Time is everything for killers. Even those 3 seconds are valuable. We shouldn't have our time wasted by no-skill spins. New animations would have fixed this, but they were scrapped because of entitled survivors wanting to keep easy 360s, and immature "I need to go to the bathroom" jokes. This is what we're balancing around. Sad.
How are you still getting spun in 2022?
It is like the easiest thing to counter as killer.

You're telling me you never buy games on sale? Yeah okay.
When did the OP mention games?
Also, no I don't buy games on sale because they're on sale. I am not frugal but I also only buy games that I want to play, if they happen to be on sale good, if they're not that's ok too. In case you didn't get it, that last part was a joke...

Too bad, I already bought both.

Yeah, I also like the idea that he is still able to teleport because that is part of his 'core' power, as in not something he gets via an add on or something. It would also really help with his map pressure.

Camping itself is what needs to be addressed, and it shouldn’t be at the cost of nerfing killer’s abilities.

Doesn’t necessarily show that they play survivor. I make a lot of BP a lot faster playing killer, then take them on over and dump them in my Jane..just cause. 🙂
You know what you’re right, I guess even some killer mains would dump points into survivors they wanna level.
So I guess there are some exceptions 😄
-
It is like the easiest thing to bait. 🤣
-
I always associate prestige with experience rather than skill. Because it shows two things: That they play the role of survivor and have put in the hours to hopefully learn the do’s and dont’s. In other words, it’s just a comfort zone but not a requirement where I would dodge otherwise.
Because you can always have the opposite effect where a low prestige = cracked and high prestige = bad.
-
You slug for the 4K because you feel you are deserving of a 4th kill even though the game isn’t done yet? Lool
Also you do realize that just because two are left doesn’t mean that they can’t still complete gens. They are just going to play more cautiously (a strat) just like you slugging a 3rd is considered a strat.
Just because you get bored playing hide and seek (when you put yourself in that situation by slugging for a 4K) doesn’t mean they are just afk. Nor does it mean it should automatically entitle you to a win. Funny how you complain about hatch being a get out of jail free card, while you’re asking the game to hold your hand and give exact coordinates for where the survivors are.

Having more lockers is good.
it's good for reload killers, it's great for survs to have more options to hide.
What it is, is just more swf b.s forcing the devs to fix crap that gets exploited, like this, like hooks in rpd, and soon hooks in school basement. Im sure they would rather use time and bandwith to bring us new stuff.
I’m not taking the fact that it was mostly used under those “sweaty” “exploitable” circumstances away… what I am saying is like when the killer picks up a survivor there is usually a time during the animation where a killer cannot look away. So why not give it the same treatment? Allow killers to be able to look away instead of giving them a flat 100% immunity.
-
I don’t get why they have to get rid of all locker saves. Why not remove the double lockers situation? Because in the case where there is only one locker the killer can definitely do something.
For the record I personally never used this but I think that if you have a legit angle it shouldn’t matter whether they were pulled out of a locker or were picked up. Now it’s just the reserve and survivors have guaranteed immunity. So weird how they come up with these design choices.

