  • I don’t get it. You point out their hours but expect them not to play optimal at the thought of them not looking like they are taking advantage of a structure and in turn give you less of an advantage?

    Don’t worry, I’m sure when the devs rework the visuals for that map they’ll make sure to add those killer-sided breakable walls (as they have in the new badham) that you won’t break because why would you? in order to satisfy your needs.

  • Bloodlust is an outdated mechanic. Especially since map reworks.

  • "t’s been a couple days but I’m already hating this new killer ..."

    The epitome of "I don't like it so it must be broken."

  • @Sluzzy said:

    Because cancelling his M2 has no counterplay. That should be a long cooldown. He also shouldn't cancel out survivor perks.

    @Sluzzy

    Technically you can counter it as you would any other M1 with Dead Hard. If we are being technical.

    Fact is, survivors that are good against him know they need to zone themselves out, fake pallet drops, window vaults, because unless you are locked mid animation his power does not work unless you stood still. (Meaning you didn’t move left or right.)

    I’ve had survivors that instead of dropping the pallet they kept going, I used my power and they had enough time to pallet stun me afterwards. It’s a mind game because PH players have to also guess whether the survivor will continue looping or not.

    The other time I see PH players out their sword down to cancel M2 is in a dead zone, which in that case the only reason they are doing it is because they want you to step in their Rites of Judgement. Because with bloodlust they can catch up to you no matter what.

    You aren’t meant to loop him like an M1 killer, but more like a ranged killer like Huntress for example. Would you throw down a pallet at a Huntress aiming her hatchet? If you are a smart player you won’t, because it would mean a guaranteed hit for her.

    If they were to give PH a long cool down, then they would have to completely reduce the cool down after he misses, because his power (which IMO is not meant to be spammed) would feel atrocious at that point. You would have no opportunity to use it because of how limited it would feel.

  • Or maybe don’t take the t bag so serious?

    Like it is really not that deep.

  • Lol Hillbilly is still performing tho. 😂

    Also, yes her add ons are outdated and especially her exhaustion add ons. That was before when you could recover exhaustion while running.

  • Mark my words...

    All these people saying they would rather his PotD buffed to nerf his ability to zone, are going to wish it had stayed this way. Because that in itself is more powerful, it can go through obstacles the way an M1 can’t.

    Granted we still don’t know what is being changed if anything meaningful at all.

    Literally the only way he can M1 you after a fake is if you are locked in mid-animation while vaulting or throwing a pallet down. Which means you got too greedy. If you get hit in a dead zone he would have M1’d you no matter what, no need to fake it there.

  • Same reason why some players don’t play Tank or Melee classes in other games.

    Some survivors aren’t runners so they opt for other efficient perks like Botany where they can heal faster than someone who probably can run The killer better than they could.

  • I can get behind the idea of breakable walls.

    I think they need to work on making them interactive for both sides, perhaps allow a perk where survivors could also break them.

    Lol I was in one chase with a Steve that lasted about 20 seconds (took me about 30 to find him since they played stealthy at first) once I hooked him two gens pop, he gets unhooked and I chase meg for about 12 seconds and down her. Find Steve again and his gen is half way but I can’t kick it since he sprint bursted away now it’s either lose him or kick the gen. Chase lasts probably 15 seconds? Another gen gone and meg gets unhooked. Hook Steve and see Meg healing by her hook so I chase her around killer shack in this time Steve is unhooked and another gen pops then when I actually downed Meg about 20-25 seconds later last gen pops. I walk out with 0 kills since I decided not to camp her or nothin but jfc even if it was ‘because I was new’ gen times STILL shouldn’t be that horrible that’s literally making it impossible to play a new killer

    @kate_best_girl

    At some point you’re gonna have to patrol gens to add pressure. I would have never looked for someone for 30 seconds, I would have gone to every single gen to find someone.

    My guess is you also didn’t have any slow down perks so that will hurt you, especially if you’re trying to learn a killer and going against survivors who more than likely have every perk.

    It’s kind of unfair to just be like “gen times shouldn’t be this bad” when you are playing a new killer without the proper load out. In the matches I had tonight some Blights already had Ruin and pretty much had it up the entire match because of his new perk that transferring to every dull totem. We barely finished the gens because they had obviously had a lot of practice with him.

    Man it's almost like the reason people are DCing is because the Devs have problems addressing issues the Community have brought up,

    and if you have think that anyone on either side wants to suffer though Midwich you are out of your mind (who thought directly translating a map in a singleplayer game to a multiplayer game wouldn't work!)

