I'm not complaining.
Second, my position to "complain" about survivor is hardly dependent on what I do as killer.
Third, I'm not running a strong build or playing a strong killer. What does NOED have to do with anything?
Fourth, am I wrong?

Strange, its almost like I didn't react well to their initial patronizing remark....
Edit: There is a not-so-clever way in which people get around warnings from the mods on this forum, and it always seems to be with snarky belittling comments to posts they disagree with. Its bullying nonetheless, and its ######### tiring to read.
These forums can get unnecessarily hostile because mods don't issue warnings to those who use sarcasm as a weapon. Just because someone isn't blunt, doesn't mean they're not being a dick.

The irony is, you've completely missed the boat with my post. You belittle me because you lack the reading comprehension to see what is being said here.
So let me try again...
This Game Is So Easy Because Of Skill Based Matchmaking That Survivors Do Not Need ANY Perks TO ESCAPE.
ABOVE IS AN IMAGE SUPPORTING THIS STATEMENT. 26K BLOODPOINST WITH NO PERKS. IT WAS EASY. YOU CAN DO IT TO. NO SKILL REQUIRED. THERE IS NOTHING IMPRESSIVE ABOUT IT. THAT IS THE POINT I AM MAKING. IF YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED DEAD BY DAYLIGHT PLAYER, YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING PERKS. YOU'RE COMPOUNDING THE PROBLEM.
You're Welcome.
Hope I made this post more digestable for you.

Can I feature your screenshots too, so that others may also be aware of your greatness?
Or would you prefer not to be reminded that there is a major skill gap in Dead by Daylight?
Perhaps video evidence of my performance is needed, to validate the position of power from which I speak?
Or would you instead prefer I speak not at all on these forums about the issues in which I feel are hurting the game?

Are you expecting everyone to just go perkless?
Honestly, it would be nice to see--at least from the vets out there. DBD is a bit of a joke at the moment.
Its not long before a game in which winning is inevitable becomes boring and cast aside, or the opposing team up and leaves because they rather play a game in which their efforts to improve are rewarded with real results.
@GrimoireWeiss said:
Why this only applies to survivors? I can play Spirit with 3 slowdown perks + green/purple addons and steamroll basically any lobby out there.
I don't see the problem here and how survivors are the "power role". You went against supposedly top tier survivors using a very mediocre build with almost no slowdown on a good but not great killer, and you still got a 1k with a decent amount of points (considering Bubba doesn't make a lot of points usually due to instadowns). Sure if you used a better build on a better killer you could have better results.
Have you been playing Spirit since SBMM went live? If so, are you still steam rolling lobbies?
I've seen only one Spirit since SBMM went live, and I'm now a Gold IV Survivor (so I've played a fair few trials). I don't think the Spirit killed even one Survivor. I've been curious to know if Spirit is still performing well, and is only being matched against 4-man SWFs, or if she is not being played that often and that is the reason I'm not seeing her.
-
I hate hatch. So many problems with it and the game play it promotes. I'm always open to new suggestions.
That said, this feels more like an alternative hatch, rather than a solution to the core problem.
The big issue is that one survivor can take the killer on a long endgame chase, while the other survivor decides not to do a generator, because they can try to hide until hatch opens.
Your proposal would be the same thing.
-
M&A on Slinger is as overdone as Ruin/Undying Tinkerer on Blight.
-
There are so many reasons why SBMM may appear to be working incorrectly, or doing a poor job.
For example, last night I played in a 4-man SWF.
Our hours were as follows:
Survivor A: ~80 - 90hrs
Survivor B: ~100hrs
Survivor C: ~300hrs
Me: ~2200hrs.
How do you expect the game do pair us with the right killer in this situation?
Survivor A & B don't even know what Mend or Ruin are, and will go down to Mend outside of chase because they've never experienced the mechanic, whilst Survivor C has learned everything they need to know about the game, but doesn't have the hours to loop good killers for over a minute.
Meanwhile, I can loop even good killers for 2-3 minutes at a time--sometimes even escaping chase without taking a health state.
The reality is, theres no perfect match in this situation.