Yes. But the game wasn't designed with coms in mind. if they added it, killers will need a buff to keep up
And again that was fine in 2016, when things were very different.
DBD is forever changing and it is now easier to play killer than ever before. That was back when there were no aura reading perks, when pallets were super strong and there was probably double the amounts. It was only vaguely designed with that intent, that doesn’t mean that the devs still have that same mind set. Considering the fact that they have openly said voice comms are allowed and even have lobbies in their own discord.
Also while that might have been their early mindset? They did end up adding SWF. Which means that they always intended to have friends communicate and play with each other. Still that doesn’t change the fact that what you are asking is for killers to get an unnecessary buff.
-
@HellDescent said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3247558#Comment_3247558
So you are saying 4 randoms will perform just as good as swf? Also the game isn't balanced around swf. If it was balanced around swf, solos would be unplayable. But once you give solos the same tools as swf, you can balance around that. And the reason is to make solo less a frustrating experience and the game more balanced
It is possible for 4 randoms to even do better than a swf, because there are skill levels as in not everyone is good at looping or efficient.
However, we are not discussing differences between solo vs swf, we are discussing how you are warranting killer buffs based on something that should be in place for solo queue: voice communication. Something that should already be there.
-
@HellDescent said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3247306#Comment_3247306
I don't think they ever released stats for swf. Killers also got rebalanced not buffed. Their perks were changed in exchange for gen, pallet break and recovery speeds. Also the stats don't take in consideration suicides or survivors doing nothing because they have a challenge.
It really doesn’t matter what stats look like for SWF. This is encompassing all survivors across the board.
Since it is obvious they go by kill rates to buff something and not by who got which buff, buffing killer again simply because solo survivors get essentially “comms” doesn’t make any sense.
-
@HellDescent said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3247081#Comment_3247081
Because of how efficient they would immediately become. Simple example: how often do you see multiple people get off a gen to go for a save when you're hooked? Swf are much stronger than most killers rn.
They should have VC right now, because if anything they (solo survivors) are in nerfed status right now.
As for SWF being ‘stronger’ than killer, Stats show otherwise.
Even in high MMR @ the top 5% you have Trapper (the lowest one) averaging a 56% kill rate.
So I wouldn’t categorize that as being stronger than killer.
Killers got buffs and solo queue survivors remained the same in terms of information. So I am just confused when you say that because solos could get some form of feature that it inevitably means killer should get buffed. When you just got buffs and nobody questioned why survivors only got a bone thrown at them (10s BT). Doesn’t make much sense.

Solo needs only a few infos
- On Gen (with showing 0-20-40-60-80% progression)
- On Hex
- In chase
- At Gate
Solo is bad because of no coordination, not because bad at chase. You may die having 2min chase because an injured last hook teammate scared when hearing TR, not knowing killer is chasing you. If Hud shows someone is in chase, their could feel safe sitting on Gen and completed it.
This is not entirely true.
If you are an experienced player (meaning you have had a chance to understand how to read plays and also an idea of where other survivors are) you don’t need someone to be in a chase to start or commit to a gen. In fact this is actually the opposite of what they should be doing and what SWF teams don’t do. They will work on gens even in the killer’s face because they understand how bouncing aggro works.
In other words, if a killer is chasing an injured person by placing yourself nearby on a gen, it pressures the killer to have to make a choice. Either commit to the injured OR come for you (a fresh and healthy survivor).
I don’t believe that comms are doing all the work. Does it help in many cases? Absolutely. In the end the survivor is gonna have to also do what must be done. If that means take a down so the gen is completed, they will.
I would say coordination and reliability is why SWF are successful not because they receive information. At least not most of the time from my experience.
-
I don’t think solo queue getting something like VC warrants a killer buff.
I don’t understand why this always comes up when solo queue gets brought up. They are not trying to bring solos to “SWF level” they are trying to give them a feature they should have already had.
If you were talking about 2016 where killers had little to no idea where survivors were other than via BBQ sure. It is now 2022 that is no longer an issue. In fact immersion is pretty much a very minimal strat today which is also the reason it is hated amongst those who do it excessively.
-
Same reason why Blights do it.
Its the cheapest easiest way to get someone out early.
-
No thanks, I’m still gonna play Michael and at least know that I am having fun while the survivors I play against are also having some fun. Add Mr Puddles into the mix because I’ve been having a lot of fun with him lately.
I’m willing to bet the devs already know about the issues with Nurse. It’s just not something that they can change overnight.
-
I don’t even know what the point of these type of posts is.
Yes we know solo queue can use some features to help them out, no posting about how you still 4k’d in a 3v1 doesn’t add anything new on the matter of solo queue struggles.
-
It’s RNG sided.