    @Buckoben

    I’ve had killers dc because they didn’t like the map they went to when it wasn’t even one of the “survivor-sides” ones, I just had a Hag DC yersterday because basement wasn’t where she wanted it to be. Oh well. We all get maps/set ups we don’t like. Doesn’t mean they are broken in every case.

    That’s the problem with a segment of this player base ... if they don’t like something they think it’s broken, or at least that’s what they like to insinuate through the feedback they give.

    Oh so you're just ok with a survivor escaping without doing anything. Making the game last longer because they won't do gens, are hiding the whole time, or won't get you off hook because "HaTcH!!!"

    If there are 3 gens left and you can just go to and hop through the hatch without a care in the world, You. Didn't. Earn. It.

    @Hex_Stalk

    What makes you think every survivor who has a key doesn’t do anything? I Don’t understand this line of thinking.

    If it bothers you that much, crutch up and bring a mori and get them out of your game.

    Just don’t assume that just because they have a key they didn’t earn their escape.

  • If you know that you are just starting to learn him why do you care if they T Bag?

    You know you aren’t as good as you could be because he literally just came out, so why do you let them bother you?

    Just move on to the next match.

    The forums really amaze me sometimes. This dude is insanely strong, can run at 9.2m/s and can actually down in his power. He has insane map presence basically for free, is a zoning monster in his power, and can get easy downs at like half the structures in the game. His addons are just batshit insane good, and he has next to zero stun out of his power, which can be reduced even farther with addons. And somehow he's worse than Legion, who can do none of those and is literally bottom 3 killers in the game.

    Y'all need to git gud, seriously.

    @Furry_Fuccboi

    This is why I usually don’t take criticism less than 24 hours old serious.

    I am currently at work but my friend who used him said the same thing you did. He is strong, especially now that they fixed his hit box and it’s more precise now.

  • Go ahead.

    Not all of us that play killer get that bent up about keys.

    What’s next? DC on map offerings? oh wait some of you already do that. I forgot.

  • Whoever is in charge of Meg’s designs needs to really reconsider their choices. Is all I’m gonna say.

  • I’m sure she will get more cosmetics, especially when the next season of Stranger Things comes out.

    Personally I wanna see this one:

    Untitled Image

    I just love that belt and collar 💕

  • RNG would suggest that even killers like Hillbilly/Spirit/Nurse, portal killers, trap killers would provide an equal chance even if the gates were far, which they do not.

  • I disagree.

    Just because he holds his power at a window or pallet, doesn’t mean he isn’t going to miss.

    First to actually get the hit, it would require you to be locked into an animation (mid-vault, mid-pallet throwing). As a survivor you can fake both of these but he has to guess your next action or else it will cost him 2.75 seconds of not being about to do anything. This is why you see a lot of smart survivors fake the pallet throw, PH uses his power and obviously misses and the survivor still has time to stun with the pallet.

    The only thing that I personally think needs to change is the notification he still gets when someone is pulled from a cage, because that defeats the purpose of not being able to see them. Since you can still track them.

    Playing PH is harder than you think. It’s not just about zoning someone out, it’s about making the right cal when using his power. Even with I’m All Ears (a perk that is almost a must for him) you can fast vault and turn so you take away the upper hand he has because he can see you behind a wall and you can’t.

    Why is strat in quotation marks? It's a legitimate strategy. So is two survivors sneaking around. Are they annoying, sure. But isn't that the point of a competitive game? Prevent the opponent from completing objectives. Why would a killer abandon a three gen?

    @Lost_in_the_Fog

    And I agree...never said I didn’t, but it’s the same when a survivor uses immersion as a strat against a killer who has killed half the team. Just kind of tired of listening to “one is a strat the other is holding the game hostage” comments.

    Sometimes there is no other way but to immerse. Even as annoying as it might be.

  • People still believing DS is an anti-tunnel perk, and using it as the only basis to their argument.

  • The game will never be balanced, for either side. You don’t need a monetized tournament to show that.

    There are instances within the game that are either on one side or the other. Maps being one of them.

    Also, imagine thinking some of these people are at “top level”... 🙄

  • There should be.

    You can easily abuse this mechanic from the start of the game without any downside.

    Let’s go ahead and continue complaining about DS tho. 😃

    Once again it's not really what you play. Like we have all seen every build imaginable.

    It's the silly , come to the forum and post about it. Which opens you to others opinions and critiques. You must understand that when you make a post.

    Sure I can play spirit and 4k every game. Do i think the people in the forums give a #########, No. Do i think anyone is surprised , No.

