I'm honestly not sure. Maybe I'll stray away from DBD once it has proper competition, just like Friday The 13th would've been if it wasn't for the lawsuit. Until then, I plan to keep booping snoots and patting Demodogs.
Hopefully the new Evil Dead game lives up to it's expectations..

Sometimes it feels like I have the wrong mind set. But it happens a lot on killers I'm really good with, especially the more sweaty matches.
I feel you man. My only advice is to just try not to take the game as serious & play around with meme builds more often. After I started doing this, I felt better about how the match went regardless if I won or not because I wasn't sweating my ass off.
-
I was going to pick demodoggo until I saw my beloved Dweet🤗
If they gave Demo an animation to get head pats, then maaaaybe he'd be able to compete with Dweet.
-
With the way you're phrasing your words, it sounds like you don't feel like you deserve your wins & that survivors messing up is the only reason why you would win.
In that case, you're right because without survivors messing up, no matter how good you are, you'll never win. It's all dependant upon how they play at the end of the day more so than yourself.
With that being said, I often find myself not feeling good after a 4K if the entire match was a stressful sweatfest. It might feel satisfying, but it sure as hell doesn't feel worth it.

Can someone who might understand why someone would do this...
...help me to understand why someone would do this?
It's called memeing around every once n awhile instead of constantly taking the game so serious. I personally love when survivors do this because it puts a smile on my face.
Oh yeah, Oni is the hunk of all hunks so.. why wouldn't you?
-
Considering most of my friends are on PC while I'm a console pleb, crossplay was one of the best things to happen to DBD imo.
With that being said, there isn't much of an unfair advantage other than console optimization, which is good when compared to FPS games that have waaay more things holding it back.
-
Spirit = *sigh*
-
I'm head over heels for this idea, but what really made me fall in love with it was the paranoid effect. It's similar to Doctor's madness and it definitely sounds scary.
My only gripe with this whole idea is that if they were to add Slenderman, I'd like it if they'd make it to where the longer survivors look at him, the faster he becomes. This would make for some sweet mindgames as survivors either have to make him faster in chase or be forced to not look behind them constantly. Obviously as time goes on without them looking at him, he'll slowly go back to his default speed.

Brightening the screen is not that big of an issue in my opinion. Instead of everything fading into black it will just fade into gray. If there is a lot of light in your room the reflections on the screen can make it difficult to play if the screen is black.

the only reason why I could see someone making it brighter is when a game is too damn dark. Like I dont do it but I had a few matches against Freddy and when I was in the dream world I could barely see in some maps like mothers dwelling. Then again I'm blind and have to wear glasses XD
While I can understand both of your points, brightening the game pretty much renders hiding spots to be useless & therefore creates an unfair aspect. You'll always find the survivors because they wouldn't blend into the dark anymore.

Yeah, I came across a spirit who was advertising their stream in their name, and decided to pop in and was immediately disappointed to be greeted with stretch res. Just seems so scummy and cheaty...
Yeah.. it's the same thing when people make their game brighter, like why play if you're just going to be on easy mode?
-
Absolutely terrible. This perk is nothing but a handicap to both yourself and your team as you're just asking to get tunneled with it.
-
I don't think it's against the rules but it's definitely a "cheap" way to play considering you have a huge advantage from it.
-
Everytime I go against a Pig I assume I'm going to be tunneled with my party hat on because I can't remember a single game it hasn't happened, ESPECIALLY when I loop them all game. She's the best tunneling killer imo because if she wants you dead, you're dead seeming as you wouldn't be able to get your trap off in time. Uugggh.
-
Just as you mentioned in a reply, being the last person alive running from house to house & setting traps at the doors just to jump out the window and repeat the process was always so fun because it felt like you were in an actual horror movie. Not to mention, having a pocket-knife, a flare gun, etc can guarantee your survival if you play it smart.
Oh yeah, trying to drive the car out & pick a few people up before Jason got to you was always the best. I wish DBD replicated that feeling.
-
I have an amazing build.. and it's called..
Dweet-in-a-locker: Spine Chill, Urban Evasion, Inner Strength & Sprint Burst with a map to locate totems & hatch once you've realized you screwed over your teammates by hiding in a locker all game. Must be DEFAULT Dwight as mentioned per title.
As for killer..
Oh my Oni..: Nurses Calling, Sloppy Butcher, Thana & Pop with Bloody Glove and Splintered Hull on an indoor map of your choice (I'd recommend Lerys). Must be Oni, obviously. Oh yeah, can't activate your power either. It's all about aura readings babbyy
-
Don't try and fool me, I know what you're up to!
-
With Wraith, it just means he cloaked back into his invisibility. You don't have to be *too* close to hear it.
With Spirit, it just means she's phasing while *you're either inside or close to* her terror radius. Although, she could also have an add-on to where everyone hears it regardless of where she is.
-
Ooh, an actual post!
My top 3 DBD streamers are... *drumroll*
Otz - Constantly going out of his way to interact with his community & have fun. Not to mention, his tierlists and win-streaks are the best.
Tru3 - One of the best lads out there when it comes to giving advice for the game. He's always proposing new ideas & I love his weekly complications. He does have a bit of an ego though.
Puppers - This guy is just the sweetest and it makes me really sad that he is burdened with ALS. His cosplays are amazing & the fact the he mains Dweet just makes it 100x better for me.

