Just from my own experience it seems like the reporting system doesn’t work because of the extensive context it requires.

I had a Nea who continuously blocked me any chance she could so that the killer would down me. At some point I even wiggle off because he couldn’t make it to the hook and she still continued on doing the same thing.

Weeks went by where I checked this person’s profile and they were still able to get into the game.

It just seems like unless the person is doing it the whole match or something drastic like that nothing will get done against them. So I personally felt I wasted my time.

I personally wanna try it since I have some sort of proof, I am not holding my breath and honestly I am more tilted about killers trying to excuse this behavior probably because they don't care even when they witness it than getting annoyed over BHVR not taking my report seriously. I will have tried at least.

Hope it's alright to give some two cents on something here regarding, "The thing is 2 survivors cannot turn a game with 3 gens still un-repaired." So I think it's absolutely possible. Just really, really difficult. As you said, there's barely any resources left if people are dead (unless your teammates haven't been using pallets then it's a different story) but I remember once being in a match against an Artist months ago on the Chapel map and someone DC'd at the start of the game and we got to 2-3 gens somewhere in there and I gave Artist the chase of my life and I was lucky enough to have teammates to actually have done gens while I was being chased. I got left sadly when she finally caught me but it was worth it since the other two got out. I've had games where it looked like we were toast but somehow came back and won. Which is partially why I love dbd: each trial is unique and anything can happen!

The chances of winning though under those circumstances or even draw when there's 2 survivors left are very miniscule and pretty uncommon. But killers turning 0k to 2 or even 3k in endgame is way more possible and common.

It's a fine line between what's breaking the rules and what isn't. From the two clips I saw, the Dweet is working with the killer, both refusing to participate in normal gameplay. Falls into the category of bannable.

It's one thing letting a survivor die on the hook, its another to stay round the hooked survivor, start the unhooking animation then stopping midway, and trolling the hooked survivor that can't do anything about it.

Did you know it's bannable if a survivor tries to unhook themselves, and then you refusing to unhook them after they've done that? This is no different.

    Bonus clip from me

    https://streamable.com/1fwvxr

Killers here be gaslighting me that about what I played. What do they get out of this? I don't understand, do they also perhaps follow that Dwight gameplay when they happen to play survivor and feel put on the spot by this post? I really don't understand, Dwight had not been playing normally for half the game, after Mikaela died.

  • @VaJaybles said:

Maybe I can help with what the other two are trying to explain.

Years ago before cross play I knew two people (I ran into them in my games often) one was the killer and the other was the survivor. They'd find each other in rounds and then the survivor would run to me, drop the pallet, spam pallet, spam my gen, lockers until the killer came. Killer would ignore that survivor and chase me, all while the survivor tried to block my loop. When I was eventually hooked, I was immediately unhooked, downed and repeat until I was dead. Repeat this for the other two survivors and then the killer and his survivor friend would farm and leave.

I would run into them dozens more times. Probably have old Xbox messages if I look hard enough calling them out only to get "ggez"

I've had games with my swf where the killer spares me because they liked my character or skin or whatever. If there was a random yeah that'd probably look sus af.

Long story longer, you got trolled. But the Dwight doesn't have to unhook you, and the killer is free to give someone hatch, BUT if it's cut and dry like my example then heck yeah! Report!

So basically you're saying the killer and the survivor should already be co-operating before the game even starts?

Ah. See, I don't count 'not playing to win' as 'being nice'.

To me, being nice is generally about not slugging, camping or tunneling unless it's that or lose the game right there.

What I'll generally do is go hard from the start, get a few people on their death hook and if I'm crushing, then I'll ease up and meme with folks. Because if I don't, and I go softly from the start, the second I run into a team that wants to play seriously, it's going to be a bad game.

Splitting the queues into 'casual' and 'serious' has never worked in any game I've seen it tried in. Actually, it can make the problem worse, as you're basically saying to the 'serious' players that there's now this amazing queue for easier matches.

I am not sure, for LoL (again) it seems to be working rather well. Although the grind is pretty grueling so I am not sure people who wanna climb want to waste time on casual mode (unless they're with friends) and I know it may seem strange to some people here, but there are people who actually wanna be challenged and only play against other people who have a good understanding of their main, so they can improve or feel rewarded for doing well against slightly more difficult opponents/counters.