    So, make a post to celebrate salt, well then expect some.

    This is what I was thinking too.

    I can’t stand for the life of me when people try to put others in a different light, other than the one they obviously want to be in.

    I’ve beaten a lot of Forever Freddies doesn’t mean I had any fun in those matches. It just made me roll my eyes because of how poorly they usually played, even with the extra time They had simply because they slotted a couple of add ons and perks.

  • The real question should be, how many of those people brought the perk because of past matches where they wish they had one of those perks where they had brought perks outside of those 9, because they either got tunneled to death, camped to death, or slugged to death.

    The holy trinity of which are built in mechanics. Yet no one seems to accept that those 3 things add to how the meta is even in place. Stop asking for nerfs on perks if you can’t even admit that at least 1 of those 3 are used at least once during a match.

  • Because it works sometimes? What’s the big deal?

  • My main issue with her is that they slap the “she can’t see the survivor” as a weakness, but you can clearly hear a survivor if you are right on their behind. Even with collision being removed you can still direct the hit without the survivor being able to do much.

  • I think parts of his rework were overturned.

    Ultimately this is just a derailment of the thread so lets get things straight:

    The point of this thread is to show that the game's gen speed is directly affected by the abundance of 2nd chance perks regardless of how its played and its overall effects on the game's generator speed balancing.

    @Warcrafter4

    sorry you feel it’s a derailment of the thread. I just don’t agree that one specific scenario means you will always encounter that with said perks. It’s just not accurate.

  • I think it needs more interesting chases.

    The running around the rock can feel stale sometimes.

    Imagine if we got chases where you could interact with more parts of the environment.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    You know the apply pressure thing is proven to be wrong right?

    Even OTZ and Tr3 both mock the "Just Pressure" arguement because it can literally be impossible to do so without the survivors messing up depending on how the map spawns/having these perks.

    @Warcrafter4

    Proven to be wrong? So when you go for someone else at a gen after you hooked someone, what do you think that is called?

    I honestly don’t care if it’s Otz, Tru3, The President, Keanu Reeves (well maybe then)... no serious no disrespect to those guys but just whomever.. mocking the very thing you are always doing as killer. Everything you do to prevent survivors from outpacing you and as a result getting them off gens is called pressure.

    But let’s reel it back to why that was even brought up. You just said how sometimes it is impossible because of perks/map set ups, yet you do not take into account the skill of a survivor... you assume that survivors stun the killer with DS when (at best) many of them are only able to bait it, but without the killer actually biting.

    You aren’t always going to be able to work around DS and sometimes that won’t matter because that survivor might be able to loop you the equivalent of them being able to DS stun you because in actuality they are very good at the game. Doesn’t mean everyone and their mother have the same skill.

    As a killer however, you can slug and force the same pressure you normally would without DS even being in play.

  • I actually disagree.

    When/If I notice there is an obsession In that match, I tend to slug someone (WHEN I find it convenient to do so) thus slowing down the game because I have now created pressure and forced at least one person off of a generator.

    The problem with your theory is the problem I have with most of the “DS/Unbreakable” complaints. You present it in a scenario where they ALWAYS use it. This is not true if you know how to play around it.

    Earlier I had a Squad that took me to Haddonfield, and 3 of them had DS/UB. I knew they were together because they immediately unhooked. So without further notice I went ahead and acted as if I left the next time and noticed it was the guy who had just gotten unhooked. Downed him and went for the recently unhooked they had BT. In the meantime a 3rd survivor was around to try to pick them up because they didn’t have enough time to use UB, so I stopped them, by injuring them, then picked up the survivor with UB and chased and downed the 3rd survivor.

    That is how when people tell you “Apply Pressure” that is what it means. Needless to say I got all 4. But ended up giving one of them the hatch. I know this is only one of many scenarios, but let’s stop acting like certain perk combos actually proc when if you play it right you can prevent them from pro cc’ing at all.

    I may try that build on trapper. And I do not have corrupt

    @ToxicMyers

    I think you will like it on Trapper. As for Corrupt, thats unfortunate :|... it's good on him.

    Only thing I can say is maybe save up to get Plague with shards, or hang in there I'm sure it will pop up sometime on the shrine of secrets.

  • I've been playing with this build on Trapper (No gen slow down perks).

    Untitled Image

    It works out for me for the most part, unless I get a bad set up in which case I try to create pressure by slugging them, and with Nurses + Sloppy it can be very lethal against swf teams because of how altruistic they get. If you are playing as Myers (Who is my main btw) Corrupt Intervention is a good perk on him, because the survivors mostly spawn where the blocked gens are, giving you an idea of what kind of path you are going to take when stalking them.