God, if all they did was put Jason in dbd 6th year anniversary, I'd personally believe people would lose their minds in excitement
Absolutely. Given the current circumstances with the never-ending lawsuits when it comes to Jason though, I highly doubt BHVR will get their hands on him any time soon. :[

Similar to a lot of other stories here, I really loved Friday The 13th & always had so much fun on it with friends so I decided to one day look into other games that played the same way. Ended up finding Dead By Daylight & after putting it off for some time, eventually ended up buying it for myself & a friend of mine.
Man those were the days. The feeling of being a deer in headlights because I was new is something I can never recreate.
-
Love the P-Head build, although I do suggest 'I'm All Ears' since it synergies with your aura build. Even better when you have the range add-ons.
Now it's time for me to share my build(s)! Mwaha..
Oni - Nurses, BBQ, Pop and Infectious. Makes for a good information & potential slugging build.
Kate - Windows, Dead Hard, Borrowed and lately DS since I've been having a lot of tunneling killers. Makes for a lovely second-chance build ^^
-
Imagine if custom lobbies were ACTUALLY custom lobbies where you can, ya know, customize things..
Old maps, old killer powers, old events, old perks, whatever. You know how you can switch to older versions on Minecraft? If it was like that, it would be perfect.
Eh. We can only dream.

Stole it off twitter (Credit: Shbzz). Rainbow six siege has this feature and it never works. I don't see how BHVR can do any better.
Man, you are giving me some hardcore PTSD right now. Siege is TERRIBLE when it comes to this.
-
Ohh yeaaah, there is DC's constantly. I completely understand that the game is in a state where it needs to be disabled until fixed, but you can usually tell who ragequit on purpose (first one down, etc). It's sad that people are taking advantage of it, hell, even one of my friends told me to ragequit with him because he didn't want to play against Spirit today.
With that being said, I've been hit with a few errors myself & felt horrible afterwards even though it wasn't my fault. Happens to the best of us.
-
I'm pretty stoked about it since I can finally play with my PC friends now (console pleb here), so that's nice. However, they should've done this yeaaaars ago (especially since Overwatch used to be my main game).
Although I will say, I'm glad they kept it out of competitive since that would've just been an unfair shitshow. Eeuuggh.
Anyways.. as for my mains, I usually play Orisa, Zarya & Baptiste.
-
I've for the most part had good experiences when it comes to streamers but just recently had one call me every insult in the book because I supposedly "camped and tunneled him" and that I was dogshit because I kept leaving him when Tinkerer activated. Oh yeah, when I gave one of his friends exit-gate he kept telling him to teabag me, which he did lol.
There's always going to be a few bad apples out there, and the best thing you can do is not generalize every streamer you see because of a few bad experiences. Oh well.
-
I'm indifferent to it since I'm not a huge fan of the old NOES movies, but I don't see why others couldn't have a choice between the 2. It could potentially bring in even more skins as well.
-
Very passive-aggressive first sentence. Not everybody thinks the same way man.
Anyways, I'd definitely say Spirit just because she's nothing but a guessing game & there needs to be some sort of indicator that she's phasing. That's it. Anything else would make her kit weak.
As for everybody else, Nurse & Ghostface need changes as well. Ghostface's reveal is so damn inconsistent while Nurse is outdated, buggy, and ignores a looot of game elements. Sure she's extremely hard to learn, but once you do, 4k's all day long baby.
-
Waaaaay stronger. Your lunge isn't limited, you move quick af around the map, semi-invisible, etc..
Although I will say, I love to have the aura addon without the silent bell because I love seeing the survivors freak out when I'm looking at them through a wall & bong it real quick.
-
Equip Insidious on Bubba & sit in the basement across from the chest until a poor soul decides to come try stealing your treasures.
-
Yeah I definitely feel you. Went from playing Spirit to Piggy and noticed a drastic difference in not just the match outcome, but survivor behavior.
Nobody was teabagging & telling me to come here as Spirit, but instead as Piggy because they know she's weak & wonder why killers such as herself aren't played anymore🤦🏼♀️

