An in-trial scavenger hunt that rewards players for exploring by giving them iridescent shards? That would never happen, because that sounds like fun, the DBD team doesn't like it when we have fun.
Remember? This game is supposed to make you frustrated. That's what makes you come back. Remember?
-
I remember when somebody asked in a Q&A stream if survivors that don't progress the game could get AFK crows and [They who cannot be named]'s response to that question boiled down to "but how do we do that?????". They answered the question with another question, asking how long should it take for a survivor to get crows, and what counts as not progressing the game. They completely overexaggerated such a simple question, "how long is too long!? 40 seconds!? 45!? 50!?".
At least that's how I remember it. They (and everybody else) ignored the fact that these questions already have answers. 90 seconds is too long, repairing a gen, healing, opening a gate, unlocking a chest, and cleansing a totem are considered "advancing the game" thus resetting the AFK timer.

I heavily encourage you to change your steam review to negative. That's a tried and true way to get a fire going under any game studio, the DBD team buckled under the weight of a scathing tweet, imagine if the reviews for their cash cow were mostly negative.
-
I haven't had it happen recently, but I still remember the times it has happened. I've seen a mod on here ask about in the bug reports, asking for context, what map, what did you do, etc. The DBD team should know about it, but I can't imagine it'll ever being fixed. It's like that massive earth shaking "roar" that was recorded at the bottom of the ocean, we don't know why it happened, we just know it did, an anomaly with no explanation.
The skill check anomaly
aw yeah, that's a good name for it.
-
People play Jake? You guys are getting Jake players? The only reason I don't have Jake's face is because nobody plays him.
-
Ok.

Seeing as though veteran players still haven't received their legacy back, I think it's safe to say there's nothing you can do except name and shame on twitter then hope that gains traction.

Now that The Clown has received some modest buffs I think it's a good time to revive this thread.
I know people are very concerned with the current state of the game and how the DBD team has put the entire community on mute, but seriously how did this bizarre face string make it into the game? I can't enjoy my little hat because the string demands my full attention, it looks so out of place I find it legitimately difficult not staring at it. It looks more like a glitch, or a buggy texture than an actual design choice.
Now I know what you're probably wondering, "why don't you just wear a different head". Well the art team skimped out on The Clown's cosmetics, he has plenty of body cosmetics, but very few head and weapon cosmetics compared to other characters. This is why the last laugh cosmetic is living in my head rent free, I want to mix & match, I want to customize. Unfortunately The Clown has so few choices for headwear and face paint that I always find myself coming back to the one cosmetic I never wear, that stupid face string.
It makes me feel like I'm the real clown here.

"Listen to the community".... hm no thank you, if we do everything will be nerfed to the ground because people want their easy escape and free 4k.
"Listen to the community" isn't the same as "apply every single buff and nerf every single person wants".
-
That outfit is available in the battle pass, it was accidentally given to players for free when the pass was released.
-
If Bill actually got any cosmetics it'd probably just be two low quality "very rare" outfits that are locked so you can't mix & match. We have to start asking for essential collections again, the art team has been slacking on those. I mean honestly, if BHVR has such good relations with fun world and the stranger things crew why don't their licensed characters have any cosmetics? More importantly, why is Nancy's face smashed in, and why is Ghost Face still a dysfunctional mess of a character?
Thanks for coming, in this TED talk I will be giving an in depth explanation about Agartha and how it can be re

Extra BP wouldn't make the perk stronger, decisive strike and unbreakable already give you BP. I swear people on this board will disagree with anything for the sake of having an argument.
-
Not just the pizza, but the wings too! Soon all things will be pineapple!
-
Bruh, this dude really said struggling on the hook is a core mechanic😂. Struggling could literally be removed from the game and nothing would change, it's the exact polar opposite of a core mechanic. I've never seen somebody so eager to defend mandatory button mashing.
-
Increase his terror radius to 32 meters, then make it so his terror radius can't be lower than his effective range. The only exceptions to this would be if he's undetectable, or when he's using those add-ons that make his terror radius smaller when aiming.
I don't really have a problem with him spamming ads, If he's close enough to make me flinch then he's probably going to stab me anyway. My issue with Deathslinger is that I don't know I'm in danger until he's close enough to breath in my mouth. Gives me flash backs to pre-nerf prayer beads Spirit.
-
Nobody is demonizing stealth, people are demonizing hiding in the most obscure corner you can find. Stealth is a part of the basic gameplay loop, being a stow away all match is borderline griefing depending on the situation.