If the event had different objectives then playing "nice" would be the default as the killer would not have to slug because getting kills wouldn't be the objective obviously.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292428#Comment_3292428

Well...yes. The killer is 1 person. There are 4 survivors. The individual killer has more power to shape the game than an individual survivor.

LoL is not even slightly comparable, as that's a 5v5 Moba, and this is an APvP hide and seek game.

Both sides are absolutely able to turn a bad game around - but, because they are a team, the survivors will need teamwork to do it.

A win for a survivor is escaping. A win for a team of survivors is a 3 out. 2k is a draw. 3k is a killer win.

I'd say, of the two roles, survivor is the more snowbally. One bad chase and you sometimes just cannot kill them fast enough to prevent gens being done. Some killers/perk combos can snowball, but those are the exception.

LoL can definitely be toxic, but the last time I played, the Tribunal had basically cut down on that by 90%.

You can actually chat with your team in pregame. I do it frequently, mostly to make sure we don't have 4 Kindreds. Being able to see people's loadouts in the lobby is an interesting idea, but I worry that it's just going to mean everyone dodging anyone who isn't running meta.

Holy...the Tribunal has been gone since 2014... I dunno what server you were playing but EU is as toxic as ever (had been worse before the separation). People running it mid or AFKing is more annoying and tilting than being toxic imo.

The thing is 2 survivors cannot turn a game with 3 gens still un-repaired. A killer with a few hooks though, is significantly stronger at the end game because there are usually no resources left anymore. Definitely end - game perks make a turn around more possible, but when survivors bring end-game perks they might never make use of them. A hatch win isn't a real win though because there is no MMR increase, it's at most neutral.

Most of the time people I get matched with cannot chat because I have crossplay on. As for people dodging, the people who care about winning already do it if they see low prestige. But most don't care. Now the questions is, how much dodging would increase. People who already dodge will dodge regardless and I think they kind of should have the right with the matchmaking being as bad as it is atm. If it worked significantly better, dodging would be harder to defend.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3292430#Comment_3292430

Shrug. I'm nice, until you BM me.

The incentive is not only personal satisfaction in making the game fun for everyone, but you'll also get asked to join groups.

I'm not sure I catch your meaning (admittedly I should have gone to bed long ago).

What I meant with "nice" is that the event has both killers who wanna do the event or maybe have fun and killers who wanna sweat and they don't care about it. So the addition of a special event would be to separate the tryhards from the casuals who just wanna see what it is all about.

And also change the objectives so that the game can be played in a significantly different way. Like imagine not being thrown out of a game as a survivor or as a killer not fearing gens or something.

  • @TeabaggingGhostface said:

If you're being hunted you can make the guard ######### off by unhooking

I feel like most people don't know this.

  • I just can't call tryharding toxic. You simply have different expectations of the game.

Maybe in the future the devs can add an extra mode for the events so people can go and chill and maybe even create new objectives that lead to wins. Or heck, maybe both sides win if they have certain interactions. Currently the game offers no incentive to be nice.

i can't stop playing killer, just something always draws me, sometimes i do play one sweaty game and quit and sometimes i gotta push forward and drink water, lots of water

and i do play other multiplayer games im not that addicted to dbd anymore, you know i never get that effect, something about dbd is stressful and im not the only saying this, since CoH got released the game just felt way too stressed, im not blaming the perk here or anything just in general something changed, that made the killer role stressful

even if you play to chill you subconsciously start to tryhard and that ain't normal, its like hearing the gens pop or not being able to punish a survivor for messing up so hard puts so much pressure on you u wanna pop like a ballon, maybe im taking the game too seriously or maybe im just an idiot, maybe both

but take league in example, if your enemy oversteps you can punish them, in dbd, its unfair that i as a killer get punished so hard for messing up while survivors mess up so much and get away with it most of the time.

but i learnt my lesson, never complain about how difficult winning a game is, especially not in these forums.

Survivors also get punished over small mistakes. You could do all the gens and killer has 1 or 2 hooks in and come out with 3 kills because of misplay during the last 2 mins. Let's not include all the times you may be making the right decisions but a teammate refusing to take pressure on them.