Catching them is such a pain in the ass though🤣
Yeah but once you catch em, they know they're as good as dead xD
-
New survivor perk - 'You can't see me':
Just when they think you're overrated, you make them eat their words.
After stunning the killer with a pallet, perform a new animation called 'You can't see me' which turns you invisible for the rest of the match. You now may torment the killer with fake sound notifications.
"ARE YOU READY FOR THIS SUNDAY NIGHT WHEN WWE CHAMP JOHN CENA DEFENDS HIS TITLE IN THE WWE SUUUUPAAAAA SLAAAAM" - some funny prank call
-
When it comes to killers, I wouldn't say I have a main because not only do I tend to play survivor more, but picking a killer heavily depends on what mood I'm in.
With that being said, the closest killer to my "main" is Oni. His lore, design, soundtrack & playstyle overall definitely takes the cake for me and slapping Infectious Fright onto him makes the snowball fest 100x better. Runner-up would probaaaaably be Pig because I like Saw very much so.
As for survivor, that's easy. Kate & Dweet are my little fuzzballs mainly because of their looks & lore. Cosmetics are a bonus. Runner-ups would be Laurie & Tapp because I like the franchises they come from.
-
Honestly? If it's an offering, you can usually tell who brought it because they're the cocky bastard that just so happened to have Balanced Landing. If the game ends up going bad, you best know who I'm going to camp.
-
I'd love for him to be in the game because while I may not be the biggest fan of Slenderman, he's pretty iconic and would have a really cool power (assuming the devs didn't make up their own).
Think about it, the more you look at him, the faster he gets. This would make for some amazing mindgames since survivors would either be forced to make him faster or take the chance of running a loop without looking behind them as much.
-
Ooo, what a fun idea ^^
Camping: (Mainly hard-camping)
Tunneling: (Let's just ignore the unhooker)
I'd definitely say the list fluctuates from time to time but for me, it's pretty accurate. I also noticed that our lists are really similar in some aspects, so there's that.
-
Treehuggers because they're constantly bugged on trees (and since their arms are out, looks like they're hugging the tree)

:D Can understand.
Is Hag and Nurse and Plague uncommon on rank 1?
Hag is definitely uncommon for me, I get her probably twice out of 100 games. As for Nurse, I get her pretty often but not often enough to say she's common. Now when it comes to Plague, I used to get her every single game but I think that was because of the tome challenges, so I didn't count it.

But how would you ever find the body?
Haha, good one.
-
Probably would find some 'Killer repellent' on a Blendette.
-
I'm rank 1 and I'll usually see Spirits, Huntress, and Blight. For the killers I don't see, that'd probably be Hillbilly, Legion (I can see why lol) and Twins.
I personally would love to see more of Oni (although he's not too uncommon), Doctor and Myers. Oh yeah, can't forget about Demodoggo.
Actually, scratch that. Just give me anything that isn't Spirit, please, I'm dying over here.. literally.

It holds a value. Its called in-game progression. If i was the lead Dev in this game, You wouldnt get squat!!! Why give you free stuff, when you can play the game longer??? More time for players to get what they want, means more time the game is alive, which means more time being a cash cow. Economics
Its CLEAR that BloodPoints hold value, otherwise OP would never had come here to complain like a toddler. OR the person i replied to below.......
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2279939#Comment_2279939
Cry more about FREE stuff. Cry LOUDER, and see where it gets you........ The more you whine about FREE stuff, the less likely you will continue to receive FREE stuff
The game is literally FIVE YEARS OLD!!!! and you are crying about FREE stuff and expansions..... ALMOST every developer and publisher out there WILL NOT continue development and progression of a game past one year, TWO if its really successful
EDIT: count your blessing... The game is still alive, and still expanding. You are doing nothing to help the game by making childish complaints
TL;DR cry more receive less
Yeah, I do plan on "crying more" and I do plan on "crying louder" because if nobody does then they'll never change their ways of completely ignoring half of the playerbase due to optimization, which they've been doing.. you said it.. FOR 5 YEARS NOW. Keep defending them, and keep making lame excuses man because people like you is what is keeping this game in it's current state. We as the players keep the game alive, so no, I don't need to "count my blessings".