    I would also say, outside of slow down perks you have to work with your other perks too. So for instance for me, if I have Sloppy, I don't mind leaving someone wounded trying to take me to a dead area where no gens are in sight. This means they have no gens to work on, and they have to heal unless they want to be injured the next time we meet.

  • @Raven014 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585442#Comment_1585442

    A three gen strat is strong (and a legitimate strategy), but not impossible to overcome as a survivor. That is nothing like being immersed and the killer searching for you on the other side of the map, and not actually doing anything.

    Besides, if you, as a survivor, let them get a 3 gen, it is kinda your fault in the first place.

    @Raven014

    I never claimed who’s fault it was and never even brought that up.

    All I said is, you can’t kill what you refuse to chase. Simple.

  • @BaldursGate2

    You said it yourself. Sometimes games are just too different. Guess what? This is how it will still work... because that is a problem that both sides have to deal with. Even with a slow down people will still complain.

    Increasing the gen repair speed is going to buff killers for players who know what to do in instances where not so skilled players don’t. This isn’t fair when you consider that many of them (like OP) straight up admit to camping and tunneling which both can cost you the game.

  • @Zaitsev said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1589344#Comment_1589344

    DO

    THE

    OBJECTIVE

    *meant to be read in an announcers voice

    @Zaitsev

    You don’t get it but that’s ok.

    ”Do the objective” same could be said about the killer.

    Cant kill no one if you’re not chasing. You think survivors should just give up their hooks because the killer isn’t confident enough in ending a chase? Pfft.

  • @Zaitsev said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585442#Comment_1585442

    Thats not all a hostage situation. Either you get killed, or the gen is completed. If the survivors are trying to complete their objective, an impossible situation never occured

    @Zaitsev

    How do you get killed when the killer doesn't want to kill you?

    As previously stated. You can't do gens if the killer isn't chasing someone. Like, I get that you don't see what is very clear, but let's not pretend like the survivor is going to get on a hook on their own.

  • A solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.

  • Honestly dying is more exciting at that point... I’m sure many of them felt that way.

  • For gen pressure, I find Corrupt Intervention to be a very good perk on him, because it forces survivors out of 'hiding' and you kind of get an idea of where to begin stalking.

    For survivor pressure, I would say learn when to and when not to T3. Many people make the mistake of using T3 as soon as it becomes available. Sometimes for example, if I know I absolutely need pressure quick, I will leave a survivor on the ground, and pop my T3 on a healthy survivor trying to go for the save on that survivor. It also forces survivors off gens.

  • @RakimSockem said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585442#Comment_1585442

    I'm honestly guessing this is what happened here. OP had a 3 gen strat and instead of leaving the gens alone, they decided to constantly come back to the gens.

    The survivors, only 2 of them left knowing there's no way to get the gens done probably decide "well screw it, guess we can't get the gens done then" Probably searched every chest, broke every totem. I guess people expect survivors to just run in and get themselves killed because they're losing? Idk, why should they try to go complete a gen that's being patrolled while only having 2 players left?

    If the killer actually REALLY searched the map, there's no way to hide for 2 hours. They would get found eventually. There's no area on the map where you can hide that well.

    @RakimSockem

    Yep. When a killer breaks a chase because they don't want their gens touched, is the same as when survivors evade for the entirety of their match. Both become never-ending and boring.

  • A hatch that isn't guaranteed you will find first in a game about survival makes sense to me.

  • @CaulDrohn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585442#Comment_1585442

    Deciding between chase or gen control is perfectly fine, thats not refusing to do objectives. Both are the killers objectives, killing survivors and protecting gens.

    If two blendettes are urban evasioning together over the map for like 15 minutes and do not even touch a gen this whole time, always hiding whenever they hear a heartbeat, thats clearly refusing to play the game and thus a bannable offense (had that kind of game a week ago, i was dead already and watched them the whole time). They are only doing this to get the killer to DC. Do we really have to argue if that is not ok? Just common sense and dignity tells you that such behaviour is and should not be tolerated.

    @CaulDrohn

    I mean evading the killer is a part of the objective. While I find that gameplay boring, it is a part of the survivor objective.

    It is no more "abusable" than someone who only chases till so far. Same holding the game hostage result. You are not letting it end.

  • So like when killers refuse to commit to a chase when they have a 3 gen ‘strat’?