ITT: Survivor mains who will say "this is fine, it's super rare to run into a team like this, just let them win and move on"
Also survivor mains: "Nurse needs to be nerfed, she's too OP in the hands of top tier players"
You don't get to keep SWF level play like this, while also nerfing nurse. Both need to go.
Not the same thing because you are comparing a load out vs a power.
Her power PLUS an all slow down + add ons is what is wrong with her. Nerf the perks and that would be unfair to other killers who are much more balanced, that DO NOT break that balance. Everyone and their mother understands that Nurse WITH the perks and broken add ons is what makes her too oppressive. I mean it’s not like suddenly people aren’t going to run perks so yes it would make sense that people complain about her even in a SWF situation.
-
It’s kind of hard to judge and create a summary when you can only glance at their perks and items without the needed footage to see how much of what they had made a difference. Especially when you are playing a killer who has a very slow start to the match due to the way his traps work.
They are clearly together and while one cannot deny that this is kind of extra, it is also possible that they couldn’t have won had they not had those recourses. So for me like I I got that and I got everyone on last hook or something that tells me that they needed that in order to win.
The problem is not what survivors bring to the table to outweigh the balance, the problem is the gap between what you bring and what they bring could be enough to greatly tip the balance… but RNG is RNG. Imagine if it was reversed and you brought all 4 slow down perks and they brought nothing to combat that. It’s the same thing.
-
To gain 1-2 extra seconds. 🤡
-
For me I feel like it is often a wasted perk slot, because I don’t care for immersion.
-
I personally don’t think the gameplay is what makes DBD great.
This game has a lot of iconic characters (killer/survivor) and I personally don’t think it would be as great without them. Don’t get me wrong DBD has cool characters, but it’s only a few that stick out IMO. (Spirit comes to mind)
The game has potential to be great in the gameplay department, because of its simple formula which has left the door open to do more. Many people have suggested more objective-type ideas… I’ve always said the characters need to interact more with the environment… these are things that would elevate the game.
-
The way you effortlessly let that Mikaela boon that totem …O.O for a boop.
🤣 Every killer main out there that hates CoH:
-
You still get to slug whenever you’d like. Just not as long as you’d like.
-
We should also be able to opt out of playing against Campers, Tunnelers, people who dc often, people who didn’t pay their rent that month (cuz we know they on McDonalds internet at that point), people who don’t know what 2+2 equals to, people who don’t post cute animal pics etc etc…

I am sure his add ons will get looked at in the future.

I think people aren't really putting into account that by prioritizing their challenge over their team, it is inherently selfish regardless of the further justifications. Its part of why I hate sandbagging challenges, they basically encourage this kind of stuff.

Also really? The fact that the anecdotal evidence you're claiming they brought is simply that when I've seen countless threads talking about why solo survivor sucks. Maybe just maybe, the "anecdotal evidence" is more of a long list of reasons why solo sucks. Nice try though but not the take you think it is, Johnny.

I do agree hard to tell someone being 50/50 from their posts. Maybe their more vocal on one side? Which i feel i agree with him on the fact i do see you more on survivor posts. Im around the same for Killer. But 2 of my recent posts where about Unbreakable (Pushing toward Killer) and Reassurance (Survivor). It's hard to achieve that perfect balance to show you really are a 50/50.
On topic:As a killer i personally aint one to talk i don't enjoy playing her at all. Even if i can be effective with her. Just ignoring dbd itself isn't fun for me. She's amazing in power but such a bore.
As a survivor facing her? Depends on the nurse. If its a new one its boring because they just stun themselves 50 times. If its starstruck slug nurse then we all just die in 2 minutes. Those sweet spot nurses are very fun to play against (the nurses that don't hit every blink but come close and it feels like a mindgame every time).
By me saying I am 50/50 isn’t me saying I post 50% favoring survivors 50% favoring killers. I am simply stating that I play both sides thus my opinions change/shift and are usually biased depending on what it is the topic is about.
I am not counting how much I post about each side. That is ridiculous. Especially when topics tend to stay the same sometimes and who knows some days I might wanna post on survivor more and others on killer. I am not posting to appease the balance and appear as if I am for one of the other.
As far as Nurse is concerned I’ve already said my opinion.

