  • Nurse is hard, I appreciate the effort

  • Jaee is super cool, ryuga would be cooler if his takes were less weird, otz is otz and hes the best, I dont have any problems with tru3, my least favorite is whenever survivor is on the screen.

  • my preferred take is for PC nurses to go and humble ps4 swfs

  • Nah bro, your first mistake was trusting myers, dont get near an afk myers to disrespect them, dont get near a friendly myers to be friendly with them, dont trust myers ever. As a killer, a commonly agreed fun thing to do is play myers and especially with the mori add on and make new and inventive ways to make it work.

  • I feel like stronger add ons are needed, that alone could probably make demo even stronger, the shred recovery is tough but ultimately understandable.

  • Hate BT, literally rewards unsafe hooking by making yourself safe and also even then if the killer chases you after BT you can eat a hit and run away more to waste time. Shouldnt be the killers terror radius, the killer should be within 8-16 meters of hook for bt to work so its actually anti camp

If DS was actually anti tunnel instead of “I run into the locker and waste the killers time” or “play aggro cause im not in danger” people wouldnt care about ds, unbreakable is only bad when paired with DS.

    DH, the mistake eraser.

  • I mean the PH is basically completely unstoppable in SH, and also PH is completely supernatural

  • after consulting about this, I think the idea of this mode would be a sort of “survive as long as possible” and a BP farming mode, games on average would give double bp, escaping would give like x4 the usual bp

Perhaps tinker will block the gen for 20 seconds at 50% and loud noise indicator while giving the killer undetectable for 15 seconds.

    Good stuff

  • Prolly more survivors just because 2 killers are extremely strong. Ive put extreme thought into just thinking about how strong killer combinations are, even creating a category called “A killer and their win button (nurse)”. Plague unironically becomes an amazing killer in a 2v(whatever) mode, because she enables other killers so well.

Soul Guard is meta? Cool, I guess I have slipped into a different game, because in my DBD-games I dont see Soul Guard ever.

    @Topic:

If the Devs really want to have an indicator that the Perk is used, it should be a map-wide sound. Then Survivors would know that the Killer is undetectable, but they would not know where he is.

If there is ever a strong hex perk, yes it will be meta defining. The existence of soul guard weakens the ability to run hexes.

  • The indicators are the best part imo, there are too many times where your just trying to find the gen being blasted and then its just “too late”. In that vain, tinkerer will need another buff with these changes.

This list reads like "The harder it is to bully a killer the less fun they are to play against."

As a killer main, i disagree. Bubba is like the easiest killer to bully in the game and so is legion and kinda wraith. Demo, oni and hag are extremely hard to bully. This is like pretty average takes for fun killers.

  • @SurviveByDaylight said:

I don’t even go in expecting to win anymore as a survivor because it doesn’t happen that often. Perks for survivors kinda suck 🤣 they don’t do enough. What little that they do people complain about. For instance you guys be like “why is DS one minute? That’s one minute of invincibility”

well... that minute isn’t actually a lot of time if you consider other killer perks that slow down the amount of things that survivor can do while he or she is in injured one hit yet “invincible” mode 😂😂. Also slugging with infectious fright or other informational perks/auditory cues (with a good headset) to find another target. Don’t be afraid to go after someone else after you down this 1 minute invincible survivor . It’s never a bad decision as you are pulling other survivors off of gens to pick up/heal. Stalling their objective while you’re completing yours.

There are many good survie perks, nobody runs them because they arent as good as exhaustion series, DS, and BT which have nearly no activation condition

  • @YaiPa said:

awful perk. Survivors have control over the loop, basically because 3rd person camera abuse, safe spot and cracks in the walls. This means that a killer has no advantage whatsoever in knowing where there's a pallet. Ultimately you should always remember which pallets you've broken.

Basically this. I thought it was so cool to see all the pallets and maybe it could be cool to pick freddy or hag or trapper and just find god loops and trap them. The problem is, thats not worth wasting a perk for because with those killers you can just wander around for loops and trap them anyways. Maybe a buff could be that you see survivors that are near pallets, say 8 meters.

  • What is the problem with the killer having counterplay, of course the killer should be able to avoid a flashlight if they know its coming

You may have misinterpreted what was said. I wasn’t saying comparing Nurse and Billy on a killer ability level, I was comparing their nerfs. The person I quoted said that the nurse nerf was as awful as the recent Billy nerf, which it by no means is.

    My bad, misunderstood

For clarification, I’m a PC Nurse main, despite how all the killers whine about it, it isn’t awful. You gain one token while in fatigue and you gain another in about 2 seconds, you really shouldn’t be coming out of fatigue and blinking off again.