If anything it feels to me like killer has more chances to affect the game even after gens are done especially if pallets have been used and there are little to none left. Survivors have no such power when they are doing bad because it's easier for killer to defend his advantage, like if 2 survivors are left with 3 gens. There's no way to come out a winner as a survivor team, at most a draw or a only one making it out.

You cannot always punish mistakes in League because there are so many variables. Your lane opponent could be inferior to you but because the enemy jungler is always there you cannot capitalize on it. Or you might be doing fine yourself but enemy toplaner got fed and is snowballing now. Certain roles and champs do have more agency in solo but this does not exist in DBD for survivors. In League you also have the clock-ticking, with certain champs becoming a lot stronger as the game goes on and others growing weaker meanwhile and winning or losing can sometimes be determined by only one mistake from one of your teammates. The thing is that over the years League has implemented more comeback mechanics. Back in the day if certain champs snowballed they could 1v5 the team on their own, but Riot did not like that and changed it and there's way less snowball potential than in the past.

But hey, when I go in League and play I know what champs my team is playing and what summoners they are bringing as well as their role in the team, in DBD I don't have that luxury except for seeing the items. The survivor they play tells me nothing about the intentions of the person behind the survivor or what they are trying to do.

Ranked LoL also gives heart attacks and if you are not trying people will flame you for trolling. Same can happen in normal mode which is more casual and even in more casual modes like ARAM. Heck, even many ARAM games I play have been lasting like 30 mins or more lately, that's how tryhard people are in LoL even on casual mode and sometimes if I see myself getting tilted or annoyed I decide to take a break. I cannot play as much League as I used to (it's way too time-consumming and I've been playing it for a really long time) and of course I don't derive the same joy as I used to the first month - year I was playing it. It's only natural after all.

I'm not saying it wasnt douchey but there is no requrement to work as a team, they didnt even spam unhook or teabag you on the hook. Look you can be upset about it, and i agree it sucks, you could maybe classify it as griefing, but it definitely isnt working with the killer.

Now if you had video of them using bond or some other aura perk to lead the killer to elodie to get the killer to kill them that would be another story, but nothing in the 2 videos you posted shows any evidence of dwight working with the killer, just a streamer being a douche.

I'm still trying to understand honestly how hard it can be to see. So you see a killer is not touching you (a survivor) from a point on, they are ignoring you etc. Isn't not doing gens and not unhooking teammates helping the killer complete their objective? What if you know killer won't hurt you from a point on and you still advance the killer's objective because you know he won't hurt you? In my language that would be translated as co-operation, but I guess for you it's only helping the killer if survivor has bond on...ok.

Hook-spamming is only slightly more annoying or tea-bagging, the result is the same no? And in that case it is griefing not clearly working with the killer, because you the survivor doesn't know if they'll be spared most of the time, but Dwight did know he'd be ok because Killer kept running past him while Dwight was injured and ignoring him.

  • Can't drop Flashbangs actually, can't lock Dredge's lockers.

the point is, just because a killer won a game doesn't mean they enjoyed it

yes you got a 4k, but you are on the verge of a heart attack, is that enjoyable?

You do know you can play a different role or another game if it affects your mental health that much right?

PvP games in general are more try-hard than single-player games. You cannot go expecting the same experience and games like LoL can last anywhere from 20 mins to 40 mins on average and require EVERYONE to juggle macro and micro, so no I cannot say I follow you, because obviously to be playing killer it must mean you at least find it enjoyable and rewarding for the most part, otherwise you wouldn't get as invested in it.

Are you on the verge of having a heart attack over 50% of the games or a couple games out of a hundred that stick out to you? If the first I would again advise to reconsider if you wish to continue playing this role if you feel it has a negative affect on you and don't enjoy it.

TECHNICALLY There is no rule against being selfish and letting your teammates die, there is a difference between that and working with the killer to get your teammates killed. The game description even says work as a team or on your own to survive.

Ok so killer letting a survivor free reign for half the game and the survivor standing in front of hooked teammates refusing to help them but gesturing doesn't strike you as co-operation but only as selfish playstyle? And killer even willingly ignoring that survivor AND at the end giving them hatch AND at the end admitting they let him free for most of the game for that reason?