You've been playing DBD for a long time (hopefully I'm not being too presumptuous). I find in my Solo matches (as someone who was formerly in red ranks), the genrushing thing is not common.
Do you think this a thing created by the advantage of SWF? Since the SBMM dropped, I've experienced camping and tunneling to a ridiculous level nearly every game.
To me at least, more and more it seems like the only people having fun atm are SWF's. Not Solos, not Killers.
Throw on top of that the fact that people are losing patience for this behavior, and are now immediately going to struggle if they see the killer camp, and you have a free 4k handed to the killer every match.
-
IMO, the only way to fix face-camping is to force the killer to complete a secondary objective away from the hook, in order for the sacrifice to take place. If they do not leave the hook to complete this objective, the survivor will not die on the hook. This would be something that spawns once for each survivor, and can be interacted with at any time.
So long as a killer can sacrifice a survivor by doing nothing but watch them for 2 minutes on the hook, some killers will be content to do just that.
-
Ruin/Undying allows a killer who would otherwise lose in under 10 minutes to win a game in 30 minutes.
Its incredibly boring to see a game stretched out 3x in length, not because of a players' skill, but because of an effortless perk combo.
Survivors feel like they are losing to the game, rather than the killer, and that is the most unstatisfying way to go.
-

Then they aren't CAMPING lol. Also if deathslinger is never more than a shot away from the then he's at max 18 meters away from the hook and IS camping, you should be able to see it, and simply do gens while he's doing it. Nurse always being within a blink of the hook is terrible unless she's actually in a chase. She's literally giving away her main strength, which is incredible chase power, to proxy camp. She's not the greatest proxy camper.
Returning to the unhook is almost ALWAYS, outside of you being already in chase with a close down, a good decision. It guarantees you halve the survivor workforce. Unhookee is injured and running away, self caring, medkit healing, whatever. Unhooker is now stuck in a chase. That's not camping
If the killer is deliberately remaining in striking distance of the hook, they are camping.
They're not face-camping, but they are actively deciding to play around the hook (camping), rather than the gens.
-
@Exult said:
I have no idea what's going on for you guys then, because it has honestly been most of my games so far. So much so that I now run decisive strike, and I haven't equipped decisive strike for my roughly 500 hours of playing
Literally same. I think DS is a waste of a perk slot (as is Unbreakable), when all sides are playing a clean match.
This week I put DS on for the first time in a long time, because the killers I've been seeing have zero sympathy.

i'm just hoping there is enough of a consensus that BHVR finally decides to actively prevent camping, instead of attempt to discourage a completely valid, yet unejoyable, winning strategy.

Not really accurate. Most of them are just longer ranges for his chains/portal. The unique ones are really:
Original Pain: Chains apply deep wounds to injured survivors. - Pretty useless because the chain you land should be the one to drop them if they're already injured.
Impaling Wire: Spawns another chain when survivors break them on terrain. - The spawned chains are still likely to miss or do nothing at all.
Greasy Black Lens: See survivor auras for 6 seconds after chaining them. - The chains pretty much already point you in the direction the survivor is.
Chatterer's Tooth: You see the box and you can use it to gain undetectable for 12s. - Some potential for interesting plays. You lose the ability to force chain hunts, so you lose your map-wide pressure. (Probably the only addon he has that actually impacts the way you play him.)
Iridescent Lament Configuration: Survivors can't see the box from further than 16 yards away until the chain hunt starts. - Useful but doesn't change the way you play him in the slightest.
Engineer's Fang: Chains injure healthy survivors. - Useful but again doesn't change up the way you play him.
Slice of Frank: Survivors carrying the cube suffer from exhaustion. - Again useful but doesn't change the way he plays.
yeah, i was a bit confused by that remark as well.