I will agree that the Billy nerf was uncalled for but I don’t think it’s going to be as bad as everyone thinks. They’ve made maps smaller so there is less distance for the Hillbilly to travel anyway, he’s still a 4.6m/s killer.

Nurse is nurse, usually when nurse uses her blinks onto a survivor, the nurse can almost instantly catch up with them once they are out of the cooldown, then just down the survivor they just injured. Billy is nothing like that, if billy gets into that cooldown during a chase, the survivor can likely take the chance to leave.

  • A boosted survivor is usually not deserving of their rank and usually is carried to high ranks by the help of others.

  • Once again, sorry for the long post, I had to rant

  • Ive found it I think

If Torment was a timed status effect then yeah, but it's permanent until they get unhooked.

Allowing a permanent status effect through a ranged attack that will turn into a mori takes too much agency away from survivors. Rather than reward Phead for mind gaming, prepping, and outsmarting his victims, you instead make ranged attacks the only viable option for the killer.

Torment doesnt do anything, its not like an actual debuff, its not like hindered, exhaustion or hemorrhage, torment is more like something the killer spends to use their power. Torment should be applied through the attack imo because at the moment torment is basically a passive thing to punish obvious mistakes, it punishes survivors for not checking if the killer is using their power, or committing too hard to a loop, however theres too much easy counterplay, such as avoiding the power entirely by running away, or crouching. The ranged attack should inflict torment so PH can more actively give torment.

  • @HP150 said:

The survivors now know that uncaging is 100% safe and that PH can't realistically guard his cages because he can't see them. This effects his overall map pressure, regardless of if he actually intended to tunnel / camp or not.

This, survivors can now shamelessly go for the unhook without worrying if the PH is on the way, whenever I tell survivors this they never seem to respond to the point that its a free unhook now, weird.

Killer is easy to play. There is nothing to deny that as even hobby killers like me get to rank 1 pretty easily. And do your really wanna compare glitches and bugs to scummy gameplay? That shows youre in no place to talk big. Also rethink what a safe unhook is about, its not just the unhooked safety. Also pallet into flashlight is intented game design, and its not an eternity, and quite easily dealt with. And DS isnt abused, thats what DS is made for in first place, anti-tunneling, which doesnt even work well, is just a byproduct. But i guess its wasted time discuisson such things with your biased opinion on whats "right and wrong".

Yet survivors still abuse those bugs and glitches you mentioned. Thats even scummier than tunneling and camping, which btw are said to be valid strategies by devs. No pallet into flashlight is not easily avoidable, its guaranteed and is far more optimal than just dropping a pallet. I said using DS aggressively by going into lockers, or with someone with DS playing decoy for another survivor, yet you ignore my points. Are those examples not an exploitation of what the perk is supposed to do. Also you arent reaching rank 1 killer without optimal perks and as a hobby you do from time to time, stop lying. Just say your a surv who doesnt understand killers and move on.

Yeah, No. I think this was an absolutely awesome change because now I'm not basically forced to look like a camper or tunneler when a whole party of save addicted Survies rush the cage, forcing me to encounter their just acquired friend when I specifically wanted to stay on the other side of the map to hunt one of them but Whispers led me to follow them all the way to the ######### cage because they're idiots who can't coordinate a simultaneous distraction/rescue.

thats still gunna happen if your just following the whispers.

I get what you're referring to, but that's not the same thing. Prove Thyself wasn't buffed as "compensation", it was changed so that it could still do what it was supposed to do (=remove the coop penalty). A compensation would have been increasing the bp reward for coop actions for example, but that didn't happen, did it?

Also, who says a change is unnecessary that warrants a compensation?

then if PH should still be able to do what hes supposed to do by buffing his kit, like making the ranged attack not be the most jukable thing in this game.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Its kind of sad to see every hour the exact same threads püopping up from killers like a hive mind spouting their complains about a nerf thats entirely rightfully, cause scummy gameplay shoudlnt be an issue at all, but its like killers seeing this as intended game design. Its not! Killers are not meant to undermining the game design. Its so ######### easy to play kilelr and not relying on scummy gameplay thats even more sad that basically noone can play this game how its designed to be played.

If you say killer is easy to play, you dont play killer, period. Even easy killers like the doctor or the legion become significantly harder to play when in the presence of a strong survivor team due to many of their strengths being invalidated. If you want to talk about killers abusing game design by camping, then I never want to see you defend the survivor no sound glitch, I never want to see you defend survivor body blocking with BT, I never want to see you defending pallet into flashlight to keep the killer stunned for an eternity, never use decisive strike aggressively because its meant to be anti tunnel, and never go into spots where a survivor is untouchable by a killer. But no, killers are the only ones that abuse game design.