You are right I guess, the only way to say for sure if they were co-operating is if I see their signed contract, I'm too stupid to understand what happened in the game.

put a trap on a dwight, he dies from it because others are doing gens faster than light

Not actually true. I'd recommend you take another look at your addons and their descriptions. You're running Bag of Gears and Tampered Timer. The only way Dwight's death would've been a result and consequence of "gen rushing" is if you were running Jigsaw's Annotated Plan addon, you're not. That addon states:

    • Each time a Generator is completed, the Death Timer of all active Reverse Bear Traps is reduced by -10 seconds.

Tampered Timer only reduces the timer's default timer. It makes it tick faster regardless of if gens get done. Gens have zero to do with this addon.

    Crate of Gears:

    • Increases the Attaching speed of Reverse Bear Traps by +50 %.
    • Decreases the Search speed of Jigsaw Boxes by -14 %.

In short, the build killed Dwight, not the gens. You killed Dwight, not his teammates or the objective which is what one of those addons punishes.

Though, to be honest, that's not what your whole post is about, is it? The mori, the build, you wanted kills why else would you run it including the mori? You weren't out for fun. If you were, you wouldn't have brought the mori or the build. What I'm not understanding is why want kills then complain about people not wanting to have fun on the forums when your whole build is I want kills then you're here proclaiming the opposite? People have explained to you why the mori is the polar opposite to survivors of friendliness, recommend you switch up your build if you're genuinely out to be a friendly killer but you aren't listening nor do you actually care. No one and I mean no one is going to take a look at that secret offering, realize the probability of it being a mori is 90% and think time to farm!

Either change your build or don't complain when survivors try to actually, you know, survive.

They want the survivors to have fun the way they do, it's obvious. I don't even know if this user is a troll anymore, everytime they make a thread complaining about sweaty survivors I see them post a screenshot where they got a 3k-4k.🙈

How is even remotely similar, just like yeah, it's a playstyle it's not fun to go against, but it's not like it is not allowed, not really the best example of being consistent. Yeah sure it makes the games take ages and is annoying, but it's not like the game will never end so not sure what your point is with the boil-over and sabo squad thing.

Did I say he took the game hostage? What are you on about the game taking ages? That's not even remotely what I was saying. Go back and read it please, this is griefing, take it from the beginning. Dwight is co-operating with killer so he can get hatch. That's the video proof of it? Are you following now?

Then the other poster claimed Dwight was meme-ing and I made a point that only him was meme-ing and the rest of us were playing normally and used farming as an example that if not agreed upon by everyone is reportable because it counts as griefing.

For his memeing response I simply asked him if he's also ok with sabo/boil over SWF as they are also memeing against the killer. Did I make it clear maybe? Leave it to killer mains to complain about tea-bagging which has no impact on their gameplay but defend griefing survivors cause they happen to like them.

  • @SmarulKusia said:

Is throwing the game and holding it hostage.

Please stop it. I've had 3 games today where killers ran oppressive anti-gen perks and camped a three gen with absolutely no desire to secure any downs (two survivors were dead on hook, and at times injured trying to fix the gens).

If possible run Hyperfocus + Stakeout, it's been left viable for a reason, I don't know what else to tell you. If they're playing meta also play meta.

You probably want to remove those videos as that likely falls under naming and shaming. The last time one of the mods mentioned teaming they said it has to be really clear.

The first video in isolation means nothing. I walk past people all the time in a chase to hit the person I am tunneling.

If dwight unhooked people the killer downed them, then this repeated multiple times: that would be a clear case of teaming. This looks a lot more like meme- ing.

Ok so how do you explain him not unhooking me and staying on my face for a while? What meme-ing? Only one person is memeing, no one else agreed to that? I thought farming while the rest of the team doesn't want to join is reportable but somehow getting your teammates killed because you refuse to save them is meme-ing? Jesus, what am i even reading here.

I hope you're consistent with survivors "meme-ing" vs a killer with boil over and sabo squad.

yeaaaa no. I’m sorry, but y’all are not going against good blights, nurses, and spirits ALL the time. A really good blight or nurse is far and few. I’ve got a 1000 hours on blight, and 90% of my matches have atleast a 2 man SWF, mostly 3. SWF is much more common than a GOOD blight or nurse. Majority of y’all would get absolutely bullied if you tried them. 😂

To be honest, most often than not the Blights I come across are usually decent or above and on top of that they run his strong add-ons (don't remember ever seeing one Blight without Alchemist Ring or Compound) and usually they also bring Eruption with other slowdown perks. In general I don't see Blight as often as I see Nurse or Ghostface, no doubt, but whenever I see one they are usually playing very seriously. I can only recall one or two Blights who were chill or bad, one was farming probably and the other was trying to do adept Blight which explains why he wasn't that good and we got 3 escape against him on Dead Dawg Saloon.

if the killer is ignoring Dwight they might not be teaming with him. IF someone were farming allies for points in my game I might let them help me kill the team faster.