Good for you that you play on low sbmm.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2492981#Comment_2492981
Pinhead is not weak at all. Why is every killer who is not Nurse Spirit or Blight automatically a joke?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2492923#Comment_2492923
His gateway harpoon has a lot of counter-play. for one, Flashlights are super strong vs Cenobites power. When Cenobite is slowed during opening of his gateway, you can flashlight him and the flashlight blind carries over into his gateway.
An item is not counterplay. Neither is a perk or anything beside base kit.
If you can predict where he will place his gateway, another strategy is to enter his gateway and crouch below it. you can also try to spin near gateway. It makes very hard to land his harpoon. This conditions cenobite player to not place his gateway pointblank.
Every above par Pinhead casts and shoots right away, you dont have time to react to that.
If your in a tile set with many corners, Line of sight blockers does work against it if placed in poor position.
Same as above.
His gateway harpoon is not confirmed sure-hit. it is skillshot.
Hoping that the killer misses is not counterplay.
Secondly, The add-on cannot down you and even if this ability hypothetically was impossible to dodge(i.e a player could hit ability 30/30 times), how would this be any different from Legion? Is legion overpowered for you?
Legion has a completly different kit. While Legion is a chase oriented killer with just a little bit slowdown, Pinheads power is basicly the best game stalling mechanic we have to date. On top of that - compared to Legion, he still has his chains while Legion become just a regular Killer with no power. Your comparison is not valid at all.
thirdly, The add-on does have downside. It may not be very clear, but what it downside does is make your cooldown after hitting a healthy survivor longer. It means they get more of sprint burst making Shift+W stronger on bigger maps like Mother Dwelling.
The downside is absurdly weak compared to the effect.
lastly, otz made that tier-list when pinhead just came out in PTB which is bound to some bias. I am not sure if I agree with many his placements either. For example, Pinky finger and Tusk of hair give Clown and Myers permanent instant downs(Devour hope 3) without the ability for it to be disabled. that is much stronger than this add-on for example. Blight's compound 33 add-on is borderline mother daughter ring-level power. it gives blight enduring spirit fury base-kit+clown pink bottles as base-kit per bounce on killer that is arguably among strongest in the game.
Otz made that video when he was on PTB and Pinhead was less powerful. The only thing that really changed is that Pinhead got buffed and the addon is the same.
The add-on does not need to be weaker. if anything, the add-on is not worth its iri add-on status in term of power. I kinda wish the add-on allowed you to down injured survivors but reduced your base killer movement speed to 100%. It would give pinhead a completely new playstyle when using this add-on.
Yea, it would make Pinhead a Nurse on steroid. Ballanced!
He's weak. Theres really not much else to say on the matter.
-
Without this add-on, Pinhead is a joke. His chains are incredibly weak.
Grateful I can actually apply pressure with this add-on.
-
Yes, as Killer.
No, as Survivor.
As killer, I've been running into some great SWFs who are really playing well. Most games have ended in 2ks.
As survivor, I keep dying on first hook after my teammates let me down.
-
I took a 3 month break leading up to the Resident Evil release.
During that time, I didn't read the forums. My daily dose of DBD came from Youtube.
Since I returned, I've visited the forums every other day or so.
I uninstalled DBD 2 or 3 weeks ago.
But I have reinstalled the game about 8 or 9 times since to play a few games, only to uninstall it immediately after I get off.
I am no longer enjoying the game.
Not long till I stop reinstalling, and I'll probably be gone from the forums for good when that happens.
-
This thread is getting cringe.
You gain absolutely nothing of significance by seeing other players' ranks.
-
I'd like to see Dracula or any form of Vampire Lord before they hit the modern favorites.
-
I don't see the issue.
...sounds like you should have placed more than one trap at shack so you could catch the survivor post-Dead Hard.
Or... maybe don't immediately m1 like every other Hag on the planet, so you can bait out the Dead Hard and catch them just before the pallet.
If we're talking about pressing a button to gain a health state, Hag does exactly that. She presses a button to teleport and immediately receives a free m1. There is literally no skill involved.
-
Bit of a strange rant, to be honest.
Ranks don't tell you why you win or lose.
If you want to continue improving, focus on yourself and how you can better adapt to the situations each trial throws at you. It sounds like you've plateaued because you let an arbitrary ranking system dictate whether or not you played well.
I think you just want the game to make excuses for your own short comings.
If you really care about why the game had a certain outcome, you'd find the answer by analyzing the gameplay.
-
I really want to see a Curse of Strahd Wizards of the Coast license.
After that, I'd prefer everything else to be original content. It's a bit mind boggling that they haven't introduced a vampire lord yet, to be honest. I'm hoping it is because they've been negotiating a contract. Dracula is under public domain, so they have almost no excuse not to bring him into the fold.
There are a ton of classic horror monsters they could bring into the game without licensing deals, and in some ways I'm a bit disappointed to see they're not making it happen. The Frankenstein Monster, the Phantom of the Opera (chase music would be epic), the Mummy, Wolfman (or just a werewolf), etc.