But tunneling isn't "dirty", it's efficient.

Plus there was counterplay, being good. Him hard camping the cage blocking any saves was BS and i'm glad that was removed.

Someone tunnels and people act like they've committed a war crime lmao.

Facts, everyone is so quick to say if youve ever tunneled ever your a bad scummy killer. Killers shouldnt try to take out a strongest link of a team first, and killers shouldnt keep going after a survivor that doesnt know how to loop.

Exactly. That’s the point. He was being used in ways the devs did not intend. Players exploiting a failing on the devs part do not deserve compensation.

You missed my point, PH hasnt been compensated for the nerfs by giving him more consistency on his range attack.

  • @White_Owl said:

It for every change they gave a "compensation", the game would be a complete mess.

Something is problematic? Change that, period. This compensation thing doesn't exist anywhere and makes absolutely no sense.

compensation does exist, survivors see it in this game, when they nerfed gen speeds, perks were buffed. Ideally when theres an unnecessary nerf there should be a buff

No its because I see so many survivors respond the same way to killer complaints

dont tunnel, killer mains are just mad they cant tunnel etc

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    You are compensated.

You save time to resume gen pressure and fresh chases.

Thats nothing PH couldnt already do, make his ranged attack inflict torment or have it be faster. Nothing has been compensated

  • @Jujubeetch said:

Because then the perk would be too strong and can basically ensure a free hit or a down every 60 seconds, especially in maps that have many buildings. Does every new perk released have to be gamebreaking and meta-defining?

Considering how soul guard is just that, yes. Were not asking for trail of torment to be busted, trail of torment is in contention for one of the worst perks rn.

As I said the same mindless responses I see everywhere "as a survivor and killer main with 20k hours announcement" because he knows that he can't prove anything with logic and just argues apparently this guy says he play both sides but probably only plays survivor because he just starts accusing me of being mad that I can't Tunnel lol. Anybody who regularly plays killer know that you have to kill someone off fast sometimes and pyramid head was really good at that but now its gone and doesn't really have anything but a zoning tool and a mini mori.

I feel like survivors are all going to give the same response every time. Say “i play both sides” then make a post that blatantly is on the side of the survivors. People just cant acknowledge that getting rid of someone is a good play.

The title implies that you don't think survivors in general can't contribute. I agree that some survivors have a strong sense of entitlement.

I have seen far less survivors be accepting of what killers have to go through, and ive seen far too many entitled survivors just call every killer a tunneler and camper. Even when I give hatch and be altruistic ive never been complimented or given a thanks.

  • @Customapple0 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1406412#Comment_1406412

Not even worth arguing with someone who assumes survivors “can’t contribute or understand”. This killer vs survivor stance needs to stop. After all, we are all here to have a fun game.

Have you played survivor against PH? Most of the time they make a beeline for the cage, if you wasn’t lucky enough for survivors to get to you in time then he just proxy camps you. Someone goes for the save and he uses his ranged attack to instantly down you again. Is that fun? At least the devs made a change to make the gameplay healthier

If they beeline towards me good. I have played survivor, against hag who imo is far stronger at camping hook than PH. Hag even eats up less time approaching hook than PH. Yet if im getting tunneled, if my teammates are half competent they know that they can essentially force the killer off hook by doing enough gens. I just play surv less because theres nothing I enjoy about the role other than the sheer power I hold when I use dead hard and devolve into a clicky clicky. But i still understand the role, since I know killer I know that tunneling will literally cost me gens, but since I know survivor, I know tunneling does exist, especially in low ranks.

  • @Customapple0 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1406348#Comment_1406348

Lack of pressure? You can still patrol gens. In fact usually it wastes the survivors time going to the cage to rescue in most cases so there is pressure.

Its significantly less pressure than just putting someone on a normal hook

  • @Customapple0 said:

You are like the hive mind of Killers crying about the supposed nerf.

It’s only a nerf if you chase the cage and camp/tunnel. Otherwise it doesn’t affect you. Also it still offers the benefit of not triggering many hook related perks for survivors (namely DS) and it saves you from flashlight saves, body blockers etc.

Honestly if you only played him just to camp the cage then I’m glad you been put off of playing him.

Yet another survivor who doesnt contribute and will call me a tunneler. Im still gunna main pyramidhead, usually your not avoiding the hook related perks now other than DS due to the lack of pressure provided from cages.