If somebody's bringing a chase to you, you have to out-distance the survivor being chased, get a head start and move away from the area. The easiest way to do this is to unironically use bond, empathy is also good for this. In my experience it's very rare for survivors to sandbag, it just so happens that the area you're in is where they need to be.
Also this might seem obvious, but you need to run away from the killer, don't crouch in a corner, don't hide behind your gen, get distance. If what you said is true and you've been sandbagged several time without any way to escape it's because you're standing still and letting the killer get an easy first hit.
I'm not saying this to belittle you, nor am I trying to insinuate that you're bad at the game. Please understand.

This obviously isn't intentional, but I don't know how something like this got past QA.
This is actually pretty common for BHVR, look at Jeff or Adam, They have several cosmetics that are almost identical to each other. If I remember correctly Elodie has three pairs of blue pants. The Trapper has several gator waders that are so dark you can't tell the difference between them in-game. Also, The Wraith has an outfit that makes his brown cloak and bandages... Brown, again.

I understand that the devs said they aren't going to focus on events they deem unimportant, but I just want to point out that this lunar new year event is just recycled content from the previous lunar new year events. Except the event currencies, they didn't recycle the one thing that made people genuinely excited to grind the game.
Worse still, they are actually putting a surprising amount of effort into this event. The new "event" cosmetics are very high quality, a new event toolbox was added into the game, they're making more redeem codes for smaller cosmetics reskins, and you get a log-in reward for every day of the event.
When they said they're putting less effort into the events I don't think they meant what we think they meant. I'm getting the impression that was their way of saying "Our higher ups want more of your time and money". They're putting less effort into event currencies, that's it, that's the "less effort" bit.
-
The new battle pass also has 48 empty spaces, no BP, no shards, no cells. They're following a formula, they literally sat down at a round table and had a serious discussion about the optimal amount of nothing they can give.
-
Maybe they can make the sound play when Michael is stalking you mid-chase.

"God, that kettle's color is so dark" said the pot.

No @Bullettimegod obviously not. Mods are allowed to have their own custom avatars as they are in a position of trust, but us having to moderate everyone's avatar would be next to impossible.
"Mods are allowed to have their own custom avatars as they are in a position of trust"
Bro trust us, we're like, the most trustworthy people here. C'mon untrustworthy people don't just time travel back to a dusty old thread like this. Like man, I literally had to fight three or four cave men and a dinosaur on my way here. God knows what'll have to do to get back.

I feel like this idea could actually be the beginning of something, maybe instead of immediately removing the bubble notifications the blindness effect can operate similarly to the huntress's lullaby. Decreasing the time a survivor can see these notifications depending on how blind they are, if a survivor is carless they may even suffer from full blindness, unable to receive any notifications at all. Can you imagine being so blind that your HUD just doesn't update at all? Two of your teammates are dying on the ground, one of them is already dead, but from your perspective they're still healthy and fine. Now that's horrifying.
Also touching on the third seal, I always thought a cool way to buff the third seal was to make it's name literal, have the perk spawn three hex totems that all do the same thing. Y'know, because the existence of the third seal implies the existence of a first, and second seal.

Took me a second to realize what the screen shot was showing me. This is the classic brain dead strat of doing gens and being immersed when spine chill lights up. Turns the game into an electrician/walking simulator, also has the additional bonus of embarrassing yourself when the scoreboard pops up. The survivors left through the gates with 11k, 7k, 4k, and 3k blood points, then they received 5k for escaping.
Can you imagine doing so little as a survivor you escape with less than the amount of blood points most people die with?
Also shoutout to the mega mind using an escape cake, not sure why you'd use any point related offering when doing this strat. Hiding from the point pinata is not how you get points.
-
Was that person new to the game or using an alt account? The game gives you tips in the loading screen on how to survive against killers you've never encountered.
-
Wait, the DBD team put Laurie and Bill as hard? I get Laurie being hard because OoO can backfire sometimes, but Bill? Literally all three of Bill's perks revolve around getting a second chance.
-
When the very first battle pass was released the devs explained that all the outfits in the pass would be available 6 months after the rift was released. The most recent (Trapper, Claudette, Wraith, and Jake) outfits made available in the store are actually from previous rifts.
I found about this the same way you did, a stranger on the internet explained it to me.
-
It will be available in the store in a couple of months.
-
"Mr. X cannot be in the game because it would be foolish for a piece of wood to stun him"
Mr. X? The same dude that doesn't know how to walk over a knee high couch? The same dude that doesn't know how to use his bullet proof arms to cover his face to avoid being shot by bullets? Mr. X is a grade A certified meat head who can absolutely be defeated by a piece of wood.
What an asinine reason to not have Mr. X in the game, Mr. X is an unintimidating chew toy in RE remake and RE Resistance, He'd fit right in.
-
But what about my immersion? I really want to feel like I'm struggling against an eldritch god that could very easily kill me at any moment without me being able to do anything to stop it. Like obviously smashing a single button is comparable to resisting the will of a higher being that I can't even properly observe because my mind is unable to understand what it's looking at.
The second phase should be the same as the first phase, nobody has a problem sitting there inactive during the first phase, it shouldn't be a problem in the second. No button mashing, no skill checks, you got hit with the dodge ball now wait for your teammates to pull you back into the game.
-
bruh, this dude really just pointed out something extremely obvious and really just said "if you look closely you can see it"
gave me a good chuckle, no hate.