Bro, what is it in you defending the Dwight? You probably don't even play solo, try playing with a person who is not contributing after killer is ignoring them. How is that NOT teaming? It's an agreement of Dwight not progressing the game and deciding not to save any of his teammates left (we were like 3, game can still be played) and Killer also not killing him because he plans on giving him hatch. if that's not co-operation what is?

I hope for your next 20 games you get SWFs that tilt you off the face of the earth and make you reconsider if you wanna continue playing this games, jesus.

  • @Audiophile said:

And for the 1000th time: IT IS NOT BOTH SIDES. 4 man swfs are 5% of matches. You can’t compare killers dealing with 4 man swfs 5% of the time to solo survivors dealing with this stuff most of the time.

And to clarify “most of the time”: I’d say 80% of games have bad matchmaking, 30% have very strong or OP killers (Nurse, Blight, Spirit), 50% have the killer running a very strong or OP build (midwich + auras + stealth, or any strong killer running their ultra strong build like rusty shackles hag, tombstone piece Meyers, etc) and minimum 50% involve excessive camping/tunnelling. So almost every game I play has one of these things going on… I’d say roughly 90% of my games are pretty much ass because of one or more of the above.

I think if you didn't start speaking about players been morally wrong etc. people may have taken this post a bit more seriously. If most killers are indeed 3k-4k-ing majority of the games then that's a great conversation starter, but unfortunately besides the killrate we don't have stats for how often Killers win (3k-4k) or where each player on this forum stands to see if they're performing belowe or above average.

Like there are killers who are 4k-ing here and complaining about fun and that the game is still survivor sided 🤣

  • Did you even read the rest of the post? Dwight is trolling. He was standing right in front of me started unhooking and left me on purpose. He did the same thing to the survivor after me. How can that not be teaming with killer when he's letting his teammates die on purpose?

Did the killer ignore dwight but follow him to find other hiding survivors?

Those are instances where you can *potentially* prove teaming.

I have a recording I believe where Dwight is standing in front of me with killer no where in sight and he doesn't unhook me on purpose, and earlier killer ignoring injured Dwight who's hanging around me. I said in the post I have a video lol.

Killer even admitted to not hooking Dwight on purpose so he could give him hatch.

  • First of all, this is a game. It doesn't say anything (most of the time) about someone's morality. People who play strong builds don't have bad morals, they are exploiting a system and that is still not bad morally because it doesn't negatively affect the livelihood of people.

The game is unbalanced in certain situations, but this is another whole conversation on if the game should be balanced or not, as well as which side has the "right" to easier games or not and why.

As it is right now I acknowledge that solo survivor can be the more grueling experience and I also acknowledge that killers here have no idea most of the time and they don't really care cause they only play survivor to unwind, so they are not invested in this role even if technically they play it sometimes.

As for killers winning 95% of the time, that is hard to tell cause this is one single killer playing the second best killer in the game and probably rather good at the game. If BHVR would share more stats we would have a better idea at what is really going on. How is killer at the lowest level? What about at mid level and what about at high level? And how much does playing fair affect killer winrate? What about bringing 3+ gen slowdown?

I personally would rather we focus on BHVR and how they can improve the experience for solo survivors like adding icons for certain actions or a ping system or being able to see teammates' perks etc. There's a lot of stuff they can do with this.

Expecting some unspoken rules to be followed doesn't strike me as the best idea for this game, cause this way it will continue to be broken and unfair. Plus someone can always claim "the majority of killers don't play this way" and those things will remain this strong for way longer than if people play normally instead of nice.

Not as much as I once did.

The game, on one hand, has probably never been better.

On the other hand, I've just played too much of it over the years and I'm a lot busier IRL than I was even a year ago.

These days, I mostly play during events, or if there's something in the rift that I really want.