  • @Tricks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/167896/can-survivors-contribute-to-the-conversation-or-understand

"The taking away of the cage aura is the worst part. Survivors can still see the cage aura, while the killer cant, essentially making it so the survivors have more information from the killers power than the killer" - That part right there omg.

No other killer gets the ability to track Survivors while they're on the hook taken away from them while Survivors get that crucial info which has been deprived from Killer.

It's like PH has a permanent Third Seal blindness hex on him which he can never remove because he CANT DO BONES lawl.

I don't see any reason to use cage any more so I wont be using it.

Its absurd to me that PH got blindness on his own power

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

It's annoying that people on the forums think that survivor mains opinions are invalid. The only people that get listened to on here are killer mains or people who play both. There are unfair and frustrating things for both killer and survivor. Let's stop pretending that killers are the only ones who can get frustrating and unfair matches.

I am in no way trying to invalidate perfectly valid survivor opinions, but when a survivor opinion boils down to “stop complaining about ds” and “he do be tunnel doe”, its hard for me to take them seriously.

  • @malatruse said:

My suggestion for fixing the nerf is for uncaging to cause a loud noise notification at the cage spot, so the killer at least knows where the survivors are coming from.

Id rather give PH more tangible buffs, but that works

  • @Sadsnacks said:

I agree. Even before his nerf I noticed higher skilled survivors didn't care at all about running over the rites of judgement trails. What incentive is there to care about them now? It negates half of his zoning ability. I guess we can still try to send people to cages for the novelty, but that's not going to hold up for long.

I heavily agree with this, thats why I feel like if PH is getting nerfed like this, then torment in on itself should become more threatening, cause there are so many people who will gladly eat the torment.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Here's a tip for you OP the more you segregate the community between "Survivors" or "Killers" mains all you're doing is further dividing the community by making it seem like a war. Stop it, seriously. Most people play both sides and the more labels you give to people the more they do not care about "your" struggle.

I get the point you're making about PH but you're not understanding the other side either. Playing the Survivor role against most PH's all they did was tunnel off Cages. I get that's not how you played him but a lot of players did just that. Oh, and just because the Killer is not strong doesn't mean they can't have over powered aspects to them. Look at Bubba, a complete trash can of a Killer but you get him in basement its game over for that Survivor. PH can tunnel off Cages, cancel his power like The Slinger and his powers be abused by anyone with a brain cell. Again to make this very clear, he wasn't OP but dang could he tunnel like no other.

I dont think he is the strongest tunneler killer at all. Hes a pretty average tunneling killer, he just had the added benefit of effectively negating survivor perks. Nurse can definitely tunnel super hard, bubba is one hell of a camper, I feel like demo can tunnel and camp super well. People who tunneled are still gunna tunnel, PH or no PH

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The only situation I can really see where caging a survivor could be a gamble (assuming you want to head off to there to chase the saver/tunnel the caged person) is if you're in the dead center of a map, particularly on a map like Azarov's or Sanctum of Wrath. In the vast majority of other maps, you'll have a rough idea of where they were sent off to, meaning you can start heading off in that direction straight away, and then you'll get the last bit of information you need when they're saved. And hell, most survivors simply run to save people anyway, so you should see crows/scratchmarks way before that.

I just don't believe this is as big of a deal as you people make it out to be. I think the solution they've implemented is worse than simply making hook perks activate with cages, but that's a different debate entirely.

If a bunch of survivors are running, as they might to either go to a gen or go unhook, there will probably be many scratchmarks that wont lead you to your cage. Its not like cages appear in a certain direction away from you either, nor are cages constant and set in stone so im pretty sure to the average killer, theyll just hook someone and just know “the survivor is somewhere away from me now”. A cage can be any direction away from you.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If Pyramid Head could still see the auras of cages, the teleporting mechanic would just be worked around by finding the exact distance where the cage doesn't teleport. It'd be as if nothing was even changed. In fact, I bet people are already doing this.

The nerf isn't that bad. You still get a notification when they're uncaged thanks to the patch before this. Meaning you still get information on where exactly they were sent to and where they'll likely head off next. If you still really want to tunnel people out of cages, you can. You just have to use your (pyramid) head a little bit more.

If PH seriously goes to the cage, camps there until it despawns, then run to respawned cage to camp it again and has an opportunity to do all of that without running into a survivor. Its highly improbable and also would indicate that the caged survivors team is just not doing gens or going for the uncage. Thats phenomenal effort to camp when camping is a low effort option. If the survivors did gens during that scenario, im pretty sure they could reasonably get 2 gens, maybe 3 if they are really good.