I believe so. And I don't think it's that bad, considering that they just have to get the gen up to half and the perk vanishes, basically
Mindbreaker got buffed, it always makes you exhausted. Not like it matters, there's better perks to use that don't deactivate when you're exhausted.

I dont think that clip shows what you what to show...
In the clip two survivors are put into the dying state by a single attack, this is exactly what he wanted to show us.

If the generator is being repaired surge should blow it up.
If the generator is regressing then surge shouldn't blow it up.
-
- New bugs
- Clown add-ons
- Survivor animations
Mostly the bugs, I would like to see the bugs. I'm also wondering if The Clown will have add-ons that decrease the time it takes for his antidote to activate.
-
Is that the blue one that says game over on the back? That was only available in the battle pass, it should show up in the store 3-ish months from now, maybe? There's a lot of battle pass cosmetics that should be in the store, but instead they just kind of vanished, so don't hold your breath.
-
"many will disagree with me"
The only thing in this post I disagree with is them saying I'll disagree with their post, also don't call me many.
-
Decreasing the time Second Wind heals you won't make the perk good, have the perk simply activate after you've been unhooked. Pair the perk with Dead Hard and boom, kinda ok build that's good if you're not being camped.
Iron Maiden shouldn't expose survivors, it should reveal their auras. If you're gonna make a perk that punishes people for hiding it should make it more difficult for them to hide, not encourage them to do it even harder for 30 seconds.
Afterpiece Antidote shouldn't work on survivors, but this doesn't really matter too much because The Clown will still be faster than the survivor if they both use the gas. Just doesn't seem right having a killer power that's also a survivor power.
-
Pretty good idea, better than a majority of rework proposals I've seen. You removed the thing everybody hates, replaced it with something just as powerful, and most importantly kept the movement speed bonus. Hate it when people try to get rid of that, NOED wouldn't even be a hex perk without the movement speed bonus.
-
I noticed this as well, the hook offerings doing the opposite of what they're supposed to do is actually probable, I remember the sowing needle and suture add-ons for the medkit had a similar issue. These add-ons would decrease the chance of getting a skill check while healing instead of increasing the chance, but that was quite a while ago, two years I think.
-
Worst case scenario you get the legacy treatment, 4 years of "Issue? What issue?" Good luck.
-
@Altarf said:
Object doesn't work unless you're outside the TR. This would make it useless against most killers. Object can't really be salvaged with a numbers change, it needs a full rework.
Plenty of killers have a terror radius lower than 32 meters, also Open Handed exists.
-
A lot of bug reports have already been made about this spot, I'm surprised it's not fixed yet.
-
I think this issue could be easily remedied by just heavily rewarding the killer if somebody disconnects. Y'know, count it as 3 hooks & a sac, three thousand bloodpoints into the sacrifice category. I think having a hatch blocking/ hatch moving mechanic is to much work for the DBD team.
-
A perfect reason to remove the struggle phase, hopefully they get on it soon.
-
This has been a known issue for 2, maybe 3 years now, I don't think they'll fix it unless you plan on paying for the bug patch.

Well if you pick and choose, and actively ignore the rewards, then sure, we haven't been getting anything.
But fortunately, the world does not work that way. The 10,000 Bloodpoints was the daily rewards, and yes they do count.
You are aware of what an Advent Calendar is, yes? Daily bite sized chocolate pieces, with emphasis on **bite sized**. They're not meant to be big, so neither is the 10,000 Bloodpoints each day. Unless you eat 31 pieces of chocolate at once, just like if you save the 10,000 daily for 31 days.
I didn't ignore any of the rewards, I deliberately went out of my way to bring up every single one we've received so far. Also, I'm fully aware of what an advent calendar is, but I don't believe you know what a bite sized portion of something is.
10,000 BP is not, in any capacity, a bite sized amount of BP, let's talk about saving up these rewards since you brought it up. Saving these bloodpoints will net you 300,000 BP, which is 4-5 lvl 50 blood webs. In my opinion that's bite sized, because even if you start from lvl 1 you're still not going to get very far into the character you're leveling.
That's all this is though, opinions, if your content with 10k BP more power to you. Thanks for listening to me flap my gums.

Midwich generators are surprisingly easy to find, if you stand in the doorway to a classroom you can see generators from there. Run in and take a glance, takes zero effort. Also, all the gens on Midwich are red, so they still have their pulsating white lights making them even easier to find.