Makes sense, I think that's inevitable with most games. Has happened to me with LoL and most of the people I used to play with don't even play that much either.

Usually a few hours. If I have nothing better to do maybe up to 6.

Damn, that's a lot. Do you play everyday too?

I land 90% of my DH’s by forcing an m1 through a pallet. The DH is fine.

Please make a guide how to DH when killer is waiting for your Dead Hard that has a success rate of 90%, I would really appreciate that.

  • I bring Prove thy self because more killers than I can count bring like 3+ slowdown. If it doesn't work well enough I'll be bring Hyperfocus + Stakeout, kind of sad other people can't also bring those as they are behind a paywall. This game can be pay to win at times.

  • Now imagine the usage if it wasn't behind a paywall.

  • Every Blight I've seen has been running the sweatiest stuff with Alchemist Ring and gen perks lol.

Yet here we are again in a thread where the discussion of abolishing a trick to delay a disatvantageous game state is only directed at killers. This community is so anti-killer/pro survivor its not even funny anymore. "Slug to delay hatch bad, 99ing gate good."

Why is noboy ever talking about the 4th survivor not rescuing the 3rd? "Killer not hooking bad, survivor not helping good?"

I thought killer mains said "Altruism works against survivors" and that's the reason they give for sometimes getting more kills than they would have in a game. So if this argument still stands why should they help the guy on the floor if killer is proxy camping, he is obviously using him as bait, no?

  • I try to sweat during gold but once I hit Iri 4 I just chill out and play whatever build I wanna play. if I pip up it's all good etc. De-pipping from being too efficient though is definitely bull and I've advocated about pipping once on a win. It also feels unfair to de-pip if killer is AFK and especially if they're playing with no terror radius, can't even do anything with that.

OP can you record yourself playing and getting, idk, a 5 win streak? I'm curious to see your gameplay.

I did a 36 win streak my first time playing Nurse, since survivor is so easy and Nurse so bad, you shouldn't have trouble achieving 1/6th of that, right?

You simply gotta bring Left Behind and Spine chill, so you know when to hide. Once a teammate gets hooked you know they suck so now you should play for yourself and forget about them. Stop doing gens cause completing it will give you away obviously. (it's sarcasm in case it's not obvious).

  • We just got out of the pandemic, if Netflix can lose retention once people decide to actually live their life, so can DBD.

I am personally taking Prove Thy Self with me so I don't have to deal with gen slowdown as much, if I find prove thy self disappointing I'll try to bring Stakeout + Hyperfocus. I'm simply adapting until something is done about it or it isn't. At the moment I have some of the tools to deal with it although solo is still lackluster because you cannot tell people "come join me I have PTP, let's do gen in the middle of the map" and I understand that not every person who plays can shell out money to get the counters to gen slowdown. (which is the same issue with playing for Reassurance to counter camping lol).

  • Sorry, I need Dead Hard to counter Eruption, something something not going down according to killer mains.

Braindead was too harsch lol, came out the wrong way, my point is that its just easier to play survivor role than killer role, and now im just a solo survivor and not in any swfs

You are so brave to make this post.

  • I didn't a killer who is strong with camping and 3-gens was survivor friendly.

I have a bit of a conspiracy theory take on this one... I suspect that at least some of the time for all intents and purposes it does not exist.

If the queues are pumping then I think we do see the closest thing to real SBMM as the matchmaking has a big pool of players so can be more accurate in matching you up with players of similar skill. However I strongly suspect it prioritises fast queues over accurately matching players outside of the complete baby new players.

In my own matches I notice that the survivors I play against are wildly varied in the same lobby, with one being an absolute god and another very obviously being a baby. I suspect they removed the rank system and its visibility so people wouldn't complain when they find themselves in lobbies with players of much higher/lower rank.

I think this is happening but we just cant see that if it was the old rank system it would be a total rainbow now and overall I am kinda for it. I will take the randomness and fast matchmaking over the old days where I would need a video to watch while I found a match... When I used to SWF a lot in the early days we would get to rank 1 so fast we could not find games and would have to throw/DC to derank and find matches again. Not fun.

Edit, so sorry to answer do I think it is good? Well yes but I don't think we truly have SBMM most of the time anyway and that is totally fine

That's probably not a conspiracy theory but reality.