It works because im good at killer.
Ill pass on the advice, i dont need gen regression or aura reading as killer in most cases.
Wraith is a training wheels killer.
lol okay bud, no need to stroke your own ego.
You may be "good" at killer, but NOED is the only perk you mentioned that compliments his basekit ability (by buffing his movement speed), so I have a hard time believing you maximize the potential of each killer.
Great build. You just picked one of the worst killers to run it on.
-
This sounds more toxic than just ending the game.
-
I'd probably try to run No Mither on Legion.
-
Any time I injure someone with Trickster's blades the game freezes for 3 seconds and then suddenly everyone is gone.
-
A build like that is filthy on Wraith, with BBQ instead of NOED, alongside All-Seeing and Windstorm (or any reappearance add-on).
I'm surprised to hear you're finding so much success with it on Trickster. Exposed is great and all, but at 110% speed survivors should be laughing at your attempt to m1 instead of use blades. It almost feels like you're doing them a favor by going for the m1.
There is only 2 areas where I could see this build giving you an edge:
- Survivors don't heal because they know they'll be Exposed soon anyway, thus leading to easy laceration kills.
- Survivors pre-drop pallets like crazy because of Exposed, and you injure them during unnecessary animation locks.
In my experience, Sloppy Butcher will give you both of the above results in 1 perk, leaving you with 3 others for aura-reading, gen regression, and any other aid you desire.
-
Its not your job to satisfy anyone else in the game. Play the way you enjoy most.
-
Thats nice. But these situations are not what plague my games.
I watch killers camp hooks despite having seen 3 survivors with BBQ.
I watch killers camp hooks because they only saw 2 survivors with BBQ.
I watch killers camp hooks because that hook is basement and they're playing Bubba.
I watch killers camp hooks because they want to.

I just got into F1 Racing, and I honestly couldn't recommend anything more than sim racing to someone looking for a rewarding gaming experience. F1 as a sport to watch has been incredibly entertaining to get into, but I've also been impressed with how enjoyable it is to play. There is so much to learn/master, and the more you indulge yourself in the sport the more you'll want to improve.
Like any sport/multiplayer game, racing has moments where you're just a passenger watching the race being stolen from you with no way to stop it. But by and large, sim racing is just you, the car, and the track--and when something goes wrong there is no one to blame but yourself.
It has been extremely satisfying delving into a game where I can feel truly accountable for the outcome, and not be cheated or dragged down by the actions of others.
I'm tired of having my gaming experience ruined by the people I am randomly queued up with, and I believe I may have uninstalled Dead by Daylight for the last time.

Let's break down what you posted.
"The premium sticker tag tells me that only real-world money can buy this item, and no amount of time invested in the game will help me unlock my purchase. It is a signifier that this item is one-of-a-kind (even if it exists in a virtual mass market), and therefore holds intrinsic value as a product which I can possess."
Here you are mentioning the value being tied to perceived notion that the skin was one-of-a-kind(unattainable w/o cost)
"Most companies recognize that when customers purchase a cosmetic at a premium they are paying for the exclusivity of an item. Part of a product's value is derived from the amount of versions available.
The more options available, the lower the value of the product.
This is a concept I'm sure many of you are familiar with, as taglines like "One-of-a-Kind" or "Only X number of copies have been made" are popular selling points for lucrative items."
From the same opening post we have you talking about paying for the exclusivity of the item and stating that more options lower the value. Even though, that was never promised to you from the get go and is pretty sus reason to buy things. Nobody likes losing money, but in order for there to be a loss you'd need to demonstrate that your item lost value. Which it did not.
The price of item is still gonna be the same on store, so bare bones dollar value hasn't changed. The perceived exclusivity surround the item was just that perceived, never a true fact. While perception of an object's value is a definite working concept you can see in other games in this instance people are going to have an easy time paying the exact same price you paid to get the exact same item. We're not dealing with TF2 hats and CSGO skins here. You also have the option to just place the game get the variant and have both one isn't making the other go away.
You might feel burned by this and you can feel however you want. Yet, the way you opened and continued to post comes off as elitist. As for my reason of posting, last i checked it's a free forum and I have a history of posting pretty much all over the place. The real question is what did you hope to accomplish with this thread. Multi-million playerbase and one person feeling a bit put off from throwing cash at the story isn't exactly gonna move the needle.
I suppose I jumped the bullet with my OP, then.
In my mind, it is pretty straight forward why one would be upset that a product they paid money for is now being handed out for free. Therefore, instead of hammering that point in my post, I focused on the additional reasons it was poor practice on BHVR's behalf. One of the earlier responders addressed their frustrations about paying for an item that is now free, and directed me to their own post taking such stance on the matter, so I additionally felt that side of the issue didn't need to be labored over any further.
If I could speak for the masses, I would. But the reality is that I am only one person. That doesn't mean my voice deserves any less to be heard, and it doesn't mean I should give up hope that my voice could have any meaningful impact.
I've posted about issues on this forum before, and have seen change as a result. In one particular instance, my post brought attention to an issue that was than immediately handled by the developers. So I have seen first hand the effect a single forum post can have.
I'm certain I am not alone in feeling cheated by BHVR for this practice. But until I share my thoughts on the forum, it is impossible for anyone to know just how vital it is that BHVR seeks change.