Yes, but the former is much more frequent.
No, I'm not gonna read all your posts, I'm just saying that you are biased towards one side over the other. I mean everyone is. There is no such thing as not being biased towards one side. That's impossible unless you're an AI.
Well consider me un bothered about how much you think I am being biased simply because your perception is really just your opinion.
If you don’t want to bother reading my posts then stop saying I am biased. In fact stop labeling people simply because you think they only favor one side more than the other.

Anyone can just claim they play both sides 50/50, pretty much see almost everyone do that. Most of the feedback you give is mostly in favor of survivors, which isn't a bad thing, but I'm just saying you're as equally as biased. Also you didn't strike any nerve, I just remember your name more clearly since you're pretty active on the forums. I mean you have 6164 posts on here. I don’t get upset at someone who I do not even remember. My time is more important than that.
Also, just because you seem to see me responding to what would positively impact survivors in a good way does not mean that I haven’t done the same for opinions about what would benefit killers.

'The title, other than attracting attention, is simply suggesting people wouldn't play selfishly if the challenges didn't rely on the behaviour of other survivors. In my case, hanging around the exit gates when trying to escape through hatch.'
It doesn't matter why you did it (yes this includes a tome challenge), you were still playing selfishly. Because those of us who have gotten the challenge without the need to sacrifice the rest of the team know this.
The only difference I see between those survivors who t-bagged, and you, is that you had something to gain, they didn't.

Notice how you drew your own conclusion from op's words and decided it was word of law.
Lol drew my own conclusion because I called him out on his title? Nice one, Average.
Out of his own words "People wonder why solo suvivors play selfishly for hatch" then I (as anyone would) assume that in the body of the post he/she is going to tell us the "why"... No? No, what he did is present us with an anecdote about how survivors in his matches were more concerned about t-bagging the killer and as a result he/she could not get hatch... thus THAT must makes solo survivors play selfishly. 🤣
Not the fact that the very thing they themselves did was already playing selfishly, when they decided to pigeonhole every solo Q survivor into "Well previous survivors t-bagged, so these survivors are gonna t-bag too". Yaaaa, sure.
Nice try though.
-
For me when I play killer it feels cheap, and like I am doing something I don’t like when it is done to me on survivor.
Yes you win but I don’t like a lot of cheese in my wins so I mostly just refuse to do it unless a survivor puts me in that position.
-
@neb said:

I mean your opinions are usually biased too. If the post is suggesting a net positive to survivors, you agree. If it's anything remotely negative to or about survivor, then you disagree.
"some opinions are biased" no, all opinions are biased. It's impossible to get an unbiased opinion, because humans by nature are all inherently biased.
Aww imagine thinking you know someone. I play both sides 50/50 and I have given plenty of feedback regarding both sides. I don't agree with everything that is suggested for survivors that would benefit them. Same with killers. Must have struck a nerve, since I don't remember who you are. 😉
Also, you forgot to add "Some opinions are biased to the side you prefer"... enough with the twisting of words and actually read the whole sentence before you start to look foolish.

Granted, but that's not the argument I'm defending. My argument in response to your original comment was simply survivors should just leave after opening the exit gate, instead of taunting the killer.
I'm happy playing selfishly to complete an annoying challenge after I've made several attempts to do it fairly. I also know I'm a fantastic team mate when I'm not doing challenges so the odd selfish game here and there doesn't eat away at my conscience 😊
You insinuated by your own title that survivors play selfishly because other teammates t bag and don’t leave. When in reality that is not the reason why.
You claim you played like that because of your challenge, so in reality you played selfishly because of your challenge not because of other people not leaving.
-
It’s good against cheaters, bad for normal gameplay.