If I wanted to gaslight you I'd be a bit more subtle than that, hun.
What people are have been trying to tell you is that this pattern is NOT NEW. If you were under the impression that you'd gotten something that special for dbd Original killer then you played yourself. Very few people are going to take your complaint seriously when we have been able to watch the company do this already.
Very few things for unlicensed killers and survivors are guaranteed to be exclusive. That's been made very plain, hun. Also you do come off as elitist when your very first world complaint is that you spent money on a thing you wanted, but now other people can get a slightly different version of it for just playing the game. You could have waited like others did, but you wanted the item right then and you got it.
How do you not see the irony in calling me elitist when I'm complaining about having wasted money?
If I was elitist, I wouldnt care. I'd have enough money to sweep it under the rug.
I don't throw money away. I spend it on things I believe have value.
The Hot Bod Billy cosmetic had value to me and it is only available with Auric Cells, so I needed to pay real money for it.
You have no place to judge me or the reasons I place value in things. Even the lowest classes of society place value in material possessions.
The cosmetic I purchased is now available for free. I feel cheated. I feel like I wasted my money.
I don't like wasting money. Period.
I lament my decision to purchase this cosmetic. BHVR has proven that money doesn't buy me anything I cannot earn for free. I will not be giving them any more money. Period.
That is the purpose of this thread.
So what is the purpose of your response?

My heart breaks for you wounded elitist ego. Really it does, but have you not been paying attention to BHVR's MO or words? They clearly don't want things to be particularly exclusive. Credit where credit is due, they actually care enough about the players to make sure everyone whose active enough gets to have something nice. More than I can say for a lot of other games with bigger budgets and larger teams. I might complain a ton about the direction of gameplay, but when it comes to cosmetics? They've done a pretty good job so far. Rift cosmetics eventually show up in the shop and shop cosmetics eventually slide into a Rift with so minor changes. Everyone benefits. If you want real exclusivity in DBD you should have bought Deathgarden cause then you could have the OG Runner mask for meg and OG Hunter mask for Trapper.
Not that either of those things matter. If you bought in to a cosmetic just consider it a down payment on improvements in the future.

oh iv read it and you coplaing just becouse devs decided to do recolors of auric cells you started bitching couse you lose your braging right too fell special couse of the skins and if you would take some time to check pices you would see that nea skin is a combination of 3 pices form 3 different set and billis hammer is a recolor of a event hammer from bbq event way back in 2018
you both get a kick out of trying to gas-light strangers on the internet?
The issue is that myself and many others paid money for cosmetics we were lead to believe were only obtainable with real-world money. The cosmetics we purchased are now being offered for free. We wasted our money.
Thats it.
This practice is a slap in the face to paying customers, and an insult to anyone who would spend money on a cosmetic in the first place.

How does it devalue it at all?

I have a few skins I paid $$ for that I really like and have enjoyed playing with. If a recolour of those skins showed up in the free track of the rift, I'd be happy because a) I'd get a recolour of a skin I already like, and b) more people would get to enjoy them. I would still have benefited from all the time I got to enjoy the skin in the time between when I bought it and now.
The only situation where I can imagine being annoyed is if I spent money on skins I didn't really want that much, and then a few weeks later they showed up in the rift. But, I'd be mad at myself for wasting money on something I didn't care about more than I'd be mad at the rift.
More power to you.

Sorry but paying money for something doesn't make it exclusive just because of your little definition.
Battlefield 3 for example had timesaver packs were vehicles and gun attachments could be unlocked without farming for real money.
Another example in league of legends and other games you can buy skins or in game premium currency like auric cells to unlock skin but also get them for free in loot boxes.
Third example rainbow six siege. Skins again available for premium currency are also possible to obtain by free loot packs
The argument of using real money for unlocks making them exclusive is as false/useless as it gets.
I provide you with a definition of the word "exclusive," and you resort to belittling me. How mature.
I'd offer you a rebuttle, but its clear you've no intention of even trying to understand the point I'm making.

this whole dissciusion give me the vibe i bught some skins with money to feel better then others, how dear the devs give diffrent option of that skins to people so i loose my i better then you bubble.
its not a big deal they have never said that any shop cosmetic will be exclusive, and just so you now you can earn tahat recorol too i know it souds unreal but you trully can do that too
this whole comment gives me the vibe you didn't read anything I've said in this thread.

I mean why does it matter? You get an extra recolor option if you want. I would NEVER buy the green Nea hair but I ADORE the Blonde hair in the rift rn. Having more options is always good.
It matters because:
- Consumers feel conned and/or betrayed
- In-Game Purchases lose value
BHVR should care about the fact that they are losing trust from their player base.
BHVR should also care that they are devaluing their own product, and hurting their own bottom-line.
Objectively, the decision to make premium content available for free after hundreds (if not thousands) of people have already paid for it is a terrible marketing strategy, and an even worse way to build a relationship with their consumer.
BHVR can tout their disinterest in exclusivity all they want, but the reality is they're not 100% against it. There is an undeniable appeal to limited ownership, and DBD has a number of unobtainable cosmetics owned by players who've owned the game since launch.

I find this a strange thing to say in the first place.
Just force them out.
If you want to go AFK in the corner, then actually go AFK.
Go to the bathroom, go get a drink, pull up the news, watch a Tik Tok.
---
Killers going AFK is not the universal sign for "please leave."
If anything, it tells me as a survivor that I can do whatever I want until the EGC timer runs out, because you're doing something else in the meantime.
...or are you just staring at your screen with your hands off the controls waiting for everyone to leave?
That is the least efficient means of ending the game I've ever heard of. No wonder you struggle with it so much. Even a German Shepherd would know the fastest way to end the game.

Just came over to share in my disappointment and frustrations about this move.
Its ######### up.

What thread are you replying to? Certainly not this one
Last Rift there was a blue version of the Jeff Mad Max cosmetic. You had to buy the Rift, but that rubbed me the wrong way because he is already so light on his own unique cosmetics.
This Rift, the free Billy skin is just a retexture of a $7 skin that can only be bought with Auric Cells.
I'm sure there may be others in the past that I was unaware of.

And like I've literally told you, these items are not exclusive because they can be obtained without money.
If a money can be had without spending money, it becomes less exclusive.
You yourself defined the things you are complaining about as being free in the Rifts. So I suggest you think about what you're saying a little before more people start realizing how wrong it is.
Why are you wasting your time trolling this thread?
This entire post is calling attention to the issue of exclusive skins being made free for all.

Stuff hidden behind a paywall aren't exclusive.
There are tons of games out there where "premium" stuff you pay real money for are also accessible without paying money.
I literally defined the word exclusive for you. When something requires money to obtain, it becomes exclusive.
The more an item costs, the more exclusive it becomes.
Items can also cost nothing at all and be exclusive--as is the case with Legacy Skins.
If people were to attribute a value to Legacy Skins, they would cost more than any other skin in the game because they are the most exclusive item in DBD. But they are not the only exclusive item in the game.

This is what made you lose faith? Not the YEARS of broken promises, the sharp decline in any form of communication, the three broken chapters in a row, the worshipping of statistics, the ignoring of the playerbase, or the ever-increasing incompetence of map gameplay design?
I'll take your 8k forum posts as a sign that you and I both continue to invest a lot of time in Dead by Daylight DESPITE its glaring imperfections.
I may take issue with BHVR's design decisions, but something about the game keeps pulling me back in. So as long as I am playing, I am inclined to indulge myself every once and a while with the world building, cosmetics and characters the game has to offer.

Why do some people have an issue with this? Both the Nea and Hillbilly cosmetics have quite significant differences to their original versions. Not only that but it isn't like buying the original cosmetic pieces prevents you from getting the rift versions.
As a consumer, I don't want to waste my money on any product I know I can receive for free.
By including premium cosmetics in the Rift for free, BHVR has made it clear that I can expect any and all cosmetics to eventually be made available free of charge in the future. Therefore, I no longer have a reason to spend money in their store. I don't need things RIGHT NOW. I can wait until they are free.
They have lost me as a customer for this reason, and I think anyone with enough self-control would be wise to save their money as well and just wait until their favorite skin is given to them for free.
The Hillbilly cosmetic is hardly a significant change. It is the same exact skin, with different textures. I didn't buy Beach Boy Billy for the texture on his shirt--I bought it for the beach vibes. The texture might be different, but what I paid money for is being offered for free.
